“GF” Metodo Classico Rosato VSQ 2017 dosaggio zero · MAGNUM in OWC
Bright, vibrant pink colour. Spicy oak and vanilla nuances complement the aromas of sour red berries, plums and herbs on the inviting nose. GF exudes a very nice freshness that helps to focus and highlight the intense, dense red fruit flavours. It is more reminiscent of a sparkling and racy red wine than a rosé champagne. The long finish is lively and precise, yet multi-layered and complex. Unfortunately, only 3,000 bottles of this masterpiece are produced each year. SUPERIORE.DE

“DUEMANI” Cabernet Franc Costa Toscana IGP 2020 (BIO)
For us, the pure Cabernet Franc from Duemani is one of the best representatives of the grape variety and the western Tuscan coastal region. The bouquet has an extraordinary clarity of dark plum, coffee and wild roses. Rich and with a perfectly integrated woody note on the palate, its strength, structure and elegance are particularly fascinating. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby colour with a subtly brightening rim. On the nose, gentle notes of blood orange zest, cassis, a hint of eucalyptus, liquorice, with an aftertaste of incense, very fruity. A juicy entry and progression on the palate, showing fleshy, precise fruit, savoury, noble, with great length and a rosemary final." Falstaff
"The 2020 Duemani is classy, refined and supple. Mocha, dried herbs, menthol, rose petals and succulent red/purplish fruit all meld together effortlessly. A bit of aeration brings out the wine's energy and vibrancy, both of which are admirable. I would give it a year or two in bottle to see if a more aromatic Franc character emerges. Today, the 2020 is still very much on the fruity side." Vinous
"A pure and juicy red with black berries, juicy fruit, spice and fresh herbs, like thyme. Some terra-cotta. Medium-bodied with juicy fruit and a creamy texture. Plenty of flavor at the end." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
Medium, radiant ruby red. Complex nose of sweet and cedar wood, paired with Mediterranean maquis and delicate sweet cherry. In the mouth, balsamic notes, very finely woven tannins and a wonderful complexity that envelops the juicy fruit core and gives the wine an impressive depth and length. The elegance is also very impressive and will certainly increase with further maturity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep aromas of cherries and flowers; compact construction, the tannins racy and well integrated, beautiful melt and polish and of great elegance." Vinum
"Dense spicy bouquet, tart fruit and spice on the palate; elegant, compact style with racy flow, very classic, noticeable tannin and grip, nice freshness and ethereality. Needs time." Weinwisser
"Brilliant medium ruby red. A seductive richness on the nose, combined with cool red fruits and notes of iron and black pepper. The spicy note on the finish adds depth to the fresh red fruit, accompanied by a long vein of persistent grainy tannins. Super-elegant." Jancis Robinson
"Castello Romitorio's classic Brunello, which comes from the estate's highest plots - between 350 and 450 metres - embodies the vintage's grace without sacrificing depth or flavour. The aromas are ethereal at first, then join the scents of rosehip, liquorice root and juniper. The sweetness of the pure cherry in the mouth is balanced by a juicy acidity and powdery tannins. The wine has a sneaky substance and a long-lasting presence. The Filo di Seta may have more reserves for ageing, but I can't help but be completely charmed (for the price) by the sheer elegance of this wine." Decanter
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino impresses with a blend of dried citrus peel, cedar chips, floral scrub, black cherry and Tuscan dust. It is soft, even buoyant, with a depth of velvety, textured red and blue fruits and sweet, liquid purple tones colouring the palate. The 2018 finishes fresh and long with notes of wild blueberries and a touch of balsamic spice, framed by a layer of fine tannin. This is a complete success for the vintage." Vinous
"I like the dried purple undertones of the red and blue fruits, along with some walnut shell and olive. There is so much flavour here, packed into a compact core framed by silky, firm tannins. Dense and concentrated. Try it after 2024." James Suckling
"The Castello Romitorio 2018 Brunello di Montalcino shows crisp and tart fruit with cherry, cassis and wild plum. This medium-bodied wine offers plenty of freshness and brightness in a vintage that was challenging for many. This expression is unique thanks to the inner energy on display; the red fruits are prominent and the wine's balanced acidity rounds it all out." Wine Advocate
"A graceful red hallmarked by cherry, strawberry, rose, mineral and Mediterranean herbs. Lacy and succulent yet firm, ending on the minerally side. Vibrant and long." Wine Spectator

“DUEMANI” Cabernet Franc Costa Toscana IGP 2019 (BIO)
The single-varietal Duemani is for us one of the best representatives of the West Tuscan coastal region. The bouquet of exceptional clarity of dark plum, coffee and wild roses. Rich and with perfectly integrated wood notes on the palate, its structure and elegance are particularly fascinating. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, deep dark ruby with fine violet shimmer. Very clear and memorable nose of resinous cedar, lots of dark berry fruit, wild raspberry, blackberry and elderberry, tobacco in the background. Shows a lot of fine-meshed tannin on the palate, juicy dark berry fruit, opens up in many layers, energetic and present, firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"The 2019 Cabernet Franc Duemani was tasted in a preview capacity as an unfinished wine. What stands out most at this time is the enormous richness and concentration of the fruit. This is a characteristic of the vintage, although we can expect this wine to flesh out and loosen up as it gets closer to its commercial release next year. The grapes are fermented in cone-shaped vessels that enhance the extract during maceration. Fruit comes from 20-year-old vines. Dark black and purple fruits are followed by garden herb, dried mint and tarry spice. With that natural richness comes extra structure and power." Wine Advocate
"Fragrant nose of violets, dried flowers, plums, morello cherries, milk chocolate and toffee. It’s supple and juicy, with a medium body and creamy tannins. Lovely, plush plum fruit and a caressing, lengthy finish. Very structured at the end. Needs a couple of years at least. This is in form like a top long distance runner." James Suckling

“Appius” Cuvée Weiss Alto Adige DOC 2019
Appius is the winery's flagship wine. The elegant, very aromatic cuvée from the white varieties Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris matures for one year in wood and three years on the fine lees in stainless steel. The nose has a complex aroma of tropical fruit and floral notes, flint, white chocolate and mint. Powerful, expansive and long on the palate. A marvellous white wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, rich straw yellow colour, delicate green notes. Intense and inviting nose, initially of cold smoke and beeswax, followed by pineapple and ripe pineapple, some basil in the background. Shows great radiance in the attack, lots of juicy fruit, unfolds with full pressure, beautiful interplay between yellow fruit and a slight bitter component in the final." Falstaff
"Aromas of peach tea, soap, yellow grapefruit and some tomato leaf follow through to a medium body and weighty palate. Very fruity and crisp, a bit tight and dry, with a bitter finish that balances a bold style. Give it time." James Suckling
"A panorama of flavours: melon, fruit and ripe citrus fruits with a hint of mint and dried herbs to round it off. Deliciously creamy, smooth and complex." Decanter

Tasca d'Almerita recalls the first vintage of their legendary Rosso del Conte from the San Lucio vineyard with this lush Riserva del Conte. Ruby red, the aromas of berries, cherries and spices have wonderfully taken the wood into their midst. A lively taste, dense tannins and an endless finish complete the perfect picture. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, elegant ruby red. Restrained, yet balanced nose, appears multilayered, albeit filigree. On the palate very juicy, dense, with clear fruit and tightly meshed enveloping tannin, shows elegant pressure, builds up in many layers, great length and finesse." Falstaff
"Deep crimson. A little less immediate and floral than the normal 2016 with brooding fruit and touches of dark spice. Tightly wound and still very embryonic fruit palate with vibrant, almost linear acidity. The fruit slowly unfurls on the palate over a rich layer of polished, fine tannins. Finely balanced but in need of much more time." Jancis Robinson
"The 2016 vintage was characterised by a mild and dry winter, a cool spring and a summer with well-distributed rainfall. Summer temperatures were not very high and ensured a slow and complete ripening of the grapes. Grapes were harvested on 29 September. 'The vintage was deemed worthy of being sealed in numbered bottles,' said Corrado Maurigi, estate manager. The wine is extremely youthful with a vinous, violet character. Vibrant red cherry fruit dominates over a balsamic whiff, with a floral bouquet in the background. Silky first, then velvety, it's a precise and crisp wine - although lacking layers at the moment due to the youthfulness." Decanter
"The 2016 Riserva del Conte Vigneto San Lucio keeps you at the edge of the glass, with a dark yet gorgeous display of licorice-tinged currants and plums complemented by notes of stone dust, mint and hints of spiced orange. This is elegance personified, casting a polished display of black cherries across a core of vibrant acidity, complementary notes of sour citrus and wild herbs mounting toward the close. You hardly notice its tannic heft until the very end, as this tapers off with harmony, showing classically dry, persistent yet still so enjoyable, even at this young stage. That said, the best is truly yet to come, and collectors will benefit from cellaring this for at least another three to five years." Vinous
"Only made in the best vintages, the Tasca Conti d'Almerita 2016 Sicilia Contea di Sclafani Riserva del Conte Tenuta Regaleali sees its fruit sourced from the Vigneto San Lucio in a classic winemaking subzone on the western side of the island. Made with a blend of the indigenous grapes Perricone and Nero d'Avola, the wine is streamlined and elegant with enormous persistence that can be counted in many long minutes. The bouquet shows dried cherry, plum, leather and a touch of scorched earth or grilled rosemary. This is a spectacular wine that sits at the top of the Sicilian wine pyramid. I love the mineral interlude with granite and crushed slate that appears on the close." Wine Advocate

NA for Nals, MA for Margreid. A tribute to two outstanding sites where something special can be felt, seen and felt, and which have inspired cellarmaster Harald Schraffl to create something equally special from their grapes. A wine and essence that expresses the essence of the small parcels in its purest form, whose typicity tells the South Tyrol of tomorrow, a timeless wine with recognition value in an international context.
The Chardonnay vines for NAMA are between 30 and 40 years old. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand. After the gentle whole bunch pressing, the must is pre-clarified by natural, static sedimentation, fermentation and ageing in small oak barrels for 18 months on the lees. This is followed by ageing on the lees for a further year in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by a further year of bottle ageing. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sweet white flowers, opal apples and notes of candied lime make up the bouquet of the 2019 Chardonnay Nama, flooding the palate with opulent textures and rich white stone fruit balanced by a vibrant acidic core and gentle acidic citrus notes. The Chardonnay is beautifully balanced, leaving a hint of concentration that gives it a tactile feel, while finishing with great length and finesse." Vinous
"Bright straw yellow with strong green nuances. Opens with notes of mint, ripe pineapple, fine smoky components, some brown butter. Firm and sturdy on the palate, well-integrated acidity, firm pressure on the final, roasted hazelnuts in the aftertaste." Falstaff
"The Nals Margreid 2019 Alto Adige Bianco Nama is a Chardonnay, although previous vintages have included small amounts of Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc. From this vintage onwards, the wine is only identified as Chardonnay on the front label. Characterised by a cool mountain climate, this lovely wine shows many of the elegant fruit and mineral accents we have seen in past editions of Nama. It also offers light toasty and oaky notes that give the wine a lovely texture, a soft creaminess and excellent length. It is a beauty." Wine Advocate
"The intensity and subtlety of this young white wine is impressive. It offers aromas of spicy pears, granite and flint, as well as alpine flowers and hints of cream and vanilla. Also mango. Full-bodied yet very linear, with wonderful length and intensity. It lingers on the palate for minutes. It has the class of a top Burgundy and yet is a true South Tyrolean. 100% Chardonnay this year. 2,000 bottles." James Suckling

Limitation of 2 articles per customer“CeniPrimo” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
As a result of extensive soil research, Francesco Ricasoli was able to identify three micro-vineyards, which will be vinified separately from the 2015 vintage onwards. The range of Chianti Classico Gran Selezione now includes, in addition to the famous Castello di Brolio, three cru sites (Colledilà, Roncicone and Ceniprimo), all of which are 100% planted with Sangiovese. They differ in structure and taste in close correspondence with their terroir and impressively demonstrate the complexity of the Chanti Classico region.
CeniPrimo is a single-varietal Sangiovese from soils shaped by a former river course. It is a 6.4 hectare site planted in 1998 with southwest exposure. This site is in a valley on the Arbia River, and the soils are very complex at this point with alluvium and clay that is low in organic matter and lower in limestone. From our tasting, it seems to be the most nuanced and diverse of the three single vineyard Gran Selezione.
Intense, fresh and bright bouquet of violets and wild spicy notes. In the drink, an elegant acidity and fine mineral slate traces. Cherry, blackberry, plum, white pepper and a little rosemary lead the perfectly structured drop into a never-ending and multi-layered finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A complex, concentrated red wine with seductive aromas of cherries, blackcurrants, violets, minerals and spices. Dry and powerful, with a firm, mineral finish. It shows good balance and a long-lasting aftertaste, combining the fruity, mineral and spicy elements." Wine Spectator
"Straightforward fruit and floral aromas, then subtle spice too; the tannins powdery, well underpinned by the acidity, the finish on notes of sun-ripened berries. Pleases with its verve." Vinum
"The CeniPrimo, the lowest of Ricasoli's three crus, comes from a site 300 metres above sea level in the Arbia Valley on river soils. As a result, it is darker and earthier compared to the other two crus, grippier and also with an amazing acidity. There is a hint of creaminess in the background, with notes of earth, pepper and wood. It's very tasty and vertical, with balsamic freshness and beautiful purity, but definitely needs more time to show its best side." Decanter
"The Barone Ricasoli 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Brolio CeniPrimo opens with a medium-dark, saturated appearance and a slightly more concentrated feel, with aromas of cherry liqueur, blackberries, spices and sweet earth. Thanks to the lower-lying vineyards and silty riverbed soils, this wine is a little fruitier and richer in texture. However, this wine also offers a touch of lively freshness on the finish, and that makes a big difference in a warm vintage like this. It remains very balanced throughout." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of firm-to-the-bite cherries with citrus peel. Flowers, like red roses, also come through clearly. Medium to full body, with open-grained tannins that cling like cashmere. Powerful, fresh and lively. Give this wine three to five years to develop." James Suckling

“SUISASSI” Syrah Rosso Costa Toscana IGP 2020 (BIO)
Suisassi is rich and expressive. The bouquet convinces with aromas of sage, rosemary, wild flowers, liquorice, violets and plums. Very full and round on the palate with memories of berries, chocolate and nuts. Elegant and intellectual, still needs time. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Wonderfully fragrant floral nose of fresh violets, juicy cherries, rose hips, blood oranges, with an aftertaste of elderberries and dried macchia. Very polished, with cool fruit on the tongue, very juicy on the palate, with youthful, grippy tannins, a floral finish, powerful, with currently still somewhat youthful tannins." Falstaff
"The 2020 Suisassi is bursting with fresh blueberry, lavender, mint, spice, black pepper, cloves and incense. This brisk, vibrant Syrah is quite charming. The mid-weight, intensely savory style offers tons of freshness, a rarity on the Tuscan coast." Vinous

“Vigna Seré" Passito Rosso Veneto IGT 2003 dolce
Passito Seré is not a new wine from Dal Forno, but the former Recioto DOCG, which is now being marketed as an IGT - if you get to see or drink it at all. Incredibly rich and dense, lots of ripe, dark fruit and roasted coffee beans on the nose. Opulent and generous on the palate, the sweetness shows excellent balance. A particularly structured and almost magical dessert wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"Has a tantalising nose of plums, tar, espresso and dried nuts. Full to medium body, with good supporting tannins that become chewy on the finish, and plenty of dark chocolate and mocha lingering at the end. It will be well worth the wait. Super intense and multi-layered. Like a little vintage port." Wine Spectator
"Dense garnet color, with aromas of fresh figs, cherries, prunes and dark chocolate. Dense and silky with stunning dried prune flavors, a full body and super-lively cleansing acidity despite. A meditation wine with definition and depth. A rarity." James Suckling
"The Rosso Passito Vino Dolce Vigna Serè 2003 is incredibly fresh. It opens like a dusty cedar box with a sweet blend of cloves, cocoa, cherry sauce and dusty rose, lifted by a hint of fresh mint. The whole flows across the palate like pure silk, seamlessly smooth yet surprisingly serene and delicate. Masses of ripe red fruits and inner spices are carried by a zesty acidity. It leaves a hint of raspberry jam and cloves and finishes with incredible length and freshness, making the 2003 a dessert in a glass, but also too easy to drink. And all this with only 140 grams of residual sugar per Liters. The Rosso Passito Vino Dolce Vigna Serè was not allowed to be bottled as a Recioto because it did not fulfil the "specific characteristics" of this category. Marco is of the opinion that this is the best Recioto his father has ever made, even if it cannot be labelled as such." Vinous

“Alberelli di Giodo” Nerello Mascalese Sicilia DOC 2021 · MAGNUM in OWC
The annual production of this boutique winery on Etna is just 9,000 bottles. At an altitude of 950 metres above sea level, the one and a half hectares of vines are divided into eight tiny plots and have been gradually bought up by the well-known Oenologist. The area is planted with Nerello Mascalese bush vines, which have been spared the phylloxera phylloxera and make their way through the lava-covered terraces.
The single vines, which are on average 80 to 100 years old, are cultivated in the traditional, low-bush Alberello style, to which the wine owes its name. Alberelli di Giodo is extremely elegant and flavoursome and represents the minerality and finesse typical of its volcanic growing region to a remarkable degree. SUPERIORE.DE
"The grapes for the red wine grow outside the DOC at over 950 metres above sea level and are planted with 80 to 100-year-old Nerello Mascalese bush vines. Wonderful, Burgundian-like nose with red berries, the finest cherries as well as subtle florality and smoky spice. On the palate, it has an elegant structure with a mineral and earthy centre, supported by fine acidity and fine, juicy, ripe tannins." Weinwisser
"Medium, bright ruby red colour with a slightly brightening rim. Lots of herbs and some fruit on the nose, thyme, dried oregano and some lemon balm, juicy raspberries and redcurrants. Very animating on the palate, straightforward and with a fine fruit core, appealing length and fine-grained tannins." Falstaff
"Aromas of plum, iron and pumice with some flowers. It is medium-bodied with powdery, fine tannins. It is complex and elegant, yet very structured. Very long and concentrated. Wild finish with an undertone of lava. Directly above the Contrada di Rapante. Drinkable, but better in two or three years." James Suckling

“Colledilà" Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
As a result of extensive soil research, Francesco Ricasoli was able to identify three microlocations, which will be vinified separately from the 2015 vintage onwards.
The grapes of Colledilà come from the soils of Monte Morello. The 7.6 hectare single-vineyard plot was planted in 2002 on very rocky soils rich in calcium, clay and organic matter. These characteristics give this wine its sharpness and concentration, promising long ageing in the cellar.
Ripe, dark cherry fruit and blackberry aromas, followed by tar, liquorice and potting soil. On the palate, a fine earthiness, cherry and plum, plus finely knit and slightly sweet tannins. The dense fruit and pleasant acid wire the Sangiovese provide the necessary freshness. Masterfully composed! SUPERIORE.DE
"Like a laser beam in profile, this red wine evokes aromas and flavours of cherries, currants, minerals, wild herbs and sweet spices. The lingering, incisive finish leaves a hint of fine tannins. Needs time." Wine Spectator
"Juicy, ripe and bright, it shows a delicious freshness of blackcurrant fruit with classic chalky verticality and length, but it needs more time to reveal all its complexity." Decanter
"Of these 2020 releases, I think the Barone Ricasoli 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Colledilà is the most sensitive to the warm growing season. You sense more fruit ripeness in this wine with savoury spices, leather and roasted espresso beans. There is plenty of plum and purple fruit framed by gravel and campfire ash. Indeed, this 2020 expression offers a nice, balanced freshness in terms of mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"Intense perfume of stone fruit, dark chocolate and tobacco; tightly woven, the tannins polished and in perfect unison with the well-integrated acidity, the finish on notes of black cherries, clear and spot-on. Also very successful in this vintage." Vinum
"Very perfumed with aromas of hibiscus flowers, citrus and fresh cherries leading to a medium body with layers of fruit and very fine tannins that go on and on. Fully integrated. A joy to taste and drink, but it will develop beautifully in bottle. Pure harmony." James Suckling
"Elegantly bright ruby red with a delicate garnet rim. Expressive nose, of rose hips, blood oranges, fresh cherries, very inviting and fragrant, red peach, with delicate floral components. Very juicy entry on the palate, polished and clear, with great brought out red fruit, plus bright spice, long and very elegant." Falstaff

“Vigna Seré" Passito Rosso Veneto IGT 2004 dolce
Passito Seré is not a new wine from Dal Forno, but the former Recioto DOCG, which is now on the market as IGT - if you get to see it or drink it at all. Incredibly rich and dense, lots of ripe, dark fruit and roasted coffee beans on the nose. Opulent and generous on the palate, the sweetness shows excellent balance. A particularly structured and almost magical dessert wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"Labeled as “air-dried sweet red wine” instead of its traditional name “Recioto,” this is indeed a powerful and generous wine. It boasts huge density and superintense aromas of blackberry, oak spice and tobacco. Keep it for your cellar." Wine Enthusiast
"Bright deep ruby. Intense but refined aromas and flavors of red cherry jam, licorice cocoa and flinty minerals, with a bright violet topnote. Lively but harmonious acidity really lift and extend the rich high concentrated and multilayered flavors on the long, luscious and very precise finish. In many respects, this is always my favorite wine from Dal Forno, as I find it has impeccable balance (14% alcohol, 150g/L r.s. and 7g/L total acidity) and a very high easy-drinking quality (especially given a rather crazy-high 56g/L dry extract). The extremely high quality of this wine (it used to be labeled as a Recioto della Valpolicella) and Dal Forno’s exacting standards are well demonstrated by the fact that he has only made this wine six times in the roughly thirty year lifetime of the estate! Even though the 2004 vintage was marred by an early July hailstorm, this is one of Dal Forno’s best Reciotos ever." Vinous
"The 2004 Passito Rosso Vino Dolce Vigna Seré is a masterpiece that is impossible to repeat. In fact, the wine has not been produced since 2004. Even if a vintage as good as this did come along, we'd need to wait another 13 years before we could enjoy this level of maturity and evolution. Formally a Recioto della Valpolicella, this sweet red wine is made with air-dried fruit as local tradition dictates. Luckily no botrytis set in that year, because that would have eroded the wine's deep and luscious color saturation. The bouquet delivers a generous flow of dark spice, bitter chocolate, espresso, raisin, plum, barbecue spice and teriyaki smoke. The concentration and layering of the wine are both rare and distinctive. The mouthfeel sees sweet flavors with a syrupy mouthfeel. The finish offers hints of caramelized brown sugar and savory hickory. The aging window is impossible to predict, but the wine is surely built to last. I can think of no other wine that comes close to matching this unique style." Wine Advocate

“Roncicone” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
As a result of extensive soil research, Francesco Ricasoli was able to identify three microlocations, which will be vinified separately from the 2015 vintage onwards.
Cru Roncicone comes from soils with maritime deposits. It is a 10.1 hectare plot planted between 1998 and 2000 at a density of 6,000 plants per hectare. The soils are rich in marine fossils with sand at the top and thicker clay under the topsoil. Our impression of this wine is that it is the most immediately and softly structured.
Deep dark, fruity-smoky bouquet. On the palate then dark, violet fruits, paired with notes of forest floor, tobacco and a nice spiciness. The volume is full and deep, the tannins very accessible even at a young age and the finish is flanked by a well-structured acidity framework, which will also ensure a very good ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Roncicone, first released in the 2015 vintage, comes from a vineyard with richer soils with marine sediments and large pebbles. It is the most floral and fragrant of Ricasoli's three crus, intense and fleshy, with good spice of black and red cherries, spices and balsamic, finishing with sweet, floral red fruits - a very nice style." Decanter
"The spicy nose is reminiscent of a soothing café, with notes of balsamic vinegar and herbs, and a gentle fruitiness that lingers over the smell of the beans. The velvety texture on the palate is balanced by a sharp acidity and a peppery kick on the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"Offers aromas and flavours of cherry, blackcurrant and plum, underlined by iron and mineral notes. Accents of tobacco and wild herbs emerge on the long, delicious finish. Excellent balance." Wine Spectator
"Ripe and rich Roncicone with plums, currants and jam accompanied by fresh flowers and walnut undertones. Full-bodied, a little chewy and structured, but crisp with fine tannins. Long lasting finish. Needs at least two or three years to develop." James Suckling
"Exquisite bouquet of stone fruit and sandalwood, spiced up by fine spice; harmonious tannin-acid framework, pressure on the finish and yet full of elegance." Vinum
"This is the wine that blew me away last year (when I tasted the excellent 2019 vintage) and convinced me of the innovative work Barone Ricasoli is currently doing. Today, tasting the 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Brolio Roncicone, I am reminded of the quality fruit that comes from this particular 10-acre site with marine fossils in the sandy topsoil. Carefully aged in oak, this Sangiovese shows brilliant clarity and focus, with aromas of roses, dried cherries, campfire ash and delicate mineral notes. This wine paints a beautiful portrait of this grape variety." Wine Advocate

“Habemus Etichetta Rossa” Rosso Lazio IGT 2021
Emanuele Pangrazi is probably Lazio's most ambitious winemaker at the moment. With his extreme planting density and radical yield restriction, he is following a path that is trend-setting for Lazio. After he had fundamentally analysed his terroir and also the climatic conditions, it was clear to him in 2006 that he would plant mainly French grape varieties here according to the principle of the great wines of the Rhone. In addition to his famous Cuvée Habemus (Etichetta Bianca) and the San Giovenale Rosso (assemblage from two vintages of Habemus), he also vinifies four single-varietal Habemus wines, but these are absolutely small.
Habemus Etichetta Rossa, with a production volume of approx. 1,000 bottles, is a pure Cabernet Franc of the absolute extra class. Deep dark ruby red. The bouquet is broad, complex and elegant with a balsamic carpet of graphite, cinchona bark, blood orange and rhubarb. As it progresses, notes of Mediterranean scrub, sweet spices and cherries open up. The palate is full, punchy and warm, the tannins are silky and the alcohol fully integrated. On the finish, those beguiling balsamic notes and sweet spices reappear. If you have patience, you will be richly rewarded with this rare exceptional wine! SUPERIORE.DE

“Zero140” Metodo Classico Alta Langa Riserva DOCG 2010 pas dosé
Zero140 is Enrico Serafino's most extreme Alta Langa and also the most impressive Italian Metodo Classico we have ever tasted. It represents the pinnacle of Enrico Serafino's Alta Langa project and sets an undisputed benchmark in Italy's world of sparkling wines produced according to the méthode champenoise in terms of finesse and emotionality (and length of bottle ageing).
"Refining a bottle for 12 years means having 12 vintages in your own underground cellars at the same time. How can you recognise them? How do you emphasise the complexity of such a special wine? We have chosen to paint the bottom of the bottles with a different colour for each vintage produced, marking the beginning of the rotation of the remuage on the glass. In addition, the decision not to use the label emphasises the complexity of the wine. Therefore, on each bottle, in addition to the capsule required by law, you will only find the jewel that represents our logo or the section of a fossil from the Piedmontese Tertiary, an unmistakable sign of the footprint that nature has left in the natural world over the centuries.
And finally, the choice of colours. The quality of our wines comes from nature. That's why we decided to be inspired by the theory of planets and colours. This connects the sun, the nine planets, the moon and Ceres (dwarf planet) with the different colours that exist: 12 colours that identify and distinguish the 12 vintages of ZERO 140, which are simultaneously refined in our cellars. Starting with the yellow of the sun, we continued with the green of Venus and tried to represent life in colours. The current vintage is 2010, which has been given the black colour dedicated to the planet Pluto." Paolo Giacosa, Kellermeister
Pale gold in the glass. The inviting, deliberately delicately reductive bouquet of poached pear, peach with toasted almonds and baked bread. On the palate, it has a warm, rich texture and a never-ending, soft and perfectly integrated perlage, which only occurs when the wine is given time to mature. A lot of time. On the palate, an unrivalled complex, balanced, buttery and creamy texture, elegant and intense, with an invigoratingly fresh acidity, followed by a deeply emotional mineral finish. This absolutely exceptional sparkling wine opens the doors of Fort Knox (and others) in the blink of an eye. Blessed are those who can call a bottle their own. SUPERIORE.DE
"Pale straw yellow with golden reflections and a subtle perlage. A nose of ripe stone fruit, a hint of nutmeg and bread crust. Hearty on the palate, with clear, ripe fruit and well-integrated perlage, finishing with buttery notes, very mature. A speciality." Falstaff
"A creamy and delicious sparkling wine with attractive notes of lemon cake, custard, brioche and apricot. Medium-bodied, with a very fine, silky foam. Delicious notes of pastry. The whole is held together by a sharp acid backbone." James Suckling
"Aromas of lemongrass, candied lemon peel, orange blossom honey, hazelnuts and fresh croissants pour from the glass of this vital and important wine. On the palate, it is lifted by an energetic acidity and has a richness and depth that comes from 140 months on the lees, but also citrus notes that finish with a lingering minerality." Wine Enthusiast
"The Enrico Serafino 2010 Alta Langa Metodo Classico Pas Dosé Riserva Zero 140 is a wine that assembles dozens of tiny nuances into a unified aromatic front. The result is subtle and elegant: unripe peach, quince, apple, mint, lemon jam, saffron, breakfast biscuits and dusty minerals. There's a lot going on, but one thing's for sure: the wine's freshness and bright primary intensity don't betray the fact that it was made 13 years ago. It is impressive." Wine Advocate
"The Alta Langa Riserva Zero 140 2010 blends fresh notes of camomile, mint and sweet smoke with enriching notes of whole butter and Werther's sweets. It is elegant with a luxurious, silky foam that coats the palate while ripe fruit and a hint of spice play around the palate. The word "seamless" comes to mind as the 2010 finishes long, yet lively and fresh. Notes of baked apples and pears mingle with a noticeable mineral note. With the Zero 140 Riserva, Enrico Serafino has taken his Alta Langa game to a whole new level." Vinous
"This wine, which bears the name of a dwarf planet, consists of 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay from 56 small plots in 16 municipalities. It is the result of Alta Langa's first experiment with extreme refinement: 140 months on the lees give this Riserva wine an exceptional character. The mousse is silky, almost vaporous, and aromas of bread dough, caramelised butter and figs conquer the nose. On the palate, it is acidic, soft and dry." Decanter

Radiant ruby red. Lively nose of small primary fruity red berries, discreet use of wood and an impressive breed and complexity for the price. Precise and taut on the palate, boldly and definitely showing its origin. Then a harmoniously balanced mix of tobacco, leather, cedar and of course cherry and plum. The finely tuned tannin carries this powerful and impressive Riserva into a long final. Impressive, not only because of its extremely moderate price! SUPERIORE.DE
"The Chianti Classico Riserva Il Grigio da San Felice 2020 is a powerful, heady wine. Juicy black plum, leather, tobacco, menthol and oak are amplified in this decidedly rich Riserva. The 2020 isn't exactly subtle, but it's beautifully made, all style." Vinous
"Aromas of black cherry, bark and cedar follow through to a medium body, with firm and chewy tannins and a juicy finish. Still a little austere, but will develop magnificently with a year or two of bottle age." James Suckling
"Reverting to a spicy and savory taste profile, the 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Il Grigio shows a dark, mid-weight texture with extra heft that comes in the form of baked plum, candied cherry and spice." Wine Advocate
"Bright and fruity, with aromas of cherries, strawberries, roses and Mediterranean bushes. It does not lack structure, it remains balanced and long. Tobacco and mineral elements show on the finish." Wine Spectator

“Mille e una Notte” Rosso Sicilia DOC 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
The noble version of Nero d'Avola in an impenetrably dense ruby red colour. The aroma is enveloping with sweet and ripe, yet not "cooked" fruity notes, balsamic and floral nuances of violets, which final with hints of tobacco in the final. The flavour has a great structure and pronounced individuality. The balance of the soft tannins, which are perfectly integrated into the alcoholic component, and the long finish are also convincing. Radiant and powerful. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense, dark ruby red with violet reflections. Ripe and dense nose of dark cherries, blueberries and dried plums, spicy paired with liquorice, black pepper and some cocoa. On the palate with a great fruit core, great freshness and juiciness as well as well-integrated tannins and a long final." Falstaff
"Polished and refined nose with notes of black cherries and vanilla, beautiful tannic structure with a long and evolving finish." Decanter
"A round and balanced red wine with fine, polished tannins that are surrounded by notes of black cherries, plum jam, herbal olives and paprika. Long and fresh, with a hint of loamy earth and mocha on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Mille e Una Notte opens with a basket of berries and spices complemented by cedar shavings and minty herbs. It is silky yet sincere, with tart wild berries and liquorice underscored by salty minerals, while a balsamic resonance builds towards the finish. The 2020 finishes structured and long. Fine tannins saturate the senses, while savoury herbs and a hint of tart blackberry finish." Vinous

“25 Anni” Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
In the Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 Anni, all the elements of a wine full of character multiply exponentially: room-filling aromas of sweet berries, perfectly integrated wood tones, a cornucopia of ripe fruit on the palate, powerful and sensual. Caprai's top wine, which gives incredible pleasure and must be aerated for 3-4 hours when young. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ripe dark berries, chocolate, sweet spices, charred bark, walnuts and a hint of tar on the nose. Full and intense with depth and persistence in the fruit and firm, slightly chewy tannins. Long lasting and earthy finish." James Suckling
"A rich, medium to full-bodied red with a fragrant thread of chopped marjoram, orange peel and spice box that winds through concentrated flavours of reduced cherries, damson jam, red liquorice and tarry minerals. Firm and chewy, but balanced overall, with a tightly wound, well-spiced finish." Wine Spectator
"This darkly hued wine opens with rich aromas of macerated blackberries, preserves, pepper and clove with a hint of violets. The powerful palate is layered with black plums, dried herbs, baking spices and forest floor, all framed by classic firm Sagrantino tannins and finishing with balanced acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"24 months in barriques for the 'definitive' Sagrantino, the culmination of years of research: sour cherry, balsamic notes and star anise, with a hint of wild iris, dense, juicy, savoury on the palate, with notes of undergrowth, black fruits and sweet spices." Luca Gardini
"Rich ruby red with a garnet-red rim. Intense and multi-layered on the nose, with notes of ripe blackberries and Amarena cherries, echoes of violets, dark chocolate and malt, slightly ethereal. Powerful but well-integrated tannins on the palate, builds up in a multi-layered way with a very long final." Falstaff
"The 2019 Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 Anni is imposing, buzzing with a dark mix of dried black cherries, crushed plums, sage, allspice and sweet mint. The texture is exciting, velvety yet cool, weighty yet tangy, washing over the palate with polished red and black fruits and slowly building black tea tannins. An abundance of spice, tobacco and blood orange nuances linger on the finish with tremendous length and concentration. The balance is absolutely fantastic. This is a breathtaking achievement." Vinous

Barolo Briccolina Riserva DOCG 2016
Briccolina is a cru of great complexity that takes its name from its location on the top of the hill. Enrico Serafino's Barolo Riserva is a full-bodied, austere and powerful Barolo that is the result of a sustainable cultivation process. Very complex on the palate, initially rather closed, it then opens up with multi-layered fruit, roasted herbs and a fine menthol note on the finish. It has a rather exotic flavour at first, which makes it particularly exciting and almost incomparable with the other wines from the famous appellation. You have to take your time, but the reward comes with the next sip ... SUPERIORE.DE
"Enticing aromas of dark-skinned fruit, underbrush, violet and camphor form the nose. On the smooth, full-bodied palate, notes of licorice and orange zest accent ripe Marasca cherry and hints of hazelnut set against firm, refined tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"Vibrant and well-structured, this perfumed Barolo reveals hay, chamomile, strawberry, cherry, iron and spice aromas, with a silky texture and a long, savory finish." Wine Spectator
"The Enrico Serafino 2016 Barolo Riserva Briccolina is balanced and bright with ample muscle that is a characteristic of Serralunga d'Alba (the village where this wine sources its fruit). The bouquet delivers candied cherry and blackberry with iron-rich earth, black rose and fragrant tea leaf." Wine Advocate

Barbaresco Rabajà Riserva DOCG 2019 · MAGNUM
Rabaja is an elegant and great wine. Deep layers of fruit practically bury the tannins, which is very unusual for a young Rabajà. A multitude of dark, blue-tinged fruits, lavender, mint, violets and spices race across the palate in an extremely lively, compelling Barbaresco of the highest calibre. An expansive fruity core, alongside hints of roses, menthol, minerals and tar. The concentrated palate is of enviable finesse and is practically weightless in the mouth. It shows crushed black cherries, juicy raspberries, orange peel, cloves and liquorice alongside firm, velvety tannins. The bright acidity provides an impeccable balance. Rabaja offers the full range: beautiful fruit, defined body, outstanding length, fine tannins and marvellous balsamic notes. Great Barbaresco cinema! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà smells of dark fruit, crushed rock, graphite, sage, menthol and lavender, all racing across the palate, supported by strong, young Rabajà tannins that make their presence felt. This medium-bodied, powerful Barbaresco has it all." Vinous
"This red exhibits a mix of cherry, strawberry, orange peel, camphor, iron and tobacco flavors. Though backed by burly tannins, this remains linear and long, with the fruit returning in the end. Shows terrific balance and length overall." Wine Spectator
"Vibrant medium ruby red colour. The wine is finely balanced, with sweet violets, floral lightness and redcurrants. The palate is medium-bodied with violet notes, velvety tannins, refreshing acidity and a long, crisp finish. The wine has a certain austerity, but also personality. It will need time to develop." James Suckling
"This wine is a classic car. Elegant and sleek, a design that fits into the modern world but is still a classic. A power lurking under the bonnet that, when released, cannot be re-bottled. This is a wine of beauty, depth and power. Dark cherries and plums with sweet and savoury spices fade into blue violets and wild herbs. The palate is rich and indulgent, with warm fruit compotes framed by vibrant acidity and elegant tannins that feel like a perfect leather seat as you prepare to start the engine." Wine Enthusiast

Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2015
Here comes 1st place in James Suckling's TOP wines 2024: this great wine is only released for sale nine years after the harvest. The slow drying of the fully ripe grapes gives this cru its immense power and density as well as its extraordinary character with powerful ripeness, fruit fullness, beautiful concentration and great elegance. On the palate, Bertani's Amarone demonstrates freshness, noble lightness and great dynamism. An exciting wine and for decades probably the most classic Amarone - the archetype, so to speak - of the entire appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
"A vivid ruby color with a garnet tinge and super-restrained nose of licorice, oak bark, smoke, wood, cigar box, leather, dark chocolate, crushed violets and prunes. Freshness and subtlety. Full-bodied and elegant on the palate due to ripe, filigree tannins with long acidity and a toasty, savory aftertaste. One of the great Amarones. Corvina and Rondinella. With further bottle ageing, it looks forward to a great evolution. SUPERIORE.DE

This graceful, medium-bodied Barbaresco has a lot going for it and is very drinkable from the start. The silky, ethereal qualities of the Nebbiolo are evident." Vinous

“Riecine di Riecine” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020 · MAGNUM
Pure Burgundian elegance and Tuscan flavour. A Sangiovese in Riserva quality that impresses with its long, continuous course of flavoursome fruit and carefully extracted tannins. Light ruby colour with garnet-red reflections. Clear nose with notes of pomegranate, raspberry and a hint of saffron. Fresh, juicy and superbly unadulterated on the finish and with great ageing Storage potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, shiny ruby colour with garnet-red nuances. Fragrant, almost perfumed on the nose, of lavender, rosehip, fresh raspberries and fine woody spice. Tightly woven, elegant tannins on the palate, carried by invigorating acidity, with a long, pleasantly salty finish." Falstaff
"The Riecine di Riecine 2020 is an idiosyncratic, fascinating wine. Dried herbs, tobacco, incense, wild flowers and mint give this pure Sangiovese a decidedly savoury flair. The Riecine di Riecine is medium-bodied and also quite spicy, it is decidedly exotic." Vinous
"The Riecine di Riecine 2020 is a real statement wine. The very distinctive packaging is dedicated to this pure expression of Sangiovese from 60 year old vines. It offers plenty of ripe, dark cherry, but this wine also shows a clearer veiling of the sweet cinnamon spice that comes from the grape skins." Wine Advocate
"A fresh, clean and light red wine with candied lemon slices and a hint of flowers such as violets. It is medium-bodied and delicious. It builds on the palate. Crisp and flattering texture. Toscana of the new generation." James Suckling
"The nose is a textured blend of astringent fruit, stone, herbs and metal, with a sprinkle of salt and pepper rounding everything out. The salt and pepper are strong on the palate, but notes of hibiscus and cranberry continue to mix and mingle as well, creating a savory, lively atmosphere." Wine Enthusiast
