This rare extra virgin olive oil comes from Veneto, the trees of the Grignano variety grow around Fittà near Soave. The fruit for this pure and certified organic olive oil is hand-picked and gently cold-pressed. It flows out of the bottle in a rich, golden yellow colour with light green reflections. The nose is delicately fruity and very fragrant, with notes of lemon leaves and white flowers. On the palate, it has a slight sharpness and the pleasant flavour of almonds and citrus fruits. Very appetising Sauvignon Blanc from Tuscany, fermented in steel, wood and terracotta. Pale straw yellow in colour, with a beautiful aroma of light berries, mint, chamomile and wild flowers. The grapes come mainly from the historic Russeghine vineyard above the town of Ranzo Borgo. The character of the Pigato here is of particular depth and minerality, which is due to the exceptional terroir and the long maturation on the fine lees. For us, one of the best Nebbiolo from the Langhe. Some winemakers would make the entry-level Barolo from this excellent base wine from younger parcels. Exciting, balsamic, white cuvée from Vermentino, Trebbiano and Malvasia - with a handful of Traminer and Riesling. Initially reductive on the nose, then dark yellow fruit, some smoke. Bernardina is a wine with an interesting history. The Bernardina vineyard was once part of a 600-hectare estate belonging to a noble family who did not care much for wine. When the appellation boundaries for Barolo were established, this family never lobbied to become part of the area now registered for the production of Barolo DOCG. Today, the vineyard is managed by the Ceretto family, who have instead focussed on the production of Nebbiolo d'Alba. Nebbiolo d'Alba is an appellation in which the grapes from the Barolo and Barbaresco wine regions have been declassified and which is becoming increasingly popular.

Fragrant and floral with aromas of rose petals, violets and wild berries. The finish is polished and clean with hints of smoke, liquorice and tar. The wine has had a short maturation period in barriques, which gives it impressive complexity and length. SUPERIORE.DE

Villa di Capezzana is considered one of the longest-lived wines in Tuscany, with a vertical tasting of 20 vintages dating back to 1937 - none of the vintages showed any signs of fatigue. The wine is fermented spontaneously and matured in large and small wooden barrels, a third of the small wood is renewed every year. Dark ruby red in colour. Black cherries, blackberries, cassis and fine woods dominate the nose. On the palate, the wine is firm, well-structured and has a long finish. Decanting recommended. SUPERIORE.DE

The anniversary edition of the Novecento opens on the nose with layers of dark fruits, spices, tar and smoke. Then on the palate, there is terrific depth and hints of earth or crushed black rock. Bright green olive oil from the groves of the Sicilian winery Gulfi. The Hyblean Mountains, also known as Monti Iblei, are home to this extra virgin olive oil from controlled organic cultivation. The olives, mainly of the Tonda Iblea variety, are carefully picked by hand and pressed exclusively by mechanical means.

"There are around 1,500 olive trees on our estate. Many of them are centuries old. And we feel an obligation towards them, a historical memory that flows through our veins today. I would never dare to say that our oil is the best oil in the world. There is no such thing as the best oil in the world. I would say that there are certainly others who look after their trees and their olives like we do, but none who do it more than we do.

Our trees have always been grown organically. They are carefully pruned every two years. The olives are all picked by hand and the day's harvest is pressed every evening. The oil is decanted and naturally clarified until February/March and bottled without filtration. Our volcanic soils give it sweetness, finesse and flavour.
