The pioneer of Riesling on Italian soil is Aldo Vajra. Already fascinated by the variety as a student, he planted the first vines of the White Riesling variety in the Langa. The Nebbiolo grapes for Matteo's entry-level Barolo come from his three vineyards Serralunga d'Alba, La Morra and Verduno. Bright garnet red colour. Precisely balanced bouquet of wild berries, rose petals and beautiful herbal spice. Bright acidity on the palate, perfectly integrated tannins and beautifully emphasised primary fruit. The grapes for Carluccio "Carlo" Negri, named after the winery's authoritative pioneer, come from vineyards in the DOC and DOCG areas of Valtellina on the slopes of the Rhaetian Alps along the right bank of the Adda River. The sfursat, world-famous for the region, is produced by the natural drying of the grapes, favoured by the cool and dry winds from the mountains. In the "fruttaio", the fruit shed, they lose almost 30% of their weight during this process. The result is therefore a unique Nebbiolo: rich and intense, with the typical mineral and fresh character of Alpine wines.

Medium ruby red. Concentrated, complex bouquet with notes of ripe berry fruits, cyclamen and spices like black pepper and cinnamon. Dry on the palate, with beautiful dark primary fruit with firm tannins that are tart when young. Further on, full-bodied, persistent, with a long finish and subtle hints of cloves and liquorice. Harmonious, too, its fresh acidity, which will make it vibrant and exciting, especially after further years of ageing, one of the best wines of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE

Davide Rosso's Etna Bianco from Contrada Montedolce is an energetic, fresh white that impressively emphasises its volcanic character with its mineral salinity. The bouquet begins elegantly with Sicilian flavours of orange blossom and sweet almonds, then opens up with fresh lemon, crushed apples and a hint of wet stone. The Vino della Stella vineyard is located in the municipality of Lapio at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level. The soils are calcareous and clayey and have a north-eastern exposure. The particularly suitable soils and the cool, continental climate allow the Fiano to mature optimally while maintaining its proverbial freshness and refined and expressive elegance.

Corte del Lupo Bianco celebrated its debut with the 2017 vintage and is the successor to the classic Curtefranca Bianco, which has been popular for decades. The grapes come from 11 historic vineyards planted with Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco. They are well over 30 years old. Bright straw yellow in colour, with a fresh apricot aroma, fine woody notes and a structured, balanced flavour. Spicy and round on the palate, with a fine acidity and a mineral note on the finish. In 2012, the Pecchenino family started to invest in the small but fine sparkling wine DOCG Alta Langa. The altitudes and soil conditions are ideal for fresh and fragrant sparkling wines that are not only very rare but also highly sought after internationally. Psea is named after the small village of Pezzea, where the winery's Chardonnay and Pinot Nero sites are located.

The Chardonnay grapes for Lis Neris' Metodo Classico come from the historic Jurosa vineyard. After the first fermentation in 500-litre barrels, it matures for at least three years in the bottle on the fine lees and develops the nobility and elegance that immediately excited us. On the nose, notes of yeast, light stone fruit, limestone and minerals. In the mouth it is creamy and elegant, blessed with depth and at the same time great freshness, which one would wish for from many a French counterpart. Dom Jurosa is precise, cool and pleasantly dry in its overall appearance, which also makes it an excellent food companion. SUPERIORE.DE

The grapes for the new L'Aja Bruciata Vermentino Maremma from Rocca delle Macìe come from a single vineyard of 5 hectares on the Casamaria estate on soils with a sandy loam structure and quartz sandstone at an average altitude of 135 to 150 metres above sea level. The name L'Aja Bruciata is taken from an old cadastral map and is the old place name of this location from which the grapes come. Only 1,800 bottles were produced in the first 2021 vintage.

The marvellous richness and complexity of this exceptional Vermentino is the result of 6 months of development in cement on the lees with regular battonage, with part of the fine lees (approx. 5%) maturing in barrique barrels and finally a few months in the bottle.

Golden in the glass with notes of citrus fruit and ripe pear, fresh on the palate with an enormous density. The intense fruit flavours are perfectly complemented by the soft texture, with sweet honey notes and hints of white flowers on the finish. An incredibly complex Vermentino, the like of which there are not many on the market - an extremely successful project with which Andrea Zingarelli has opened a new chapter at Rocca delle Macíe and brought what is probably the first single-vineyard Vermentino into the bottle! Sparkling wine matured on the lees in bottle fermentation from 100% Nerello grapes from high altitudes on the southern slopes of Mount Etna. The vines are between 10 and 20 years old and are trained using the cordon system with spur pruning. They grow on sandy, volcanic, mineral-rich soils.

Fiano Pietraincatenata is the winery's flagship white wine and takes the grape variety to a whole new level.
