“Per Sbaglio” Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOP 2021
A wonderful and completely "unplanned" wine: Paolo actually wanted to plant more Moscato vines in this small 1.5-hectare, sustainably cultivated vineyard when he recognised the quality of the Barbera grapes ripening there in 2016. Without further ado, he decided to vinify a Barbera, which he then aptly named "Per Sbaglio" - which means "by mistake". We congratulate him on this decision, as just 3,000 bottles are released onto the market every year. Rich, sparkling ruby red colour. “Zero Infinito” Metodo Ancestrale IGT 2022 (BIO)
"Zero Infinito" stands for zero chemical intervention and infinity. Years of research and experimentation have led to this extraordinary project, in which the grapes of the fungus-resistant Solaris grape variety are transformed into wine without any additives: no treatment in the vineyard, no use of sulphur dioxide, no commercial yeasts, no clarifying agents, no filtering and no antioxidants! The grapes for this sparkling wine made according to the Méthode Ancestrale (Pet Nat) with yeast lees come from the south-west facing Maso Rella vineyard, which lies at an altitude of 800 to 900 metres.
Bright yellow with orange reflections. Aromatic bouquet of elderflower and mountain flowers, plus Golden Delicious, apricot and peach. It is fermented in concrete to preserve its freshness before maturing for five months in large oak barrels. Dark and initially a little brooding, Sceg shimmers from the glass with a rich and earthy blend of plum sauce, brown spices and crushed autumn leaves. The wine is silky smooth and balanced by vibrant acidity, while a contrasting wave of black fruit with citrus flavours washes over the senses. Smoky nuances and hints of ash resonate. Yet it finishes remarkably fresh, leaving a subtle hint of mineral tannins that remind Basilicata connoisseurs that this is a young Aglianico in its purest form.
