Valgiano should be experienced if you want to know your way around the world of biodynamic viticulture. Now Mazzapink has been added! Already the design distinguishes it from the other wines of the estate: the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro in Lucca's centre can be found on the label as well as the Valgian-(h)orn, a work of art at the entrance of the winery. The artist Sara Di Giovanni translated the specifications into the form of a comic strip, as Lucca is considered one of the centres of European comic art.

Mazzarosa is a vineyard managed by Valgiano. 60% Sangiovese and 40% Cabernet grow here. The new Valgiano wine is the result of a neighbourly cooperation for the biodynamic cultivation of the vineyards located between San Pietro a Marcigliano and Sant'Andrea. The grapes are crushed with the feet, the spontaneously fermenting must is aged after a few days partly in concrete, partly in wood. The wine presents itself with a lot of fruit and enormously accessible, yet complex and sophisticated, and as always: Just like the classic wines of the estate, the Mazzapink should also reflect its terroir - an entry-level wine of considerable quality! The Aglianico Il Repertorio is expressive and uninhibited. Dark berries, an herbal bouquet of mint, rosemary, black olive, thyme and sage, plus tones of leather and liquorice. The name Mare Antico (ancient sea) is a tribute to the marine fossils and shells found in the soils of Orvieto. It is a beautiful blend of 55% Grechetto, 20% Vermentino, 20% Chardonnay and 5% Procanico and is the house's flagship wine every year.

Mare Antico blows like a cool breeze from a mountain top, mixing crushed rock with raw almonds, a hint of sage, ginger and flint in its interesting bouquet. It flows across the palate with skilful ease, long and citrusy. It also has a lovely inner sweetness contrasted by candied lime and salty minerals. Finishes structured and crisp, with a crisp green apple and residual acidity that begs for the next sip. The complexity of this wine is unrivalled, coupled with an overwhelming balance. Old vines in excellent locations, late harvest, strict selection, exemplary work in the vineyard and cellar and a few months in barriques result in this powerful, long-lasting Lugana. Bright straw yellow in colour. Pinot Blanc Lepus (Latin for field hare) in light, bright straw yellow with green reflections. Wonderful aromas of fresh bread, dried field flowers, apple, peach and a hint of almonds. On the palate, its distinctive personality is accompanied by exciting fruit, structure and harmonious acidity. The 5-month maturation on the fine lees gives Lepus additional complexity and fullness. The Maggiorina vineyards in the municipality of Boca and Prato Sesia are situated at altitudes between 400 and 450 metres. The vines are now between 40 and 100 years old. Behind the name Maggiorina lies an ancient heritage of vineyard cultivation dating back to Roman times. The cultivation of vines in the hills of Novara was already mentioned by Pliny the Elder (23-79 AD) in his "storia naturalis". For centuries, the maggiorina system was the only way of planting vineyards in Boca: three vines develop in the four cardinal directions and form a square like a goblet (quadretto maggiorino).

Maggiorina is produced from Croatina and Nebbiolo grapes as well as 10 other indigenous varieties and is a so-called mixed set with a lot of bite, sour cherry and blackcurrant flavours and an incredible drinking flow. Maggiorina is fresh, lively, delicately perfumed and at the same time fruity, mineral and spicy. The bright red cherry fruit and a whole range of floral and herbal notes give the wine its striking aromatic presence. We are enamoured with its energy and personality, combined with a certain wildness and breed that is extremely appealing and distinctive. SUPERIORE.DE

Il Conte (formerly Réserve del Conte) is a fine South Tyrolean blend of Lagrein, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark cherry, raspberry, grilled herbs, rose petals, fresh leather and liquorice on the nose. Rich and juicy on the palate, with a long and elegant finish. SUPERIORE.DE

Valcanzjria is a cuvée of Chardonnay, Carricante and Albanello. Fragrant with a fine fresh-oxidative note of white flowers and limes, full-bodied and yet fresh on the palate. Kleos emerges from the glass with a musky blend of blackcurrant, savoury herbs and crushed stone. Silky smooth on the palate with a depth of ripe red and black fruits balanced by a hint of citrus and spice. Finishes incredibly fresh yet powerful and lightly structured. Already very pleasant now, but due to its youthfulness deserves a short stay in the cellar to fully develop its tension. SUPERIORE.DE

Scalabrone presents itself generously every year, but also incredibly fresh. It shows ripe strawberries with a hint of sweet cream, tropical kiwi and lime. It washes over the palate with lightness, carrying ripe red fruit, a hint of melon and a savoury minerality. The finish is long and flanked by lively acidity and salty minerals. Tefra (Greek word for ash) is a 100% Nerello Mascalese and comes from a parcel in the Contrada Rampante on the northern slopes of Etna between the municipalities of Randazzo and Castiglione di Sicilia. Bright pink colour. Delicate and very clear nose of raspberries and wild strawberries, oranges and herbs.
