Brunello di Montalcino “Montosoli” DOCG 2019
Altesinos Montosoli displays the famous characteristics of this particular site, which are always characterised by a pronounced mineral intensity, with hints of crushed granite and lead pencil layers. The five-hectare vineyard has a higher concentration of Galestro clay-slate rock, and the altitude contributes to the freshness of the wine.
Dark, haunting beautiful bouquet with ripe blackberries and cherries, spicy dark flowers and a hint of animal musk. Velvety textures on the palate, emphasised by tart red and black fruits, plus juicy acidity and a hint of fine tannin. The finish is long, elegant and mineral, with dark, floral notes, ripe blackberries and sweet spices. A real prime example from the extremely harmonious 2019 vintage! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, pure ruby red colour. Very fragrant nose of wild strawberries, blackberry candy, vanilla pod, with light spice, some mint and red peach on the finish. On the palate with a great fruit core, on stone fruit, fine sweetness, plus finesse-rich creaminess, comes in several layers, clear and elegant until the long finish." Falstaff
"This enticing wine is long, complex and harmonious, exuding macerated cherry, plum, lavender and spice flavors. The ripe fruit is offset by woodsy underbrush notes, all backed by a vibrant structure." Wine Spectator
"Harvested at the very end of September, the 2019 is introverted at first, but the nose eventually hints at porcini mushrooms with liquorice root and bark. On the palate, slender cherries and raspberries form the backdrop, but the earthy tone is pervasive. It's racy with soft, vertical tannins that settle in all the right places, showing a skilfully balanced structure and richness." Decanter
"A tantalising blend of macerated plums, blood oranges, sage and sweet smoke makes the 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli a true delight on the nose. Elegant and soothing, it flows across the palate with a silky wave of ripe red fruit and spice, while salty minerals slowly saturate under a hint of purple inner flowers. The 2019 is seamless and harmonious, leaving a layer of edgy tannins competing with refreshing acidity, while hints of tart cranberry and a bitter hint of clove slowly fade away. This is Montosoli terroir at its best, and even at this early stage it's impossible to resist savouring another glass." Vinous
"The Altesino 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli, from a beautiful site that must be seen to be believed, smells of dark fruit, blackcurrant and slate. The mineral element of Montosoli and its slatey, galestro soils comes through beautifully in this vintage, giving the bouquet a linear sense of immediacy and verticality. The mouthfeel is particularly elegant and the wine's acidity is skilfully used to emphasise the freshness, but above all the quality of the fruit. The effect is very powerful and bright, and thanks to the careful ageing in Slavonian oak, you get a hint of baked brioche or Italian focaccia bread." Wine Advocate
"Perfumed and beautiful with raspberry and cherry aromas and flavours. Purity like a mountain stream. Medium to full body with ultra-refined tannins that are so polished and beautiful. Lasts for minutes. Beautiful and real." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Beautifully weighted, the 2019 edition is full yet agile with enough structure to carry it over the next decade. Above all, it emphasises the freshness and balance of the vintage: the aromas unfold slowly, but are very floral, with cherry and thyme blossoms underscored by peppery notes. Crisp red plums and juicy cherries dominate the palate, with the youthful, grippy tannins needing a little time to integrate perfectly. SUPERIORE.DE
"It opens with a fruity flavour of red and blue fruits, with spicy notes reminiscent of cinnamon and cardamom. Dense and creamy in the mouth, very juicy, still a little grippy in the tannins, a modern Brunello that should be ready to drink in 1 to 2 years." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby red colour. Ripe blackberries, some undergrowth, dried oregano and loam on the nose. Great tension on the palate, juicy, dark fruit, tightly woven tannins and a precise final with pressure." Falstaff
"Deep to dark ruby red in colour. Deep, brooding and backward on the nose, but with real precision. Lots of juicy red fruit and impressive, fine-grained tannins. Still a little embryonic, but already hard to resist. Pure class." Jancis Robinson
"Pure and refined wine with lively raspberries, red cherries, rosehips and a hint of citrus blossom. Medium to full-bodied with firm but silky tannins. Excellent acid backbone. Enjoyable now, but give it another two to three years to develop." James Suckling
"Deep notes of dried black cherries meet cedar shavings and worn leather as the seductive Brunello di Montalcino 2019 slowly unfolds in the glass. It is surprisingly juicy and energising, with a pure blend of red fruits and inner flowers accompanied by fresh acidity. Fine tannins assert themselves on the finish as the 2019 takes on a youthful tension and pinches the cheeks, while tart cranberry notes fade into a youthful, crisp final." Vinous
"The certified organic Col d'Orcia 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows ripe fruit, blackberry, earthy notes, liquorice and, generally speaking, a much bigger and riper fruit profile compared to its peers. It offers a full-bodied Brunello opulence that can be enjoyed in the short or medium term, and the wine delivers flavours of dried fruit such as plum and fig to finish. The tannins are velvety and contribute to the richness of the rather forward and immediate mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 is immediately inviting and expressive. It seduces with lovely tones of red rose, cherry and sweet thyme. Expansive and spacious, the palate unfolds fluidly with layers of delicious red plum and pomegranate. Hibiscus, rosewater and orange hide in every crevice. A brilliant demonstration of the flavourful juiciness of Sangiovese. Deceptively gentle at the start, fine sandy tannins build in a worthy crescendo." Decanter
"This densely packed version is resonant and persistent, with fine integration of all its components, though today it is compact and austere, revealing flavours of cherry, raspberry, rose, earth and minerals. Give it the benefit of the doubt." Wine Spectator
"Notes of marasca, geranium and eucalyptus on the nose. Juicy tannins on the palate, balsamic and floral notes, compact flavour and crispness." Luca Gardini

“Vigna Au” Chardonnay Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2020
From deep moraine soil with a high salt and limestone content, Vigna Au first opens with flint and walnut and then beguiles with a complex bouquet of yellow, exotic fruits. Intense, juicy, with just the right amount of acidity, it has a maturation potential of at least 15 years. Just 2,000 bottles of this exceptional Chardonnay are bottled each year. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, elegant light gold colour. Discreet hazelnuts and pine nuts on the nose, then cold smoke, subtle pineapple and banana, roasted hazelnuts in the background. Juicy and with very good tension, shows lots of crisp fruit, well-integrated acidity, very long finish, fun." Falstaff
"The Vigna Au lies at a relatively low altitude of 300 metres above sea level in Kurtatsch-Margreid. Great aromas, with very clear citrus fruit and flavours of yellow fruit, paired with fine oak spice. Also mineral notes reminiscent of graphite and salt. Extremely juicy, clear and animating on the palate. Pithy final." Vinum
"The 2020 Chardonnay Riserva Vigna AU combines rich notes of almond custard and candy spice with an invigorating blend of crushed green apples and lime zest. Luxuriously round and supple, the 2020 flows across the palate with an abundance of mineral fruit accompanied by sour citrus. Lightly structured yet full of savoury tension, the 2020 finishes long with a saline tension that lingers." Vinous
"Roasted flavours, smoked almonds, nectarines and lemon meringue on the nose, followed by a full, toasty and firm body. Lots of wood, but also ripe fruit. Long finish." James Suckling
"Inviting and elegant nose of peach and white pepper, nectarine on the palate, fresh minerality and lively acidity." Decanter

“Avvoltore” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
Avvoltore is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Powerful and explosive in the glass, it possesses remarkable intensity in all its dimensions, with great fruit and equally impressive tannins. Dark cherry, leather, smoke, tobacco, liquorice and grilled herbs form a virile, imposing Maremma red wine that will need at least a few years to develop its full expressive power. Once again, Morisfarms has done a great job with its flagship wine. SUPERIORE.DE,
"Clear, firm, somewhat smoky and nutty aroma of ripe black and a little red berries with flavours reminiscent of marjoram, partly dried herbs, meaty nuances and a little pepper, tomatoes, sultanas and black olives. Ripe, juicy, slightly warm fruit, youthful, yet crumbly tannins, Mediterranean herbs on the palate, smoke, hints of bacon, pepper and black olives, a little chocolatey wood flavours with notes of candied nuts, persistent on the palate, has power and substance, a little salt in the background, barbecue sauce and sultanas again, very good finish with warm juice and sweetish-tart spice." Wein-Plus
"Ruby red with a dark centre. A nose of currant syrup and figs, also reminiscent of green tea and liquorice. Juicy on the palate, precise and dark fruity, with great tension in the mid-palate, firm pressure and an animating herbal note, good drinking flow, lingering and gentle finish." Falstaff

“Vigna Scarrone” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Barbera d'Alba Scarrone from the vineyard of the same name is a beautifully layered, rich Barbera cru. Aromas of dark fragrant fruits, spices, liquorice and minerals. Opulent and impeccably balanced silky tannins, sweet floral notes in the long dry finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lifted and very aromatic, this wine tantalizes with notes of macerated cherries, wild rose, sandalwood, star anise and wild herbs working with such harmony you have trouble taking the first sip. The lush and round palate bursts with plush red-berried fruits that give way to savory and warm spicy notes finishing with fresh earth notes." Wine Enthusiast
"Deep and intense on the nose with red and dark berries, spicy herbs, dark chocolate and burnt orange peel. Also some wet earth. Full and complex with dusty tannins and a meaty juiciness. Long lasting and bright." James Suckling
"Part of the Scarrone vineyard was replanted in 1989, and from these younger vines comes the Vietti 2020 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone. This wine is also dense and darkly concentrated, but not to the same extent as the version made from the fruit of the old vines. Dark fruits, baked plums and sweet spices add dimension and volume to this wine." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone is outstanding. Rich and expansive, the 2020 is infused with the essence of dark cherry fruit, rose petals, cinnamon, leather and mocha take centre stage. All the elements come together so effortlessly. On the finish, floral and spicy notes reappear. This is such a noble and polished Barbera." Vinous

“Nerobufaleffj” Nero d’Avola Terre Siciliane IGT 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM
Nerobufaleffj is a very unusual wine for Sicily. It offers an aromatic intensity that cannot be found anywhere else in southern Italy. The bouquet is explosive with strong cherries, dried blackberries, tobacco and spices. Subtle hints of cinnamon and crushed clove. An exotic red of high concentration and power with a wonderfully complex, long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very ripe blackberries, baking spices, walnuts and some figs on the nose. Very flavourful and spicy on the palate with fine, silky tannins and a juicy, long finish. Beautiful dried fruit with some walnuts on the finish." James Suckling
"Dark and earthy in the glass, the 2019 NeroBufaleffj opens with a burst of crushed ash stones and earth tones before giving way to dusty blackcurrants and blood oranges. It's very structured, with silky waves of ripe red and black fruit running throughout the wine. The vibrant acidity creates a sense of boundless energy. The 2019 finishes remarkably fresh, yet colourful and long, with edgy tannins that linger as notes of spiced citrus fade. The NeroBufaleffj is already great today, but it is made for the cellar." “Grattamacco” Rosso Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2021 (BIO)
Grattamacco is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese, the latter grape variety certainly contributing to the fresh style of this wine. However, the overall picture is only complete when you realise that the vineyards used for this blend are among the best in the appellation. The Grattamacco Bolgheri Rosso Superiore is characterised by its typical aromas of leaves and Mediterranean forest, with subtle flavours of kiwi peel, cassis, paprika and chocolate. Velvety, youthful and firm on the attack, less light than the Alberello, but more tightly woven and of great elegance. Its length is astonishing, great potential! SUPERIORE.DE
"Stunning berry aromas, facets of dried flowers, pepper and Mediterranean scrub; polished structure with powdery tannins, the accentuated acidity provides youthfulness in the background, then lots of charm and great length on notes of plums, Mediterranean flora and spices." Vinum
"Bright ruby red colour. Expressive, sweet-fruity bouquet of cassis and blackberry, with notes of ebony, tobacco leaf, cocoa and fumé, complex. Spreads across the palate like a silk scarf, with precise fruit and fine-grained tannins, juicy and with gentle pressure right into the long finish." Falstaff
"Medium to dark crimson colour. Very complete and with slightly less obvious tannins than the 2016. Already very approachable and well balanced with a chalky texture at the end. Really charming with a light inkiness. Long and fresh." Jancis Robinson
"The 2021 Grattamacco is a bold, rousing wine that is quite impressive. harvestshould expect a powerful, extroverted red wine with plenty of Bolgheri opulence. There's also plenty of supporting structure, but at this stage it's the wine's intense, ripe profile that carries the day. An explosion of blackberry, scorched earth, new leather, liquorice and incense saturates the palate on the long, lingering finish." Vinous
"Blueberry, blackcurrant and pomegranate flavours are accentuated by oak spice, graphite and rosemary notes in this fresh, long red wine. Taut and lively, with excellent balance and a fine-grained tannin band on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The superb 2021 Bolgheri Superiore Grattamacco is balanced and intense, yet it remains faithful to a medium-plus texture that never feels weighed down. That's one of the best qualities of this classical vintage: you get the power of the fruit with contained concentration and extraction. The bouquet is alive with blackcurrants, cherry, spice and hints of campfire ember. This is one of the jewels of Bolgheri." Wine Advocate
"The result in 2021 is magnificent, with the scent of blackberries and a dense, savoury palate with black and blue berries, silky tannins and sous bois complexity. The wonderful juicy softness of the fruit is enlivened by minty-fresh acidity, a savoury kick and a tasty, almost ferrous finish." Decanter
"This is a different level, with blackcurrants, blueberries and Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary and sage. Also tobacco and coffee beans. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a lingering finish. Sophisticated and thought-provoking. A new level of quality with this wine." James Suckling

“Il Nocio dei Boscarelli” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020
Boscarelli's Il Nocio, a Nobile di Montepulciano from a single vineyard, impressively demonstrates the true essence of the Sangiovese grape and has also been one of the region's quality leaders for years.
Reveals a racy and subtle nose that shows minerals and dusty red berries and strawberries, along with spices, dried flowers and a hint of orange peel. It is dry, elegant and beautifully tart with firm, stony tannins that round out the palate and give a taut and chalky feel with a linear impression. A pure and transparent expression of Sangiovese that will improve with time. Drinkable now, but better from 2026. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a brightening rim. Fragrant, floral nose of violets and lavender, then cherries and undergrowth, medium expression overall. On the palate with a radiant fan, juicy, clear, with tightly woven tannins and great juiciness, comes back in several layers, long." Falstaff
"Firmly in the savory camp, this red evokes balsamic notes of tomato leaf, juniper and eucalyptus, along with strawberry and cherry fruit. Earth, iron and tobacco elements chime in as this plays out on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Crushed blackberries come together with hints of smoke, crushed stone and sage as the 2020 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Il Nocio emerges from the glass. It's silken in feel with a lifted persona as a wave of liquid violet flowers saturates and ripe black cherry tones echo throughout. The 2020 leaves a web of fine-grained tannins and perfumed florals to resonate, finishing long and classically dry." Vinous
"The aromas and flavors of this wine are very pretty, with cherries, orange peel and flowers following through to a medium body with crunchy fruit and a crisp finish. Fine tannins. One of the best Vino Nobiles I have had in a long time." James Suckling

“Monpra” Rosso Langhe DOC 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Classic Rosso from the Langhe, made from 50% Nebbiolo and 50% Barbera grapes from the Ginestra and Bussia districts. Inviting, exuberant Barbera-influenced bouquet of raspberry jam, dark fruit, leather, tar and tobacco. Deep, plump and very inviting, drinky and opulent on the palate. Very accessible even at a young age. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Langhe Rosso Monprà 2020 is a blend of Barbera from old vines (planted in 1971) and Nebbiolo from Bussia Sottana. Juicy and expressive, with plenty of Nebbiolo nerve, the Monprà delivers the goods. Juicy black cherry, gravel, spices, menthol, liquorice, dried flowers and a hint of French oak all come together in this wine. The 2020 is a particularly beautiful edition of the Monprà." Vinous
"The Langhe Rosso Monprà 2020 shows lovely richness and concentration in this hot vintage with dried cherry, blackberry, spice and liquorice (both red and black). The flavours are up front, but the wine shows a streamlined mouthfeel to close gently." Wine Advocate

“Keir” Syrah Toscana IGT 2019
Here comes the third vintage of Stefano Frascolla's heart project from the Alta Maremma. Just 2,500 bottles of this 100% Syrah are bottled, aged (on the skins) for half a year in amphorae, then filtered and matured in small French oak barrels.
Radiant ruby red. On the nose, a seductive mix of cherry with hints of chocolate, herbs and a subtle liquorice note. On the palate, cherry again, complemented by a kaleidoscope of chocolate, coffee and a subtle juniper note. A fabulous acid structure and fine-grained tannins guide the precisely composed wine into a furious final. Keir complements the winery's high-class portfolio in a very independent and emphatic way. Great! SUPERIORE.DE
"Shiny ruby-violet with a little light rim. Opens with fine spicy notes, pepper and ivy, then some cherry, blood orange. On the palate lots of grippy, hearty tannin, dark berries, some tobacco, a little brittle on the final." Falstaff
"The green-tobacco and pepper character is very intense with blackberry and black-cherry undertones. Full-bodied and layered with soft tannins that are creamy and very pretty. A full yet soft-textured palate. Succulent and delicious." James Suckling
"A pure expression of Syrah that spends six months in amphorae, the Tua Rita 2019 Keir Rosso is a gregarious and super fun wine that is a joy to drink and a great conversation starter thanks to the crafty approach used in its winemaking. Long skin maceration times give the wine extra intensity. The tightly pored surface of the clay amphorae (that are fired in kilns at very hot temperatures and long durations) means that the wine gets less oxygen during winemaking. This contributes to its delicate and elegant flavors and ultimately to the promising longevity of this vintage. Keir is not as full-bodied as other Tuscan Syrahs, but the wine shows terrific purity and focus instead. The bouquet offers punchy black fruit, plum, tea leaf and savory tobacco." Wine Advocate
"2019 is for Stefano Frascolla an exceptional vintage - one of the best vintages of the last two decades. Bright magenta in colour with an exuberant nose of vivid sweet blackcurrant, cream and spice, this has youthful raspberry, white pepper and flint flavours mixed with concentrated yet vibrant fruit. Impossible to resist, with a lovely weightless texture and harmony, it dances seamlessly across the palate and disappears with incredible lightness but lingering flavours. Syrah meets Burgundy!" Chardonnay Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
Bright golden colour, full bouquet with explosive aromas of quince, honey, wax, granite, blood orange, vanilla, white chocolate and straw. Initial notes of roasted cashew and almond on the palate, followed by fruit such as white peach, pear and citrus. Exciting and very multi-faceted. SUPERIORE.DE
"Extremely balanced nose of exotic fruits, flanked by bold citrus notes, Mediterranean flowers and spices; the attack is supple, the acidity perfectly integrated and yet a source of finesse and freshness, finishes long and extremely multi-faceted on fruit and balsamic flavours. Very successful." Vinum
"This is a little more subtle than past bottlings and shows freshness and brightness with some crushed stones, dried apples, lemon blossoms and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied with fresh, tangy undertones of sliced pears and honey. Crisp finish. Some stones and just a hint of phenolics at the end. Complex. Best yet?" James Suckling

“Marchese Antinori” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
Since the 2011 vintage, the Riserva Marchese Antinori has been produced one hundred percent from grapes from Tenuta Tignanello. This reduced the production volume and set in motion a further leap in quality. Sparkling ruby, dark wild cherries, graphite, violets and spices in the bouquet. Flowing and round on the palate, very juicy, the French oak adds volume and richness. SUPERIORE.DE
"The name Tenuta Tignanello is emblazoned on the label and already gives a foretaste of the future wines of the Tenute Antinoris under the DOCG Chianti Classico: homely nose of violets and raspberries; well-structured yet elegant on the palate, dense and full-bodied until the balanced fruit finish." Vinum
"Dark ruby. After luscious cherries, precious woods and black pepper in the nose, reminiscent of blackberry jelly in the aftertaste, some rose petal, fine-smelling. Presents itself balanced and with a nice fan on the palate, crisp acidity supports the clear fruit, with a salty core, punchy finish." Falstaff
"This is very lively and energetic with fine tannins and a long, focused finish. Aromatic and bright with berries, plums and flowers. Medium body. with savory acidity and a long finish." James Suckling
"This wine is made exclusively with fruit from the gorgeous Tenuta Tignanello in San Casciano Val di Pesa (home to its namesake wine Tignanello, and Solaia) and sees mostly Sangiovese blended with a smaller part Cabernet Sauvignon and other complementary grapes. The Marchesi Antinori 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori vaunts a smooth and silky personality with ample berry definition and brightness. The previous 2017 vintage revealed more black and purple fruits because of the scorching hot and dry summer that year, but this wine from the cooler 2018 growing season focuses on red raspberry and cherry instead. That fruit is framed by light spice (from Hungarian and French oak) and licorice." Wine Advocate
"Cherry, black currant and raspberry flavors are at the heart of this red, flanked by vanilla, toasty oak, mineral and tobacco elements. There is a beam of ripe fruit and dusty tannins right through the long finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Marchese Antinori offers a beguiling mix of Sangiovese energy and Cabernet Sauvignon savoriness. Translucent and energetic, the 2018 has much to offer. I would prefer to see a bit more Sangiovese character, but the Marchese is designed to be a sort of mini-Tignanello and it leans towards the more savory end of the spectrum because of the presence of Cabernet Sauvignon." "A classic vintage from one of the most iconic Italian winery, from vineyard sgrowing in Mercatale Val di Pesa area. Balanced and firm, Sangiovese with a little contribution of Cabernet Sauvignon, displays an intense and velvety nose recalling raspberries, then scents of red flowers and a balsamic trace at the end. Juicy and fresh mouthfeel with a good texture. Convincing
persistence." Luca Gardiniread more- Grape Varieties: 90% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon

“Asinone” Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2021 (BIO) · MAGNUM
Its dense, intense colour has a lush bouquet, whose fruity hints of blackberries, sour cherries and blueberries are given an elegant touch by the delicate, very subtle wood spice. In the rich, firm flavour, the smooth tannin is well fused with the structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Warm-scented nose with a potpourri of berry fruit and fine spice, floral aromas and orange zest; still very youthful in the mouth with accentuated acidity and racy, albeit tightly woven tannins, the finish becomes increasingly opulent with aeration. Excellently made, should definitely mature." Vinum
"The nose is floral and earthy, with aromas of rosewater, herbs, damp earth and black cherries, as well as hints of cola and fresh pepper. On the palate, tart blackberries accentuate a persistent interplay between black cherry, pepper and herbal notes. Taut tannins reinforce a latent warmth." Wine Enthusiast
"Fresh and balanced, this red wine displays flavours of cherries, raspberries, flowers, minerals and tobacco. It offers depth and a supple texture that is balanced by a base of grippy tannins. Overall elegant, with fine length." Wine Spectator
"A flavoursome, opulent Vino Nobile with roasted sesame seeds, spices, ripe plums and citrus fruits. A firm frame of tannins envelops the citrus fruit. Firm, long and still a little chewy. Needs at least another year to develop." James Suckling
"The 2021 Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone is dark, floral and intense. It smells of crushed blackberries and cherries, accompanied by a hint of ash stone. A hint of sage gives it a lovely flavour. The palate is cool and supple, with an energetic mix of tart wild berries and complementary purple floral tones. The 2021 is grippy and pleasantly chewy, finishing with edgy tannins and a hint of residual acidity that leaves you wanting more. I like the liveliness of this wine." Vinous

“Keir” Syrah Toscana IGT 2022
Just 2,500 bottles of this 100% Syrah are bottled, aged (on the skins) for six months in amphorae, then filtered and matured in small French oak barrels.
Brilliant ruby red colour. On the nose, a seductive blend of cherry with hints of chocolate, herbs and a fine liquorice note. Cherry again on the palate, complemented by a kaleidoscope of chocolate, coffee and a subtle juniper note. A fabulous acidity structure and fine-grained tannins guide this precisely composed wine to a furious final. Keir complements the winery's high-class portfolio in a very independent and emphatic way. Magnificent! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, powerful ruby colour with a violet rim. Smells of wild strawberries and candy floss, some blackberry, followed by spicy notes of rosemary and thyme. Plump and juicy fruit on the palate, very precise and clear, thrilling on the finish with very well-placed tannins and firm pressure." Falstaff
"The 2022 edition was a little closed initially, showing dark fruit and blackberry traits nevertheless. The wine is concentrated and texturally rich. The hot vintage is perhaps less focused on vertical aromas and more focused on the broader impact of the mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"A juicy and chocolaty red wine with cloves, black pepper and a hint of terracotta. Medium-bodied with round and crisp fruit and a light hazelnut and clove finish. Just a hint of dark chocolate." James Suckling

“Masari” Rosso Veneto Valle d’Agno IGT 2018 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
Masari's flagship presents itself in a deep, dense garnet red colour. Ripe blackberry and cassis on the nose, underpinned by bitter cocoa and ripe cherries, light leather spice and liquorice. Full and balanced on the palate, slowly but complexly spreads over the tongue, then convinces with beautiful and lasting pressure, long, salty and simply wonderful. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright, very rich ruby red colour. The nose initially smells of marzipan and precious wood, then opens up to fine wild berry fruit, blackberry and milk chocolate. On the palate with a profound depth and a great stony feel, tight tannins, fine salinity and clear, floral, sweet fruit, lingers for a long time, still a little grippy on the finish." Falstaff
"A Bordeaux-inspired blend with a detailed tannic kit, conferring depth and a je ne sais quoi seriousness, while evincing structural authority to a wave of tapenade, anise, cassis, dried sage and alpine herb. The oak is evident, but a mere adjunct rather than a yelp. A very fine example, possibly worth an additional point with the complexity that time will surely imbue." James Suckling

“Tor di Lupo” Lagrein Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021 · MAGNUM in gift box
Deep and impenetrable. Tor di Lupo shows opulent fruit with dried plums and prunes. It is a full-bodied and dense red wine that goes best with succulent meats such as lamb or steak. There is a hint of bitter almond on the long, generous finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense, fruity bouquet with blue and black berries, including very ripe red fruit. On the palate, it has a velvety strength and texture, quite melting without appearing fat, more like an athlete dressed in velvet." Weinwisser
"Deep dark, almost black purple colour. Somewhat closed on the nose with earthy notes and hints of tar and blackberries. More accessible in the mouth with savoury fruit, dark chocolate, juicy, long and persistent on the finish." Falstaff
"Powerful, dense purple colour. Dark chocolate, elderberry juice, blackberry on the nose. Surprisingly lively acidity, keeps the tension in the mouth, plus floral notes, blue violets. The tannin is highly elegant, powerful, not at all angular. Finishes with spicy notes, especially tobacco." Vinum
"Elegant and aromatic, with notes of ripe red berries and spices that lead to black plums and sultanas on the palate." Decanter
"On the nose, it shows decadence and a deep forest character with aromas of dark berries, black mushrooms, old wood and black berries that develop into a medium body with fine layers of tannins and a concentrated finish." James Suckling

“Castello Fonterutoli” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castellina DOCG 2021 · MAGNUM in OWC
Since summer 2023, Chianti Classico producers have been allowed to include the eleven additional geographical indications (UGA = unità geografiche aggiuntive) introduced in 2021 on the labels of the top Gran Selezione category. For Chianti Classico winegrowers, it is a logical step to produce wines that reflect the area in which they were produced as authentically as possible. And customers can thus deepen their knowledge of the relationship between the wines and their region of origin - a real added value.
Historically, the vineyards of Castello di Fonterutoli are located in the areas of three neighbouring municipalities of Chianti Classico: Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga and Radda in Chianti. With the 2017 vintage, the Mazzei family vinified all three large vineyards separately as Chianti Classico Gran Selezione for the first time in order to recognise the diversity of the terroir: Castello di Fonterutoli, Vicoregio 36 and Badiola.
Castello di Fonterutoli comes from 11 different plots at an altitude of 420-510 metres around the hamlet of Fonterutoli in Castellina in Chianti. It is both the "Château" and the oldest cru of the estate and was first produced in 1995 as the predecessor to today's Gran Selezione. Rich colour and a clear aroma of blackberries, cherries, violets and flowers, with a hint of nougat. This full-bodied Castello Fonterutoli impresses with its beguiling extract sweetness and polished tannins. The intense and concentrated flavour enchants the senses. The long final is full of elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Still somewhat restrained berry aromas, notes of tobacco and spices; full-bodied on the palate with a perfectly balanced acid-tannin structure and plenty of character, which manifests itself in the finish in notes of blackcurrants and undergrowth." Vinum
"Intense, sparkling ruby colour with purple reflections. Multi-layered bouquet with notes of juicy cherry, pepper, coffee and ebony, exciting. Very juicy and with lush fruit on the palate, with well-integrated tannins and invigorating acidity through to the long finish." Falstaff
"Youthful, concentrated ruby red colour. Balsamic nose with a minty edge and a hint of leather. Juicy, almost racy cherry fruit on the palate, followed by a lot of grainy tannins. This wine definitely needs and deserves more time." Jancis Robinson
"Really beautiful aromas of violets, berries, sandalwood and cherries. It's medium-bodied with round and polished tannins that run the length of the wine, showing lovely finesse and concentration. Juicy on the finish. It needs two or three years to open up and show what it is made of." James Suckling
"The Mazzei 2021 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castellina Castello Fonterutoli is made from vines closest to the winery's headquarters in Castellina. It stands somewhere between the broad, warm appeal of Castelnuovo Berardenga and the more acidic wines from Radda. This happy medium is characterised by a medium-weight texture and very bright cherry flavours that are particularly easy to detect. A hint of crushed stone frames the generous fruit in this version." “Palazzo Lana Extrême” Franciacorta Riserva DOCG 2013 extra brut
Palazzo Lana Extrême Riserva is a masterpiece from a great vintage. The pure Pinot Nero is characterised by a complex bouquet of fresh yeast, pear and lemongrass. Bright fruit on the palate, firm, with lively acidity and wonderfully consistent perlage. SUPERIORE.DE
"A wine of balance and finesse. Bright and fresh aromas of mixed apples, lemon blossom and crushed chalk lift from the glass. Its solid structure and taut palate are complemented by a well-integrated richness, the shows flavors of spiced pear compote in a fresh brioche with hints of roasted nuts and honey. Finishing with a bright pop of fresh acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"There's a leesy edge to the expressive flavors of baked pear and persimmon, roasted hazelnut, honeycomb and dried lemon thyme in this focused sparkler. A spine of deftly honed acidity and an underpinning of minerally salt, oyster shell and smoke notes form a well-defined frame for the rich profile, with accents of ground ginger and white pepper that play on the lasting finish." Wine Spectator
"Telltale Franciacorta with restrained stone fruits, breakfast pastries, cotton candy and lemons. Large yet smooth bubbles with lean body, crisp acidity and great tension. Fiercely fresh and tight in the finish, the slight bitterness adding an extra dimension." James Suckling
"The 2013 Riserva Palazzo Lana Extrême blends enriching notes of raw almond and confectionary spice with stone dust, yellow apples and hints of cardamom. Pure seduction, it is soothingly round with silken bubbles contrasted by a core of ripe orchard fruits and a twang of candied citrus. It finishes long yet remarkably fresh, leaving nuances of lemon curd and minty herbs to resonate above a tactile tinge of saline minerality. This stunning Palazzo Lana Extrême aims to please and has the balance to mature beautifully in the cellar." Vinous

Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba “Aeroplanservaj” DOCG 2019 motif 3
A beautiful, very sensual, feminine wine that is only vinified in the best vintages. Exquisitely flavoured with dark fruit, elegant and fine on the palate with plenty of fruit and length. It was named after the nickname once given to the young wild Clerico by his father: Aeroplan Servaj - wild aeroplane. And the labelling is just as wild and creative - there are six different labels! SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium red; caramel-fruity, inviting; juicy attack, fullness, round, dark fruity, lots of good tannin, pleasing." Merum
"Medium ruby red colour. Complex, spicy nose of red fruits and pure red fruits with enveloping tannins on the palate. Great balance and length. Firmly structured, yet elegant and with a certain suppleness." Jancis Robinson
"Aeroplanservaj is a kind of futuristic label for the first Barolo produced in Serralunga by Domenico Clerico. Oscar Arrivabene, the winery's winemaker, explained that 10% of the oak barrels are used for ageing in barriques; this is more of a logistical decision than a stylistic one, as the plot in Serralunga is so small. The wine has hints of smoky woods, dried cherries, cinnamon spice and a heady violet note that permeates the structure. The attack is austere, not rustic, just wild and youthful. The tannins need to be tamed at the moment, but it's a Serralunga full of detail and I'd wager it will age well." Decanter
"Firm, complex and deep, slightly iodised, also fleshy and a little herbal aroma of ripe black rather than red berries with a hint of soy sauce, tomato essence and floral nuances. Firm, tart and juicy fruit, surprisingly fresh despite all its power, a certain acid bite and fine, youthful tannins, slightly smoky notes on the palate, a little cocoa and hints of coffee, peppery notes in the background, a little herbs and salt, good depth, still barely developed, tobacco traces, very good, firm, juicy and tart-spicy, again slightly smoky finish with peppery, juniper-like tones and noticeable alcoholic strength." Wein-plus
"Flavours of cherries and plums with some fresh roses follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Bright and lively. Taut. Firm and structured." James Suckling
"This red wine is rich but densely woven, providing a backdrop for the flavours of cherries, wild strawberries, earth, minerals and wild herbs. Balanced, even graceful, with fine intensity and a lingering aftertaste of fruit, minerals and herbs." Wine Spectator
"Brilliant ruby red with garnet-coloured rim. On the nose, initially fine earthy tones, some cold smoke, after some time Assam tea, ripe raspberries, cranberries, precious wood. Polished, creamy fruit on the palate, extremely energetic and with vibrant acidity, the tannins are powerful and firm, currently still a little young and wide-meshed, will mature well." Falstaff
"The first Serralunga from the historic Monforte winery, bottled for the first time in 2006, comes from a beautiful family story. Notes of cranberry on the nose, nuances of peony, undergrowth and eucalyptus." Luca Gardini
"With its colourful fantasy label, the Domenico Clerico 2019 Barolo Aeroplan Servaj shows dark fruit and a velvety texture with rusty nails and pencil shavings. This vintage is more concentrated and structured overall, and the result is both rich and very beautiful. The fruit comes from vines planted in 1994. The wine is aged mostly in large oak barrels and about 10% in barriques." Wine Advocate

Galatrona is a pure Merlot in a class of its own. Black-red ruby in the glass. Black berries, fine woody spice and some leather on the nose. Very generous fruit flavours and extremely complex on the palate, it glides elegantly into the depths until it is picked up by a finely woven tannin and leads into a long and finesse-rich finish. A wine that has no need to hide behind Masseto & Co. On the contrary, for us it has been Italy's Merlot benchmark for years. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Galatrona from Petrolo is a highly acclaimed Merlot from Tuscany. It is aged for 18 months in large wooden barrels. Viscous, dark colour. The 2021 Galatrona has an aroma of herbs and spices, liquorice and some wood. Full, juicy and melting, it is much more aromatic in the mouth than on the nose. Intense tannins and a very racy acidity create a full structure of medium depth." Weinwisser
"Although seamless and lusciously saturated with aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, violet, iron, tobacco and spice, this red is also solidly built, with polished tannins. Yet it's more about finesse and elegance than power, with a lively profile and a super-long finish." Wine Spectator
"Bright purple in the glass, gorgeous aromas of black cherry and blackcurrant with floral notes - this 100% Merlot smells wonderfully fragrant and inviting. On the palate it is supple, full-bodied and really seductive, sensual with silky but grippy tannins, beautifully ripe blackcurrant and cherry fruit and crisp acidity that is not too sharp or obvious but enlivens the palate and adds a kick and wonderful freshness to the overall expression. Beautifully presented, harmonious, balanced and absolutely enjoyable from the first to the last sip. A great wine, intense yet energetic, full of nuances of flavour and texture. A wine not to be sneezed at, although it still has plenty of potential for further ageing." Decanter
"The nose shows a wide world of spicy aromas, from red chalk and metal to wood and earth, with cranberries, redcurrants and dark berries as a sweet contrast. The palate reveals a lively flavour with the warmth of earth and freshly ripened fruit, accompanied by tart tannins that promise a long finish. An absolutely acrobatic feat when it comes to Merlot." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2021 Val d'Arno di Sopra Galatrona shows extremely focused aromas, but very generous ones all the while, with soft mint, cherry and stracciatella over a full-bodied texture with soft layers of spice and cedarwood. The wine boasts an elegantly chalky quality to the tannins, but the mouthfeel is so generous, everything irons out beautifully over the palate." Wine Advocate
"The Galatrona 2021 is a good successor to the 2020. In most vintages, the Galatrona is very noticeable right from the start. This is not at all the case with the 2021. This wine will need a few more years to show its best side. Black cherry, plum, mocha, leather, liquorice and incense give the 2021 enormous complexity. More than anything, I admire the sense of vertical, explosive energy that catapults the 2021 into the stratosphere. This is a great wine in every way." Vinous
"The flavours here are very pronounced with dried flowers such as lavender and violets. Also some sage. Black berries and black olive skin. Full-bodied yet straightforward and energetic with very fine tannins and a fantastic length. Fresh and lively on the finish. Best after 2026." James Suckling
"Brilliant dark ruby red colour. Noble, spicy nose of blackcurrants, fine earthy notes, a hint of dried rose petal, cigar box. Sweet and melting on the palate, interwoven with savoury, juicy tannins, elegant on the palate, comes back long and juicy on the final, with fine spicy notes, still a little young." Falstaff

“Monte Lodoletta” Valpolicella Superiore DOC 2016
As every year, the secret star of the house is the Dominator in the Dal-Forno style. Dark and dense, it reveals an intense bouquet with jammy aromas of red and dark fruit, alongside spices and wood, tobacco and chocolate. At the same time, the youthful, stormy flavour is an overwhelming demonstration of power. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, dark ruby red colour. Expressive and fragrant nose of dried rose petal, raspberries, cooked oranges, blackberries, precious wood, dark chocolate, fine mint tones on the finish. On the palate with a polished entry, savoury, with great juiciness and clear fruit, coated with noble wood tannin, powerful, elegant, long." Falstaff
"The 2016 Valpolicella Superiore Monte Lodoletta is intense, with a captivating bouquet that combines cedar shavings, savoury herbs and balsamic spices with rum-soaked cherries, sweet lavender and dark chocolate. The palate is lapped by a silky texture that offers an abundance of tart red and black fruits and a hint of espresso. Crisp mineral tones and zesty acidity provide a dramatic lift. The 2016 finishes long and colourful, with a pleasantly bitter hint of cocoa as grippy tannins linger. The 2016 is a muscular dancer that still writhes youthfully." Vinous
"The Dal Forno Romano 2016 Valpolicella Superiore Monte Lodoletta is a wine of characteristically dark intensity and rich extraction. If there is one thing this winery knows how to do, it is to produce great wines with high intensity that find a balance and are complex at the same time. Dal Forno's production is always an artful expression, as these are wines that cannot be made in any other hands. This is due to the unique characteristics of the Lodoletta vineyard with its clayey alluvial soils and the special technology used during fermentation and vinification. This classic vintage shows black fruits, olives, dark tar, mahogany and sweet barbecue spices. The wine has a soft and rich texture with firm tannins, but finishes relatively dry with an alcohol content of 14%." Wine Advocate
"Dense garnet color, full of polished aromas of balsamic, cedar wood, earthy minerality, licorice, leather, restrained bramble fruit and coffee grounds. Dry, full-bodied and velvety on the palate, with lifted acidity and an austere finish. Long, slightly chocolatey aftertaste." James Suckling
"Compared to the 2017 Valpolicella, it is darker and richer in flavour. It has a nutty, reductive character with hints of mint and fenugreek. In the mouth, it is fleshy and powerful, less vertical than the 2017. The ripe, concentrated red and black berries have a slightly fleshy touch, enhanced by floral notes of iris and violet as well as crushed rock and exotic spices. A lush black cherry emerges towards the end, but this wine still feels quite tight and closed; the best is yet to come." Decanter
