Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 (BIO)
When we discovered this winery by chance in the early 2000s, we were struck at first sight by the modesty and purism of the Biliorsi family. This is still the case today, here they remain true to themselves and their philosophy and in good years bring just 10,000 bottles of a "somewhat different" Brunello into the cellar.
Deep dark ruby red, on the nose small black berries, cedar wood, forest floor and a fine nutty roasted aroma. The palate is complex and powerful, with earthy-rustic nuances and a complex mixture of dark fruit, precious woods, a fine plum note and some chocolate. Very intense, impulsive and long and not at all for lovers of polished standard wines. SUPERIORE.DE
"Presents itself with a fine cherry, floral aroma; juicy on the palate, the acidity perfectly integrated, nice polish, elegant and with good length." Vinum
"The organic Fornacina 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is a dark and savory wine with black fruit, exotic spice, rusty nail and dry rose petal. There are hints of mild astringency, but the tannins are on track for near or medium-term integration. In fact, this wine is best consumed in the next couple of years while those dark fruit tones are still intact. Exactly 8,188 bottles were released." Wine Advocate
"Savory and a little reductive to begin with but then opens up with aromas of wet earth, oregano, sweet berries, cherries and licorice. Medium-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Well structured throughout with an expressive finish. Better from 2024." James Suckling

“Eneo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019
Eneo is supposed to be the "Grand Vin" of Montepesolo, the Italian answer to the globalisation of wines. And Eneo can do that. The blend of indigenous grape varieties, with Sangiovese and Montepulciano clearly in the foreground, unmistakably expresses its terroir and is understood worldwide in the process. SUPERIORE.DE
"Blackcurrant and cherry aromas with fresh flowers and orange peel follow through to a medium to full body with ultra-fine tannins that are integrated beautifully in the wine, leaving a bright, focused impression." James Suckling
"The 2019 Eneo is a wine of notable focus and drive. Black cherry, leather, tobacco, incense, smoke, dried herbs and gravel infuse the 2019 with striking layers of complexity. Firm but well-integrated tannins give the wine energy as well as proportion. There's a ton to like, but readers need to be patient, as the 2019 needs time to soften. This is an especially dark, at times somber, vintage of Eneo." Vinous

“Nerina” Bianco Etna DOC 2022
Complex aroma profile of dried apple, pear, camomile, exotic fruits and ash. Full of grace on the palate, dry, fruity and intense, a delicate acidity and fine minerality lend freshness. A very elegant and attractive white wine from Etna with good potential and a never-ending experience factor: every sip opens up new facets of this completely enchanting wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"Toffee apple, floral notes, almond bitterness on the finish. Lovely savoury tang here. Rounded without being heavyweight." Jancis Robinson
"Dusty and savoury with an airy scent of lemon leaves, it is intense and bright in the mouth. Crisp green apple, some yellow plum, peach, peppery spice and a lovely juiciness lead to a savoury, pithy finish." Decanter
"The 2022 Etna Bianco Nerina is a real pleasure. It exudes a tropically inspired yet refined bouquet of fresh mangoes, bananas, mint leaves and sweet smoke. It has a soft and round texture with ripe yellow stone fruit. A dash of candied lemon gives it a nice spiciness. The finish is quite mineral, almost crisp, with citrus and kiwi notes. The 2022 is almost too simple to like, but the balance is just right." Vinous
"Nerina is one of my favourite white wines from Etna, especially when drunk young and fresh. The Bianca Nerina 2022 is particularly crisp and bright with a polished, glossy feel. Flavours of citrus, white peach and honey come to the fore. To be honest, I've never been able to keep a bottle long enough to trace its evolution." Wine Advocate
"This wine is perfumed with notes of citrus blossom and citrus leaf as well as white peach and chalky soil. Beautiful texture with medium body and lively, penetrating acidity. Smooth and delicious with a refreshing, minty finish." James Suckling

“Bianco di Riecine” Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
The grapes for this exciting, mash-fermented Trebbiano come from the vineyards that the Dunkleys (former owners of the winery) found when they arrived in Gaiole in Chianti. They are destemmed and fermented in Cocciopesto amphorae. Once fermentation is complete, most of the wine remains on the skins for six months, while a small portion (10-15%) is aged without skins for the same amount of time in new Liters tonneaux. Rich orange-yellow. In the slightly reductive bouquet notes of stewed apple, citrus and pear. Very fruity on the palate, with a striking acidity and a beautiful tannin. Medium-bodied and long, very exciting and drinky! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Bianco di Riecine is aged in amphorae. The 2021 is rich and phenolic, with an abundance of orange peel and hazelnuts. Dried herbs and chamomile complete the layers in this dense, phenolic white wine. It is a wine to be enjoyed on its own merits, as it is not intended to express any regional or varietal character." Vinous
"Sparkling straw yellow with greenish reflections. In the nose nobly restrained, stony, some citrus fruit as well as a hint of white peach. On the palate also lemony, straightforward and fresh, salty, refreshing acidity, medium-long, salty final." Falstaff
"A Trebbiano with skin contact, dried apples and lemon peel, walnuts and a touch of flor. It is full but not heavy, with an agile and crisp character. A hint of beeswax with dried fruit." James Suckling

“Contrada Rampante” Rosso Etna DOC 2018
Contrada Rampante with a finely woven bouquet of dark red cherries, flowers, mint and liquorice. Fresh and lively on the palate, with a memorable blend of ethereal sweetness, filigree acidity and interesting salinity. A contemplative drop that requires a certain amount of experience and patience to be fully discovered. Pre-Phylloxera = from rootless vines! SUPERIORE.DE

“Giodo - La Quinta” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
La Quinta is the fresher, lighter but no less elegant version of Carlo Ferrini's Sangiovese interpretation. The purist beauty of small red fruits, including raspberry and summer cherry, combined with floral undertones, pepper and a hint of Mediterranean maquis combine to create a cool, aristocratic Rosso that expresses the signature of the Oenologistoenologist like no other! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby with garnet reflections. Elegant and spicy on the nose, opening on sweet cherry, blueberries and cloves, followed by liquorice and a hint of dark chocolate. Gripping but very fresh on the palate, with firm, tight tannins, precise fruit notes through to the lingering final." Falstaff
"The Giodo 2020 La Quinta is a pure Sangiovese (with fruit from younger vines) from a vintage that will be remembered for its sun and heat. This wine shows the power you would expect, with bold fruit tones of candied cherries and baked raspberries. The primary intensity of the wine is bold and determined, making this a good choice for a cheesy meal, be it lasagne or baked brie. The finish is soft and dense." Wine Advocate
"Lots of earth, meat and spices with cherries and spices. Also bark and mushrooms. Medium to full body, deep and dense but not heavy, with lots of forest fruit on the finish. Quite unique." James Suckling

“Contrada Cavaliere” Rosso Etna DOC 2020
This elegant and very harmonious red comes 100% from the small vineyard (Contrada) Cavaliere on the south-western slope of Etna. The vineyards in the municipality of Santa Maria di Licodìa develop at considerable altitudes (about 900 m above sea level) with favourable conditions for all indigenous varieties, both red and white berries, which are grown here with Guyot pruning. Here, both the Nerello and the Carricante varieties produce wines with a well-defined structure and varietal aromas.
Radiant ruby red. Ethereal bouquet full of spice and hints of red fruits. On the palate, medium-bodied, multilayered and with a fine tannin and acid wire that complete its elegance and harmony. SUPERIORE.DE
"A lovely nose of crushed red cherries, fresh roses and crushed herbs. Medium-bodied with firm yet elegant tannins. Well balanced, with a pleasantly nuanced and subtle approach. Sour cherry and green strawberry. Still a bit tight. Best after 2025." James Suckling

“TRE” Rosso Toscana IGT 2022 (BIO) · MAGNUM
The name TRE stands for its three grape varieties Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as for its three Tuscan vineyards Maremma, Castellina and Radda in Chianti. TRE is a wine full of character that offers great drinking pleasure from an early age. Bright, medium ruby red colour. Fruity bouquet with spicy nuances, blackberry and sour cherries. The flavour is dense, powerful and soft at the same time. Wonderfully aromatic wine with the finest tannins and an elegant finish. Almost unbeatable value! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2022 Tre is a good entry-level wine. This blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon offers a wonderful freshness and just enough seriousness to be a perfect dinner companion. The finish is brightened by floral notes. This medium-bodied wine comes from the Brancaia Chianti Classico and Maremma vineyards." Vinous
"Flavors of cherry, strawberry, sanguine, iron and Mediterranean scrub are supported by a solid structure in this red, which is balanced overall, with dusty tannins and a resonant finish." Wine Spectator
"This wine is bright and flavoursome with vibrant red fruits, dried lavender, orange peel and a hint of crushed rocks on the nose. Medium-bodied with juicy acidity and dusty texture from the tannins. Crisp and lively with a peppery aftertaste." James Suckling

“Siccagno” Nero d’Avola Sicilia DOC 2020 (BIO)
Muscular Nero d'Avola, deep dark red in colour, rich in extract and powerful with aromas of dried fruit, raspberries, beetroot and blackcurrants. A juicy Sicilian from natural cultivation that enchants us with its great personality and beguiling finesse. SUPERIORE.DE
"The scent of wild hedgerow berries leads to a softly structured, flavoursome palate that mirrors the nose and shows good intensity of red and black berries. Polished and well balanced, it is an elegant interpretation of Nero d'Avola." Decanter
"The organic Nero d'Avola Siccagno 2020 offers a lovely blend of cherry, dark fruit and a hint of clove. The wine shows notes of cola, black olives and baked plums in the background. There is plenty of fruit in this wine, leading to a bold, vibrant style. It is fluid in personality, but also lean in texture." Wine Advocate
"A very attractive Nero d'Avola with crushed black berries and bright citrus acidity with hints of fruit, black tea and dark mushrooms. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and tangy acidity on the finish. Drink or store." James Suckling
"The 2020 Nero d'Avola Siccagno captivates with an earth-inspired bouquet that blends crushed ashen stones with sage and smoke before giving way to crushed wild blueberries. It’s silky and refined, with a sleek wave of ripe red and blue fruits carried across a core of zesty acidity. A saline tinge adds a savory edge toward the close. The 2020 finishes lightly structured, long and with immaculate balance, leaving a coating of primary concentration, hints of citrus and inner florals. While already a total pleasure aromatically and on the palate, I expect the 2020 Siccagno will blossom beautifully over the next five to ten years in a cold cellar. This is stunning." Vinous

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2022
Laura Brunelli's Rosso is a blend of Sangiovese grapes from Podernovone - 500 metres above sea level on the south-eastern slope of Montalcino with a south-western exposure - and Canalicchio on the northern side of the village. The vines for the first vineyard were planted in 1998, those for the second in 1989. "Our Rosso is made from the same grapes as the Brunello," says Laura Brunelli. The wine is traditionally aged for a year in large oak barrels. It is extremely fresh every year and not without complexity. The aromas of redcurrants, wild strawberries, black pepper and juniper are followed by a bright bouquet of red fruits on the medium-bodied palate. It has velvety tannins and a refreshing, integrated acidity. A really great interpretation of the terroir and, as every year, a little Brunello. SUPERIORE.DE
"A lively, fruit-driven Rosso with notes of red cherries, berries and some potpourri. Juicy, fresh and fine-boned on the palate, with beautiful acidity and a precise, medium-long finish." James Suckling
"The 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is exotic, as blood orange and clove mix with dried black cherries, sage and crushed rocks. This flows across the palate, finessed and feminine, with brisk acidity and soothing ripe red and blue fruits. It leaves a gentle tug of tannic tension and a chewy sensation, tapering off long and hauntingly dark." Vinous

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO)
The grapes for Gaglioles Riserva come from vineyards in Panzano that used to belong to Le Cinciole and neighbouring Gagliole. Dark and full-bodied in the glass, it shows the full range of the Conca d'Oro area of Panzano, but does so in a pleasantly restrained style that is typical of the elegant 2019. Currently still very young, in a few years it will be much more enjoyable. SUPERIORE.DE
"Harmony and depth in this version that bears the ancient name of this beautiful farm. Complex nose, blackberries and blueberries together with mentholated touches and floral nuances, of carnation, dense and taut mouth, savory tannins, juicy finish, with mentholated-floral return." Luca Gardini
"Beautiful aromas of roses and other flowers, together with fresh cherries and lemon rind, following through to a medium body with freshness and vivid intensity to the finish. Spicy at the end." James Suckling
"Only in its second vintage, the certified organic Gagliole 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva addresses the need for a category that sits between the entry-level reds and the high-end Gran Selezione wines. Fruit is sourced exclusively from Panzano for an intense ruby color shaded by elegant darkness. Aromas recall blackberry, graphite, flint and white pepper. This wine prizes freshness, a streamlined mouthfeel and those pretty mineral notes that drive a very long and polished finish." Wine Advocate

“Vigna Pedale” Castel del Monte Riserva DOCG 2016 · MAGNUM in OWC
The grapes for the Vigna Pedale come from vines that are over 30 years old. The vines are planted in a sapling system, which allows only a few grapes per vine. The harvest does not begin until mid-October, which is very unusual for this location so far south. Purple dark red colour. Spicy aroma of cherries, thyme, wild mushrooms and earth, the typical, unadulterated flavour is strong and concentrated with a subtle sweetness. This wine is already a great pleasure today, but still has potential for the coming years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a drop of violet. On the nose with nuances of Amarena cherries, beetroot, also with great spice, like mustard seed, after a little time then on noble wood nuances, appears stony. Clear juiciness on the palate, with plenty of fruit at the core, cool finish, balanced and with race, firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"The nose is warm, sweet and savory, as aromas of strawberry rhubarb pie waft above a foundation of fresh brewed coffee and earth. The palate leans into that subtle sweetness, with milk chocolate and more coffee grounding wild cherry and strawberry flavors, against flexible tannins and a persistent stream of acid." Wine Enthusiast
"On the nose, smoky spice notes to the ripe raspberries with hints of roasted chestnuts and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied with fine, slightly dry tannins and a bright bead of plum skin and raspberry fruit that combine for a tight, fruity finish. Lasting. Flavourful and entertaining." James Suckling

“Potentilla” Sauvignon Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2020
Livio Felluga's new cru wines are the result of massalselection. For this purpose, selected vines are reproduced in particularly favourable locations in order to renew vineyards with particularly high-quality vines and to further improve the quality of individual varietal wines.
The grapes for this very characterful and multi-layered Sauvignon Bianco come from vines planted back in 1975. It is characterised by its creamy texture and nine months of ageing in barrels after four weeks of malolactic fermentation. Pure gold in the glass with rich yellow nuances. Opens with a summery aroma of roses and boxwood, then physalis, passion fruit, nettle, pickled peach and a delicate hint of coriander. Smooth on the palate, very elegant with complex sweetness, exoticism and citrus fruit. The wood is well integrated and emphasises the aristocratic character of this exceptional wine. SUPERIORE.DE
"A blend of savory herbs, spiced orange peels and incense gives way to a vivid nectarine as the 2020 Sauvignon Potentilla blossoms in the glass. This is deeply textural, with masses of mineral-tinged pit fruits complicated by a sour citrus tinge. The 2020 finishes spicy and with a youthful tension that puckers the cheeks as candied lemons fade." Vinous
"A very serious Sauvignon blanc, showing intense lemons, stones, perfectly ripe gooseberries and limes with a hint of sour cream. Almost full-bodied on the palate with impressive concentration. Mineral, taut and broad with plenty of substance. Pure and supple." James Suckling

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Querciabella's Riserva, with an annual production of 10,000 bottles, is a selection of the best lots. It blends fruit from Greve, where the vineyards lie between 350 and 550 metres above sea level, with grapes from the stony high altitudes of Radda and the chalky soils of Gaiole. Tantalising aromas of spring flowers, cranberries and potting soil are accompanied by vanilla and smoke. On the palate, it is polished and pure, with a delicious, tangy acidity and sinewy tannins. As every year, one of the most refined wines of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby colour with a dark core. Elegant on the nose with notes of hibiscus, juniper berries, plus some saddle leather and undergrowth. Precise on the palate, fine tannins and fresh acidity, with pleasant pressure towards the lingering finish." Falstaff
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2020, which has just been bottled, is still a little restrained. Crushed red flowers, mint, white pepper, aniseed and orange peel give the 2020 a beautiful aromatic brilliance that matches its medium-bodied personality. We find a Riserva of linear intensity and power, more than volume. The vineyard sites are Greve, Lamole and Radda." Vinous
"The Querciabella Riserva is a selection of the estate's best parcels. The bottling of the 2020 vintage shows the generosity and grace of the vintage. Attractive pressed flowers, plums and red berries intertwine with subtle wood smoke. Garden herbs and tangerines emerge on the palate. The tannins are assertive yet supple and sweet, culminating in a chalky grip. This invigorating and bright wine is already very enticing - but there is much more to discover." Decanter
"Aromas and flavours of cherries, raspberries, rosehips and black pepper characterise this bright red wine. It is light on its feet, but a hint of nubby tannins coats the finish. A hint of bitter almond lingers on the finish, along with fruit and spice flavours. It shows good balance and length." Wine Spectator
"Crisp and vibrant red berries with dried flowers, savoury herbs, cedar and spice box. Medium-bodied with fine, powdery tannins and lively acidity. Fresh and concentrated with a linear finish. Crisp with a mineral backbone." James Suckling

“Incanto” Sassella Valtellina Superiore DOCG 2020
This smooth and exceptionally polished Valtellina Superiore comes from Sassella, one of the most famous villages in the Valtellina appellation on the north bank of the River Adda. Bright ruby red in colour. Camphor, wild roses, wild berries and hints of graphite and vanilla are the main characters in this fragrant red wine. Straightforward and elegantly structured, it reveals red cherry, pomegranate and liquorice on the palate, accompanied by present but fine tannins. The lively acidity provides the necessary drive, including further ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"A well-balanced Nebbiolo with notes of red berries, bark and forest floor. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Velvety with a juicy core of red berries. Fresh and delightful." James Suckling

Barbaresco Serraboella DOCG 2020
Medium ruby red with orange-coloured reflections. Deep, concentrated bouquet with some lift and brooding intensity. Concentrated and long, but convincingly balanced by an integrated acidity and a rich layer of sandy tannins. Good potential, even if it can be enjoyed now. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very pale ruby in the glass, with mushroom earthiness, straw, strawberry, cinnamon and a meaty touch. This fierce character is supported by a very savoury attack, with delicate acid, polished and vibrant tannins: a large palate and a lot of details. There is great balance despite a bit of austerity on the finish. Super-classic for ageing." Decanter
"Fresh and crunchy with red fruit, dried herbs, potpourri and moist earth. Medium- to full-bodied with firm tannins, that are ripe and velvety. Dry and a little chewy at the end with attractive fruit coming through." James Suckling
"Packaged with a black label and eye-catching lettering in red, the Fontanabianca 2020 Barbaresco Serraboella reveals a very fine, almost dusty personality with wild berry, crushed rose and wet river stone. The wine is beautifully balanced, with dry tannins presented next to delicately sweet berry fruit. The Serraboella shows the careful winemaking practiced at this estate. Only 4,000 bottles were made." Wine Advocate
"Reserved yet somewhat haunting on the nose, this wine presents pristine dark-berried fruit aromas, dried rose and savory spices. Warmed and macerated black cherry shines on the palate, accompanied by mouthwatering acidity and a solid earthy bass note with firm, yet fine tannins. This wine is meant to be savored." “Mason” Pinot Nero Alto Adige DOC 2021 (BIO)
"Four hectares are planted with Pinot Nero in this unique location: a south-facing high plateau, constantly exposed to the wind, ideal for the narrow-berried Pinot grapes." Michael Graf Goëss-Enzenberg, Weingut Manincor
Rich ruby red, ripe fruit flavours with fresh mineral spice reveal the complexity of a great Pinot Noir. Juicy, yet velvety, fine-grained tannins and perfect structure on the palate, balanced and harmonious on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, medium ruby colour with a narrow rim. Medium intensity on the nose, sour cherry, wild berries, marzipan, a hint of cedar. In the mouth with creamy fruit, fine tannins, great freshness and a persistent finish." Falstaff
"A vibrant red, with a bright spiciness in the concentrated flavours of raspberry puree, blood orange peel, chopped thyme and rosemary. Along with hints of loamy earth and spice, this light to medium-bodied version offers light, chalky tannins that provide crisp definition on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2021 Mason Pinot Noir is dusty and floral, with rose tones and dried strawberries forming its delicate bouquet. It is round with juicy acidity and fresh red and blue fruits. The 2021 is energetic and fresh from start to finish, ending with soft tannins and a hint of raspberry and liquorice." Vinous
"Mason comes from the four-hectare, south-facing Mazzon vineyard at an altitude of 400-450 metres. This Pinot has quite a woody profile, imbued with vibrant, juicy cherry and floral aromas and a concentrated core of pure raspberry and pomegranate flavours. On the palate, it is carried by supple, almost invisible tannins, with woody notes and sweet spice on the fresh, juicy finish." Decanter
"Aromas of roses, cranberries and violets follow through to a medium body, with polished tannins and a brightness and freshness. Fine tannins and polish." James Suckling

"A luscious cherry and raspberry center gives this wine a generous, welcoming profile despite typically taut tannins. Great acidity balances the delicious red fruits that build on the palate and linger in the finish." James Suckling
"Simmering black cherry aromas dusted with a full spice cabinet lift from the glass in an almost ghostly manner. Dried rose petals along side sage, bay leaf, thyme and black tea develop as the wine opens. Just like a wave the wine stars off in the distance but swells to a crescendo of tart red fruits, savory spices, tobacco and dried earth. Elegant tannins hold the wine in place wanting to share the load with a savory dish of roasted meats and veggies." Wine Enthusiast

“Curubella” Pinot Grigio Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2020
Livio Felluga's new crus are the result of massalselection. Selected vines in particularly favourable locations are reproduced in order to renew vineyards with particularly high-quality vines and further improve the quality of individual varietal wines.
Named after the Curubella vineyard, this Pinot Grigio expresses the unique and very expressive terroir in a very special way. Golden yellow with copper-coloured reflections, the result of a long maceration period. Autumnal notes of medlar, jasmine and white pepper on the nose, rounded off with elderberry, marjoram, melon and orange zest. Powerful and expressive on the firm palate with candied fruit, spice and floral elements. Traces of acacia honey and biscuits on the long finish. Complex and deep with a very clear personality, freshness and beautiful minerality. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Livio Felluga 2020 Friuli Colli Orientali Pinot Grigio Curubella is a fascinating wine that reveals a slightly pink or copperish hue (called "ramato" in Italian) that comes thanks to some minimal skin contact. That pretty intensity translates to both the bouquet and the mouthfeel of this special wine that is aged in vessels made with a composite of cement known as cocciopesto. Sweet peach, grapefruit and spicy saffron emerge, and the wine is broad and even a touch sweet. It also offers drying mineral tones in contrast." Wine Advocate
"Flavoured with candied mandarins and peach peel as well as dried herbs and a hint of cream. Medium to full-bodied. On the palate, it is very full-bodied and long-lasting and very balanced. It is polished and even with a balanced acidity and a somewhat firm, phenolic backbone. Exciting and nervous, but also very elegant." James Suckling

Sangioveto di Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)
Sangioveto, which consists of 100% organic Sangiovese, is grown in cool locations at an altitude of 260 to 370 metres with a south-westerly exposure. In the past, Sangiovese was called "Sangioveto" or "San Zoveto". It represents a refined expression from this particular part of the appellation and a very faithful interpretation of the Tuscan grape.
Bright ruby red in colour, the broad aroma spectrum of Sangiovese ranges from sweet vanilla notes to hints of raspberries and blackberries. The relaxed flavour is dense and creamy-soft, offering a harmonious blend of tannins and alcohol with a precisely adjusted acidity level. The finish is long-lasting and impressive. SUPERIORE.DE
"On the nose, it has notes of plums, olives, cloves and tomato leaves. It is spicy and slightly chewy with a medium body and piquant acidity. A strong finish." James Suckling

Barbaresco DOCG 2021
"For us, it is important that a good Barbaresco fully expresses its characteristics: elegance, finesse and harmony. The 2020 vintage has given us a complete wine that is very fascinating and has excellent ageing potential. Although it is drinkable now, we recommend storing a few bottles to observe its development. We are excited to see how it will develop over the coming years." Franco Massolino
The grapes for Massolino's Barbaresco come from the Starderi, Albesani and Serraboella vineyards. Medium garnet red in colour with rust-red highlights. A charming bouquet of bright red fruit, rose petals and violets. Rather delicate on the palate, with an elegance and finesse that is completely convincing even at a young age. As it progresses, it reveals a seductive fruit centre, fine tannins and a well-proportioned acidity structure that open up a great future for it. Very well made! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, light garnet red colour. Delicate, restrained nose of small red fruits and sour cherry, with a leather and light undergrowth aftertaste. Retronasal clearly redcurrant, elegant palate with fine-grained tannins, good drinking flow, needs some air and should be decanted." Falstaff
"Brilliant medium carmine red colour. Dark cherry, which becomes mineral and salty with air. Loosened up and a little balsamic with a hint of liquorice. Fresh cherry and raspberry flavours with grippy tannins." Jancis Robinson
"Aromas of herbs, twigs and savoury spices intertwine with macerating red berries and a hint of mushrooms. Beautifully firm tannins frame fresh red berry flavours bursting with vitality, while sweet spices accompany the palate through to an elegant finish." Wine Enthusiast
"A floral nose with aromas of red cranberries. Lots of juicy red and black fruit on the palate, powerful and firmly structured, full with tannins and bright acidity." Decanter
"Bright aromas of cinnamon and earthy strawberries with violets and dried cherries. Powerful, with pronounced acidity, dusty but ripe tannins and ripe fruit on the finish. An accessible Barbaresco that will also age well." James Suckling
"The 2021 Barbaresco is a blend from parcels in Albesani, Serraboella and Starderi. Graceful and nuanced, the 2021 offers notes of crushed flowers, orange peel, mint, sweet red berries and spices. The harvestwill find a Barbaresco in a class of its own. Outstanding flavours, a medium-weight structure and persistent but fine tannins give the wine its shape. This is wonderfully made." Vinous
"Aromas and flavours of cherry, strawberry, rose, hay and white pepper combine with a firm structure and lively acidity in this expressive, complex red wine, which is harmonious and long in the fruity and spicy finish." Wine Spectator
