Rio Sordo Riserva is particularly dense, rich and balanced. On the nose we find roses, spices and raspberries. Very complex on the palate, with marvellous depth and juiciness. Rio Sordo offers a taut and sharp fruit on the nose, which is rounded off with some tannin and crispness on the finish. Muncagota is rich, deep and super-expressive every year, hitting all the right notes. Black cherry, plum, spice, leather and liquorice emerge, but all very hesitantly and with plenty of aeration, better: with further bottle ageing. The single-vineyard Barbaresco Riserva Ovello is, as always, one of the outstanding wines in this series. It shows the energy and tension so typical of this site, but with a slightly more mature profile than is the norm. Ovello dives straight into the volatile Nebbiolo aromas, with a focus on liquorice, tar, blue flowers and campfire ash. The palate is full-bodied, with flavours of crushed raspberries, juicy Marasca cherries, liquorice and nutmeg as well as firm, tight-knit tannins. The fresh acidity provides tension and balance. Brilliant and vertical, it retains its characteristic floral note and the freshness of the fruit typical of the terroir.

Bright and radiant, with a lot of Nebbiolo character, it is a successful interpretation of the terroir and shows the great class of the winery. Sweet red cherries, tobacco, mint, aniseed and white pepper on the nose. Medium-bodied and graceful on the palate with a good balance of flavour, acidity and structure. With further bottle ageing, this Barbaresco tends to be softer and more open, with soft tannins and a broad palate, thanks to the microclimate created by the cru's proximity to the Tanaro river.

The youngest of the Produttori cru wines, which saw the light of day in 1978. The palate reveals ripe, silky fruit and an important structure.

The Barbaresco Montefico is a jewel of a wine. Freshly cut flowers, minerals, crushed rocks, rose petals and lavender are all finely cut. As always, the Montefico is taut and angular in style. Its sense of transparency is simply beguiling. Sage, mint and sweet pipe tobacco are some of the nuances that linger. Do you know the small vineyard Basarin near Neive? A bright ruby garnet awaits you and a wine from a particularly beautiful vintage: on the nose, a cornucopia of aromas of wild sour cherry, herbs, some liquorice and tobacco.
