“Monleale” Barbera Colli Tortonesi DOC 2017
Monleale is a rich, intoxicating wine. Medium ruby-garnet in colour, the bouquet has a subtle sweetness, dried cherry, balsamic notes and clove. On the palate, spicy and earthy undertones support its precise core of dense red cherry and plum fruit, while it briskly presents a powerful and pleasantly savoury style that is ideal for the dining table. Monleale has plenty of personality and character, and its persistence and longevity make it one of the most profound and intense Barbera wines to be found in this price range. SUPERIORE.DE

“Le Russeghine” Pigato Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC 2023 (BIO)
The grapes come mainly from the historic Russeghine vineyard above the town of Ranzo Borgo. The character of the Pigato here is of particular depth and minerality, which is due to the exceptional terroir and the long maturation on the fine lees. Bright straw yellow in colour with light green reflections. Fragrant nose of herbs, yellow fruit and traces of pine resin. Full and long-lasting flavour with beautiful spiciness and aromas of citrus and almond, then again this beguiling, deep minerality at the end. SUPERIORE.DE

Marsala Superiore “Old John” Riserva DOC 1998 ambra semisecco
In 1773, a rich and resourceful merchant named John happened to land on the Marsala Coast. He was the first to produce the classic Marsala known to this day by adding brandy, refining it so that he could take it back to England without the risk of early spoilage. Intense amber colour. On the nose notes of apricot and carob, some thyme and black pepper. Full and warm on the palate with a fine apricot touch and candied fruit notes. SUPERIORE.DE
"Light amber; sea, fruit ripeness, candied, caramelised orange peel, deep, beautiful nose; not too sweet, round, bittersweet, dates, depth and extended length." Merum
"If you aren't familiar with Marsala, this medium-dry wine would be a good place to start, with intense caramelized-nut, candied-orange and bitter-chocolate character, plus a restrained touch of sweetness. The tannins in Marsala can make the aftertaste bitter, but here they really help to balance the sweetness." James Suckling
"Cantine Pellegrino is a historical producer active since 1880 that has over 150 hectares in different parts of Sicily and on the Island of Pantelleria. This Marsala is bright amber. The nose is pleasant and fresh, with straightforward notes of apricot, hints of carob and thyme. The wine is full, sweet with integrated alcohol, round and generous on the palate. It is made with Grillo, Inzolia and Catarratto, ages 48 months in oak barrels and at least six months in barrique." Decanter

“DUBL” Metodo Classico Rosé VSQ brut
Feudi di San Gregorio's DUBL project was born in 2004 from an awareness of the great richness of the autochthonous vines of the Irpinia region and the desire to open up new horizons for them: as a Metodo Classico Spumante or by means of the famous Méthode Champenoise. An advisor was quickly found for this - none other than Anselme Selosse, who is known for his champagnes and his feeling for the particularities of the vines and vineyards.
Light salmon pink. Soft, creamy foam, red wild berries on the nose, plus some cherry blossom and a fine almond note. On the palate, a silky texture with a full, lively core. A high-class Metodo Classico from Campania that captivates us not only because of its freshness and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2022
Mastrojanni's rich and concentrated Rosso di Montalcino smells of a dark, seductive blend of sweet herbs, menthol and tobacco intertwined with dried cherries and redcurrants. It soothes with a deep, silky texture, which is then replaced by tart red berries and savoury spices over a stimulating acidity. Finishes balsamic with a hint of sour citrus and sweet, polished tannins that frame the experience beautifully. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a sparkling centre. Cranberry and delicate strawberry candy on the nose, with fine hints of leather and stone, slightly smoky components on the finish. Beautiful juiciness and clear fruit on the palate, well-balanced with present red fruit, good!" Falstaff
"Medium to deep ruby red colour. Spicy cherry fruit that is a little reduced and needs plenty of air. Lush and aromatic cherry fruit on the palate, but by no means heavy. Lots of juice and fruit, filled out with chewy tannins. Long and fresh and convincing in every respect." Jancis Robinson
"Intense notes of ripe blackberries and pressed flowers such as roses and violets. Light to medium body with dusty but ripe tannins, ripe, jammy fruit character and juicy acidity." James Suckling
"The Mastrojanni 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is a beautiful, unforced wine with just the right amount of bing cherry and pomegranate to add lift and energy to the bouquet. It continues on the palate with medium intensity, good balance and sweet fruit flavours." Wine Advocate

“Manna” Bianco Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2023
The vineyards of the five grape varieties are located between 350 and 800 metres above sea level and face south-west. The vines grow on dolomite, porphyry, sand and marl soils. As a young wine, Manna has golden yellow colour nuances, which turn into strong golden tones after a few years of maturation. Manna is very special: complex, multi-layered with a bouquet of elderberry, pistachio, apricot, nutmeg and delicate rose petals. Concentrated, full-bodied and at the same time elegant and complex in flavour. A racy wine that can be discovered from different perspectives as it develops and reveals its character more and more. Even the young wine changes in the glass and surprises again and again. SUPERIORE.DE

“Ginestrino” Nebbiolo Langhe DOC 2022 (BIO)
For us, one of the best Nebbiolo from the Langhe. Some winemakers would make the entry-level Barolo from this excellent base wine from younger parcels. Multi-layered, dark bouquet of wild berries, menthol, spices and rosehip. The palate is powerful, present, with a taut finish and pronounced primary fruit. The tannins are well woven and very supple. Impeccable elegance! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo Ginestrino is laced with crushed red berry fruit, cedar, tobacco, spice, mint and dried flowers. This lithe, elegant Langhe Nebbiolo has quite a bit to offer. It's a lovely entry-level offering, especially in this vintage." Vinous
"The Conterno Fantino 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo Ginestrino reveals medium-rich concentration with primary fruits that touch the darker side of the Nebbiolo spectrum. Notes of blackberry and wild plum are softened by oak, tarry spice and toasted cinnamon. The wine deserves a bigger drinking window, probably taking it up to the 10-year mark." Wine Advocate
"Fine and polished with lightly chewy tannins and a medium body. Juicy and red-fruited with hints of cocoa. Velvety finish." James Suckling

“Biancosesto 20° vendemmia” Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
The Biancosesto is a true Friulian made from equal parts of the local Ribolla Gialla and Friulano grape varieties. Fresh, citrus-fruity aroma with hints of apple and pear, accompanied by a full-bodied, harmonious and pleasantly dry flavour. A refined interpretation of down-to-earthness with a beautiful arc of tension. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright olive green with straw yellow colour. Juicy citrus fruit on the nose, elderberry, juicy pink peach, rose petal, grapefruit, pomegranate, inviting. Fresh, juicy, clear on the palate, with well-defined fruit, full of tension and accessible, pure drinking pleasure." Falstaff
"Perfumed, elegant nose with citrus blossom and menthol, rich on the palate with candied fruit." Decanter
"This bright white features juicy pineapple, passion fruit and lychee notes accented by hints of grated ginger, ground cardamom, vanilla and white blossoms. Well-knit and lightly chalky in texture, with a focused, mineral-driven finish." Wine Spectator
"I like the undertones of crushed stone in the grapefruit and gooseberry flavours. It's bright, creamy and citrusy, with a medium body and a lively, zesty finish." James Suckling
"The Tunella 2022 Friuli Colli Orientali Biancosesto emphasises its modernist style with a very rich and creamy texture that comes from ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels. The blend consists of equal parts Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, and the fruit benefits from marl and sandstone soils that develop freshness and sweet concentration. This wine is complex and rich with ripe fruit, apricots and pears. It is a 360-degree expression with an extra dose of opulence to finish." Wine Advocate

Puer Apuliae (son of Apulia) is what the De Coratos call their elegant and outstanding quality wine made from 100% Nero di Troia. “L’Avvelenata” Freisa Marca Obertenga 2021 vivace
What would Piedmont be without its slightly sparkling red Freisa? Normally, the Piedmontese tend to enjoy these incredibly drinkywines themselves, so that there is hardly any relevant quantity left for export. On the nose, it has an animating aroma of rose petals, cinnamon and cherry, which is also reflected in the flavour. L'Avvenata is a rather slender red that is remotely reminiscent of a Nebbiolo. Its softer tannins and greater fruitiness make it a joyful and very lively companion for all occasions, even when slightly chilled at a young age. SUPERIORE.DE

Sangiovese di Toscana IGT 2022
Bright ruby red colour, typical of Sangiovese. Intense aroma of blackcurrants, cherries and Mediterranean scrub. On the palate, it immediately shows great freshness and minerality, good tannins and structure, a very long finish that shows that Sangiovese from the Montalcino region possesses wonderful elegance, complexity and depth even when aged in stainless steel. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, medium ruby red colour. Delicate and delicately scented on the nose of blueberries, violets and a touch of roasted coffee on the finish. Flattering and soft on entry, then with gripping tannins, subtly fruity and bitter on the finish." Falstaff
"The 2022 vintage has given the Toscana Sangiovese a darker and richer profile. Dried black cherries and autumnal spices combine with sage aromas. The wine shows a wonderful inner sweetness and ripe red and blue fruits, while a steely minerality defines the finish. It finishes with a tension on the palate that frames the experience well and leaves a tart blackberry note." Vinous

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2023
Uccelliera's Rosso di Montalcino slowly comes to life with a beguiling blend of mentholated herbs, pine shavings and dried strawberries. It glides over the palate with a texture of pure silk, caressing everything it touches with ripe red fruits and rosy flowers accompanied by a lively acidity. The final is structured, powerful and long - as always, it far exceeds its weight class and is a top-class Rosso di Montalcino. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2023 Rosso di Montalcino is remarkably pretty, captivating with exotic notes of wildflowers, blood orange and stone dust before transitioning into crushed black cherries. This wine is soft and round, but still shows its minerality up front, with a saline note emphasising the ripe wild berry fruit. It finishes with excellent length and gentle tannins that leave a concentration of red plums. It is an absolute pleasure to taste." Vinous

“Grave di Stecca” Vino Spumante 2016 brut
Grave di Stecca is Nino Franco's exposed single vineyard on the slopes of the Prealpi. The south-facing vineyard is planted exclusively with the Prosecco grape Glera. Brilliantly shiny white gold, gently emerging perlage, a bouquet of sage with a fresh fruit scent. Very pleasantly dry on the palate, silky and long - the undisputed great top growth of the renowned Prosecco forge. SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful bright lemon yellow with green accents. Distinctive aroma of delicate herbs (thyme), ripe pineapple and passion fruit, plus fine brioche notes and nut butter. Builds up richly, fills the entire palate, delicate and multi-layered in the drink, coherent, also complex and long-lasting in the finish." Falstaff
"Lush aromas of glazed apples and baked nectarines are well defined by a bright, lively acid structure in this elegant example. The texture is soft and creamy, with fragrant notes of lime zest, Earl Grey tea and graphite in the mid-palate and finish, with a hint of fleur de sel melting on the finish." Wine Spectator
"On the nose, a rich blend of cider apple, yuzu and hints of green tea and almond. Very fruity on the palate too, with a medium fizz and a tasty, spicy finish. Lots of character." James Suckling
"The 2016 Brut Grave di Stecca displays a brilliant golden colour in the glass, with a stunning bouquet of peach jam and sweetly spiced flowers, contrasted by wild herbs and crushed stone. The texture is creamy yet edgy, with zesty acidity that pinches the cheeks, but also an abundance of ripe fruit trees and floral scents that arch across the palate. It leaves a hint of ginger and a bitter hint of roasted hazelnuts, but the finish is one of cleansing freshness. The 2016 is not about power or fruit, but delicacy and graceful impact. I love it. Grave di Stecca is a single vineyard in the hills of Valdobbiadene with old Glera vines." Vinous
"Light and airy, this lovely sparkling wine has inviting aromas of ripe white stone fruit, spring flowers and baking spices. On the dry, foamy palate, elegant perlage and fresh acidity accompany ripe yellow apples, Bartlett pear, vanilla cake cream and a hint of white almond." Wine Enthusiast
"Grave di Stecca represents both the best of Prosecco – specifically Valdobbiadene – and the best of what is not ‘Prosecco’; the authorities refused to certify it as DOCG due to its atypical style, so to this day Nino Franco bottles it as a vino spumante in protest. The grapes are sourced from the walled Grave di Stecca vineyard, the site of the family residence, purchased by Franco in 1991. Super-aromatic and exotically scented, with passion fruit and ripe banana, in the mouth it’s very mineral and earthy, intense and rich but well sculpted. Tropical and spicy, it’s slightly creamy – almost mushroomy – with a lip-smacking saline finish. This wine can age well thanks to extended lees ageing of the base wines then long maturation in bottle before release." Decanter

Barbera d’Alba DOC 2022
Tantalising aromas of tart plums, boysenberries and wildflowers rise from the glass of this energetic and unique Barbera. The fleshy palate is fuelled by tart blue and black fruits, with a mix of spice and mouth-watering acidity on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense purple-red colour with a dark core. Inviting, fruit-accentuated bouquet, blackberries and blueberries, with a hint of violets and some cloves. Very soft and generous on the palate, firm tannins and a lingering, juicy finish." Falstaff
"An opulent style that combines a velvety texture with rich flavours of plum, black cherry, boysenberry and vanilla. Harmonious and lively, with a light touch of tannins on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2022 Barbera d'Alba is packed with ripe red cherry/plum fruit. Mocha, spice, cedar and leather add layers of nuance. This succulent, forward Barbera is an absolute delight." Vinous

Limitation of 12 articles per customer“Tavernetto” Pinot Nero dell' Oltrepò Pavese DOC 2020
The first 1,850 Pinot Noir vines were brought to Italy from Burgundy by Count Vistarino back in 1865. Since then, the vinification of this demanding grape variety has been continuously refined over the generations. Today, the Pinot Noirs from the winegrowing dynasty can even outshine much more expensive Pinot Noirs from Burgundy at international tastings.
Tavernetto is the third cru of the estate, named after the 1.71-hectare vineyard where the grapes develop splendidly at an altitude of 250 to 325 metres and with a south-southeast exposure. It is considered the most balanced of the Tenuta's vineyards, with the most evenly positive results. The calcareous subsoil of the single vineyard is ideal for Pinot Nero, resulting in a top wine of great personality.
Intense ruby-garnet colour. Fruity on the nose with elegant, fresh notes, yet the incipient depth and complexity of this Pinot Noir can already be sensed today. Full, round and fruity on the palate, the silky tannins flank its fine flavour through to the elegant finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A well-composed, textured and serious pinot nero with aromas of berries, warm herbs and mild spices. It’s medium-bodied with fine tannins. Refined texture here with control and poise and a flavorful finish." James Suckling
