“TAL 1930” Cuvée Bianco (Riserva) Alto Adige DOC 2021 · 0,75l in OWC
TAL 1930 recalls the beginnings of the Santa Maddalena winery in 1930: a year of particular significance for the history of viticulture in South Tyrol and for the Bolzano winery. The contrast between mountain and valley - Alpine and Mediterranean - defines the character of this exceptional cuvée. The vineyards for the white varieties Chardonnay, Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio lie between the valley floor and the sometimes gentle, sometimes steep slopes of the famous Renon near Bolzano. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 400 to 700 metres and vary greatly in location and temperature due to the sun from the Dolomites and the sometimes strong winds of the Isarco Valley.
Grapes from the best terroirs and vines that are 30 years old and older are rigorously selected, and the knowledge of the climate and microclimate, which is the result of many years of experience, ultimately determines this powerful yet elegant cuvée. TAL 1930 is aged for 12 months in small oak barrels and then matures for 14 months in stainless steel tanks before resting in the bottle on its way to perfection. 1,897 numbered bottles were bottled.
Pale straw yellow with golden reflections, cool and seductive. Intense yet elegant notes of exotic fruits such as mango, pineapple and melon on the nose, combined with fresh hints of grapefruit and lime. Flavours of apple, pear and lychee are accompanied by hints of elderflower, jasmine and a feather-light, caramelly sweetness. A stimulating and very supple freshness on the palate, plus an almost exuberant generosity. Every sip is invigorating and persistent, with a mineral finesse and wonderful length: a South Tyrolean white wine monument! SUPERIORE.DE
"Here, ripe yellow local fruit is paired with exotic fruit such as pineapple and a touch of mango, followed by mineral notes from the porphyry soil with delicate smoky nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied and dense, with an overall cooler and more tightly woven impression. As in the previous year, the spicy, savoury notes set an important tone, as do the juicy acidity and mineral piquancy, which give the wine a well-balanced contrast." Weinwisser

Limitation of 4 articles per customer Barolo Serra DOCG 2020
Davide Rosso's Barolo Serra is bright and vivid in flavour. Lively acids and tannins give it a marvellous, translucent energy. On the palate, this enormously linear and lively Barolo shows orange peel, crushed stones, mint and cinnamon. Powerful and rich with excellent tannin management, suggesting increasing suppleness and elegance with further bottle ageing. SUPERIORE.DE
"The bouquet is spicy with aromas of forest fruits, truffles and flowers; the finely chiselled tannins and acidity in perfect balance, the finish on notes of ripe fruit, spices and leather." Vinum
"Bright, medium-dense ruby-garnet colour. Fragrant nose of preserved peach, pomegranate and raspberry, some smoke in the background. Firm, gripping tannins, underpinned by sweet melting, but still needs to come together." Falstaff
"The 2020 Barolo Serra is a nervy, taut Serralunga Barolo. White pepper, chalk, mint, dried flowers, crushed rocks and orange peel drive through a core of red-toned fruit, adding brightness and tension throughout. Readers who enjoy tense, salivating Barolos will find plenty of those qualities here. Pretty floral overtones brighten the finish nicely." Vinous
"A very pale ruby color is supported by a complex, layered nose with rhubarb, earthy strawberries, red currants, violets and cinnamon. Full of sucrosity on the palate, it shows good concentration, a medium body, refreshing acidity, fine-tuned dusty tannins and a polished finish. Cherry pit and floral aftertaste. A stylish wine with cellaring potential but also ready to drink." James Suckling

Sauvignon Bianco Rachtl comes from a small micro-location of just 0.4 hectares. It gets its fine flint and graphite nose from the porphyry soils near Unteraicha in the municipality of Völs. Very subtle on the palate with fine saline acidity, fresh fruit and a long-lasting finish. If you can call one of the 2,000 bottles of this vintage your own, you can count yourself lucky! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, pale straw yellow with a silver sheen. Intense and clear nose with notes of basil, lemon balm, green asparagus and some flint. Shows very good tension on the palate, emphasised salty components, green notes at the back, somewhat rough on the final." Falstaff
"Rich nose with notes of cooked lemons, sliced apples, savoury herbs and flowers. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture. Smooth and juicy with lively acidity. A well-made, multi-layered and complex Sauvignon Blanc." James Suckling
"A lovely, well-knit white wine, creamy but lively with vibrant acidity and a racy saline flavour, offering aromas of baked white peach, grapefruit zest, wild strawberry and fresh tarragon that spread out and linger on the long, supple finish." Wine Spectator
"Full of flavours of white peach and floral notes that pour over the juicy acidity of lemon peel and the glossy, silky texture. Wonderfully elegant and very long." Decanter

Limitation of 3 articles per customerBarolo Cerretta DOCG 2019
Barolo Cerretta is a dense, concentrated and energetic expression of Nebbiolo. Red and purple fruit flavours of cassis, dried cranberries and cherries set beautiful accents, but there is also plenty of room for the equally beautiful aromas of liquorice, campfire ash and candied orange peel that play such a deft supporting role. On the palate, it is a brilliant, polished wine with enough tannin to allow it to mature in the cellar for another 10 or 20 years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Classic, delicate colour with an orange rim. It has a youthful nose, fragrant and delicate, with some marzipan and nutty sweetness, less intense than in 2018. With a beautiful juicy style, it presents itself dense and clear on the palate, broad, very harmonious and classically tannic, less fruity than expected. Rather, it appears like a masculine Serralunga with a firm handshake and shows a dense tannic flavour on the finish, very long and balanced." Weinwisser
"Concentrated and delicately perfumed at the same time. Raspberry fruit with a hint of orange. Juicy raspberry fruit on the palate with plenty of supple acidity and beautiful, enveloping tannins that absorb the lush fruit. Complete." Jancis Robinson
"Bright ruby-garnet colour with a shiny core. Deep nose, earth and iron, delicate herbal notes, very subtle hints of raspberry, appears cool, like cold wax. Very full-bodied on the palate, with pronounced, tightly woven tannins, present, long final, juicy on candied oranges." Falstaff
"The Barolo Cerretta 2019 is soft, delicate and noble. Dried rose petals, cinnamon, blood orange, mint and dried flowers complete the layers. This effortless, multi-layered Barolo opens up beautifully with a little time in the glass. It has a wonderful resonance and plenty of class." Vinous
"Baked strawberries and pink flowers on the nose, scented fruity, floral and herbal - lifted and full of aromatic intensity. Supple and charming from the start, intensely juicy - the acidity adds a tangy, sharp note to the cherries and raspberries, while the tannins coat the mouth with a fine powder and support the red berry fruit. Round, generous, bright and really well delineated, you can feel the sinew of this wine, it has muscle but is soft and moulded. A core of savoury minerality, wet stones and olives give the wine a spicy balance and add complexity and interest. A beautiful, elegant glass of wine with nuance." Decanter

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Querciabella's Riserva, with an annual production of 10,000 bottles, is a selection of the best lots. It blends fruit from Greve, where the vineyards lie between 350 and 550 metres above sea level, with grapes from the stony high altitudes of Radda and the chalky soils of Gaiole. Tantalising aromas of spring flowers, cranberries and potting soil are accompanied by vanilla and smoke. On the palate, it is polished and pure, with a delicious, tangy acidity and sinewy tannins. As every year, one of the most refined wines of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby colour with a dark core. Elegant on the nose with notes of hibiscus, juniper berries, plus some saddle leather and undergrowth. Precise on the palate, fine tannins and fresh acidity, with pleasant pressure towards the lingering finish." Falstaff
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2020, which has just been bottled, is still a little restrained. Crushed red flowers, mint, white pepper, aniseed and orange peel give the 2020 a beautiful aromatic brilliance that matches its medium-bodied personality. We find a Riserva of linear intensity and power, more than volume. The vineyard sites are Greve, Lamole and Radda." Vinous
"The Querciabella Riserva is a selection of the estate's best parcels. The bottling of the 2020 vintage shows the generosity and grace of the vintage. Attractive pressed flowers, plums and red berries intertwine with subtle wood smoke. Garden herbs and tangerines emerge on the palate. The tannins are assertive yet supple and sweet, culminating in a chalky grip. This invigorating and bright wine is already very enticing - but there is much more to discover." Decanter
"Aromas and flavours of cherries, raspberries, rosehips and black pepper characterise this bright red wine. It is light on its feet, but a hint of nubby tannins coats the finish. A hint of bitter almond lingers on the finish, along with fruit and spice flavours. It shows good balance and length." Wine Spectator
"Crisp and vibrant red berries with dried flowers, savoury herbs, cedar and spice box. Medium-bodied with fine, powdery tannins and lively acidity. Fresh and concentrated with a linear finish. Crisp with a mineral backbone." James Suckling

“Antico Gregori” Vernaccia di Oristano Riserva DOC 1979 dolce · in gift box
Vernaccia di Oristano Antico Gregori Riserva was not only named dessert wine of the year in Gambero Rosso 2021 (1976 vintage), but was also bottled in this 1979 vintage edition. As it was possible to bottle a little more this year than in other years, the usual assemblage of the best vintages of the last century was dispensed with this year. Nonetheless, or perhaps precisely because of this, it is, as always, a breathtaking wine that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of intensity, maturity and depth! SUPERIORE.DE
"Lots of nutty undertones with dried fruit, chocolate and aged orange peel aromas and flavors. Hints of dried mushrooms and a touch of volatility, just enough to enhance its character and add some brightness and tension to the dry and refined palate. Characterful and long. Impressive condition." James Suckling
"A unique Vernaccia di Oristano from a winery that has written its own history. A refined, everlasting method that starts from a base vintage and includes lots that are a hundred years old. Apricot in syrup, almond, turmeric and ginger on the nose. The flavour is salty, fruity, spicy and restrained." Luca Gardini

“Cavalli” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
The top wine Cavalli Rosso comes from loose marl soils at an altitude of 400 metres facing south. It reveals a dark and lush fruit profile with intense blackberry, sour cherry, plum and graphite. On the palate, it has a high primary intensity and medium weight, finishing with a very crisp acidity. It is polished and deep, balanced and supple with plenty of fruity power, weight and length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sweet berries and cherries, lightly toasted oak and violets on the nose. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a fresh, linear finish. Firm and needs to open." James Suckling
"The 2019 Cavalli is a lovely Tuscan red with a rich and velvety texture that is never heavy or too dense. In fact, it offers an open-knit consistency with plenty of dark fruit, spice, grilled herb and wild rose. Oak tones of cedar and cinnamon frame that dark core. This wine is a joy to drink." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 Tenuta Degli Dei is gorgeous. Cabernet aromas drive the balance in this beautifully vibrant, structured Panzano red. Mocha, dried leaves, tobacco, espresso and incense abound. I would give this a few years to soften, as the tannins are pretty imposing at this stage." Vinous

“Crosara” Merlot Veneto IGT 2017
Crosara Breganze 2017 is a textbook Merlot: full of ripe dark fruits, blackberry pie, liquorice, chocolate, toasted oak and grilled herbs. Offering superb inner sweetness, it is both powerful and elegant, with a lush, super-soft mouthfeel. Pleasingly, a wonderfully focused mineral component saves the wine from ever being overdone. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep nose with tapenade and olives on top of the minty blackberries, tar and black spices. Very compact and dense on the palate, with very firm tannins and fresh, medium acidity. A little tight and chewy, with a hint of bitter chocolate in the finish. Give it some time. Try in 2024." James Suckling
"The 2017 Crosara is deep and sweetly scented with violet and lavender perfumes giving way to black currants. This is textural and velvety in feel, with ripe red and black berries complemented by sweet spice and vibrant acidity. It tapers off long and floral with grippy tannins framing the expression nicely, and a twang of sour citrus perfectly completes the expression. The Crosara is a varietal Merlot from partially dried grapes." Vinous

"Initially dominated by floral scents, camomile, jasmine, peach blossom. Then also quince, pear, candied pineapple, tart grapefruit. A melting palate, now clear fruit, juicy, spicy foundation, a little salty. Vertical style, focused in the centre of the mouth." Vinous
"An elegant, fine white wine with dense flavours of yellow plum, melon rind, chamomile and lemon wax. With a slightly chalky texture and mouth-watering acidity, it is long and supple, with grapefruit peel, ground pink pepper and mineral notes on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Restrained, with notes of white flowers and peach flavours, then to a palate of restrained oak, ripe melon and peach." Decanter
"The 2021 Pinot Bianco Riserva Vorberg is youthfully upright, with an airy mix of wild herbs and dried flowers that fade into young peaches and apricots. The palate is seamlessly silky and serene, almost oily, with a lively acidity to balance and a depth of ripe fruit and mineral tones to satiate. The balance is perfect, lightly tannic and full of tension with a lemony concentration that puckers the cheeks as minty herbal notes fade. Green apple notes add a crisp sensation towards the end. This fantastic interpretation of the Vorberg will thrive in a cool cellar." Vinous
"Vorberg is one of the world's great Pinot Blancs and opens with a fragrant aroma of ripe pear, green apple and a hint of almond. On the palate, it is lively with an interplay of citrus and stone fruit, carried by a refreshing acidity. The wine culminates in a structured finish that covers the whole range of cuisine." Wine Enthusiast
"Restrained apricot skins, fairly neutral yet stylish, but with a floral bouquet that opens up. The attack is full and impressively vibrant, almost electric, with filigree elegance and a silky, weighted palate. Long and polished. This is incredible. Drink now or cellar for more complexity." Barolo Mosconi DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Chiara's Barolo from the Mosconi single vineyard of the same name is powerful, muscular and full of opulence. Rich, bright ruby red colour. Rich aromas of eucalyptus, wild rosemary, plum and black cherry. Deep and powerful on the palate with beautiful spicy accents, dense tannins and a very juicy structure. For us, this Barolo belongs in the top class of the appellation, it always carries its great weight with maximum elegance and is highly authentic, completely in the style of Chiara Boschis, who has once again delivered something really great here. Please leave it in the cellar for a few more years! SUPERIORE.DE
"Stately reception on notes of pomegranate and undergrowth, spiced up with aromas of dried flowers; the tannins are full of character and well integrated, the acidity accentuated: A well-fitting wine with finesse and style." Vinum
"Rich ruby colour with a slight garnet shimmer. Opens with notes of tea, plums and raspberries, some rosewood and incense. Grippy, well-placed tannins on the palate, emphasised earthy notes, firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"Though clearly focused on its cherry, raspberry and plum fruit flavors, this red also boasts savory elements of eucalyptus and woodsy underbrush. Well-endowed, with dense, dusty tannins that shape the compact finish." Wine Spectator
"Barolo Mosconi 2020 is a powerful, flavoursome wine. Black cherry, gravel, incense, menthol and liquorice all build in this virile, taut Monforte Barolo. The 2020 has a lot to offer, it's big and powerful. Spicy herbs, earthy notes and powerful minerals permeate the powerful finish. Outstanding." Vinous
"Mosconi 2020 has something of the special ripeness of the vintage with cherry cream syrup, grenadine, watermelon sweets and a drop of pastis. The wine finishes powerfully with a balanced combination of fruit and fine oak tannins. It is very lively on the palate and the fruit is very vibrant at this young stage." Wine Advocate
"Flavours of dried oysters and intriguing wet stones with a hint of lovely peppercorn funk to the cherries, hibiscus and plums. Broad and compact on the palate with a full body and plump morello cherries in the centre. Quite extensive and long, but transparent. Even more powerful than her exciting Cannubi from this vintage." James Suckling
"A Barolo of great olfactory and flavour significance. Notes of blackcurrant, a hint of undergrowth, white pepper and citrus notes, nuances of clementine. The mouthfeel is savoury, with a spicy return and floral notes." Luca Gardini

1997 saw the birth of Bradisismo, named after the geological event that led to the formation of the Colli Berici. It is a successful symbiosis of the intense, concentrated flavour of ripe Cabernet Sauvignon cherries and the lively, spicy notes of Carmenere. With its bouquet of small dark berries, spices, pepper and chocolate, it is a wonderfully inexpensive alternative to the great Bordeaux blends or Supertuscans. On the palate, it has a velvety texture, with a mix of dark fruits, cherries, floral notes and fine tannins that glide seamlessly over the palate. Deep, long finish and very good ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby red colour with a violet core. On the nose, aromas of cassis, pickled forest fruits and green pepper, plus dark chocolate and black pepper. Fruity on the palate, present tannins, animating drinking flow, persistent and with a fine salinity in the finish." Falstaff
"The 2019 Cabernet Bradisismo opens slowly in the glass with exotic spices and crushed stones fading into blackcurrant, and is savoury and darkly floral. It's cool and racy in style, holding its power in reserve as a wave of ripe red and black fruit floods the palate with youthful concentration. Salty minerals mingle with rugged tannins on the long and structured final." Vinous
"This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Carmenere opens with deep aromas of blackberry jam, spiced plum compote and star anise. As the wine develops in the glass, notes of violet, tobacco and graphite rise. Stupendously well balanced, with integrated tannins and mouth-watering acidity that frames the generous dark-hued fruits on the palate, as sweet oak spices linger on the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"A balanced and lively blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere. Plums, blueberries, dark cherries, undergrowth, leaves, sweet tobacco and a hint of black olives. Medium to full body with fine, firm tannins. Structured and textured with dark berries and some chocolate character on the palate. Earthy with a hint of spice on the long finish. Best from 2025." “Camartina” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019 (BIO)
Camartina has always been the winery's flagship, and Palafreno has now also taken its place at eye level. Compared to Palafreno (100% Merlot), Camartina consists mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives it a robust fruit profile and more freshness and straightforwardness. Sweet floral notes, red berries, mint and chalky notes give the 2019 rising top notes, energy and a fascinating liveliness. It is always elegant and even rather restrained at first. Camartina has a firm place in Querciabella's premium portfolio, not least thanks to its impressive finesse and intensity. Everything done right! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a delicately brightening rim. Fragrant and inviting nose of savoury raspberries, light spices, some sealing wax and resin, then leather on the finish. Clear fruit on the palate, shows tightly woven tannins, polished and juicy, keeps coming back, pleasant pressure on the finish." Falstaff
"The 2019 Camartina shows dark fruit nuances with savoury tobacco and spice notes. This wine is primarily driven by the weight and concentration of the French grape, but it also shows some of the bright cherry and freshness of the Italian grape." Wine Advocate
"Fresh and imbued with flavours of blackcurrants, cherries, plums, iron and undergrowth. Wonderfully balanced, it tightens up on the finish, but shows the necessary fruit to shine through in the long aftertaste. It radiates the austerity of the vintage." Wine Spectator

"The Camartina 2019 is a dense, powerful wine. After tasting a whole range of Sangiovese, the Camartina stands out with its strong Cabernet character and the more pronounced presence of sweet oak. Dark red fruits, mocha, new leather, blood orange and sweet spices take shape in the glass." Vinous
"Perfumed and stylish with fresh thyme and redcurrants with some lead pencil. Medium-bodied with very crisp fruit and a bright and energetic finish. Lively acidity frames the wine with fine tannins. Shows brightness and vibrancy. Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. At the moment it is dense, but with bottle ageing it will develop wonderfully. From organically grown grapes." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino “Gualto” Riserva DOCG 2016
Gualto 2016 not only reflects the extremely aristocratic exceptional vintage, but is also one of the best Riservas from 2016. On the nose, very clear and straightforward after cherry, herbs and crushed rock. Full and supple on the palate, its texture is elegant and fine, the tannins only come to the fore in the second step and are excellently balanced. This wine will only reveal its true greatness in a few years, but it already offers an extremely tasty and engaging character. For a Riserva, it has a surprising amount of fruit and an elegance that makes it one of the most charming representatives of its kind. This wine (no more than 4,000 bottles were bottled) should not be missing in any well-stocked wine cellar! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red. Hearty and inviting nose of juicy cherries and blood oranges, plus fine white pepper tones, dried tomato in the finish. Very juicy and very clear on the palate, showing fine melting and lots of juice, finesse and elegance on the long final." Falstaff
"The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gualto exudes an intense aroma of medicinal cherries, wild herbs and smoky gravel. It is pure and cool, yet offers a silky texture and luxurious ripe red fruits that balance the expression well. The Riserva Gualto is lightly structured, with balsamic herbs and a subtle pull of grippy tannins. Don't expect a big, tight Riserva here; the 2016 is all about charm." Vinous
"A rather soft and juicy Brunello with cherry, chocolate, walnut and bark characters. It is tasty and fresh and has a lot to offer. Very structured and polished. Lasts for minutes. Give it two to three years to develop." James Suckling
"Bella Riserva di Camigliano, which comes from a maturation of 24 months in medium oak barrels. The nose has beautiful notes of red blueberries, marjoram and floral notes of wild violets. The mouthfeel has salty tannins, density and a fruity floral finish." Luca Gardini
"The Camigliano 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gualto shows more precision and sharper lines compared to the 2017 wines tested here. This wine also shows a more vibrant and intact fruit character with immediate aromas of cherry, wild plum and rose. Overall, this production of 3,800 bottles shows a careful, delicate approach that suits this classic, slightly cooler vintage. This wine probably offers you the best value in this series of new releases." Wine Advocate
"With juicy aromas of cherry, raspberry, leather and spices, this red wine is supple and well structured. It features good balance and a finish that reflects the fruit while adding a mineral component. Fresh and long." Wine Spectator

“Campo Lusso” Cabernet Sauvignon Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC 2020 (BIO)
The small vineyard is located 500 metres above the Galatrona Tower and offers the best conditions for growing the French Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety. Due to the limestone subsoil, this site is also known as a luxury site (campo lusso). Intense and generous bouquet of dark fruit, leather and chocolate. Complex and deep on the palate, very focussed and, with aeration, very elegant and aristocratic. A complete red that will not only delight Cabernet lovers. Only around 1,300 bottles of this spectacular wine can be produced per vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"Shimmering, dark ruby colour with pronounced violet notes. Opens with notes of tobacco, plus fine cedar wood, then lots of rich cassis notes. Crisp, dark berry fruit, lots of dark currants, fresh acidity, fine-meshed tannins, has a lot of pressure on the final. " Falstaff
"The 2020 Campo Lusso is a pretty open, aromatic wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Medium in structure with advancing aromatics, this is an intriguing Cabernet Sauvignon that should be consumed in the near term. Leather, spice, tobacco and dried cherry notes come forward." Vinous
"This new release from 2020 is beautifully full-bodied and rich, with accessible fruit flavours of blackberries and blackcurrants. The tannins are gently integrated into the full-bodied texture of the wine." Wine Advocate
"The aromas of blackcurrant and slate come through clearly, along with undertones of gravel and violets. Asphalt as well. Medium to full body with very fine, chewy tannins that linger. Straightforward and structured with vertical depth. Muscular, mountainous tannins. A pure Cabernet Sauvignon from a small production made on a small mountain in Tuscany. Try after 2026." “Troy” Chardonnay Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021
Troy is no ordinary Chardonnay. Rather, it is the archetype of a Chardonnay, as Wolfgang Klotz, managing director of what is probably the most successful winegrowers' cooperative in South Tyrol, sees it. The grapes come from two selected vineyards in Söll, near Tramin. The climate there is not only Mediterranean, but the vegetation is also characterised by rather cold downdraughts at night. Both factors guarantee optimal development of the plants and fruit. The berries are hand-picked one by one, so it is clear to any wine connoisseur that this is an absolutely prestigious project for the co-operative. It is therefore not surprising that only 3,000 bottles of this grape variety are sold in selected specialist shops and top restaurants.
Intense straw to golden yellow in colour. On the nose, tropical fruit, a hint of camomile and mint, then fine roasted notes and a subtle nutty flavour. On the palate, you can almost taste the proximity of the mountains, its clarity, freshness and intensity: exotic notes of ripe yellow fruit, then some nutty flavours and again a beguiling liveliness and minerality that ends in an equally long final. Chardonnay can be like this, chapeau! SUPERIORE.DE
"Fine toast, spice, lemon zest, pie crust and roasted pineapple aromas. Flavorful and concentrated on the palate, with a full body. This is quite textural, broad and long. A serious, substantial chardonnay that went through adequate wood cultivation for refinement." James Suckling

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Vigna Gittori” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020
The grapes for this remarkably Burgundian Gran Selezione come from the single vineyard of the same name in a 2.25-hectare Chianti Classico vineyard, which was planted in 1971 with a density of 3,400 vines per hectare and is south-facing on old terraces. Riecine has leased these plots since the 1980s, and in the 2019 debut vintage, the winery succeeded in acquiring this site, which is one of the best terroirs in the Chianti Classico region. The bottles are numbered and around 4,000 bottles and 50 magnums are bottled each year.
Spicy bouquet, delicate accents of vanilla and toasted bread, which combine with notes of cherry, strawberry and violet. Rich on the palate, with a solid structure and a long, polished final characterised by fruit, Mediterranean grass and a mineral note. Wonderful ageing potential! SUPERIORE.DE
"The second vintage of Riecine's Gran Selezione is of captivating beauty. The fragrance plays between fresh red berry fruit and fine floral notes, cranberries and blood oranges resonate on the palate, silky, brilliant, gentle and demanding in character at the same time, has a lot of freshness and great depth, fabulous elegance with a hint of candied lavender flowers on the finish. Great cinema." Weinwisser
"Brilliant, lively ruby red colour. On the nose, initially candle wax, then ripe cherries and forest fruits, reminiscent of ripe watermelon, with a second aftertaste of dark spices, some sealing wax and leather. Compact and tightly woven on the palate, polished on the tongue, very juicy and deep, with a clear fruit final." Falstaff
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2020 Vigna Gittori from the vineyards of Gaiole is aromatic, racy and very expressive. Crushed flowers, blood orange, white pepper and mint lend this medium-bodied, silky Gran Selezione a remarkable aromatic presence. The polished tannins round off the whole thing in style." Vinous
"The dense tannins of this red wine support flavours of cherry, raspberry, iron and eucalyptus. The lively acidity keeps it concentrated on the long-lasting finish. Still a little compact now, it should develop well over the next few years." Wine Spectator
"Presented in a handsome, redesigned bottle with a black wax capsule, the Riecine 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Gittori takes a different approach to the hot vintage. It offers flavours that feel anything but overripe and in fact evoke cooler elements of wild berries, peat moss, perfumed violets, flint, campfire ash and crushed white pepper. With this more restrained ripeness comes more spice and texture from oak ageing. This wine shows a beautiful elegance." Wine Advocate
"Such purity and beauty with aromas and flavours of roses, peaches, citrus and cherries. Medium-bodied, with ultra-fine tannins that run the length of the wine. Crisp and refined. It lasts for minutes. So drinkable and beautiful now, but it will improve." James Suckling
"The latest, juicy novelty of the house, from the vineyard of the same name and refined vinification and maturation. Very balsamic on the nose, black cherry under spirits, wild rosemary and hints of nutmeg. The sip is iodised, with a fruity return and spicy sensations." Luca Gardini

“Rovittello” Rosso Riserva Etna DOC 2017
After almost thirty years of experience in the vinification of the famous Etna Rosso "Rovittello", the Benanti family decided in 2015 to extend the vinification, ageing and refinement of the wine to 60 months. The result is an exclusive Riserva, produced in small quantities from vines over 100 years old from plot no. 341, which is rightly considered one of the best red wines in the region. The Nerello grapes (85% Mascalese/15% Cappuccio) come from a terraced vineyard (pre-phylloxera) in the Contrada Dafara Galluzzo in the upper area of Rovittello, part of the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia.
Pale ruby colour with light garnet tones. Fine, ethereal, floral, intense, spicy, delicate bouquet with hints of ripe fruit, young, tanned leather and cedar wood. Firm and powerful on the palate, it only opens up gradually and then gradually reveals its depth and secrets, which are characterised by impressive weightlessness and elegance. An extremely harmonious red with meditation potential - mineral and remarkably persistent! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2017 Etna Rosso Riserva Rovittello blossoms in the glass with a remarkably pretty mix of roses, lilacs and violets before giving way to dried strawberries and sweet smoke. This wine is surprisingly round and juicy, driven by lively acidity, with crisp red fruits and blueberries spilling over the austere mineral core. Hints of sour citrus combine with lavender and tart blackberries as the 2017 finishes lightly textured and refined. Even though this version of the Rovittello Riserva is slightly younger than previous vintages, it is a truly beautiful wine with the balance for a long and steady evolution." Vinous
"The nose balances tart cherries and cranberries with savory undertones of pencil lead, herbs and medicinal licorice, before the palate leans into sweeter fruit, without losing that medicinal quality. Contoured tannins and lively acid accentuate a latent, earthy smokiness." Wine Enthusiast
"Wonderfully perfumed with fresh flowers such as hibiscus as well as cherry and watermelon character. Also gravel. Medium body, firm and silky tannins with brightness and tension. Some smoke and tar on the finish. Still a little reserved. Drink it after 2025." James Suckling
"It shines with its marvellous aroma of wild strawberries, woody and delicate. In the mouth, it shows its taut, vertical structure and intense, lively and concentrated red fruits, with dusty, woody and balsamic nuances. Despite its obvious power and weight, it is light on its feet and deserves to spend some time in the bottle before opening." Decanter

Barolo Ginestra “Pajana” DOCG 2019
Pajana - most modern wine of the entire Clerico range - presents itself closed, compressed and with great potential. Rich ruby with a light garnet rim. Compact nose, showing rich notes of blackberry, dark cherries, a little cinchona bark in the background. Explodes literally on the palate, lots of ripe, present fruit, then opens up with lots of fine-meshed tannin, salty depth, rich pressure. SUPERIORE.DE
"This Barolo features eloquent strawberry, cherry, currant and rose aromas and flavors. Gains depth from earth, wild herb and mineral accents, while the harmony and aftertaste are impressive. Resonates on the finish, remaining persistent and elegant." Wine Spectator
"The Pajana vineyard, planted between 1971 and 1991, is slightly lower than Ciabot Mentin and faces southeast. This 2019 is full of restraint: dill and liquorice are to the fore, then fresh violets and cherry with citrus freshness. It's firm and extracted, with powerful, dusty tannins and a refreshing acidity that balances the warming alcohol. It will develop well." Decanter
"The Domenico Clerico 2019 Barolo Ginestra Pajana shows a more open first impression with soft black fruits. The wine shows greater impact in terms of texture with firm structure and silky tannins. It is a little more open and approachable." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of raspberries, cherries and orange peel lead into a medium to full body, with firm and very fine tannins that are chewy but fine-grained. The acidity is also strong. Try it after 2027." James Suckling
"Notes of wild plums and rhubarb on the nose, a hint of mint from the Aosta Valley, nutmeg notes on the finish. Dense, compact mouthfeel, salty-spicy tannins, finishes with a fruity-mental aftertaste." Luca Gardini

“Carla 6” Sangiovese di Toscana IGT 2019
At first glance, one would not guess that this is a Sangiovese. The Carla 6 radiates pure intensity, darkness and richness. From the fruity aromas of cherry and cassis to the floral and earthy notes of rosebuds and damp earth, this wine has it all, plus a tertiary note of natural rubber. This is pure beauty in a dark and deep wine. Carla 6 is a real hit. SUPERIORE.DE
"An adventurous nose brings lucky penny, brick wall and then grass and earth where the wind carries notes of hibiscus, cherry and cranberry. The earthy and astringent fruit elements continue on the palate, over a sweeter undercurrent. Both breadth and depth are evident." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2019 Carla 6, 100% Sangiovese, is a powerful, deep wine. Juicy dark cherry, plum, incense, chocolate, spice, leather and liquorice are all present. This is a particularly dense, concentrated Sangiovese based on textural richness more than anything else." Vinous
"Varietal Sangiovese of the highest class from Panzano from the vineyard with the number 6, opens with inviting notes of black cherries and liquorice, also tobacco; the tannin framework with a lot of structure and yet also great finesse, the mineral vein sets the tone until the invigorating final." Vinum
"Bright, radiant ruby red. In the nose initially noble spice tones, of cloves, pepper, as well as ripe forest fruits, in addition fine balsamic hints, appears very compact. Extremely polished on the palate, with a powerful, elegant course, juicy, slightly salty undertone, shows a beautiful feel and long finish, with pressure in the finish." Falstaff
"The 2019 Carla 6 is a pure Sangiovese from one of Tuscany's most talented winemakers. This medium to full-bodied expression is velvety in texture with wild fruits, dusty minerals and hints of iron ore." Wine Advocate
"Subtle and complex aromas of cherries and berries with hints of orange blossom and terracotta. Medium to full-bodied with very fine tannins and a long, lingering finish. Structure with finesse." James Suckling

“Saffredi” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
Deep, dark ruby red colour. Floral nose with lots of red, warm fruit and delicate herbal notes. Smooth and elegant on the palate with wonderful depth and complexity with notes of black cherry, herbs, violets, plums and a hint of tar and leather. Saffredi literally sneaks up on you until it fades into a very long and harmonious finish with an impressive presence and finesse. One of Italy's great wines, full of elegance! SUPERIORE.DE
"Still slightly closed. Very multi-faceted on the nose, despite the hot and dry vintage with cool accents, balsamic and herbal-spicy notes, liquorice and pencil lead, certain Bordeaux allure. Quite linear on the palate with a juicy, intense attack, still very youthful fruit, healthy, polished tannin structure, finely arranged and detailed, this will be another great Saffredi." Weinwisser
"Well structured and linear, this red frames a core of black currant and black cherry fruit with accents of toasty oak, sweet spices, tobacco and iron. Refined and harmonious, with the stuffing to develop over the next decade." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Saffredi shows a very ripe and rich interpretation of this iconic wine made by Elisabetta Geppetti and her family. The blend of fruit is the same, but 2020 actually has less oak use to allow the dark fruit to shine through. You'll find blackberries, fragrant roses, dried apricots, spices and sweet cinnamon. All in all, the wine offers immediate fruit and a vertical delivery of flavours." Wine Advocate
"A rich, juicy nose presents a handful of cherries and mulberries, along with slices of passion fruit, but a fresh spice keeps the sweetness in check. On the palate, dark chocolate adds depth to the wine, while tannins and acidity attack in tandem. Bold and confident - a precise wine." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2020 Saffredi is compelling. Deep yet quite structured, the 2020 is unlike any other Saffredi I can recall tasting because of its balance of intense dark fruit and vertical structure. Plum, blackberry, pencil shavings, lavender and spice saturate the palate." Vinous
"Grand Cru from the coast made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Multi-faceted, dynamic nose with notes of blackcurrant, undergrowth, rosemary and liquorice; full-bodied structure with perfectly structured, tightly woven tannins, balanced by plenty of freshness, also mineral salinity, long and full of esprit." Vinum
"Impressive aromas of fresh herbs from the Tuscan coast, such as sage, mint, rosemary and thyme. Also blackcurrants. Full-bodied with fine, chewy tannins that have lovely length and texture. Racy and beautiful, with plenty of subtle and refined character. There is a little more Cabernet Sauvignon in this year, which adds class to the wine. Give this wine about three or four years of bottle age." James Suckling
"Bright ruby red colour. Initially a nose of freshly baked black bread, cranberries, fine earthy notes, a hint of dark chocolate, fragrant precious wood in the aftertaste. Juicy, clear, radiant, present on the palate, with tightly woven tannins, comes back continuously juicy, great length!" Falstaff

Limitation of 6 articles per customer“Selezione Sergio Zenato” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG 2018
A wine of remarkable aromatic complexity. Amarone aficionados know how many allusions these wines are capable of evoking, and it is not difficult to discern mushrooms, forest undergrowth, truffles, Havana leaves and even wild violets in this wine's aromatic profile, as well as the usual confit cherries and plums. In the mouth, the wine is remarkably concentrated yet elegant, carrying this bundle of allusions effortlessly and seamlessly through the palate. The fine pearly tannins give it support and the concentration of fruit is so great that the acidity almost fades into the background. A dense, polished and stately wine of the highest calibre. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, dark ruby red colour with a violet core. Very complex on the nose, dark cherry and plum, leather, cocoa and a hint of black tea, underlaid with bay leaf. Very dense and elegant on the palate with a great fruity centre and a beautiful melting texture, the tannins are grippy and end on a spicy note in the long final." Falstaff
"The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Sergio Zenato 2018 takes the finesse and airy vigour of the vintage and combines it with the opulence of the Zenato style. Sweet spices, incense, sugared cherries, cloves and mint form a seductive bouquet. The character is surprisingly feminine and juicy, with a core of tart forest fruits complemented by a hint of cedar and rosy flowers that develop towards the end. The 2018 finishes savoury and long, with just a hint of fine tannins and a pleasantly acidic sensation that tickles the cheeks." Vinous
"Flavours of baked black cherries, macerated strawberries, singed orange peel and medicinal herbs are concentrated and expressive in this rich red wine, nicely tamed by fine-grained tannins and fresh plum skin acidity. Long and fragrant, with notes of dried flowers, spices, cocoa powder and more dried herbs on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Dense garnet red in colour, with a nose of walnut shells, roasted black pepper, sour cherries and ash. Soft and supple on the palate, with a full body and ripe, silky tannins balanced by zesty acidity. Beautiful fruit with a very long, nutty aftertaste. Very attractive." James Suckling
"Rich fruit flavours of black cherry jam, black berries, tobacco, mint. Rich, elegant, fine, very delicate tannins, intense and long final." Decanter
