“Vigneto Grospoli” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Grospoli comes from the vineyard of the same name on old terraces, cultivated in the archaic form of the Lamolian Alberello. The sandy soils of the Chianti massif, the constant exposure to the wind and the pure light create the ideal conditions for a lyrical and enchanting wine. Bright ruby red colour. Impressive bouquet of violets and iris, overlapping with notes of small red and black berries, aromatic herbs and sweet spices. Powerful on the palate with excellent structure, its freshness and spiciness are also very stimulating and extend into the long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Inviting stone fruit aromas, spiced up with notes of liquorice and flowers; lively tannins, accentuated acidity, promising final. Should mature." Vinum
"A well-rounded, composed and flavorful red with aromas of dark cherries, wild herbs, bark and some exotic spices. It’s full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. Serious, with a voluptuous core of berries and herbs on the palate and a long, focused finish." James Suckling
"Rich and fleshy, this balanced red's cherry, plum, mineral and wild herb flavors are punctuated by dense, gripping tannins. All the components are there, this just needs a few years to integrate fully." Wine Spectator
"The organic Lamole di Lamole 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Grospoli comes from a special site with terraced vineyards near the highest reaches of the Lamole village at 540 to 580 meters in elevation. This vintage offers a lot of dark intensity, and the wine is carefully balanced, with ripe fruit, extra concentration (that really comes through in 2019) and velvety tannins. This is a lovely, well-executed wine with only 8,000 bottles available." Wine Advocate

Rosso Arcurìa Etna DOC 2020
Etna Rosso with a light ruby colour and a fine bouquet of raspberries, herbs, orange peel and flint. Firm, straightforward flavour. Mineral notes in keeping with the terroir. Silky tannins and a fresh finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Light red; fresh, red-fruity, raspberry jam, very inviting; red fruit already at the beginning, lots of tannin, subtly tart, very nice wine, long." Merum
"There's a slight hint of farmyard among the pure cherry fruit and orange peel aromas, while in the mouth it's intense and bright with a saline and balsamic character; vertical and sapid. Chalky tannins and fresh acidity provide structure to this sturdy, ageable red." Decanter
"A beautiful blend of red fruits and spices on the nose, along with a hint of tea. Medium to full-bodied with very fine tannins. Creamy. A beautiful depth of fruit carried effortlessly by the elegant tannin structure. Long lasting finish. Delicious. Best after 2025." James Suckling
"The Graci 2020 Etna Rosso Arcurìa is a very different wine to the Feudo di Mezzo. It has more fruit and a spicy character with blackcurrants, tea leaves, tobacco and perhaps a hint of exotic spices. The tannins are more pronounced here and the concentration of the wine is definitely a notch or two higher in terms of intensity. Contrada Arcurìa is located at an altitude of 650 metres above sea level. Only 5,300 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate
"Dusty and floral, the Etna Rosso Arcuria 2020 opens slowly with hints of chalk dust and sage that fade into violet pastilles and crushed blackberries. This is pure elegance, silky and refined, with a beautiful inner sweetness and cooling acidity that soothes and invigorates the palate. It finishes savoury and tannic with admirable length, with pretty inner flowers and a hint of bitterness slowly fading. It will take years for the Arcuria to come into its full bloom, but it will be time well spent." Vinous

“Coltassala” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Every year, Coltassala is a red wine that offers all the essentials - and in impeccable style. On the nose, black fruits, spices and ploughed earth. All the flavours are dark and spicy, but the wine remains fresh, dense, lively and very linear. The ageing in new oak gives it a modern touch without overpowering it. Coltassala 2020 is noble and refined from start to finish, and it is one of the great Chianti Classico Gran Selezione! SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby red with garnet-red rim brightening. Dense nose, characterised by wood ageing, lots of cigar box and tobacco, with fully ripe plums behind it. Lively and balanced on the palate, dark minerality, reminiscent of grated pencil, ripe tannins and a long, salty final." Falstaff
"A fresh, herbal yet earthy nose draws a slight sweetness from notable cherry undertones, accented on the palate by a creamy swirl of orange and vanilla, but the slightly metallic, medicinal herbal note works with polished tannins and lively acidity to create a streamlined, balanced feel." Wine Enthusiast
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Coltassala 2020 is a slender, elegant wine. Silky contours and sweet floral notes lend finesse to this very beautiful, nuanced Gran Selezione. All elements are very well balanced. Notes of black cherry, plum, liquorice and leather give it a dark note." Vinous
"Great energy, delicate violet and rose notes with intense ethereal fleshiness with fragrant red berries and cherries, fresh and flavoursome!" Decanter
"The Volpaia 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Coltassala is very balanced overall, offering an earthy side that gives a nice context to wild berries and wild cherries. There are also floral notes, especially violets and iris, and the wine maintains a firm, medium-bodied texture on the palate." Wine Advocate
"Saturated with aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, black cherry, iron and wild herbs, this red wine is firmly structured and shows fine harmony even in its youth. The supple texture is balanced by well-integrated, dusty tannins, while the fruit lingers on the long finish." Wine Spectator
"Very attractive with ripe cherries, red plums, dark chocolate and spices with a hint of dried lavender and citrus peel. Medium-bodied with plenty of energy and tension. The tannins are polished and well integrated into the wine. Very complete and balanced. Crisp and long." James Suckling
"Red cherry on the nose, myrtle notes, then hints of wild mint. Salty mouthfeel, with hints of red fruit and menthol. Aftertaste of great persistence." Luca Gardini

“Scarrone Vigna Vecchia” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2021 (BIO)
Complex aromas with notes of wild berries, chocolate and mint, plenty of power, fruit and fullness on the palate, spicy and opulent final. A Barbera that can and should mature. The small edition of this exquisite extract from just under 1.4 hectares of vineyard usually sells out in no time at all. SUPERIORE.DE
"A smooth, lively red wine with sweet spices centred around a core of plum, black cherry and blueberry. Smooth in texture, with a line of dusty tannins on the finish. Balanced, just needs time. Decant now." Wine Spectator
"Floral aromas with sandalwood to the character of black berries and black cherries. Medium-bodied with firm and racy tannins. A juicy and bright finish. 50% of the vineyards were planted in 1918." James Suckling
"As if staring into a purple void, this deep Barbera draws the attention immediately open with aromas of framboise liquor, dried violets and baking spice. Forward, fun and serious at the same time, the wine pops with tart cherry jam and wild herb flavors with vibrant acidity keeping the palate fresh." Wine Enthusiast
"The Barbera d'Alba Scarrone Vigna Vecchia 2021 is endowed with enormous depth and resonance. Black cherry, plum, smoke, liquorice and chocolate are all turned up to the max. The Vigna Vecchia is Vietti's most extracted Barbera. As such, it is also the one most clearly associated with the wines of the past. It is certainly a good performance, but it is not significantly better than the Scarrone." Vinous

“Montevetrano” Rosso Colli di Salerno IGT 2018
Silvia Imparato's noble Montevetrano is one of Riccardo Cotarella's first creations and certainly one of his most important to this day. Deep ruby red with violet reflections. Rich aromas of dark plums, blackcurrants, cedar, graphite and minerals on the captivating nose. Clean, fresh, juicy on the palate with an engaging, refined texture. There are liquorice and violet aromas on the long, graceful and layered finish. A very promising, still young Montevetrano with a great future! SUPERIORE.DE
"There’s a decidedly floral and spicy character to the 2018 Montevetrano (Colli di Salerno) that captivates the senses and pulls you close to the glass. Its fruit is more lifted and high-toned than usual, as blackberries mix with currants and crushed violets. A wave of stone dust and minerals translates directly from the nose to the palate, as its initially-silky textures are quickly firmed up by a core of strict acidity and grippy tannins that settle in toward the close. This is incredibly long but also achingly structured, currently holding back much of its fruit, and instead showing inner rose tones and hints of black tea. The 2018 will require a number of years to fully blossom; yet once it does, you can expect a very pretty and perfumed vintage of Montevetrano." Vinous
"A suave, full-bodied red, with plush tannins firming the rich blackberry coulis and blueberry fruit. It's layered and harmonious, with hints of bay leaf, graphite and mineral unfurling on the palate and through to the racy finish." Wine Spectator
"A red with plum and cherry character with hints of bark, mushroom and clove. It’s full-bodied with layers of fruit and a long, flavorful finish. Needs time to soften, but structured and beautiful. Such finesse with strength. Really impressive. Try after 2022." James Suckling

“Vicoregio 36” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019
Historically, the vineyards of Castello di Fonterutoli are located in the areas of three neighbouring municipalities of Chianti Classico: Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga and Radda in Chianti. With the 2017 vintage, the Mazzei family has for the first time vinified all three large vineyards separately as Chianti Classico Gran Selezione to reflect the diversity of the terroir: Castello di Fonterutoli, Vicoregio 36 and Badiòla.
Vicoregio 36 is the successor to the ambitious Mix 36 and, since 2017, a true Chianti Classico Gran Selezione. As a result of 50 years of research, 36 biotypes of the Sangiovese grape were planted on a sunny plateau near Castelnuova Berardenga, from which this extremely interesting and independent wine was created a few years ago. The overall impression is very balanced and straightforward with hints of red cherries, spices, dried blueberries and tobacco. It is the warmest and most balanced of the three Gran Selezione wines. Its intensity, richness of colour and precise fruit instantly captivate the Sangiovese lover. SUPERIORE.DE
"Raspberry-scented seducer with floral and herbal notes; flattering on the palate, silky tannin, embedded in fine acidity, ends long and fresh. Pleases with its elegance and no-frills style. Among the best cuts of Viennese beef cuisine." Vinum
"Bright ruby red. In the nose initially marked by rich noble wood, then after blood orange and fresh raspberries, pink roses in the finish. Compact and with clear fruit on the palate, shows itself polished and radiant, pithy, minimal afterdrying in the final." Falstaff
"Deep ruby red with orange reflections. Brooding and with the faintest suggestion of gingerbread and sweet oak. In this youthful state, the palate is similar to that of the Castello di Fonterutoli Gran Selezione of the same vintage, but this is slightly richer and with firmer, if polished, tannins. Enormous length. Monumental and far from finished." Jancis Robinson
"Mazzei's expression of the Vagliagli commune comes from a vineyard planted with 36 different Sangiovese biotypes, the result of 50 years of research. At an altitude of 350 metres, it is the lowest of the winery's three Gran Selezione sites and also the most expansive and supple. It leads with mocha, dried cherry and balsam wood and wears its oak well. The purity of the red berries shows on the palate with toasty flavours. This wine is full yet gracefully structured, with appetisingly integrated acidity." Decanter
"This classy red boasts a core of ripe, juicy plum, cherry and blackberry fruit framed by a subtle touch of new oak and a mineral underpinning. Reveals refined tannins, which should come into the fold over the next five to seven years as this integrates fully. Shows terrific balance and length, with finesse and complexity." Wine Spectator
"This is the third vintage in which this wine has the Gran Selezione designation. The fruit comes from an experimental vineyard at an altitude of 350 metres with compact clay soils (with some stones for loosening), good aeration and a dominant southern exposure. The property is 12.5 hectares and was acquired in 1997. Following the graceful 2018 vintage, the Mazzei 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Fonterutoli Vicoregio 36 shows medium-bodied concentration and sweet tannins with plenty of dark fruit, spice, scrub and wild mint." Wine Advocate
"A very straightforward and fine Chianti Classico with crisp cherry fruit and a hint of minerals. Medium body. Crisp and lively finish. Closed and dense on the mid palate." James Suckling

Contrada C (Chiappemacine) Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2019
Passopisciaro's Contrada C is an exquisite red with a dark sensual fruit bouquet. Stylistically like a great Pinot Noir or Nebbiolo, of remarkable intensity on the palate until the lingering final. A muscular and weightless wine at the same time. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright shining cherry red with ruby. Small strawberries, redcurrants, juniper berries, slightly loamy, leather spice and black tea on the nose. Builds up lively, with nice pressure, finely woven tannin, very finesse, nevertheless gripping in the back, tactile mineral notes, finishes on a fine salty character." Falstaff
"Scarce medium ruby red. Peppery nose of red fruits, cherry, rhubarb and raspberry with a spicy undertone and hints of oak and tobacco leaf. Wonderful depth and concentration on the palate, with a layer of fine-grained tannins. Real intensity on the finish. A cool climate spirit, despite its 15% alcohol." Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Contrada Chiappemacine (C) exudes a dark blend of black cherry and shaved cedar in a hint of ashy smoke. It is round and soothingly textured, with cooling acidity enlivening the mineral red berries and a hint of brown spice. The finish has a mentholated freshness, while the silty tannins linger, leaving the mouth wanting more. It will need minimal ageing to be at its best. The Chiappemacine site is at an altitude of 550 metres and consists of a thin layer of volcanic soils over a limestone bed." Vinous
"Fragrant spice and cedar notes waft from the glass of this graceful red wine, accentuating the finely knit flavours of pureed raspberry, rose and liquorice, matched by slightly chalky tannins that firm up the mineral finish." Wine Spectator
"The Vini Franchetti 2019 Contrada C shows a sweet side with wild cherry and raspberry. Those primary notes are framed by ashy volcanic notes, crushed stone and wildflower. You also get hints of grilled rosemary and dried lavender. Compared to the other single-vineyard wines in this series, Contrada C has a sweeter, slightly more accessible personality. But the tight tannins and streamlined fruit weight promise good aging potential." Wine Advocate
"Weightless, concentrated and delicious, with aromas of camphor, wild berries, rose and wet stone. The full-bodied palate offers crushed raspberries, wild strawberries, cinnamon and star anise before an almost salty finish. Supple tannins provide finesse and polished grip." Wine Enthusiast

“Vigna Feldmarschall von Fenner” Müller-Thurgau Alto Adige DOC 2021
The most famous Müller-Thurgau in Italy from a single vineyard at over 1,000 metres above sea level: sublimely sparkling straw yellow, very precise, clean aroma, a potpourri of tropical fruits, a little chamomile and a hint of nutmeg. Amazingly full-bodied on the palate with lots of juicy fruit. An elegant, extra-dry Müller Thurgau from the highest Müller Thurgau vineyard in Europe with an impressive complexity and length for this grape variety. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow, shiny. Great aroma on the nose, fine spice, rich yellow fruit, nutmeg, orange blossom, some pine needles, blood oranges and hazelnuts on the finish. Juicy on the palate, initially taut and elegantly flavoured, with fine salty notes, then breaks down slightly at the back." Falstaff
"The 2021 Feldmarschall von Fenner opens with a minty freshness, while savoury herbs and flint give way to yellow apples and cardamom. Skilfully balanced, it soothes with its supple textures, ripe orchard fruits and salty mineral tones, mixed with hints of lime and sour melon to show contrast. The 2021 rejuvenates with a pleasing length and crispness. The notes of lime and nectarine linger for a long time. This wine is simply stunning today and has the balance to evolve beautifully." Vinous
"This is a wonderfully flavoursome expression of Müller-Thurgau. It is full-bodied with hints of fennel and aniseed in the aromas and flavours of pear, peach and melon. Lively, tangy, fleshy and long." James Suckling
"Inviting white peach, citrus fruits and honey apples with plenty of mineral freshness, a lacy texture and a fine pearl of racy acidity. Fabulously long and concentrated." Decanter

Limitation of 3 articles per customerBarbaresco “Tulin” DOCG 2019
The Barbaresco Tulin is a convincing middle ground in Giorgio Pelissero's range. It has the richness normally found in his wines, but also a good dose of freshness. Floral and spicy nuances interweave with a core of red and purple berry fruit, giving it a striking inner flavour and energy. Tulin is an impressive wine that is characterised by its balance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Aromas of cherry and plum pie with sweet baking spices fill the glass as balsam, cedar and sandalwood emerge with more air. Rounded on the palate with juicy mixed berry preserves combined with licorice and turned earth finishing with fine tannins and a long roasted coffee bean note." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2019 Barbaresco Tulin is a dense, powerful wine that shows an abundance of dark red fruit, spice, mocha and blood orange. It has good depth, but the 2019 feels like it is still emerging. Present tannins give the Tulin a rather darker impression." Vinous
"An expressive Barbaresco with aromas and flavours of cherries, raspberries, flowers, liquorice and menthol. Rich and harmonious, with well-integrated tannins that support the entire wine. Balanced and with a long finish." Wine Spectator

Contrada R (Rampante) Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2019
Contrada Rampante grows on the highest vineyard of Passopisciaro. The soils have a higher sand content and the harvest takes place later here. On the nose, dark red cherries, flowers, mint and liquorice. Rampante is an elegant, energetic red with clear fruit and silky tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium ruby red. Brooding and hinted at ripe red fruits with iodine notes, oatmeal and still embryonic. Plenty of tannic raspberry fruit. Very long, juicy and energetic, tannic and perfumed. Big, long tannic bite on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Contrada Rampante (R) vintage exudes a dramatic but incredibly pretty bouquet of dried flowers, exotic spices, smoke and sour cherries. It is softly textured and refined, with bright acidity that further enlivens the tart red berries. It leaves a hint of minerality, along with fine tannins that only emerge at the very end, when the hints of sour citrus and inner rose tones fade. The Rampante vineyard is the highest site where Passopisciaro grows Nerello Mascalese, at 1,000 metres." Vinous
"Hints of eucalyptus and liquorice on the nose continue on the palate of this fresh red wine, which offers flavours of plump cherries and ripe currants, a mineral underpinning and a crisp framework of chalky tannins. It's enjoyable now, but should also show well with a short ageing period." Wine Spectator
"the Vini Franchetti 2019 Contrada R is characterized by plummy black fruit at its core and a richer, softer texture compared to some of the other single-vineyard wines in this series. It is tight and quite structured despite its luminous ruby shine and medium-light appearance. There are salty mineral notes on the close, even some crushed white pepper, to remind you of this spectacular volcanic landscape." Wine Advocate
"Smoky flint, dark spices, blue flowers and wild berries and a hint of hay come to the fore. The elegant, structured palate is racy and full of mineral tension, offering crushed raspberries, pomegranate, liquorice and ground cloves before an almost salty, mineral finish. Taut, refined tannins and fresh acidity provide the framework." Wine Enthusiast

“San Lorenzo” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020
Every year, the San Lorenzo is the result of the best grapes from the 4 classic Ama vineyards and only a few thousand bottles are sold in specialised shops and upmarket restaurants. Full bouquet of graphite, mint and black cherry. Lots of character and structure on the palate, with all the elegance that only the best Sangiovese bring to the glass. Distinctive tannins promise fantastic ageing potential! SUPERIORE.DE
"A very seductive San Lorenzo that comes across as powerful and incredibly complex. Tobacco, cinnamon and fine leather, cherries, blackberries and dark chocolate combine to create a
cool, stimulating flavour. Full-bodied and compact on the palate, smoky, with finely polished tannins, creamy but with a firm minerality, some dark chocolate and vanilla on the finish, needs maturity." Weinwisser"Intriguing aromas of raspberries, violets and pleasant spice; vibrant on the palate, the tannins are powerful and well integrated, the final is fruit-driven and extremely long. Always a reliable Gran Selezione from Marco Pallanti." Vinum
"Elegant, sparkling ruby colour with a thin, garnet-red rim. Delicate bouquet with earthy, smoky notes, plus fine cherry and wood spice. Pleasantly juicy on the palate, harmonious interplay of fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity, very long." Falstaff
"A fragrant blend of dusty Mediterranean vegetation ranges from tarragon and fennel to chamomile and lavender. Accents of spicy oak filter through to the palate, where a lush, cocoa-speckled plum melds with supple, velvety tannins. The acidity has a citrusy tang, and sneaky, salty minerals add an extra zest. This medium-bodied beauty is now graceful and engaging." Decanter
"The Castello di Ama 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione San Lorenzo, made from a selection of the best Sangiovese wines (with a touch of Merlot and Malvasia Nera) from different parcels, is edgy and dark with a continuous line of dark minerality and crushed rock. This dry mineral note forms a precise frame around dark fruit and oak spice. The wine has drying tannins and a long, polished finish." Wine Advocate
"A ripe style with flavours of plums, blackberries and pomegranates underpinned by iron, wild herbs and spice accents. Straightforward, despite the lush fruit, with a firm underpinning of tannins lining the long finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Castello di Ama San Lorenzo is fabulous. It offers an irresistible blend of blackberry, graphite, crushed rock, spice, lavender and black pepper, with a striking inner sweetness, superb mid-palate suppleness and balance, all in a medium-bodied style that will be approachable with minimal cellaring. San Lorenzo remains an archetype for contemporary Chianti Classico. Due to strict selection, production will be reduced by around 30% in 2020." Vinous

Brilliant ruby red, a fully ripe berry bouquet with warm spicy, mushroom and cocoa notes on the nose. Rich and juicy on the palate with sweet oak and lush fruit. Ravera Riserva ends with a firm finish that once again reveals ripe fruit and polished tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant, rich ruby garnet colour. Fragrant and inviting nose of fresh wild strawberries, violets and elderberries, with fine sweet spices on the finish. Polished on the palate with a remarkably juicy undertone, gripping tannins accompany the attack and finish, pithy finish." Falstaff
"Bright ruby red colour. Complex nose of cherry, iron and blood orange with a hint of oak. Juicy, lush fruit with grippy but fine tannins. Lots of juice and fruit, with long, subliminal tannins. Fantastic bite and juiciness on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"Very pleasant, fruity aromas of sweet wild strawberries and crushed raspberries are followed by a full-bodied palate with fine, firm tannins and plenty of fruit flavour that fades into a nutty, creamy aftertaste." James Suckling

“Ama” Chianti Classico DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM
Castello di Ama, one of the highest wineries in the Classico area, produces one of the best wines of its appellation every year with the Ama. The grapes come from the single vineyards Bellavista, Casuccia, San Lorenzo, Bertinga and Montebuoni. A fresh wine with youthful charm and aromas of cherry, plum and spicy notes. Complex, full-bodied and with fine-grained tannin on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"An expression of Castello di Ama’s young vines - 10 to 12 years old - Ama is aged in second passage barriques. The delightfully fruity and vibrant nose exudes rose and lavender, with oak notes in the background. Plump sweet fruit on the mid-palate speaks to the modest dollop of Merlot in the blend. The tannins are velvety and polished, and the acidity is refreshing. A citrussy tang brings this near-term charmer to a close." Decanter
"Fleshy and firm, with plum, cherry, iron and Tuscan scrub flavors. Reveals tannins, but is mouthwatering in the end." Wine Spectator
"Castello di Ama settles on a tried-and-true formula with its 2020 Chianti Classico Ama. The trick is to present the elegant side of Sangiovese (blended in this case with a touch of Merlot) while also remaining fun, accessible and easy-drinking. The 2020 vintage brings forth a bit more heat and fruit concentration, but it also shows delicate cassis, red rose and Mediterranean aromas. The tannins are gentle and the mouthfeel is streamlined." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Ama is a pretty, understated wine that shows the vivid side of Sangiovese in its bright, red-fleshed fruit. Medium bodied and vibrant, with brisk acids and lifted aromatics, the 2020 is a gorgeous wine to drink now and over the next 10-15 years. Ama is the estate's young-vines Chianti Classico. I loved it." Vinous
"Blue flower, sandalwood, cassis and spice shape the nose on this lovely red. All about finesse and youthful tension, the savory, elegantly structured palate features juicy Morello cherry, coffee bean and star anise framed in taut, fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced and focused." Wine Enthusiast
"A fresh and composed red with blackcurrant and blueberry aromas with minerals and citrus underneath. It's medium-bodied with fine tannins and a racy, long finish." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018
Here is one of the most classic Brunello of the 2018 vintage: the dose of primary fruit such as cherry and blackberry is marvellous and rich, flanked by well-dosed hints of oak, wild herbs, cinnamon and dark smoke. This Brunello maintains its high tempo from start to finish, it is generous, concentrated, firm and fleshy on the palate and leads into a multi-layered, phenomenal final. This red will unfold its full bloom over the next few years; it is undisputedly one of the greats of this vintage! SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium, warm red colour; certain ripeness and fruit, arouses curiosity; fruity, depth, sweetness, juicy, also caramel, delicately tart, long." Merum
"Bright, sparkling ruby red colour. Nose of hazelnuts, cinnamon, ripe cherries, a hint of fumé and barrel. Firm and compact on the palate, with a creamy fruit centre and fine fruit sweetness, embedded in currently still very robust tannins, still needs time." Falstaff
"The Uccelliera is produced from several parcels at different altitudes and exposures around the town of Castelnuovo dell'Abate. While the 2018 is slightly more restrained and less opulent than recent vintages, it remains true to its generous, intense style and will satisfy those looking for a savoury Brunello full of flavour. Woody notes of vanilla and charcoal dissolve into nutmeg, cinnamon and herbs. A hint of macerated fruit appears on the palate, underlined by sweet earth and tobacco. The rich tannins remain supple and enveloping, while a core of concentrated acidity keeps everything in check until a very spicy finish." Decanter
"This wine is creamy and open with delicious notes of sour cherries, plum stones, roasted nuts, mocha and sandalwood. Full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins that form a silky frame. Juicy finish." James Suckling
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino opens beautifully in the glass, gaining intensity and depth. It shows taut lines and a fleshy mouthfeel that favours plenty of layering and textural richness. This velvety quality is the enduring signature of this estate, which has achieved consistent results over the years." Wine Advocate
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is undeniably pretty and slightly exotic, exuding a multi-faceted bouquet of wild strawberries, fresh mint, balsamic herbs, cloves and a hint of sweet smoke. The Brunello di Montalcino is luxurious, silky and smooth, enveloping the palate with ripe forest fruits, while a tantalising inner sweetness and a hint of tobacco develop towards the end. Salty minerals give the wine an almost crisp finish, and although it is tannic, this in no way detracts from the graceful nature of the 2018, which is still energetic with notes of plum and liquorice. This is a spectacular Brunello of the vintage." Vinous
"Broad and dense, with flavours of plum, cherry, leather, tobacco and earth, underscored by assertive tannins that offer solid support on the lingering finish. It reveals hidden fruit, so give it some time to integrate better." Wine Spectator
"The nose showcases a spectrum of umami aromas, from soil to astringent fruit to balsamic, stone and wild herbs. The palate leans into the fruity notes, with pepper providing heat and a continued metallic quality providing structure. Tightly coiled tannins and buoyant acid accentuate haughty citrus overtones." Wine Enthusiast

Limitation of 12 articles per customer“Terra di Lavoro” Rosso Campania IGP 2020
Terra di Lavoro 2020 is still far too young to make a final judgement, but this much is already clear: with sufficient aeration, it will continue to develop rapidly and offer new beautiful impressions with every new sip. Notes of red berries, aromatic hints of fresh and balsamic undergrowth. Plump and full on the palate, with a very firm fruit centre and a wonderful correspondence with the beautifully layered bouquet. Its structure and all the aromatic components, its fine mineral vein and its present tannin profile indicate a wonderful ageing period. As it progresses through to the final, it already carries noble balsamic notes, a wonderful fruitiness and beautiful persistence. 2020 will be one of the really great Terra if it is given enough time for further refinement in the bottle! SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, rich ruby red colour. Ripe cassis on the nose, elegant undergrowth with fine resinous notes, then fine pepper spice, with dried rose petal and amarena cherry on the finish. Radiant and juicy on the palate, polished, opens up with elegant, albeit determined pressure, still young tannins on the finish, salty." Falstaff
"The 2020 Terra di Lavoro is a seductress, tempting the imagination with a cascade of sweet lavender and rose offset by crushed stone, savory spices, figs and plums. It sweeps across the palate with velvety textures yet remains lifted and spry, as zesty acidity breathes life into its core of tart wild berry fruits. Hints of blood orange add check-pinching tension toward the close. Tannic and nearly salty in character, the 2020 maintains amazing energy despite its power and concentration as a saturation of licorice and an almost smoky sensation lingers on. The 2020 shows the warmth of the vintage while maintaining a perfectly harmonious feel. I expect it will enjoy a long and broad drinking window. Bravo." Vinous
"Unique flavours of blackberry, black pepper, asphalt and volcanic ash. Full-bodied with depth of fruit and layers of fine tannins. This is a structured and serious red wine with so much seriousness and reality. Deep and real. Look at it in about four or five years. Try it after 2025." James Suckling

“Campo dei Gigli” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2017
The star from Tenuta Sant'Antonio: A rich dark ruby red, its bouquet of wild fruits, black pepper, tobacco and spices is a delight for the nose. Fruity and full-bodied, yet velvety and very sophisticated in its character - an austere, characterful and elegant Amarone, whose terrificfinish is accompanied by noble tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"It has distinct aromas of chocolate wheat and spiced plum crumble. Tart black fruits and balsamic freshness lurk in the mouth with streaks of tangy red fruits and dusty spices, supported by fine, grainy tannins. It's sweet and juicy and shows some chalky tautness on the palate, giving this big wine a desirable finesse." Decanter
"Ruby red with a tendency towards violet. The nose reveals clear notes of sour cherry, cherry, plum, blood orange and undergrowth, followed by floral notes of rose and violet. Gradually, spicy notes unfold. Full, juicy and fruity on the palate, with splendid tannins, finishing delicately bitter on the long finish." Falstaff
"The Tenuta Sant'Antonio Famiglia Castagnedi 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Campo dei Gigli reveals a very savory character with dried fruit, lots of plum and spicy back notes that transition to tarry smoke and barbecue. The wine is full-bodied and slightly evolved due to the hot vintage conditions." Wine Advocate
"Thick and rather syrupy dried black fruits face a wall of black pepper and toasted oak on the nose, which turns to liquorice on the palate. Any subtler, more complex character waits for now for the youthful fruit and oak to clear the main stage. And that can take some time. Nevertheless, this wine is already very pleasant to drink and will give pleasure for many years to come." James Suckling
"The 2017 Amarone della Valpolicella Campo dei Gigli is intense, like opening an ash stone to discover a wealth of dried black cherries, cinnamon sticks, incense and dried herbs. The texture is deep, with a balanced inner sweetness highlighted by vibrant acidity, while the depths of tart red fruits slowly saturate the palate with primary concentration. The 2017 finishes structured and dramatically long, making a case for further cellaring." Vinous

Barolo “Briccolina” DOCG 2016
This top Barolo comes from the enchanting Corda della Briccolina parcel in Serralunga d'Alba and is the only one of the estate's impressive Barolo range to be matured in barriques. Garnet red in colour with a beguiling aroma of rose petals, rock candy, caramel and dried fruit. Powerful, solemn on the palate, with present tannins and a long, harmonious finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Nose of black cherries and ripe raspberries. Great intensity on the palate, followed by firm tannins and a long, fresh finish." Decanter
"The Beni di Batasiolo 2016 Barolo Briccolina sources its fruit from Serralunga d'Alba, and you can count on more fruit weight and power as a result. This wine shows a dark garnet red colour with sweet cherry and blackberry nuances. These dark fruit tones are underlined by spices, earthy loam and grilled herbs." Wine Advocate
"Rich and smoky with lots of fruit and toasted oak, but not overdone. Full body, crisp tannins and a juicy finish." James Suckling
"Somewhat dried-vegetable and very slightly iodised aroma of red and black berries with distinct tar. Clear, firm, juicy, polished fruit, fine, youthful, yet present tannin, dried floral nuances, cocoa and a little tobacco, again also tar, persistent, good depth, also coffee in the background, multi-layered, has a certain elegance, very good, firm, again quite juicy finish with bacony and fine spicy nuances." “Firraru Family & Friends” Bianco Terre Siciliane IGT 2021 (BIO)
Firraru is Feudo Maccari's latest big hit: a small-production Grillo from black soils characterised by limestone, clay skeleton and an iron-rich matrix. Crystal clear yellow with golden reflections. Complex aroma of citrus fruits, fine flavours of vanilla and roasted cinnamon. Fresh and perfectly structured on the palate, with a fine tannin structure and an enveloping, very long flavour. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Firraru from Feudo Maccari is a single-varietal Grillo. Cool and racy, it is beautifully flavoured and produces plenty of juice and body with a differentiated depth. Firmly structured and long, this is probably one of the best Grillo." Weinwisser
"Bright light golden yellow colour. Intense aroma of yellow apple, grapefruit, acacia and orange blossom as well as vanilla and caramel on the nose. Structured and full-bodied on the palate, pleasantly spicy and beautifully melting, very powerful and long final on hazelnuts." Falstaff
"The smoky, tropical flavours are joined by a hint of herbs, and in the mouth the excellent acidity drives the fruit through a structured, full-bodied expression of the variety. Lemon, apricot and citrus peel are underscored by plenty of black pepper and a certain creaminess, leading to a long and savoury, spicy finish. Give it a few more months to allow the wood to integrate further." Decanter
"The 2021 Grillo Firraru is intense. A whiff of crushed rocks and sage gives way to freshly sliced nectarines and enriching hints of almond custard. Luxurious and nearly opulent on the palate, its ripe orchard fruits and silken textures are all kept in balance by a core of stimulating acidity. The 2021 cleans up beautifully through the finish with a crisp mineral tinge while suggestions of ground ginger create a spicy sensation. While I notice the oak treatment here, it is very well integrated." Vinous
"Lots of crushed oysters, dried flowers, flint and matches. Hints of vanilla. Full-bodied, but very energetic. Crunchy. Notes of liquorice and aniseed." James Suckling

“Badiòla” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020
Historically, the vineyards of Castello di Fonterutoli are located in the areas of three neighbouring municipalities of Chianti Classico: Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga and Radda in Chianti. With the 2017 vintage, the Mazzei family vinified all three large vineyards separately as Chianti Classico Gran Selezione for the first time in order to recognise the diversity of the terroir: Castello di Fonterutoli, Vicoregio 36 and Badiòla.
Badiòla is the historic name of a vineyard in the municipality of Radda, whose grapes have been vinified separately by the Mazzei family as a Gran Selezione since the 2017 vintage. Bright ruby-garnet colour, a restrained yet clear nose of wild berries, blue flowers, undergrowth and hints of dark pepper. On the palate, Badiòla is masterfully balanced, almost weightless. The very well-integrated tannins make it smooth from the first to the last glass and it impresses with its long finish - its elegance is magnificent! SUPERIORE.DE
"Already radiates finesse on the nose and confirms this not only with plenty of fruit, but also with subtle minerality, elegance and appears light-footed and multi-layered in comparison. In the final, the fine race, depth and tannin bite complete the terrificimpression." Weinwisser
"Bright, sparkling ruby red with a subtly brightening rim. Nose with elegant, earthy tones, beetroot, ripe cherry, wild berry fruit and black tea. On the palate with racy, fresh acidity and a red berry centre, plus a fine saltiness." Falstaff
"Spicy and chocolaty with ripe red and dark berries, rose petals and bark undertones. Medium to full-bodied with firm, racy tannins and crisp acidity. Lively fruit character and a linear finish." James Suckling
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Badiòla is a complex, wonderfully nuanced wine. White pepper, chalk, orange peel and orange zest are woven into a core of vibrant red cherry fruit. This nuanced, earthy Radda Gran Selezione from vineyards 550 metres above sea level has a lot to offer in 2020." Vinous
"Seductive blackberry nose, also lilac and balsamic notes; balanced on the palate, the tannins and acidity in perfect balance, finishes crisp on notes of fresh fruit, also pepper and maquis. Can still age. Convinces with its elegant, Burgundy-like style." Vinum
"This expressive red shows aromas and flavours of cherries, raspberries and flowers, supported by a lively acidity and refined tannins. Intense and resonant with a mineral aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"Oenological jewel from the Romanesque Pieve di Badiòla. Three Sangiovese clones, three from the mass selection, nose with notes of jammy berries, wild mint and gardenia, with iodine sensations. Salty and iodised on the palate, with a fruity-floral finish and great crispness." Luca Gardini

Contrada PC (PassoChianche) Terre Siciliane IGT 2020
The individual parcels (micro-locations) on Etna are called Contrade and the Contrada Passochianche (PC) is the Chardonnay Cru from the magic hand of Andrea Franchetti. As early as 2000, he had planted Chardonnay here at an altitude of about 900 metres with a high vine density. The 2018 vintage marked the debut of a wine that impressively reflects the sum of Franchetti's many years of experience on Etna. Like all Contrade wines, it has its very own personality and demonstrates very clearly how a grape variety gains its very own form of expression in different locations. Just 2,660 bottles of this fresh, characterful and salty-mineral Chardonnay were filled. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant light straw yellow with silver reflections. Opens with notes of flint, then fresh apple, pear and some capers. Good tension on the palate, very juicy, shows well-developed fruit, long finish." Falstaff
"Baked apples and pears, laced with white flowers, are complemented by hints of raw almond as the 2020 Bianco Contrada Passochianche (PC) blossoms in the glass. It’s elegant and silky in feel, with ripe melon and inner florals that cascade across the palate, as a core of minerality and hints of spice reveal themselves toward the close. The 2020 tapers off incredibly long with a bitter twang, as hints of young peach and inner herbal tones fade. The Passochianche is just a baby today, yet it’s packed full of potential. The balance here is unreal. It hails from high-elevation vines planted in deep, sandy volcanic soils." Vinous
"A single parcel chardonnay from Contrada Guardiola that delivers a poised and focused white with depth and intensity. Crushed lime and mineral. Some honeysuckle." James Suckling

“Il Poggio” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2018
In 1962, Il Poggio Gran Selezione was the first Chianti Classico from the appellation to be vinified and bottled as a single-vineyard wine (Cru) - a revolution at the time!
Sparkling, rich ruby-garnet colour. The wine exudes classic aromas of dark plum, menthol and liquorice, which will develop wonderfully over time. The palate has incredible energy, tension and vibrancy. Our tip: buy it, put it in the cellar and forget about it for a decade. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium red; fruit, macchia, depth, inviting; round, sweetness, deep fruit, long, juicy, very pleasing." (JLF) Merum
"Bright ruby red colour with light reflections. Great and inviting nose of wild strawberries, watermelon, wet stone, black bread, with a noble, light spicy note. Great fruit on the palate, paired with pleasant, present acidity, finely savoury, tightly woven tannins, with elegant pressure." Falstaff
"Il Poggio was the first Chianti Classico to be labelled a single vineyard in 1962. The 2018 vintage reveals high-toned aromas of sweet redcurrants, accompanied by a hint of lavender and laurel. It is full-bodied and youthfully gripping, with powerful tannins framing the lush raspberry and cranberry flavours and a hint of Mediterranean herbs that extend the long finish." Decanter
"The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna il Poggio is a medium-bodied wine that needs a few years to mellow the tannins. In this tasting, the 2018 shows itself to be a Poggio with a convincing aromatic presence, but perhaps a little less textural breadth than in its best years. Dried herbs, cedar, tobacco and scorched earth linger on the savoury finish. A few more years in the bottle should be enough. The understated side of Il Poggio comes through beautifully." Vinous
"The wine opens with flavours of dark fruits, light spices, grilled herbs and integrated tannins and closes with tart fruit and beautiful freshness." Wine Advocate
"A muscular red with flavours of iron, almonds, tar and undergrowth that add a spicy element to the core of cherry and blackberry fruit. Dense, dusty tannins and a mineral vein lend rigour, while this red wine proclaims "hands off" on the finish. Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino." Wine Spectator
"Lots of lavender and sage with flavours of lemon blossom and cherries. Medium-bodied with firm and fine tannins that are crisp rather than chewy. Needs time to mellow, but is already impressive and precise. A classicism that is rarely found in Italy." James Suckling
"On the nose, cranberries with hints of wild mint and nutmeg. The mouth is savoury, with a resurgence of fruity-mentholy notes and sweet spices. Excellent finish." Luca Gardini

“Abbazia di Rosazzo” Bianco Rosazzo DOCG 2019
Rich and refined top cuvée from the white grape varieties of Friuli. The bouquet of white flowers and yellow fruit has a pleasantly smoky note. Opulent flavours of yellow and white fruits, dried apricots and honey on the palate, the balanced acidity provides backbone and structure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling straw yellow with delicate nuances of green. Stone fruit, peach and some apricot on the nose, subtle flint notes and a hint of vanilla. Powerful on the palate, lively acidity, delicate phenolics, mouthwatering finish." Falstaff
"Clean and mineral, with a saline undertone and vibrant flavours of freshly sliced apples and pears, blanched almonds, almond blossom and a hint of ground white pepper. Fresh, chalky finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Abbazia di Rosazzo is more delicate and nuanced, with dusty dried flowers, crushed almonds and sweet smoke on the nose. It feels silky yet almost weightless and floats on the palate with a savoury mix of white stone fruits and inner flowers. It leaves a hint of minerality and finishes with a beautiful tension that leaves flinty notes of liquid stone and Bosc pear. The Abbazia di Rosazzo is an understated beauty." Vinous
"This wine has definitely moved into tertiary aroma territory. With a deep, off-gold color and orange highlights, the Livio Felluga 2019 Rosazzo Abbazia di Rosazzo shows aged tones of preserved lemon, candied orange peel, dried guava and sweet almond. Fermentation is in stainless steel, and the wine sees some aging in large oak casks. There are mild white-wine tannins and a hint of peppermint to close." Wine Advocate
"Fascinating aromas of ash, wet stones, dried apples, hints of honey and flint. Tar. Full-bodied with great density and energy. Framed and firm. Vine bark with mushrooms. Reserved. Old vines. 80 to 100 years old." James Suckling
