“Stilèma” Fiano di Avellino Riserva DOCG 2018
"The Stilèma project was born as a testimony of Antonio Mastroberardino's love for his land, his vines and his wines, for their original character." Piero Mastroberardino
The project aims to highlight the link between the vines, the wines and their territorial origins. In this way, the Mastroberardino family wants to recreate the style of winemaking of the autochthonous grape varieties of Irpinia (Greco, Fiano and Aglianico) that took place between the end of the 1950s and the beginning of the 1970s of the twentieth century for the Taurasi and between the years 1970 and 1980 for the two white wines from Irpinia. It is the unmistakable style (the stilèma) of a family that has interpreted the natural heritage of its territory over generations and today impressively highlights the genuine character of the terroir, which by no means can be expressed by high concentration and intensity alone.
Pale straw yellow with light green reflections. The 24 months of yeast ageing of this exceptional Fiano create a fascinating balance and complexity of the aroma profile with classic hints of flint, fine saltiness, the scent of fresh almonds, cedar wood and wild herbs. The taste is lively with a pronounced mineral note, accompanied by an inspiring freshness that gives it great drinkability and finesse. The precise and very long finish is also extremely convincing. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lean and mineral, with a pure fruit bundle of apricot and white cherry and base notes of stone and salt, with accents of white flowers, pink grapefruit pith, liquorice and smoked almond. Supple and well-integrated, with a delicious, lingering finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Fiano di Avellino Riserva Stilèma opens slowly with notes of dried flowers and crushed stones that are replaced by apricots and ginger. It is silky yet supple, showing its minerality up front accompanied by tart fruit. The final is structured and long, colouring the palate with youthful concentration as notes of young peach and raw almond fade away. The 2018 is a powerful interpretation of Fiano Stilèma. Give it some time to relax." Vinous
"Slightly reticent nose, with suggestions of lemon flowers and dry minerals. Opens up on the silky, full-bodied palate to offer lovely fresh lemon and creamy mineral flavors that are driven by subtle acidity through the long finish. This is a noble, refined fiano that’s drinking so well now." James Suckling
"The Mastroberardino 2018 Fiano di Avellino Riserva Stiléma has been upgraded to Riserva and is creamy and smooth. The wine shows a medium fruit weight with notes of fruit trees and preserved lemons, enhanced by light oak spice and vanilla. Even more than the Greco Riserva Stiléma, which I also tasted, this Fiano seems more modern or "New World" in personality." Wine Advocate

“Nerobaronj” Nero d’Avola Terre Siciliane IGT 2019 (BIO)
Deep ruby red colour. Intense aroma of raspberry, red cherry, violets and spices. Sweet, spicy and yet light-footed, it convinces with a great inner energy that gives the red fruits, herbs and mineral flavours an impressive expression. In the never-ending finish, Nerobaronj is vibrant and with striking tannins, which lend additional emphasis. SUPERIORE.DE
"Smoke, balsamic blackberries and baked black cherries on the nose. Rich and medium- to full-bodied on the palate with supportive, fine tannins and a lengthy, coated finish. Really fine-grained." James Suckling
"Depths of black cherry, plum sauce, sage and clove are grounded by animal musk as the 2019 NeroBaronj smolders up from the glass. It flows across the palate like pure silk, refined and seamless in feel, with ripe wild berry fruits and exotic citrus tones that add contrast toward the close. The 2019 finishes long yet closes in upon itself with youthful poise, allowing fine tannins to resonate. Sour cherry notes stick around for a bit. This is elegance personified." Vinous

“Pian del Ciampolo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2022
Pian del Ciampolo is a graceful and very aromatic Sangiovese with small amounts of Canaiolo and Colorino - very much in the style of Montevertine. It has a powerful personality on the nose with lots of tart cherry, raspberry and wild plum, followed by a beautiful herbal flavour on the palate. Its elegant structure and the wonderful interplay of acidity and tannin ensure a beguiling drinking flow and a terrific length. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Pian del Ciampolo 2022 is soft, juicy and ready to go. The harvestwill find a lot of immediacy in this red wine made from Sangiovese. Crushed red berry fruit, mint, spice, rose petals and earthy notes are pushed forward nicely. The 2022 is a fine Pian del Ciampolo." Vinous
"The Montevertine 2022 Pian del Ciampolo is shy at first and needs some time to open up. You can recognise notes of wild berries, redcurrants, peat moss and tin cans. It has a soft texture with silky tannins." Wine Advocate
"A crunchy and fresh red with strawberry, orange peel and cedar aromas and flavors. It’s medium- to light-bodied with a vivid finish. Drink and enjoy." James Suckling

“Sgarzon” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO)
Sgarzon is a single vineyard, barely more than a kilometre from Morei as the crow flies, but here the Noce has deposited more sand in the upper layers of soil, the plot is more open and thus less protected from cold winds. The grapes ripen about a week later. Teroldego Sgarzon is fabulous, delicate and full of richness and energy from the attack to the final. The bouquet - an exciting blend of dark fruits, tobacco, flowers, liquorice, mint and minerals. Very clear, pure and clean on the palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"This rich, lively red is fragrant with floral and herb notes, with a zesty cracked peppercorn edge to the flavors of steeped raspberry, green plum, peach skin and heather. Plush tannins are sculpted and well-meshed, while savory accents of forest floor, iron and fresh earth drive the racy finish." Wine Spectator
"The Teroldego Sgarzon 2022 blossoms in the glass with a stunningly beautiful bouquet of dusty violet and lavender tones, wild blueberries and pine shavings. The texture is profound, with silky waves of ripe red and blue fruits flowing over a juicy stream of acidity. Crisp mineral tones add lovely depth and a hint of blood orange as the 2022 tapers off with tremendous length. An aftertaste of tart blackberries and gently grippy tannins linger. The 2022 Sgarzon has it all: depth, complexity, energy, power and structure. I love it." Vinous
"The red fruits are so pure and fresh, with citrus peel, white pepper and attractive minerality from gravel. It is medium-bodied, bright and very expressive. Juicy, taut and very long." James Suckling

“Il Frappato” Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2022 (BIO)
Arianna Occhipinti's Il Frappato, which is rare every year, is spicy and elegant on the nose but, as always, needs a little air to show its best side. Captivating aromas of sweet raspberries, rose petals, white pepper and thyme emerge in the glass, hinting at a mouthful of sweet red fruit, complemented by zesty acidity and salty salinity. Seamless tannins caress the long and perfumed finish. Il Frappato embodies a contemporary style that goes well with the healthy dishes we want to eat today, with lots of vegetables and white meat. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2022 Il Frappato is an understated beauty. Blackberries and redcurrants swirl from the glass, accentuated by a hint of incense and grated sage. The palate is soft and supple, with crisp red and black fruits flowing over a core of tangible minerals and savoury spice. A hint of zesty acidity provides an amazing freshness, even as a tart wild berry note pinches the cheeks on the long and tense final. I would enjoy the 2022 with a meal rather than on its own, but I have a feeling that was Arianna Occhipinti's intention." Vinous
"A succulent, precise, bright and lively frappato. The nose shows notes of forest berries, sour cherries, forest floor, pebbles and mild spices. It’s light- to medium-bodied with silky tannins. Polished and vivid with bright acidity. It’s agile, with so much succulence at the center. Mouthwatering and long." James Suckling

Sauvignon Bianco Alto Adige DOC 2022
The vines for this complex Sauvignon Bianco grow under Guyot training on hills between 400 and 800 metres above sea level on weathered dolomite rock. Pale straw yellow in colour with green hues. The slightly oriental bouquet convinces with hints of elderflower, white peach and dried fruit. A lively acidity unfolds from the very first sip, surrounded by juicy, fruity notes and mineral nuances. Overall, this beautiful white wine has a fullness and elegance that is only surpassed by the long and animating final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Strong, shiny golden yellow with a beautiful lustre. The first nose after opening is unpleasant, with a little air vegetal green notes, later green mango, some lychee. Slightly sagging on the palate, medium palate pressure, retronasal pear, medium length on the finish, significantly improved overall impression with more air." Falstaff

A beguilingly fruity Noà made from Nero d'Avola, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with a delicious bouquet of ripe red fruit, spices and cocoa and a fresh flavour with silky smooth tannins and a long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"A rich and quite heady red with plenty of pine cones, heavily toasted spices, tar and an abundance of black fruits. Full-bodied. With rich, juicy black fruits. The quality of the tannins is good. Very intense in flavour." James Suckling
"The 2020 Noà is dark and floral with a burst of black raspberries, grilled herbs and ashen stone. It splashes across the palate with silken textures motivated by juicy acidity, displaying ripe wild berry fruits and contrasting hints of spice orange. The 2020 leaves stony mineral tones and edgy tannins to linger, tapering off with admirable length and balance." Vinous

“Fuoripista” Pinot Grigio Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO)
Emilio and Elisabetta Foradori only press 8,000 bottles of Fuoripista Pinot Grigio from the biodynamic vineyards of the Campo Rotaliano site every year. The delicate pink-coloured wine is fermented for eight months on the skins in tinajas (Spanish amphorae), where it matures slowly to reveal the delicate character of Pinot Grigio and the forgotten diversity of Trentino. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Pinot Grigio Fuoripista 2022 shows pink and orange tones and smells of wild strawberries and minty herbs. It has a soft texture with a core of zesty acidity and acidic citrus tones that keep the balance as crisp fruit trees spill across the palate. A mineral note lingers on the long, tense final, while a liquid, floral colour slowly fades. The 2022 is a refined example of Pinot Grigio Fuoripista that would benefit from a few more years in the bottle." Vinous
"This distinctive version is a light tawny hue, with wafts of dried marjoram and mace interwoven with flavors of creamed strawberry, white cherry and tobacco, with a subtle, salty underpinning. Fresh and well-cut, with good length and light, chalky texture on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Bright copper-orange colour. Fascinating and noble orange wine with cranberry, cantaloupe and flowers. Medium to full-bodied with beautiful, flattering phenolics and a long and flavourful finish showing apricots and oranges. Can age. One of the best orange wines from Italy. Made from organically grown grapes." James Suckling

“Curubella” Pinot Grigio Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2019
Livio Felluga's new crus come from massalselection. For this purpose, selected vines are reproduced in particularly advantageous locations in order to renew vineyards with especially high-quality vines and to further improve the quality of individual varietal wines.
Named after the small Curubella vineyard, this Pinot Grigio expresses the unique and very expressive terroir in a very special way. Golden yellow with copper-coloured reflections, which are the result of a longer maceration period. On the nose, autumnal notes of medlar, jasmine and white pepper, rounded off by elderberry, marjoram, melon and orange zest. On the firm palate, powerful and expressive of candied fruit, spice with floral elements. In the long finish then traces of acacia honey and pastry. Complex and deep with a very clear personality, freshness and beautiful minerality. SUPERIORE.DE
"Delicate orange pink, a Ramato that is anything but a name. Spicy, salty notes with a hint of bread crust over brooding apricot with a hint of flowers. Restrained at first, then layers of apricot and peach with spice notes and bitter orange on the finish. It would be a shame not to serve this wine with a sole. It has a lot of life ahead of it." Jancis Robinson
"In the local dialect, Curubella means "rounded highland" and describes the land where this massive selection of Pinot Grigio vines was planted in 1981. This traditional Ramato-style Pinot Grigio spends two days on the skins for a delicate copper hue and subtle texture, and is aged in Cocciopesto amphorae - a mixture of sand, gravel and clay used for thousands of years - for a completely neutral but oxidative vessel. The result is a fragrant and leafy aroma, with an intense, creamy and bright palate of green fruits, soft melon, subtle yellow fruits and a floral, lifted finish with more creaminess." Decanter
"Beautiful aromas of cantaloupe melon, rose petals and pear blossom. Medium bodied, growing on the palate with white pepper and peaches with some honeysuckle. Refined. A new wine from a single vineyard from here." James Suckling

Barbaresco Bordini DOCG 2020
Medium-deep ruby red with orange reflections. Wonderful bouquet of fine sour cherry and strawberry compote with restrained oak spice. Multi-layered and juicy on the palate with a potpourri of dark fruits, framed by fine-grained tannins. Well structured, it leads into an interesting, long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"This red wine is fleshy and shows notes of cherries, strawberries, mint and earth, accompanied by a firm, lively structure. Although this wine sounds rather austere now, it is fresh and has a lingering fruity and spicy aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"This wine is lively and racy with ripe raspberries, blackcurrant leaves, rose petals and bergamot. Also dry earth. Medium to full body with crisp tannins and chalky texture. Structured and a little chewy, yet fresh and red-fruited with a mineral finish." James Suckling
"The Barbaresco Bordini 2020 (with fruit from the village of Neive) shows a medium-bodied density with more texture and structure in this vintage. The Bordini is a little more austere in character and savoury overall. This added richness is accompanied by an open approach that makes this wine approachable in the medium term. Or you can wait if you prefer." Wine Advocate
"Black raspberries, medicinal herbs and spiced tea dominate the aromatic profile. The firm palate reveals that the fruit is at the core, surrounded by sweet and savory spices, including notes of cigar box and worn leather. Mouthwatering acidity adds to its appeal." Wine Enthusiast

“Marne 180” Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG 2020
The name says it all: Marne means marl soil, on which the vines for this marvellous Amarone grow. They are over 20 years old and lie in an ideal 180° direction, from south-west to south-east. Rich, shiny ruby red colour, compact bouquet with intense aromas of plum, black cherry, green tea and tobacco, with a fine chocolate note in the background. The body, coated in fine berry fruit, develops a dynamic flavour experience on the palate with a sweet fruit melt, firm tannins and a long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense, bright ruby red with garnet reflections. A complex nose of dried red fruits, liquorice and forest floor, with a balsamic finish. Powerful on the palate with intense fruit and length as well as a fine tannin structure." Falstaff
"Dried flowers, plums, red berries, beautifully combined with leather, oak, figs and dates, lively freshness with a beautiful tannin structure." Decanter
"The wines from this reliable producer are consistently delicious, in a modern style without ever slipping too far into excess. Cherry, alpine spruce, candied orange zest, violets and camphor. The oak combines with the refined tannins of the grapes, condensing the fruit with a welcome restraint. The vintage has a hint of sweetness. The age and accompanying complexity will serve this wine well. Lasting." James Suckling
"The 2020 Amarone della Valpolicella Marne 180 is wonderfully floral, with dusty, dried roses and violets accompanied by notes of crushed chalk and spiced blackberries. It has a silky texture and a pleasant inner sweetness with crisp forest fruits contrasted by candied orange notes. The Marne 180 finishes structured and remarkably fresh with a hint of dark chocolate that lingers. It is fantastic." Vinous

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2016
Beautiful and very well-balanced red wine from the three main historical areas of Montalcino, which have different geoclimatic characteristics due to their different slopes and altitudes - and thus ensure a unique balance between freshness and structure, body and elegance.
Ruby red in colour with garnet reflections, opens immediately with a rich, complex nose. Initially dark cherry, chinotto orange and violet. It then opens up to broader, more complex notes of blueberry, vanilla, tobacco, cinnamon and chocolate with a subtle menthol finish. This juicy 2016 Brunello di Montalcino offers plenty of energy and brightness, conveyed by the cherry fruit and wild berry flavours at its core. The primary fruit is surrounded by spice, grilled herbs and floral earth. The natural complexity, purity and depth of the Sangiovese grape comes into its own in this dream vintage and especially in this Brunello. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, noble ruby red colour with a radiant core. Open-hearted and inviting nose, slightly fleshy, with nuances of ripe sour cherries, pepper and raspberries, with an aftertaste of rose hips. Very polished and balanced on the palate, with tightly woven tannins, opens up beautifully on the palate, slightly salty finish." Falstaff
"Deep ruby red colour. Senescent fruit sweetness, beautiful ripe cherry and undergrowth. There is also an obvious oak sweetness on the palate, but there is still a delicacy here, perhaps because the tannins are so fine and relatively light. Elegant, dry, delicate, long, even juicy." Jancis Robinson
"Bringing together grapes from diverse vineyards throughout Montalcino, this midweight, almost-approachable Brunello is focused and vibrant. It takes a bit of coaxing on the nose then divulges sage, orange rind and fennel. Brisk acidity and chalky tannins meet crisp red currant and cranberry, cleansing the palate nicely." Decanter
"The Brunello di Montalcino 2016 has something spicy and slightly rustic about it, which I find very attractive. Baked black cherries, balsamic spice and a hint of animal musk create a beguiling spectacle. The textures are silky smooth, with cooling acids and salty minerals lifting the expression as they give way to tart red fruits. The tannins increase and slowly dry out the senses, but even today the 2016 is a pleasure to drink, coming across as both youthfully structured and savoury and fresh. It is a blend from the vineyards of Val di Suga in Montalcino." Vinous
"Aromas of iron, blood and cherry introduce this soft and lively red wine, while an abundance of dark fruit - black cherry and blackberry - lingers on the palate. The finish is characterised by dark, chocolaty tannins." Wine Spectator
"Dusty notes of crushed gravel and dried tea leaves are the prelude to aromas of fresh mushrooms and hints of fennel. Spicy mushrooms and olives, followed by firm, fine-grained tannins. Structured and full-bodied." James Suckling

Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 2018
Dark ruby red. The bouquet gives a furious hint of what this opulent long-distance runner is capable of: full heart of cherry fruit, blue flowers, damp forest floor, noble spice and a well-dosed use of wood impressively alternate. Just as complex and multi-layered on the nose, the wine goes on to show beguiling wild berries, precisely polished tannins and an extraordinarily elegant long final. Wow! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with very light garnet reflections. Notes of ripe cherries, wild berries, sweet spices and some hints of cocoa and dried flowers. Velvety, soft, persistent, spicy flavour with excellent extract richness." Falstaff
"Crushed berries and a layer of mahogany on the nose. Full-to medium-bodied with a very refined, polished feel and intense flavor. Firm tannins push the length. Very solid, but exuding finesse." James Suckling
"The 2018 Valpolicella Classico Superiore seduces with a dusting of confectionery spice and sweet smoke complementing its bright cherry profile. This is juicy and round with vivid ripe red berries and minty herbs, along with violet and lavender florals. The finish is long and staining with round tannins that linger. For all of its sweet spice, the Valpolicella Classico Superiore is matured entirely in large Slavonian oak - what you smell is fruit." Vinous

“Villa Donoratico” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2021
The grapes for Villa Donoratico, like those for Bolgheri Superiore, have recently been sourced from the estate's very best vineyards. Immediately after hand-picking, they are rigorously selected by 12 employees at 2 sorting tables and the ageing in 500-litre tonneaux ensures even more elegance and finesse. The qualitative gap to Argentiera, the winery's flagship, has thus been noticeably reduced and the wine sets new standards in the entire Bolgheri DOC.
Rich, sparkling ruby colour. Fine, subtle nose of redcurrant and herbal spice, some rosewood and fresh forest floor. Very complex and multi-layered on the palate, revealing more facets with every sip, the well-articulated fruit core is flanked by a fine-meshed tannin and leads into a very elegant, long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very dark in the glass, almost black. The nose is very powerful. Juicy black cherry, plus preserved blackberry and a hint of blueberry. Very inviting. A little lighter in the mouth, again lots of fruit and spicy notes, with an elegant woody flavour. Crisp tannins and acidity, both well interwoven. Powerful without being heavy, animating and with good drinking flow. Goes well with game dishes." Vinum
"A dense red with flavours of blackcurrants, blackberries, vanilla, cedar and chocolate, supported by slightly grainy tannins. Rather chunky overall, but with a nice length." Wine Spectator
"The nose starts with black cherries and blackberries, but eventually notes of salt and pepper come to the fore. On the palate, the cherries linger, with chocolate complementing the rich sweetness, before a complex finish of heat, spice and dusty chalk. The tannins linger while the acidity sings." Wine Enthusiast
"Dense ruby colour with a brightening rim. Spicy on the nose, with aromas of white pepper, blackcurrant, cocoa and light tobacco notes. Velvety and soft on the palate, with firm tannins and rich fruit, with a long finish." Falstaff
"Attractive Cabernet-based red wine with aromas of redcurrants and berries and undertones of lead pencil and spices. Herbs. Full-bodied with walnut, chocolate and fruit flavours. Very fine tannins with a finesse and beauty." James Suckling
"The Argentiera 2021 Bolgheri Rosso Villa Donoratico has a forward mouthfeel with plenty of immediate intensity in the mid-palate. The wine is articulate and generous with thick layers of black fruits, stewed plums, sweet earth and pressed blackberries. You get everything you want from a Bolgheri Rosso. You even get a wine that tastes more like a Bolgheri Superiore." Wine Advocate

“Animardente” Rosso Etna DOC 2021
Animardente is a pure Nerello Mascalese produced from vines planted in bushes at an altitude of 700 metres on partly sandy and ashy, partly gravelly and pebbly soils that are exposed to extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night. The name of the wine is derived from the bowels of the volcano, from its incessant activity, the heat and the colour of the magma. The vines grow in a kind of amphitheatre created by volcanic eruptions, which over the centuries have produced a valuable substrate for viticulture: On dark volcanic soils formed from lava flows, mainly free-living, rootless vines develop here, which are exposed to the most extreme climatic influences. Animardente was born a few years ago in this almost moon-like landscape. A name that tells of the soul of the silent volcano, unexpected and incandescent, breathing life into perpetual motion. An irrepressible and seductive force of nature, the expression of a unique terroir. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Etna Rosso Animardenta Santo Spirito is wickedly fresh, opening with a whiff of savory herbs and crushed rocks that gives way to wild strawberries and rose petals. This possesses a lovely inner sweetness that’s further enhanced by ripe red berries as autumnal spices swirl atop a core of grippy tannin. The 2021 finishes long, gently tannic and beautifully balanced. A note of licorice remains on the close." Vinous
"Cherry red colour with garnet reflections. Medium body with very fine tannins and fresh cherry, dried lemon and stone flavours. Crisp and tasty. A hint of minerals and pumice on the finish." James Suckling

“Fontanasanta” Nosiola Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO)
Nosiola - an ancient grape variety of Trentino - was once cultivated throughout the country. Today, its cultivation is limited to the mountains and valleys of Trento. The Nosiola grape produces wines of great finesse and longevity. Elisabetta's Nosiola also gains exceptional vigour and energy through biodynamics and ageing in amphora. Give the Nosiola time and be patient: Only after sufficient aeration and at a serving temperature of around 13 degrees does this white wine reveal its full potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Broad and dry, with lightly chalky texture and lip-smacking acidity carrying notes of dehydrated white peach, pink grapefruit pith, heather and green almond. There's a zesty energy to the lasting finish of cracked white and pink peppercorn." Wine Spectator
"The Nosiola Fontanasanta 2022 seduces with a bouquet in which tropical citrus fruits and sweet spices mingle with nectarines and wet stone. It is a model of purity with zesty orange citrus and vibrant acidity on the attack, giving way to an array of exotic flowers and a hint of raw honey. The 2022 finishes long and colourful but is still remarkably fresh, leaving candied lime contrasting with sour melon. Wow, the Nosiola 2022 is a real treat that still maintains an impeccable balance." Vinous
"Crazy floral aromas of honeysuckle, sage, lemon blossom and sliced lemons that are strong and prominent on the nose and palate. Full-bodied with flavours of dried fruit and white apricot. Creamy texture. Lots of flavour." James Suckling

"Colour and aroma that tell of blue berries from deep forests, velvety and length that make you forget time. Made from the autochthonous Lagrein grape." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Translucent purple-violet colour. Complex bouquet with aromas of dark berries, ripe notes of plum and subtle sweetness of elderberry syrup. Well-coordinated impressions on the palate and dense, creamy tannins create a velvety harmony. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark purple red with violet edges. Intense aromas of dark berries, ripe plums and liquorice. A finesse-rich acidity on the palate with dense tannins, fine spice and a lingering final." Falstaff

“Potentilla” Sauvignon Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2019
Livio Felluga's new cru wines are the result of massalselection. For this purpose, selected vines are reproduced in particularly advantageous locations in order to renew vineyards with especially high-quality vines and to further improve the quality of individual varietal wines.
The grapes for this very characterful and complex Sauvignon Bianco come from vines planted as early as 1975. It captivates with its creamy texture and, due to the four weeks of malolactic fermentation followed by nine months of barrel ageing. Pure gold in the glass with rich yellow nuances. Opens with summery scents of rose and boxwood, then physalis, passion fruit, nettle, pickled peach and a delicate coriander note. Supple on the palate, of great elegance with complex sweetness, exoticism and citrus fruit. The wood is well integrated and underlines the aristocratic character of this exceptional wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Sauvignon Potentilla opens in the glass like a fresh spring morning, with wet stone and cut grass nuances giving way to freshly squeezed lemonade. It's silky and supple on the palate, with depths of ripe citrus-tinged orchard fruits propelled by juicy acidity. Its minerality comes forward through the finish, tapering off salty and savory yet remarkably fresh, leaving sage and grapefruit notes to fade slowly. The Potentilla rests a month on the lees, adding to its textural depth and complexities." Vinous
"From a massal selection of vines first planted in 1975, this wine spent several hours in contact with the skins before alcoholic and malolactic fermentations, and then matured in 15hl casks for several months. The result is a white with intense aromas of tinned peach, yellow plum and cream. Savoury waxiness with texture and weight make this a superb food wine capable of matching up to a variety of dishes. Creamy and woody then slightly earthy flavours of apricot skin, banana peel and bruised apple lead to a long and fresh finish." Decanter
"The name of this wine derives from the flower of the same name, "Potentilla". The name combines the Latin "potenza" for power with the diminutive form of "illa" creating defining the small flower with great power. This is a perfect name for this delicious Sauvignon from the historic Livo Felluga estate. Aromas of white peach, citrus oil and yellow flowers leap out of the glass. The palate is round and texture, due to oak aging, finishing with hints of nectarine, crushed rock and a touch of herb. Beautifully balanced this wine will age quiet well. Drink Now." Wine Enthusiast
"Litchi fruit with kiwi and lemon notes. Very fresh and bright aromas. Full to medium body with lively acidity and a bright, tangy finish. Lime and some graphite come through." James Suckling

“Baronesse - Baron Salvadori” Passito Alto Adige DOC 2016 dolce · in gift box
Bright golden yellow. On the nose, an impressive potpourri of yellow fruits, apricot, quince, dried fruits and honey. On the palate, almost overwhelmingly full and soft, but never sticky or broad. You taste dried fruit again, some acacia honey and wonderfully ripe yellow fruit. A fine sweetness fills the mouth and inevitably awakens the desire for another sip. An elegant, deep and at the same time fresh wine with blockbuster potential that has no equal. SUPERIORE.DE
"A lot of caramelized orange and a rich, creamy texture make this a very appealing dessert wine and the sweetness is enough to go with quite a wide range of desserts. Good length at the finish." James Suckling
"The 2016 Alto Adige Baron Salvadori Baronesse Passito is a syrupy and sticky dessert wine with fragrant layers of candied orange peel, almond marzipan, sun-dried apricot and chestnut honey. The wine is aged in tonneaux for 12 months, but those characteristic notes of cinnamon and spice appear as distant afterthoughts and are evenly folded into the thick texture of the wine. This is a seriously delicious wine that is difficult to score because it stands so far apart in a group of peers. The intensity here is truly stratospheric. Only 3,000 precious bottles were made." “Morei” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO)
The Teroldego from Foradori are all a great experience. Elisabetta makes extremely interesting wines from the autochthonous grape variety from the foot of the Dolomites. And they are purely organic and partly also in amphorae.
Morei (dark in the Trentino dialect) is an original red wine that is true to its terroir and yet irresistibly elegant and refined. Warm, dense and mineral like the soil on which it grows. Morei is protected from cold northerly winds by the nearby, abruptly rising rock faces. The rock stores heat during the day, which radiates to the vineyard at night. The soil here is very stony and therefore relatively warm, dense, dark and mineralised, just like the Morei Teroldego wine of the same name. The average age of the vines (30 years) also contributes to its depth of character. SUPERIORE.DE
"There's an accessible feel to this open-knit, medium- to full-bodied red, showing good integration of the racy acidity and sinewy tannins with flavors of pureed blackberry, dried mint and black tea leaf, singed orange peel and milled white pepper. Enjoy this today or with short-term cellaring." Wine Spectator
"A beguiling blend of black raspberries, exotic spices, leather straps, cocoa and crushed stones makes the 2022 Teroldego Morei impossible to ignore. It's juicy and fresh, with a fine structure, crisp wild berries and zesty acidity that keeps the energy remarkably high. Tactile mineral tones add a pleasing crunch, while notes of white pepper and pomegranate linger over a bed of gently grippy tannins. The Morei 2022 seems more immediate than previous vintages, but its balance cannot be denied. The purity alone is fascinating." Vinous
"Purple red in the glass. Lively fruit on the nose, with bright raspberry and blackcurrant flavours, wrapped in aromatic herbs. The palate reveals crisp, integrated acidity and lightly framed tannins. Delicious and so fresh. Made from organically and biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 (BIO)
When we discovered this winery by chance in the early 2000s, we were struck at first sight by the modesty and purism of the Biliorsi family. This is still the case today, here they remain true to themselves and their philosophy and in good years bring just 10,000 bottles of a "somewhat different" Brunello into the cellar.
Deep dark ruby red, on the nose small black berries, cedar wood, forest floor and a fine nutty roasted aroma. The palate is complex and powerful, with earthy-rustic nuances and a complex mixture of dark fruit, precious woods, a fine plum note and some chocolate. Very intense, impulsive and long and not at all for lovers of polished standard wines. SUPERIORE.DE
"Presents itself with a fine cherry, floral aroma; juicy on the palate, the acidity perfectly integrated, nice polish, elegant and with good length." Vinum
"The organic Fornacina 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is a dark and savory wine with black fruit, exotic spice, rusty nail and dry rose petal. There are hints of mild astringency, but the tannins are on track for near or medium-term integration. In fact, this wine is best consumed in the next couple of years while those dark fruit tones are still intact. Exactly 8,188 bottles were released." Wine Advocate
"Savory and a little reductive to begin with but then opens up with aromas of wet earth, oregano, sweet berries, cherries and licorice. Medium-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Well structured throughout with an expressive finish. Better from 2024." James Suckling
