Brunello di Montalcino “Poggio al Vento” Riserva DOCG 2013 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Delicate garnet reflections enliven the classic ruby. On the nose, aromas of ripe cherries combine with notes reminiscent of tobacco and medicinal herbs to create a complex harmony. The taste, infused with impeccable fine tannin, gains an almost sensational fullness as it progresses and is supported by a good acid component. A Riserva like something out of a picture book. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, intense garnet red. Very inviting and intense nose of cranberries and pomegranate, some saffron, juicy, fresh cherry. Pithy, very well placed tannin on the palate, fine sweet melting, lingers long, very juicy, has potential for many years." Falstaff
"This shows ripeness and richness of fruit. It’s full-bodied with juicy fruit and a savory finish. Verges on jammy, yet there’s tension and freshness with orange-peel and floral undertones." James Suckling
"Broad shouldered and firmly structured with expressive aromas and flavors of red cherry, flint, blackberry reduction and underbrush. Finishes very long and saline; strikes me as one of the more refined, lightweight versions of Poggio al Vento in years. Lovely wine, and commendably, very much in style of the vintage. I expect this to improve considerably in the years to come: well done." Vinous
"Aromas of underbrush, wild berry, leather, camphor and Mediterranean herb waft out of the glass. The full-bodied palate is still young and primary but shows great aging potential, delivering juicy red cherry, pomegranate, licorice and tobacco set against firm tannins while bright acidity keeps it balanced." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento sets this venerable Riserva program squarely back on track thanks to its balanced intensity and classic lines. Like in the other Sangiovese-based wines from this historic Montalcino estate, this wine is distinguished by those estate-specific savory and sanguine notes that recall rusty nail or iron, all followed by balsam herb, powdered licorice and even a touch of eucalyptus oil. The wine's texture is medium in weight and ultimately this expression is more buoyant in mouthfeel than you might initially expect of a wine that has aged for this long." Wine Advocate

“Maternigo” Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva DOCG 2016 · MAGNUM in OWC
Maternigo means "mother's land" and is also the name of one of the Tedeschi family's vineyards. The vineyards cover around 33 hectares in two municipalities, Tregnago and Mezzane di Sotto. The new Cru-Amarone Riserva Maternigo is only produced in the best years and its grapes come exclusively from the Barila vineyard. This single vineyard was selected after careful zoning and characterisation of the soil, which is characterised by very low vigour and consequently produces grapes rich in structure.
This gives it its own complex and aromatic character, which is characterised by a high concentration of natural aromatic components in the grapes. This complexity creates an intense bouquet of red fruits and Mediterranean flowers. These notes are echoed on the palate, along with subtle hints of eucalyptus, which give the wine freshness and at the same time hints of sweet spices. The impressive result is an elegant wine with great structure and exciting development potential - and an unmistakable sensory experience. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, bright, rich ruby red colour. Noble and clear on the nose, of ripe, rich cherries, red peach, rosehips and wild berry mousse, with fine spicy components on the finish. Full-bodied and dense on the palate, opens rich and with dark berry fruit components, juicy tannin envelops the fine melting, ends long in the final with fine pressure on elderberry syrup." Falstaff
"The 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Maternigo is ashy and intense, with tobacco giving way to peppery herbs, dried cherries and dark chocolate. It feels velvety-smooth and glycerin-like, with a dense wave of ripe red fruit and sweet spice carried by salty minerals and vibrant acids. It leaves a hint of rich sweet fruit along with violet and lavender tones as it finishes lightly textured. The 2016 took some time to develop in the glass, but it really shows the magic of the vintage. Bravo." Vinous
"The Tedeschi 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Maternigo comes from an exciting vineyard with soils of grey marl limestone outside the "Classico" zone of the appellation and is a dark and brooding wine. The intensity is undoubtedly there, but the wine is actually quite balanced and even. It never feels too heavy or dense. There is some lingering sweetness, but the mouthfeel is creamy and soft in texture." Wine Advocate
"Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella from the Barila vineyard, grape harvest, followed by long fermentation and maceration, then 48 months in Slavonian oak, a wine with a beautiful olfactory impact, notes of blackcurrant, nuances of wild mint and nutmeg, spicy attack, spicy finish." Luca Gardini
"This wine exemplifies the unique world that Amarone lives in as a wine. It is both very powerful and elegant at the same time. The nose is reserved at first, showing a mixture of black currant, plum and raspberry. The wine then shifts gears highlighting the bitter-chocolate notes and chalky minerality that come from this unique single vineyard, Barila. The bottling has firm tannins and vibrant acidity, giving the wine seriousness and demanding it be lost in the cellar for some time." Wine Enthusiast
"It's very restrained on the nose, with a dense package of baked red cherry flavours and a bright mineral, almost wet stone character. Mediterranean herbs too. Full-bodied palate that is back under control, but there is a dense package of firm, fine tannins, dried fruit and spice waiting to burst out. It's hard to believe this wine is only 17% alcohol, it's so well constructed. It will be superb in a year or two and beyond if you can resist the temptation now. Best from 2023 onwards." James Suckling
"Spicy, woody black cherry, blueberry jam and coffee scents are joined by deep, rich, earthy and almost-jammy flavours, with cocoa and damson. Round and extremely fresh with a persistent finish, this is by no means a shrinking violet yet has the balance to match its considerable concentration and heft." Decanter

“La Fabriseria” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva DOCG 2015
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico La Fabriseria shows itself massive and with seductive complexity. Deep bouquet of black berries and cocoa, violets and lavender. The taste is immensely fruity with aromas of cherry, blackberry and wild berry, plus the invigorating impressions of medicinal herbs again and again. The finish is elegant and long with a fine sweetness and a hint of mint. For us, one of the greatest wines of the Valpolicella! SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful, bright ruby. Very clear and intense nose, full of dark currant sweets, dark cherry juice, spicy honey and some resin in the background. Dense and full-bodied in the attack and course, shows a lot of grippy, dense tannin, flows clearly and calmly, dark pepper in the finish, very much Storage potential." Falstaff
"A pure beam of crème de cassis and baked black cherries is accented by an enticing palette of sandalwood, liquorice and Earl Grey tea leaf notes in this fine-mesh, medium to full-bodied red. Long and delicious, with a rich hint of fig cake and a touch of mineral iron on the slightly chewy finish." Wine Spectator
"In the glass, aromas of crushed violet, baked plum, underbrush and new leather combine. The palate is velvety and densely concentrated, offering delicious raspberry jam, soaked plums and baking spices before finishing with a tobaccoic finish. Despite its big, bold structure, it has refined tannins that support and polish it seamlessly." Wine Enthusiast
"Sumptuous notes of balsamic, mint, dried thyme, kirsch and mountain herb. A raft of tannins doused with dried tobacco leaf and clove, compress the fruit as much as promote it. The thick-skinned oseleta is in the blend, contributing immensely to the firm structural lattice. Drive, power and length, with no dearth of freshness. Excellent Amarone for those seeking power as much as freshness. This has a very traditional, savoury air to it. One glass is not quite sufficient in this case." James Suckling
"The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva La Fabriseria 2015 trades power for elegance and feminine beauty. Notes of mineral ripe cherries, currants, sage and cocoa gain volume and depth with time in the glass. The wine is seamless and silky, gliding over a core of lively acids, with juicy red and black fruits giving way to sweet spices and pretty flowers. A bitter hint of coffee and spicy herbal notes combine with tart blackberries and linger for well over a minute. This is just great." Vinous
"The Tedeschi family's top wine is their 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva la Fabriseria. The wine is a careful blend of 40% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta, all aged in oak for 48 months. The appassimento process has produced a powerful and muscular wine that opens with thick layers of black fruits, plums, dried cherries, spices, mesquite smoke, iron and sweet rum cake. With only 2,500 bottles made, this full-bodied blockbuster wine is a lesson in all the beautiful excesses that extreme Amarone has to offer." Wine Advocate

“Castello di Bolgheri” Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2021 · MAGNUM in OWC
Deep, dark ruby red in colour, with a rich fruit concentrate of cherry, elderberries, wild berries and a pinch of pepper on the nose. Wonderful harmony of supple tannins and fine acidity on the palate, with subtle notes of maraschino cherry and spices. Fine toasted flavours on the long, very elegant finish. One of the most complex and underrated top wines in the region to date. SUPERIORE.DE
"Spicy cherry and berry flavours, also tobacco notes; rich in structure, the powdery tannins and the brittle acidity in balance, persistent and with its spicy fruit and balsamic nuances very complex final." Vinum
"Bright, radiant ruby violet colour. Fragrant and elegant nose, clearly plums, wild berries, undergrowth, later cold smoke. Opens full-bodied and soft on the palate, opens wide, round acidity, powerful and juicy, retronasal cool fruit with eucalyptus, elegant, long final." Falstaff
"The purity of the blackcurrant and lavender is highly appreciated. On the palate, it is concentrated and very polished, with substance and a touch of excellence. Medium-bodied with integrated tannins and a light aftertaste of tomato leaves and blackcurrants." James Suckling

Terlaner Weißburgunder Alto Adige DOC 2011 Rarità
The rarity wine symbolises Terlan's longevity: "A speciality of the Cantina Terlan are the rarities, special bottlings of mature white wines that have been stored for at least ten years on the fine lees in steel pressure tanks. The youthful freshness that characterises this Pinot Blanc despite its mature age is particularly impressive, making it perfect for longer ageing in the bottle. Terlan has the terroir to produce great white wines and skilfully demonstrates this with these rarities." Rudi Kofler, Kellermeister
The choice of grape variety and vintage for the Cantina Terlan inery's rarity wine are secrets that are closely guarded for a long time - until just a few weeks before the official presentation. In spring 2024, Cantina Terlan inery traditionally presented its new strictly limited rarity wine. The winery management decided on the Pinot Bianco 2011, the twelfth rare wine to be stored under the expert direction of Kofler.
Light, bright straw yellow with delicate greenish reflections. Impressively fresh on the nose - herbal notes of camomile, lemon balm and lovage as well as a hint of dried persimmon and apricot. At the same time, the multi-faceted bouquet also has a scent of bread crust and yeast plait paired with a subtle flint aroma. Smooth and powerful on the palate with a crisp, fresh acidity that nevertheless leaves a delicate impression and ideally complements the mineral tension. The finish is silky and elegant but at the same time enormously powerful and deep. Approximately 3,000 bottles are released onto the market. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, radiant light gold colour. Finely marked on the nose, toasted pine nuts, with fine hints of yellow fruit, ripe apple and ripe peach, fresh components, mint and salt on the finish. Great creaminess and elegance on the palate, rich in finesse, full-bodied, comes polished in many layers, very salty, lingers for a long time, rich finish." Falstaff
"The 2011 Pinot Bianco Rarity seduces with rich notes of raw almond, followed by dried flowers, incense and savoury spices, enhanced by lime zest and finally freshly cut nectarine. This wine is pleasantly round, almost creamy, with a silky wave of ripe peach and green melon carried by juicy acidity. The 2011 finishes savoury and long, leaving the mouth watering as a minty herbal note slowly fades. Although it has a warm vintage character, the 2011 cannot be denied its balance." Vinous
"It exudes an impressive ripeness, full of plump nectarines, peaches, melons and yellow flowers, with a generous toastiness and an invigorating mineral undertone. Generous, rich and very long." Decanter
"Intense, ripe papaya, mango and exotic fruit profile, almost in the style of Alsace. Developed tertiary flavours such as paraffin and apricot fruit. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, taut and precise, with an amazing apricot finish." James Suckling

Limitation of 2 articles per customer“San Leonardo” Rosso Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
San Leonardo is the flagship of the winery of the same name and one of the best red wines in Trentino every year. Opulent bouquet with nuances of dark fruit such as blackberry and sour cherry. Delicate spice, leather and tobacco notes give it a terrific complexity, which is then extended on the palate by a harmonious interplay of dark berries and plums, all flanked by clearly contoured tannins. A masterful red with a strong personality that will reach its true greatness after a few more years of bottle ageing and live up to its reputation. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, impenetrable ruby red colour. Cool nose of blackcurrant with a hint of red pepper. On the palate, juicy blackcurrant with the softest tannins, as if everything had been handled with kid gloves." Jancis Robinson
"A graceful red wine that begins quietly with a pure note of ripe blackcurrant and slowly expands on the palate to interweave flavours of bay leaf and smoked tobacco, bitter cherry, minerals, graphite and cigar box spice. The fine-meshed spectrum of flavours reveals supple tannins that define the elegant finish." Wine Spectator
"A mentholated freshness introduces the 2018 San Leonardo as it slowly blossoms in the glass. As the glass is swirled, a depth of dusty sage and violets unfolds, fading into white pepper and blackcurrant. This wine is elegant, full-bodied and powerful. Sour citrus fruits highlight ripe wild berries and savoury spices. The 2018 leaves nothing out and finishes long and lightly structured, with a framework of fine tannins that gently tug at the senses as blackberry and rose notes slowly fade away. The 2018 is an understated and youthful beauty that should be left in the cellar for a few more years. That means hands off, because the best is yet to come." Vinous
"The latest edition of this outstanding northern Italian red wine offers complex aromas of tobacco, spice, earth and rich, wood-soaked black berries. In the mouth, it combines intense concentration with freshness in a vertical sense of balance and savouriness. Dark, plummy, spicy hedgerow berries are perfectly balanced by bright, savoury acidity and ripe, grainy tannins, with spicy cedar, dried currants and a hint of balsamic depth. It still has so much to offer." Decanter
"The 2018 San Leonardo from a cool vintage is incredibly fine and beautiful, with a filigree of flavours reminiscent of wild blackberries, tobacco, pressed rosemary, cherry tart and orange marmalade. The elegance of the wine is exceptional, the mouthfeel very fine and precise. This classic vintage will certainly appeal to San Leonardo purists. I recommend giving it a long maturation period." Wine Advocate
"Perhaps the only Bordeaux from Trentino capable of evolving to emerge with personality even today, in a vintage of grace. Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère and Merlot. Jammy cherries, undergrowth, juniper and rhubarb, dense and savoury, crisp and compact mouthfeel, wonderfully persistent finish." Luca Gardini

Barolo Ravera “Bricco Pernice” DOCG 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
Valter Fissore bottles less than 4,000 bottles of this incredibly classic Barolo every year. Dark cherries, menthol, flowers and tar are just some of the classic notes in the complex bouquet of the Bricco Pernice from the Ravera single vineyard. On the palate, the austere structure and great power are joined by a fine inner sweetness. In the long finish, memories of damp earth, dried herbs and wild flowers. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium ruby red with orange. A pretty, lifted, complex bouquet with spicy, mineral top notes and minty oak notes. Needs a lot of air. Cranberry and raspberry with crisp tannins. A Barolo of the cool climate. Its character is closer to the excellent 2019 vintage than 2018. Great length and precision." Jancis Robinson
"Very attractive, perfumed nose with cherries and raspberries, hints of spiced cedar, walnut and damp earth. Medium to full-bodied with grainy tannins and chalky texture. Fresh red fruits with racy, citrusy notes on the finish. Taste it from 2026." James Suckling
"Perfumed, it exudes aromas of rose, cherry, raspberry, anise and menthol, with berry fruit persisting on the palate along with mineral and herbal flavours. Although expressive and balanced, it shows tannin and should develop well." Wine Spectator
"Bright, shiny ruby garnet with brightening rim. Great, inviting nose of fresh mint, blackberries, liquorice, then raspberries and candied rose petal. Very polished and with a creamy texture on the palate, tightly woven salty tannin wraps the clear fruit, subtle notes of blood orange, very elegant and long." Falstaff
"This wine shows just how elegant Nebbiolo is with aromas of wild raspberries and cherry preserves giving way to wild herbs, rosebuds and earth. The palate is lifted and dances with vigor and energy showing its core of fruit but with all elements in harmony and balance." Wine Enthusiast

"Dark, sparkling ruby with garnet-coloured tendencies. Elegant, fruity-floral bouquet of roses and ripe wild berries, backed by fine wood spice and meadow herbs. Fine fruit melt on the palate, with a compact fruit core and firm tannins, very exciting and incredibly long." Falstaff
"Brilliant medium ruby red with orange-coloured reflections. A breathtaking, multi-layered and complex bouquet with raspberry fruit, salty, mineral notes and a hint of leather. Compact but lush, juicy cherry and raspberry fruit, which develops slowly, and long, grainy, tangible tannins. Mouth-filling, but by no means heavy." Jancis Robinson
"Attractive primary flavours of crushed strawberries and stones follow through to a full body, with fine and polished tannins and a lovely, fresh finish. Lively is a good word to describe this wine overall." James Suckling
"Cherry, plum, tar, tobacco and wild herb flavours permeate this muscular red wine, which is rather austere today, not showing much fruit and has a dense base of powerful tannins. The super-long, ferrous finish shows the future potential of this wine, so keep your hands off it for now." Wine Spectator

Brunello di Montalcino “Poggio al Vento” Riserva DOCG 2015 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento from the dream 2015 vintage is dark, rich and seductive. It smells of ginger and hints of leather and tobacco before opening up further to reveal black cherry fruit and wild berries. Although cool and supple, it has a velvety texture that strikes a wonderful balance between the tart blackberries and exotic spices within. Its complexity is remarkable: sometimes sweet, sometimes sour, framed by youthful grippy tannins and hints of cranberries, spices and subtle saltiness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, powerful garnet red. Finely marked, fragrant nose with notes of cranberries, ripe dark cherries, some prunes and plenty of tobacco. Polished tannin on the palate, showing ripe fruit notes, with grippy tannin in many layers on the final." Falstaff
"Lustrous ruby with orange tinges. At first a tiny bit sweaty, then opening up to rich, focused cherry fruit. A palate of lush cherry fruit and sensationally balanced. The juicy fruit, lined with gravelly tannins, goes on and on." Jancis Robinson
"Lots of plum, toffee, floral and cherry aromas that follow through to a full body with ripe, round tannins that follow through to a long, gorgeous finish." James Suckling
"A powerful version, this red delivers concentrated plum, black cherry, iron and earth flavors allied to a base of muscular tannins. The balance tips to the astringent side, but it's not overbearing, with ripe fruit returning on the finish. Needs time and food." Wine Spectator
"Made with certified organic fruit, the Col d'Orcia 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento is open-knit and big both in intensity and mouthfeel. This full-bodied Riserva graces us with budding tertiary notes of tobacco and cured leather, but the ripe and fundamentally very rich fruit of this vintage remains firm at its core. You also get cola, licorice and grilled rosemary. This vineyard site sees ancient soils with an important component of well-draining sand, and this helps to concentrate flavors." Wine Advocate
"The darkly alluring 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento requires coaxing to unlock its aromatics from their youthful state. However, patience is rewarded, as crushed stones and ashen earth give way to red and black wild berries offset by hints of camphor and, finally, a note of sweet tobacco. Its textures are like pure silk draped across the palate, as a saturation of salty minerals settle in. Vivid notes of tart black cherry and an air of inner rose resonate throughout as fine tannins slowly clench the senses. The result is one of hulking structure yet also a potent staining of primary concentration; yet through it all, bright acids maintain supreme balance. Wow, the 2015 Poggio al Vento is a masterpiece in the making." Vinous

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
The owner and winemaker Alessandro Mori describes himself as a "naturalista". His wines ferment spontaneously with autochthonous grape varieties and age for a long time in large old oak barrels. He lets the natural temperatures of the cellar control the refinement of the wine and uses minimal sulphur throughout. In addition to all its characteristic floral scents of roses and violets, Il Marroneto's 2018 is positively spicy with a peppery, juniper note. On the palate, it is delicately woven while offering deep flavours and good length. Clean and bright, with distinct notes of rosehip and raspberry, while refined tannins sneak up with textured chalkiness. SUPERIORE.DE
"Exciting nose with hints of freshly picked cherries, blackcurrant, tobacco, cardamom as well as Mediterranean spices and flowers. In the mouth again very gripping,
very own, exciting style, completely focused on freshness and pure-toned crispness, shows itself grippy and delicate with juicy fruit and fine spice. Must mature." Weinwisser"Bright, medium dense ruby garnet. Appealing nose with notes of cranberries, goji berries and juicy fresh cherries. Lots of crisp fruit on the attack, unfolds very smoothly, fine sweet melt, raspberry on the final." Falstaff
"Brilliant, concentrated ruby red. Refined but still somewhat closed on the nose with spicy and mineral hints. Lots of appeal on the palate with beautiful, juicy, vibrant and concentrated cherry and raspberry fruit and hints of fruitcake. Lots of firm tannins that are still a little astringent and overpower the fruit. Long and layered finish, but still a little embryonic." Jancis Robinson
"Fresh, red fruit character with cherries and red plums and hints of gunpowder, coffee beans, spices and dried orange peel. Medium to full-bodied with firm tannins and a smooth, velvety fruit core in the mid palate. Lingering mineral note on the finish. Best after 2024." James Suckling
"Il Marroneto's 2018 Brunello embodies elegance, lightness and grace without being banal or superficial. Harvested on 5 October, it has a sweet core of red berries that provides a backdrop for cinnamon stick, sarsaparilla and violet accents to unfold. The ripe tannins are fine-grained and enveloping as the wine reaches accessible depths, and the appetising acidity begs for another sip - but not before the leisurely finish unfolds with spices and raspberries. A seamless symphony that reflects Alessandro Mori's unhurried, unforced approach to winemaking. As tempting as this wine is now, a little more patience will be rewarded." Decanter
"The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino has a charisma that makes it an absolute delight. Sweet exotic spices meet dried black cherries, dusty flowers and a hint of cloves. It is a pure delight on the palate, showing both opulent fruit and total balance and sophistication, while the sour berries are given a bracing lift by the juicy acidity. The 2018 leaves no stone unturned, rejuvenating with rounded tannins and lingering on the palate for up to a minute with a bracing burst of citrus, nuances of sweet rose and liquorice. This wine is so beautiful already, but also has the balanced structure to age beautifully, something you don't find in many Brunellos of this vintage. What a treasure." Vinous
"The Il Marroneto 2018 Brunello di Montalcino from Alessandro Mori opens with a spicy bouquet with notes of caraway and white pepper that seamlessly transition into bright cherries, blueberries and cassis. The trick with this wine is balance, as neither side is stronger than the other. More importantly, this Brunello still has life and vibrant energy. Precisely because this bottle tastes so good now, I see little reason to wait any longer." Wine Advocate
"All the richness of Il Marroneto's raw materials in this impeccable version of Brunello. Blueberry jam on the nose, then notes of cinnamon, carob and marjoram. Juicy, spicy tannins on the palate and a fruity finish." Luca Gardini
"The nose seems like a dreamy island getaway, with passion fruit for breakfast, prickly pear cocktails by the pool, violets on the dinner table, and rosewater candy waiting on the nightstand. The palate brings candied cherries and strawberries, with continued rosiness bleeding into a citrusy, spicy finish. The acidity sparks off sophisticated tannins. This wine is poised and elegant, yet also exciting." Wine Enthusiast

Brunello di Montalcino “Poggio al Vento” Riserva DOCG 2016 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
The Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento 2016, which comes onto the market seven years after the grape harvest, is a breathtaking wine. It soars to the highest heights in terms of elegance and power. These opposing forces - power and grace - are what characterise this classic vintage. Col d'Orcia has effortlessly captured and immortalised both sides of the continuum. The bouquet displays a long array of aromas, including dried cherries, liquorice, cola, lavender flowers, cured meat and black truffles. The velvety finish is smooth and lingering. A wonderful creation from the top 2016 vintage! SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful, bright ruby colour with a fine garnet sheen. Memorable nose with notes of plums, some cranberries, dark cherries, very clear. Firm, full-bodied tannins on the palate, opens with a lot of pressure, coated in ripe berry fruit, savoury and profound, subtle earthy notes on the final." Falstaff
"Brilliant, medium to deep ruby red colour with only light orange tones. Some development on the nose, but otherwise still very closed. Supple and concentrated, with fine, tangy acidity and astonishing balance. Finely chiselled tannins and supple, concentrated fruit on the finish. An elegant wine whose 15% alcohol is imperceptible." Jancis Robinson
"The organic Col d'Orcia 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento is beautiful, to be honest, with a unique sense of direct power, medium-rich texture and evolved fruit. This Riserva takes us back in time to one of the most successful vintages in Montalcino's history. The bouquet is characterised by dried fruit, rose potpourri and roasted chestnut shells. The tannins are dissolved and the wine ends on a soft, silky note." Wine Advocate
"The nose is primarily spicy, with aromas of old leather, dirt and mixed spices, like a general shop in the old west with cherry and liquorice candy in bins. The palate is more fruit-driven, with notes of cherries and figs mingling with coffee and sambuca flavours to create a subtle hint of spiciness. The tannins and acidity oversee the proceedings without imposing themselves, like a good host at a party." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Poggio al Vento is a classic wine that takes its time in the glass, slowly gaining depth and nuance: dusty roses and leather give way to dried strawberries, then notes of cedar and spiced blood orange. It is elegant and refined, with polished red berry fruit and a silky texture contrasted by notes of sour orange. A core of lively acidity provides a wonderfully fresh appeal. The finish is long and colourful, but also youthfully structured. A layer of fine tannins holds on to the remnants of redcurrant and spice. Ultimately, the 2016 Poggio al Vento leaves the taster longing for another sip and regretting its incredibly youthful state. It will be many years before we can fully enjoy the depth and complexity it currently harbours, but I hope to be there when that day finally comes." Vinous
"Packed with vibrant cherry, strawberry, rose, mineral and tobacco aromas and flavors, this red is racy and pure, with a superb aftertaste. Defined by its bracing acidity and precise fruit flavors, this still has some tannins to resolve. So youthful and fresh, it feels like this has hardly budged in its evolution." Wine Spectator
"Super classic Brunello from a classic vintage that is now coming onto the market. The fragrance has it all: cherries, flowers, pencil and slight hints of graphite. This is followed by raspberries and black cherries with some sandalwood shavings. You just want to smell it. Clear and transparent. Full-bodied with very fine and incisive tannins that fill the mouth and show great tension and shape. Extremely long and structured. Beautiful now, but it will age for decades to come." “Granato” Teroldego Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT 2020 (BIO) · Double MAGNUM in OWC
Granato has been an exceptional Teroldego for years: It convinces in the bouquet with its rich balsamic scent of sour cherries and red currants. Extract-rich and intense, powerful and extremely precise on the palate. A great wine that reflects the long-standing consistency and competence of this winemaker. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Teroldego Granato is so youthful yet so beautiful, rising from the glass with an infectiously spicy bouquet that is at times autumnal, at times savoury, mingling with dark red fruits. The palate is flooded with a wave of intense raspberries and wild berries that quickly saturate, but with a hint of sour citrus for a nice balance. A pretty inner sweetness lingers as it finishes structured and remarkably long with a refreshing hint of inner rose and wild strawberry that lingers on. It's powerful but also elegant and perfectly balanced for a long evolution." Vinous
"This wine shows deep red and dark berries with peppery notes, dark chocolate, hibiscus and grapefruit peel. Just a hint of cedar and smoked herbs. Full and concentrated, so stable and dense with lively, finely honed tannins and vibrant acidity giving the wine power and highlighting the savoury fruit and minerality. Very long and tense." James Suckling
"Iconic wine, one of the expressive peaks of Teroldego. Fermentation in open oak vats, ageing in acacia and cement casks, great freshness on the nose, redcurrants, touches of wild mint and rhubarb, on the palate it is dense-sweet, with a fruity-balsamic return and a finish on underbrush notes." Barolo Cannubi DOCG 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Barolo Cannubi is a great wine that highlights the classic beauty of Nebbiolo. This wine is like a statue of a Greek goddess with perfect proportions and feminine aesthetics. The bouquet is complex, with bright fruits, white pepper, mint, orange peel and spicy liquorice. The tannins are polished and fine, with a hint of the characteristic limestone chalk that you sometimes taste in Cannubi. Lively acidity rounds out this extremely elegant, fresh and graceful wine. Very full-bodied and focused with great length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Scents of fresh fruit, topped with notes of smoke and sandalwood; pithy palate, robust tannins, accentuated acidity, the finish promising." Vinum
"Delightful. Very beautiful nose of cherries and ripe raspberries with mineral, chalky notes and a hint of oatmeal, but always very subtle. Purity, elegance and fullness on the palate. Long, fresh, precise finish of raspberries with a long and fine tannin structure. Wonderful fragrance on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"A very refined yet structured Cannubi with fine tannins that spread across the palate. Medium bodied with lovely juicy fruit of plums, berries and cedar. Persistent finish with citrus notes in the aftertaste." James Suckling
"Bright, noble ruby garnet. In the nose on lush black currant, liquorice, slightly after heart cherries, jasmine, cedar wood. On the palate polished, elegant, with juicy tannin and very well brought out fruit, harmonious interplay, great length." Falstaff
"A red of depth and opulence, with black cherry and blackberry fruit accented by earth, green olive tapenade, green tea and tobacco flavors. Complex, with considerable power and length, this will require a bit more time to integrate than its peers." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Barolo Cannubi is simply stunning. Rich and beautifully structured, the 2019 shines from start to finish. Fresh cut flowers, mint, crushed red berry fruit, orange peel, salt and dried herbs are some of the many notes that grace this exquisite, beautifully nuanced Barolo from Chiara Boschis. Sweet floral and spicy overtones build on the finish. The precision of this Barolo is incredible. Barrel ageing works so well here. What a wine!" Vinous
"Tart, firm, very deep and rather cool, finely herbal and a hint of dried floral scent of more black than red berries with a hint of tomatoes, leathery tones, a little juniper, cedar and restrained barrel notes. Clear, polished, fresh-looking, fine-juicy and yet almost massive fruit with notes of resinous herbs, some nuts and a hint of smoke, youthful, very fine tannin, some bite, persistent and dense on the palate, leathery and tobacco nuances, lots of salt in the background, a hint of roses, elegant style for all its power and firmness, enormously deep and complex, still barely developed, very good to long, tart, taut and fine-juicy, almost cool-looking finish. Outstanding in its incredible blend of massiveness, freshness. Precision and finesse." Wein-plus
"Last autumn I had the opportunity to hike the Cannubi vineyard with Chiara Boschis. You really don't get a feel for how steep the inclines are and how dusty the ground is until you are on site and struggling with each difficult step. It masters the difficult terrain effortlessly. The 2019 Barolo Cannubi shows an etched or three-dimensional quality with sharp fruit aromas, blue flower and chalky stone. There were some weather extremes during the growing season, but it all evened out in the end. Phenolic ripeness was easily achieved. Chiara Boschis describes the 2019 as a cross between 2016 and 2017." Wine Advocate
"A "blessed" vintage for one of the house's historic crus, a wine of density and crisp tension. Notes of cranberries on the nose, with hints of blood orange and liquorice root, with classic end mentholation. Salty, acidic tannins on the palate, with a fruity, mentholated finish." Luca Gardini

Limitation of 1 articles per customerAmarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2013 · MAGNUM in OWC
This great wine is only released for sale nine years after the harvest: The slow drying of the fully ripe grapes gives this cru its immense strength and density as well as its extraordinary character with powerful ripeness, fruit fullness, beautiful concentration and great elegance. On the palate, Bertani's Amarone demonstrates freshness, noble lightness and great dynamism. An exciting wine and for decades probably the most classic Amarone - the archetype, so to speak - of the entire appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
"Complex bouquet characterised by red and blue fruits, wild cherry, also wonderfully floral with violets and rose petals. Grippy and elegant on the palate with a terrificattack thanks to the virile freshness and energy, incredibly mineral and gripping in the mid-palate. A great arc of tension." Weinwisser
"Brilliant ruby colour, sparkling, slightly brightening rim. Very clear and precise, flavours of finely ripened cherry and plum, fine spice. Firm, very fine-meshed tannins, has very good tension, juicy." Falstaff
"The 2013 Amarone della Valpolicella initially shows a generous and exuberant style with all kinds of black fruits, tar, spices and a hint of saltiness. But this vintage is also characterised by a particular strength and power, expressed in firm tannins and a solid structural backbone that is best displayed in cooler vintages like this one. The 2013 offers linear power and determination and will certainly stand up to long bottle ageing." Wine Advocate
"This classic Amarone exudes a robust essence of dark fruit and earthy undertones reminiscent of a rich oak forest and worn leather. On the palate, it reveals a captivating story of ripe cherries, plums and a hint of spice, culminating in a velvety finish that lingers like a timeless song." Wine Enthusiast
"A great, dense core of mixed dried berries, along with notes of caramel and a mix of mild Indian spices, from coriander to mace. Full-bodied with a liqueur-like pearl of fruit running through the long, long finish with ample but well-integrated tannins. Excellent and so fresh." James Suckling
"Tenuta Novare, a blend of Corvina Veronese and Rondinella, matured for 7 years in large Slavonian barrels, followed by a year in the bottle, an example of classicism and moderation. Blackberry plum on the nose, a hint of liquorice powder, then eucalyptus. Salty minerality with a balsamic finish." Luca Gardini

Brunello di Montalcino “Madonna delle Grazie” DOCG 2017
As always, Madonna delle Grazie presents itself in a highly aristocratic manner, with a radiance and perfection that is unparalleled. When this wine enters the glass, there is simply silence in the room. After a few minutes of aeration, its bouquet exudes probably the purest and most purist form of Sangiovese, combined with numerous hints of grenadine, cassis, jasmine and a mysterious, exotic note. Perfectly structured on the palate, everything is in its place and you can almost taste that the grape material was perfect and handpicked. With each sip, it becomes more complete and, in addition, reveals - wonderfully fine and subtly layered - ever new taste experiences that will continue to increase in smoothness and complexity as the wine matures in the bottle. SUPERIORE.DE
"This is already an outstanding, very clearly marked, vital Brunello on the nose: delicately balsamic-fresh scent with notes of red and blue berries, in which a bright, juicy raspberry fruit unites with the blue-fruity and floral notes to form a multi-faceted aroma. On the palate, it has a wonderfully juicy and fresh Sangiovese fruit with many cherry shades that marry with the crisp and fresh wild berry fruit. In general, it seems grippy and gripping, as the precise fruit is firmly embraced by the dense, but never dry tannin. The final is wonderfully red berry with the typical "sapid" Sangiovese spiciness and freshness, plus ethereal, salty notes. A great wine in a challenging year. Bravo! An example of how the higher, north to north-eastern sites clearly benefited." Weinwisser
"Bright ruby garnet. Fragrant and inviting nose, full of raspberries, blackberries and fresh plums, very clear. Also shows rich fruit on the palate, lots of raspberry and dark cherry, then opens with dense, grippy tannin, spicy and salty in the finish." Falstaff
"This single-vineyard selection is breathtakingly enticing. Autumnal in persona, it conveys wet leaves, smoke and very subtle spice as aromas float from the glass. You feel the warmth in the dried violet and baked brick notes but otherwise it is fresh cherries and red currants that fill the mouth. As elegantly structured as it is eloquent, long lean tannins stretch across the palate of this enigmatically seductive Brunello, finishing with a touch of paprika." Decanter
"The historic vineyard of Alessandro Mori in his most iconic bottle. Blackberries on the nose, touches of marjoram, caper fruits and a finish with notes of star anise. The mouthfeel is juicy, with nice density, iodized tannins and a fruity finish." Luca Gardini
"The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie lights up the senses from the very first moment. Its aromatics alone are worth the price of entry; an exotic, spicy bouquet blends lavender, blood orange and tart raspberries with mentholated herbs, smoke and crushed stone. The textures are unbelievably soft, like liquid velvet, enveloping with mineral-tinged ripe cherries and sweet, sweet spice. This is so pretty and expressive, yet also juicy and fresh. Fine tannins mount, though they are only noticeable through the finale, where saline-minerals mix with sour citrus and autumnal spice in an expression that just goes on and on. The 2017 transcends the vintage, and while it may not possess the power typical of Madonna delle Grazie, it instead communicates its undeniable beauty and grace. I tasted the 2017 both in Montalcino, at the winery, and in our office, where it only got better over the three days I followed it. It's a total classic." Vinous
"This is one of the icon wines of the appellation. The Il Marroneto 2017 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie shows an elegantly streamlined appearance with shiny ruby highlights. This warm-vintage expression does not have the same vertical lift that we saw in the glorious 2016 edition, but that wine sets the bar very high (and it earned a 100-point score). This vintage is perhaps shapelier and more saturated with rose, wild cherry, peat moss and blood orange. The house style embraces extreme finesse, and you get that here. Alessandro Mori has also expertly managed the tannins, with results that appear silky and almost glossy. Thanks to elevation and soils, this cool growing site north of Montalcino village performs very nicely in the hot vintages such as this." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2017 · MAGNUM in OWC
When the world-famous Oenologist Carlo Ferrini makes his own wine, one can be excited. He has succeeded here in creating an interpretation of Sangiovese that brings all his experience from decades of working with this grape variety to the point as if through a burning glass. The moderate use of wood through ageing in 700-litre tonneaux expresses the clarity and personality of the grape and the unique terroir (there are just 1.5 hectares of the best Brunello sites) in an archetypal way. A great harmony of dark cherries, black fruits, spices, leather and tobacco, ideally integrated tannins and great persistence will quickly make the few thousand bottles a sought-after collector's item. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intriguing nose of stone fruit, tobacco and bitter chocolate; polished texture with supple tannin, noticeable acidity, combines minerality, finesse and great length. Also inspiring in this vintage." Vinum
"Carlo Ferrini's Giodo has already achieved cult status in a short time. His wines bear an elegant signature. Last year, he was already ranked among the best Brunelli in WeinWisser. This year is not much different, Ferrini, who looks after more than 100 wineries, knew how to deal with the challenges of the vintage. The bouquet reveals wonderful red and blueberry notes, but also liquorice and liquorice. In the mouth, enormously complex with a linear but fine and juicy line, mineral accents are also noticeable, the tannin is grippy but fine-grained and gives the fruit an elegant frame. Another elegant throw from Carlo Ferrini." Weinwisser
"Slightly earthy and tobacco aroma of red and black berries with nutty hints, dried vegetal to herbal nuances, delicate ethereal spice, ash and a hint of tar. Straightforward, taut, rather tart, almost cool, with air increasingly juicy fruit with nutty flavours and a hint of herbs, slightly smoky on the palate, hints of toasted nutty wood notes, fine tannin, good persistence, peppery nuances and dried Mediterranean herbs in the background, orange zest, also a hint of rose petals, has animating freshness and bite, good depth, very good, firm finish with precise juice that again seems surprisingly cool. First class." Wein-Plus
"Clear, polished nose, slightly minty herbal spice, dark chocolate, plum, subtly blueberry, very firm but polished and rounded, elegantly disguised, tonal texture shows through." Meiningers Sommelier
"Sangiovese maestro Carlo Ferrini prefers to harvest the Sangiovese earlier rather than let it become overripe. In the sophisticated 2017 vintage, he harvested in the first week of September. It is a charming Brunello that expresses the understated exotic character that I think is the hallmark of this wine. Potpourri, blood orange and aniseed run through the fleshy persimmon, and there is just a hint of toasted oak. The sandy tannins tickle rather than grind the generous palate. The acidity is also very lively." Decanter
"Carlo Ferrini's Giodo 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is plush and gently layered, and the wine has plenty of fibre and cherry to absorb the power inherent in this vintage. This is Carlo's seventh Brunello from his family estate, and it is nice to reflect on the consistency of style and quality that has been achieved since this new venture was born. Giodo has the advantage of coming on the scene at a time when the international reputation and understanding of Brunello was at its highest. Carlo has not disappointed. He brings us a modern, forward-thinking wine rooted in the local Tuscan winemaking tradition. This vintage expresses the typical Giodo personality with black cherry, dark fruit and elegant earthy end notes. At around 18 years old, its vines are entering an interesting chapter in their lifespan and we can expect more great results from this estate." Wine Advocate
"A full-bodied Brunello with lots of plums and cherries and the character of orange peel. It is creamy and has a round texture. Soft and crisp tannins. Shows the warmth and ripeness of the 2017 vintage." James Suckling
"The refined project of Carlo and Bianca Ferrini behind a bottle that continues to surprise for qualitative merits: blackcurrant, capers and nuances of dried fruit roasted to the nose, finishing on the notes of orange peel. The mouthfeel is dense and thick with spicy tannins. The finish is fruity." Luca Gardini

“Ornellaia” Bianco Toscana IGT 2020
From the 2020 vintage, Ornellaia Bianco is a single-varietal Sauvignon Bianco from three selected, small vineyards at Tenuta dell'Ornellaia. It ferments on the lees for 10 months, which gives it freshness, precision and a fine citrus flavour. Delicate golden yellow colour. A cornucopia of light-coloured fruit on the nose, with wonderful mint and citrus notes. Complex, lush and multi-layered on the palate. One of Italy's great white wines, in the style of the house. SUPERIORE.DE
"The intense straw-yellow Ornellaia Bianco 2020 unfolds a bouquet of yellow-fleshed fruit, accompanied by aromas of white flowers and vanilla. A harmonious and complex nuance that delights with every sip. On the palate, the wine reveals a pronounced freshness, but at the same time an elegant creaminess that gives the wine an enveloping, pleasant and long-lasting mouthfeel." Olga Fusari, Oenologist
"A full-bodied white wine reminiscent of a Bordeaux Blanc, with flavours of melon, peach, lemongrass, flowers, spices and green tea. Rich but balanced by lively acidity, with a hint of grapefruit peel bitterness. Excellent balance and length, with subtle use of oak." Wine Spectator
"This wine, which used to contain Viognier, is now 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The 2020 Ornellaia Bianco is quite tropical and generous in personality with immediate flavours of papaya, Golden Delicious apple and crushed stone. The wine is beautifully structured and long-lasting." Wine Advocate
"The nose indulgently blends fruit and herbs, like pineapple sorbet drizzled with basil syrup, with umami undertones of Pecorino cheese and toasted almonds keeping things in elegant balance. On the rich palate, pineapple continues and is joined by lemon curd, but the saltiness of the cheese perseveres to cut through the luxuriousness." Wine Enthusiast
"The Ornellaia Bianco 2020 is a bright, fine, dry white wine. Lime, white flowers, mint and white pepper are all beautifully described in this crisp white. I would give it at least a year or two in the bottle, as the acids are quite aggressive today, or a few hours in a decanter, which will help soften the youthful edges." Vinous
"White flowers, jasmine, peach, apricot, clementine and citrus nuances with a minerality of wet stones. Exciting and ample at the same time, a well-controlled weight of almost oily peach and bitter nectarine fruit with a citrus pineapple and lemon kick and underlying notes of honeysuckle give the florality. Clean with balanced acidity that gives a smooth mouthfeel and adds to the complexity of the whole. Dynamic with a hint of sweetness and tension - lively and appealing." Decanter

Top-class, complex and modern Barolo from Serralunga: Elegant, complex bouquet of cherries and blueberries, the full-bodied taste is of considerable density and length, perfectly integrates the tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"A rich ruby with a garnet shimmer. Presents itself in the nose with notes of liquorice, truffle and rosewood, then a lot of plum, in the background liquorice. On the palate it is striking, very substantial, deep, ripe fruit and earthy notes, opens with firm tannin in many layers, in the finish firm pressure, salty and long." Falstaff
"This Barolo offers the trademark power and integrity that is so distinctive of wines made in Serralunga d'Alba. The 2012 Barolo Lazzarito delivers muscle, brawn, and an endearing sense of confidence and determination. The is a lovely interpretation that opens to dark fruit aromas that are sharply framed by spice, tobacco, tilled earth and cooling menthol. The overall effect is generous, well-structured and full-bodied. This wine is poised to age over the next twenty years." Wine Advocate
"The 2012 Barolo Lazzarito impresses for its precision and class, two qualities that aren't easy to find in wines from this Serralunga site. Iron, smoke and white pepper lift from the glass in a vertical, structured Barolo endowed with real pedigree. A rush of pomegranate, red cherry jam, wild flowers and blood orange meld into the huge, bright finish. In 2012, the Lazzarito reconciles power and finesse like few vintages in the past. For the last few years, the Lazzarito has been knocking on the door of the big boys in this lineup, the Rocche and Ravera. Today, the Lazzarito makes a strong statement that it has arrived." “Il Caberlot” Rosso IGT 2020 · MAGNUM
Only 3,200 magnum bottles (and a few double magnums) of this exceptional wine from the Caberlot grape variety are produced at Bettina Rogosky's winery. Brilliant ruby-violet colour, spicy notes and rich dark berry fruit aromas on the nose. Juicy and clear on the palate, unfolds with dense, fine-grained tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Mint chocolate, ripe blackberries, dried rose petals, cold smoke and cold stone on the nose, with some leather and pepper on the finish. Textured on the palate, with a delicately creamy body, powerful, compact, comes in many layers, still a little young tannin on the final, salty and very long finish." Falstaff
"Very characterful and spicy nose full of peppery fruit. Lots of black pepper, some pencil lead and a fleshy undertone in the blue fruit. Polished and wild on the palate with medium body, fresh, high acidity and lots of crushed blueberries on the linear, long finish. Caberlot, a cross between Cabernet Franc and Merlot." James Suckling
"The 2020 Caberlot is a delicate, understated wine in relative terms. Structurally, the 2020 feels a bit soft, most likely because of rain during harvest. Inviting aromatics and mid-weight structure are the calling cards. Bright, red-toned fruit, rose petals, mint, dried herbs, incense and blood orange are nicely delineated. In 2020, Caberlot is quite understated. I find it one of the quietest, hushed Caberlots I can remember tasting. This will drink well with minimal cellaring." Vinous
"Full, rich and elegant, with aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, black cherry, violet, iron, cedar and tobacco. It is characterised by purity, finesse, excellent balance and a long, lingering aftertaste." Wine Spectator

“Sassicaia” Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC 2020
Sassicaia 2020 is in one word: magical. Even at a young age, it displays an aromatic richness and intensity that delights us. The optimal climate has favoured its very Mediterranean character, resulting in a fresh and very direct wine that delights all the senses. Everything is in its place here and the omnipresent fruit is given an extra place on the podium in this vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium purple colour, the bottom of the glass is clearly visible. Intense nose with a hint of iodine. Great spiciness that seems more Tuscan than Bordeaux. Long-lasting and with a very long finish. Embryonic, but convincing that it has a good future ahead of it. Subtle rather than flashy. I wouldn't guess it's 14%. I aerated it and left it in a young wine decanter for an hour and it was a delight. It has more appeal than many previous vintages." Jancis Robinson
"The 2020 Sassicaia is a real beauty and shows great purity, elegance and silkiness. On the nose, it is a very typical, noble Sassicaia with the typical liaison of Cabernet and Mediterranean spice, reminiscent of the neighbouring maquis forest. There are lavender notes, but also Mediterranean herbs such as sage, myrrh and rosemary, refined with dark cherries, cassis, wild berries, graphite, tobacco and earth. Noble restraint on the palate too, the fine fruit presence is majestically underpinned by earthy and herbal-spicy notes, with a touch of olive tapenade also resonating. In spite of the present fruit, it is fresh thanks to its penetrating acidity, with a silky texture and an elegantly grippy tannin structure. It is a seductive temptation to drink it young, but it will benefit from a few years of ageing. Patience will be rewarded with more complexity." Weinwisser
"The Tenuta San Guido 2020 Bolgheri Sassicaia will appeal to those seeking a more voluptuous, opulent and ultimately more approachable wine. This vintage is a precise reflection of coastal Tuscany, as opposed to a more generic "Tuscan" wine from other parts of this great central Italian region. You can taste the ripeness and soft fruit weight that comes from a coastal appellation with particularly bright light and warm Mediterranean breezes. Sassicaia from the cooler vintages is known to be a restrained wine in its early years, requiring a long lead time before it fits into an ideal drinking window. This is definitely not the case here. This wine is beautiful and compelling from the start. It shows a lovely blend of dark fruits, oak spice, balanced freshness, rich texture, soft tannins and a skilfully controlled alcohol level of 14%. The immediate character of the wine is what characterises this vintage and I wouldn't get too carried away with over-ambitious cellaring. The wine is a pure pleasure in its current form, with an overwhelming primary fruit and a high intensity in the near and medium term." Wine Advocate
"A very fragrant Sassicaia on the nose with forest floor, citrus and dark fruits. Blackcurrants. Cedar wood and black tea. Some balsamic vinegar. Pine needles. Full and very juicy. Very long, structured and complete. Spicy and energetic with a linear line of fresh tannins and acidity. Very Sassicaia throughout. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc. Very attractive now in a youthful and lively way, but this will be better in three to four years. Try it after 2027." James Suckling
"The Sassicaia 2020 is a bold, rapturous wine. Dark, fleshy and expansive on the palate, the 2020 offers flavours of blackberry jam, gravel, spices, new leather, liquorice and crème de cassis. The powerful tannins are almost masked by the sheer intensity of the fruit. The 2020 seems to have an extra dimension of textural intensity. An intensity that is very appealing." Vinous
"Complex aromas and flavours of blackcurrants, blackberries, iron, sweet tobacco and Mediterranean herbs are the hallmarks of this elegant, exciting red wine, which already reveals a lot, but still appears restrained, as if there are still many facets to discover. It is characterised by harmony, freshness and a long finish." Wine Spectator
"The frost damaged the earlier developing Cabernet Franc at the end of March, resulting in lower production but excellent quality fruit. The spring was mild and the summer generally warm, but a rapid acceleration of ripening in late summer forced the team to start harvesting in the first week of September to avoid over-ripening. This traditional blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc is characterised by an intense and balsamic taste that highlights the character of blackcurrant, dust, leaves and cedar. It is balanced and light-footed, with super-fresh acidity and a fine-grained, almost imperceptible tannin structure. Ripe and tangy raspberry and blueberry fruit linger on the mid-palate, leading to a long, fresh finish with notes of cream and chocolate. This wine will be worth cellaring into the 2050s, but it will also give great pleasure in its youth. We recommend keeping it in the bottle for at least 10 months before opening it," says Priscilla Incisa della Rocchetta." Decanter
"An increasingly promising bouquet - after aeration - of forest fruits, with a subtle hint of Mediterranean scrub and truffles; perfectly chiselled texture with youthful, tight-knit tannins, the acidity provides that certain something extra, plenty of fruit but also spice on the lingering, multi-faceted finish. Timelessly elegant." Vinum
"Ruby red colour, compact and brilliant. The nose has clear notes of blackberries, with slightly wild notes of marjoram, floral nuances of peony and an iodine-balsamic finish. In the mouth, crunchy red fruits, tannins that combine well with the fresh-salty component, balsamic and liquorice on the finish, excellent drinkability. A wine that will last a long time." Limitation of 4 articles per customer“Camarcanda” Bolgheri DOC 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
Camarcanda is a rich Bolgheri Rosso Superiore with a dark bouquet of black fruits, espresso, chocolate, liquorice and tar. On the palate, it is decidedly full-bodied, with excellent depth, dense structure and firm body. Opulent and long, this wine already shows a wide range of its personality. SUPERIORE.DE
"Promising raspberry and herbal notes flatter on the nose; harmonious texture, wonderful tannic acid framework, has juice and power through to the final. Makes you want more." Vinum
"Dark ruby red with violet edges. Deep, elegant bouquet, rather dominated by red and blue berries and seductive floral notes that almost remind you a little of a Barolo, but only almost, because here the whole thing is framed by cassis and cabernet aromas. On the palate, too, this is not made for power, but rather elegant and well-proportioned. I have rarely had such an elegant Ca' Marcanda in my glass. This is precise, almost feminine, punchy and yet also with the juiciness and melting of a modern Bolgheri coastal blend." Weinwisser
"Very typical for the region of Bolgheri, showing fresh and dried herbs, from sage to mint, with currants and dark berries. It’s medium-to full-bodied with very fine tannins and very attractive length and energy. Very drinkable now, but better in 2023." James Suckling
"The 2018 Camarcanda is a rich, dense wine that marries the natural intensity of the Tuscan Coast with the greater sense of energy the estate's wines have today. A blast of dark cherry, plum, espresso, menthol and licorice infuses the 2018 with notable depth that continues to build over time." Vinous
"Intense, vibrant and juicy, the 2018 Camarcanda features bright red and black fruits, wood and balsamic notes all wrapped up in some soft creaminess. Tight and tangy, the palate features ripe fruits and a mouthwatering saline finish, leaving you wanting more. So fresh and youthful, this will benefit from time in the cellar." Decanter
"Dense and fluid at once, this red delivers plum, black cherry, licorice, olive, bay leaf and spice flavors. Ripe and balanced, with a lingering, spicy, tobacco-tinged aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"The Ca' Marcanda estate does not make a Bolgheri Superiore, although this bottle would qualify as such. The 2018 Bolgheri Rosso Camarcanda is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and you definitely feel those full-throttle varietal aromas with big intensity and clarity. Spicy greenness comes forward as grilled rosemary and lavender essence, but the wine boasts nice depth and dimension, and enough textual richness to smooth it all out. This was a slightly cooler vintage with some sporadic rain showers throughout the summer. These conditions might explain the sharper side of those Cabernet aromas. As the wine moves over the palate, it reveals more substantial aromas of black fruit, spice and baker's chocolate." Wine Advocate

“Camarcanda” Bolgheri DOC 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
Camarcanda is a rich Bolgheri Rosso Superiore with a dark bouquet of black fruits, espresso, chocolate, liquorice and tar. On the palate, it is decidedly full-bodied, with excellent depth, dense structure and firm body. Opulent and long, this wine already shows a wide range of its personality. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby, rich to the rim. Intense and appealing nose, very clearly marked, lots of blueberries and dark currants, some blood orange, some liquorice in the background. Grippy, savoury tannin, a bit grippy at the core, lots of dark berry fruit, spreads out steadily, juicy and long." Falstaff
"Gentle and lifted. Hardly noticeable tannins, except for some very fine leather tannins at the very end. Very 21st century and polished. A real statement!" Jancis Robinson
"It may be due to Angelo's aura that the Ca' Marcanda often has something slightly "Barolo-like", but here the whole thing is framed by cassis and cabernet aromas, which then quickly transports you back to Gaja's outpost in Bolgheri. As well as being a little too toasty for me in the past, it's also regularly a little more floral. The 2019 in particular is immensely fragrant, drawing gorgeous blueberry and ripe raspberry notes, with liquorice and orange peel resonating behind. It's often grippy in the mouth too, with trenchant tannins, but is much more precise and juicy in the 2019 version than many a year before. Never liked it so much before." Weinwisser
"The 2019 Camarcanda is a very good example of how much the wines have changed here. Medium-bodied and with good depth, the 2019 Camarcanda is a tightly wound wine that needs a few more years to be at its best. Dark cherry, mocha, new leather, liquorice and spice build nicely, with lovely floral and mineral accents enlivening the finish. The 2019 is stylish, elegant and polished. Give it a couple of years as the tannins are quite intense today, but with air it will mellow nicely." Vinous
"This wine is almost viscous, but remains balanced and lively thanks to the lively acidity. It offers aromas of blackberries, dark plums and blueberries, framed by tar and toasted oak. The finish is both dense and clean, with hints of liquorice. Excellent length and potential." Wine Spectator
"A very nice young red wine with blackcurrant, fresh herbs and hints of cedar and smoke. It is full-bodied yet very polished and refined with a beautiful texture. Extremely long and graceful. Taste after 2025." James Suckling
"Ca' Marcanda is officially a Bolgheri DOC, not a Superiore, but it is handled as if it were a Superiore. The blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc (there has been no Merlot since 2015) - a small percentage as whole grape - is aged for 18 months in oak (10% new). Volume and liveliness are the hallmarks of this 2019. The nose is super floral, with a graceful aroma of violets, subtle cassis, a smorgasbord of Mediterranean herbs, Bolgheri's signature eucalyptus leaf, and spicy chocolate and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied, with fine, crisp tannins and brilliant acidity. An enticing wine to wait for." Decanter
"This is a great vintage that continues to develop beautifully. Since my last tasting of the 2019 Bolgheri Rosso Camarcanda, I have increased my rating by one point to underline the great potential of this vintage. This wine could legally be a Bolgheri Superiore, but Angelo Gaja prefers not to use qualifying wine terms such as Superiore, Classico or Riserva in his various wine projects that span from Piedmont to Tuscany to Etna. Semantics aside, this is a great wine - certainly one of the best made at Ca' Marcanda - with impressive intensity and balance. Dark fruits and blackberries contrast with spices, tobacco, grilled rosemary and Mediterranean blackberries. The 2019 vintage was characterised by favourable weather conditions and "just the right amount of rain," Gaja said." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva DOCG 2015
With the fruit-driven, round and almost perfect in all components 2015 vintage, the Riserva of Poggio di Sotto climbs new spheres. It is not only an enormously classic representative of the appellation, but it also presents that certain little bit more of all components, which makes it a very great wine and makes it stand out from the sea of very good 2015s. On the nose and palate, an inspiring potpourri of primary and secondary fruit. From cherry, crème de cassis, tar, liquorice and balsamic herbal spice to perfectly integrated tannin and a refined cedar component, we find everything here that makes a highly complex red. A classic that could not be more perfect. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, brightening ruby-garnet. Finely marked nose with distinct notes of ripe raspberries, juicy, fresh cherries and a hint of leather. Very impressive on the palate, fine, slightly grippy tannin in many layers characterises the wine, embedded in fine melting, ripe red berry fruit, firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"Extremely perfumed with black-cherry, plum and red-cherry aromas that follow through to a full body with very fine, pretty tannins that follow through to a flavorful finish. Pretty balance and refinement. All about finesse." James Suckling
"Poggio Di Sotto's 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is undeniably elegant and feminine, impressing with an alluring bouquet which mixes spiced black cherry with hints of sage, mint, dried roses and white smoke. It enters the palate soft, lifted and youthfully understated, cascading bright red fruits laced with minerals across a core of stimulating acids as nuanced tannins slowly build. An air of red currant, licorice and inner florals linger, as the 2015 Riserva flexes its structural muscle throughout the cheek-puckering finale. This will require quite a bit of cellaring to fill out and settle down, yet is sure to be worth the wait. I followed the 2015 Riserva over the course of four days and it never declined." Vinous
"There’s a leafy underbrush element to this red, punctuating the cherry, strawberry and earth flavors. Compact for now, yet balanced, with a taut, reserved finish. Offers tension and suppleness, with plenty in reserve." Wine Spectator
"The Poggio di Sotto 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva shows extra muscle definition, power and heady layers of rich fruit. This is all in line with the personality of the vintage, which was sunny and warm with golden sunlight throughout the summer season. This wine stands out for its fine-gained texture, which is smooth and polished. This Riserva offers aromas of cherry and blackberry and shows the depth that you should expect of a classic Riserva bottling." Wine Advocate

“Contrada PT Pettineo Vino” Rosso Terre Siciliane IGT 2020 (BIO) · 6 bottles in OWC
The Frappato Vino di Contrada PT (with fruit from the Contrada Pettineo) is a shade lower in colour intensity than the BB. This wine is similar to the FL in terms of accessibility and the very silky and delicate nature of its fruit. Arianna Occhipinti has achieved something marvellous for our collective understanding of the Frappato grape with the fermentation of these contrasting wines. Pettineo has sandy soils, and the Alberello vines (later converted to trellises) are over 60 years old. It is definitely on the right track, as you get a better understanding of the range of the grape variety. This expression shows bright freshness, wild berries, wild roses and hints of sweet almonds. Around 2,700 bottles were produced. SUPERIORE.DE
"It's the finest and most perfumed of the three contrada wines, offering hedgerow berries and lovely florality. Intense, vibrant red fruits and juicy acidity combine on the textured, airy, vertical palate, with some hints of dried cherry on the long, sapid finish. Delicious!" Decanter
"The Frappato Vino di Contrada PT 2020 (from old vines of Contrada Pettineo) has a unique bouquet that stands out from the other wines in this series, especially in this warm and sunny vintage. There is a hint of purple plum, but the aromas are mainly focused on red fruit flavours with cassis and fresh cherries. I love the lively, powerful approach of this vibrant wine. It feels very lively." Wine Advocate
