Ricasoli's classic is now made from 100% Sangiovese. The grapes come from a south-facing plot at an ideal altitude of 250 to 450 metres above sea level. It is not every year that Enzo Pontoni produces a single-varietal Malvasia from the small Mont di Zuc parcel. With the 2022 vintage, a few hundred bottles were once again bottled. Pale straw yellow in colour. Very rich, inviting bouquet of oak, pear and peach that immediately casts a spell. Lots of pressure and power on the palate - an intensity that otherwise only a red wine possesses. The long finish is characterised by notes of lemon, minerality and well-integrated wood. The 1.6-hectare Loreto vineyard is located on a slope right next to the winery and has an ideal south-east exposure. Vigna Loreto is only vinified in the best vintages and is an even more intense interpretation of the Sangiovese grape. Ghiaie della Furba means "pebbles of the Furba stream" and there is a reason for this, as the vines for this wine grow on the river pebbles on the banks of this stream. It is one of the very first "Supertuscans".
