The almost flat vineyard sites of Gries near Bolzano feature sandy alluvial soils permeated by quartz porphyry. The Lagrein grapes that predominate in this fresh cuvée reach full maturity here thanks to the heat-retaining properties of the Bolzano valley basin and thus gain their typical velvety softness. These deep red grapes are pressed with very short skin contact and thus surprise with fruity-fresh aromas of cherries combined with a hint of almonds.
