“Fórra” Manzoni Bianco Dolomiti IGT 2022 (BIO)
Fórra, an elegant small-batch white wine, is made purely from Manzoni Bianco and has an interesting history and an exciting development. Lageder's project with this grape variety began several years ago and resulted in the crossing of Rhine Riesling and Pinot Bianco. Traditional methods were used in the cellar to ensure freshness and vibrancy. Contact with the skins over several days sharpens the profile of the wine. After spontaneous fermentation, Fórra remains on its lees in wooden barrels for several months. Pithos Bianco is a great orange wine from the amphora made from 100 per cent Grecanico, fermented entirely on the skins. Complex bouquet of apple, pear, honey, mint and a hint of rosemary. Even young with lots of ripe fruit and spice, a little salt, with beautiful depth and purity in the interesting, persistent flavour. Very good ageing and maturation potential. The pioneer of Riesling on Italian soil is Aldo Vajra. Already fascinated by the variety as a student, he planted the first vines of the White Riesling variety in the Langa. “Campo della Pieve” Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG 2022 (BIO)
The Campo della Pieve vineyard (approx. 380 metres above sea level) faces south-west and has thicker soils and more tufa. The most recent parcel, which was recently acquired, is the highest to date at 400 metres above sea level. The site is more susceptible to wind and has good water retention thanks to the heavier clay soils.
Bright, light golden yellow colour. Delicate nose of fresh yellow apple, some peach, lemon balm, flint in the background. Round and smooth on the palate with a lovely balance between acidity, freshness, citrus and tropical fruit, plus a subtle minerality. In keeping with the characteristics of the Vernaccia grape, the wine is not overly fruity, but displays an exciting spiciness that lends it personality and an additional arc of tension. SUPERIORE.DE

"This Komet is a tribute to our uncle Luis von Dellemann, a former cellar master who laid the foundations for this wine decades ago. He drew on the vineyards of the Lehenhof in Terlan, where the then owner had planted Sauvignon cuttings from France in the 1930s. This old vineyard produced excellent results of the highest quality every year, which is why Luis von Dellemann decided to cut scions and graft this Sauvignon selection onto the very old and beautiful Vernatsch vines in the vineyard in Entiklar, which were grown on the Pergel as usual. Today we have a Sauvignon vineyard with unique planting material, the complexity of which is reflected in this comet. Racking and further fermentation take place in 10 litre wooden barrels.
