Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019
Neris Brunello 2019 is a classic wine with pleasant contrasts and a focussed structure. Ripe dark fruit and autumnal spices contrast with savoury herbs and a hint of animal musk. The palate is silky, cool and airy, with a noticeable inner sweetness in the polished cherry and berry flavours, then veers more towards inner earth and minerals, showing beautifully articulated and grippy tannins. Streamlined and compact in the mouth with a lively, racy finish and great potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense, delicately reductive bouquet that beguiles with plenty of typical cherry and pomegranate fruit as well as blue fruits such as plums, backed by tobacco and dark gianduja chocolate as well as balsamic nuances. Elegant, incredibly full-bodied palate with juicy contours and grippy, yet sweet tannins. A grippy, animating, long final with cranberry juice, orange peel and delicately reductive, savoury notes. Good potential." Weinwisser
"Powerful ruby colour with a light garnet rim. Very appealing, open nose, with notes of wild raspberry and blackberry, plus fresh tobacco and a fine spicy note. Polished and fine on the attack and on the palate, showing lots of juicy, dark fruit paired with dense tannins, spans a wide arc, very good drinking flow." Falstaff
"Redcurrants and lavender, followed by layers of dried herbs and spices. Full-bodied and lush on the palate with chewy tannins. Persistent long finish with citrus flavours. Still young, healthy and concentrated. Very attractive now and in the future." James Suckling
"The core of ripe cherry fruit is complemented by woody, mushroomy, ferrous, spicy and savoury flavours in this intense red, with a long, resonant aftertaste. Although balanced, it could use a few more years to reach its sweet spot." Wine Spectator
"The Casanova di Neri 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows dense fruit tissue with hints of undergrowth, pressed rose, light cherry, tobacco and balanced oak spice. This wine definitely has a special furrow. It offers a ripe, round texture with good acidity, followed by fine, chalky tannins. This is an impressive quality. In fact, this is one of the best village Brunellos that Giacomo Neri and his family have produced to date." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino lifts from the glass with a lovely floral bouquet, mixing rose petal, lavender and violet with hints of worn leather and dusty earth. This is a model of balance and purity, with crisp wild berry fruits guided by fresh acidity as a cascade of sweet spice gives way to fine-grained tannins toward the close. It finishes impossibly long and staining yet still fresh, tapering off classically structured and dry. The future is bright for this wonderfully harmonious White Label Brunello from Casanova di Neri." Vinous
"A great classic of the house, a work of impeccable finesse between land and cellar for an emblematic product. On the nose, raspberry, a hint of white pepper, a touch of laurel and peony, then nuances of sweet liquorice. Salty and juicy in the mouth, with raspberry and floral notes." Luca Gardini

“Contrada BB Bombolieri” Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2021 (BIO)
The Frappato Vino di Contrada BB from the single vineyard Bombolieri is the darkest and most saturated of the three Frappato wines. This vineyard lies high on a promontory with white limestone soils. The expression is open and accessible like the other wines, but in this wine there is an added layer of earth or potting soil to the bright red and black fruits one perceives on the nose. This wine also seems to have extra layering and textural richness. All this fruit is topped with a fresh acidity that plays a big role and makes this wine a nice partner for creamy fettuccine. Only 2,400 bottles were produced. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fresh raspberry and floral notes, fine mineral vein; balanced texture with well-integrated tannins, noticeable acidity, precise and long." Vinum
"It reveals deep aromas of dark cherries, hazelnuts and iron intermingled with airier nuances of wild violets, black tea and balsamic herbs. Youthful grippy tannins frame a surprisingly vibrant and pure Nebbiolo-like finish, with bitter orange and ploughed earth complementing crunchy red and black fruits, vermouth-like botanical herbs and iodine, shaping a long and powerful finish that suggests excellent Storage potential. The wine comes from a 40-year-old parcel that lies on pebbles over layers of white limestone." Decanter

“Contrada FL Fossa di Lupo” Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2021 (BIO)
The Frappato Vino di Contrada FL (from Contrada Fossa di Lupo) shows a slightly looser texture than the other two Contrada wines that have been part of Arianna Occhipinti's portfolio for 5 vintages. The Contrada Fossa di Lupo provides much of the fruit used for the entire Occhipinti line. It consists of sandy limestone with red and dark brown clay veins. The wine shows aromas of red fruits, including plums and blackberries. Slight hints of exotic spices only emerge after the Frappato has had time to really unpack in the glass. This wine is perhaps the most open of the three. Only 2,700 bottles were produced. SUPERIORE.DE
"Shows a dark ruby colour and has the most uncompromising nose among the 'vini di contrada', requiring a few minutes to shed some of its gamey exuberance and unveil aromas of freshly picked bramble fruits, tapenade, and soy sauce. It is also more tannic than the other two single-vineyard Frappato, demanding a bit of cellaring to fully come together. Sour cherries mingle with mouthwatering minerals and a touch of earthiness on the slightly powdery finish." Decanter

“Morandina” Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2017
"My personal challenge is to bring Amarone back to the table. A wonderful food companion that combines power and complexity with a crisp, soft sip." Graziano Prà
Brilliant ruby red colour. The aromas are intense and complex with notes of stewed plums, cloves, sage and dark chocolate. On the palate, cherry and plum as well as a beautiful component of bitter cocoa and liquorice. The texture is velvety, but also lively and juicy, with lively acids that tantalise the palate with mineral-tinged red fruits and sweet spices. In the complex final, the wine becomes darker and more intense, revealing blackcurrant, herbal notes and a hint of bitter coffee. Morandina offers the intensity of an Amarone, but in a spicy and balanced style that is very attractive. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Morandina is youthfully coy, slowly evolving with a delicate blend of dusty rose, stone dust and dried strawberries. This displays fantastic balance, cooling and crisp, with silken textures and depths of red and black fruits that slowly saturate. Crunchy tannins resonate as the 2017 tapers off dramatically long and staining, leaving a pleasantly bitter twang and saline minerals to linger on." Vinous

“Bòggina B” Trebbiano Toscana IGT 2022 (BIO)
Bòggina Bianco is an extremely deep, flavoursome and fresh Trebbiano from vines that are around 50 years old. It is the result of Luca Sanjust's encounter with Lucien Le Moine (Mounir Souma), a major producer in Burgundy, who has contributed significantly to the success of this extraordinary project with his inspiration and expertise. Vinification takes place in French oak barrels and tonneaux specially made for this wine and selected by Lucien Le Moine. The wine remains "sur lies" (on the lees) for the entire ageing period of over 2 years, which gives it an incredibly fresh flavour and harmony. An extremely rare and very delicious exceptional white wine, which is only produced in small quantities of a few 1,000 bottles. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant straw yellow colour with a gentle cloudiness. Pronounced nose of blood orange, cinchona bark, rhubarb and lime, with a touch of star anise. Expansive on the palate, with a gentle grip on animating acidity, fresh and juicy through to the lingering finish." Falstaff
"The 2022 Trebbiano Boggina B is one of the best versions of this wine that I have tasted. Slight tropical overtones give it an exotic flair. White flowers, tangerine peel, mint, spice and a hint of reduction adorn this understated, nuanced Trebbiano. Profound yet light-footed, the 2022 is very well done." Vinous

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2015
Our insider tip for years - only 9,000 bottles are coming onto the world market this year from the 2015 vintage! What hardly anyone knows: Enrica and Ettore learned how to make wine from none other than Giancarlo Pacenti.
The grapes for this vinophile masterpiece come from a small vineyard in Castelnuovo dell'Abate. Deep, full-bodied expression with warm aromatic layers that give an impressive intensity to the bouquet of dark plum, blackberry, dried cherry, liquorice, tar, black truffle and leather. Then on the palate a beguiling extract sweetness, again very complex and resonant, in silent harmony with the characteristics of the exceptional terroir. The 36 months very slow aging in large oak barrels sort for a wonderful harmony and a very good aging potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ample and round, sporting cherry, plum, earth and saline flavors. Well-mannered tannins are integrated, lending an overall impression of freshness. Fine length. Best from 2023 through 2040." Wine Spectator
"Deep red-ruby. Almost hypnotic aromas of ripe red cherry, black cherry-cola, incense, violet, dried rose and minerals. Structured and sweet red and darker fruit flavors are graceful and finely etched, picking up savory spice and floral elements with aeration. Perhaps a touch less multifaceted than some other Brunellos from this estate, but brimming with early appeal and enough balance to easily last another fifteen to twenty years in a good cellar." Vinous
"Here's an elegant and classic expression of the vintage. The Sesta di Sopra 2015 Brunello di Montalcino shows solid balance with its dark fruit flavors offset by tart cherry and fresh menthol. The oak tones are nicely tucked in and integrated, offering substance that builds the wine's structure but does not take away from its elegance. Balanced acidity adds a pretty touch to the mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"Beautiful ripeness, but also balance on the nose, which features cinnamon, dried cedar, dried plums, dark chocolate and licorice. Expansive and comprehensive on the palate with outward-veering tannins and lots of treacle-tart undertones. Chewy and decadent. Drink from 2025." James Suckling

Barbaresco DOCG 2018
Bright and radiant, with lots of Nebbiolo character, it is a successful interpretation of the terroir and shows the great class of the winery. On the nose, sweet red cherries, tobacco, mint, anise and white pepper. Medium-bodied and graceful on the palate with a good balance of perfume, acidity and structure. With further bottle ageing, it looks forward to a great evolution. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium-light red; fruity-smoky, also barrel, caramel, rubber, inviting; fruit, medium-bodied, powerful, lots of round tannin, length." Merum
"Sparkling, medium-dense ruby garnet. Inviting, very finely marked nose with pronounced notes of wild raspberry, rosehip and black tea. Substantial, with pithy tannin on the palate, showing lots of pressure, savoury, lingers long." Falstaff
"Straight medium ruby. Perfumed cherry fruit with subtle oak and a hint of cumin. Fresh, supple cherry fruit with a spicy note and firm but ripe and crisp tannins. Great length and juiciness." Jancis Robinson
"A rich, earthy style that evokes aromas of cherry, raspberry, iron and tobacco. Broad tannins announce the finish, but it remains balanced and long." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Barbaresco Pio is noble, elegant and wonderfully polished. Sweet spices, cedar, tobacco, leather and dried cherries open up effortlessly. This graceful, medium-bodied Barbaresco has a lot going for it and is very drinkable from the start. The silky, ethereal qualities of the Nebbiolo are evident." Vinous
"Pio Cesare stands out for its classics, and this wine is one of them. The 2018 Barbaresco (released a year later than its competitors) offers a light ripeness of candied raspberry with lilac, tarry smoke, cedar and spice. The mouthfeel is silky smooth with gently integrated tannins." Wine Advocate
"Strawberries with notes of walnuts, asphalt and bark. Also dried flowers. Full-bodied with fine, racy tannins and a very long, beautiful finish. Fine tannins. Shows excellent length for the vintage." James Suckling
"The Barbaresco of Pio Cesare, always a certainty, from the Treiso and San Rocco sub-areas. On the nose, red currants in jam, with nuances of star anise and rhubarb. The mouthfeel is crisp, dense, with spicy tannins and a fruity finish." Luca Gardini

“Pietro dal Cero” Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2017
Pietro dal Cero grows on the extensive and sunny Luxinum vineyard at the foot of the Monti Lessini. A magnificent, dark ruby-red Amarone. Its sumptuous aromas range from lovely floral nuances to fruity sour cherry and blackberry to balsamic notes such as star anise and merge into a multi-layered bouquet. On the palate, there are hints of dark chocolate, memories of tobacco, coffee and cardamom as well as a hint of mint. A full-bodied, complex wine, the pronounced tannin caresses the palate velvety, a fresh, lively acidity brings lightness and freshness to the long finish, which benefits from nutty accents. Good ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, rich ruby red colour. Animating aroma of ripe, dark fruit, caramel and cedar wood. Creamy and mouth-filling on the palate, harmonious with well-integrated tannins and a powerful, fruity finish." Falstaff
"Deep dark red colour with a black core. Juicy and floral aroma of dark plum, black cherry, lavender and rose petals. Lush on the palate, as befits an Amarone. Concentrated flavours of cherries, elderberry, vanilla, coffee and eucalyptus. The alcohol is totally restrained, amazing. The finish is predominantly carried by the fruit. It simply has everything a well-rounded Amarone needs." Vinum

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
Deep, dark Riserva with a powerful berry bouquet and intense spicy notes and hints of damp forest floor. Taut on the palate, crisp fruit, solid tannins, good length. Lots of energy, nice spice and great potential! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby colour with a fine garnet sheen. Very intense and inviting nose, flavours of raspberries, cherry jam and hazelnut biscuits. Firm tannins dominate the palate, lots of damson." Falstaff
"On the nose, the sweetness of cherry and vanilla is balanced by the gentle bitterness of orange zest and herbs. On the palate, a rush of chocolate invigorates the fruit element, but balance is maintained by an earthiness that's drawn out by chalky, clingy tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2019 is a blend of Sangiovese (90%) with smaller proportions of Merlot and Colorino. It shows a dark, saturated appearance and a heavy aromatic load of black fruits, ripe cherries, plums, spices and sweet floral earth. The wine finishes with medium concentration, herbal notes and the natural freshness of Sangiovese." Wine Advocate
"There's a good balance of fruit and oak here, with red berries and fine oak giving off a hint of vanilla. Medium to full-bodied with well-integrated fruit and oak tannins and a sort of plump feel on the palate. The finish is medium length at the moment but should lengthen with time in the bottle. Try it from mid-2024." James Suckling

“Lieben Aich” Sauvignon Bianco Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2021 (BIO)
"Unlike anything you know: this single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc is wild and unspoilt. A special experience for wine lovers." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Golden yellow Sauvignon with rich, complex aromas of ripe tropical fruit such as mango, papaya and passion fruit. Full-bodied on the palate, otherwise rather mineral like wet stone and with a juicy acidity. The long finish is also a harmonious exchange of blows between austere minerality and ripe fruit. Lieben Aich is a rustic and rare experience for true Sauvignon fans (only around 3,000 bottles filled)! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, sparkling straw yellow. Opens with appealing notes of lemon balm and sage, then some lime and green peach. Round and balanced on the palate, shows very good tension, juicy fruit, full-bodied pressure on the final." Falstaff
"Like Tannenberg, this is also from the Lieben Aich vineyard, but with very slightly lower yields and lower production. It's made in the same way but with an extra month in barrel. It's a more floral style, showing more freshness and some green fruits on the nose. Intense and more compact, it's textured, limey and slightly leesy, with some peachy fruit, a touch of spice and then some more creamy green fruits to finish." Decanter
"A unique Sauvignon with a beautiful nose that shows the freshness of the mountain air together with the minerality of gravel and subtle notes of stone fruit, honey, dried summer herbs and raw almonds. The palate shows great tension with a medium to full body, even, long-lasting acidity and salty undertones. Hints of minerals and salted lemons with a delicate, silky finish." James Suckling

“Monografia 2” Sangiovese di Romagna Marzeno Riserva DOC 2017
Here comes the second vintage of Zerbina's single-vineyard Sangiovese, with which the winery once again proves in a very small edition (< 1,000 bottles) once again proves what great Sangiovese Romagna can produce. Dark-fruited, full nose with a cornucopia of dark berry fruits and hints of forest floor, tar and white ash. Firm on the palate, enormously complex, the concentrated fruit gradually opens up with further airing and a Sangiovese work of art is revealed that could not be more typical, pure and at the same time more complex. Great compliment! SUPERIORE.DE
"Hedonist factor max. Mid to deep ruby. A super-enticing nose of chalky, concentrated cherry and damson fruit dabbed with sweet oak notes and with the merest suggestion of rosemary and cinnamon. The tannins add the fireworks. They are simply perfect, gravelly and ripe. Long, lush and finely balanced, this will age gracefully but I caught it at just this irresistible stage. A wine that makes you happy. The generous character of this vintage shines through in the ripe fruit, but it will be rewarding to see this age." Jancis Robinson
"Dark, elegant ruby red, brightening rim. Complex, inviting nose of fine noble wood, then ripe cherries, wild strawberries, also a hint of dried red petals, light leather and cedar in the finish. Tightly meshed and compact on the palate, opens with a juicy undertone, lovely elegant red fruit, currently still a little marked by the wood, will come together magnificently, long." Falstaff

Brunello di Montalcino “Vigna Spuntali” DOCG 2018
The Spuntali vineyard is historically known as the best area of the south-west, sea-facing slope of Montalcino. Spuntali is a historic cru for Brunello di Montalcino: it is its unique terroir, it is also the sunniest and driest of the three slopes of Brunello, and the sea, just 40 kilometres away, already provides a Mediterranean climate here.
The Mediterranean generally plays a decisive role here, moderating the warm summer nights and cold winters. This enables an early reawakening of the plant in spring and an important day/night temperature change in summer. Due to these special climatic conditions, it is the vineyard whose grapes are harvested first in the appellation. Here, the Sangiovese takes advantage of the beneficial effects of the sun, reaches maximum ripeness and produces rather creamy wines with sweet, soft tannins and notes of candied fruit.
Deep ruby-garnet colour. Develops a warm, intense and refined bouquet of ripe fruit with notes of sour cherry, dried figs and candied fruit. On the palate, the sweet and soft tannins accompany the long finish, rich in notes of plums and blackberries. The palate is deeply layered with rich flavours of cherries, blackberries and dark fruits. There is plenty to discover in the background: spices, leather and balsamic herbs. All these elements are skilfully interwoven and make for a very impressive interpretation of the Sangiovese grape. SUPERIORE.DE
"Elegant, dark, bright ruby red colour. Savoury and inviting nose, precise aromas of cherries, graphite and Mediterranean herbs, with subtle hints of black tea on the finish. Beautiful juiciness and polished, present fruit on the palate, accessible, albeit complex, shows tightly woven tannins and plenty of finesse, has benefited from bottle ageing." Falstaff
"Though light and elegant, offering cherry, strawberry and floral flavors, this red also boasts dense tannins for its profile. Finds a nice equilibrium by the finish, despite the powdery tannins coating the gums." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Spuntali is wild, with more flowers than fruit, incense, wet stones and wild herbs. It opens with a pretty inner sweetness and a texture of pure silk that lays across the palate with ease, while tart wild berries nestle under a hint of purple flowers. Although tannic, it is only lightly structured, as the residual acids provide a framework that keeps the mouth watering while the hint of sweet rose slowly fades. The 2018 Vigna Spuntali is unlike any Brunello I've ever tasted, and yet I keep returning to this glass." Vinous
"Tarry red fruit, orange peel, dry earth and hints of new leather and shells. Juicy, medium-bodied on the palate with firm, creamy tannins and a long, spicy finish." James Suckling
"The Vigna Spuntali is located in the warm south-west of Montalcino on galestro and sandy soils. The wine is vinified in concrete tanks and then matures for six months in barriques and 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. Intense aromas of black and red cherries lead to a fresh and lively flavour of fleshy, juicy black and red berries and cherries, with strong tannins and a long finish. Weighty yet well balanced." Barbaresco Muncagota Riserva DOCG 2019
Muncagota is rich, deep and super-expressive every year, hitting all the right notes. Black cherry, plum, spice, leather and liquorice emerge, but all very hesitantly and with plenty of aeration, better: with further bottle ageing. Muncagota is one of the examples from the famous series of nine Riserve that clearly needs time. And you should give it time, and the patient will be richly rewarded. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Barbaresco Riserva Muncagota 2019 is developing into a great wine. The 2019 is characterised by a very clear brightness that is not always present. The Muncagota is medium-bodied and graceful, with excellent balance, and is very impressive in this first tasting of the 2019 Riservas. It could prove to be one of the surprises in this range. Keep an eye on it." Vinous
"Aromas of raspberries and wild berries with hints of graphite, tea leaves and cocoa. Medium bodied with a polished and silky mid palate that finishes with a firm and chewy aftertaste. Overall it is fresh and lively." James Suckling
"The nose opens with aromas of dried cranberry and redcurrant, mingling in a bowl of aniseed, cloves and freshly cut herbs. Firm and structured with a lifted freshness that cuts across the palate. On the palate, it translates the flavours perfectly, with a hint of crushed stone adding another layer to this wine that needs a stay in the cellar." Wine Enthusiast
"A sleek, high-toned red, featuring rose, strawberry, cherry, mineral and wild herb aromas and flavors. Linear in profile and racy, this builds nicely to a long, complex aftertaste. Shows excellent balance overall, with finesse and intensity." Wine Spectator

Limitation of 6 articles per customerBrunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2016
Poggio Landis Brunello Riserva from the dream vintage 2016 is rich in fascinating floral notes. This wine is a statement of elegance and sensory freshness. Elderflower, geranium, noble magnolia and camphor on the nose. Full-bodied, powerful and lively on the palate, it is bursting with vigour and healthy tension with fine-grained, velvety tannins and a long, ethereal finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The dark, seductive 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva blends crushed stone with exotic spices, sour cherry and a hint of animal musk. It has a deep texture, but is also very mineral and offers juicy acids that enliven the red berry fruit inside. It is classically dry and refined, with a lovely inner rose and a hint of liquorice. Poggio Landi refines its Riserva for 48 months in French Allier oak barrels, although this is not evident on the nose." Vinous
"A blend of plum, blackberry, sage and earthy flavours characterise this rich, powerful red wine. Remains fresh and balanced, with a compact finish, offering sufficient length and energy." Wine Spectator
"Straightforward and racy Brunello with the character of dark berries, black chocolate and black tea. Medium to full body with fine tannins that are long and structured. Very well made." James Suckling
"The Poggio Landi 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva offers plenty of brightness and freshness in the form of wild cherry, cassis, chopped mint, cola and liquorice root. It is a medium to full-bodied Brunello with a beautiful ruby red colour and a rich appearance. Nevertheless, the wine is light and fresh on the palate and retains much of the elegance for which the 2016 vintage will be remembered." Wine Advocate
"Rose, perfumed berries, truffle and new leather aromas make up the tantalising nose. Full-bodied and savoury, the elegantly structured palate offers crushed raspberries, ripe sour cherries, liquorice and mocha, framed by velvety, fine-grained tannins." Wine Enthusiast

“Fratta” Rosso Veneto IGT 2018
Every year, Fratta is a groundbreaking blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that you can't help but love. Fratta proved the Veneto's potential for winemaking when it was first produced in 1977, the year Angela Maculan (a second daughter) was born. Deep, complex fruit bouquet, rounded off with fine sweet spices, tobacco and coffee. On the palate, beautiful lines and a sharp focus with dry mineral tones framing dark fruits, dried cherries and exotic spices. Fratta is a bold and big wine and there is no doubting the profound elegance of this highly personalised expression. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, almost impenetrable violet colour with ruby. Very fragrant nose of juicy cherries, cassis, some red pepper, violets and earth. Lots of sweet fruit on the palate, embedded in grippy, hard tannins, spicy, almost savoury, on bitter chocolate, still a little overhanging wood on the finish, still quite harsh on the final." Falstaff
"A deep and dense nose of redcurrants and black cherries and a hint of slightly charred oak. Medium bodied with a cool and crystalline feel on the palate. The tannins are still firm, but the super-pure fruit pushes through beautifully. Best from 2025." James Suckling
"Dark and balsamic in the glass, the 2018 Fratta displays aromas of crushed blackberry and wild blueberry accompanied by lavender, clove and camphor. This wine is supremely elegant and refined, with a polished wave of ripe red and blue fruits supported by a core of vibrant acidity, while cooling mineral tones provide a breezy lift towards the finish. This heady experience is emphasised by sweet tannins and a slightly bitter spiciness, while the 2018 finishes long and classically structured. The inner harmony that Maculan has captured here is breathtaking." Vinous
"A traditional and complex Bordeaux from Veneto. Notes of blackberry jam, black peppercorns, a hint of marjoram and nutmeg. Salty and fruity on the palate, with a spicy finish." Luca Gardini

“Passorosso” Etna DOC 2020 · MAGNUM
Passorosso is a single-varietal Nerello Mascalese that shows fine garnet-red reflections in its bright ruby red. Proud and fascinating, it presents an intense bouquet of red berries, coffee and olives. Its engaging taste convinces with clear, well-defined fruit and pronounced minerality. Graceful and special. SUPERIORE.DE
"A juicy aroma of black cherry and plum, mint and a little graphite accompany the fruit. It also shows juice and power on the palate, dark cherries are structured by a grippy tannin. The acidity gives the wine a lot of freshness. The grapes for the wine come from 80 to 120 year old vines." Vinum
"The Etna Rosso Passorosso 2020 has a bright and powerful bouquet with blackcurrants, rosemary sprigs, white pepper, cola and ferrous earth or rusty nails. The bouquet has a sanguine, almost metallic note. As it progresses, the wine shows medium texture, firm tannins and good length." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Passorosso is spicy and shows dried flowers, hints of cardamom and white pepper before the dusty cherry fruit comes to the fore. Soft and enveloping, it impresses with a pure blend of red fruits and inner rose tones accompanied by cooling acidity. It finishes lightly structured with a bitter aftertaste of concentrated sour cherries. While the Passorosso is typically a more forward expression, the 2020 could do with another year in the cellar before showing its best. Nevertheless, it is a very nice wine with a lot of potential." Brunello di Montalcino “La Pieve” DOCG 2019
Beautifully balanced on the nose with dried roses, blackcurrants, earth and balsamic herbs. The Brunello di Montalcino La Pieve, with its tannins and strong, primary fruity core on the palate, shows a somewhat greater firmness and power than the Annata. This wine is so youthful yet full of balanced components; salty minerals, liquorice and tart blackberries linger incredibly long under a hint of purple flowers. It needs a little more bottle ageing before it begins to shine. With this single-vineyard Brunello from Castelnuovo dell'Abate, La Gerla succeeds in bringing out the purity of Sangiovese in a remarkable way. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense, red berry, super floral bouquet, tobacco, leather. Juicy palate, supple, sweet berries, nice ripeness, super juicy style, grippy but sweet ripe tannin, a typical 2019. " Weinwisser
"Bright, shiny ruby red colour. Fragrant nose of wax, stone pine, cane sugar, then rich dark berry fruit and undergrowth, with a delicate balsamic note, complex and inviting. Harmonious entry and progression on the palate, balanced, with well-integrated tannins and great juiciness, shows beautiful Sangiovese character, good length, with a finish of citrus fruit." Falstaff
"Medium to deep ruby red with orange-coloured reflections. Sublime, concentrated cherry nose with a hint of spicy, complex oak, but in a very subtle way. Lush, tangy cherry fruit with finely milled, firm tannins that support the fruit without ever becoming dominant. Great balance." Jancis Robinson
"With intensity to the cherry, strawberry and raspberry fruit, this red is shaded with elements of tobacco, earth and wild herbs. Dusty tannins and lively acidity provide support, while a mineral component gathers steam on the salty, lingering finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino La Pieve opens with a mentholated freshness that mingles with dusty roses, crushed stones and dried cherries. It shows a silky texture contrasted by cool acidity and minerals, while the tart red fruits slowly saturate. The 2019 leaves edgy tannins on the palate as it takes on a balsamic note and traces of cloves slowly fade. La Pieve is a classic wine, but it also has a powerful structure. Bury your bottles deep." Vinous
"In the black label bottle, the La Gerla 2019 Brunello di Montalcino La Pieve reveals a 360-degree bouquet of generous fruit, dark currant, petrichor, wet slate and a mix of rosemary and grilled herb. This wine presents a classic Brunello bouquet combined with medium fruit weight and very fine, grippy tannins. Production is limited to 6,320 bottles this year." Wine Advocate
"Once again the raw material on the shields for a compact and intense Brunello. On the nose, notes of red blackberries, a hint of cinnamon and Valdostan mint, finishing on notes of wild iris. Juicy and taut sip, salty tannins, closes with a return of menthol notes." Luca Gardini

Contrada R (Rampante) Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2022
Contrada Rampante grows on the highest vineyard in Passopisciaro. The soils have a higher proportion of sand and the harvest takes place later here. Dark red cherries, flowers, mint and liquorice on the nose. Rampante is an elegant, energetic and dynamic red with clear fruit and silky tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Contrada Rampante rises steeply above 1,000 metres on pyroclastic, sandy soils. Deep dark cherry, herb and spice notes are accompanied by textural, cheek-coating tannins. Fragrant scents of lavender, wild herbs and Parma violets emerge on the mid-palate, along with a wash of fresh acidity. Intense, ferrous, saline and spicy, this is a class act." Decanter
"The 2022 Etna Rosso Contrada Rampante is intense, wafting up with all of the volcanic ash and stones that make up its soils, complicated by grilled herbs and citrus-laced blackberries. This is surprisingly juicy and energetic in feel, with a wave of vibrantly ripe red and blue fruits that swirl throughout as tactile minerals collect toward the close. It finishes with teeth-coating tannins and concentration, leaving a sensation of liquid stone and a resonance of tart cranberry toward the close. Wow, I swear I can sense the soil of the vineyard in the glass." Vinous
"Beguiling nose of red fruit and pistachios, with flowers and black pepper enhancing the aromas. The attack is a bit raw, with edgy tannins and crisp acidity. It’s medium- to full-bodied and chewy, with a balanced finish. It needs time to soften the structure, but displays a tight, crunchy youthful style that will match well with food and has the potential for aging. This high-altitude vineyard delivers greatness." “Carnasciale” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021
The Carnasciale Rosso also impressively reflects the lineage of this small winery. Elegance and minerality take centre stage, with aromas reminiscent of black cherries, plums, juniper berries and menthol. Fresh, lively and beautifully structured with impressively diverse nuances on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE,
"Cosy aromas of blueberries and herbs; has fullness and polish on the palate, finishes long and very harmonious. Convinces with its polish." Vinum
"Bright ruby red colour. Elegant spice on the nose, redcurrants, red peppers, some graphite and blood, precious wood, cold smoke, elderberries. Juicy, clear on the palate, with an exciting entry and progression, savoury, young tannins, repeatedly juicy on the finish, good foresight." Falstaff
"Impenetrable, deep ruby red colour. Deep and gentle red fruit flavours with a hint of oak on the nose. Elegant and a little lively on the palate. Light yet concentrated, cool red fruit with polished, fine, long tannins." Jancis Robinson
"The wine has dark underlying tones of blackberries and plums and shows good support and structure on the back end. With time, you get pronounced herbal or green notes, and the medium-bodied mouthfeel is infused with powdery tannins." Wine Advocate
"The 2021 Carnasciale is infused with dark berries, mocha, new leather, liquorice and rose petals. This is a particularly aromatic, restrained vintage for the Carnasciale, where the flavours are quite prominent, while the fruit is more in the background and hidden by the structure of the wine. This wine really demands aeration or, even better, a few years in the bottle. It is a very serious, deep second wine from the estate." Vinous
"Dried herbs and peppercorns reminiscent of Chinese herbs and black beans. Also dark cherries and mushrooms. I love the freshness of this wine with a steady, crisp palate of medium weight releasing fresh acidity and very refined tannins. Fresh and savoury finish at the end. Excellent length." James Suckling
"With aromas of blackcurrants, blackberries, violets, liquorice and iron, this pure red wine is racy and well-structured. Harmonious and persistent, with a long aftertaste that has a salty flavour alongside the fruit, it is simply radiant." Wine Spectator

Barolo “Pisapola” DOCG 2016
Pisapola from the vineyard of the same name in the municipality of Verduno offers a beautiful richness of texture and an impressive softness. This wine is open and honest, with an approachable style that highlights red cherries, undergrowth, wild berries and roses in a very harmonious way. The tannin is precisely measured, and on the finish, its harmony and balance are again inspiring. Not a powerhouse, it brings out the character and elegance of this great Nebbiolo site all the more amiably and authentically. SUPERIORE.DE
"Tasted blind. Medium ruby red with orange reflections. Compact and still reserved nose with a hint of Moroccan leather. Supple and generous palate that doesn't quite open up yet. Polished, chewy tannins that taste of liquorice. Long, but needs more time in the bottle to reveal its hidden depths." Jancis Robinson
"The 2016 Barolo Pisapola is the most airy and perfumed wine in this range. Crushed flowers, mint, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco and red berry fruit grace this finely meshed, medium-bodied Barolo. The 2016 is understated, stylish and very pretty." Vinous
"Enticing aromas of macerated cherry, licorice, leather and spice greet the senses, with sweet fruit, licorice, tobacco and spice flavors. Balanced and open, this is will be approachable soon, yet also has the structure to age." Wine Spectator
"The Ascheri 2016 Barolo Pisapola is the most immediate and approachable wine from Matteo Ascheri's series of single-vineyard wines, which makes perfect sense given the geologically younger Tortonian marl and Messinian limestone of the site. The Pisapola site is in Verduno and the wine shows a loose, thin texture characteristic of this subzone. The bouquet is subtle and elegant, although the overall intensity of the wine is lower compared to some of the better-known comuni or villages in the Barolo appellation. It offers a mild structure and a silky finish." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of roses, wild berries, scrub and new leather characterise the elegant nose. The savoury palate mirrors the nose, with ripe Marasca cherry, liquorice, menthol and a mineral note reminiscent of rusty nails. Taut, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity give support, while a hint of game signals the finish." Wine Enthusiast

“Perbacco” Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
Perbacco shows in the fresh bouquet first slightly leafy notes, then lots of cherry. On the palate nicely round, lots of ripe fruit, of cherries and red berries, underpinned by fine-grained tannin, long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco offers bright fruit and dried blueberries with hints of cherry wood and spice. The effect is mild but well balanced, and the wine enhances its food friendliness with fresh acidity to cut through cream or cheese." Wine Advocate
"The Langhe Nebbiolo Perbacco 2020 is another excellent entry-level wine from Vietti. In this vintage, the Perbacco is particularly fine. Sweet dried cherries, herbs, mint, crushed flowers, anise and orange peel adorn this distinctive, seductive Nebbiolo. It has enormous depth. For years, Perbacco was a very serious wine - some would say almost too serious - for its peers. Then Vietti switched to a simpler style. With the 2020, Perbacco again seems to be a wine that exceeds expectations, and exceeds them in spades. Frankly, the 2020 is more satisfying than many Barbarescos and Barolos I've tasted this year." Vinous
"This is a fresh and fruit-driven Nebbiolo with notes of raspberries and cherries, orange peel and chocolate. Also some dried flowers. Medium to full-bodied, firm and racy with ripe but tight, compact tannins that run the length of the wine. Well crafted. Long and even." James Suckling
"From the moment the cork is pulled you will be smitten with aromas of cherry, wild herbs, dried rose and anise enticing you to the glass. The wine delivers fresh and clear red-berried fruit snuggled with sweet and savory spices finishing with crunchy acidity begging you to take that next sip." Wine Enthusiast

Contrada C (Chiappemacine) Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2022
Passopisciaro's Contrada C is an exquisite red with a dark, sensual bouquet of red fruits and rose petals. Stylistically like a great Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo, with remarkable intensity on the palate right through to the lingering final. A wine that is both muscular and weightless. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium, bright ruby red colour with a brightening rim. Very delicate and elegant nose of raspberries and strawberries, a hint of rosehips, spicy paired with thyme and green tea, underlaid with leather flavours. Very clear and filigree on the palate with a delicate fruit centre and excellent tannins, with an animating flow on the long final." Falstaff
"Contrada C comes from Contrada Chiappemacine, located 550 metres above sea level in Passopisciaro. An intense and fleshy core of ripe cherries and strawberries is supported by good acidity with flecks of wild mint and fine, round tannins. Generous, yet balanced and poised, it is a flavoursome red wine with floral notes on the juicy finish." Decanter
"The 2022 Etna Rosso Contrada Chiappemacine is rosy and perfumed with hints of exotic spices that fade into notes of dried strawberries. It is supple and round, quite elegant in flavour, with crisp minerality and crunchy wild berry fruit. The wine is full of energy and has a balanced primary concentration. The 2022 finishes long, structured and fresh. There is great potential here. Contrada Chiappemacine combines volcanic soils at the higher elevations with limestone at the lower levels. This is an understated beauty." Vinous
