“Il Blu” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)
Since its debut in 1988, Il Blu has been the result of constant striving for perfection. With ultra-fine tannins and a smooth and full finish, this full-bodied wine captivates with its complexity and elegance. Il Blu is made from only the best hand-picked and selected grapes from the two vineyards in the Chianti region. Although Sangiovese plays a leading role in the blend, its influence and signature contribute significantly to the overall identity of this special wine.
Rich, unfathomable ruby red. Explosive aromas of black cherries and blackberries on the nose. The texture is wonderfully balanced, on the palate Il Blu presents itself fresh, persistently powerful and with wonderfully articulated tannin. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark ruby red with a subtly lightening rim. Spicy, noble nose of ripe sour cherries, blackcurrants and elegant use of wood. Juicy on the palate, with clear, well-developed fruit, with still young tannin, still needs some time, salty and punchy on the final." Falstaff
"This is an organic blend that enjoys near iconic status here in Tuscany. Thanks to its long track record, you can count on this Tuscan blended red to deliver top quality. The Brancaia 2020 Il Blu is a full-bodied red with sweet fruit flavors and a rich, velvety texture." Wine Advocate
"Shows a resinous note from the oak that envelops ripe black cherry, plum, leather, mineral and tobacco flavors. This red just keeps building in intensity and fruit on the palate, ending with a succulent, fruit- and spice-infused aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Il Blu is superb. Dark and mysterious at first, the Blu offers up an exotic mélange of blue fruits, mocha, new leather, licorice and lavender. Bright acids play off some of the more over leanings beautifully. Il Blu has long been one of the most distinctive wines in Chianti Classico. The 2020 is another fine edition of Il Blu." Vinous
"Attractive blueberries, brambles and cherries with spiced orange peel and lilac blossom, as well as some smoky dark spices and cocoa. Full, concentrated and very tense, with tightly packed but very polished and fine tannins. Shows a succulence and vibrancy to the fruit with a mineral, slightly chalky finish." James Suckling

“Löwengang Historischer gemischter Satz” Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 (BIO)
The vineyards of the Löwengang estate in Margreid have been owned by the Lageder family since 1934. Here, on the rubble cone of ancient dolomite rock below steep cliffs, grape varieties such as Carménère and Cabernet find ideal conditions in the mild climate of the valley.
Löwengang emphasises the unique DNA of the grapes from which this wine is made. Parts of the vineyard are around 145 years old and the vines are among the oldest vineyards in South Tyrol. Count Melchiori, the former owner, planted the plots in Margreid with Cabernet around 1875. At least that's what he thought - because a large proportion of the vines planted at that time were actually Carménère vines. Through intensive study of the vineyard and extensive genetic analyses, the Alois Lageder winery discovered that the vineyard was in fact a mixed set of Carménère, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. In order to emphasise the special origin of the grapes, the wine will be offered as the "Löwengang Historischer gemischter Satz" from the 2018 vintage onwards.
Complex, concentrated bouquet with fruity hints of cherries and blackcurrants, spicy aromas of tobacco, floral notes of violets and mint and a very elegant woody note. Powerful, straightforward attack, concentrated and dense on the palate. Long-lasting, fresh and fruity final with powerful but by no means aggressive tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"The plot planted with Carmenère, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon in the heart of the Löwengang vineyard is one of the oldest vineyards in South Tyrol with vines up to 140 years old. Wild nose with lots of vegetal freshness, mint and floral notes, light-footed and slender on the palate, but with a strong structure, crisp acidity, leafy and earthy notes, raspberry and blackberry jelly, candied violets, tomato spice, traces of dark chocolate, youthfully rough and impetuous tannins, stubborn and exciting." Weinwisser
"Cool, polished, firm and very fine aroma of black and red berries with tobacco and fleshy-animal nuances as well as a little juniper and tobacco. Tart, firm and again quite cool in the mouth, fine juicy fruit with nutty, juniper and herbaceous tones, noticeable acid bite and youthful, yet fine tannin, persistent and dense on the palate, yet slender, good depth, restrained, somewhat cedary wood spice, a little tomato paste, iron and blood, plenty of salt, very good, firm, tart, gripping finish. The absolute opposite of a heavyweight and yet dense, complex and deep - that is an art in itself." Wein-Plus
"Aromas of earth, leather, chocolate and licorice, very spicy and smoky. The attack is soft, with ripe, velvety, almost silky tannins that are chewier on the refreshing, medium-bodied finish." James Suckling

"Made from Carmenère, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, the Alois Lageder 2019 Alto Adige Löwengang Uvaggio Storico shows dark fruit with a healthy pinch of white pepper and exotic spice. It is a full-bodied red wine with rich concentration and dark fruit, followed by dried mint. With an edition of 3,500 bottles, this is a selection of the best fruit from Tenuta Löwengang in Magrè." Wine Advocate

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“Titolo” Aglianico del Vulture Superiore Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO)
This strictly limited Riserva is only bottled in the best years. The bouquet is perfect and profound with aromas of dried fruit, blackberries, white smoke and crushed rock. Wonderfully structured on the palate with exact proportions and an almost weightless elegance that makes it one of the best red wines in southern Italy. Still youthfully intense, it still has plenty of time ahead of it. SUPERIORE.DE
"Some dried sweet spices, ripe red fruit, dried fruit such as figs and a savory touch. I enjoy the brightness and freshness on the palate, with a medium to full body and firm tannins, which are pretty resolved in the lengthy, traditional finish." James Suckling
"The kaleidoscopic Aglianico del Vulture Superiore Riserva Titolo 2019 is stunningly beautiful, seducing with a cascade of violets and lavender that is followed by pine shavings, incense and a core of crushed black cherries. It is very structured, with an abundance of mineral red and black fruits flowing over a stream of pure velvet. The 2019 folds in on itself on the final, but retains an exceptional freshness and ends with a pleasantly bitter hint of cocoa, while notes of tobacco fade away. This edition combines the majesty of the Titolo vineyard and its old vines with the magic of the 2019 vintage. fantastic." Vinous

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Querciabella's Riserva, with an annual production of 10,000 bottles, is a selection of the best lots. It blends fruit from Greve, where the vineyards lie between 350 and 550 metres above sea level, with grapes from the stony high altitudes of Radda and the chalky soils of Gaiole. Tantalising aromas of spring flowers, cranberries and potting soil are accompanied by vanilla and smoke. On the palate, it is polished and pure, with a delicious, tangy acidity and sinewy tannins. As every year, one of the most refined wines of the appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby colour with a dark core. Elegant on the nose with notes of hibiscus, juniper berries, plus some saddle leather and undergrowth. Precise on the palate, fine tannins and fresh acidity, with pleasant pressure towards the lingering finish." Falstaff
"The Chianti Classico Riserva 2020, which has just been bottled, is still a little restrained. Crushed red flowers, mint, white pepper, aniseed and orange peel give the 2020 a beautiful aromatic brilliance that matches its medium-bodied personality. We find a Riserva of linear intensity and power, more than volume. The vineyard sites are Greve, Lamole and Radda." Vinous
"The Querciabella Riserva is a selection of the estate's best parcels. The bottling of the 2020 vintage shows the generosity and grace of the vintage. Attractive pressed flowers, plums and red berries intertwine with subtle wood smoke. Garden herbs and tangerines emerge on the palate. The tannins are assertive yet supple and sweet, culminating in a chalky grip. This invigorating and bright wine is already very enticing - but there is much more to discover." Decanter
"Aromas and flavours of cherries, raspberries, rosehips and black pepper characterise this bright red wine. It is light on its feet, but a hint of nubby tannins coats the finish. A hint of bitter almond lingers on the finish, along with fruit and spice flavours. It shows good balance and length." Wine Spectator
"Crisp and vibrant red berries with dried flowers, savoury herbs, cedar and spice box. Medium-bodied with fine, powdery tannins and lively acidity. Fresh and concentrated with a linear finish. Crisp with a mineral backbone." James Suckling

Barolo Mosconi DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Chiara's Barolo from the Mosconi single vineyard of the same name is powerful, muscular and full of opulence. Rich, bright ruby red colour. Rich aromas of eucalyptus, wild rosemary, plum and black cherry. Deep and powerful on the palate with beautiful spicy accents, dense tannins and a very juicy structure. For us, this Barolo belongs in the top class of the appellation, it always carries its great weight with maximum elegance and is highly authentic, completely in the style of Chiara Boschis, who has once again delivered something really great here. Please leave it in the cellar for a few more years! SUPERIORE.DE
"Stately reception on notes of pomegranate and undergrowth, spiced up with aromas of dried flowers; the tannins are full of character and well integrated, the acidity accentuated: A well-fitting wine with finesse and style." Vinum
"Rich ruby colour with a slight garnet shimmer. Opens with notes of tea, plums and raspberries, some rosewood and incense. Grippy, well-placed tannins on the palate, emphasised earthy notes, firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"Though clearly focused on its cherry, raspberry and plum fruit flavors, this red also boasts savory elements of eucalyptus and woodsy underbrush. Well-endowed, with dense, dusty tannins that shape the compact finish." Wine Spectator
"Barolo Mosconi 2020 is a powerful, flavoursome wine. Black cherry, gravel, incense, menthol and liquorice all build in this virile, taut Monforte Barolo. The 2020 has a lot to offer, it's big and powerful. Spicy herbs, earthy notes and powerful minerals permeate the powerful finish. Outstanding." Vinous
"Mosconi 2020 has something of the special ripeness of the vintage with cherry cream syrup, grenadine, watermelon sweets and a drop of pastis. The wine finishes powerfully with a balanced combination of fruit and fine oak tannins. It is very lively on the palate and the fruit is very vibrant at this young stage." Wine Advocate
"Flavours of dried oysters and intriguing wet stones with a hint of lovely peppercorn funk to the cherries, hibiscus and plums. Broad and compact on the palate with a full body and plump morello cherries in the centre. Quite extensive and long, but transparent. Even more powerful than her exciting Cannubi from this vintage." James Suckling
"A Barolo of great olfactory and flavour significance. Notes of blackcurrant, a hint of undergrowth, white pepper and citrus notes, nuances of clementine. The mouthfeel is savoury, with a spicy return and floral notes." Luca Gardini

Limitation of 6 articles per customer“Camartina” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019 (BIO)
Camartina has always been the winery's flagship, and Palafreno has now also taken its place at eye level. Compared to Palafreno (100% Merlot), Camartina consists mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives it a robust fruit profile and more freshness and straightforwardness. Sweet floral notes, red berries, mint and chalky notes give the 2019 rising top notes, energy and a fascinating liveliness. It is always elegant and even rather restrained at first. Camartina has a firm place in Querciabella's premium portfolio, not least thanks to its impressive finesse and intensity. Everything done right! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a delicately brightening rim. Fragrant and inviting nose of savoury raspberries, light spices, some sealing wax and resin, then leather on the finish. Clear fruit on the palate, shows tightly woven tannins, polished and juicy, keeps coming back, pleasant pressure on the finish." Falstaff
"The 2019 Camartina shows dark fruit nuances with savoury tobacco and spice notes. This wine is primarily driven by the weight and concentration of the French grape, but it also shows some of the bright cherry and freshness of the Italian grape." Wine Advocate
"Fresh and imbued with flavours of blackcurrants, cherries, plums, iron and undergrowth. Wonderfully balanced, it tightens up on the finish, but shows the necessary fruit to shine through in the long aftertaste. It radiates the austerity of the vintage." Wine Spectator

"The Camartina 2019 is a dense, powerful wine. After tasting a whole range of Sangiovese, the Camartina stands out with its strong Cabernet character and the more pronounced presence of sweet oak. Dark red fruits, mocha, new leather, blood orange and sweet spices take shape in the glass." Vinous
"Perfumed and stylish with fresh thyme and redcurrants with some lead pencil. Medium-bodied with very crisp fruit and a bright and energetic finish. Lively acidity frames the wine with fine tannins. Shows brightness and vibrancy. Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. At the moment it is dense, but with bottle ageing it will develop wonderfully. From organically grown grapes." James Suckling

“Campo Lusso” Cabernet Sauvignon Val d’Arno di Sopra DOC 2020 (BIO)
The small vineyard is located 500 metres above the Galatrona Tower and offers the best conditions for growing the French Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety. Due to the limestone subsoil, this site is also known as a luxury site (campo lusso). Intense and generous bouquet of dark fruit, leather and chocolate. Complex and deep on the palate, very focussed and, with aeration, very elegant and aristocratic. A complete red that will not only delight Cabernet lovers. Only around 1,300 bottles of this spectacular wine can be produced per vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"Shimmering, dark ruby colour with pronounced violet notes. Opens with notes of tobacco, plus fine cedar wood, then lots of rich cassis notes. Crisp, dark berry fruit, lots of dark currants, fresh acidity, fine-meshed tannins, has a lot of pressure on the final. " Falstaff
"The 2020 Campo Lusso is a pretty open, aromatic wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Medium in structure with advancing aromatics, this is an intriguing Cabernet Sauvignon that should be consumed in the near term. Leather, spice, tobacco and dried cherry notes come forward." Vinous
"This new release from 2020 is beautifully full-bodied and rich, with accessible fruit flavours of blackberries and blackcurrants. The tannins are gently integrated into the full-bodied texture of the wine." Wine Advocate
"The aromas of blackcurrant and slate come through clearly, along with undertones of gravel and violets. Asphalt as well. Medium to full body with very fine, chewy tannins that linger. Straightforward and structured with vertical depth. Muscular, mountainous tannins. A pure Cabernet Sauvignon from a small production made on a small mountain in Tuscany. Try after 2026." Brunello di Montalcino “Poggio al Vento” Riserva DOCG 2015 (BIO)
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento from the dream 2015 vintage is dark, rich and seductive. It smells of ginger and hints of leather and tobacco before opening up further to reveal black cherry fruit and wild berries. Although cool and supple, it has a velvety texture that strikes a wonderful balance between the tart blackberries and exotic spices within. Its complexity is remarkable: sometimes sweet, sometimes sour, framed by youthful grippy tannins and hints of cranberries, spices and subtle saltiness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, powerful garnet red. Finely marked, fragrant nose with notes of cranberries, ripe dark cherries, some prunes and plenty of tobacco. Polished tannin on the palate, showing ripe fruit notes, with grippy tannin in many layers on the final." Falstaff
"Lustrous ruby with orange tinges. At first a tiny bit sweaty, then opening up to rich, focused cherry fruit. A palate of lush cherry fruit and sensationally balanced. The juicy fruit, lined with gravelly tannins, goes on and on." Jancis Robinson
"Lots of plum, toffee, floral and cherry aromas that follow through to a full body with ripe, round tannins that follow through to a long, gorgeous finish." James Suckling
"A powerful version, this red delivers concentrated plum, black cherry, iron and earth flavors allied to a base of muscular tannins. The balance tips to the astringent side, but it's not overbearing, with ripe fruit returning on the finish. Needs time and food." Wine Spectator
"Made with certified organic fruit, the Col d'Orcia 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento is open-knit and big both in intensity and mouthfeel. This full-bodied Riserva graces us with budding tertiary notes of tobacco and cured leather, but the ripe and fundamentally very rich fruit of this vintage remains firm at its core. You also get cola, licorice and grilled rosemary. This vineyard site sees ancient soils with an important component of well-draining sand, and this helps to concentrate flavors." Wine Advocate
"The darkly alluring 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento requires coaxing to unlock its aromatics from their youthful state. However, patience is rewarded, as crushed stones and ashen earth give way to red and black wild berries offset by hints of camphor and, finally, a note of sweet tobacco. Its textures are like pure silk draped across the palate, as a saturation of salty minerals settle in. Vivid notes of tart black cherry and an air of inner rose resonate throughout as fine tannins slowly clench the senses. The result is one of hulking structure yet also a potent staining of primary concentration; yet through it all, bright acids maintain supreme balance. Wow, the 2015 Poggio al Vento is a masterpiece in the making." Vinous

"Rich, deep dark ruby violet colour. Intense and compact nose, showing notes of cassis and blackberry, with mint in the background. Crisp and juicy at the attack and on the palate, equipped with dense, gripping tannins, flows for a long time, lots of pressure, dark berry fruit." Falstaff
"Packed tightly with blackberry, black cherry, cedar and oak spice flavors, this dense red is driven by vivid acidity, with tannins that offer refinement and grip. This finishes long, ending with a powdery feel." Wine Spectator
"The Campo Lusso 2021, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is fabulous. However, the harvestshould be prepared to cellar it for at least a few years, as the tannins are imposing. Dark blue/purple fruits, gravel, sage, menthol and liquorice are hesitant to show. This deep, powerful Cabernet is very promising - it is wild and distinctive to the core." Vinous
"The organic Petrolo 2021 Valdarno di Sopra Cabernet Sauvignon Campo Lusso is characterised by a beautiful density and fullness, while retaining the elegance of the fruit. This Tuscan Cabernet Sauvignon shows dark cherries, blackberries, spices, tar and camphor ash. On the palate, the wine remains light and intense, finishing with powdery tannins." Wine Advocate
"A wonderfully structured mountain Cab from the outskirts of Chianti Classico with aromas of blackcurrant, tobacco, cedar and bark as well as damp forest and mushrooms. Full and multi-layered with ultra-fine tannins and a fresh and lively finish. Cabernet Sauvignon. From organically grown grapes." James Suckling
"The nose is fresh and earthy, almost primitive, with sandalwood against trodden earth, damp moss, followed by the warmth of redcurrants and cloves. The palate is lively but balanced, with ripe but carefully calibrated fruit and spice. Unwavering, assertive tannins that nevertheless feel inviting and are electrified by a penetrating acidity. This wine has always been something special, but with the label change, the younger vintages seem both more effortless and more exuberant." Wine Enthusiast

“Levigne” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2018 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
The grapes for Istine's cult Riserva come exclusively from the estate's own vineyards Istine (Radda), Casanova dell'Aia (Radda) and Cavarchione (Gaiole). Only 4,000 bottles of this breathtaking wine, which matures for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, are bottled each year.
Rich, bright ruby red with a sparkling centre. The bouquet is complex with aristocratic restraint. Compact and freshly fruity nose of rich cherries and ripe raspberries, with amarena cherries and notes of tobacco in the background. Medium-bodied on the palate, but with infinite, captivating depth that awaits discovery. Spreads out beautifully in the body, appears downright juicy and fruit-emphasised and continues to open up towards its terrific finalwith crunchy cherries and a refined saline vein. Purists will love its linear and unmistakable Sangiovese character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant carmine red colour. Powerful cherry nose with a peppery tingle. Full flavour of sweet red fruit and tangy cherry, with a layer of sandy tannins. Very long, lively and animating." Jancis Robinson
"From the Istine and Casanova dell'Aia vineyards, a selection of the best Sangiovese grapes for this flagship wine of the Fronti family. Notes of blackcurrant on the nose, then nutmeg and fresh pepper leaf. Juicy, salty tannins on the palate, with a fruity, balsamic finish and flavourful tension." Luca Gardini
"This Riserva is made from part of the three selected vineyards of Istine - Cavarchione, Istine and Casanova dell'Aia - and matures for a further year in Slavonian oak barrels (30 hl). This is the largest and most structured wine in the range, but it does not lack the precision and purity typical of the estate. The subtle aromas are led by rosemary, sage and juniper, with lavender accents interwoven. The tannins are chalky, structured and still quite dry, and the finish is slightly warming. At the moment, the framework dominates, although the ripe blackcurrant fruit has enough depth to support it." Decanter
"A dense, delineated red, with a core of sweet, ripe plum, black cherry, leather, iron and tobacco flavors. Lively and solidly built, with fine balance and a long finish that echoes the earth, fruit and tobacco notes." Wine Spectator
"The Chianti Classico Riserva Levigne 2018 is dense and powerful in flavour. Black cherry, plum, new leather, spices, menthol, liquorice and mocha blend together. The Levigne is a voluminous and complex Riserva that is very well done, even if the influence of the oak is on the verge of overwhelming." Vinous
"The Istine 2018 Chianti Classico Riserva Levigne with black label is an attractive, darkly concentrated wine with a rich and lush style. This certified organic wine is made exclusively from Sangiovese and is aged for 24 months in large oak barrels, with the fruit coming from three special cru sites with different soil profiles. The wine begins very elegantly, a little restrained at first, then gently relaxes and envelops the entire palate." Wine Advocate
"Undergrowth, new leather and ripe berries are just some of the flavours you'll find in this fantastic Sangiovese. Velvety, enveloping and delicious, the full-bodied palate serves up fleshy black cherry, baked plum, liquorice and crushed mint, framed by tightly knit, refined tannins." Wine Enthusiast

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Sweet roses, red berries, flowers, mint and orange peel - all this can be found in this very well-balanced Brunello. It has a well-proportioned fruit centre, lovely tannins and a fabulous overall balance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intriguing nose of black cherries and leather; consistent in the mouth, the tannins fine-grained, the final compact with fine fruit nuances." Vinum
"Bright, radiant ruby red colour. Precise nose of ripe raspberries, underpinned by subtle sweet spices, elderberry, mint. On the palate with great juiciness and tightly woven tannins, polished, radiant in the fruit, also savoury in the pressure, fiery finish." Falstaff
"Concentrated medium ruby red colour. Slumbering nose that gains depth with aeration. Supple, juicy fruit with loads of gravelly tannins. Lots of juice and perfumed fruit on the finish, but still embryonic and a little tannic, but really well balanced and complex, textural and tactile on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"Roasted herbs, wild cherries, thyme and dried mushrooms on the nose. Medium to full body with silky but firm tannins supporting supple and fresh layers. Excellent length with a deliciously savoury character." James Suckling
"Masses of crushed cherries and cloves give way to nuances of spiced citrus peel and cedar as the 2018 Brunello di Montalcino comes to life in the glass. On the palate, it is round and supple, with a balanced inner sweetness that contrasts with the mineral acids and tart forest fruits. The grippy tannins rise towards the finish but fail to slow the 2018's momentum, while notes of salted liquorice linger under a hint of dried roses. This is a deep and characterful rendition of Brunello from Col d'Orcia, but you need patience to discover all its charms." Vinous
"Beautifully weighted, it is full yet agile with enough stuffing to carry it over the next decade. Above all, it emphasises the freshness of the vintage: the aromas unfold slowly but are very floral, with cherry and thyme blossom lifted by traces of pepper. The palate is dominated by crunchy red plums and juicy cherries, with the youthful, grippy tannins needing a little time to give way." Decanter
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino is a certified organic wine with dark fruit, bold cherry, earthy notes and hints of black olive or scorched earth. The wine is generous and round in terms of mouthfeel with a streamlined mid-palate and plenty of Sangiovese acidity to keep things lively and fresh. The tannins are well integrated and silky." Wine Advocate
"This promising Brunello is characterised by beautiful aromas and flavours of cherries, strawberries, currants and flowers. Elegant and supple at the beginning, the dense tannic structure emerges, giving the long finish a different character. It reveals notes of wild herbs and minerals that give it depth." Wine Spectator
"This Brunello of impeccable balance is another essential characteristic of the Montalcino region. Aromas of red cherries, nutmeg and eucalyptus on the nose. Spicy tannins on the palate, taut and crisp, juicy and long-lasting." Luca Gardini
"The nose is warm, dry and fruity, with aromas of cranberry, cherry, strawberry and orange peel wafting above pennies jingling in the background. On the palate, rose petals accentuate the fruitiness, while the tannins are polished but not slippery, like expensive leather. A classic luxury experience." Wine Enthusiast

“Grattamacco” Rosso Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2020 (BIO)
Bright, rich ruby red colour. Fine, elegant bouquet with fruity aromas, notes of coffee and complex spice flavours. The flavour is long-lasting, the acidity in perfect balance with the tannins and body. A wine with great tension and personality, suitable for long ageing, but also a delight in its youth. SUPERIORE.DE
"Wonderfully multi-layered, rather cool bouquet with the mineral notes that are often perceived here, reminiscent of iron, very distinguished, noble fruit with à point ripe wild berry flavours, noble cherries, cassis and cranberries. Fine and elegant on the palate, very precisely contoured, super elaborate tannins that cling almost perfectly to the body like a tailor-made dress, linear with a fine-radiant acid freshness that penetrates the palate. This is mega! This puts Grattamacco right up there with the region's superstars and secures it a permanent place on the podium." Weinwisser
"Elegant and straightforward in profile, this red wine offers aromas and flavours of cherries, blackcurrants, minerals, earth and Mediterranean scrub. There's fine tension and freshness, with a long, resonant aftertaste. Needs time." Wine Spectator
"Timeless blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese: Plump bouquet of blueberry jam and leather; juicy on the palate, the acidity and crumbly tannins in harmony, soft and supple and yet with substance the fruity-balsamic finish, also mineral nuances. A classic that also impresses in this vintage." Vinum
"Aromatic nose of blackcurrants, berries and cherries, along with a hint of flowers and gentle oak. Full-bodied with a very pure and intense fruit that runs through the slightly firm tannins and gives a long, only slightly rubbing finish. From organically grown grapes. An elegant, well-structured blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Drinkable now, but better from 2024." James Suckling
"Restrained cassis and Mediterranean herb scents are allied to fresher red fruits and a floral touch. It's very well composed, demonstrating an elegant and juicy style with great integration of oak and youthful, chewy fruit. A Bolgheri to wait for – this is intended for the long haul." Decanter
"The 2020 tastes balanced and long with even more tannin structure to hold it firmly together. This is an iconic blend." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Grattamacco is an outstanding wine, dark, lively and nuanced to the core. Black fruits, lavender, spices, leather, menthol and dried herbs give the 2020 plenty of character and complexity. The 2020 is deep, but also wonderfully translucent and one of the finest Grattamaccos I can remember tasting. It has incredible depth and resonance, not to mention a lot of personality." Vinous
"One of the highlights of Bolgheri, from a now mythological vineyard. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Blackberries on the nose, menthol, pink pepper and citrus notes on the finish. Taut on the palate with tannins that are balanced by a fresh, savoury component. Fruity finish, depth." Luca Gardini

Brunello di Montalcino “Chiuso del Lupo” DOCG 2018 (BIO)
Poggio Landi's top growth Chiuso del Lupo comes from a plot of one hectare at 550 m altitude. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, ageing is in 30 hl French oak barrels. Deep dark ruby red. On the nose, dark, earthy forest and undergrowth, plus ripe forest berries with menthol and floral accents. The sweet, lush fruit is accompanied by a salty note, the tannins are expansive but not aggressive, but youthful and chewy. A wine that is made for the long haul and whose future will be great. SUPERIORE.DE
"A juicy and succulent red with plum and berry character, along with orange peel and spice. Full-bodied with creamy tannins that coat the mouth. Lots of fruit, but attractive firmness and brightness." James Suckling
"This red wine is rich, round and fruity, offering aromas of black cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants and spices. It shows a solid tannin structure, yet remains balanced and leaves the impression of ripe fruit." Wine Spectator
"Here is a new addition to the Poggio Landi portfolio, representing a small production of 6,000 bottles. The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Chiuso del Lupo is pressed from a one hectare parcel at an altitude of 550 metres above sea level and is a true delight and the proverbial diamond in the rough. The high altitude vines on the silty, clay-limestone Alberese soils really make the difference. The wine opens with a rich ruby colour that is vibrant and bright. The bouquet offers candied cherry, lilac, blood orange, cola and sweet earth. It stays true to the grape variety and offers added concentration, depth and complexity as it progresses. The wine finishes with soft, silky tannins. This wine is one of the great discoveries of the vintage." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2017 (BIO)
Dark bouquet of cherry and plum sauces mixed with cloves and grapefruit peel. This is pure elegance, rich and supple, even polished in feel, while masses of mineral-tinged red berries flow over a core of vibrant acidity. The tannins arrive late and intermingle with a concentrated layer of primary fruit, leaving a classically structured impression. It is already clear that this wine will make its fans very happy in a few years' time. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very dark ruby with narrow, bricky rim. Quite closed on the nose with just noticeable sweet cherry touches and a little lift. Massive, monolithic cherry fruit on the palate with tangy acidity creeping up on the finish. Bags of gravelly tannins that need the polish of time. Lots of potential, but still embryonic." Jancis Robinson
"San Polino’s Riserva was crafted from ‘one particular boat-rocker of a vat,’ according to proprietor, Katia Nussbaum. While she could have made 4,000 bottles, she blended most of it into the Helichrysum selection, keeping just 1,000 litres for this Riserva. It's a heady mix of cinnamon, allspice, vanilla and dried fennel. The palate is plentiful, with cherry compote, sweet herbs and a chalky structure. A slight dryness of tannins is countered by the sweet, ripe core and voluminous fruit. Perhaps not perfectly balanced, but crammed with boisterous, cheerful character." Vinous
"Sour cherries, licorice, lemon verbena and balsamic on the nose. There’s lavender and sandalwood, too. So much pure sangiovese character with tangy acidity and juicy sour and savory hints carrying this wine long. Firm, grippy tannins that are at the forefront for now. Give it a few years." “Vigna Scarrone” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Barbera d'Alba Scarrone from the vineyard of the same name is a beautifully layered, rich Barbera cru. Aromas of dark fragrant fruits, spices, liquorice and minerals. Opulent and impeccably balanced silky tannins, sweet floral notes in the long dry finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lifted and very aromatic, this wine tantalizes with notes of macerated cherries, wild rose, sandalwood, star anise and wild herbs working with such harmony you have trouble taking the first sip. The lush and round palate bursts with plush red-berried fruits that give way to savory and warm spicy notes finishing with fresh earth notes." Wine Enthusiast
"Deep and intense on the nose with red and dark berries, spicy herbs, dark chocolate and burnt orange peel. Also some wet earth. Full and complex with dusty tannins and a meaty juiciness. Long lasting and bright." James Suckling
"Part of the Scarrone vineyard was replanted in 1989, and from these younger vines comes the Vietti 2020 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone. This wine is also dense and darkly concentrated, but not to the same extent as the version made from the fruit of the old vines. Dark fruits, baked plums and sweet spices add dimension and volume to this wine." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone is outstanding. Rich and expansive, the 2020 is infused with the essence of dark cherry fruit, rose petals, cinnamon, leather and mocha take centre stage. All the elements come together so effortlessly. On the finish, floral and spicy notes reappear. This is such a noble and polished Barbera." Vinous

“Il Puro” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2018 (BIO) · 0,75l in OWC
Volpaia's flagship Il Puro shows beautiful fruit, elegance and a certain austerity that are indicative of this balanced vintage. The texture of the wine is dense and voluptuous and there is dark, plummy fruit, leather and cloves that meld into a wonderful drinking flow. Oak spice, tar and campfire ash on the long and rich finish. Only 2,000 bottles exist of this profound archetype of a Sangiovese that could hardly be better. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with a delicately brightening rim. Opens finely fragrant in the nose, of juicy cherries, wild berries, underlaid with dried rose hips, delicately of dried tomatoes, multilayered and inviting. On the palate it is powerful and clear, opens up juicy and salty, with a great tension; long finish with a noble finish." Falstaff
"Made from a single vineyard that’s planted with 25 native Sangiovese clones rescued from former sharecroppers’ plots, this has an appealing bouquet that mixes whiffs of herbs with earthy blackberries and roasted coffee. Ripe acidity and fine-grained tannins support a palate loaded with mellow dark cherries, while nuances of toasted oak and undergrowth complicate the ample and poised finish." Decanter
"The Volpaia 2018 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Casanova Il Puro is an organic wine in a pretty bottle with a red wax seal. The fruit is soft and round in this vintage with plenty of cherry, dried raspberry, spice and sweet leather. It boasts a full-bodied texture but ends on a silky note." Wine Advocate
"Intense notes of cedar, cocoa, violets and tobacco, combined with tangy lemon, wild strawberry and cranberry. Sharp and precise with medium to full body and tight tannins. Intense. From organically grown grapes. Needs a couple of years to integrate." James Suckling

“Nerobufaleffj” Nero d’Avola Terre Siciliane IGT 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM
Nerobufaleffj is a very unusual wine for Sicily. It offers an aromatic intensity that cannot be found anywhere else in southern Italy. The bouquet is explosive with strong cherries, dried blackberries, tobacco and spices. Subtle hints of cinnamon and crushed clove. An exotic red of high concentration and power with a wonderfully complex, long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very ripe blackberries, baking spices, walnuts and some figs on the nose. Very flavourful and spicy on the palate with fine, silky tannins and a juicy, long finish. Beautiful dried fruit with some walnuts on the finish." James Suckling
"Dark and earthy in the glass, the 2019 NeroBufaleffj opens with a burst of crushed ash stones and earth tones before giving way to dusty blackcurrants and blood oranges. It's very structured, with silky waves of ripe red and black fruit running throughout the wine. The vibrant acidity creates a sense of boundless energy. The 2019 finishes remarkably fresh, yet colourful and long, with edgy tannins that linger as notes of spiced citrus fade. The NeroBufaleffj is already great today, but it is made for the cellar." “Grattamacco” Rosso Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2021 (BIO)
Grattamacco is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese, the latter grape variety certainly contributing to the fresh style of this wine. However, the overall picture is only complete when you realise that the vineyards used for this blend are among the best in the appellation. The Grattamacco Bolgheri Rosso Superiore is characterised by its typical aromas of leaves and Mediterranean forest, with subtle flavours of kiwi peel, cassis, paprika and chocolate. Velvety, youthful and firm on the attack, less light than the Alberello, but more tightly woven and of great elegance. Its length is astonishing, great potential! SUPERIORE.DE
"Stunning berry aromas, facets of dried flowers, pepper and Mediterranean scrub; polished structure with powdery tannins, the accentuated acidity provides youthfulness in the background, then lots of charm and great length on notes of plums, Mediterranean flora and spices." Vinum
"Bright ruby red colour. Expressive, sweet-fruity bouquet of cassis and blackberry, with notes of ebony, tobacco leaf, cocoa and fumé, complex. Spreads across the palate like a silk scarf, with precise fruit and fine-grained tannins, juicy and with gentle pressure into the long finish." Falstaff
"Medium to dark crimson colour. Very complete and with slightly less obvious tannins than the 2016. Already very approachable and well balanced with a chalky texture on the finish. Really charming with a light inkiness. Long and fresh." Jancis Robinson
"A bold, sweeping wine, the 2021 Grattamacco is pretty impressive. Readers should expect a potent, extroverted red with tons of Bolgheri opulence. There’s plenty of supporting structure too, but at this stage it’s the wine’s intense, ripe profile that carries the day. A blast of blackberry, scorched earth, new leather, licorice and incense saturates the palate on the long, sustained finish." Vinous
"Blueberry, blackcurrant and pomegranate flavours are accentuated by oak spice, graphite and rosemary notes in this fresh, long red wine. Taut and lively, with excellent balance and a fine-grained tannin band on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The result in 2021 is magnificent, with the scent of blackberries and a dense, savoury palate with black and blue berries, silky tannins and sous bois complexity. The wonderful juicy softness of the fruit is enlivened by minty-fresh acidity, a savoury kick and a tasty, almost ferrous finish." Decanter
"This is a different level, with blackcurrants, blueberries and Mediterranean herbs such as rosemary and sage. Also tobacco and coffee beans. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a lingering finish. Sophisticated and thought-provoking. A new level of quality with this wine." James Suckling

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Beautifully weighted, the 2019 edition is full yet agile with enough structure to carry it over the next decade. Above all, it emphasises the freshness and balance of the vintage: the aromas unfold slowly, but are very floral, with cherry and thyme blossoms underscored by peppery notes. Crisp red plums and juicy cherries dominate the palate, with the youthful, grippy tannins needing a little time to integrate perfectly. SUPERIORE.DE
"It opens with a fruity flavour of red and blue fruits, with spicy notes reminiscent of cinnamon and cardamom. Dense and creamy in the mouth, very juicy, still a little grippy in the tannins, a modern Brunello that should be ready to drink in 1 to 2 years." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby red colour. Ripe blackberries, some undergrowth, dried oregano and loam on the nose. Great tension on the palate, juicy, dark fruit, tightly woven tannins and a precise final with pressure." Falstaff
"Deep to dark ruby red in colour. Deep, brooding and backward on the nose, but with real precision. Lots of juicy red fruit and impressive, fine-grained tannins. Still a little embryonic, but already hard to resist. Pure class." Jancis Robinson
"Pure and refined wine with lively raspberries, red cherries, rosehips and a hint of citrus blossom. Medium to full-bodied with firm but silky tannins. Excellent acid backbone. Enjoyable now, but give it another two to three years to develop." James Suckling
"Deep notes of dried black cherries meet cedar shavings and worn leather as the seductive Brunello di Montalcino 2019 slowly unfolds in the glass. It is surprisingly juicy and energising, with a pure blend of red fruits and inner flowers accompanied by fresh acidity. Fine tannins assert themselves on the finish as the 2019 takes on a youthful tension and pinches the cheeks, while tart cranberry notes fade into a youthful, crisp final." Vinous
"The certified organic Col d'Orcia 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows ripe fruit, blackberry, earthy notes, liquorice and, generally speaking, a much bigger and riper fruit profile compared to its peers. It offers a full-bodied Brunello opulence that can be enjoyed in the short or medium term, and the wine delivers flavours of dried fruit such as plum and fig to finish. The tannins are velvety and contribute to the richness of the rather forward and immediate mouthfeel." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 is immediately inviting and expressive. It seduces with lovely tones of red rose, cherry and sweet thyme. Expansive and spacious, the palate unfolds fluidly with layers of delicious red plum and pomegranate. Hibiscus, rosewater and orange hide in every crevice. A brilliant demonstration of the flavourful juiciness of Sangiovese. Deceptively gentle at the start, fine sandy tannins build in a worthy crescendo." Decanter
"This densely packed version is resonant and persistent, with fine integration of all its components, though today it is compact and austere, revealing flavours of cherry, raspberry, rose, earth and minerals. Give it the benefit of the doubt." Wine Spectator
"Notes of marasca, geranium and eucalyptus on the nose. Juicy tannins on the palate, balsamic and floral notes, compact flavour and crispness." Luca Gardini

“Monpra” Rosso Langhe DOC 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Classic Rosso from the Langhe, made from 50% Nebbiolo and 50% Barbera grapes from the Ginestra and Bussia districts. Inviting, exuberant Barbera-influenced bouquet of raspberry jam, dark fruit, leather, tar and tobacco. Deep, plump and very inviting, drinky and opulent on the palate. Very accessible even at a young age. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Langhe Rosso Monprà 2020 is a blend of Barbera from old vines (planted in 1971) and Nebbiolo from Bussia Sottana. Juicy and expressive, with plenty of Nebbiolo nerve, the Monprà delivers the goods. Juicy black cherry, gravel, spices, menthol, liquorice, dried flowers and a hint of French oak all come together in this wine. The 2020 is a particularly beautiful edition of the Monprà." Vinous
"The Langhe Rosso Monprà 2020 shows lovely richness and concentration in this hot vintage with dried cherry, blackberry, spice and liquorice (both red and black). The flavours are up front, but the wine shows a streamlined mouthfeel to close gently." Wine Advocate

“Masari” Rosso Veneto Valle d’Agno IGT 2018 (BIO) · MAGNUM in gift box
Masari's flagship presents itself in a deep, dense garnet red colour. Ripe blackberry and cassis on the nose, underpinned by bitter cocoa and ripe cherries, light leather spice and liquorice. Full and balanced on the palate, slowly but complexly spreads over the tongue, then convinces with beautiful and lasting pressure, long, salty and simply wonderful. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright, very rich ruby red colour. The nose initially smells of marzipan and precious wood, then opens up to fine wild berry fruit, blackberry and milk chocolate. On the palate with a profound depth and a great stony feel, tight tannins, fine salinity and clear, floral, sweet fruit, lingers for a long time, still a little grippy on the finish." Falstaff
"A Bordeaux-inspired blend with a detailed tannic kit, conferring depth and a je ne sais quoi seriousness, while evincing structural authority to a wave of tapenade, anise, cassis, dried sage and alpine herb. The oak is evident, but a mere adjunct rather than a yelp. A very fine example, possibly worth an additional point with the complexity that time will surely imbue." James Suckling

“Percarlo” Sangiovese di Toscana IGT 2019 (BIO)
Sangiovese in purezza. Wonderfully spicy aroma, dark forest berries and cherries, some graphite and cedar wood. On the palate, silky elegance, juicy, dark berry fruits, paired with an animating fruit-acid play that makes the wine really dance across the tongue. Percarlo has depth and length as well as potential for many years in the cellar. One of the great single-varietal Sangiovese of central Tuscany. SUPERIORE.DE
"A vibrant, open-knit red, featuring black cherry, blackberry and plum fruit accented by iron, wild herbs and spices. Taut and linear, with a silky texture, lingering finish and resonant tannins. Shows terrific energy that builds from the beginning to the long, complex aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"One of the most well-known Sangiovese wines on the market is the San Giusto a Rentennano 2019 Percarlo. This organic wine has a touch of extra ripeness or richness that goes beyond the bouquet. You feel like you can bite into the fruit, and indeed the 2019 vintage stands out for its unique power and density. There's a lot to take in, and there's enough lingering fibre and fruit power to fill a long drinking window." Wine Advocate
"The Percarlo 2019 is a wine of restraint. The fruit is very pure and the tannins are very fine for this year, but also a little firm, which needs time to release. Bright red fruits, cedar, tobacco, liquorice, blood orange and spices open up nicely and play with the lively tannins. I suspect the 2019 will need a few years to reach its best level." Vinous
