Alessandro Mori's Wines has made Il Marroneto one of Montalcino's best wineries in just a few years. Today he runs the company together with his son Jacopo. The wines reflect their passionate, simple and outspoken character, which at first sight seems reserved and austere, but slowly opens up to reveal a harmonious synthesis of elegance and power. In 2019, he has decided to produce a selection from some of his best grapes - named after his son Jacopo - and in such a small edition that we are the only ones in the German market to be allocated a few cases. “Doran” Chardonnay Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021 · MAGNUM in gift box
The grapes for this top Chardonnay come from clayey limestone soils interspersed with angular white dolomite rock. Intense straw yellow in colour with greenish reflections. The aroma is complex, characterised by exotic fruit, white pepper and a delicate spicy note. Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento from the dream 2015 vintage is dark, rich and seductive. It smells of ginger and hints of leather and tobacco before opening up further to reveal black cherry fruit and wild berries. Although cool and supple, it has a velvety texture that strikes a wonderful balance between the tart blackberries and exotic spices within. Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2013
Radiant dark ruby with violet reflections. Very concentrated, dense aroma of dark red fruits, small berries, underpinned by a harmonious acidity with fine herbal spice. The harmonious and rather cool climate in 2013 brought us a Brunello in the glass that is fresh, elegant and yet very powerful and, above all, strong in personality and robust. Nooks and crannies are quite intentional here. Power and pressure are a matter of course with Valdicava. And the necessary maturity must be patiently endured, but is guaranteed to be rewarded. The brilliantly clear Grappa Cru Monovitigno Pignolo was produced in very limited quantities and bottled in 150 numbered decanters with a vintage label, exclusively available only at SUPERIORE.DE It is a single-varietal grappa made from marc of the rare Pignolo grape from the Nonino vineyard in Buttrio in Friuli. It is rich, elegant and velvety smooth with a pronounced wild berry flavour.
With "Cru Monovitigno Pignolo", the Noninos are taking part in the "Omaggio a Venezia" project, an initiative involving prestigious Italian brand producers such as Alessi, Loro Piana, Missoni, Tod's, Trussardi and others. "Omaggio a Venezia" aims to help the city fathers of Venice to preserve the artistic and architectural heritage, this unique and unmistakable style of Venice.
Part of the proceeds from the sale will be given to the city of Venice for the restoration of the 17th century "Camerino degli Stucchi" in the Ca'Rezzonico Museum. SUPERIORE.DE

Brunello di Montalcino “Magistra” DOCG 2019
The Magistra Brunello was vinified for the second time in 2019. Produced in a small edition of just over 1,000 bottles, it is the estate's new flagship wine. It is an extremely rigorous selection of the best grapes from the small Magistra vineyard, which is located south of Montalcino at around 400 metres above sea level. The vines are surrounded by a holm oak forest, which benefits from exposure with night-time ventilation from the Orcia Valley. This favours the development of the aromas, which are noticeable in the intense Sangiovese bouquet of crushed sour cherries, spiced blood oranges, minty herbs and a hint of sweet smoke. Silky yet lively on the palate, driven by a lively acidity that effortlessly carries the mineral fruit of the red berries across the palate together with the polished tannins. A gem of a wine! "The second vintage of this bottling, Magistra, is a selection made in the vineyard in collaboration with the estate's longstanding Oenologist, Lorenzo Scotto. Barbaresco “Pajoré" DOCG 2021
The Sottimano winery has five vineyard sites, with the Pajoré site near Treiso having the poorest soil of all. These wines are therefore more elegant and mature. Pajoré is a super-classic, explosive wine, endowed with enormous depth and character. Although it has plenty of breadth and texture, it remains light on its feet. Lavender, mint, liquorice and purple berry fruits are beguiling and wonderfully lively in the glass. Pajorè is a spicy, elegant and sweet Nebbiolo that is fine yet covers the mouth well - and we are always impressed by its lovely savoury mouthfeel. SUPERIORE.DE

“Testamatta” Rosso Toscana IGT 2022
The grapes for Testamatta are selected and sourced from the winery's 6 best vineyards: Vincigliata, Londa, Lamole, Montefili and Siena. Each vineyard, which is divided into plots, is harvested up to 8 times to ensure that all the grapes are harvested at the perfect point of ripeness. These five vineyards (up to 80 years old) are located in different areas of Tuscany: Lamole and Montefili in the heart of Chianti Classico at 600 and 400 metres above sea level, Vincigliata near Florence at 280 metres above sea level, Londa north of Florence towards the Rufina Valley and Siena, in the south of Tuscany, at 250 metres above sea level.
Dark red in colour with black edges and a bright red hue. The nose is perfumed and smells of rose petals, which fade into ripe red to dried cherries and redcurrants. This is accompanied by flavours of earth, light tobacco, black pepper, fresh herbs and spicy cedar wood. Seemingly weightless on the palate, it is then flooded with a mixture of red to dark cherry and redcurrant flavours, complemented by an appealing spiciness. The complexity is complemented by spicy cedar wood notes, forest floor and dried herbs. Testamatta is characterised by a beautiful freshness with muscular but finely drawn tannins that lead into a powerful yet refined finish. SUPERIORE.DE

The tannins are polished without being too polite, wrapping around a core of dense blackberry. Despite its fruit concentration, this remains midweight and tangy, with a mineral, savoury drive. “Keir” Syrah Toscana IGT 2018
Here comes the second vintage of Tua Rita's new wine from the Alta Maremma. Just 2,500 bottles of this 100% Syrah will be bottled, aged (on the skins) for half a year in amphorae, then filtered and matured in small French oak barrels.
Radiant ruby red. On the nose, a seductive mix of cherry with hints of chocolate, herbs and a subtle liquorice note. On the palate, cherry again, complemented by a kaleidoscope of chocolate, coffee and a subtle juniper note. A fabulous acid structure and fine-grained tannins guide the precisely composed wine into a furious final. Keir complements the winery's high-class portfolio in a very independent and emphatic way. "The 2018 Keir very much stands out in this set of new releases from Tua Rita. A passion project and something of an intellectual challenge accepted mutually by Stefano Frascolla and Luca D'Attoma, this is Syrah fermented in Tuscan amphorae with six months of skin contact. This vintage is especially delicate and pure, and one important reason for this is the growing season that was extended by 15 days in this 2018 vintage. That extra time allowed the fruit to mature slowly according to its own time table. This is a luxury that is appreciated by Syrah in particular. The wine emerges with delicate, almost fragile aromas of wild rose, wet earth, violets and crushed black pepper. "Tenuta Nuova comes from the Le Cetine vineyard of Casanova di Neri in the south of Montalcino. With a full southern exposure from east to west, it is a sun-drenched, Mediterranean expression of Brunello. The 2017 takes a little persuasion at first, but then cherry bark, cinnamon, liquorice root and gardenia rise from the glass. The grainy tannins on the attack slowly dissolve into a fine, dusty powder, revealing smooth, round blackcurrants. Citrusy acidity keeps it lively, while notes of dark chocolate and mint linger."
