“Coniale” Cabernet Sauvignon Toscana IGT 2017
Coniale, a pure Cabernet Sauvignon, is an elegant and expressive wine. Smells pleasantly of black fruits, spices and tobacco, presents itself dense and wide on the palate, with mineral tones of flint and granite, firmly structured and well defined until the long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Aromas of blackberries, mushrooms, mocha, cedar and spice box. It's full-bodied with firm, polished tannins. Tight and structured with a rich, zesty and spiced finish." James Suckling
"This red features ripe cherry, currant, loam, Tuscan scrub and bitter almond flavors, with a mineral underpinning. Firm and taut, with a beam of acidity driving the lingering finish. Balanced in a compact way, this should unwind in a year or two." Wine Spectator
"The 2017 Coniale, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is a gorgeous wine that marries varietal character with a distinctly Chianti Classico profile of acid, tannin and overall structure. This decidedly Tuscan Cabernet has so much to offer, starting with its expansive aromatics and beautifully layered fruit. Dark cherry, cedar, tobacco, menthol and licorice lead into the firm, structured finish." Vinous

“Zitelle Pesarin” Friulano Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2018
As always, Paolo Meroi has vinified a great Friulano with classic proportions, of which one can only get hold of a bottle with difficulty due to a total production of just 1,000 bottles. As always from a microsite, this white convinces with its perfectly knit balance of fine peach notes, pear, green melon and a little honey, its vibrant acid wire and a remarkable freshness and length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, light straw yellow. Opens with fine wood notes, some light caramel, then of fresh yellow apple, rich herbal spice in the background. Lush and rich on the palate, very good concentration, fine ripe fruit, but still noticeable wood overhang on the back end, needs further ripening." Falstaff

Barolo Boscareto DOCG 2016
Boscareto from Serralunga d'Alba has an intense aroma of leather and liquorice, dried flowers and undergrowth; the round, aromatic flavour follows a straight path to the lingering final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Somewhat dried floral to tobacco aroma with restrained berry tones, a little undergrowth as well as mushroomy and earthy nuances. Tart, yet quite juicy fruit, again dried-vegetable, mushroomy and earthy tones, finely dusty, still slightly drying tannins, cedary and nutty flavours, a hint of cocoa, also a little pepper, vegetal traces, very good, increasingly juicy finish with chalky-mineral tones." Wein-Plus
"Beni di Batasiolo produces two top Baroli from single vineyards, and the Barolo Boscareto 2016 is one of them. This wine contains fruit from Serralunga d'Alba and is therefore the bolder and more powerful of the two. But to be honest, the differences are minimal, especially in a vintage like 2016, which brings out the purity of the fruit so well in all the vineyards." Wine Advocate
"Spicy nose with baked earth and blackberry fruit. The palate is rich in extract, with a core of sweetness and a hint of tannin. Long finish." Decanter
"Flavours of flowers, cedar, strawberries and chocolate follow through to a full body, with a solid core of fruit and tannins and a chewy finish. Needs time to mellow." James Suckling

“Contrada Rampante” Rosso Etna DOC 2020
Tasca became involved in Etna early on and the latest result of these years of experience are four new single-vineyard wines from the Tascante estate: Contrada Rampante, Pianodario, Sciaranuova and Sciaranuova Vigna Vecchia (V.V.). The wines are delicate and profound, and despite their strength, acidity and firm tannins, they are very elegant, full of finesse and light on the palate. Each of the four parcels brings a slightly different style and personality to the wine - due to the altitude, soil conditions and morphology of the historic lava flows. A high annual rainfall ensures that the soil has all its water reserves, and the temperature fluctuations between day and night support the variety of flavours in the grapes and ultimately the ripening potential.
The Contrada Rampante parcel lies at an average altitude of 740 metres above sea level between Solicchiata and Passopisciaro. It covers an area of just 4.6 hectares of vineyards. The soils are of volcanic origin and up to 15,000 years old.
Etna Rosso Contrada Rampante is remarkably pretty, redolent of dusty roses and cherries accompanied by ashy stone. It soothes with its silky textures and ripe red berry fruit. The lively acidity provides a lovely energy. Fine tannins linger and emphasise the youthful structure, while it finishes powerful but fresh and wonderfully perfumed. SUPERIORE.DE
"Il Cavallino Rampante is always more expressive and vertical than the wines from other contrade. Masculine aroma with iron-like notes and dark cherries, reminds me of Pinot Noir from Aloxe-Corton. Dense, yet super juicy, very long-lasting and full of character." Weinwisser
"A rich and expressive red in a bright and graceful frame. This version offers flavours of stuffed cherries, wild herbs and graphite, underscored by tarry mineral and iron accents. Focused by tangy, cranberry-influenced acidity through to the taut, fine finish." Wine Spectator
"A delicate Etna Rosso with aromas and flavours of red cherries, orange peel and flowers. Light tannins and a crisp finish. Lively." James Suckling
"The Etna Rosso Contrada Rampante 2020 has a pale ruby red colour and exudes a bouquet of dusty rose, incense, grated sage and crushed raspberries. It's round and supple, yet light on its feet, with crisp red berry fruit and sweet spice swirling over a core of brilliant acidity. A tart cranberry crispness lingers, while a hint of citrus heightens the tension on a fine web of silky tannins. This is an understated and beautiful rendition of Rampante." Vinous
"The nose is precise and fresh, with aromas of fennel, orange peel and sour cherries, and a latent earthiness acts as a calming presence. The juicy, energetic palate brings out the sweetness of the orange and cherry flavours, with an initial burst of acidity giving way to soft tannins. A highly enjoyable wine." Wine Enthusiast

“Matan” Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021
Matan Pinot Nero Riserva is the flagship of the family winery, the grapes come from the most valuable Pinot Noir vineyards in Montan. Deep ruby red in colour. The multi-layered and complex bouquet has aromas of dried cherries, lavender, orange zest, porcini mushrooms, cedar wood and cloves. Medium to full-bodied on the palate with supple, grainy tannins and fresh acidity. Concentrated, flavoursome and deliciously spiced, with a beguiling juiciness and plenty of potential. One of the great Pinot Noirs of South Tyrol! SUPERIORE.DE
"Delicate, light ruby red colour. Delicately spicy with hints of star anise and juniper, followed by ripe wild berries. Elegant and precise on the palate, fine tannins and a long finish, good pressure on the palate, paired with integrated acidity." Falstaff
"The 2021 Pinot Nero Riserva Matan is dark and brooding with a mix of floral undergrowth, cedar and dried wild berries. It opens with a pleasant inner sweetness and soft textures as ripe red and blue fruits settle on the senses. Notes of blood orange resonate, while the 2021 finishes lightly structured and with good length." Vinous
"Roasted mushrooms, black cherries and dried spices such as cloves and nutmeg on the nose, along with mocha and tobacco. The palate is firm and toasty, with medium-firm, chalky tannins." James Suckling

Wonderful aromas of sliced plums with a hint of dried flowers. Full-bodied, with well-accentuated spice, truffle and berry character. Very long and rich, yet soft and beautiful. SUPERIORE.DE
"It has a beautiful nose of dried flowers, tea leaves, cocoa beans, nutmeg and wild berries. It is focussed and precise with a firm tannin structure and a full body. Excellent balance." James Suckling
"The Barbaresco Reyna 2021 is a wonderful entry-level offering from Michele Chiarlo. Fresh, lively and exuberant, it has so much to offer. Lush dark red/purple fruit, rose petals, cedar, cinnamon, mint and blood orange are all beautifully highlighted. The 2021 shows all the textural depth that is so typical of this wine, but with an added kick of freshness that these wines don't always possess. I hope the 2021 Reyna is a sign of things to come." “Bauda” Nizza Riserva DOCG 2019
Only in the best vintages are a few parcels of Olim Bauda's vineyards in the Nizza DOCG selected for the Riserva Bauda to make one of the greatest wines of the entire, still very young appellation. The wait was clearly worth it. Deep purple red colour. Complex bouquet of red fruits with an almost tactile texture and a terrificharmony of fruit, typicity and acidity that perfectly combines the winemaker's long proven Barbera expertise and the class of the Nizza DOCG. Not only for us an absolute archetype for grape variety and origin. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep, rich and dense ruby red colour tending towards violet. Intense nose, distinctly redcurrant, undergrowth, dark chocolate, with an aftertaste of stewed plum and coffee. Pronounced on the palate, full-bodied, spicy, multi-layered with mature, sweetish tannins, beautiful drinkability and medium length." Falstaff
"Slightly earthy with dark spices, crushed wild berries, dried violets and a hint of tar. Dry and polished, but at the same time juicy and agile, with bright acidity accompanied by polished, fine tannins. Lively, red-fruity finish." James Suckling

“Schweizer” Pinot Nero Alto Adige DOC 2021
The strong ruby-red Pinot Nero Schweizer, which is only produced in the best vintages, is a masterpiece. Its bouquet is large, complex and reminiscent of very ripe small wild berries. These special flavours are also found in the mouth, in combination with ripe, candied dark cherry and delicate floral and red berry notes. Juicy, wide-ranging palate, mouth-filling and with delicate, sveltenuances and an inviting and slightly tannic body which, together with the well-proportioned acidity, gives the wine a long life. SUPERIORE.DE

“Anrar” Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021
The South Tyrolean Pinot Noir Riserva Anrar is fresh and light on the palate with wild berries and cassis, followed by dried mint and lavender flavours. This red wine fermented in steel and matured in barriques is silky and smooth, almost without rough edges. Cantina Andriano Kellerei Andrian works with a skilful hand when it comes to Pinot Noir, preserving the nuanced elegance of the grape variety's aromas. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, shiny ruby colour with a garnet red hue. Dense nose of Amarena cherries, cinnamon and slightly ethereal notes. Soft on the palate with silky tannins and juicy, savoury fruit through to the long finish." Falstaff
"One hundred per cent barrique ageing, 30 to 40 per cent of which in new barriques. Dark spice and balsamic hints, but little fruit. Initially rather austere, tight, compact on the palate. Then slightly salty in the mouth, clear freshness before power. Becomes increasingly light-footed, ethereal and delicate with air. Be sure to decant!" Vinum
"Pure and pretty, with a beam of ripe raspberry accented by hints of lavender, mountain herbs, paprika and anise. Bright plum skin acidity and light tannins are a well-integrated framework for this elegant red wine." Wine Spectator
"The Pinot Noir Riserva Anrar opens with a tantalising aroma of dusty roses, lavender and dried cherries. It shows a silky texture and floral, red and blue fruits. The lively acidity leaves you wanting more, while the 2021 finishes with admirable length and a savoury tension that tickles the cheeks." Vinous
"This wine is really chalky, with some green strawberry slices and a hint of nuts. Medium body. Velvety and crisp with a lovely texture. Wonderful finish with spice and berries. Drink and enjoy, but it will also age well." James Suckling

“Masari” Rosso Veneto Valle d’Agno IGT 2018 (BIO)
Masari's flagship presents itself in a deep, dense garnet red colour. Ripe blackberry and cassis on the nose, underpinned by bitter cocoa and ripe cherries, light leather spice and liquorice. Full and balanced on the palate, slowly but complexly spreads over the tongue, then convinces with beautiful and lasting pressure, long, salty and simply wonderful. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright, very rich ruby red colour. The nose initially smells of marzipan and precious wood, then opens up to fine wild berry fruit, blackberry and milk chocolate. On the palate with a profound depth and a great stony feel, tight tannins, fine salinity and clear, floral, sweet fruit, lingers for a long time, still a little grippy on the finish." Falstaff
"A Bordeaux-inspired blend with a detailed tannic kit, conferring depth and a je ne sais quoi seriousness, while evincing structural authority to a wave of tapenade, anise, cassis, dried sage and alpine herb. The oak is evident, but a mere adjunct rather than a yelp. A very fine example, possibly worth an additional point with the complexity that time will surely imbue." James Suckling

“Costa Grande” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2018
A little bit of everything, but never too much of a good thing. One of the most complex Nobiles we have ever tasted. Delicate red fruit with a pinch of sweetness and a floral aroma, underpinned by some tobacco and raspberry. Clear cherry flavour on the palate, plus a wonderful spiciness with that subtle sweetness in the background again. A finesse-rich and harmonious final whets the appetite for the next glass. Very successful and full of precision! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a delicately brightening rim. Fine leather aroma on the nose, delicate roasted malt flavour, fine strawberries on the finish. Very radiant on the palate, juicy, with clear red berry fruit and a powerful final with elegant spicy notes." Falstaff
"Subtle yet complex bouquet with good depth coming from red fruits and spicy flavours. A certain stony minerality adds a touch of austerity to the plums and cherries. Medium to full body with chalky tannins. Transparent and delicious." James Suckling
"The Boscarelli 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Costa Grande is amply rich and fleshed out with dark fruit, tarry smoke and toasted spice. This is a savory wine with a heavy center of gravity that would work next to braised meats or roasts. The wine remains mid-weight in stye, but the texture is velvety and rich." Vinous
"This soft red wine, made exclusively from Sangiovese, opens with aromas of ripe wild berries, undergrowth, violets and dark spices. On the polished palate, refined tannins accompany baked plums, liquorice and a hint of espresso." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Costa Grande is incredibly pretty, as crushed stone gives way to bright cherries, dusty violets, mint and a hint of animal musk. The wine feels round and supple, but gains traction from mineralised red fruits. The finish is lightly structured yet lively. Although the 2018 has only just been bottled, it shows wonderfully and is full of potential. I love it." Vinous
"This ripe and almost opulent red wine shows flavours of black cherries, blackberries, violets, iron and spices. There is a hint of wild herbs that intertwine on the long, dense finish. A tantalising expression of fruit supported by a solid structure." Wine Spectator

"On the nose, there are spicy notes of thyme, sour cherries, lemon leaves and blackcurrants as well as black olives. It is full-bodied with firm, well-integrated tannins and a tangy kick of acidity. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable from 2023." James Suckling
"Outstanding, elegant blend of Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon: spicy forest fruit flavours, a powerful start, the tannins are fine-meshed and in balance with the acidity, the finish is berry-spicy and long." Vinum
"The Geremia 2018 is outstanding. A wine full of energy and finesse, the 2018 Geremia is more about persistence than volume. Blueberry, blackberry, lavender, liquorice and scorched earth are abundant. In 2018, Geremia is a wine of tension and restraint. Its best days are still far in the future. "Pure red wine with aromas and flavours of cherry, strawberry, iron, earth and tobacco. Lean and supple in texture, with an elegant profile and a long finish that reflects the fruit and spicy notes." Wine Spectator
"Bright, medium-dense ruby with a slightly pale rim. Very fragrant and appealing nose, of ripe raspberries, fresh plums, plus notes of cinnamon, some cardamom. Firm tannin on the palate, shows good tension, but at the same time seems a bit raw, salty on the final." Falstaff
"The Petrolo 2020 Val d'Arno di Sopra Bòggina A presents the Sangiovese grape with a fresh, concentrated, almost crisp personality. This organic wine opens with aromas of wild strawberries or fragolino, lilac, blood orange and rusty earth. It has an almost shiny or brilliant character. The Bòggina A shows plenty of primary freshness, fine tannins and balanced acidity." Wine Advocate
"Very floral and pretty with aromas of orange peel and cherries that transition into a medium body with lots of tension and brightness. A dusty texture of tannins." James Suckling
"The 2020 Boggina A, 100% Sangiovese vinified and aged in amphora, is possibly the best vintage of this wine I have ever tasted. Finely sculpted and nuanced, the 2020 sizzles with energy. Crushed rocks, red fruit, spice, mint, rose petal and orange peel are all beautifully delineated throughout. Just as important, the 2020 doesn't have any of the awkward aromas and flavors that have penalized some previous editions. Superb." Vinous

“Cerdena” Vermentino di Sardegna DOC 2021
Bright golden yellow colour and a creamy bouquet of exotic fruits, banana and almond. The fruit is finely balanced with the barrique tones. Soft, warm and dense on the palate, with wonderful freshness, structure and suppleness. Good ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very minerally profile for a vermentino. On the nose are notes of brooms, salted peaches, pineapple and seaweed with a peaty touch. The attack is super savory, with a dense and weighted palate, a medium body and refreshing acidity. The toasted finish is integrated, with complex notes of cheese and candied fruit. A classy wine." “Petruna Anfora” Sangiovese Valdarno di Sopra DOC 2018 (BIO)
Just like its equally famous neighbour Fattoria Petrolo (with its Boggina A), Il Borro can also convince us with a red wine aged in amphorae. Petruna is a single-varietal Sangiovese that is fermented with 12 months of skin contact in hermetically sealed amphorae. The result is surprising, not in the sense of an "interesting" experimental wine, but because the typical character of Sangiovese is fully expressed in freshness, fruit and energy. The bouquet is dominated by cherry and small red berries, plus some orange zest. Its body is of medium weight, which makes it an excellent food companion. Its fresh acidity and a tangle of fine tannins increase the drinking pleasure enormously. We can say that the experiment was successful in an elegant way. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2018 Valdarno di Sopra Petruna Sangiovese in Anfora is fresh and vibrant in the glass, with a wild display of zesty red berries, sweet spice and peppery herbs. On the palate, soft textures are firmed up by brisk acids, ushering in notes of raspberry and cherry, while tugging at the cheeks with grippy tannins, yet still so lively. The finish is medium in length with a salty twang of minerality, as inner florals slowly taper off. This 100% Sangiovese is aged in Anfora and really shows the worth of this revitalized yet ancient technique of winemaking. Very nice." Vinous
"This is another exciting wine from Il Borro that is now back in the Valdarno di Sopra appellation. The 2018 Valdarno di Sopra Sangiovese in Anfora Petruna is the Ferragamo family's amphorae-based wine, created as a way of showcasing the purity and sharpness of Sangiovese from this tiny, new and exciting appellation. This is a wine of character, showing the pure forest berry, bitter almond and earthy aromas that are associated with the grape. You also get some clay and terracotta from the hands-off winemaking process. You could pair this wine with a lasagna rich in cheese, because the acidity of the grape is ever-present to clean your palate." Wine Advocate
"Extremely floral with sweet cherries, as well as flowers and hints of mushrooms. Medium to full body with a lovely, creamy texture that seems so pinot noir-like. But this is sangiovese from a single vineyard, aged in amphora for one year. No wood here. Love the finish." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino “Pelagrilli” DOCG 2018
Pelagrilli 2018 offers a great package of intensity, freshness, firmness and complexity. It delivers generously on all fronts. The bouquet reveals wild cherry, rosehip, dried herbs and toasted almonds. The fruit here tastes less ripe compared to the wines from the southern parts of the appellation and one senses a subtle acidic vein on the finish. This very classic Brunello should age in the bottle for a few more years and gain volume. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby garnet with brightening rim. Very clear and intense nose, lots of blackberry, ripe dark cherry, dried tomato in the background. Shows nice, accessible cherry fruit on the palate, opens up in many layers with grippy tannin, balsamic notes and firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"Wild blueberries, crushed violets, allspice, spiced orange peel and a hint of cocoa are found in the glass. The region's clay soils give the wine a velvety smooth and undeniably elegant feel with a dense textural wave of ripe, dark red fruits that coat the palate in concentration, complemented by sweet herbal notes within and a hint of lavender. Like the proverbial iron fist in a velvet glove, the 2018 reveals a massive wall of fine-grained tannins on the finish, leaving only nuances of sour citrus and currants. This untamed beast of a Brunello will need a long ageing to develop all its charms. It's worth noting that no Riserva PS is bottled in this vintage, so all the juice was used to top up the Pelagrilli and Rosso." Vinous
"A fruity version packed with cherry, raspberry, floral and stony mineral aromas and flavors. A vibrant and elegant red, with a firm line of tannins guarding the finish. Shows superb balance and future potential." Wine Spectator
"The Siro Pacenti 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Pelagrilli presents in an elegantly designed bottle with plenty of dark fruit and blackberry, the quality of the fruit is powerful, fresh and still very much alive. The house style relies on concentration and oak spice, but the attention to detail in the winemaking is impeccable." Wine Advocate
"Complex and layered with truffles, white pepper, cardamom, dried cherries, blueberries, bay leaves, fresh mushrooms and potpourri. Sophisticated and weightless, with medium to full body and very finely woven tannins that have more texture. Everything so beautifully integrated. Drinkable from 2024." James Suckling
"North-eastern territory, from a company that has made history. A concrete project of sustainability as substantial as this Brunello, which comes from the youngest vineyards. On the nose, Marasca cherries, nuances of eucalyptus and white pepper. The drinkability is dense, crisp, balsamic with a fruity-spicy finish." Luca Gardini

“Bradisismo” Cabernet-Carménère Colli Berici DOC 2020
1997 saw the birth of Bradisismo, named after the geological event that led to the formation of the Colli Berici. It is a successful symbiosis of the intense, concentrated flavour of ripe Cabernet cherries and the lively, spicy notes of Carménère. With its bouquet of small dark berries, spices, pepper and chocolate, it is a wonderfully inexpensive alternative to the great Bordeaux blends or Supertuscans. On the palate, it has a velvety texture, with a mix of dark fruits, cherries, floral notes and fine tannins that glide seamlessly over the palate. Deep, long finish and very good ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Cassis and framboise through a matrix of dried oregano, tarragon and dried mushrooms. The fruit is perfectly moulded and cut by the acidity of the ripe tomato with a hint of cool, sharp spice from the tomato vine. Powerful but very refined tannins. Long and secure." Jancis Robinson
"Shows pure, juicy aromas of ripe blackcurrant, layered with pretty accents of violets, tar, ground coffee, wild sage and fine-grained tannins. Concentrated and creamy on the palate, with notes of fresh earth and forest floor that lend the fruit a savoury note on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The Inama 2020 Colli Berici Cabernet Bradisismo is something special, and not just because of its unusual grape blend. It is a full-bodied and particularly accessible red wine that offers great versatility and plenty of potential for pairing with other dishes. This vintage shows a soft ripeness of both grape varieties with a rich, full-bodied texture. The finish is savoury with a hint of pepper." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Cabernet Bradisismo is dusty and floral in the glass with vibrant wild berries complemented by nuances of rose, sage and graphite. It has a soft texture and a pleasant feel with a blend of tart red berries and sweet spice enlivened by zesty acidity. A hint of fine tannins and a touch of black liquorice linger on the finish, which is lightly structured and spicy. It's a warm vintage, but the balance here is great." Vinous
"In the glass with aromas of crushed blackberries, Marasca cherries in liquor, crushed red and blue flowers, cedar and mixed spices. Bold flavors pop on the palate but are restrained by an elegant mix of tannin, acidity and savory elements that do not want to let loose just yet." Wine Enthusiast
"A historic bottle, now in its 20th year. Cabernet, with a significant proportion of Carmenère, cranberries and pepper leaves on the nose, a hint of undergrowth, a touch of orange peel, a spicy drink, with a citrusy finish." Luca Gardini
"An almost balanced blend of Cabernet and Carmenere, with an increasing proportion of Merlot and Franc. Purple vibrancy. Spread of green olives. Chilli, mint, dark chocolate and dense boysenberry confectionery. And yet the flavour, although full-bodied, is incredibly spicy. The oak is a seductive frame that blends effortlessly with the wine's density and modern, forward style. This wine is strongly reminiscent of a Bordeaux, with an added measure of finesse and richness." James Suckling

Vermouth di Torino · in gift box
From the beginning, Pio Cesare produced limited quantities of Barolo Chinato and Vermouth, precisely according to a family recipe handed down by his grandfather. In the early 1950s, however, production was discontinued as tastes and preferences changed.
In recent years, it has been noted that Piedmont lovers are again increasingly craving traditional character, strong personality and great individuality in aromatic wines and in wine-based aperitifs. As a result, the decision was made to produce small quantities of Barolo Chinato and Vermouth again - again strictly according to a secret family recipe that was kept under lock and key for many years under the careful supervision of the grandmother, granddaughter of the founder.
Besides the absinthe, which is essential for making a good vermouth, it is refined with a mixture of 26 aromatic herbs such as marjoram leaves, gentian roots, orange zest and others, which are dosed together strictly according to the traditional family recipe. Various white wines from the winery are added, including Moscato d'Asti. After a 15-day maceration, the resulting vermouth is aged in oak barrels for at least 4 months. The recipe is finally rounded off with the addition of caramelised sugar, which gives this vermouth its light colour and distinctive aroma and flavour. Connoisseurs enjoy it in the old "Piedmontese style": without ice, but only with a small slice of lemon peel. SUPERIORE.DE
"Thanks to its funky retro packaging, this is one of the most exciting projects to come out of downtown Alba in a very long time. The Pio Cesare NV Vermouth di Torino sees a base of Chardonnay enhanced with Moscato. (Like the estate's other fortified wine, the Barolo Chinato, only 1,000 bottles are released per year.) The Vermouth pours forth from the bottle with an orange or copper color. It is thick and viscous, taking its time as it swirls around the bowl of my glass. The bouquet reveals mountain herb and medicinal tones, with lots of mint and spearmint. There is some blood orange, citrus, licorice, camphor ash, vanilla and spice. This Vermouth is all fun and charm." Wine Advocate

“Zero” Metodo Classico Alta Langa Riserva DOCG 2017 pas dosé
This is where the sea and the volcano meet: straw yellow with golden reflections. Opens with a delicate aroma of ripe yellow peach, melon, dried banana, a hint of vanilla, then smoke with a dark, mineral undertone and a subtle hint of coriander. Explosively flavoursome on the palate with a fine-grained perlage and beguiling juiciness, with an exciting balsamic note and an inspiring, bone-dry freshness and fine saltiness on the endless finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow with delicate copper-gold reflections. Grapey at the beginning, then unroasted hazelnuts, some pear, banana and pink flowers on the nose. On the palate with elegant fruit melting, savoury, on yellow peach with well-integrated perlage, creamy final, on fine nougat, fine persistence, long." Falstaff
"Firm and minerally, with the fine chalkiness of the mousse softening the impact of this white's mouthwatering acidity. Carries notes of fresh-cut apple, Marcona almond, white cherry and dried herbs." Wine Spectator
"The Alta Langa Zero 2017 is as fresh as a breath of mountain air. White smoke and stone dust give way to crushed green apples and a hint of pine slices. The palate is edgy and mineral, while a silky wave of fine bubbles provides balance and crisp fruit trees add a distinct savouriness on the inside. It finishes with admirable length yet remarkable freshness, leaving a savoury finish that caresses the tongue. This is an intense experience, to say the least, one that keeps the taster coming back for more." Vinous
"Green apple and lemon zest/oil dominate the aromatic profile and show a mineral character. On the palate, the wine is lean and savoury and goes perfectly with oysters and other seafood." Wine Enthusiast
"Another refined blend dominated by Pinot Noir, taut, crystalline and intense. On the nose, notes of lime, sage and apricot with menthol notes. Great acidity on the palate, with a return of menthol and fruity notes. Beautiful finish." Luca Gardini

“Bòggina A” Sangiovese Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC 2021 (BIO)
The A in the name of Boggina stands for the natural wine aged for around 6 months in 400-600 Liters terracotta amphorae, which is bottled in a run of just 5,000 bottles without the addition of sulphites. Light, bright garnet red in colour. The bouquet is ethereal, very delicate and nuanced, with a very precise interpretation of the fragrance of the Sangiovese grape. Medium-bodied on the palate, with an exceptionally beautiful structure and authentic Sangiovese fruit with a salty vein. The finish is highly drinkable, with silky tannins and beguiling length. A masterpiece of beauty and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, shiny ruby red colour. Delicate, sugared forest fruit on the nose, some ripe red apple, light spice, restrained. On the palate with pithy, juicy, slightly vegetal tannins, plus very lively acidity, still very young, appears somewhat narrow overall." Falstaff
"This red wine is pure and smooth in texture and offers aromas and flavours of cherry, strawberry, rose and iron. Charming and concentrated, with a fine intensity and a long, savoury aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"The Petrolo 2021 Val d'Arno di Sopra Bòggina A was created in a year that winemaker Luca Sanjust describes as a difficult year for agriculture, but which ultimately led to great results. The wine shows a particularly dense and firm character that becomes almost Burgundian with time, with floral notes and blood orange. The sulphites are kept to a minimum to give the wine the drive and vigour that works so well. This wine is now a primary wine with a crisp fruit quality. Give it time to age." Wine Advocate
"Very perfumed with aromas of cherries, terracotta and cedar wood. Crystal clear. Medium-bodied with very integrated tannins and a fresh finish. It is polished and bright. Made in an amphora. Drink now or keep." James Suckling
"Sanguine, earthy and alive on the nose, with the warm density of dried cherries and dried cranberries shot through with tang of gunpowder and black pepper. Orange zest and more pepper and metal lift red cherries and red plum skin off the palate, which seems to vibrate with energy and acid. Immediately delicious, with the promise of yet more elegance to come." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2021 Boggina A, 100% Sangiovese in amphorae, is brilliant. Medium-bodied and wonderfully translucent, the 2021 captures all the magic of the year in its finely cut, chiselled personality. Once again, Luca Sanjust and his team have produced a stunning, vibrant Sangiovese that is a far cry from previous vintages, when this wine was often much less pure." Vinous
