Prinsipi from the small vineyard parcel of the same name was once developed by son Fabio as a 100 per cent Chardonnay and "little brother" of Bastia, but now 10 per cent Manzoni Bianco is added, which gives it more freshness and lightness. What also distinguishes it from the famous Chardonnay is the ageing in stainless steel. A fresh, crisp and very drinkable white wine that cuts a fine figure not only on its own and is now a firm favourite in the (now also organic) range. SUPERIORE.DE

A spectacular steep slope rises above the north-western shore of Lake Kaltern, one of the best vineyards in the area. "From the Lageder family’s 8ha Römigberg estate above Lake Caldaro, where pergola-trained Schiava grapes are farmed biodynamically. The fruit is fermented partly in large wooden barrels, partly in stainless steel, and with some extended skin contact. A pale bright garnet colour, the nose is rosy and smoky with notes of pomegranate and cranberry over intense, spicy notes of cinnamon and clove. It has a juicy, ripe and supple palate yet with underlying firmness and good balance with lovely acidity, finishing with notes of plum and woodsmoke. Delicious." Decanter

The warm sites around Tramin give this pretty Traminer aromatico substance, breadth and a certain sweetness, while the cool and higher sites in the Eisack Valley give it freshness, finesse and a fine aromatic structure. "The 2021 expresses the conditions of the vintage with an overall density, but remains balanced and agile. In-house Oenologist Giuseppe Rigoli explains that a small portion of the grapes were harvested very early to preserve freshness and the rest were brought in by the end of September. He also carried out a slightly shorter maceration of 15 days (compared to 20 days in 2020). The wine opens with a hint of vanilla and then fades into mint and violets. The sandy tannins envelop the concentrated red berries and grip powerfully on the finish. The original quality of the fruit shines through and the savoury nuances remain." Decanter

Maurizio Castelli does not like fancy names. That's why he took a simple but original approach when naming the estate and his top wine: 414, which is the number of the vineyard in the region's land register. And the Morellino 414 more than lives up to this clear line and proves its stature: smoky notes in the lively fruit bouquet, the contrasting, drinkable flavour convinces with aromatic power and structure. After organic certification was granted for the 2021 vintage, the next generation of Carlettis, namely Maria Stella and Francesco, began working on a new wine. It was to be a Rosso made from 100% Prugnolo Gentile, the local variety of Sangiovese. The vines for the single vineyard at high altitude were selected from ancient clones that had already given Montepulciano wines supra-regional importance in the Middle Ages.

Fiori Rosso, the winery's new "Super Rosso", surprises with its enormous fragrance, reminiscent of blood orange, dark cherries and mulberries, violets and violet flowers. Modern, velvety and accessible on the palate, yet sophisticated - an incredibly hedonistic wine whose label is a promise of the wine's fragrance and an allusion to the fields of flowers between the organic rows of vines. A Rosso that has been allowed to sow its wild oats in big wood, with extra fine tannins and already outrageously delicious in its youth. SUPERIORE.DE

Medium ruby red colour. Fine, red berry bouquet with hints of blackcurrant, black cherry, sage and smoky notes. Firm and expressive on the palate; multi-layered flavours of ripe wild berries, spices and a delicate almond note are flanked by velvety tannins. Lezér means "light" and so it is - in the most delicate sense. Light ruby red in colour, red berries and an interesting hint of violets on the nose. Smoke, freshly cut wood and a fine creaminess on the palate. A thoroughly fresh red wine right through to the finish, which goes well with warm weather and uncomplicated Mediterranean cuisine, especially when slightly chilled. Since the 2019 vintage, the successor to the famous "Eticchetta Blu" has been called "Maggiolo", derived from maggio (May) and giaggiolo (iris). The latter covers the fields in May with its flowers and floral scents, which we also find in the bouquet of this Chianti Classico. Bright ruby red in colour, fruity aromas of violets, mulberries, blackberries and blueberries as well as hints of sweet spices and cocoa. Very fresh and juicy on the palate, then the soft tannins envelop the pretty fruit centre and, together with a fine saltiness, lead into the medium-long finish.
