Salice Salentino Rosso “50° Vendemmia” Riserva DOC 2019
The Riserva from the great traditional line of de Castris captivates with intense cherry fruit, fine wood notes and subtle spice. Powerful and juicy on the palate, round and harmonious, with a wonderfully long finish. Every year a fantastic price-pleasure ratio! SUPERIORE.DE
"A fantastic value, the 2019 Salice Riserva 50esima Vendemmia opens with black cherry and plum depths complemented by sweet herbs and tobacco. This is silky-smooth and rich with masses of ripe dark fruits and exotic spices. It leaves a staining of primary concentration while tapering off lightly structured yet energetic." Vinous
"A harmonious medium-bodied red offering a well-balanced palette of black plums, dried raspberries, fresh loamy earth and hints of dark chocolate and sage, all underpinned by fine-grained tannins and juicy acidity." Wine Spectator
"This powerful yet balanced red offers compact aromas of ploughed soil, violets, blood orange and crushed peppercorns over a dense blackberry core. The palate is juicy yet broad and densely packed, framed by powerful acidity and velvety tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"Warm stones, blackberries, sweet plums and cocoa beans on the nose follow through to a medium to full body with fine, silky tannins rounding out the bittersweet fruit. Spicy and quite long with a fine, spicy chocolate powder finish. An excellent Negroamaro." James Suckling

"The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Silìneo 2020 opens with hints of white pepper, chalk and dried blueberries. It is silky and plush with tart forest fruits that give it tension. A salty, mineral core provides a savoury character. Wild herbs and liquid stone characterise the finish, while the 2020 ends with a light structure and medium length." Vinous

Brilliant ruby colour with a dense rim. Delicately scented with plum jam, cherry, black pepper, violets and gingerbread. Also soft on the palate, with notes of nuts, sultanas and lovely juicy fruit. “Tignanello” Toscana IGT 2020
Tenuta Tignanello is located in the heart of Chianti Classico on the gentle hills between the valleys of the Greve and Pesa rivers and comprises 319 hectares of land, of which around 130 are planted with vines. The estate's vineyards include two jewels: Tignanello and Solaia, which are located on the same hill, on calcareous and schistose marl soils of marine origin from the Pliocene, and which benefit from warm days and fresh nights during the growing season. Two wines are produced from these vineyards, which many years ago had the potential to become the starting point of the Italian wine renaissance. Nothing has changed to this day.
Deep ruby red colour. Complex bouquet of ripe fruit such as cherry, strawberry and blackberry, with delicate hints of violet, mallow and rose in the background, followed by roasted coffee and some cocoa. Vibrant, full-bodied and very complex on the palate with primary fruit, elegantly integrated wood spice, pepper and liquorice. Tignanello 2020 is resonant, dense, breathtaking, almost regal. The balance and freshness of the vintage will ensure a promising further maturation and development towards even more finesse and elegance, which will certainly make this vintage one of the best in the long line-up of Tignanello vintages. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby colour with a delicate garnet rim. Very clear and precise on the nose, with a flavour of ripe, plump cherries and blackberries, plus delicate notes of chestnuts and blood oranges. Firm, savoury tannins characterise the palate, lots of juicy fruit, builds full-bodied." Falstaff
"A concentrated red wine with aromas of black cherries, blackberries, iron, tobacco and vanilla, framed by sweet spices and roasted flavours. It finishes with mouth-flattering tannins, but is quite balanced overall. Seductive and stylish." Wine Spectator
"The Tignanello 2020 shows a beautiful bouquet with an open-minded and accessible personality. Right away you can recognise dark cherries, dried raspberries, spices, toasted almonds and citrusy blood oranges. This vintage is very nice and will not require a long wait. The tannins are sweet and silky." Wine Advocate
"Delightfully approachable on the nose right away, with warm mocha notes and cool graphite aromas against bing and black cherries, and a palate that's equally outrageously delicious and easy to love even in its unbridled youth, with more cherries, blackberries, raspberries and chocolate inside a framework of tannins made to measure and acid built like an invisible force field." Wine Enthusiast
"The Tignanello 2020 is so original, so intensely fruity that it almost tastes like a barrel sample. A burst of red Sangiovese fruit opens first, followed by notes of blood orange, cinnamon, spices, dried flowers and mocha that develop later. With time in the glass, the impressive dimensions come to light. In 2020, the Tignanello is wonderfully supple and racy, with fine tannins lying beneath a core of bright, plastic fruit. The balance here is simply superb. I can't wait to taste the 2020 again as it ages." Vinous
"The ancestor of the Supertuscans in timeless form: Multi-faceted bouquet with aromas of black cherries, black pepper, orange zest and herbs; despite its youth, it has a cosy texture, tightly woven tannins, the acidity provides ageing potential, complex finish that tempts you to have another glass." Vinum
"Violets and lavender with dark fruits and a hint of dark chocolate. Sophisticated nose. Medium-bodied with a fine tannin structure that gives it finesse and beauty. It is very long and lingers for minutes. Precision. Drinkable now, but better in three or four years." James Suckling
"One of the first Italian brands with international appeal and at the same time a great terroir wine. Refined bouquet with notes of blueberry jam, undergrowth and black peppercorns, with a citrus-like finish. Salty on the palate, very persistent, fruity and spicy on the finish." Luca Gardini

Cool grapefruit and passion fruit, taut acidity and impressive mineral notes on the dry finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A cool nose with Burgundian finesse and pressure, fine reduction, mineral notes, salted lemon, light flowers, pear. Extremely fresh and gripping on the palate, elegant and spicy, with yellow-coloured spice, saline minerality and powerful, elegant freshness." Weinwisser
"Bright green-yellow in colour. Delicately smoky, stony on the nose, with subtle hints of salted lemon and some white flowers. Vibrant, salty on the palate, with noble citrus fruit." Falstaff
"This lively white wine offers a nice counterbalance to the creamy texture with aromatic accents of dried mint and grapefruit peel to the flavours of apricot, chopped almonds and poached pear. Salty finish." Wine Spectator
"The Etna Bianco 2022 is remarkably fresh and exudes an herb-accentuated bouquet, in which wet stone and a hint of smoke mingle with crushed almonds and pears. The palate is washed by a mineral wave of ripe fruit, accompanied by a hint of sour lime. The finish is crisp, refreshing and long, with a hint of delicious acidity that calls the drinker back to the glass." Vinous
"The nose is characterised by light, floral aromas of yellow apples, pears, lemons and white flowers, while warm, stony undertones provide balance. The palate is characterised by citrus fruits, with tree fruits not neglected, before a slightly nutty, salty finish supported by a gentle acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"Notes of ripe apples and pears with spices, camomile and a stony minerality. Medium-bodied, supple and polished with juicy acidity and delicious fruit. Complex and full of character." James Suckling
"From the districts of Verzella and Pietramarina, a pure Carricante grown between 600 and 750 metres above sea level and then aged for four months in steel tanks. Notes of lychee on the nose, with a hint of lemon thyme and white melon, with hints of lemon and wild mint. Salty-orange on the palate, with a fruity, citrusy finish." Luca Gardini

Chianti Classico DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Fine, slender and racy Chianti Classico from organic cultivation - and one of our particular favourites for 20 years. Captivating aromas, dense, firm body, deep and juicy, with well-defined tannins and a fresh and appetising finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark red; rather discreet; good acidity, juicy acidity, also fruit, tannic, not drying, length." Merum
"Brilliant, youthful ruby red colour. Beautiful, pure bouquet of cherries with mineral and savoury notes. On the palate, an impeccable balance between fresh, concentrated red fruit, juicy acidity and fine, gravelly tannins. Simply irresistible." Jancis Robinson
"The Chianti Classico 2021 is accessible and easy to drink. Mild cherry and dried raspberry, followed by almond, blue flower and peat moss. The winemaking is very simple and starts with spontaneous yeast fermentation and a short maturation in large oak barrels. You get good value, especially with this classic vintage." Wine Advocate
"The Chianti Classico 2021 is great. Bright and vibrant, with plenty of Sangiovese character, the 2021 is everything a Chianti Classico should be. Bright red cherry fruit, blood orange, mint, spice and tobacco all come through well in this juicy, wonderfully inviting Chianti Classico. The 2021 is one of the best editions of this wine I've tasted recently." Vinous
"A vibrant, even racy style, featuring cherry, pomegranate, rose hip and mineral aromas and flavors fused to a steely structure. Intense and elegant, this lingers, with fruit and stony mineral notes." Wine Spectator
"Notes of cooked strawberries, red liquorice, blood orange and cedar wood. Medium body. Bright and racy with crisp acidity and a flavourful finish." James Suckling
"Unobtrusive yet persistent, beautiful herbs and spring flowers on a bright strawberry. While the palate is still a little austere and angular, it shows great tension and concentration. Fine-grained tannins provide an effortless, unforced structure, while the pure raspberry notes are enhanced by salty minerals in this mid-weight beauty." Decanter

“L’Atto” Rosso Basilicata IGT 2022
"L'Atto" - "The Deed". The names of Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti's wines are reminiscent of his father's notarial world.
Atto exudes a bouquet of crushed purple candies, freshly cut plums and a hint of musk. It is soft and fleshy in style, while silky textures reveal an opulent display of ripe black fruits and sweet herbal notes on the palate. Spiced blackberries mingle with hints of ginger biscuits and purple-hued flowers as it finishes long. There is plenty of immediate pleasure here, but not at the expense of balance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dusty dried florals, blackberries and exotic spice waft up from the 2022 l’Atto. This soothes with its silky textures and ripe wild berry fruits as sour citrus adds a lovely contrast toward the close. It finishes long and with a bitter tinge. Residual acids maintain a fresh character." Vinous

“Riparosso” Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC 2022
Illuminati's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riparosso has a sweet scent of violets and lavender, followed by crushed blackberries and chalk dust. It washes over the palate with soft textures and ripe wild berries, contrasted towards the end by sour citrus fruits. “Vitiano” Rosso Umbria IGP 2022
Typical Vitiano: its colour is deep ruby red and aromas of cherries and berries fill the nose. The generous flavour is beautifully clear, just as we know it, with wonderfully fresh cherry tones with an aromatic vanilla note in the foreground. The youngest Vitiano also has an excellent structure and fine tannins. Already round, full-bodied, juicy and with long-lasting fruit. SUPERIORE.DE
"Aromas of blackberries, graphite and white pepper, leading to a medium body with light, fine tannins and a spicy finish. Delicate and delicious." James Suckling
"The 2022 Rosso Vitiano is a total pleasure on the nose, wafting up with a burst of wild blueberries, lavender and confectionary spice. It is silky-smooth and nearly creamy in texture, with masses of ripe red and blue fruits, gaining balance through a core of brisk acidity. It tapers off with outstanding length and concentration, leaving a pleasantly bitter blackberry tinge to linger on." Vinous

“Marchese Antinori” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020
Since the 2011 vintage, the Riserva Marchese Antinori has been made entirely from grapes from Tenuta Tignanello. As a result, the production volume has decreased and a further leap in quality has been made. Sparkling ruby in colour, with a bouquet of dark wild cherries, graphite, violets and spices. Flowing and round on the palate, very juicy, the French oak adds volume and fullness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright ruby red colour. Fragrant, new precious wood on the nose, delicate cherry, with some coconut and light vanilla, raspberry fruit on the finish, fragrant. Elegant and wood-accentuated style on the palate, everything is in its place, currently still a little young, shows very good foresight." Falstaff
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori, from the Tignanello estate, is packed with black cherry, spice, new leather, liquorice and dried flowers. A dash of Merlot gives it soft contours, but it's a fairly crowded style that works well here." Vinous
"Dense with fruit concentration, red fruits, a hint of wood spice and dried herbs. Full-bodied with a rich mouthfeel. Long and powerful. Modern and balanced." Decanter
"This wine is similar in structure to a Brunello with excellent length. Racy and concentrated. Aromas of violets and dried flowers with a hint of bark and dark cherries. Medium-bodied with very fine tannins and a marvellous finish. A wine for now or for the cellar." James Suckling
"A lean, elegant red wine with fine, pure aromas of cherries, blackcurrants, iron, olives and tobacco. New oak is evident on the palate, adding both spice and structure, balanced by ample fruit and texture. Balanced, complex finish." Wine Spectator

“Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia” Bolgheri DOC 2021
Beguiling aroma of sweet, dark berries with a hint of cassis, cedar wood and antique leather. Very balanced on the palate, beautifully viscous with an elegant melt. Fine-meshed tannins, restrained mineral tones and wonderfully polished fruit accompany a remarkable finish. For all its elegance, it shows pressure and power and, with the right dose of acidity, promises a long life and almost reaches the level of its famous big brother. SUPERIORE.DE
"Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia 2021 is the result of a first-class and extremely satisfying vintage and allows the good tannin quality and well-dosed concentration that characterise the wines of this vintage to shine through. In the glass, it impresses with a brilliant ruby red colour with the usual violet reflections. The nose is fresh with notes of pink pepper and cypress cones, reminiscent of the Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, the wine is elegant, with a beautiful acidity and a long, spicy final that invites you to take a second sip." Olga Fusari, Oenologist
"Almost black in the glass. Subtle fragrance, delicate fruity notes of blackberry, blueberry and some elderberry. A subtle hint of coconut wood. Also dark fruity on the palate, velvety with fine-grained tannins, embedded acidity and a fine herbal flavour. Very balanced and harmonious, young but with great potential. Long and fresh, juicy finish." Vinum
"The Serre Nuove is the second wine of the Ornellaia and is also a Bordeaux blend that consists of about half Merlot. Rich aroma with flavours of red-blue fruits such as blackberry, blueberry and ripe plums. The palate is also rich and dark-fruity with a velvety texture and fine-grained tannins, good acidity and a fine herbal flavour. Balanced and harmonious, still very youthful, but with great potential." Weinwisser
"The 2021 Bolgheri Rosso Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is a beautifully extracted and rich blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This vintage is very generous, even opulent, with dark fruits framed by exotic spices, baking chocolate and soft toasty tones from French oak. The wine finishes on a creamy note with vanilla and cinnamon. The oak needs a few more years to integrate." Wine Advocate
"A sophisticated red wine, complex and perfumed, with aromas and flavours of blackcurrants, blackberries, plums, violets and iron. It builds beautifully, showing its balance and releasing the dense tannins at the end. This wine should develop well." Wine Spectator
"A powerful and straightforward red wine with blackcurrant, berry, chocolate and cedarwood flavours. It is medium to full-bodied. Fine tannins that extend over the entire length of the wine. It is dense and concentrated. Energetic and bright. Still needs time, better after 2026." James Suckling
"Sparkling, rich ruby red with a light violet rim. Noble and delicate nose of red currants, ripe plums and rich sour cherries, with a subtle hint of leather and a hint of mint in the background. Velvety tannins on the palate, well-balanced, with a fruity, elegant and long-lasting finish." Falstaff
"The 2021 Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia has enormous power. Masses of dark fruit, dark chocolate, leather, liquorice and cloves saturate the palate. I can't recall a Serre Nuove with this much sheer power and dark intensity, but the balance is there, especially with aeration. It will be interesting to see how the 2021 develops. It's quite a powerhouse today." Vinous
"Pungent, meaty umami flavours dominate the nose, but dark fruit and a tangy, metallic component prevent these notes of smoke, pepper and tar from becoming overpowering. Undertones of vanilla and chocolate lift the fruit on the palate, but unyielding tannins and energetic acidity ensure that the savoury earthiness persists." Wine Enthusiast

Ripassa della Valpolicella Superiore DOC 2020
The world-famous Valpolicella Superiore from Zenato, produced using the Ripasso method, is a rich wine with the best value. It is peppery, with earthy tones and gravel giving way to black cherries and savoury herbs. It reveals deep, silky textures balanced by vibrant acids, while ripe red and black fruits resonate under a hint of lavender. Zenato's Ripassa is concentrated and intense, but at the same time conveys elegance and leaves a fresh note of violet candy on the palate that lingers for a long time. SUPERIORE.DE
"An aromatic, savory streak of tarry smoke and leather offers a subtle underpinning for the rich mesh of Amarena cherry, cured tobacco, licorice and warm spices on display in this harmonious red, with supple, well-knit tannins." Wine Spectator
"An excellent Ripasso. A full-bodied wine polished by a smooth veneer of winemaking. Liquorice root, violet, clove, sassafras and dark cherry accent the oak. The sweetness is in the cherry range, but the tannic clip ensures that it is not excessive. This is a wine for those who like power and polish." James Suckling

“Collemassari” Rosso Montecucco Riserva DOC 2020 (BIO)
Intense ruby red, persistent, fruity bouquet with notes of wild berries, violets, cloves and cinnamon as well as sweet tobacco flavours. Concentrated, fleshy, tannic, dark fruit flavours on the palate. On the finish, the spicy flavours merge with a pleasant fruity note. An unbeatable wine every year at a very attractive price! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a violet tinge. Lots of blackberry on the nose, subtle earthy notes as well as vanilla and pepper. Animating and lively on the palate, ripe tannins, lively acidity, spicy, medium-long final." Falstaff
"Crunchy red cherries and raspberries, followed by lifted floral notes and spices with a hint of chopped bell pepper. Medium body, with chewy tannins and refreshing acidity. Simple but delightful. From organically grown grapes." James Suckling
"The 2020 Montecucco Rosso Riserva lifts from the glass with a whiff of reduction that slowly blows off to reveal an herbal-tinged mix of wild strawberries, cedar and spice. This is rich and velvety, with masses of ripe red fruits and tactile mineral tones complicated by a note of sage. Brisk acidity maintains balance. It tapers off with a woody sensation, like a pine spice box, as hints of chalk dust and inner rose fade. The warmth of the vintage imparted a fleshy, nearly opulent character to the Rosso Riserva." Italy and wine. They just belong together. In no other country is wine so taken for granted. Italians are connoisseurs. Italian cuisine is world famous. Lunch and dinner are often really celebrated. And there's no meal without wine. This has a long tradition in Italy. Everywhere. From South Tyrol to Sicily. Some regions have built up a great international reputation with special autochthonous varieties that are native only to these regions. Above all Tuscany with Chianti, Brunello or Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Or the Super Tuscans after models like Sassicaia, Ornellaia or Tignanello, which can keep up with the best red wines from Bordeaux.
World-famous are also the top wines from Piedmont, Barolo and Barbaresco, which are often compared in their finesse and elegance with much more expensive wines from Burgundy. Or Amarone from the valleys near Verona, Soave and Bardolino from Lake Garda. Or the cool red ones (yes!) from the Sicilian up-and-coming region around the hot volcano Etna.
Italian wines are diversity.
Due to the different climate zones and soils up to the mountains of Valtellina, but also close to the Mediterranean Sea or big lakes, there are various wine variants. Italian White wines as well as red wines, sparkling wines or dessert wines. In San Gimignano as well as in Puglia. From South Tyrol to Sardinia. There is actually no region in Italy without demanding viticulture.
Back to the roots. Old grape varieties and organic wines are "in"
For some years now, excellent wines from organic cultivation have been on the rise. Old grape varieties are rediscovered and celebrate successes, some winegrowers literally fanatically cultivate their wine in amphorae and bring great so-called "natural wines" into the bottle. All this makes Italian wines so typical, wonderful food companions with fine fruit and drinkability are the recipe for success. And all this with a very good price-performance ratio. The best wines of Italy never let boredom arise, from the "icon wine" to the up-and-coming boutique winery: exciting wine experiences await you! SUPERIORE.DE
