“Perlé" Metodo Classico Rosé Riserva Trento DOC 2017 brut · in gift box
Elegance, nobility and class come together in this spumante produced according to the classic method. Finely sparkling rosé of a distinguished old rose colour, with a delicate nose of subtle smoke, wet stone, salted lemon, grapefruit and a light yeasty touch. Very precise and dry on the palate with well-integrated perlage, elegant yet powerful, savoury. The expressive temperament of the Pinot Nero and the fine nature of the Chardonnay create its stunning balance. SUPERIORE.DE
"This slightly brownish shimmering rosé is balanced and finely integrated. It offers a framework of well-balanced acidity that is surrounded by a rich profile of nectarine, plum skin and raspberry fruit, with accents of smoked almond, tea leaf, vanilla and fleur de sel. A fresh, pleasant wine that also pairs well with food." Wine Spectator
"The 2017 Trento doc Riserva Perlé Rosé evolves in the glass with a bouquet of dusty dried flowers, white smoke and ground ginger. It's zesty, packed full of saline mineral tension elevated by brisk acidity and tart orchard fruits. The 2017 tapers off long, leaving a cheek-puckering sensation that forces the palate to salivate for more." Vinous

Brunello di Montalcino “Castelgiocondo” DOCG 2019
Our customers had to do without Frescobaldi's Castelgiocondo for several years, as we felt that it did not sufficiently reflect the elegance and finesse of the Montalcino region. After the winery made some stylistic changes in recent years, it has evolved from a rather opulent wine into a very authentic and cool interpretation of the appellation and we would therefore not like to withhold the very successful 2019 edition from you.
Opens beautifully in the glass with sour cherries, spiced oranges and dried flowers. Creamy textures on the drink, contrasted by cool minerality and juicy acids, nicely accompanied by small red berries under a hint of sweet herbs and inner flowers. Castelgiocondo 2019 still needs some time to develop, but it has the necessary balance and structure to mature into a real beauty. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, light ruby with a granite-red rim. Deep and spicy nose of black pepper, damp earth, tobacco, cedar wood and cherry jam. Ripe fruit on the palate, finely woven tannins, lots of tension, a hint of menthol on the long finish." Falstaff
"Very dark ruby red with bright orange-coloured reflections. Rich, brooding cherry with a hint of eucalyptus. Supple fruit that is still quite curled up at the same time. Grainy, long tannins and plenty of juice on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"The Brunello comes from plots located between 350 and 450 metres above sea level on the predominantly slate-rich Galestro. Concentrated and expressive, the nose reveals an intriguing blend of red cherries, plums, nutmeg and mint. The layers of generous fruit are lush and the tannins have a suede-like texture. Undertones of sweet earth and forest permeate the wine. Well made, everything is effortlessly in place." Decanter
"The Frescobaldi 2019 Brunello di Montalcino CastelGiocondo shows notes of oak, dried spices, redwood and smoked tobacco. At its core, the wine shows dark fruit and a high level of extraction. The tannins are soft and dissolved, making this Brunello a wine that can be drunk immediately. The wine is exactly where you want it to be." Wine Advocate
"This powerful red wine is as spicy as it is fruity, with notes of cherry, plum, leather, wild thyme, woody undergrowth, iron and tobacco. Powerful, with dusty tannins that guard the long-lasting finish." Wine Spectator
"Black cherries, black bark, blackberries and lavender. Medium to full-bodied with juicy and polished tannins and a long, flavourful finish. Needs four to five years to open up and develop." James Suckling
"South-west quadrant of the appellation, a Brunello of spicy and balsamic elegance. Refined nose, black cherry, a hint of juniper, closing on cinnamon sensations. Dense and drinkable on the palate, with iodised tannins and recurring notes of black cherry, with citrus notes." Luca Gardini

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019
Brilliant, dark ruby colour. Deep bouquet of rich blackberry and cherry flavours with mentholated herbal notes that give it lift, while notes of cedar and clove develop in the glass. On the palate, the wine is a pure silk that slowly lays over the palate, with an admirable density and weight balanced by bright acidity and minerality. This still very young wine is full of potential with a core of dark primary fruit that already offers a good foretaste of the charm of later years. A finely woven tannin structure on the long final. Wonderful ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very beautiful, floral bouquet with delicate candied, ripe cherries, lilacs and rose petals. Powerful, juicy in the mouth, spicy-floral frame with rather red berry freshness, beautiful spice and herbal notes, good tension with quite supple, fine-grained tannins." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby red with garnet reflections. Elegant bouquet of sweet cherries, undergrowth, fresh mushrooms, plus some tobacco and saddle leather. Incredibly soft on entry with young but fine tannins, precise fruit, long." Falstaff
"Medium to deep ruby red with orange-coloured reflections. Attractive, firm cherry fruit nose with balsamic, minty oak notes. Lots of supple, tangy cherry with grippy but polished tannins. A seductive whole that can be savoured now but also lasts a long time." Jancis Robinson
"Compact and exciting young red colour with lots of dark fruit and violets as well as subtle spicy and roasted undertones. Creamy and rich on the palate with balanced acidity. Persistent length with flavours of dried herbs on the finish. Needs more time to mellow." James Suckling
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is wild, opening with a savoury burst of spiced orange and clove before settling on black cherry and ashen rock. It feels creamy and seductive, with a wave of rich red fruit flowing easily across the palate, guided by juicy acidity. Tension builds on the finish as salty minerals mingle with edgy tannins, leaving a pleasantly bitter sensation and leaving the mouth wanting more. Although some patience will be required, I expect the 2019 to exceed expectations after only a few years of cellaring." Vinous
"The La Gerla 2019 Brunello di Montalcino has spicy, dried fruit with blackcurrant, pine cones, juniper berries and a hint of medicinal herbs or camphor ash. The oak is clearly evident in the form of fireflies or crushed cloves. On the palate, this Brunello is rather streamlined, and although the tannins are still slightly chalky, they are now almost accessible." Wine Advocate
"One of the company's gems, a Brunello of rare reliability. On the nose, notes of red mulberry, then eucalyptus and cinnamon, with hints of gardenia. The sip is savoury, with a return of balsamic sensations and red mulberry. Closes with floral notes." Luca Gardini

“Guidalberto” Toscana IGT 2021
Since Guidalberto has been vinified from its own grapes, most of which also grow in the Sassicaia DOC monopoly position, San Guido's "second wine" has grown beyond itself. Spicy, earthy bouquet with hints of tobacco, clove and lavender, dense and juicy on the palate with fresh red and black berry fruit. The tannins are well balanced and the finish is complex with a majestic elegance that will become even more refined with years of ageing in the bottle. SUPERIORE.DE
"Concentrated and dense, with dark fruit flavors of blackberry, blueberry and black currant, this red also reveals black olive and iron accents. The tannins clamp down for now, yet this is balanced overall, with everything well-proportioned." Wine Spectator
"Aromas of blackcurrants, dark cherries, chocolate, ground spices and crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied with compact but supple and polished tannins. Spicy notes with hints of dried mushrooms and chocolate. Attractive with a lingering finish." James Suckling
"The Guidalberto 2021, an assemblage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from San Guido, is soft, juicy and seductive right from the start. The supple contours of the Merlot lend fleshiness to this medium-bodied, racy Maremma blend. Ripe red cherry fruit, spice, leather and tobacco are beautifully brought to the fore. Best of all, the 2021 will be easy to drink right from the start." Vinous
"The Tenuta San Guido 2021 Guidalberto, a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, shows tart cherry fruit with dark blackberry and plum tones. This vintage delivers particularly edgy and focussed fruit characteristics, elegantly framed by light spice, cola and earth. This vintage shows a heightened sense of intensity and territorial identity that is the hallmark of this storied winery." Wine Advocate
"Sparkling, intense ruby-purple colour. Opens with appealing notes of mint, blackberry and mulberry, with spicy cedar wood in the background. Fine-meshed, polished tannins characterise the palate, present, clear fruit, beautiful drinking flow." Falstaff
"According to Carlo Paoli, the winemaking director of Tenuta San Guido, the 2021 is the best Guidalberto he has ever produced. The proportion of Merlot was reduced to the typical 40% this year because the quality of the Cabernet Sauvignon was so good. The Guidalberto 2021 has a very deep colour, almost black with a narrow purple rim. It took about an hour to really open up, but then it had a wonderful range of aromas and flavours. Notes of cassis and blueberries, blue flowers, violets and iris are followed by a palate full of perfectly ripe blackberries and blueberries enveloped in smooth, creamy flavours. A wine of velvety richness balanced by vibrant acidity, with very pure, concentrated aromas and flavours. Delicious!" Decanter
"This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which has now undergone a refined stylistic redesign, also stands out: a wine with a nose of blackberries, with notes of Mediterranean scrub and rhubarb, then nuances of eucalyptus. Taut and crisp, with spicy tannins, juicy and beautifully persistent." Luca Gardini

“Vigneti La Selvanella” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
As always, the Chianti Classico La Selvanella Riserva presents itself as an exemplary wine. Deep, dark ruby red in colour. Complex aromas of ripe plums, raspberries, candied orange zest and hints of spice harmonise perfectly. Well-articulated and rich flavour with polished tannins, full-bodied and progressive. SUPERIORE.DE
"Clear aroma of ripe black berries and rose hips with dried floral and slightly herbal aromas, a hint of leather, some dark ethereal spice, tobacco ash and hints of herbs. Ripe, clear and firm, tart-juicy fruit, present, yet quite fine tannins, some smoke and toast on the palate, a certain acid bite, dried-vegetable to herbaceous tones, good persistence. Has power, but still a certain coolness, very good, firm finish with oregano." Wein-Plus
"Bright ruby red with a subtly brightening rim. Smells of graphite, dark berry fruit and fine earthy tones on the nose. Polished on the palate, with a juicy core and a clear fruit flavour, the tannins remain subtly in the background." Falstaff
"Dried cherries, dates, oak, leather, damp leaves and French toast. Good fruit concentration, soft mouthfeel, lively acidity and a long finish. The powerful tannins need some time to resolve." Decanter
"A fragrant red with a shy nose of blue fruits, dried herbs and some crushed rocks and raspberries. Tightly wound and medium to full-bodied with delicate red fruit flavours. Very compact, with an elegant stiffness that is very appealing. Pure Sangiovese from a single vineyard in Radda in Chianti, one of the highest villages in Chianti Classico. It is already drinkable now, but I would like to taste it again in a few years." James Suckling

“Cont' Ugo” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2022
Dark ruby purple in colour, with a blackcurrant aroma and an excellent length, firm tannins, fine extract sweetness and a pronounced spicy note on the final. We are excited to see what elegant heights this great Tuscan Merlot will reach in the coming years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, ruby-red core, with a brightening rim. Dark, fleshy fruit on the nose of blackberry, black cherry, on ebony, pipe tobacco, juniper. Soft and creamy on the palate, juicy fruit coated in chocolate, firm tannins, long finish." Falstaff
"The 2022 Cont'Ugo, offers terrific freshness, especially for the year. There's a bit of edginess in the tannin from the challenges of the growing season. Even so, what comes through most is the move toward greater vibrancy in the wines." Vinous
"This is a wonderfully polished and creamy red wine. Notes of chocolate biscuits, dark plums, cloves and dark cherries on the nose, as well as some graphite, followed by a full-bodied, lush and supple palate." James Suckling
"This red wine is decidedly fruity with aromas and flavours of black cherries, blackberries, plums, liquorice, cedar wood and oak spices. A smooth version with excellent balance and a long aftertaste. Shows just enough grip to give it weight." Wine Spectator

“Asinone” Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2021 (BIO)
Its dense, intense colour has a lush bouquet, whose fruity hints of blackberries, sour cherries and blueberries are given an elegant touch by the delicate, very subtle wood spice. In the rich, firm flavour, the smooth tannin is well fused with the structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Warm-scented nose with a potpourri of berry fruit and fine spice, floral aromas and orange zest; still very youthful in the mouth with accentuated acidity and racy, albeit tightly woven tannins, the finish becomes increasingly opulent with aeration. Excellently made, should definitely mature." Vinum
"The nose is floral and earthy, with aromas of rosewater, herbs, damp earth and black cherries, as well as hints of cola and fresh pepper. On the palate, tart blackberries accentuate a persistent interplay between black cherry, pepper and herbal notes. Taut tannins reinforce a latent warmth." Wine Enthusiast
"Fresh and balanced, this red wine displays flavours of cherries, raspberries, flowers, minerals and tobacco. It offers depth and a supple texture that is balanced by a base of grippy tannins. Overall elegant, with fine length." Wine Spectator
"A flavoursome, opulent Vino Nobile with roasted sesame seeds, spices, ripe plums and citrus fruits. A firm frame of tannins envelops the citrus fruit. Firm, long and still a little chewy. Needs at least another year to develop." James Suckling
"The 2021 Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone is dark, floral and intense. It smells of crushed blackberries and cherries, accompanied by a hint of ash stone. A hint of sage gives it a lovely flavour. The palate is cool and supple, with an energetic mix of tart wild berries and complementary purple floral tones. The 2021 is grippy and pleasantly chewy, finishing with edgy tannins and a hint of residual acidity that leaves you wanting more. I like the liveliness of this wine." Vinous

“Rosso del Conte” Sicilia Contea di Sclafani DOC 2018
Deep crimson ruby red colour. On the nose, it smells of raspberries with beautiful concentration, a peppery tingle and perfectly integrated oak. Lively, crushed red berry fruit on the palate with long, finely chiselled tannins. It closes up a little on the finish, so you can expect much more, but for now it is already irresistible. Balanced and very elegant. SUPERIORE.DE
"Excellent blend of Nero d'Avola and Perricone: complex bouquet with aromas of stone fruit and wild berries; complex on the palate, with noticeable acidity, tightly woven tannins, persistent." Vinum
"Dark ruby red with violet reflections. Delicate, inviting nose, lots of fruit, cherries and plums, redcurrant, backed by fresh herbs and a hint of vanilla. Harmonious and elegant on the palate, noble, silky tannins, vibrant acidity, juicy and animating right into the long final." Falstaff
"Ripe strawberries with blackberries and a hint of tar. Full to medium body with strong tannins and a chewy and juicy finish. Very structured. A wine to age in the cellar. Still very young. Try after 2025." James Suckling
"Hints of exotic spice and cedar shavings waft over to reveal black raspberries, cocoa and dried roses as the 2018 Rosso del Conte slowly develops in the glass. It is incredibly fresh, cool and youthfully balanced, with a depth of tart wild berry fruit accompanied by a hint of blood orange and a zesty core of acidity. The 2018 tapers long, classically dry and structured, but retains its freshness. A minty note persists alongside a balsamic hint and a tart crispness from the cranberries." Vinous

Deep dark ruby red. Ripe notes of dried small currants and blackberries, plus some smoke and tobacco - this is Sangiovese in concentrated form. Lush and fleshy on the palate, with firm body, spicy nuances, multilayered fruit and a wonderful finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2018 Petresco is another stellar wine from Le Cinciole. Bright and focused, with striking explosive energy, Petresco sizzles with tension. Black cherry, coffee, spice, leather, incense, lavender and plum all run through a linear, driving pure Sangiovese that is going to need at least a few years to come together. "The Tunella 2022 Friuli Colli Orientali Biancosesto emphasises its modernist style with a very rich and creamy texture that comes from ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels. The blend consists of equal parts Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, and the fruit benefits from marl and sandstone soils that develop freshness and sweet concentration. “Nerosanloré" Nero d’Avola Sicilia DOC 2012 (BIO) late release
For some years now, Matteo Catania has been holding back a few hundred bottles of his wines in the best vintages in order to offer them to his most loyal importers after a few years. From this "private reserve" comes Nerosanloré 2012, which is now - in spring 2023 - offered in small quantities with 7 years of further bottle ageing quasi in Riserva quality.
An exceptionally characterful and powerful Nero d'Avola is the Nerosanloré. From a beautiful vineyard in Pacchino, the area of origin of the famous vine. Mineral, vital, ripe, elegant, long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep ruby red. Refined, highly complex aromas of blueberries, flint, exotic spices, faded flowers, cumin and cardamom. Bright, juicy and penetrating on the palate, with great mid-palate energy and a brooding quality to the very deep but currently subtle spicy red and blue fruit flavours. It rises impressively on the back palate, which is elegant and perfumed, with soft, fine-grained tannins, a restrained sweetness and a lingering flinty nuance. A remarkably deep, complex NeroSanlorè." VINOUS

“Renaissance” Sauvignon Bianco Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2020
Sauvignon Blanc Renaissance Riserva is only bottled in the best vintages and is wildly floral and herbaceous with nuances of green apple and ginger. The palate is round and supple with ripe orchard fruits emphasised by salty minerals, while the lively acidity retains a beautiful inner freshness. Here, the aromatic spectrum of the grape variety is expressed in the very best way - it finishes strongly with a spicy note that lingers for a long time. Great Sauvignon cinema! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, light green-yellow in colour. Very expressive nose with notes of grapefruit and pineapple, plus spicy thyme and some tomato green, which adds tension. Fills the palate full, juicy fruit paired with fine spicy notes, radiant and long." Falstaff
"Inviting aromas of minerals and woody notes, then peppers, lemon, apple and plenty of oak on the palate." Decanter
"The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Riserva Renaissance begins with a reductive note of lit matches and pencil shavings. The wine matures in oak and on lees to offer a full-bodied mouthfeel with accents of ripe nectarine, lemon and stone fruit. The reductive note diminishes but does not disappear completely. Only 3,000 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate
"Crushed stone, curry leaves and sage give way to musky dried peaches and apricots as the 2020 Sauvignon Blanc Riserva Renaissance blossoms in the glass. It is youthfully coiled and intense, with a dense, silky wave of ripe pit fruit and exotic spices, underscored by salty minerals and savoury spice. The palate is characterised by primary concentration, with a tart lemon zest resonating. The best is yet to come." Vinous
"A wonderful Sauvignon Riserva that benefits from the spectacular microclimate of the Isarco Valley at the foot of the Sciliar. On the nose, notes of white melon, wild rosemary, a hint of cedar and elderflower. Salty on the palate, with a fruity, citrusy finish." Luca Gardini

“Badia a Passignano” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020
Badia a Passignano is always one of the many highlights in the Antinori range and is probably the estate's most refined and elegant Sangiovese. Its character is medium-bodied and supple, but with plenty of fruit intensity, which is typical of the vineyard of the same name. It skilfully strikes a balance between richness and finesse, captivating from the very first sip. Lavender, mint, blue-purple fruit and liquorice are beautifully brought out. It is a very traditional and noble expression of the Tuscan grape that is hard to resist. SUPERIORE.DE
"Starts with a lot of esprit on aromas of small red berries, also violet notes; the attack is fresh and juicy, the tannins fine-grained, the finish on notes of fresh stone fruit. Convinces with its polish." Vinum
"Bright ruby red with a violet tinge. Intense, dense nose, lots of fruit, plum, cherry and blackberry, backed by balsamic notes and fresh Mediterranean herbs. Lots of juice on the palate, harmonious, round, acidity and tannins well integrated, builds up pressure towards the end via tannin structure, long finish." Falstaff
"The 2020 is clean, polite and rather glossy. Classic red cherry and fresh garden herbs become saturated with vanilla. Supple tannins build up giving a pliant frame to sweet ripe fruit tinged with cedar and clove. Warm, soft and already approachable, this will give maximum pleasure over the next five years." Decanter
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Badia a Passignano 2020 shows an evolution towards a more refined style, even in the context of this wine, which is always a powerhouse. Blue and purple-coloured fruit, lavender, menthol, spices and liquorice are well developed. It is less powerful than in most years, and that is a good thing. The direction the wine is taking is promising." Vinous
"This wine is really velvety and open with a flattering texture that tantalises with every sip. Medium-bodied with marvellous brightness and complexity. It's so hard not to drink it now. So why wait, but it will age beautifully." James Suckling
"The nose balances fruit aromas of strawberry, cherry and raspberry with weightier, savory notes of soil, graphite and dark chocolate. The cohesive, equally balanced palate brings more berries and chocolate, creating a classic, measured, self-assured Chianti." Wine Enthusiast
"Laced with pure flavors of cherry and raspberry and shaded by a spicy oak element, this bright, balanced red is elegant yet reveals fine intensity. Light tannins line the lingering finish as iron and tobacco notes join in." Wine Spectator

“Il Borro” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019 (BIO)
The top wine from the winery of the same name presents itself in an exemplary manner and as a kind of reference for many other so-called Super Tuscans in the region. Deep ruby red in colour with light red reflections. Dark fruit, spices, herbs, some leather and a fine tarry note on the nose. The flavours then unfold powerfully and concentrated on the palate, yet it glides velvety with a wonderfully balanced acid-tannin ratio into a rich, well-proportioned and long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful attack with notes of forest fruits and spices; combines character with elegance, the tannins are fine-grained and interact with the acidity, with a polished final and length." Vinum
"On the nose, sour cherries and blackberries roll around in earth and wild herbs, then spread out on the palate over flavours of vanilla, dark chocolate and espresso. Lively acidity and penetrating spiciness emphasise the earthy saltiness that Il Borro expresses in a unique way. Lush but refined." Wine Enthusiast
"The Il Borro 2019 Il Borro shows very good definition of each of its components. The Syrah brings freshness and lift to the bouquet. The Merlot is aged in botte grande to bring out an authentic taste of the variety with earth and soil. The Cabernet Sauvignon gives firmness and structure. Bigger oak casks are used to help mitigate the alcohol content that, in the case of this wine, comes in at 15%." Wine Advocate
"Fresh and floral with aromas of black cherry and lavender, leading to a medium body with well-integrated tannins that spread nicely across the palate. It becomes silky and beautiful. A hint of smoke and spice at the end. Crisp on the finish." James Suckling

“Nerosanloré" Nero d’Avola Terre Siciliane IGT 2019 (BIO)
Of the four Gulfi-Cru, this is the vineyard closest to the sea, less than 700 metres away and only 10-15 metres above sea level. With vines that grow on sandy soils.
Precise aromas of ripe red cherries, flint, orange peel, lavender and violets. Silky and juicy on the palate, with a refined but very concentrated extract that almost crushes the taste buds, yet remains lively and not at all heavy, giving the flavours of red cherries, raspberries, flowers and minerals beautiful definition and lift. The finish is very deep and long, with very soft tannins, a beguiling perfume and extreme finesse; very Barolo-like. A beautiful, multi-layered wine that shows the elegant side of Nero d'Avola that few producers are ever able to present. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich and tangy with some baked cherries, cassis, mulberries, dried flowers and peppercorns. Juicy and full-bodied on the palate with fine, plush tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish." James Suckling
"A blend of crushed plums, rose petals, lavender and Violette pastille creates a deeply seductive bouquet as the 2019 NeroSanloré blossoms in the glass. This is a model of grace and elegance with silky textures, vividly ripe red and blue fruits elevated by sour citrus and a core of stimulating acidity. It finishes long and staining, with sweet tannins that frame the experience beautifully as tangerine and blackberry fade. The 2019 NeroSanloré is to die for; what a gorgeous Nero d'Avola." Vinous

“Fontanasanta” Manzoni Bianco Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2023 (BIO) · MAGNUM
A small marvel, perfectly harmonised with multi-layered aromas of tropical fruits, apples and honey. A highly interesting white natural wine that is far more than just a casual pleasure, as it offers an extremely full, well-structured flavour. Fermented with the skins using the red wine method. Strong yellow colour with golden reflections. Intense aroma of dried herbs, incense, candied lemon peel and a hint of bitter orange. Fresh citrus notes on the palate, an exciting acidity and a powerful structure lead into a very long finish, crowned by a hint of bitter almonds. Very complex and a wonderful accompaniment to food - be sure to aerate! SUPERIORE.DE

“1919” Metodo Classico Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2017 extra brut
1919 is the undisputed top product among Kettmeir's sparkling wines. This is where all the expertise of the South Tyrolean company, which produces using the traditional bottle fermentation method, comes to the fore. The Chardonnay base wine matures in wood, the Pinot Nero in stainless steel tanks. Both base wines are then blended and matured for at least 60 months in the bottle on the fine lees.
The result is a concert for the senses: a complex, multi-layered bouquet of citrus fruit, dried fruit and spices. Bread, smoke and minerals round off the exciting picture. On the palate, we are delighted by the freshness and depth, which never give the impression that there is too much of anything here, but that everything is precisely in its place. Tight tension on the palate, a lively and vibrant personality, flavour, spice and sensuality are combined with a seriousness and room-filling presence that rightly places the 1919 among Italy's great Spumanti. SUPERIORE.DE"Elegant and aromatic, with hints of flower, mango and guava; zesty fruit, bright acidity and citrus on the palate." Decanter

They are 100% dried in small crates in the historic rooms of Pojega. Captivating blend of dusty black cherry and blueberry, complemented by a spice box full of cloves and dried flowers. Very elegant on the palate with a core of minerality and bright dark red fruits that cascade over the palate. Finishes well-structured with balsamic herbs and mocha, while the residual acids retain a lovely freshness. Wonderfully balanced and convincing! SUPERIORE.DE

“Ugo Contini Bonacossi” Rosso Toscana IGT 2018 (BIO)
This impressive red comes from the single vineyard "Vitticciana", which was created by the "Godfather of Carmignano" Ugo Contini Bonacossi especially for a pure Sangiovese wine due to its perfect orientation. It is only produced in the best years, when it presents itself as a multi-layered wine with fine fruit and fine-grained tannins. After a few years of ageing in the bottle, it can easily hold its own with some of the best Brunello di Montalcino. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, medium ruby red with a slightly brightening rim. Red sour cherries and pickled plums on the nose, with some verbena and spice in the background. Velvety tannins on the palate, well-balanced, still a little young on the final." Falstaff
"A hint of floral and spicy notes, with beautiful, pure fruit underneath. Very well-managed tannins and a long finish." Decanter
"A hint of dusty spices and pencil shavings accompany the ripe cherry and plum fruit flavours. Juicy and very lively on the palate with medium to full body and firm, metallic tannins that are firmly attached to the finish. Needs time." James Suckling
"The 2018 Ugo Contini Bonacossi, a varietal Sangiovese, evolves in the glass with a rich blend of cherry and plum sauce, accentuated and lifted by hints of sage and sweet mint. This is velvety smooth yet full of zesty energy, with a core of nervous acidity that enlivens its sour red and black berry fruits. The 2018 finishes long and staining yet light on its feet, leaving edgy tannins to resonate as the cheeks pucker with youthful tension. I expect the 2018 to evolve sooner than bigger vintages, but with that said, it is no less pleasurable." Vinous

Contrada R (Rampante) Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2019
Contrada Rampante grows on the highest vineyard of Passopisciaro. The soils have a higher sand content and the harvest takes place later here. On the nose, dark red cherries, flowers, mint and liquorice. Rampante is an elegant, energetic red with clear fruit and silky tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium ruby red. Brooding and hinted at ripe red fruits with iodine notes, oatmeal and still embryonic. Plenty of tannic raspberry fruit. Very long, juicy and energetic, tannic and perfumed. Big, long tannic bite on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Contrada Rampante (R) vintage exudes a dramatic but incredibly pretty bouquet of dried flowers, exotic spices, smoke and sour cherries. It is softly textured and refined, with bright acidity that further enlivens the tart red berries. It leaves a hint of minerality, along with fine tannins that only emerge at the very end, when the hints of sour citrus and inner rose tones fade. The Rampante vineyard is the highest site where Passopisciaro grows Nerello Mascalese, at 1,000 metres." Vinous
"Hints of eucalyptus and liquorice on the nose continue on the palate of this fresh red wine, which offers flavours of plump cherries and ripe currants, a mineral underpinning and a crisp framework of chalky tannins. It's enjoyable now, but should also show well with a short ageing period." Wine Spectator
"the Vini Franchetti 2019 Contrada R is characterized by plummy black fruit at its core and a richer, softer texture compared to some of the other single-vineyard wines in this series. It is tight and quite structured despite its luminous ruby shine and medium-light appearance. There are salty mineral notes on the close, even some crushed white pepper, to remind you of this spectacular volcanic landscape." Wine Advocate
"Smoky flint, dark spices, blue flowers and wild berries and a hint of hay come to the fore. The elegant, structured palate is racy and full of mineral tension, offering crushed raspberries, pomegranate, liquorice and ground cloves before an almost salty, mineral finish. Taut, refined tannins and fresh acidity provide the framework." Wine Enthusiast

Brunello di Montalcino “La Casa” DOCG 2018
Bright, intense ruby-garnet colour. Multi-layered aromas of sweet red fruits meld into rose petals, liquorice, spices and mint. Firm and polished on the palate, floral notes provide vibrancy, finely woven tannins and balanced acidity provide structure and stability, beautifully articulated and juicy on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A classic, with a seductive bouquet of berries and blossoms; a beautiful finish, invigorating acidity, the perfect blend of elegant juiciness and pithy substance that should definitely be enjoyed with food." Vinum
"The aroma already shows a lot of intensity with ripe cherries and plums, plus a bouquet of floral notes, violets, lavender, but also "powerful" notes such as iron, blood and cedar wood. Very dense on the palate, with present, still slightly restraining but mature tannins, sweet berry fruits, shows, as so often, origin and character with a lot of Sangiovese spice. Bravo!" Weinwisser
"Quite firm, moderately woody-spicy, slightly dried-vegetable aroma of mixed berries and a little cherry with a hint of leather, dried meat, tobacco and some black olives. Ripe, youthful, firm, juicy fruit, present, ripe, crumbly-sandy tannins and a delicate bite, light tobacco and pencil wood notes in the background, a hint of iced confectionery, roasted nuances and coffee, good substance and persistence, a certain depth, salt in the background, relatively accessible at first, but closes up a little with air, very good, juicy and spicy finish." Wein-Plus
"Brilliant ruby colour with a fine garnet sheen. Compact nose with notes of dark cherry, raspberry and tobacco, some beetroot in the background. Polished and finely meshed tannin structure, dark berry fruit, shows increasing pressure on the final, a highly elegant Brunello." Falstaff
"The Brunello di Montalcino 2018 Vigna La Casa was born in a beautiful vineyard with long vistas and warm sunsets. You can definitely taste the sweet spice and cinnamon from the barrel ageing, but the wine also presents a good amount of dark fruits and plums. It finishes with soft tannins and even a hint of oaky sweetness that emphasises its accessibility." Wine Advocate
"The Brunello di Montalcino Vigna La Casa 2018 emerges from the glass with a beguiling blend of exotic spices, balsamic herbs, crushed ash stones and dried black cherries. It washes over the palate with a silky wave of ripe dark fruit, complemented by notes of liquorice and cocoa. Fine-grained tannins frame the finish, while residual acids keep the mouth watering and the plum notes fade under a hint of purple flowers. This is a radiant rendition of La Casa, a vineyard located on the crest of the Montosoli hill, opposite the town of Montalcino." Vinous
"The nose features floral aromas of roses, pomegranates, cherries and oranges, along with fresh undertones of soil and graphite. On the palate, the fruit sweetens, before a warm, spicy finish. Refined tannins create a silky, sensuous mouthfeel." Wine Enthusiast
"The other great classic from Montosoli cru, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary since it was first marketed. Redcurrants on the nose, a hint of wild sage and liquorice. It is dense and very persistent on the palate." Luca Gardini
"Leads with graphite and oak spice aromas, with flavours of plum, black cherry, eucalyptus and tobacco lurking underneath. Dense, with firm but polished tannins and guided by a lively acidity, it finishes with a long, complex aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"Lots of blue and sweet berry fruit with heady rose and floral notes on the nose, plus hot chocolate, sandalwood, toffee and nutmeg. It is full-bodied with ripe, muscular tannins that are superbly integrated. Powerful, but with a transparency and clarity that lends it beauty. Long, graceful finish. Better from 2024."
