"Authentic & biodynamic – and firmly in family hands!"
The Alois Lageder family winery produces lively and fresh wines from South Tyrol. With a holistic understanding of nature, creativity and a love of experimentation, Alois Lageder creates wines that reflect the diversity of South Tyrol. In the spirit of biodynamic agriculture, the winery is constantly developing its knowledge, exchanging it with its winemaking partners and carrying it into new areas. Founded in 1823, the company is now run by the fifth and sixth generations of the Lageder family.
Biodynamics (Greek bios for life and δinamikòs for movement) is a way of working to renew agriculture based on the principles of anthroposophy. The Austrian philosopher Rudolf Steiner founded this world and human view at the beginning of the 20th century. According to the anthroposophical attitude, a farm functions like a self-contained microcosm with a diversity of plants and animals. In cultivated nature, too, a closed cycle is created between soil, plants and nature. The Alois Lageder winery has set itself the goal of maintaining and expanding this complex ecosystem. With a spirit of experimentation and innovation, they create space for experimentation and play with the potential of the region.
