Prosecco del Fondatore Graziano Merotto is the winery's flagship wine - certainly one of the best in its denomination - and a very dry and complex brut from the special hillside vineyards of the Rive di Col San Martino. Bright silver-grey with a persistent perlage. Light fruit and flowers on the nose, a fine citrus note on the palate introduces the finesse-rich, exciting mineral flavour with an impressive finish. The Andreola family business in Col San Martino was founded in 1984 by Nazzareno Pola in the heart of the Valdobbiadene wine-growing region. In his honour, a wonderful Prosecco Superiore is produced here every year in small batches, which has now received the highest award in Gambero Rosso for the first time with the 2023 vintage. For Stefano Pola, the Etichetta del Fondatore represents the highest expression of finesse and olfactory elegance that the Glera grape can give in the core zone of Prosecco Superiore - combined with the verticality and juiciness that the soils give it, without ever losing its lightness and drinkability.

A small part of Merotto's top product was held back on the occasion of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the winery and only came onto the market a few weeks ago with 2 years of bottle maturity. Graziano Merotto personally followed the maturation and development in the bottle over the entire period. The result of this extraordinary anniversary project is a sparkling wine of great complexity, elegance and personality.
