Barolo Brunate DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Barolo Brunate is a powerful and vertical wine, endowed with enormous explosive energy and intensity. Crushed flowers, mint, spices and dried flowers open up in the glass, but it is the energy of the wine that really lifts it into the stratosphere. In the glass, the 2019 is dark, almost sombre, and full of the sepia-coloured nuances that are so typical of this great Barolo vineyard. 2019 is an outstanding vintage for Brunate and the first with organic certification. SUPERIORE.DE
"Multi-layered nose with seductive aromas of forest fruits, liquorice and dried flowers; robust and full-bodied, the tannin structure and acidity are perfectly balanced. Combines fullness and race with finesse, should still mature!" Vinum
"There is a yin and yang here between ripe wild cherry, cherry and raspberry fruit and notes of eucalyptus, juniper and hay. They are gripped by dense, assertive tannins on the finish, but this seductive red wine still has a lot to offer. Excellent finesse and length." Wine Spectator
"This wine opens with a wave of aromas that makes you take a seat. Wild cherries, plum, orange peel, clove, violets and rosewood are just a few of the scents that define this beautiful wine. Taut and firm, the palate whelps for a bit more time as the primary fruits are pleasing, the combination of fruit, savory and earth need just a bit more time to shine to their highest. This is a great wine; take your time." Wine Enthusiast
"A fresh wine with a nose of red plum, then notes of laurel, incense and lavender. The mouthfeel has iodine-spicy tannins, with liquorice sensations behind." Luca Gardini
"The Vietti 2019 Barolo Brunate displays an earthy, almost autumnal quality not found in other wines from this leading winery. The bouquet opens with dark fruits, peat moss and rusty nails. The wine is long and finely structured with silky sensations that add softness to the mouthfeel. The finish reveals hints of baking chocolate and espresso beans." Wine Advocate
"The Barolo Brunate 2019 is a powerhouse. Black cherry, plum, spice, lavender, mocha, gravel and scorched earth - this virile, potent Barolo is a real powerhouse. The Brunate is another very impressive wine in this range. To be completely honest, the Brunate has never been one of my favourite wines here, but the 2019 is undeniably great. Perhaps the combination of parcels that Vietti now owns explains the multi-dimensional vibrancy that emerges here. It is simply great." Vinous
"The density of ripe fruit is fantastic in this young Brunate with black berries, blueberries, stone and earth. Very pure. It is full-bodied yet restrained and concentrated with a long and intense finish. Very fine tannins. Complex." James Suckling

“Turriga” Isola dei Nuraghi IGT 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
In 1991, Turriga was one of the first bottled wines ever to be exported from the island. Turriga has a 100% Sardinian soul - the famous blend of four red autochthonous grape varieties was once created by the famous OenologistGiacomo Tachis and is continued today by his "heir" Mariano Murru, technical director and Oenologist at Argiolas. The DNA of this exceptional wine sounds as simple as it is perfect: its sophisticated blend of grape varieties gives it its unique structure, roundness, fullness, fruit and a perfectly balanced portion of tannins.
Mariano goes into raptures and describes his top wine as follows: "It has a deep ruby red colour and an enveloping taste of almost spherical softness, with tannins of great finesse that support and accompany the drink. The lively fruit is supported by a balanced acidity and spiciness that refreshes the palate and prolongs an indescribable finish of rare elegance."
Bravo, Mariano! We have loved the elegant bouquet of plums, the opulent dark fruit, the finely balanced vanilla note and the subtle hint of tobacco for decades. Excellently structured and long-lasting on the finish. A masterpiece every year! SUPERIORE.DE
"A beautifully curated and polished young red wine with black berries, violets and bark. Full and velvety with creamy textured tannins and a flavourful finish. Juicy." James Suckling
"An incredible wine, one of the highest creations of Sardinian oenology. Blueberries on the nose, a hint of bay leaves, nutmeg on the finish. It is also savoury on the palate, with salty tannins, beautiful juiciness and persistent drinkability." Luca Gardini

Refosco from the smallest vineyard "La Mont di Zuc" impresses on the palate with a complex potpourri of plums, sour cherries, graphite, flowers and minerals. This towering, massive wine remains extraordinarily pristine: in fact, it tastes like biting into a perfectly ripened grape from this very special site! As it progresses, a deep, complex register develops, composed precisely to retain the famous Miani elegance and freshness that can only be achieved with the utmost care in the vineyard and cellar. Barolo Cerequio comes from vines over 35 years old and is characterised by exuberant aromas and bright, red-coloured fruit. The bouquet is enormously opulent with ripe fruit flavours ranging from wild cherry to redcurrant. There are also original notes of jam, plum and a hint of ragout. The palate is nuanced and very deep, with enormous complexity, volume and plenty of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby red with garnet shimmer. Beguiling aromas of redcurrant and pomegranate, followed by white truffles and a hint of mint. Blood orange and pomegranate on the palate, extremely fresh, lively and complex, elegant melting, dancing acidity, grippy, deep tannins, persistent, powerful final." Falstaff
"There is a ripe element of boysenberry or pomegranate that gives this Barolo a slightly exotic character. Hibiscus, eucalyptus and tobacco notes are also prevalent as it firms up on the fresh, chalky finish." Wine Spectator
"Extremely fresh and perfumed with lavender, violets and fresh plums. Wonderful to smell. Full-bodied with firm and concentrated tannins that add structure and intensity. Excellent length. Fantastic for this vintage." James Suckling
"Vietti was able to buy a 9,000 square metre plot of Cerequio from Michele Chiarlo, who is arguably the king of this famous cru. And as it is a new addition to the portfolio, the Vietti team is still familiarising itself with the material. The bouquet of the Barolo Cerequio 2019, for example, reveals a fresh minty note. "This minty note was a mystery to us," says Luca Currado. "But then we realised that it was part of the Cerequio." On the palate, the wine has a firm grip, which expands and has a soft texture, but ultimately remains quite structured. Luca Currado tells me that "Cerequio is the brother and Brunate is the sister" of the La Morra Grand Cru vineyards. His wife Elena Penna adds: "We have never had two sites that are so close to each other and have such big differences." Wine Advocate
"The nose is intense, with notes of pomegranate, then wild mint, chinotto and a nice iodised finish. The flavour is spicy, with an iodine-fruity return, citrusy and enriched with mentholated notes." Luca Gardini
"The Barolo Cerequio 2019 is a worthy successor to the outstanding 2018. Aromatic and profound, the 2019 runs across the palate with remarkable depth and intensity. Crushed red berry fruit, rose petals, mint and cinnamon open up in the glass, but it is the silkiness and suppleness of the wine that impresses most. A kick of acidity and tannins puts an exclamation mark on the finish. This is a great Cerequio that soaks up all the finesse of this site and then turns up the volume. What a wine." Vinous

Barolo “Le Vigne” DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM
The grapes for the profound Le Vigne come from Baudana in Serralunga d'Alba (for the power), Villero in Castiglione Falletto (for the precision), Vignane in Barolo (for the purity of the flavours) and Merli in Novello (for the fullness of the fruit). It opens wide with aromas of fresh red fruit and a delicate spicy note. Very intense on the palate, remarkably elegant, fine-grained tannins, extremely clear, structured and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, intense ruby-garnet colour. Intense nose with notes of plum and wild raspberry, followed by some liquorice and cloves. Salty and juicy on the palate, shows fine cherry fruit at the front, then opens up with grippy tannins, good pressure on the final." Falstaff
"The Barolo Le Vigne 2020 is characterised by its brilliant aromatic intensity and great depth. Crushed rose petals, mint, blood orange, spices, lavender and pomegranate blend together. Le Vigne has slightly more aromatic vibrancy and vigour than the Aleste, but shares its sibling's sense of openness." Vinous
"Black cherry, raspberry and plum are wrapped in a veil of toasted oak in this red wine. Ripe and dense, yet with a sense of elegance, this wine lingers with fine balance and freshness on the finish, which is characterised by iron and eucalyptus." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Barolo Le Vigne is open-textured with sun-drenched flavours. You get ripe fruit with black cherries, blackcurrants, forest floor and wild mushrooms. With time in the glass, the wine reveals floral definition, grilled tarragon herb and a heavier note of wheat pastry." Wine Advocate
"The flavours of blackberry, spice and tar are enticing and lead to a full but firm body that shows density and depth. The tannins are very well integrated and feel fused with the wine. Slightly bitter orange and mineral character on the finish. Complex and curated." James Suckling
"The wine is a bold expression of dark, macerated cherries, earthy undertones with the nuanced complexity of oolong tea and a medley of spices. The palate is characterised by a dark, smoky character dusted with spice, creating a big and commanding presence in the glass that shows the depth and power of the wine but never goes too far, maintaining an elegant line in the glass." Fleshy and overripe on the still youthful nose, only gradually revealing spicy aromas, dried rose petals, bright red stone fruit and menthol. The palate is concentrated and supple with dense tannins and sweet fruit, full of energy, spicy and supple, with red and blue fruits in cool tones that ride on a wave of saline minerals. The zesty acidity makes your mouth water and finishes with dramatic length and a salty liquorice note that lingers indefinitely with fine-grained tannins. A benchmark Merlot with a great future. Andrea Franchetti began in the 1990s to position Palazzi as an equal red alongside his flagship Tenuta di Trinoro, with the aim of producing two exceptional wines reminiscent of the left and right banks of Bordeaux.
Just three words: power, intensity and concentration. With a very manageable production of 1,660 bottles, here is a full-throttle Tuscan wine that constantly exudes generous black fruits, spices and sweet tobacco. There is also black cherry and plum, which lend the wine soft contours and sweetness. On the palate, it is firm, well-structured and delights with a mouthfulness that is unrivalled. Take a good piece of red meat, marinate it in rosemary and olive oil before putting it on the charcoal grill and then embark on this monumental adventure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Splendid Merlot from loamy soils, tinged with blackberries and cassis, flanked by fine spice, tobacco and dark chocolate flavours; slightly less dense than last year, but still with a lot of finesse and a perfectly balanced tannin-acid structure, subtle minerality and complexity in the lingering final. Very successful!" Vinum
"The Palazzi 2020 is packed with dark fruits, cloves, leather and dark chocolate. Rich, deep and quite potent, the 2020 is another extroverted wine in this range. The tannins are a little curmudgeonly, but otherwise the 2020 is beautifully made and shows promise, especially as the tannins soften." Vinous
"The aromas of raspberries, plums and violets are very enticing. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a creamy and refined texture that is long and beautiful. A blend of Merlot parcels. Juicy and delicious." James Suckling
"Shows pure black cherry and blackberry fruit, along with olives, wild herbs and mineral accents. It offers a rich structure, but the overall impression is one of velvety texture and great harmony. Lively finish that leaves a salty impression. It is already accessible now, but will improve with time." Wine Spectator
"A primarily sanguine and umami nose draws balance from sweet, slightly astringent notes of plum, blueberry and boysenberry. The berries flourish on the palate, but acid brings out a latent mix of pepper and spices to preserve balance, while silky, opaque tannins provide framing." Wine Enthusiast
"The Palazzi 2020 is a 100% Merlot made to the highest standards by a winemaker, the late Andrea Franchetti, who strived for perfection. From his beloved Tenuta di Trinoro in Sarteano, with its endless skies and rolling landscapes, this wine shows plump fruit, blackberries, plums, spice and campfire ash. Coming from a hot vintage, the fruit is beautifully ripe, but by no means exaggerated. The wine shows softness, tension and a supple texture. This bottle gives a lot of intensity and charm." Wine Advocate
"Rich, bright ruby colour with a fine violet sheen. Compact and very present nose, smells of ripe blackberries, blueberries, some truffle and graphite in the background, beautiful play. Fills out the palate without becoming overpowering, ripe blueberry and blackberry fruit, polished, fine-meshed tannins in many layers, coated with fine enamel, simply fun! " Falstaff

“Cossut” Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2021
The single-varietal Refosco "Cossut" is named after the vineyard of the same name. Like all of Miani's single-vineyard wines, it is only produced in very small quantities and impresses with its complexity, depth, elegance and magical fruit. Dark fruits, smoke and tar overwhelm the palate with soft, plush, velvety richness. It's amazing how weightless this full-bodied red wine really is. Around 60% of the grapes for the Monvigliero are not destemmed, which enhances the aromatic nuances of the wine. Youthful notes of raspberry and blueberry are flanked by black pepper, gentian, porcelain and black olives. On the palate, it has a beguilingly soft texture, fine and creamy, accompanied by wonderful flavours of laurel and flowers. Monvigliero from Verduno impresses with its purity, its sheer serenity and its class. Excellent every year and unfortunately very rare. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, brightening ruby-garnet colour. Memorable nose of sweet, ripe raspberries, dark cherries and pickled peach. Polished and supple on the attack and on the palate, lots of fine-meshed tannins, fine raspberry fruit, then full-bodied pressure on the final, but also somewhat rough on the final." Falstaff
"The Barolo Monvigliero 2020 is a relatively new vintage for Vietti. It is soft and delicate with pretty floral aromas, dried iris, powdery spice and a hint of tar or road surface. The inaugural vintage was 2018 and the wine, which is made from 60% whole bunches during fermentation, has a tart moment, powerful notes, sweet grenadine and cranberry jelly." Wine Advocate
"Top notes of rose, strawberry and cherry are underscored by earth, menthol, iron and tobacco flavors in this elegant yet intense red. Fluid, with a texture that borders on viscous and excellent definition on the long, complex finish." Wine Spectator
"Monvigliero is one of the most elegant crus of Verduno, one of the coolest areas of Barolo, which produces wines of rare grace. Vietti's 2020 is a delight, characteristic of the year, full of cinnamon, violets, raspberries and vibrant depth. The zesty acidity blends seamlessly with the velvety, light but flavoursome tannins, and the wine only lightens up a little on the finish." Decanter
"Prepare to be enchanted by a Barolo that rises effortlessly from the glass with aromas of crushed raspberries, wild strawberries and juicy red cherries mingling with delicate rose petals and violets. A subtle hint of stemminess adds a seductive complexity to the bouquet that will leave you mesmerised. The palate is full-bodied, revealing layers of juicy redcurrant, pomegranate and a hint of sweet spice. This beautiful wine shows the finesse and grace of Nebbiolo, with silky tannins and bright acidity creating a harmonious balance. This stunning Barolo is a testament to the winemaker's skill and the region's unique terroir." Wine Enthusiast
"One of Vietti's palest and most perfumed Barolos, with a transparent ruby-orange colour. This is a super nuanced, elegant, expressive and ethereal Monvigliero that grows on me, with enchanting notes of grilled grapefruit, thyme, frozen raspberries and minerals. A subtle hint of white pepper and a mezcal-like smokiness. Really refined and transparent, with some citrus and mineral notes closely linked to the fine, crumbly tannins. So much finesse and detail here, and its complexity will continue to unfold. Truly composed, soulful and stunning! A great wine that deserves attention. Best enjoyed with a Burgundy glass." Rocche di Castiglione is prized for its pure white, chalky soils, which produce wines of exceptional finesse and a wide range of flavours. For lovers of timeless Nebbiolo, it is a real hit. The vines are located not far from the winery, which blends into the stone walls and urban fabric of the village of Castiglione Falletto. The vineyard is about one hectare in size. Rocche di Castiglione is a curiously shaped and elongated MGA with a unique south-east exposure along a steep ravine, with Bussia to the west and Perno to the east. This site is characterised by freshness, extreme precision, straightforwardness, structure and balanced freshness. This naturally concentrated vintage also displays a juicy quality that is simply outstanding. Pretty mineral notes contribute to the balance and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"A dense, solidly built version, whose core of cherry and raspberry fruit is accented by iron, wild herb and juniper notes. Focused by vibrant acidity and underlined with chalky tannins, this red is long and detailed on the finish." Falstaff
"Charming and enticing with flavours of sweet cherries, strawberries, cedar, dried herbs and some baking spices. Sensational concentration with a lively mid-palate on the full to medium body. The fine and firm tannins are harmoniously balanced by the juicy redcurrants and crisp acidity." James Suckling
"The Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2020 is a very distinctive wine with sharp ferrous notes, cherry-cola, redcurrant and chalky minerals. It is very precise in its flavours. It comes across as direct and multi-layered, showing different sides and gaining complexity the further it opens up in the glass. Delicate notes of dried flowers, violet blossom and iris can also be recognised. The chalky tannins feel abrupt at this young stage, but this wine is still built to last. Only 3,512 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate
"The Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2020 is a magical wine from a magical vineyard. It combines finesse and volume to an extent not found in most other wines in this range. Castiglione Falletto is quite literally the centre of the Barolo growing region, a place where many different types of soil come together. As a result, the wines often display an astonishing balance, which is very much the case here." Vinous

“Tresoro di Riparbella” Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2019 (BIO) · 0,75l in OWC
This wine monument from three of the best wineries in the region (Caiarossa, Duemani and Tenuta Prima Pietra) is a tribute to the Tuscan coastal town of Riparbella. Caiarossa contributed the Cabernet Sauvignon, Duemani the Cabernet Franc and Prima Pietra the Merlot. Intense and inky in the glass, initially restrained nose. Lots of meatiness and juiciness on the palate and a ripe, very complex flavour that is softened by the spicy French oak. Round and very polished tannins lead into a flavourful finish. Barolo Brunate DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Vietti's Brunate parcels are located on the La Morra side of the cru site. It was fermented in stainless steel and then transferred directly to large oak barrels for ageing. Barolo Brunate is a powerful and vertical wine, endowed with enormous explosive energy and intensity. It offers engaging and penetrating aromas of cedar wood, red cherry, blood orange, sage flowers and rose. On the palate, its austere personality is evident and any connoisseur will realise that it needs a few more years in the bottle to develop. Dense and multi-layered, with great depth, chewy tannins and lingering red berries, this is already a fantastically complete wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Barolo Brunate 2020 is a dark, beguiling wine. Black cherry, dried herbs, leather, game, liquorice and incense lend it wonderful, sepia-coloured nuances. The brooding and closed 2020 clearly needs time. It's a super-classic Brunate that's hard to read at first, but the weight, substance and power are clearly there. Dense, fleshy and dark, it shows an intensity reminiscent of Serralunga." Vinous
"Equal parts fruity and balsamic, this red reveals cherry, cranberry and rose hip notes alongside eucalyptus, juniper and cedar flavors. Taut and well-marked by a line of dusty tannins gracing the finish." Wine Spectator
"The Vietti 2020 Barolo Brunate has a dark and spicy side that is reflected in the fruit. Dark cherry and blackcurrant combine with ferruginous earth, grilled rosemary, aniseed and a hint of fresh mint. Brunate tends to be rather austere and firm in its flavours, and this vintage shows these qualities well. The character of the site comes through clearly. The wine has a precise, edgy personality and the fruit is compact. Only 4,988 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate
"This Barolo from the renowned Brunate vineyard captivates with its youthful energy and presents a lively bouquet of tart sour cherries, unripe raspberries and a tantalising blend of medicinal herbs. The palate reveals a classic structure, framed by firm, fine-grained tannins that support the delicate red fruit flavours, a subtle earthiness and a hint of dried rose petals. With its sophisticated elegance, this Barolo is ready to develop even more complexity with time." Wine Enthusiast
"Harmonious and seductive with endless flavours in good depth. Strawberries, crushed raspberries, fresh lavender, tile, minerals and mild spices. Medium to full-bodied with chalky, powerful tannins. Bright and exciting in the centre, with an extensive development of sour cherries, minerals, white pepper and grapefruit. The long finish is concentrated, precise and taut." James Suckling

Limitation of 3 articles per customerBarbaresco Rabaja DOCG 2019
Rabaja and Asili are probably the most famous vineyards in Barbaresco. Medium, delicately fragrant nose of rose petals, cherries and blue flowers, with restrained ethereal herbal notes. Powerful and compact on the palate, with a well-proportioned cornucopia of black fruits such as blackberries and cassis, plus some liquorice. As the wine progresses, its power and a certain pressure become apparent, but it never comes across as wild or ostentatious, instead always reflecting the elegance of the vineyard and the typical Giacosa ageing in large oak. Impressive flavour and length! SUPERIORE.DE
"Aromatic and spicy, this red delivers cherry, strawberry, rose, anise, thyme and mineral notes backed by a solid spine of tannins. Vibrant, complex and balanced, with a silky texture and a lingering aftertaste of fruit and savory elements." Wine Spectator
"The Rabajà will still need some time in the bottle. At this young stage, it shows a pretty ensemble of dark berries, crushed rose, white stone and dusty liquorice root. Patience is required here." Wine Advocate
"Very fragrant and complex, with mandarin, jasmine, cedar, black truffle and iron. Full-bodied and very structured. Fantastic structure for this vintage. Very Barolo-like in structure. Give this wine at least four or five years to mature." James Suckling

Camarcanda is a rich Bolgheri Rosso Superiore with a dark bouquet of black fruit, espresso, chocolate, liquorice and tar. The palate is extremely full-bodied, with outstanding depth, dense structure and a firm body. Opulent and long, this wine already shows a wide range of personality. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fragrant bouquet with rather red fruits, cherries and wild berries, framed by balsamic notes, delicately floral, lavender. Melting and smooth in the mouth with fruity and then also tart notes, salty-spicy final." Weinwisser
"Diverse bouquet of forest fruits, spicy macchia and balsamic notes; firm texture, the tannins extremely finely chiselled, underpinned by crisp acidity, the final opulent with plenty of juice, density and length. Also extremely successful in this vintage." Vinum
"Bright ruby red colour with a brightening core. On the nose, juicy cherries, sea salt, some blood orange, then fine precious wood, with a finish of fine undergrowth and ripe raspberries. Pure and clear on the palate, on juicy elderberries and fine mint, with grippy tannins, embedded in fine precious wood." Falstaff
"At this young stage, the wine shows a youthful primary fruit and impresses with its balance and integration of fruit and oak. Angelo Gaja and his team have dedicated themselves to the pursuit of elegance in these two grape varieties, which can often develop too much power and concentration if they are not controlled. The right timing of the harvest and the careful use of French oak are key to this overall result, especially with regard to the medium to full body and long silkiness of this age-worthy vintage." Wine Advocate
"The aromas of this wine are somewhat muted today, but the blackcurrant, blueberry, violet, cedar and wild herb flavours are expressive and well articulated. It is supported by lively acidity and a dense tannic matrix and finishes long and full of flavour." Wine Spectator
"The nose of this Bolgheri Superiore is captivating with its lush integration of cloves, balsam, eucalyptus leaves and restrained blackberry fruit. The attack is velvety, with a great development of youthful, fine-grained tannins in the mid-palate, a long, powerful acidity and a toasty, fruity finish. A wine that has a long life ahead of it, a great example of a Bordeaux blend with a Mediterranean identity and one of the best Bolgheri we have tasted from Ca' Marcanda." Decanter
"Redcurrants, rose petals and ink, plus some fresh herbs. Medium-bodied with fine and taut tannins that give the wine focus and beauty. This wine will develop beautifully. Taste it after 2028, but it's already excellent now." James Suckling
"The Camarcanda 2020 is smooth, elegant and wonderfully expressive. Exquisite flavours and silky tannins give the Camarcanda a lot of finesse. The 2020 is deceptively medium-bodied and has a wonderful finish. Pretty floral and spicy notes open the finish effortlessly. The 2020 is without question the best Camarcanda yet. Bravo." Vinous

Barolo Cerequio DOCG 2020
Barolo Cerequio comes from vines that are over 35 years old. The vineyards were acquired by Michele Chiarlo in the 2010s through fortunate circumstances. Opens with aromas of freshly halved cherries, which are joined by a mixture of cloves, allspice and vanilla, while fresh roses are almost close at hand. On the palate, concentrated and lush plums and mixed berries, while black tea, liquorice and subtle earthy flavours gradually emerge. In the mid-palate, the tannins are still clearly noticeable, but with a little time all parts will be in balance. This wine is already a poem today, but its very best days will come with some bottle ageing! SUPERIORE.DE
"As if in competition, aromas of macerating cherries and wild roses pour from the glass, each moment leapfrogging the other to be the main scent, but as the wine develops, they find their balance and shine together, along with hints of allspice, clove and fresh herbs. The palate is elegant and lively, with tart red berries and refreshing acidity. Lingering, elegant tannins give the wine gravitas on the finish and make it a compelling choice for cellaring." Wine Enthusiast
"The Barolo Cerequio 2020 (3,866 bottles produced) is slightly thicker or softer in the mid-palate, showing flavours of dark cherry, dried mint, liquorice and naval orange. The fruit is a little more restrained in 2020, although the acidity is present and the fruity tannins feel velvety and chalky." Wine Advocate
"This aromatic red delivers cherry, raspberry and boysenberry flavors alongside balsamic notes of eucalyptus, juniper and wild herbs. Strikes a nice balance between grace and power, with firm tannins and a mineral streak underlining the long aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"The Barolo Cerequio 2020 confirms once again that the purchase of this vineyard was one of the smartest decisions Vietti has ever made. The Cerequio is a wine of nuance and class that reflects the entire pedigree of this great vineyard. Crushed red berry fruit, cherry, blood orange, spice and mint rise from the glass, framed by vibrant tannins that convey classicism. This is an exotic, racy Barolo." Vinous
"Impressive depth of colour and brightness from this Cerequio, which comes across with so much fruit. So fragrant and complex. Fresh raspberries, red cherries, grapefruit and minerals. Pure, ripe and racy, with fully resolved tannins and an exciting, compact finish. Expressive and impressive! Accessible now for the depth of fruit, but better from 2027 for added complexity." James Suckling

Red stone fruits, crushed gravel, orange zest, spices and white pepper create an almost exotic Barolo full of charm and with high recognition value. On the palate, punchy and very energetic. Ornato 2017 plays on all the themes that Serralunga is about - a fantastic achievement by the entire Pio Cesare team. SUPERIORE.DE
"Besides cherry, also Christmas scents like cinnamon and bergamot; velvety, fine, everything is roundly polished, a cocoa note resonates in the background, then the crackling saltiness flashes out and gives the wine life and tension." Weinwisser
"Bright, medium dense ruby garnet. Opens with notes of blood oranges and lemony ginger, then lots of dark cherries, fresh. Powerful and full-bodied on the palate, unfolds with a lot of pressure, grippy, dense tannin, salty-mineral components, very long finish." Falstaff
"Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Sweet and a little monolithic on the nose and with hints of Moroccan leather. Rich palate with dried-fruit notes and a brooding layer of ripe cherry. Really complex and pulled up by fresh acidity. Very long and generous and with coating tannins sticking to the generous fruit. A fascinating wine." Jancis Robinson
"Though underlined by firm, dusty tannins, this red displays ripe cherry, plum, green tea and earth flavors. Fresh and full of energy on the lingering finish." Wine Spectator
"With fruit from the village of Serralunga d'Alba, the Pio Cesare 2017 Barolo Ornato exhibits a richer textural style and more concentrated fruit flavors compared to all the other Nebbiolo-based wines in this portfolio. Dark cassis and blackberry segue to black licorice and tarry smoke. Those signature hints of rusty nail, earth and candied orange peel that are so specific to this village are also quite evident. The wine shows structure and depth that will help it withstand extra cellar aging." Wine Advocate
"The very first single-vineyard Barolo produced by the family, first made in 1985, this is vinified in stainless steel tanks with moderate temperature control. It then undergoes maceration for 30 days and ageing in botti for about 30 months, with a small portion of the wine in French oak barriques for the first 12 months. Dark ruby in colour, it has aromas of raspberry, rose, violet, cherry, slatey minerality and graphite. The attack is subtle, the tannins polished, with an extracted mid-palate. Assertive acidity and an austere finish are balanced by fragrant cherry fruit and a liquorice aftertaste." Decanter
"Rose, wild herb, forest floor and woodland berry aromas come to the forefront along with a warm spice accent. Structured and elegant, the full-bodied palate features raspberry compote, vanilla, star anise and crushed mint framed in tightly-knit, refined tannins. An espresso note lingers on the close." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2017 Barolo Ornato offers a bit more mid-palate density and volume than the Mosconi tasted alongside it. Like that wine, it is an infant that will need time to truly blossom. Sweet red cherry, sage, mint, rosewater and dried flowers lend striking intrigue throughout. The Ornato is a super-impressive wine that shows the more finessed style Pio Cesare has been pursuing over the last few years." Vinous
"Extremely perfumed with dark berries, cherries, strawberries and crushed stones. Full-bodied with chewy, polished tannins that are muscular. Fantastic structure to this young Barolo, as well as great length. It grows on the palate with ease. Truly impressive. Incredible." James Suckling

Barolo Monvigliero DOCG 2018 · 0,75l in OWC
The second novelty of the 2018 vintage is Vietti's Barolo Monvigliero. The special feature: Approx. 60% of the grapes are not destemmed, which enhances the aromatic nuances of the wine. Youthful notes of raspberry and blueberry are flanked by black pepper, gentian, porcelain and black olives. The palate has a beguilingly soft texture, fine and creamy, underpinned by wonderful laurel and floral aromas. Monvigliero impresses with its purity, its serenity and its class. Excellent. SUPERIORE.DE
"Here's a very special treat from Verduno and one of the most exciting new releases we will see from Italy this year. In its inaugural release, the Vietti 2018 Barolo Monvigliero is made with 60% whole cluster fruit, following in time-honored local tradition. The soils of Monvigliero are loose and light in color, producing tight but lean-bodied wines. The use of whole clusters gives the wine more texture, intensity and tannins. With wild berry, rose, dried mint and white licorice and very fine and smooth tannins, this wine is part of a precious 3,207-bottle production." Wine Advocate
"The 2018 Barolo Monvigliero, another new wine in this range, is dazzling. That's not much of a surprise, as the 2018 has always been gorgeous from barrel. A touch of whole clusters adds aromatic nuance and lift to this super-classic, sculpted Barolo. The Monvigliero impresses with its purity, delineation and class. Superb." Vinous
"Intense and pure, this red exudes floral, strawberry, raspberry, currant, sandalwood, menthol and mineral aromas and flavors. Racy and bursting with energy, delivering a youthful balance and long, long aftertaste of floral, fruit, savory and mineral elements. Shows superb complexity, harmony and finesse." Wine Spectator
"The main cru of Verduno, with calcareous-clayey soils and presence of Marne of Sant’Agata, 320 meters above sea level and about 50 year-old plants. Whole bunch vinification for most of the mass, nose of red currant, with touches of rose hips and incense. The mouthfeel has saline-iodine tannins, with a floral-fruity return." Luca Gardini

Barolo Cannubi DOCG 2018 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Barolo Cannubi is a great wine that highlights the classic beauty of Nebbiolo. This wine is like a statue of a Greek goddess with perfect proportions and feminine aesthetics. The bouquet is complex, with bright fruits, white pepper, mint, orange peel and spicy liquorice. The tannins are polished and fine, with a hint of the characteristic limestone chalk that you sometimes taste in Cannubi. Lively acidity rounds out this extremely elegant, fresh and graceful wine. Very full-bodied and focused with great length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, medium dense ruby with a pronounced garnet rim. Very appealing and intense nose of ripe, dark wild raspberries, dried plums, also some rhubarb and cranberry. Grippy, hearty tannin, opens up in many layers, lots of ripe, present fruit, firm pressure and fine melting on the final." Falstaff
"Cool, sweet red fruit and a touch of minty oak. Fresh, gentle and juicy red fruit with elegant tannins that gently stick to the palate. Everything is elegant about this wine." Jancis Robinson
"The 2018 Barolo Cannubi is soft, open-knit and gracious, as wines from this vintage tend to be. Silky contours and pliant fruit add to its appeal and overall immediacy. The 2018 is a real charmer. It's understated personality will be easy to appreciate upon release. Sweet red cherry, cinnamon, mint, cedar and dried rose petal linger nicely, with pretty sweet floral notes that continue to open over time." Vinous
"Deep and seductive on the nose and palate with crushed red berries and a soft mineral base. Full-bodied with very silky tannins that are already melded into the wine. More linear, drinkable quality to this in 2018. Compact and delicious even now, but better with another year in bottle." James Suckling
"Elegant and seamless for such a young red, exhibiting rose, cherry, mint, menthol and mineral flavors. Firm yet balanced and long, with echoes of cherry and menthol on the saline finish." Wine Spectator
"The E. Pira e Figli - Chiara Boschis 2018 Barolo Cannubi is a lovely wine with a classic playlist of true Nebbiolo aromas. This certified organic wine exhibits wild berry, rose, dried lilac and an earthy touch of white truffle. However, the floral aromas and the lifted fruit are the protagonists in this balanced expression. Chiara farms less than one hectare (just over 6,000 square meters) in the celebrated Cannubi MGA with ancient calcareous clay soils from the Miocene era. Production is limited to 3,594 bottles. This is one of the best wines of the vintage." Wine Advocate

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico La Fabriseria shows itself massive and with seductive complexity. Deep bouquet of black berries and cocoa, violets and lavender. The taste is immensely fruity with aromas of cherry, blackberry and wild berry, plus the invigorating impressions of medicinal herbs again and again. The finish is elegant and long with a fine sweetness and a hint of mint. For us, one of the greatest wines of the Valpolicella! SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful, bright ruby. Very clear and intense nose, full of dark currant sweets, dark cherry juice, spicy honey and some resin in the background. Dense and full-bodied in the attack and course, shows a lot of grippy, dense tannin, flows clearly and calmly, dark pepper in the finish, very much Storage potential." Falstaff
"A pure beam of crème de cassis and baked black cherries is accented by an enticing palette of sandalwood, liquorice and Earl Grey tea leaf notes in this fine-mesh, medium to full-bodied red. Long and delicious, with a rich hint of fig cake and a touch of mineral iron on the slightly chewy finish." Wine Spectator
"In the glass, aromas of crushed violet, baked plum, underbrush and new leather combine. The palate is velvety and densely concentrated, offering delicious raspberry jam, soaked plums and baking spices before finishing with a tobaccoic finish. Despite its big, bold structure, it has refined tannins that support and polish it seamlessly." Wine Enthusiast
"Sumptuous notes of balsamic, mint, dried thyme, kirsch and mountain herb. A raft of tannins doused with dried tobacco leaf and clove, compress the fruit as much as promote it. The thick-skinned oseleta is in the blend, contributing immensely to the firm structural lattice. Drive, power and length, with no dearth of freshness. Excellent Amarone for those seeking power as much as freshness. This has a very traditional, savoury air to it. One glass is not quite sufficient in this case." James Suckling
"The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva La Fabriseria 2015 trades power for elegance and feminine beauty. Notes of mineral ripe cherries, currants, sage and cocoa gain volume and depth with time in the glass. The wine is seamless and silky, gliding over a core of lively acids, with juicy red and black fruits giving way to sweet spices and pretty flowers. A bitter hint of coffee and spicy herbal notes combine with tart blackberries and linger for well over a minute. This is just great." Vinous
"The Tedeschi family's top wine is their 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva la Fabriseria. The wine is a careful blend of 40% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta, all aged in oak for 48 months. The appassimento process has produced a powerful and muscular wine that opens with thick layers of black fruits, plums, dried cherries, spices, mesquite smoke, iron and sweet rum cake. With only 2,500 bottles made, this full-bodied blockbuster wine is a lesson in all the beautiful excesses that extreme Amarone has to offer." Wine Advocate

"Spicy cherry and berry flavours, also tobacco notes; rich in structure, the powdery tannins and the brittle acidity in balance, persistent and with its spicy fruit and balsamic nuances very complex final." Vinum
"Bright, radiant ruby violet colour. Fragrant and elegant nose, clearly plums, wild berries, undergrowth, later cold smoke. Opens full-bodied and soft on the palate, opens wide, round acidity, powerful and juicy, retronasal cool fruit with eucalyptus, elegant, long final." Falstaff

“Galatrona” Merlot Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
Galatrona is a pure Merlot in a class of its own. Black-red ruby in the glass. On the nose, black berries, fine wood spice and some leather. Very generous fruit aromas and extremely complex on the palate, it glides elegantly into the depths until it is caught by a finely woven tannin and passes into a long and finesse-rich finish. A wine that does not have to hide behind Masseto & Co., on the contrary, for us it has been Italy's Merlot benchmark for years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, intense ruby with violet glints. Very clear and inviting nose, full of blueberry and blackberry, in addition fine tobacco notes, some cardamom. Juicy and endowed with lots of fresh fruit, shows polished tannin, grippy, after blackberries in the final, shows a fine spice carpet in the final." Falstaff
"A round, fruity red wine with ripe aromas of black cherries, blackberries, plums, graphite and spices. It starts soft and becomes firmer on the finish, where refined tannins come into play. It shows good balance but should be given a few more years to fully develop." Wine Spectator
"Some forest floor notes mingle with dark fruits and fresh herbs - liquorice and blackcurrant with hints of dark chocolate and thyme. Supple and mouth-filling, this wine has weight from the start, the tannins are massive, plush and fleshy, filling the mouth with rich, concentrated black fruit flavours. Detailed and precise, this wine has power and is well framed with high acidity giving the vitality to balance the concentration. A powerful wine, with real power, yet finesse." Decanter
"Dark berries, chocolate mousse, dried herbs and some chilli pepper heat show on the nose of this wine. The palate remains chocolaty but herbal, with a dark cherry and syrup finish contrasted by chalky, grainy tannins and lingering spiciness. An absolute delight in the best way." Wine Enthusiast
"The Petrolo 2020 Galatrona is a pure expression of organic Merlot and the winery's top wine. It was first created in 1994, when Luca Sanjust's second child, Lucia, was born. Despite the summer heat, which became a challenge for winemakers in many corners of Tuscany, Galatrona is showing excellent results in 2020. The vineyard is located in a cool and densely wooded area almost exactly between Florence, Arezzo and Siena. The vintage has a classic quality with a subtle bouquet that increases in intensity as the wine opens in the glass. Aromas of cherries, toasted almonds and dried mint accompany a long and very elegant finish. The oak tannins are soft and sweet, and the wine has a long-lasting flavour." Wine Advocate
"Subtle yet intense aromas of black fruits and violets. Extremely perfumed. Stomped stones. Medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that give a velvety mouthfeel that lasts minutes. Refined and fresh. Al-dente fruit." James Suckling
"The Galatrona 2020 is breathtaking. In fact, the 2020 is one of the best vintages of Galatrona I can remember tasting. I am particularly impressed by its vertical intensity and explosive energy. All the elements are so impeccably woven together. Dark fruits, crushed rocks, menthol, liquorice and spices lead into an intense finish that lingers on the palate. Great." Vinous
"The culmination of Luca Sanjust's revolutionary work at Petrolo, this Galatrona gets more exciting with each release: pure Merlot, nose of currants, with a finish of dogwood peel and bay leaf, crisp, salty mouthfeel, with a return of citrus and a long, mentholated finish." Luca Gardini
