“Vernaiolo” Chianti DOCG 2023
Vernaiolo is one of the oldest members of the Rocca delle Macìe family and has always been the estate's most traditional example of Chianti. Its name is derived from the Latin vernāle, which means "of spring" and indicates the season in which the Chianti was bottled after it had survived the winter. Even today, this lively, ruby-red wine is ready to drink in the spring after the harvest and retains its fresh and fruity characteristics for a long time.
Fruity red with lots of dried berries and a hint of dried flowers and milk chocolate. Medium body, round tannins and a fresh finish. Delicious and very entertaining. SUPERIORE.DE
"A juicy, fruity and delicious Chianti with cherries, raspberries and warm spices on the nose. It has a medium body with fine tannins. Round and juicy, with a velvety core of cherries and a satisfying finish." James Suckling

“Duelame” Chianti Classico DOCG 2022 (BIO)
The name Duelame is derived from "lama": in geological terms, the word refers to a kind of blade, i.e. a notch in which the village of Lamole lies in the middle of two high plateaus. The Duelame bottling thus combines fruit from the lowest (420 metres) and highest (655 metres) vineyards on the estate. Fine aromas of cherry and blueberry on the nose and palate, together with a pleasant spicy note and silky tannins, create the perfect and delicate picture of a cool and authentic Chianti Classico of traditional style. Chianti Classico DOCG 2022
Bright ruby red colour, open-hearted notes of cherry, raspberry and violet, paired with green pepper and cloves. Delicate on the palate, with a nice tang. Delicate, fine tannins, vivaciously supported by a fresh acidity structure with subtle extract sweetness, round off this incredibly authentic and juicy Tuscan experience. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2022 Chianti Classico is a fine entry-level offering from San Felice. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, spice, new leather and a kick of orange peel all grace this soft, open-knit red. Drink it over the next few years." Vinous
"A cool earthiness defines the nose, with aromas of flint, wild herbs and tart blackberries, and then umami notes of mushroom and balsamic. The palate brings cherries and more berries, but dusty, chewy tannins and notable acid emphasize that flinty earthiness, which continues to anchor the wine." Wine Enthusiast

"The 2021 Chianti Classico Vallenuova offers a tantalising blend of macerated red cherry, plum, liquorice, new leather and blood orange. The 2021 is lush and vibrant, with striking energy, an excellent example of the vintage. All the elements are very well balanced." Vinous
"Rich and expressive on the attack, with flavours of sweet cherry, raspberry, mint, rosemary, iron and spice. This supple, luscious red wine firms up, with fine tannins on the long, delicious finish." Wine Spectator
"Fresh character of red and blue fruits with violets, cocoa and crushed stones. Medium-bodied with very polished but velvety and mouth-filling tannins and lively acidity that gives the fruit tension and juiciness. Broad and structured. Long finish." James Suckling

“Maggiolo” Chianti Classico DOCG 2022 (BIO)
Since the 2019 vintage, the successor to the famous "Eticchetta Blu" has been called "Maggiolo", derived from maggio (May) and giaggiolo (iris). The latter covers the fields in May with its flowers and floral scents, which we also find in the bouquet of this Chianti Classico. Bright ruby red in colour, fruity aromas of violets, mulberries, blackberries and blueberries as well as hints of sweet spices and cocoa. Very fresh and juicy on the palate, then the soft tannins envelop the pretty fruit centre and, together with a fine saltiness, lead into the medium-long finish. A wonderfully balanced and drinkable red wine from organic cultivation that certainly won't get old in good company. Drinking pleasure at a high level! SUPERIORE.DE
"The nose starts with a balance of mixed berries and an herbaceous earthiness, then a hint of chocolate emerges. On the palate, there are cherries and blackberries, underlined by dusty, chalky tannins and lively acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"A structured, round and seductive Chianti Classico. The nose reveals aromas of cherries, raspberries and wild herbs, leading into a medium body with fine, firm tannins. Plenty of power and focus, with a long, lively and flavourful finish." James Suckling

“Pèppoli” Chianti Classico DOCG 2022
Pèppoli is an entertaining, very relaxed red wine with a firm fan base. A sparkling, intense ruby colour with a slight garnet hue. The Pèppoli expresses its strong personality through its bouquet of ripe fruit with light mineral accents. The flavour spreads gently yet powerfully on the palate with lively tannins and a long finish. Very easy to drink, very classic and, incidentally, excellent value! SUPERIORE.DE
"Graceful and familiar, Pèppoli is like a cheerful postcard from the Chianti region. It enchants with shiny cherries, cinnamon and chopped basil. Accents of leather and smoky toast are appropriately restrained. On the palate, the fruit takes centre stage: stewed plums and blackberries meld effortlessly with light, supple tannins that bring just a hint of dust. Juicy on the finish." Decanter
"The Chianti Classico Pèppoli 2022, Antinori's entry-level offering, is a fine start to the year that shows just how compelling this vintage can be. The 2022 is bright, floral and beautifully lifted and has class. The understated, refreshing style is so compelling." Vinous
"Balanced and moderately long, this bright, fruity red offers cherry, strawberry and light earth flavors in a charming, approachable profile." Wine Spectator

Chianti & Chianti Classico - Red wines with tradition from Tuscany.
Few people know what the many differences between Chianti and Chianti Classico are. The production area of the Chianti DOCG zone covers about half of Tuscany, with altitudes ranging from 50 to 700 metres. But those who talk about Chianti usually mean the core area, the landscape between Florence and Siena, with its picturesque historical centres, well-decorated country houses, morbid castles and renowned wineries, through which the picturesque Strada Chiantigiana meanders. Here excellent red wines from experienced and highly awarded winegrowers are produced. The list of famous wineries is long, here you can find the wonderful wines of Ricasoli, Castellare, Castello di Ama, Felsina, Fonterutoli, Fontodi, Isole e Olena, Rocca delle Macie, Rocca di Montegrossi and many others.
In Chianti, the famous Sangiovese grape variety shows all its style of fine acidity and elegance.
It is the most important grape in Chianti Classico and there is hardly an Italian grape that is so versatile. It is not only the base for Chianti and Chianti Classico, but also for the noblest Brunello (Sangiovese Grosso) and Vino Nobile (Prugnolo Gentile). However, the Chiantis production area is much larger and stretches from the hills north of Florence to the west and east along the Arno river and to the south it also includes the areas around the famous wine villages of Montalcino and Montepulciano. To the east, the area is bordered by the splendid Monti del Chianti, which merge into the Apennines.
Between the vineyards of the entire cultivation zone Romanesque churches stand – known as Pievi – and the castles of Florentine and Sienese warlords. All in all, the six provinces of Arezzo, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena, with more than a hundred towns and municipalities, belong to the large area.
