After the Montalcino dream year of 2016, things quietened down around the famous appellation for a while, even though some winemakers bottled amazingly good Brunellos in 2017 and 2018, which the dedicated Brunello community will enjoy for a long time to come. These two vintages will possibly be like the 1998, which initially caused disillusionment immediately after the proclaimed dream year of 1997, but turned out to be the better and longer-lived vintage many years later.
The 2019 vintage has been long awaited, has received much advance praise and is certainly a wine year in Montalcino that will put many minds at ease and delight customers, winemakers and wine merchants alike. As every year, some of the vintage Brunelli will be released later. We are delighted to be able to present the highly rated latecomers from Sesta di Sopra, San Polino and Valdicava.
Of course, as always, we have prepared the vintage report on the truly great 2019 vintage for you, and we hope you enjoy reading and discovering the wines from over 35 outstanding producers. SUPERIORE.DE
