“Vigna dell’Impero 1935” Sangiovese Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC 2019
The Sangiovese grapes for this wine come from the vineyard of the Empire of His Royal Highness, the Count of Turin, Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy, who planted it in 1935. The soil is a mixture of clay and gravel, rich in marl and rock, which gives the grapes a spectacular minerality. The temperature fluctuations during the day play a decisive role in developing the finest flavours, which are elegant and complex. The wine, bottled in numbered bottles, is not filtered in order to preserve all the typical varietal notes and characteristics of Sangiovese. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, elegant ruby red colour. Opens on the nose with notes of oranges, juicy cherries, rose hips and wet pebbles. Rich in finesse on the palate, with a great structure, polished tannins and beautiful salinity, fine wood and spice, with a tobacco final." Falstaff
"Ripe, savoury cranberries, stones, baked grapefruit, dried herbs and some subtle sweet spices. Exciting and minerally on the palate with medium to full body, elastic, chalky tannins and a pure, almost ethereal finish. Impressive texture and savoury minerality give it definition." James Suckling
"Intriguing notes of red forest fruits, leather and tobacco; polished in the mouth, the acidity and the tightly woven tannins in balance, finishes long on notes of red berries. Pleasing with its elegant style." Vinum
"The nose intertwines delicately floral aromas with bright, tart fruit and a dense, savory earthiness. The palate is decisively fruit-forward, but undertones of coffee and dark chocolate maintain a feeling of versatility. A current of acid flows down a cobblestone path of polished, round tannins, before eventually pooling into a warm, luxurious finish." Wine Enthusiast
"Organic Sangiovese from stony and clayey soils. Multi-faceted bouquet of yellow fruits and raspberries, with a hint of orange peel, eucalyptus and balsamic notes in the background. Mouthfeel with velvety tannins: intense, persistent, balanced, spicy and mineral finish." Luca Gardini

“Vigna Rachtl” Sauvignon Bianco Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021
Sauvignon Bianco Rachtl comes from a small micro-location of just 0.4 hectares. It gets its fine flint and graphite nose from the porphyry soils near Unteraicha in the municipality of Völs. Very subtle on the palate with fine saline acidity, fresh fruit and a long-lasting finish. If you can call one of the 2,000 bottles of this vintage your own, you can count yourself lucky! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, pale straw yellow with a silver sheen. Intense and clear nose with notes of basil, lemon balm, green asparagus and some flint. Shows very good tension on the palate, emphasised salty components, green notes at the back, somewhat rough on the final." Falstaff
"Rich nose with notes of cooked lemons, sliced apples, savoury herbs and flowers. Medium-bodied with a creamy texture. Smooth and juicy with lively acidity. A well-made, multi-layered and complex Sauvignon Blanc." James Suckling
"A lovely, well-knit white wine, creamy but lively with vibrant acidity and a racy saline flavour, offering aromas of baked white peach, grapefruit zest, wild strawberry and fresh tarragon that spread out and linger on the long, supple finish." Wine Spectator
"Full of flavours of white peach and floral notes that pour over the juicy acidity of lemon peel and the glossy, silky texture. Wonderfully elegant and very long." Decanter

Vernaccia di Oristano Antico Gregori Riserva was not only named dessert wine of the year in Gambero Rosso 2021 (1976 vintage), but was also bottled in this 1979 vintage edition. As it was possible to bottle a little more this year than in other years, the usual assemblage of the best vintages of the last century was dispensed with this year. Nonetheless, or perhaps precisely because of this, it is, as always, a breathtaking wine that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of intensity, maturity and depth! SUPERIORE.DE
"Lots of nutty undertones with dried fruit, chocolate and aged orange peel aromas and flavors. Hints of dried mushrooms and a touch of volatility, just enough to enhance its character and add some brightness and tension to the dry and refined palate. Characterful and long. Impressive condition." James Suckling
"A unique Vernaccia di Oristano from a winery that has written its own history. A refined, everlasting method that starts from a base vintage and includes lots that are a hundred years old. Apricot in syrup, almond, turmeric and ginger on the nose. The flavour is salty, fruity, spicy and restrained." Luca Gardini

“Crosara” Merlot Veneto IGT 2017
Crosara Breganze 2017 is a textbook Merlot: full of ripe dark fruits, blackberry pie, liquorice, chocolate, toasted oak and grilled herbs. Offering superb inner sweetness, it is both powerful and elegant, with a lush, super-soft mouthfeel. Pleasingly, a wonderfully focused mineral component saves the wine from ever being overdone. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep nose with tapenade and olives on top of the minty blackberries, tar and black spices. Very compact and dense on the palate, with very firm tannins and fresh, medium acidity. A little tight and chewy, with a hint of bitter chocolate in the finish. Give it some time. Try in 2024." James Suckling
"The 2017 Crosara is deep and sweetly scented with violet and lavender perfumes giving way to black currants. This is textural and velvety in feel, with ripe red and black berries complemented by sweet spice and vibrant acidity. It tapers off long and floral with grippy tannins framing the expression nicely, and a twang of sour citrus perfectly completes the expression. The Crosara is a varietal Merlot from partially dried grapes." Vinous

Franciacorta “Vittorio Moretti” Riserva DOCG 2013 extra brut
Floral, structured and deep - the Riserva Franciacorta Extra Brut Vittorio Moretti, one of the absolute best spumante Italy has to offer. Juicy peaches, apricots, mint and flowers in the opulent bouquet. Very lively and pure on the palate with balanced notes from the oak. A warm, soft wine with great development potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow with light gold and persistent perlage. On the nose, fragrant and inviting of buttered pastries, honeycomb, candied citrus zest and noble salty, iodine tones, even white truffle, reverberating with cream and delicate bourbon vanilla. Noble and clear on the palate, stretches precisely over the tongue, with a magnificent course, round perlage and salty play, long final." Falstaff
"Chamomile, yellow-pear, citrus-zest and bread-crust aromas shape the nose on this blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Nero. On the elegantly structured, creamy palate, a refined perlage accompanies mature yellow apple, orange rind, walnut and vanilla. Fresh acidity brightens the rich flavors." Wine Enthusiast

“Vorberg” Weißburgunder Riserva Alto Adige Terlano DOC 2021 · MAGNUM
The rare Riserva Vorberg from Pinot Bianco is open, elegant and expressive. Brilliant straw yellow in colour with light green tones. Generous bouquet with delicately nuanced flavours of peach, apricot and spices. Cool, deep and with all the advantages of the grape variety on the palate. A noble Pinot Blanc with plenty of persistence and potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow, sparkling. Roasted hazelnuts and pine nuts on the nose, with fine resinous tones, then yellow fruit with hints of pear and sage on the finish. Hearty, pure, taut on the palate with racy acidity and well-integrated fruit, medium-bodied, round and fine on the finish." Falstaff
"Initially dominated by floral scents, camomile, jasmine, peach blossom. Then also quince, pear, candied pineapple, tart grapefruit. A melting palate, now clear fruit, juicy, spicy foundation, a little salty. Vertical style, focused in the centre of the mouth." Vinous
"An elegant, fine white wine with dense flavours of yellow plum, melon rind, chamomile and lemon wax. With a slightly chalky texture and mouth-watering acidity, it is long and supple, with grapefruit peel, ground pink pepper and mineral notes on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Restrained, with notes of white flowers and peach flavours, then to a palate of restrained oak, ripe melon and peach." Decanter
"The 2021 Pinot Bianco Riserva Vorberg is youthfully upright, with an airy mix of wild herbs and dried flowers that fade into young peaches and apricots. The palate is seamlessly silky and serene, almost oily, with a lively acidity to balance and a depth of ripe fruit and mineral tones to satiate. The balance is perfect, lightly tannic and full of tension with a lemony concentration that puckers the cheeks as minty herbal notes fade. Green apple notes add a crisp sensation towards the end. This fantastic interpretation of the Vorberg will thrive in a cool cellar." Vinous
"Vorberg is one of the world's great Pinot Blancs and opens with a fragrant aroma of ripe pear, green apple and a hint of almond. On the palate, it is lively with an interplay of citrus and stone fruit, carried by a refreshing acidity. The wine culminates in a structured finish that covers the whole range of cuisine." Wine Enthusiast
"Restrained apricot skins, fairly neutral yet stylish, but with a floral bouquet that opens up. The attack is full and impressively vibrant, almost electric, with filigree elegance and a silky, weighted palate. Long and polished. This is incredible. Drink now or cellar for more complexity." Limitation of 1 articles per customerBrunello di Montalcino “Gualto” Riserva DOCG 2016
Gualto 2016 not only reflects the extremely aristocratic exceptional vintage, but is also one of the best Riservas from 2016. On the nose, very clear and straightforward after cherry, herbs and crushed rock. Full and supple on the palate, its texture is elegant and fine, the tannins only come to the fore in the second step and are excellently balanced. This wine will only reveal its true greatness in a few years, but it already offers an extremely tasty and engaging character. For a Riserva, it has a surprising amount of fruit and an elegance that makes it one of the most charming representatives of its kind. This wine (no more than 4,000 bottles were bottled) should not be missing in any well-stocked wine cellar! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red. Hearty and inviting nose of juicy cherries and blood oranges, plus fine white pepper tones, dried tomato in the finish. Very juicy and very clear on the palate, showing fine melting and lots of juice, finesse and elegance on the long final." Falstaff
"The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gualto exudes an intense aroma of medicinal cherries, wild herbs and smoky gravel. It is pure and cool, yet offers a silky texture and luxurious ripe red fruits that balance the expression well. The Riserva Gualto is lightly structured, with balsamic herbs and a subtle pull of grippy tannins. Don't expect a big, tight Riserva here; the 2016 is all about charm." Vinous
"A rather soft and juicy Brunello with cherry, chocolate, walnut and bark characters. It is tasty and fresh and has a lot to offer. Very structured and polished. Lasts for minutes. Give it two to three years to develop." James Suckling
"Bella Riserva di Camigliano, which comes from a maturation of 24 months in medium oak barrels. The nose has beautiful notes of red blueberries, marjoram and floral notes of wild violets. The mouthfeel has salty tannins, density and a fruity floral finish." Luca Gardini
"The Camigliano 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gualto shows more precision and sharper lines compared to the 2017 wines tested here. This wine also shows a more vibrant and intact fruit character with immediate aromas of cherry, wild plum and rose. Overall, this production of 3,800 bottles shows a careful, delicate approach that suits this classic, slightly cooler vintage. This wine probably offers you the best value in this series of new releases." Wine Advocate
"With juicy aromas of cherry, raspberry, leather and spices, this red wine is supple and well structured. It features good balance and a finish that reflects the fruit while adding a mineral component. Fresh and long." Wine Spectator

“Troy” Chardonnay Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021
Troy is no ordinary Chardonnay. Rather, it is the archetype of a Chardonnay, as Wolfgang Klotz, managing director of what is probably the most successful winegrowers' cooperative in South Tyrol, sees it. The grapes come from two selected vineyards in Söll, near Tramin. The climate there is not only Mediterranean, but the vegetation is also characterised by rather cold downdraughts at night. Both factors guarantee optimal development of the plants and fruit. The berries are hand-picked one by one, so it is clear to any wine connoisseur that this is an absolutely prestigious project for the co-operative. It is therefore not surprising that only 3,000 bottles of this grape variety are sold in selected specialist shops and top restaurants.
Intense straw to golden yellow in colour. On the nose, tropical fruit, a hint of camomile and mint, then fine roasted notes and a subtle nutty flavour. On the palate, you can almost taste the proximity of the mountains, its clarity, freshness and intensity: exotic notes of ripe yellow fruit, then some nutty flavours and again a beguiling liveliness and minerality that ends in an equally long final. Chardonnay can be like this, chapeau! SUPERIORE.DE
"Fine toast, spice, lemon zest, pie crust and roasted pineapple aromas. Flavorful and concentrated on the palate, with a full body. This is quite textural, broad and long. A serious, substantial chardonnay that went through adequate wood cultivation for refinement." James Suckling

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Vigna Gittori” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020
The grapes for this remarkably Burgundian Gran Selezione come from the single vineyard of the same name in a 2.25-hectare Chianti Classico vineyard, which was planted in 1971 with a density of 3,400 vines per hectare and is south-facing on old terraces. Riecine has leased these plots since the 1980s, and in the 2019 debut vintage, the winery succeeded in acquiring this site, which is one of the best terroirs in the Chianti Classico region. The bottles are numbered and around 4,000 bottles and 50 magnums are bottled each year.
Spicy bouquet, delicate accents of vanilla and toasted bread, which combine with notes of cherry, strawberry and violet. Rich on the palate, with a solid structure and a long, polished final characterised by fruit, Mediterranean grass and a mineral note. Wonderful ageing potential! SUPERIORE.DE
"The second vintage of Riecine's Gran Selezione is of captivating beauty. The fragrance plays between fresh red berry fruit and fine floral notes, cranberries and blood oranges resonate on the palate, silky, brilliant, gentle and demanding in character at the same time, has a lot of freshness and great depth, fabulous elegance with a hint of candied lavender flowers on the finish. Great cinema." Weinwisser
"Brilliant, lively ruby red colour. On the nose, initially candle wax, then ripe cherries and forest fruits, reminiscent of ripe watermelon, with a second aftertaste of dark spices, some sealing wax and leather. Compact and tightly woven on the palate, polished on the tongue, very juicy and deep, with a clear fruit final." Falstaff
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2020 Vigna Gittori from the vineyards of Gaiole is aromatic, racy and very expressive. Crushed flowers, blood orange, white pepper and mint lend this medium-bodied, silky Gran Selezione a remarkable aromatic presence. The polished tannins round off the whole thing in style." Vinous
"The dense tannins of this red wine support flavours of cherry, raspberry, iron and eucalyptus. The lively acidity keeps it concentrated on the long-lasting finish. Still a little compact now, it should develop well over the next few years." Wine Spectator
"Presented in a handsome, redesigned bottle with a black wax capsule, the Riecine 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Gittori takes a different approach to the hot vintage. It offers flavours that feel anything but overripe and in fact evoke cooler elements of wild berries, peat moss, perfumed violets, flint, campfire ash and crushed white pepper. With this more restrained ripeness comes more spice and texture from oak ageing. This wine shows a beautiful elegance." Wine Advocate
"Such purity and beauty with aromas and flavours of roses, peaches, citrus and cherries. Medium-bodied, with ultra-fine tannins that run the length of the wine. Crisp and refined. It lasts for minutes. So drinkable and beautiful now, but it will improve." James Suckling
"The latest, juicy novelty of the house, from the vineyard of the same name and refined vinification and maturation. Very balsamic on the nose, black cherry under spirits, wild rosemary and hints of nutmeg. The sip is iodised, with a fruity return and spicy sensations." Luca Gardini

Barolo Ginestra “Pajana” DOCG 2019
Pajana - most modern wine of the entire Clerico range - presents itself closed, compressed and with great potential. Rich ruby with a light garnet rim. Compact nose, showing rich notes of blackberry, dark cherries, a little cinchona bark in the background. Explodes literally on the palate, lots of ripe, present fruit, then opens up with lots of fine-meshed tannin, salty depth, rich pressure. SUPERIORE.DE
"This Barolo features eloquent strawberry, cherry, currant and rose aromas and flavors. Gains depth from earth, wild herb and mineral accents, while the harmony and aftertaste are impressive. Resonates on the finish, remaining persistent and elegant." Wine Spectator
"The Pajana vineyard, planted between 1971 and 1991, is slightly lower than Ciabot Mentin and faces southeast. This 2019 is full of restraint: dill and liquorice are to the fore, then fresh violets and cherry with citrus freshness. It's firm and extracted, with powerful, dusty tannins and a refreshing acidity that balances the warming alcohol. It will develop well." Decanter
"The Domenico Clerico 2019 Barolo Ginestra Pajana shows a more open first impression with soft black fruits. The wine shows greater impact in terms of texture with firm structure and silky tannins. It is a little more open and approachable." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of raspberries, cherries and orange peel lead into a medium to full body, with firm and very fine tannins that are chewy but fine-grained. The acidity is also strong. Try it after 2027." James Suckling
"Notes of wild plums and rhubarb on the nose, a hint of mint from the Aosta Valley, nutmeg notes on the finish. Dense, compact mouthfeel, salty-spicy tannins, finishes with a fruity-mental aftertaste." Luca Gardini

“Selezione Sergio Zenato” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG 2018
A wine of remarkable aromatic complexity. Amarone aficionados know how many allusions these wines are capable of evoking, and it is not difficult to discern mushrooms, forest undergrowth, truffles, Havana leaves and even wild violets in this wine's aromatic profile, as well as the usual confit cherries and plums. In the mouth, the wine is remarkably concentrated yet elegant, carrying this bundle of allusions effortlessly and seamlessly through the palate. The fine pearly tannins give it support and the concentration of fruit is so great that the acidity almost fades into the background. A dense, polished and stately wine of the highest calibre. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, dark ruby red colour with a violet core. Very complex on the nose, dark cherry and plum, leather, cocoa and a hint of black tea, underlaid with bay leaf. Very dense and elegant on the palate with a great fruity centre and a beautiful melting texture, the tannins are grippy and end on a spicy note in the long final." Falstaff
"The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Sergio Zenato 2018 takes the finesse and airy vigour of the vintage and combines it with the opulence of the Zenato style. Sweet spices, incense, sugared cherries, cloves and mint form a seductive bouquet. The character is surprisingly feminine and juicy, with a core of tart forest fruits complemented by a hint of cedar and rosy flowers that develop towards the end. The 2018 finishes savoury and long, with just a hint of fine tannins and a pleasantly acidic sensation that tickles the cheeks." Vinous
"Flavours of baked black cherries, macerated strawberries, singed orange peel and medicinal herbs are concentrated and expressive in this rich red wine, nicely tamed by fine-grained tannins and fresh plum skin acidity. Long and fragrant, with notes of dried flowers, spices, cocoa powder and more dried herbs on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Dense garnet red in colour, with a nose of walnut shells, roasted black pepper, sour cherries and ash. Soft and supple on the palate, with a full body and ripe, silky tannins balanced by zesty acidity. Beautiful fruit with a very long, nutty aftertaste. Very attractive." James Suckling
"Rich fruit flavours of black cherry jam, black berries, tobacco, mint. Rich, elegant, fine, very delicate tannins, intense and long final." Decanter

“Contrada Sciaranuova Vecchie Vigne” Rosso Etna DOC 2017
Tasca got involved in Etna early on and the latest result of these years of experience are four new single vineyard wines from the Tascante estate: Contrada Rampante, Pianodario, Sciaranuova and Sciaranuova Vigna Vecchia (V.V.). The wines are delicate and profound, and despite their power, acidity and taut tannin, very elegant, finesse-rich and light-footed on the palate. Each of the four plots brings a slightly different style and personality to the wine - due to the altitude, soil composition and morphology of the historic lava flows. A high annual rainfall ensures that the soil has all the water it needs, and the temperature fluctuations between day and night support the aromatic diversity of the grapes and ultimately the ripening potential.
The Sciaranuova parcel is situated at an average altitude of 730 metres above sea level between the villages of Montelaguardia and Passopisciaro. It covers an area of about 4.9 hectares of vineyards. The soils are of volcanic origin and up to 40,000 years old. Within the Sciaranuova parcel is a small cru site whose vines were planted in 1961. The bottles, produced in very small quantities, are labelled "Vigna Vecchia". Compared to its "younger brother", this rare wine shows increased complexity, depth and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Just mid ruby. Great concentration of red fruit on the nose. Real depth. Red cherry with dark-earth notes and hints of white pepper. Very pure and focused red-fruit palate but not open by far. Gentle tannic structure framing the fruit. Nervy yet full cherry finish with coating tannins." Jancis Robinson
"A graceful red, with finely meshed flavors of raspberry puree and black cherry gliding across the palate. Delicate accents of ground white pepper, anise, sweet smoke and dried sage add depth, lingering prettily alongside the light, taut tannins on the creamy finish." Wine Spectator
"Made with fruit from old vines, the Tenuta Tascante 2017 Etna Rosso Contrada Sciaranuova V.V. is powerful and delicate at the same time, and it strikes a careful balance between these two opposing forces. This is one of the biggest compliments you can give to a wine from Etna, one of the most dramatic and violent winemaking panoramas on Earth. This lovely Nerello Mascalese shows aromas of cherry and wild rose with toasted nut, scorched earth and lavender essence. The concentration and staying power from those old vines add considerably to the depth, tannic power and complexity of this age-worthy bottle." Wine Advocate
"Bright, radiant ruby red with a gently lightening rim. Great, fragrant nose, of geranium blossoms, rose hips, oranges, some pomegranate, very red-fruity-fresh, with fine spices in the aftertaste. On the palate polished and with clear fruit, spreads gently and steadily growing over the tongue, pithy and clear, in the finish extremely finesse-rich and long." Falstaff
"Intense, ripe and textured, it displays a good concentration of fleshy red fruits with notes of liquorice, balsam, cocoa, leather and soft spices. Broad-shouldered and ageable, it finishes elegantly with a long, mineral tang." Decanter
"Wow. Such a beautiful, old-vine red with strawberry and cherry aromas, as well hints of hazelnuts and roses. It’s full, very creamy and polished. Extremely long and flavorful. Gorgeous wine all around." James Suckling

“Titolo” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
Elena Fucci's exceptional Titolo wine is already built for the long haul in its "basic version". It will continue its steady development for at least the next 20 years, which is why it is particularly enjoyable when aged in magnum format. Dark ruby red in colour, the bouquet has aromas of ripe red fruit and a fine woody spice. The wine is assembled with enormous precision, offering a balanced intensity and a beautiful degree of fruit purity that speaks both in favour of the Aglianico grape and the extreme region that produces it. Titolo impresses with its fine texture and elegantly integrated tannins. This is the kind of masterful Aglianico performance we love. SUPERIORE.DE
"On the nose, smoky, sanguine notes of graphite and cured meat are balanced by the fruitiness of cherries and red plums. The fruit notes headline the palate, but an undertone of chili jam leads into a resurgentally meaty finish, while acid bounces around contoured tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"The Aglianico del Vulture Titolo 2019 is stunning. It opens with an exotic flair that blends smoky plum and lavender with animal musk, ash stone and a hint of sour citrus that enlivens the senses. The palate is silky and supple, quickly gaining youthful tannic tension, but not before offering a taste of mentholated herbal tones and a depth of mineral dark fruit that will take centre stage after a few years of cellaring. The wine finishes incredibly long and structured, leaving a hint of primary concentration lingering under a hint of pretty inner flowers and savoury spice. I believe that the 2019 could one day be one of the best vintages ever produced by Elena Fucci's Titolo." Vinous

“San Leonardo” Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2018
San Leonardo is the flagship of the winery of the same name and one of the best red wines in Trentino every year. Opulent bouquet with nuances of dark fruit such as blackberry and sour cherry. Delicate spice, leather and tobacco notes give it a terrific complexity, which is then extended on the palate by a harmonious interplay of dark berries and plums, all flanked by clearly contoured tannins. A masterful red with a strong personality that will reach its true greatness after a few more years of bottle ageing and live up to its reputation. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, impenetrable ruby red colour. Cool nose of blackcurrant with a hint of red pepper. On the palate, juicy blackcurrant with the softest tannins, as if everything had been handled with kid gloves." Jancis Robinson
"A graceful red wine that begins quietly with a pure note of ripe blackcurrant and slowly expands on the palate to interweave flavours of bay leaf and smoked tobacco, bitter cherry, minerals, graphite and cigar box spice. The fine-meshed spectrum of flavours reveals supple tannins that define the elegant finish." Wine Spectator
"A mentholated freshness introduces the 2018 San Leonardo as it slowly blossoms in the glass. Swirling the glass, a depth of dusty sage and violet unfolds, fading into white pepper and blackcurrant. This wine is elegant, full-bodied and powerful. Sour citrus fruits highlight ripe wild berries and savoury spices. The 2018 leaves nothing out and finishes long and lightly structured, with a framework of fine tannins that gently tug at the senses as blackberry and rose notes slowly fade away. The 2018 is an understated and youthful beauty that should be left in the cellar for a few more years. That means hands off, because the best is yet to come." Vinous
"The latest edition of this outstanding northern Italian red wine offers complex aromas of tobacco, spice, earth and rich, wood-soaked black berries. In the mouth, it combines intense concentration with freshness in a vertical sense of balance and savouriness. Dark, plummy, spicy hedgerow berries are perfectly balanced by bright, savoury acidity and ripe, grainy tannins, with spicy cedar, dried currants and a hint of balsamic depth. It still has so much to offer." Decanter
"The 2018 San Leonardo from a cool vintage is incredibly fine and beautiful, with a filigree of flavours reminiscent of wild blackberries, tobacco, pressed rosemary, cherry tart and orange marmalade. The elegance of the wine is exceptional, the mouthfeel very fine and precise. This classic vintage will certainly appeal to San Leonardo purists. I recommend giving it a long maturation period." Wine Advocate
"Perhaps the only Bordeaux from Trentino capable of evolving to emerge with personality even today, in a vintage of grace. Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère and Merlot. Jammy cherries, undergrowth, juniper and rhubarb, dense and savoury, crisp and compact mouthfeel, wonderfully persistent finish." Luca Gardini

“Oratorio di San Lorenzo” Carménère Riserva Colli Berici DOC 2018
The small location near the church of San Lorenzo is a small valley surrounded by unspoilt nature - a mystical place where monks lived for centuries. The microclimate in this area is unique. The vineyard benefits from the influence of the surrounding forest, which, in addition to supplying silty-clay nutrients, ensures important temperature fluctuations, so that it is often very hot during the day and very cool in the evening.
These unique conditions allow the fruit to ripen optimally and give off generous layers of black, plummy flavours, blackberries and blackcurrants. The wine is immediately soft and generous in texture and spans a wide range of ripe red and blue fruits without losing any of its energy. The long and colourful final with its superbly integrated acidity leaves the mouth watering, while sweet tannins, black raspberry and inner flowers linger for a long time. A truly great wine - powerful and enigmatic at the same time. The production is 5,000 bottles. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep ruby red colour with a dark core. Opens on the nose with notes of mint and eucalyptus, some cardamom, then a fine aroma of blackberries, plums and sweet tobacco. Powerful, fresh and juicy on the palate, unfolds with present, dense tannins, spans a wide arc, savoury, long finish." Falstaff
"It comes from the south-east and south-west facing plots of the 12-hectare Carmenere vineyard and is only produced in the best vintages. Notes of pepper, violets and smoke emerge from the creamy, dark fruity body. It is dense and compact, a fine wine that is not overly concentrated and offers beautiful violet-coloured fruit with floral nuances." Decanter
"The 2018 Oratorio di San Lorenzo Riserva is restrained but wonderfully floral, almost dusty, with peppery strawberry and rose accompanied by a hint of sweet spice. It is silky and pure in style with a pretty inner sweetness complicated by a core of vibrant acidity, while perfumed inner flowers and depths of dark red fruit settle on the senses. The wine is well-structured, with sweet tannins and a long finish that leaves hints of tart forest fruits and savoury spice, fading slowly. Although quite fine, its underlying power promises long and consistent ageing." Vinous
"Superb intensity with a classic nose of sandalwood and chilli chocolate, along with racy redcurrants and olives. Medium to full body with juicy and silky tannins that linger with the fruit on the long, delicious finish. Lots of polish." James Suckling
"The Inama 2018 Colli Berici Carmenere Riserva Oratorio di San Lorenzo shows a lot of freshness with menthol and herbal nuances, without the mouthfeel being too heavy. The risk with Carménère is that it can sometimes taste green, but this beautiful wine transforms these flavours into a very Mediterranean bouquet with persistent softness and texture." Wine Advocate

“Titolo” Aglianico del Vulture DOC 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
Elena Fucci's exceptional wine Titolo is already built for the long haul in the "basic variant". It will continue its steady development for at least the next 20 years, so it is a joy to drink at a mature age, especially in magnum format. Dark ruby red, on the nose aromas of ripe red fruits and a fine wood spice. Put together with enormous precision, the wine offers a balanced intensity and a nice level of fruit purity that speaks both for the Aglianico grape and the extreme territory that produces it. Titolo convinces with its fine texture and elegantly integrated tannins. This is a masterful Aglianico performance, just the way we love it. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, dark ruby garnet. Fragrant nose of dried rose, ripe strawberries, a hint of vanilla, honey in the aftertaste, inviting bouquet. Opens softly on the palate with polished tannin, clear red fruit, stretches finely and elegantly over the tongue, compact tannin presses gently on the palate in the finish." Falstaff
"There's no mistaking the masses of pure, mineral-laden, musky Aglianico del Vulture fruit that wafts up from the 2018 Titolo. It's dark, with violet florals and smoke smoldering in the glass. The silky and pliant textures within wash a polished wave of mineral-tinged black fruits and savory exotic spices across the palate with ease, propelled by zesty acidity. Grippy tannins emerge, yet the mouth waters as a salty flourish lingers, along with hints of licorice and lavender. The 2018 won't be the longest-lived vintage of Titolo, but this beauty will excel easily through medium-term cellaring." Vinous
"Plush aromas of violet, juniper, cherry and bramble berry burst on the nose. Medium in weight, there's a driven, ample feel to the juicy red-cherry and blackberry flavors, with bits of tar and pressed rose arising on the midpalate. Yet, throughout the whole experience, bouncy berry fruit and zesty crushed mineral tones remain constant." Wine Enthusiast

Brunello di Montalcino “Vigna gli Angeli” Riserva DOCG 2018
Brunello di Montalcino Gli Angeli Riserva 2018 is stunningly beautiful. Its seductive presentation beguiles with rich dark fruits, sweet mint, spice and a grounding hint of floral undergrowth. Its textures are seamless, gliding over a core of fresh, bright acids that flank its black cherry and redcurrant flavours. Notes of liquorice, tobacco and sweet herbs linger long over a gentle layer of fine tannin. It has a juiciness, finesse and structure that will give it a long life. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense, serious, finely characterised bouquet. Juicy palate, intense, polished tannins, supple, very stylish, coherent Riserva, polished, cherry, floral notes." Weinwisser
"Needs a little time to get going, then notes of cherry blossom and leather beguile; elegant structure with perfectly integrated acidity, tightly woven tannins, multi-layered finish with flavours of dried flowers, berries and truffles." Vinum
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gli Angeli is dark and rich with a bouquet of plum sauce, Baker's chocolate and sweet sage. It feels seamlessly silky, with a plush wave of ripe red and darker black fruits swirling over a core of savoury minerals and exotic spices. A hint of spiced orange adds a pleasant tension, while a bitter bite of tannins lingers." Vinous
"The La Gerla 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva gli Angeli shows warm vintage characteristics with baked fruit and plums. These impressions of ripe fruit blend well with the medium-bodied texture of the wine. Only 3,775 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate
"This red is rich and generous for the vintage, offering flavours of cherry, plum and rose with light accents of earth and dusty herbs. Light tannins and lively acidity support it, and it finishes gracefully." Wine Spectator
"Subtle aromas of red cherries, pepper, leather and cocoa powder wrapped in fresh violets. Firm attack with extracted, chalky tannins infused with cherries, full body and refreshing acidity. Spicy, fruity finish." James Suckling

Translucent purple colour with a fresh, garnet-red rim. The bouquet is a potpourri of dried fruit, truffles, dark chocolate and delicate nougat notes. Opens on the palate with a fruity, velvety flavour and will continue to delight for many years to come with its straightforwardness and wonderfully integrated acidity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Straight, medium ruby red colour. Mineral and stony notes over slumbering raspberry fruit. Embryonic fruit on the palate with a firm core of tannins. Elegant yet with a certain power." Jancis Robinson
"Incense, warm spices and liquorice roots dance with savoury and dried roses, forcing you to look twice at this Barbaresco. High-toned red berry fruit plays a supporting role to the seductive savoury and spice flavours that add a mysterious accent. The fullness of the mouth reveals macerated black cherries, crushed pepper, crushed bay leaf and dried porcini mushrooms. The initially assertive tannins soften and emphasise the elegance of the wine." Wine Enthusiast
"With notes of macerated cherries and kirsch, this exuberant red wine offers an abundance of red fruits, rosehips, eucalyptus and light tar flavours. It firms up nicely and leaves a chalky feel on the long finish. It offers a refined texture, with great harmony and intensity." Wine Spectator
"The Sottimano 2021 Barbaresco Fausoni delivers more oomph and texture thanks to clay and sandy soils that definitely make the difference. In terms of aromas, this wine is quite floral and delicate with citrusy oils, dates, tamarind and lavender. The tannins are elegant and chalky." Wine Advocate
"The Barbaresco Fausoni 2021 is a wine for those who appreciate the more straightforward, old-school Nebbiolo style. Chalk, white pepper, mint, tobacco, cedar, blood orange and sweet red cherry fruit race across the palate. The 2021 won't be ready anytime soon, but it's an absolutely outstanding wine in the making." Vinous

“Colonia” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2018
When you hear the story of the effort that went into the Colonia vineyard, you have to wonder if the fine people of Fèlsina are absolutely crazy. It took them two years to remove the imposing rock that had forced previous generations of the Poggiali family to virtually abandon this noble site. But it is thanks to the ambitious Giovanni Poggiali that this spectacular vineyard (Vigneto Colonia) became what it is today. It has reddish-brown soils, is rich in magnesium and iron, and is thus quite different from all other Fèlsina sites.
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Colonia is a wine of enormous beauty and depth. Dark ruby in the glass, it smells expressively mineral and pure, with aromas of dark cherry and blackcurrant. Mineral and graphite aromas and the simply terrific focus on the Sangiovese grape make it an incomparable masterpiece. On the palate, it is extremely well-balanced and elegant with optimally integrated wood - it is immediately clear that another top wine of the house has been created that is more than a match for the Fontalloro. Fortunately for those who can taste it, there are only 3,000 bottles per vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"Superb bouquet with notes of raspberries, rose hips, also sandalwood; juicy on the palate, with powdery tannin, perfectly integrated acidity, shows depth and style into the jam finish. Great wine that can age for some more time." Vinum
"Sparkling, rich ruby red. Very intense and clearly marked nose, full of wild raspberries and blackberries, behind it cardamom, exciting. Substantial and dense in attack and course, opens up in lots of pithy tannin, rich, dark berry fruit, in the final emphatically earthy notes, after red beet and cocoa." Falstaff
"Lustrous ruby with orange tinges. Gorgeous nose of sour cherry and blackberry with blood-orange hints and notes of new oak all perfectly tied together. Focused and a little vibrant on the palate, elegant and succulent with long, coating tannins. Transparent finish." Jancis Robinson
"Sweet berries and dried flowers on the nose with sage and lavender. Medium-to full-bodied with chewy tannins, yet these are polished and intense. Very structured and solid. Needs cellar time. Try after 2023." James Suckling
"I prefer this wine to Fèlsina's top-shelf Fontalloro. The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Colonia is irresistibly angular and tight, opening a profound view onto what makes Sangiovese so expressive and unique, especially when planted in the right territories. The bouquet is savory and almost sanguine with iron ore, rusty nail and baked clay. But there's plenty of fruit as well, in the form of wild berry and black cherry, that adds to the dimension and dynamic freshness of the mouthfeel. Give this wine time to soften in the bottle." Wine Advocate
"The 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Colonia is fascinating to taste next to the Rancia, as the two parcels are adjacent. Rich and substantial in the glass, Colonia is textured and ample, qualities that become increasingly apparent over time. Rugged, rocky terrain seems to amplify power, explosive verticality and acidity." Vinous

“Maternigo” Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva DOCG 2016
Maternigo means "mother's land" and is also the name of one of the Tedeschi family's vineyards. The vineyards cover around 33 hectares in two municipalities, Tregnago and Mezzane di Sotto. The new Cru-Amarone Riserva Maternigo is only produced in the best years and its grapes come exclusively from the Barila vineyard. This single vineyard was selected after careful zoning and characterisation of the soil, which is characterised by very low vigour and consequently produces grapes rich in structure.
This gives it its own complex and aromatic character, which is characterised by a high concentration of natural aromatic components in the grapes. This complexity creates an intense bouquet of red fruits and Mediterranean flowers. These notes are echoed on the palate, along with subtle hints of eucalyptus, which give the wine freshness and at the same time hints of sweet spices. The impressive result is an elegant wine with great structure and exciting development potential - and an unmistakable sensory experience. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright, rich ruby red colour. Noble and clear on the nose, of ripe, rich cherries, red peach, rosehips and wild berry mousse, with fine spicy components on the finish. Full-bodied and dense on the palate, opens rich and with dark berry fruit components, juicy tannin envelops the fine melting, ends long in the final with fine pressure on elderberry syrup." Falstaff
"The 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Maternigo is ashy and intense, with tobacco giving way to peppery herbs, dried cherries and dark chocolate. It feels velvety-smooth and glycerin-like, with a dense wave of ripe red fruit and sweet spice carried by salty minerals and vibrant acids. It leaves a hint of rich sweet fruit along with violet and lavender tones as it finishes lightly textured. The 2016 took some time to develop in the glass, but it really shows the magic of the vintage. Bravo." Vinous
"Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella from the Barila vineyard, grape harvest, followed by long fermentation and maceration, then 48 months in Slavonian oak, a wine with a beautiful olfactory impact, notes of blackcurrant, nuances of wild mint and nutmeg, spicy attack, spicy finish." Luca Gardini
"This wine exemplifies the unique world that Amarone lives in as a wine. It is both very powerful and elegant at the same time. The nose is reserved at first, showing a mixture of black currant, plum and raspberry. The wine then shifts gears highlighting the bitter-chocolate notes and chalky minerality that come from this unique single vineyard, Barila. The bottling has firm tannins and vibrant acidity, giving the wine seriousness and demanding it be lost in the cellar for some time." Wine Enthusiast
"It's very restrained on the nose, with a dense package of baked red cherry flavours and a bright mineral, almost wet stone character. Mediterranean herbs too. Full-bodied palate that is back under control, but there is a dense package of firm, fine tannins, dried fruit and spice waiting to burst out. It's hard to believe this wine is only 17% alcohol, it's so well constructed. It will be superb in a year or two and beyond if you can resist the temptation now. Best from 2023 onwards." James Suckling
"Spicy, woody black cherry, blueberry jam and coffee scents are joined by deep, rich, earthy and almost-jammy flavours, with cocoa and damson. Round and extremely fresh with a persistent finish, this is by no means a shrinking violet yet has the balance to match its considerable concentration and heft." Decanter

“Argentiera” Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2021
Full-bodied, noble cuvée from the winery of the same name: aromas of red fruits, a light hint of roasted coffee, juniper, pepper and animal notes, an excellent tannin structure and a beautiful acidity give the "Bordeaux from Bolgheri" its exceptional independence and great elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"The grapes come from the estate's highest vineyards. Elegant bouquet with spicy and ethereal-balsamic notes, paired with ripe dark berry fruit and fine tobacco notes. Extremely juicy and nuanced on the palate, carried by a mineral-spicy vein, elegant with a silky texture, the most elegant version of this wine to date." Weinwisser
"Outstanding blend of Cabernet and Merlot with a nose of blueberry nougat, also liquorice; perfectly balanced in the mouth, beautiful progression, flattering nuances of blackberry confit, herbs and vanilla on the lingering finish." Vinum
"Sparkling ruby colour with a dark core. Opens with pronounced spicy notes of macchia bushes, cardamom, then lots of dark berry fruit and tobacco. Round and polished in attack and finish, precisely crafted, fine-meshed tannins carry the wine, firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"The Bolgheri Superiore Argentiera 2021 is a noble, sophisticated red wine. Crushed flowers, mocha and cinnamon meld with a core of red-coloured fruit. Aromatic and light-footed, the 2021 Bolgheri offers plenty of richness, but in a restrained, lively style that is very appealing." Vinous
"This 2021 is a big wine, packed with textural mass and powerful, sticky black fruits with some sous bois and mint flavours. The ample tannins are well rounded and the overall impression is that this is a quality wine that is still very youthful and needs time to blossom." Decanter
"The Bolgheri Superiore Argentiera 2021 is quite dense and rich, clearly showing the bold intensity of the vintage. The bouquet offers blackberry liqueur and syrupy black cherry with spicy notes. The tannins are mostly full-bodied, with a hint of bitterness that has yet to settle." Wine Advocate
"A wonderfully fresh young wine with raspberries, blackcurrants, violets and lavender. Minerality. More blue fruits than in the past. Very racy and fine with a medium to full body and flavours of blue fruits such as raspberry and blueberry. The tannins show beautiful harmony and precision. Vertical with energy." James Suckling

“Grattamacco” Rosso Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2020 (BIO)
Bright, rich ruby red colour. Fine, elegant bouquet with fruity aromas, notes of coffee and complex spice flavours. The flavour is long-lasting, the acidity in perfect balance with the tannins and body. A wine with great tension and personality, suitable for long ageing, but also a delight in its youth. SUPERIORE.DE
"Wonderfully multi-layered, rather cool bouquet with the mineral notes that are often perceived here, reminiscent of iron, very distinguished, noble fruit with à point ripe wild berry flavours, noble cherries, cassis and cranberries. Fine and elegant on the palate, very precisely contoured, super elaborate tannins that cling almost perfectly to the body like a tailor-made dress, linear with a fine-radiant acid freshness that penetrates the palate. This is mega! This puts Grattamacco right up there with the region's superstars and secures it a permanent place on the podium." Weinwisser
"Elegant and straightforward in profile, this red wine offers aromas and flavours of cherries, blackcurrants, minerals, earth and Mediterranean scrub. There's fine tension and freshness, with a long, resonant aftertaste. Needs time." Wine Spectator
"Timeless blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese: Plump bouquet of blueberry jam and leather; juicy on the palate, the acidity and crumbly tannins in harmony, soft and supple and yet with substance the fruity-balsamic finish, also mineral nuances. A classic that also impresses in this vintage." Vinum
"Aromatic nose of blackcurrants, berries and cherries, along with a hint of flowers and gentle oak. Full-bodied with a very pure and intense fruit that runs through the slightly firm tannins and gives a long, only slightly rubbing finish. From organically grown grapes. An elegant, well-structured blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Drinkable now, but better from 2024." James Suckling
"Restrained cassis and Mediterranean herb scents are allied to fresher red fruits and a floral touch. It's very well composed, demonstrating an elegant and juicy style with great integration of oak and youthful, chewy fruit. A Bolgheri to wait for – this is intended for the long haul." Decanter
"The 2020 tastes balanced and long with even more tannin structure to hold it firmly together. This is an iconic blend." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Grattamacco is an outstanding wine, dark, lively and nuanced to the core. Black fruits, lavender, spices, leather, menthol and dried herbs give the 2020 plenty of character and complexity. The 2020 is deep, but also wonderfully translucent and one of the finest Grattamaccos I can remember tasting. It has incredible depth and resonance, not to mention a lot of personality." Vinous
"One of the highlights of Bolgheri, from a now mythological vineyard. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Blackberries on the nose, menthol, pink pepper and citrus notes on the finish. Taut on the palate with tannins that are balanced by a fresh, savoury component. Fruity finish, depth." Luca Gardini

“Perlé Nero” Metodo Classico Trento DOC 2016 extra brut · in gift box
A proud, pure Pinot Nero vintage sparkling wine: strong golden yellow colour, fine, elegant, wonderfully long-lasting perlage. Inviting bouquet of fresh stone fruit, delicate hints of baked goods and blossom honey, plus a hint of citrus. Good complexity on the palate, charming fruit and a hint of roasted flavour. Dry and wonderfully long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intense straw yellow with a golden shimmer, fine, persistent mousseux. Elegantly restrained on the nose, reminiscent of sea breeze, some peach and lemon, followed by crusty bread. Structured and racy on the palate, pleasantly creamy, vibrant acidity, animating, salty finish, good length." Falstaff
"This graceful sparkler is round and plushly creamy on the palate, offering a bright backbone of citrusy acidity and a streak of salinity meshed with flavors of baked white cherry and toasted almond, plus hints of glazed tangerine and lemon thyme." Wine Spectator
"100% Pinot Noir aged for six years on the lees lifts from the glass aromas from an almost opened bakery with fresh croissants and fruit tarts being pulled from the oven. Drizzled honey, cream and roasted almond aromas quickly follow to entice you further into the glass. The richness is immediate with baked orchard fruit and lemon peel striking a pose on the palate as creme fraiche and subtle berry hints pop on the the palate that struts to the finish where pure mountain minerality embraces the palate and sharpens the wine to a fine point." “St. Valentin” Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021 · MAGNUM in gift box
Pinot Noir, which originates from France, has been cultivated in South Tyrol since 1850. The best sites, low yields, meticulous care and perfectionism in the cellar guarantee a fine, extremely sensual Pinot Noir with considerable ageing potential. Brilliant ruby-garnet colour. Delicious aromas of small berries, violets, cloves, smoke and vanilla. With age, the aroma gains interesting notes of porcini mushrooms and truffles. In the glass, the well-structured Pinot Nero Sanct Valentin shines with finesse, balance, spicy smoothness, fine tannins and a subtly integrated woody note. Pure seduction! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with brick reflections. Complex nose with ripe raspberry and some mocha. Precise, elegant and somewhat spicy on the palate, fine-grained tannins paired with a long finish." Falstaff
