Roxanne Rosso is a blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Ciliegiolo. To preserve the fruit nuances, the wine is aged in stainless steel and only 20% of the Sangiovese is aged in barrel. It shows a deep ruby colour and intense and fruity notes of ripe red fruits and sweet spices. It has a harmonious structure and well-polished tannins with a long finish. “Villa Petrognano” Bianco Pomino DOC 2023
The owner of Selvapiana, Francesco Giuntini, and the owner of the Petrognano winery, Cecilia Galeotti Ottieri, have been friends for a long time. Their small winery on the border between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna is located in the centre of the Pomino DOC, which was first mentioned in a document in 1716 and is one of the first four protected appellations in Tuscany (alongside Rufina Classico, Carmignano and Valdarno Superiore).
The two have been working together on the "Villa Petrognano" project for several years - under this name, a clear, very well-structured white wine is produced under the aegis of Selvapiana. Delicious notes of white peach, apple and rose on the nose, followed by honey and traces of star jasmine.
