“Il Nocio dei Boscarelli” Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2020
Boscarelli's Il Nocio, a Nobile di Montepulciano from a single vineyard, impressively demonstrates the true essence of the Sangiovese grape and has also been one of the region's quality leaders for years.
Reveals a racy and subtle nose that shows minerals and dusty red berries and strawberries, along with spices, dried flowers and a hint of orange peel. It is dry, elegant and beautifully tart with firm, stony tannins that round out the palate and give a taut and chalky feel with a linear impression. A pure and transparent expression of Sangiovese that will improve with time. Drinkable now, but better from 2026. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a brightening rim. Fragrant, floral nose of violets and lavender, then cherries and undergrowth, medium expression overall. On the palate with a radiant fan, juicy, clear, with tightly woven tannins and great juiciness, comes back in several layers, long." Falstaff
"Firmly in the savory camp, this red evokes balsamic notes of tomato leaf, juniper and eucalyptus, along with strawberry and cherry fruit. Earth, iron and tobacco elements chime in as this plays out on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Crushed blackberries come together with hints of smoke, crushed stone and sage as the 2020 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Il Nocio emerges from the glass. It's silken in feel with a lifted persona as a wave of liquid violet flowers saturates and ripe black cherry tones echo throughout. The 2020 leaves a web of fine-grained tannins and perfumed florals to resonate, finishing long and classically dry." Vinous
"The aromas and flavors of this wine are very pretty, with cherries, orange peel and flowers following through to a medium body with crunchy fruit and a crisp finish. Fine tannins. One of the best Vino Nobiles I have had in a long time." James Suckling

“Monpra” Rosso Langhe DOC 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Classic Rosso from the Langhe, made from 50% Nebbiolo and 50% Barbera grapes from the Ginestra and Bussia districts. Inviting, exuberant Barbera-influenced bouquet of raspberry jam, dark fruit, leather, tar and tobacco. Deep, plump and very inviting, drinky and opulent on the palate. Very accessible even at a young age. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Langhe Rosso Monprà 2020 is a blend of Barbera from old vines (planted in 1971) and Nebbiolo from Bussia Sottana. Juicy and expressive, with plenty of Nebbiolo nerve, the Monprà delivers the goods. Juicy black cherry, gravel, spices, menthol, liquorice, dried flowers and a hint of French oak all come together in this wine. The 2020 is a particularly beautiful edition of the Monprà." Vinous
"The Langhe Rosso Monprà 2020 shows lovely richness and concentration in this hot vintage with dried cherry, blackberry, spice and liquorice (both red and black). The flavours are up front, but the wine shows a streamlined mouthfeel to close gently." Wine Advocate

“Keir” Syrah Toscana IGT 2019
Here comes the third vintage of Stefano Frascolla's heart project from the Alta Maremma. Just 2,500 bottles of this 100% Syrah are bottled, aged (on the skins) for half a year in amphorae, then filtered and matured in small French oak barrels.
Radiant ruby red. On the nose, a seductive mix of cherry with hints of chocolate, herbs and a subtle liquorice note. On the palate, cherry again, complemented by a kaleidoscope of chocolate, coffee and a subtle juniper note. A fabulous acid structure and fine-grained tannins guide the precisely composed wine into a furious final. Keir complements the winery's high-class portfolio in a very independent and emphatic way. Great! SUPERIORE.DE
"Shiny ruby-violet with a little light rim. Opens with fine spicy notes, pepper and ivy, then some cherry, blood orange. On the palate lots of grippy, hearty tannin, dark berries, some tobacco, a little brittle on the final." Falstaff
"The green-tobacco and pepper character is very intense with blackberry and black-cherry undertones. Full-bodied and layered with soft tannins that are creamy and very pretty. A full yet soft-textured palate. Succulent and delicious." James Suckling
"A pure expression of Syrah that spends six months in amphorae, the Tua Rita 2019 Keir Rosso is a gregarious and super fun wine that is a joy to drink and a great conversation starter thanks to the crafty approach used in its winemaking. Long skin maceration times give the wine extra intensity. The tightly pored surface of the clay amphorae (that are fired in kilns at very hot temperatures and long durations) means that the wine gets less oxygen during winemaking. This contributes to its delicate and elegant flavors and ultimately to the promising longevity of this vintage. Keir is not as full-bodied as other Tuscan Syrahs, but the wine shows terrific purity and focus instead. The bouquet offers punchy black fruit, plum, tea leaf and savory tobacco." Wine Advocate
"2019 is for Stefano Frascolla an exceptional vintage - one of the best vintages of the last two decades. Bright magenta in colour with an exuberant nose of vivid sweet blackcurrant, cream and spice, this has youthful raspberry, white pepper and flint flavours mixed with concentrated yet vibrant fruit. Impossible to resist, with a lovely weightless texture and harmony, it dances seamlessly across the palate and disappears with incredible lightness but lingering flavours. Syrah meets Burgundy!" “Kappa Essenza” Rosso Toscana IGT 2016
Deep dark and impenetrable ruby red. Complex bouquet with endless layers of dark fruit and aromas, complex on the palate, tightly woven and with a long, silky mouthfeel. Very focused and juicy Cabernet Franc in Riserva quality from one of the most profound and beautiful vintages of the new millennium so far. SUPERIORE.DE
"This is Fattoria Kappa's top Cabernet Franc wine. The Essenza 2016 is packaged in a heavy glass bottle with a black wax capsule. It shows dark fruits, spices and rich saturation with a particularly full-bodied style. With this powerful bottle, you should fire up the grill to grill steak or pork chops." Wine Advocate
"Sparkling ruby with a slightly lightening rim. Dense and memorable nose, full of dark currant and pickled cherries, lots of tobacco in the background. Juicy on the palate, well-defined fruit, grippy tannin in many layers, firm pressure on the final." Falstaff

Chardonnay Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
Bright golden colour, full bouquet with explosive aromas of quince, honey, wax, granite, blood orange, vanilla, white chocolate and straw. Initial notes of roasted cashew and almond on the palate, followed by fruit such as white peach, pear and citrus. Exciting and very multi-faceted. SUPERIORE.DE
"Extremely balanced nose of exotic fruits, flanked by bold citrus notes, Mediterranean flowers and spices; the attack is supple, the acidity perfectly integrated and yet a source of finesse and freshness, finishes long and extremely multi-faceted on fruit and balsamic flavours. Very successful." Vinum
"This is a little more subtle than past bottlings and shows freshness and brightness with some crushed stones, dried apples, lemon blossoms and honeysuckle. Medium-bodied with fresh, tangy undertones of sliced pears and honey. Crisp finish. Some stones and just a hint of phenolics at the end. Complex. Best yet?" James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
Rose petals, mint, cinnamon, dark sweet cherries and smoke rise from the glass in a translucent, wiry Brunello that is built on energy, power and opulence. Length and fruit take centre stage here and, together with a clearly defined tannin structure, Leopoldo Franceschi's team has produced a wine in a very classic vintage that will really reveal itself over the next few years. As always, it is one of our favourites, and its still outstanding value is also great fun! SUPERIORE.DE
"A restrained mix of licorice and graphite, bright red cherries and toasted notes. Firm tannins on the medium- to full-bodied palate with refreshing acidity. Chewy style overall." James Suckling
"Showing very nice results, with greater accessibility in this vintage, the Il Poggione 2020 Brunello di Montalcino has dark fruit aromas with blackcurrant followed by something spicy or herbal. I am reminded of licorice root, exotic spice, pressed rose and fragrant tea leaf. It finishes smoothly with silky tannins and an open-knit approach. This vintage is almost ready to drink, and you get elegant complexity at the same time." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is explosive, bright and punchy at first, evolving from cranberry to cherry with dusty sage, spiced blood orange and Tuscan dust. The is pure elegance, texturally deep and nearly velvety in feel with a core of tart wild berries that add contrast as a balsamic tinge emerges along with fine-grained tannins toward the close. It finishes long, structured and staining, leaving a flinty sensation and primary core of fruit that drenches the palate as violet inner florals and hints of lavender abound. The 2020 is seamless from start to finish and, while more approachable than a typical vintage of Il Poggione, is balanced for an extended maturation." Vinous

“Contrada Zottorinoto” Rosso Riserva Etna DOC 2019
Only around 2,000 bottles of this noble Riserva are filled each year. With a rich aroma of black berries, balsamic nuances and spices as well as an expansive flavour - full and clear - this great wine perfectly combines finesse, elegance and softness. SUPERIORE.DE
"In the nose with wild herbal aromas and earthy-mineral notes, undergrowth, walnuts, ash and warm earth. Full-bodied in the mouth with a well-defined body, beautiful substance with savoury nuances, quite long with a salty final." Weinwisser
"This is a wild and earthy red wine with notes of watermelon, walnuts, ash, minerals and earth. It has a medium body and nice substance. Long, savoury and spicy." James Suckling
"The 2019 Etna Rosso Zottorinoto is dark, floral and earthy in the glass, with a mix of grilled herbs, crushed rocks and blackberries making up its bouquet. It shows silky textures and masses of mineral red and black fruits. Hints of cocoa emerge towards the end. It finishes with a layer of fine tannins and a hint of primary concentration, balanced by a touch of residual acidity that maintains a fantastic freshness despite its youthful structure." Vinous
"Slightly creamy and with a silky texture, it combines balsamic herbal touches with red and blue berries, ending on a twist of orange peel. Undergoing extended ageing this Riserva from contrada Zottorinoto in Castiglione di Sicilia is bigger and also has higher perceived acidity compared to Feudo di Mezzo. Sapid, saline and intense, it's a beautifully crafted wine." Decanter

“Asinone” Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG 2021 (BIO) · MAGNUM
Its dense, intense colour has a lush bouquet, whose fruity hints of blackberries, sour cherries and blueberries are given an elegant touch by the delicate, very subtle wood spice. In the rich, firm flavour, the smooth tannin is well fused with the structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Warm-scented nose with a potpourri of berry fruit and fine spice, floral aromas and orange zest; still very youthful in the mouth with accentuated acidity and racy, albeit tightly woven tannins, the finish becomes increasingly opulent with aeration. Excellently made, should definitely mature." Vinum
"The nose is floral and earthy, with aromas of rosewater, herbs, damp earth and black cherries, as well as hints of cola and fresh pepper. On the palate, tart blackberries accentuate a persistent interplay between black cherry, pepper and herbal notes. Taut tannins reinforce a latent warmth." Wine Enthusiast
"Fresh and balanced, this red wine displays flavours of cherries, raspberries, flowers, minerals and tobacco. It offers depth and a supple texture that is balanced by a base of grippy tannins. Overall elegant, with fine length." Wine Spectator
"A flavoursome, opulent Vino Nobile with roasted sesame seeds, spices, ripe plums and citrus fruits. A firm frame of tannins envelops the citrus fruit. Firm, long and still a little chewy. Needs at least another year to develop." James Suckling
"The 2021 Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone is dark, floral and intense. It smells of crushed blackberries and cherries, accompanied by a hint of ash stone. A hint of sage gives it a lovely flavour. The palate is cool and supple, with an energetic mix of tart wild berries and complementary purple floral tones. The 2021 is grippy and pleasantly chewy, finishing with edgy tannins and a hint of residual acidity that leaves you wanting more. I like the liveliness of this wine." Vinous

Limitation of 1 articles per customerBrunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2019
Altesinos Riserva is fermented in steel tanks and matures for three years in Slavonian oak barrels. The top 2019 vintage has produced generous wines that are multi-layered and rich, but also tight at their core. This wine exemplifies this, bringing plenty of tart Sangiovese fruit and freshness. Also shows an impressive richness of flavours with dried cherries, liquorice, pressed violets, balsamic herbs and dusty limestone. The palate is beautifully polished and slightly fleshy, spreading out beautifully as it progresses, compact and harmonious, salty on the impressive final, as we really only notice with Casanova di Neri. SUPERIORE.DE
"This Riserva favours the estate’s most southerly vineyards in 2019, with the majority of lots coming from the Pianezzine site near Sant’Angelo in Colle. It is a rousing interplay of dark earthy nuance – wet forest floor, leather and mushroom – with sweet, luscious fruits. Here, wild strawberry and dark plum provide the backdrop. The tannins are silky and polished yet build with intensity and grip in this full-bodied offering. It culminates with a suggestion of iron before shutting down. Cellaring is advised." Decanter
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is dark and brooding, with hints of black tea leaves, crushed rocks and smoke before giving way to the scent of dried black cherry. It balances silken textures with a pure mix of ripe red and black fruits as cooling acidity maintains a lovely balance. Aromas of citrus-laced blackberries mix with sage and nuances of licorice. This finishes long and potent yet still quite fresh." Vinous
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva shows more density and overall fruit weight. The wine also reveals thick textural heft and, ultimately, more dark fruit sweetness. It gives us a much bigger and richer interpretation of Sangiovese." Wine Advocate
"A very classic and telltale Montalcino. The subtle nose shows smoky woodland and forest-floor aromas allied to dried cherries and raspberries, dried roses and earthy minerality. The full-bodied palate has velvety tannins, a chalky finish, refreshing acidity and a tight, eminently floral finish. Drinkable now but best from 2028 or 2029." James Suckling

“Castello Fonterutoli” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castellina DOCG 2021 · MAGNUM in OWC
Since summer 2023, Chianti Classico producers have been allowed to include the eleven additional geographical indications (UGA = unità geografiche aggiuntive) introduced in 2021 on the labels of the top Gran Selezione category. For Chianti Classico winegrowers, it is a logical step to produce wines that reflect the area in which they were produced as authentically as possible. And customers can thus deepen their knowledge of the relationship between the wines and their region of origin - a real added value.
Historically, the vineyards of Castello di Fonterutoli are located in the areas of three neighbouring municipalities of Chianti Classico: Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga and Radda in Chianti. With the 2017 vintage, the Mazzei family vinified all three large vineyards separately as Chianti Classico Gran Selezione for the first time in order to recognise the diversity of the terroir: Castello di Fonterutoli, Vicoregio 36 and Badiola.
Castello di Fonterutoli comes from 11 different plots at an altitude of 420-510 metres around the hamlet of Fonterutoli in Castellina in Chianti. It is both the "Château" and the oldest cru of the estate and was first produced in 1995 as the predecessor to today's Gran Selezione. Rich colour and a clear aroma of blackberries, cherries, violets and flowers, with a hint of nougat. This full-bodied Castello Fonterutoli impresses with its beguiling extract sweetness and polished tannins. The intense and concentrated flavour enchants the senses. The long final is full of elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Still somewhat restrained berry aromas, notes of tobacco and spices; full-bodied on the palate with a perfectly balanced acid-tannin structure and plenty of character, which manifests itself in the finish in notes of blackcurrants and undergrowth." Vinum
"Intense, sparkling ruby colour with purple reflections. Multi-layered bouquet with notes of juicy cherry, pepper, coffee and ebony, exciting. Very juicy and with lush fruit on the palate, with well-integrated tannins and invigorating acidity through to the long finish." Falstaff
"Youthful, concentrated ruby red colour. Balsamic nose with a minty edge and a hint of leather. Juicy, almost racy cherry fruit on the palate, followed by a lot of grainy tannins. This wine definitely needs and deserves more time." Jancis Robinson
"Really beautiful aromas of violets, berries, sandalwood and cherries. It's medium-bodied with round and polished tannins that run the length of the wine, showing lovely finesse and concentration. Juicy on the finish. It needs two or three years to open up and show what it is made of." James Suckling
"The Mazzei 2021 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castellina Castello Fonterutoli is made from vines closest to the winery's headquarters in Castellina. It stands somewhere between the broad, warm appeal of Castelnuovo Berardenga and the more acidic wines from Radda. This happy medium is characterised by a medium-weight texture and very bright cherry flavours that are particularly easy to detect. A hint of crushed stone frames the generous fruit in this version." “Masari” Rosso Veneto Valle d’Agno IGT 2018 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
Masari's flagship presents itself in a deep, dense garnet red colour. Ripe blackberry and cassis on the nose, underpinned by bitter cocoa and ripe cherries, light leather spice and liquorice. Full and balanced on the palate, slowly but complexly spreads over the tongue, then convinces with beautiful and lasting pressure, long, salty and simply wonderful. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright, very rich ruby red colour. The nose initially smells of marzipan and precious wood, then opens up to fine wild berry fruit, blackberry and milk chocolate. On the palate with a profound depth and a great stony feel, tight tannins, fine salinity and clear, floral, sweet fruit, lingers for a long time, still a little grippy on the finish." Falstaff
"A Bordeaux-inspired blend with a detailed tannic kit, conferring depth and a je ne sais quoi seriousness, while evincing structural authority to a wave of tapenade, anise, cassis, dried sage and alpine herb. The oak is evident, but a mere adjunct rather than a yelp. A very fine example, possibly worth an additional point with the complexity that time will surely imbue." James Suckling

The winery's flagship white wine is called Studio di Bianco and is a blend of 40% Friulano, 35% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Riesling, aged for 10 months in large barrels. It is an exceptional white wine, certainly one of the best in Italy, with a unique energy and tension reflected in a complex bouquet. A cornucopia of floral aromas, stone fruit, peach cake, honey and vanilla cream explode in the glass. The medium-bodied texture of the wine finishes smooth and very defined, revealing a unique complexity and elegance. The total production per vintage is just 1,900 bottles and anyone who has had this wine in their glass at least once in their life should consider themselves lucky. SUPERIORE.DE

Deep and impenetrable. Tor di Lupo shows opulent fruit with dried plums and prunes. It is a full-bodied and dense red wine that goes best with succulent meats such as lamb or steak. There is a hint of bitter almond on the long, generous finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense, fruity bouquet with blue and black berries, including very ripe red fruit. On the palate, it has a velvety strength and texture, quite melting without appearing fat, more like an athlete dressed in velvet." Weinwisser
"Deep dark, almost black purple colour. Somewhat closed on the nose with earthy notes and hints of tar and blackberries. More accessible in the mouth with savoury fruit, dark chocolate, juicy, long and persistent on the finish." Falstaff
"Powerful, dense purple colour. Dark chocolate, elderberry juice, blackberry on the nose. Surprisingly lively acidity, keeps the tension in the mouth, plus floral notes, blue violets. The tannin is highly elegant, powerful, not at all angular. Finishes with spicy notes, especially tobacco." Vinum
"Elegant and aromatic, with notes of ripe red berries and spices that lead to black plums and sultanas on the palate." Decanter

“Franchetti” Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2020
Franchetti Rosso is Passopisciaro's flagship wine and a stunningly perfect wine. The grapes come from 1000-metre-high northern Etna vineyard sites, where the soils are ash and pumice. Franchetti is a ripe, exotic wine that envelops the palate with dark fruit. Refined tannins support the fruit, while an intense inner sweetness adds elegance and finesse. A thoroughly outstanding drop. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Franchetti is a unique wine that perfectly interprets the high volcanic soils. Power, structure and then such a straightforward concentration of aromas: deep scent of black cherries, plums, orange zest and mint. Then comes a distinct minerality. Dark chocolate and blueberry show on the palate, spiced with fresh tarragon. A great wine to know from Etna." Vinum
"The Vini Franchetti 2020 Franchetti is very spicy and savory with inky black fruit aromas. You feel the 15.5% alcohol content over the wine's thick, full-bodied texture." Wine Advocate
"Dark ruby red with a softly lightening rim. In the nose of ripe heart cherries, paired with cold smoke, mulberries as well as freshly roasted coffee and a hint of Ras-el-Hanout. Extremely polished and compact on the palate, opens to juicy tannin, punchy and with plenty of finesse, keeps coming back, dense, long and balanced." Falstaff
"The 2020 Franchetti is beautiful, jumping out of the glass, spicy and intense, showing off its Cesanese aromas with a mix of blackberries, lavender, sage, white pepper and smoke that make it impossible to ignore. This wine is very structured, almost creamy yet tangy, with medium body and a salty core of minerality that balances the masses of ripe dark fruit and sweet herbal notes. The length is amazing, as is the harmony within. It finishes structured yet supple, with violet flowers and nuances of plum jam that linger. This wine is already very appealing, elegance personified, but the best is surely yet to come." Vinous

“Cresasso” Corvina Veronese IGT 2017 · MAGNUM in OWC
Cresasso - an exquisite, pure Corvina. Intense aromas of dark fruit, rose petals and spices. Rich, concentrated fruit on the palate, silky, with a remarkable inner sweetness. Distinctive and sensual. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dried cherry, dried blueberries and spices with a smoky and meaty character, powerful with an intense finish and very pure." Decanter
"This wine showcases why Corvina is at the heart of so many red wines from the Veneto. It's densely concentrated, with aromas of black cherry and baked plums covered in sweet baking spices from the oak the wine is aged in. The wine is polished and elegant on the palate, with tannins that are firm but will soften with some time. The primary fruit will give way to more savory notes that are only just peeking their heads out currently." Wine Enthusiast
"This wine is full of spicy red and black fruits, almost exotic, with notes of fresh dates, passion fruit, raspberries and a hint of chocolate. On the palate, it is full-bodied with an ever more vibrant fruit that clings to the very fine and slightly firm tannins, resulting in a flawless finish with plenty of flavour and good length." James Suckling
"The 2017 Corvina Cresasso is aromatically stunning, with a captivating blend of raspberry and cherry sauce accompanied by a pinch of sweet spice and cocoa. This model of elegance rolls on silky waves of texture over a core of vibrant acidity, while masses of mineral-tinged red and blue fruits saturate the senses. The 2017 finishes structured and grippy with a primary concentration that lingers as tart red plums and rosy flowers slowly fade away. This single-varietal Corvina is fantastic, but it will need cellaring to show its best side." Vinous

“Keir” Syrah Toscana IGT 2022
Just 2,500 bottles of this 100% Syrah are bottled, aged (on the skins) for six months in amphorae, then filtered and matured in small French oak barrels.
Brilliant ruby red colour. On the nose, a seductive blend of cherry with hints of chocolate, herbs and a fine liquorice note. Cherry again on the palate, complemented by a kaleidoscope of chocolate, coffee and a subtle juniper note. A fabulous acidity structure and fine-grained tannins guide this precisely composed wine to a furious final. Keir complements the winery's high-class portfolio in a very independent and emphatic way. Magnificent! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, powerful ruby colour with a violet rim. Smells of wild strawberries and candy floss, some blackberry, followed by spicy notes of rosemary and thyme. Plump and juicy fruit on the palate, very precise and clear, thrilling on the finish with very well-placed tannins and firm pressure." Falstaff
"A juicy and chocolatey red with cloves, black pepper and hints of terra cotta. It’s medium-bodied with round and crunchy fruit and a light hazelnut and clove finish. Just a hint of bitter chocolate." James Suckling

“Palazzo Lana Extrême” Franciacorta Riserva DOCG 2013 extra brut
Palazzo Lana Extrême Riserva is a masterpiece from a great vintage. The pure Pinot Nero is characterised by a complex bouquet of fresh yeast, pear and lemongrass. Bright fruit on the palate, firm, with lively acidity and wonderfully consistent perlage. SUPERIORE.DE
"A wine of balance and finesse. Bright and fresh aromas of mixed apples, lemon blossom and crushed chalk lift from the glass. Its solid structure and taut palate are complemented by a well-integrated richness, the shows flavors of spiced pear compote in a fresh brioche with hints of roasted nuts and honey. Finishing with a bright pop of fresh acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"There's a leesy edge to the expressive flavors of baked pear and persimmon, roasted hazelnut, honeycomb and dried lemon thyme in this focused sparkler. A spine of deftly honed acidity and an underpinning of minerally salt, oyster shell and smoke notes form a well-defined frame for the rich profile, with accents of ground ginger and white pepper that play on the lasting finish." Wine Spectator
"Telltale Franciacorta with restrained stone fruits, breakfast pastries, cotton candy and lemons. Large yet smooth bubbles with lean body, crisp acidity and great tension. Fiercely fresh and tight in the finish, the slight bitterness adding an extra dimension." James Suckling
"The 2013 Riserva Palazzo Lana Extrême blends enriching notes of raw almond and confectionary spice with stone dust, yellow apples and hints of cardamom. Pure seduction, it is soothingly round with silken bubbles contrasted by a core of ripe orchard fruits and a twang of candied citrus. It finishes long yet remarkably fresh, leaving nuances of lemon curd and minty herbs to resonate above a tactile tinge of saline minerality. This stunning Palazzo Lana Extrême aims to please and has the balance to mature beautifully in the cellar." Vinous

Brunello di Montalcino “Vecchie Vigne” DOCG 2019
Vecchie Vigne by Siro Pacenti is still one of the most modern wines to emerge from this sun-drenched appellation in southern Tuscany. The grapes come from old vines that are between 38 and 53 years old. You can immediately taste the great 2019 vintage and the richness and suppleness of its dark fruit and lush blackberry flavours. Vecchie Vigne offers that certain hint of exotic spices, savoury tobacco and even notes of talcum powder or buttered popcorn, which come from the oak - it is aged for 24 months in French barriques - which does it a world of good and makes it unmistakable. All the attributes of this exceptional wine are clearly pronounced and unmistakably convincing, all of which contribute to a creamy and infinitely long-lasting mouthfeel and make this wine one of the best of the vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich ruby colour with a fine garnet rim. Initially shows slightly earthy notes on the nose, some rust, then lots of black cherry and blackberry, fine spice. Full-bodied and firm on the palate, shows plenty of grippy tannins, juicy berry fruit, then slightly drying on the final, still needs ageing." Falstaff
"The Vecchie Vigne combines fruit from Siro Pacenti's 35+ year old vineyards in the northern and southern quadrants of Montalcino and shows even greater intensity and power than the Pelagrilli bottling, but also more nuance and sophistication. With its deep ruby red colour, it offers an intriguing blend of grilled herbs, toasted cedar, incense and ferrous minerals. On the palate, it is highly concentrated and full in its purity of black fruits accompanied by sweet herbs and spices. The powerful, well-padded tannins are polished and slowly dissolve into a tactile powderiness on the long liquorice finish." Decanter
"Vines over 35 years old, a Brunello of pleasant finesse. Notes of cranberry, rhubarb and peony on the nose, with hints of cinnamon. The palate reveals salty tannins, recurring notes of small fruits and undergrowth. Finishes with a hint of sweet spices." Luca Gardini
"The Brunello di Montalcino Vecchie Vigne 2019 is intense. It smells of rosemary and spiced blood oranges before developing into dried black cherries and a hint of incense. On the palate, it flows with a velvety texture complicated by tactile mineral tones and savoury acidity, while cool red and black fruits slowly saturate. A web of fine-grained tannins envelops the senses as the 2019 finishes dramatically long and colourful, leaving traces of cedar spice and inner rose that linger on and on. This is a formidable VecchieVigne that will pay dividends in the cellar." Vinous
"A darker expression of the vintage, showing aromas and flavours of black cherries, blackberries, iron, tar and tobacco. Dense and muscular, but with lively acidity that keeps it long and concentrated. The tannins are resonant and the lasting impression is one of sweet fruit." Wine Spectator
"The Siro Pacenti 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Vecchie Vigne has a dark appearance and is made from old vines. It has notes of baked blackberry pie crust, raspberry jam, barbecue smoke, cigar box and every other fairly extreme aromatic description you can apply to a heavily barrel-aged red wine. It is certainly exaggerated, especially at this young age, but experience teaches us that Siro Pacenti's wines need time, a lot of time, before all the elements mesh. The alcohol content is 15% and the tannins are a real hammer." Wine Advocate
"Black cherries, lavender, black mushrooms, pencil and violets on the nose. Full-bodied with a powerful and polished tannin structure that lasts until the end. Pure, silky texture. Fascinating aftertaste of ripe fruit that is nevertheless fresh and taut. Also some orange peel. Wonderful on the finish. So well elaborated and pointed. This wine still needs three to five years to develop, but it is already very impressive." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
The 2020 edition of Col d'Orcia's Brunello di Montalcino wows with its brilliant ruby red colour in the glass and beguiles the nose with a cornucopia of crushed black cherries with hints of brown spice and sage - finesse complemented by notes of white smoke, cedar and dried roses. On the palate, it is seductive and supple; sweet red fruits are contrasted by a fresh and lively acidity and savoury spice, and its finely knit tannins rise slowly towards the end. The finish is long, structured and very balanced with a lingering aftertaste of tart wild berries, a hint of red liquorice and pretty flowers. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Spicy, brooding and a little rich on the nose with mineral notes. Lush but elegant cherry fruit with just the right dose of marvellous acidity and sandy tannins throughout. It can be approached, but ideally needs more age." Jancis Robinson
"The Brunello di Montalcino 2020 opens slowly with a blend of black cherry and minty herbal scents underscored by a hint of blood orange. It displays a silky texture and airy feel, with tart wild berry flavours and mineral tones underscored by rosy flowers. The 2020 still offers edgy tannins balanced by a hint of zesty acidity." Vinous
"A fresh and refined red with plum and orange flavours and fine tannins. It is medium-bodied, lively and concentrated. It is a little tight at the end, suggesting that it will open up in two or three years. A rather traditional Brunello." James Suckling
"Among the larger wineries in Montalcino, Col d'Orcia is also one of the region's most consistent values - especially given its solid ageing potential in most vintages. The 2020 is no exception. On the nose, it impresses with its lush richness, characterised by red cherries and strawberries. A subliminal flintiness and a mixture of sweet garden and exotic herbs unfold on the nose. A surprisingly powerful structure of dry, sandy tannins slows down its generosity, while leather and orange lurk in the stony core." Decanter
"The Col d'Orcia 2020 Brunello di Montalcino from organic farming offers a classic Sangiovese bouquet with a warm, spicy intensity. It shows sweet flavours of raspberry cake and cooked cherry. There is a subtle element of smoked spice in the background. The tannins are open and the wine offers immediate drinking pleasure. It should be exciting to follow the further development of this wine." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
Dark and seductive with a blend of crushed plums, brown spices, cedar and a hint of cocoa. Its textures are like pure silk bordering on velvet, with a gentle blend of ripe cherries and redcurrants, underlined by salty minerals, while notes of citrus contrast towards the end. A web of fine tannin runs through the final, creating a gentle textural pull that balances balsamic herbs and a hint of mocha as blue and violet-coloured flowers slowly fade away. SUPERIORE.DE
"This Brunello seduces with strawberries, tarragon and nutmeg. It's medium-bodied and tangy, flowing breezily over a cheerful candied pomegranate blossom. The just-ripe tannins give it a talc-like texture, and the lively acidity enlivens the finish." Decanter
"The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino shows its savoury side, with cigar smoke and cured leather leading onto dark fruits and baked blackberries. There's a hint of earthy minerality that adds focus and focus to the wine's medium-bodied finish." Wine Advocate
"A floral style in this tense Brunello, along with cherry jam in a positive, delicate way. Medium to full-bodied and firm with chalky tannins but ripe and refreshing acidity. Juicy overall, with a hint of blood orange in the aftertaste." James Suckling
"The 2020 Brunello di Montalcino is particularly dark and rich in the glass, displaying a blend of plum sauce and grilled herbs underscored by a hint of mint and cedar shavings. It displays a texture of pure silk, appearing cool and supple with a core of tart raspberry fruit enlivened by fresh acidity. The 2020 maintains fantastic balance and poise, finishing classically structured and long, but still quite fresh. It may not have the power of bigger vintages, but impresses all the more with its graceful and yielding nature." Vinous

Barolo Ginestra “Ciabot Mentin” DOCG 2020
The great Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra from the historic Clerico vineyard. Bright garnet red colour. Open-hearted bouquet of ripe fruit and spices, the elegant tannins are accompanied by a pleasant freshness in the complex flavour, deep and long on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fairly firm, concentrated, somewhat ethereal aroma of ripe red and black berries with restrained cherry notes, Provençal herbs and tomato essence. Ripe, dense and warm, fairly juicy fruit with present but crumbly, very ripe tannins, some cocoa and a hint of coffee, persistent and deep on the palate, still rather undeveloped, but already with a certain charm, some bite, fine smoky and ethereal-herbal spice, also some pepper, salty-mineral tones in the background, a little black olive and again tomato essence, fine tobacco flavours, very good, firm, juicy finish with complex spice." Wein-Plus
"Bright ruby red with a brightening rim. svelte on the nose with aromas of crisp cherry and raspberry, plus hints of hibiscus and liquorice. On the palate with a fine alternation of fresh acidity, precise fruit and tightly woven tannins, harmonious and persistent." Falstaff
"Rich fruit and dried fruit flavours. Really captivating." Jancis Robinson
"Initially restrained, the nose gradually reveals ripe berries ready for preserving, accompanied by sweet spices, savoury herbs and fresh rose petals. On the palate, this wine is elegant and refined, with exceptionally pure tannins that are well integrated but unobtrusive. The flavours are pure and the warmth of the vintage comes through fully on the palate, which is rich and forward. Well structured and polished, this is a top class wine." Wine Enthusiast
"Bright ruby red colour that suggests youth. The nose is very floral with notes of fresh roses, violets, pomegranate, cherries and gentle spices. The medium-bodied palate is soft with velvety tannins, refreshing acidity, some vibrancy and a polished finish. A really enjoyable wine." James Suckling
"Cru Ginestra, a refined and multi-layered Barolo. On the nose, notes of cherry, a hint of wild mint, star anise and rosemary, with a hint of clementine peel. Salty tannins, mentholated hints and notes of medicinal plants on the palate. Finish with citrus fruit flavours." Luca Gardini
"The Domenico Clerico 2020 Barolo Ginestra Ciabot Mentin shows a really great balance in terms of the integration of oak. For the first time, the winery has decided to use large oak barrels (the barrique has been completely removed), and the results are exceptional. There are lots of dark fruits, such as cranberries and redcurrants, which characterise the wine throughout. There is also black tea and spice, but these tones work with the fruit rather than against it. The wine finishes supple, with polished tannins, lovely acidity and a much brighter and lighter overall personality." Wine Advocate
"Year after year, the Ciabot Mentin shines with its remarkable consistency. This 2020 begins somewhat closed, with restrained blood orange, but then reveals an exquisite blend of red cherry, violet, leafy lightness and liquorice depth. Graphite and a hint of yellow fruit dominate the palate, carried by a lively acidity and velvety, elegant and very polished tannins." Decanter
"This red is pure and elegant, with rose, cherry, raspberry and mineral aromas and flavors fused to a firm, vibrant structure. Shows fine intensity and verve, with a long, detailed aftertaste of fruit, mineral and spice notes." Wine Spectator

“Le Stanze del Poliziano” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO) · MAGNUM
Classic Super Tuscan made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot matured in French oak. In its very dense violet-red colour, clear fruity notes and a highly enticing hint of candied lemons inspire. The flavour is very harmonious, rich and powerful, the tannins perfectly integrated, the spicy final beautifully persistent. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Le Stanze del Poliziano is dark and brooding. It smells of grilled herbs and exotic spices before giving way to dusty notes of blackcurrant. The texture is silky yet racy and tangy, with polished red fruit tones that slowly saturate, while a hint of liquorice and a touch of sour citrus contrast beautifully. The 2021 rejuvenates with tremendous length and structure, leaving sweet tannins and a bitter blackberry concentration that pinches the cheeks with youthful tension. Le Stanze del Poliziano has a very classic feel." Vinous

Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba “Aeroplanservaj” DOCG 2019 motif 1
A beautiful, very sensual, feminine wine that is only vinified in the best vintages. Exquisitely flavoured with dark fruit, elegant and fine on the palate with plenty of fruit and length. It was named after the nickname once given to the young wild Clerico by his father: Aeroplan Servaj - wild aeroplane. And the labelling is just as wild and creative - there are six different labels! SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium red; caramel-fruity, inviting; juicy attack, fullness, round, dark fruity, lots of good tannin, pleasing." Merum
"Medium ruby red colour. Complex, spicy nose of red fruits and pure red fruits with enveloping tannins on the palate. Great balance and length. Firmly structured, yet elegant and with a certain suppleness." Jancis Robinson
"Aeroplanservaj is a kind of futuristic label for the first Barolo produced in Serralunga by Domenico Clerico. Oscar Arrivabene, the winery's winemaker, explained that 10% of the oak barrels are used for ageing in barriques; this is more of a logistical decision than a stylistic one, as the plot in Serralunga is so small. The wine has hints of smoky woods, dried cherries, cinnamon spice and a heady violet note that permeates the structure. The attack is austere, not rustic, just wild and youthful. The tannins need to be tamed at the moment, but it's a Serralunga full of detail and I'd wager it will age well." Decanter
"Firm, complex and deep, slightly iodised, also fleshy and a little herbal aroma of ripe black rather than red berries with a hint of soy sauce, tomato essence and floral nuances. Firm, tart and juicy fruit, surprisingly fresh despite all its power, a certain acid bite and fine, youthful tannins, slightly smoky notes on the palate, a little cocoa and hints of coffee, peppery notes in the background, a little herbs and salt, good depth, still barely developed, tobacco traces, very good, firm, juicy and tart-spicy, again slightly smoky finish with peppery, juniper-like tones and noticeable alcoholic strength." Wein-plus
"Flavours of cherries and plums with some fresh roses follow through to a medium body, with fine tannins and a fresh and clean finish. Bright and lively. Taut. Firm and structured." James Suckling
"This red wine is rich but densely woven, providing a backdrop for the flavours of cherries, wild strawberries, earth, minerals and wild herbs. Balanced, even graceful, with fine intensity and a lingering aftertaste of fruit, minerals and herbs." Wine Spectator
"Brilliant ruby red with garnet-coloured rim. On the nose, initially fine earthy tones, some cold smoke, after some time Assam tea, ripe raspberries, cranberries, precious wood. Polished, creamy fruit on the palate, extremely energetic and with vibrant acidity, the tannins are powerful and firm, currently still a little young and wide-meshed, will mature well." Falstaff
"The first Serralunga from the historic Monforte winery, bottled for the first time in 2006, comes from a beautiful family story. Notes of cranberry on the nose, nuances of peony, undergrowth and eucalyptus." Luca Gardini
"With its colourful fantasy label, the Domenico Clerico 2019 Barolo Aeroplan Servaj shows dark fruit and a velvety texture with rusty nails and pencil shavings. This vintage is more concentrated and structured overall, and the result is both rich and very beautiful. The fruit comes from vines planted in 1994. The wine is aged mostly in large oak barrels and about 10% in barriques." Wine Advocate
