Dark and initially a little brooding, Sceg shimmers from the glass with a rich and earthy blend of plum sauce, brown spices and crushed autumn leaves. The wine is silky smooth and balanced by vibrant acidity, while a contrasting wave of black fruit with citrus flavours washes over the senses. Smoky nuances and hints of ash resonate. Yet it finishes remarkably fresh, leaving a subtle hint of mineral tannins that remind Basilicata connoisseurs that this is a young Aglianico in its purest form. “DA-DI” Bianco Toscana IGT 2023 (BIO)
The name Da-Di is derived from the Chinese and means earth/soil. DA-DI bianco was born from the intuition of the owner Virginie Saverys to rediscover the vocation of the Cortona area for the production of great white wines from indigenous grapes, and summarises all of Avignonesi's love of experimentation.
It opens intensely in the glass with floral notes of wisteria and lime, white peach and gooseberry. On the palate, the attack is precise and straightforward. Lemon peel, mint and the complexity of wildflower honey come to the fore. The pronounced acidity makes it long and elegant. Hints of flint bring back mineral notes in the aftertaste. An exciting wine with a distinct and fresh personality. Around 2,000 bottles were produced. SUPERIORE.DE

“Burdigai” Rosato Colline Savonesi IGT 2023 (BIO)
"Burdigai" is Ligurian dialect and means shrubs of the Mediterranean maquis. From a small and isolated terrace facing west, surrounded by Mediterranean shrubs, comes this truly original Rosato, which should not actually exist. Because the grape variety is unknown, it is alternatively called "Franseise" because it apparently comes from the south of France and not even the owners know the exact origin and age, nor do they know who planted the vines there in the first place. Nevertheless, the vines have been cultivated and cared for over decades and at some point the family council decided to press an independent rosé from them.
Intense coral pink, fine and original bouquet of pink grapefruit, raspberry and strawberry with subtle mineral notes. Very dry in the mouth, floral, with lively acidity and pronounced spiciness. Characteristic is the mineral-chalky impression at the back of the palate, which prolongs the wine's originality and tension. Frappato Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2023 (BIO)
This is one of the most interesting and expressive wines to come out of the Vittoria area of Sicily. The Frappato is tangy and sharp, linear and direct. And it reveals more depth and nuances than you would expect in this price range. Normally, a good Frappato always has an authentic and transparent expression. This unmasked openness is also present here, but there is also an almost accidental hint of balsamic herbs and bitter almonds, which lend it further tension and personality. It's a good thing that Titta Cilia and Giusto Occhipinti leave nothing to chance, and so this finesse-rich Frappato is rightly one of the region's most distinctive wines every year. SUPERIORE.DE
