“Massetino” Toscana IGT 2021 · 3 bottles in OWC
2017 was the very first vintage of Massetino. It was launched in 2019, exactly 30 years after the first Massetino vintage. The newly designed wine cellar by Italian architects Zito & Mori was also inaugurated in 2019. The birth of the second wine and the opening of the wine cellar represent a historic moment for Masseto and clearly contribute to its recognition as a winery.
Massetino already shows a self-confident personality, which is not surprising as he shares the same pedigree with Masseto. Just like its older brother, it skilfully showcases the contrast between power and opulence combined with restraint and class. The high quality potential, which was already evident when tasting the grapes before the harvest, is fully expressed in the quality profile of Massetino 2021. A solid, crisp wine with a bright colour. Its flavours are memorable thanks to their richness and long finish. Lively, young tannins that are constantly evolving give the wine consistency and persistence on the palate. Massetino 2021 proves to be just as powerful as the vintage from which it comes. SUPERIORE.DE
"With the Cabernet Franc in the blend, the Massetino gains more and more character and impresses as a 2021 at an extremely high level. Dark, viscous colour. Dense, sweet and offensive, the aroma of the Massetino is very fresh and polished, multi-layered and clear. It is by no means opulent, but rather extremely focussed, with fine fruit and excellent depth. Full, sweet and viscous on the palate, ripe and dense, with plenty of body and richness. Its terrific, youthful structure contains the finest wood and a great finesse, very linear, powerful and salty long. The powerful tannins appear slightly roughened in the fine finish. A great second wine, of which unfortunately only a few are produced." Weinwisser
"Rich, deep dark ruby colour with a fine violet sheen. Dark and dense nose, showing appealing notes of cedar wood, blackberries and dark plums. Firm and full-bodied in attack and finish, with pronounced notes of tobacco, blackberry and brown butter, grippy, gripping tannins." Falstaff
"Elegant and lively, this red flows beautifully and builds to a long, savoury finish. It offers flavours of blackberries, blackcurrants, violets, cocoa, minerals and fresh herbs that linger, while lively acidity and powdery tannins provide structure." Wine Spectator
"The Massetino 2021 is an extremely elegant and graceful wine. Silky tannins caress a core of blackberries, espresso, mocha, liquorice, cloves and lavender. All elements are so beautifully balanced in this very appealing, racy second wine from Masseto." Vinous
"Sweet berries with aromas of violets and roses. Raspberries. Very perfumed. Medium body with very fine, velvety tannins that extend over the entire length of the wine. Lively on the finish. The best so far." James Suckling
"The Masseto 2021 Massetino consists mainly of Merlot with a hint of Cabernet Franc. The wine is very richly concentrated and multi-layered. You can see (and taste) the opulent texture of the wine as it slowly spreads in the glass. The high-quality fruit is accompanied by carefully selected oak, and the intensity of both unfolds on the palate. This vintage is predestined for particularly long ageing in the cellar." Rare, exceptional Merlot from the west of Tuscany: deep ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet is multi-layered with hints of wild berries and blackberries, ripe cherries, but also liquorice and tobacco notes. Very structured and lively on the palate. The silky tannins emphasise the delicate minerality right through to the almost endless finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright ruby red colour. Fine black cherry on the nose, with fine yeasty tones, black bread, blackcurrants, precious wood, cold smoke. Great texture on the palate, full on the tongue, with spicy fruit and rich tannins, fiery, with some wood overhang, still very young, needs patience." Falstaff
"This lean version exudes aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, plum and iron. It is also powerful, with strong tannins, but it is the lively acidity that defines the long, oak-infused aftertaste at the end." Wine Spectator
"The Tua Rita 2021 Redigaffi is a wine with dense character and dark extraction. This 100% Merlot offers tension and extreme balance with very generous flavours of dark cherries, plums, dried blackberries, spices and tobacco. Its texture is spectacularly soft and velvety, its body is full-bodied. Redigaffi is often monolithic and monotonous when young, and it needs more time in the bottle to develop." Wine Advocate
"The 2021 Redigaffi is superb. Silky, dense and expansive, with terrific depth, it possesses striking nuance from start to finish. Black cherry, plum, espresso, licorice and menthol infuse the 2021 with tons of resonance. Here, too, the approach is quite a bit dialed back from the early days." Vinous
"Wow. The flavours are really something else with red fruits, black olives, spices like cardamom and nutmeg and hints of tar and meat. It's full-bodied yet controlled and focused with fine, subtle tannins that roll across the palate and create beautiful movement. Powerful yet silky and endless. A great young Merlot and one of the best for a few years." James Suckling

“Redigaffi” Merlot Toscana IGT 2022 · Double MAGNUM in OWC
Rare, exceptional Merlot from the west of Tuscany: deep ruby red with violet reflections. The bouquet is multi-layered with hints of wild berries and blackberries, ripe cherries, but also liquorice and tobacco notes. Very structured and lively on the palate. The silky tannins emphasise the delicate minerality right through to the almost endless finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Invitingly sparkling ruby-purple colour. Rich, appealing nose, rich in blueberries and blackberries, cassis, some dark bread crust, oregano behind it. Full-bodied and compact at the attack and on the palate, rich blueberry and blackberry flavours, grippy, hearty tannins, young but very well integrated, spans a wide range." Falstaff
"One of Italy's greatest Merlots, the Tua Rita 2022 Redigaffi is packed tight with sweet fruit, blackberry preserves, sweet spice and toasted oak. This is a fleshed out and generous expression with lots of proverbial fruit stuffing and volume. The overall message here is elegance." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of crushed fruit and white pepper with dried lavender and hints of violet and sage flowers. Also stony undertones. Medium to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, with reserve and beauty. On the palate, it unfolds with polished and concentrated tannins that take it to another level. It radiates freshness and length, despite the hot growing season. A refined red wine with a long future ahead of it." James Suckling

“Vigna L’Apparita” Merlot Toscana IGT 2018 · 6 bottles in OWC
The single-varietal Merlot L'Apparita 2018 is outstanding - elegance, strength of character, a remarkably fine tannin and acid structure as well as the endlessly long persistence characterise this exceptional Merlot. An oenological rarity of Tuscany and not only therefore an object of desire every year. On the nose, a combination of fruity and spicy impressions, excellent fleshy taste, whose juicy, still quite concise tannin blends well with the warm body. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, intense ruby with a pronounced violet shimmer. Rich nose with notes of mulberries and black cherries, fine spicy components in the background. Shows a lot of dark fruit on the nose, then opens up with lots of tightly woven tannin in several layers, can quietly mature a bit more." Falstaff
"Black currant, black cherry, blueberry, wild herb and earth flavors are nicely displayed on the polished frame of this fluid and harmonious red, with dusty tannins lining the finish. More on the elegant side than powerful." Wine Spectator
"One of the rare instances where Merlot excels in Tuscany, this gorgeous wine opens with enticing aromas of dark-skinned berry, new leather, camphor and dark spice. Continuing where the nose left off, the elegant, delicious palate delivers cassis, ripe blackberry, licorice and crushed mint alongside the barest note of truffle. It's a world-class wine with breeding, extreme finesse and great depth. It's impeccably balanced, with a backbone of velvety tannins and fresh acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"Hard dark-chocolate aromas with blackberries and blue fruit. Pure and gorgeous. Full-bodied with gorgeous, polished tannins that are intense and powerful, yet ever so precise and together. It’s so curated and real with a great finish. One of the best merlots from Ama in a long time." James Suckling
"The 2018 L'Apparita is a total stunner. Ama's 100% Merlot is usually a wine of bombastic intensity, but the 2018 marks a departure from that style, as it is all finesse and nuance. Blackberry jam, spice, menthol and lavender are some of the aromas and flavors that open in an Apparita that dazzles with its precision and nuance. Rain at the end of August pushed out harvest and gave Marco Pallanti the ideal conditions to craft this gorgeous wine." Vinous
"This wine has earned its spot in a world of pantheons that is grande vini Italiani. The Castello di Ama 2018 L'Apparita is one of the world's greatest Merlots, and this slightly cooler growing season delivers on all the promise and pedigree that we should expect of this collectors' favorite. L'Apparita opens to an inky dark and blackish appearance, and the bouquet slowly reveals black fruit, ripe cherry, dark spice, smoke and barbecue rub. The wine's texture and finish, which is so velvety and rich, so supple and soft, is what will ultimately win you over. Indeed, this wine excels especially in terms of the elegance and fullness of the mouthfeel." Wine Advocate

“Messorio” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019 · Double MAGNUM in gift box
Messorio has been undisputedly one of Italy's best and rarest Merlots since the mid-1990s. Soft, rich, elegant, refined and never overdone. On the nose, ripe fruit, coffee, graphite and French oak. Structured and balanced, Messorio fascinates the international wine world every year with a clarity and length that is unparalleled. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, intense ruby with violet glints. Opens with notes of forest floor, cedar wood and pine needles, then blueberry and blackberry, inviting. Very juicy, lots of dark fruit, opens with fine-meshed, very well-placed tannin, shows good drinking flow, juicy, very long finish." Falstaff
"Bright cassis, straw and graphite on the nose - all are the more overt characters typical of Bolgheri's solar Merlot. The concentrated fruit is dense and fleshy on the palate, with an oaky, slightly chalky and austere character as well as velvety tannins and a graceful finish of cedar. Assertive yet integrated acidity balances the alcohol. Great ageing potential." Decanter
"Le Macchiole is always distinguished by its deadly balance, and the Messorio is no exception. Cherries, cranberries, wild herbs and earth on the nose continue on the palate before pepper, charred meat and a juicy spiciness emerge on the finish. Tannins that unwind with ease and a palpable spiciness keep things exciting; a pleasure in the moment, but seeing what happens next will be worth the wait." Wine Enthusiast
"Le Macchiole's great challenge on pure Merlot, obtained with a prophetic 'subtraction' work. Black raspberry, juniper and liquorice on the nose, with small touches of nutmeg, on the palate tense-dense and juicy-savoury, with a fruity and undergrowth return." Luca Gardini
"Blackberry, oyster shell, iodine and black olive. Also some caraway and thyme. Full-bodied with a very tight palate of firm tannins and fresh, mineral blue fruits. Needs time to open up and show its true potential. Try it after 2025." James Suckling
"At this stage it is strongly marked by new oak, with vanilla and toasted spices wrapped around a core of plum, black cherry, earth and cedar. Graceful and balanced, it firms up on the lingering finish. This is all about purity of fruit, finesse and length. Decant it now or let it age for 2-3 years." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Messorio combines the natural opulence of Merlot on the Tuscan coast with a finesse I have never seen here before. It has a lot of depth and resonance, but none of the heaviness that has been so en vogue for many years. Dark cherry, plum, spice, mocha and floral notes lead into a racy, exotic finish." Vinous
"The stunning Le Macchiole 2019 Messorio is a pure Merlot from a special 2.5 hectare parcel with a classic blend of Bolgheri soils with clay, silt, sandstone and limestone. The wine ferments in concrete and is aged in new barriques for 18 months. This beautiful wine exudes scents of cherries, blue flowers, iris roots, gravel and slate. Balanced oak tones add power and texture to the full-bodied finish." Wine Advocate

“Messorio” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021 · Double MAGNUM
Messorio has been undisputedly one of the best and rarest Merlots in Italy since the mid-1990s. Soft, rich, elegant, refined and never exaggerated. Ripe fruit, coffee, graphite and French oak on the nose. Structured and balanced, Messorio fascinates the international wine world every year with a clarity and length that is unrivalled. SUPERIORE.DE
"Seductive Merlot nose with aromas of red berries and flowers; crisp and youthful on the palate, juicy, the acidity vivid, long on notes of red berries, pepper and blood oranges on the finish. Already a pleasure, but also with potential for ageing." Vinum
"Powerful, bright ruby colour with a fine violet sheen. Intense and inviting nose, full of blackberries and blueberries, with fine spicy notes of cedar and pine cones. Very well-developed fruit on the palate, juicy and crisp, lots of fine tannins, spans a wide arc, fine spicy notes on the final." Falstaff
"Messorio, the pure Merlot from Le Macchiole, which shines with energy and fragrance in 2021. It is produced in the same way as the Paleo and is a blend of two parcels and six vinifications. It smells of Mediterranean scrub, sweet cherry, violet, plum and spices, while the firm, grainy palate promises bright, lively and fleshy fruit once bottle ageing has relaxed it. An outstanding Merlot." Decanter
"A lively Merlot on the nose with aromas of plum, berry, clove and cedar, as well as undertones of bark and five spice. Full-bodied yet balanced and energetic, with a driving acidity and fine tannins that frame the wine nicely and give it energy and drive. Sweet tobacco to the fruit." James Suckling
"The Messorio 2021 is a classic wine with firm lines and an almost glossy texture, due to the very warm but balanced conditions of this growing season. The fruit is bold and expressive with deep layers of Amarena cherries that fade into toasted spices, brown sugar and even a hint of olive oil focaccia. Similar to the Paleo (Cabernet Franc) and Scrio (Syrah) from Cinzia Merli, this wine has a floral signature that reminds me of freesia (with the peppery notes) or a green calla lily. The tannins are very polished and finely balanced. Of the five flavour elements we perceive - sweetness, saltiness, acidity, bitterness and umami - Messorio is completely umami." Wine Advocate
"Plum, pomegranate and blackberry fruit are framed by toasted oak and vanilla notes in this fresh, brilliant red. Iron and tobacco accents add detail as it transitions into the long, lush finish. The tannins are present, but remain within limits and leave a mouth-flattering impression. This wine is more about finesse than power, showing balance and length." Wine Spectator
Relentless is the word that comes to mind at the first sip of Messorio 2021. Winemaking in Bolgheri has only become more complicated in recent vintages, and most people would point to the Merlot vineyards as the place where the oncoming storm strikes first, but like a lighthouse whose light is better appreciated not despite but because of the adverse conditions, Le Macchiole's Messorio seems to shine even brighter under duress. A beacon of light." Wine Enthusiast
"The Messorio 2021 is a wine of pure and complete sensuality. Dark, layered and enveloping, the 2021 offers a remarkable textural richness from start to finish. Dark red fruits, spice, mocha, new leather and liquorice fill out the layers effortlessly. There is plenty of energy and depth to balance some of the more overt qualities. These days, Messorio is not as opulent as it was in the 1990s when it became an icon in Italy, but there is simply no denying the Maremma's natural aptitude for producing exotic, luscious Merlots. It is a great achievement by Le Macchiole." Vinous

SUPERIORE.DE
"Multi-layered bouquet with concentrated elegance, mint, tar, liquorice, cocoa, blueberry, blackberry and blood orange. Very broad and deeply layered. The elegant palate continues with ethereal spice and melting, this Merlot is dense and tightly woven, enormously long and persistent, with a lot of mineral, balsamic spice and saltiness on the finish." Weinwisser
"Sparkling, rich ruby colour with a slightly brightening rim. Opens with fine spicy notes of cardamom and graphite, then lots of blackberry and mulberry. Full-bodied and rich in attack and finish, lots of dark berry fruit, tightly woven, densely woven tannins, surrounded by fine enamel, full-bodied pressure." Falstaff
"In the glass, the wine is dark garnet in colour and captivates with its aromas of cassis and leaves, which contrast with a dark, fleshy note and a loamy minerality. The dense, viscous and velvety palate is balanced by crisp acidity, slightly grainy, youthful tannins and a polished finish." Decanter
"Pure and elegant, with a core of blackberry, black cherry, violet, iron and oak spice flavours. The solid tannins provide some backbone, while the velvety texture emphasises the grace of this wine. Excellent balance and length." Wine Spectator
"Intense aromas of sandalwood, lavender, crushed stone, inkwell and blue fruit transition into a medium body, with beautiful tannins and tension that add energy and vibrancy. Excellent freshness for 2020, with blackcurrants, black olives and violets in the aftertaste." James Suckling
"The Messorio 2020 is a deep and richly structured wine that has become one of the flagships of winemaker Cinza Merli. Ripe fruit, dark cherries, oak spice and roasted aromas combine with balanced intensity to characterise this generous expression from Tuscany. The problem with Merlot, especially in a hot vintage like this one, is ripeness, or more precisely, over-ripeness. Messorio masters a difficult growth phase with flying colours." Wine Advocate
"The Messorio 2020 is fabulous. Once an opulent, full-bodied wine, the Messorio has now evolved into a much more restrained Merlot. The 2020 has a lot of energy and seems to have a great future once it has developed properly. I really admire the vibrancy of this wine. The 2020 matured for 18 months in 100% French oak, 5% of the wine was aged in amphorae." Wine Advocate
"The nose is reminiscent of a private library with old books on the shelves, dried lavender and violets on the desk and rays of sunshine and humid air from outside streaming through the curtains, held in check by a smoky warmth from the fireplace. The palate unfolds with an abundance of berries, chocolate and spice, with a salty astringency in the background. Tannins and acidity that are quiet at first, but then flare up." Wine Enthusiast

“Masseto” Toscana IGT 2021 · MAGNUM in OWC
So much verve and purity, integration and harmony can be found in the Masseto 2021. Black raspberry, mulberry, a hint of toasted brioche. A beautiful natural sweetness, plus a delicacy and subtlety that is simply beautiful and tantalising. Black biros ink and more and more cedar wood with gentle aeration. Creamy. Essences of petals - with a little more lilac, lily and hyacinth than rose. Then graphite again. A wonderful texture on the finish, as soft and caressing as a million layers (milles feuilles plus!) of silk, but actually with a deeper and richer texture - so more cashmere perhaps than silk. Lively, flowing, dynamic and incredibly juicy. Radiant in its incredible dynamism and energy. Very special and above all endless on the finish. Wow! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, intense ruby colour with violet shimmer. Very appealing and rich nose of cassis, blackberry, dark tobacco and graphite. Dense, very concentrated tannins, builds up powerfully, lots of dark berry fruit, savoury and with great length on the final." Falstaff
"Probably the flagship of the Merlot grape variety in Italy: with a harmonious bouquet of mulberries, herbal notes, including rosemary, the wood perfectly integrated; powerful on the palate and yet elegant, powdery, fine-grained tannins, beautiful progression towards flavours of dark berries, undergrowth and chocolate. Despite the fullness of this vintage, it also has a great deal of finesse." Vinum
"The Masseto 2021 is once again 100% Merlot. The last vintages contained a tiny proportion of Cabernet Franc. It is a very rich and elaborate wine with corresponding extract, firm tannins and a high alcohol content of 15.5%. The wine smells of confit blackberries and cooked cherries, with a broad palette of sweet oak spices to finish. There is dark chocolate with a thin layer of creamy mint flavour. Given this richness and generous fruit weight, the Masseto is quite a commitment in terms of price and further cellaring. Further bottle ageing is an absolute must." Wine Advocate
"Blueberries and black olives with violets and hints of sage and rosemary flowers. Full and powerful with lots of fruit and vanilla on the palate. A rich and flavourful red wine that is nevertheless beautifully held together. Muscular and powerful. Needs five or six years to develop. Give it time." James Suckling
"After a mild and wet winter, the spring was dry and the summer was characterised by above-average temperatures and periods of drought. Fortunately, the vines were able to be quenched by the water reserves built up at the beginning of the year. The Masseto 2021 really has it all: a vertical shape and savoury character, juicy fruit, a fresh profile and finesse of tannins. Mediterranean herbs accompany ripe, dark fruit aromas and flavours that have yet to develop their full depth and charm." Decanter
"Plum and blackberry flavours are wrapped in an embrace of toasted oak, with vanilla, resin and iron accents. Dense tannins coat the gums, while bright acidity keeps this wine focused and drives the savoury aftertaste. This fluid and long, silky red wine impresses with its finesse. A great success in a great vintage." Wine Spectator
"The Masseto 2021 is a real eye-catcher. It also shows how much the winery has developed in recent years. I was reminded of this recently when I drank the 2001, which is considered by many observers, including this one, to be one of the greatest wines ever made here. The 2021 represents a move towards a more refined style. It has less of the bombastic intensity and extraction that was once the norm here. The 2021 is an absolute delight. Crushed flowers, spices, blood orange and bright, red-coloured fruit adorn the palate. The harvestwill find a Masseto based more on linear energy than volume. The 2021 is quite simply the most exquisite, refined young Masseto I have ever tasted." Vinous

The vines for Masseto are on a 6.63 hectare vineyard site belonging to Tenuta dell'Ornellaia. Situated at an altitude of 120m, the soil consists of sand, gravel and clay. It ensures that the precipitation does not seep through but is stored. Bolgheri often suffers from drought in summer. Masseto 2015 wanders impressively between power and elegance. It presents a balance and just the right amount of integration to promise a long and healthy future. It is densely woven, has a beautiful texture and creaminess that makes it sheerly seductive. Aromas of dark cherries and spices that are superbly in harmony. A rich Merlot, downright lush - without ever seeming wasteful. SUPERIORE.DE
"There are not many purely varietal Merlots of this class in the world, although it should not be forgotten that the Masseto is characterised by a Mediterranean climate. It is softer, juicier, sweeter than the wines from Pomerol, which grow in the Atlantic-continental climate and have a different style. The 2015 could go down in the annals of Masseto: a dark, crazy complex wine, still in barrel and masked by toasty, toasty notes. The summer of 2015 was dry and hot, while September was cool, so this Masseto has a great tension and a vibrant freshness. A very balanced wine with masses of sweet, concentrated tannin that has melded perfectly. 'Future legendary vintage' says Axel Heinz. He might be right." Dr Jens Priewe (weinkenner.de)
"Darkly spicy, extremely complex and interwoven with ethereal, toasty notes, it expresses this often encountered, typically mysterious and "dark side" of Masseto. In the mouth, it is multi-faceted and of finesse-rich elegance, with a silky, almost chocolate-like tannin structure on the one hand and its vital, almost energetic freshness on the other. A wine that already scores with great balance and amazing grip and gives the experienced taster a first glimpse into its wide-stretched ramifications. For this, I give the very rarely awarded maximum score in the sense of a potential score of 99-100." Weinwisser
"Shiny, rich ruby with violet glints. Very appealing, almost plump nose, full of ripe blackberries, some blueberries, plus nuances of dark chocolate, fine cedar wood. Gripping and full-bodied on the palate, lots of rich, densely meshed tannin, unfolds in fine layers, lots of ripe berry fruit, plus fine spicy components, salty and with great tension, a dream wine!" Falstaff
"Celebrated as one of Masseto's best vintages, warm and rich yet balanced, the 2015 does not disappoint. Dark crimson in the glass, it packs a punch with clove, face powder, a minty character and plummy fruit. The palate is stylish with graphite minerality, chocolate and sweet tobacco finely knitted with firm tannins of an outstanding weight on the mid-palate. A high-flying Masseto built to last." Decanter
"This red leads off with exquisite notes of vanilla and toast, framing black cherry, blackberry, cedar and iron flavors. Ripe and powerful, yet polished and silky, with dense tannins well-integrated into the structure. The fruit returns in the end, along with a licorice note. A superb young version, showing fine potential." Wine Spectator
"The 2015 Masseto is simply extraordinary. Soft, silky and seamless, the 2015 possesses remarkable balance and harmony from the very first taste. What surprises me most about the 2015 is how fresh and vibrant the flavors are. Sweet red cherry, pomegranate, mint, and wild flowers are all beautifully lifted in this exquisitely perfumed, gracious Masseto. Despite the warm, drought conditions of the early summer, the 2015 is a wine of mid-weight structure, polish and restraint. In this tasting, it positively dazzles. I can't remember ever tasting a young Masseto with this much pure harmony. Other vintages have been super-impressive upon release. The 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2013 all come to mind. But the 2015 has a level of pure sensuality and allure none of those vintages had when young, with the possible exception of the 2004." VINOUS
"The aromas are profound here with a deep and vast character of black olives, cedar, chocolate and berries, as well as vanilla essence and light coffee. Flamboyant. Full-bodied, this powerful young Masseto is chewy, muscular and rich. Dusty tannins, yet wonderfully polished. A wine for the cellar." James Suckling
"The release of this wine comes at a very happy time for the Masseto brand. The stunning 2015 Masseto is hitting the market just as the final touches are being made to the new Masseto winery. I'm told that Masseto might one day see other wines made under that same roof, so we can't exclude a future enlargement of the Masseto portfolio. The Masseto vineyard now covers seven hectares (divided into three plots), and the vines range from 30 to 40 years old. The wine is absolutely teeming with sensorial spirit that is transmitted through the bounty of the bouquet and the solid tannins of the mouthfeel. Nothing about the wine goes unnoticed or unchecked. Its many working pieces fit together with precision like a well-oiled machine. The 2015 vintage is characterized by a level of sheer exuberance that also defined the 2004 and 2007 vintages. Yet, it also reveals similar power, directness and linearity that we saw in the 2010 vintage. The 2015 Masseto takes the best of all those past vintages and confines those qualities to this single, spectacular bottle." Wine Advocate
