“Cuvée XX” Soave Classico DOC 2023
The grapes for this wonderful Soave Classico come from the cru sites in front of the Castello di Soave and on the Costeggiola hill, a very hilly terrain with a silty-sandy texture, rich in active limestone and volcanic rock. Floral and delicate notes of fresh yellow fruit. Dry on the palate, beautifully expressive and very precise with a lively freshness. A very appealing everyday wine with a lovely drinkability. “Colombara” Soave Classico DOC 2023
Colombara is a wonderful Soave from the single vineyard of the same name: bright straw yellow in colour, the elegant aroma is slightly sweet on the nose, then fruity, enriched with notes of toasted bread. On the palate, there are hints of acacia, followed by rich fruit flavours of peach, apple and pineapple. A well-balanced Soave Classico, soft and characterised by good freshness. SUPERIORE.DE

“Monte di Colognola” Soave DOC 2023
The Soave DOC Monte di Colognola tells the story of the volcanic area in the hilly west of the appellation. The lively bouquet has fresh notes of white elderberry and peach blossom, sweet lemon peel and lemongrass. On the palate, the wine recalls the sweet and juicy sensation of grapes, finishing elegantly and refined with floral notes of camomile and citrus fruits. SUPERIORE.DE
"There's a whoosh of white pepper on the nose and then so fragrant: the scent of summer hay meadow and grass pollen. Bags of golden apples and sweet pomelo and a rather delicious uptick of lemongrass and tomato vine and coriander seeds. A frisson of chalk-and-stone dust. So clean and so fresh but rounded and a real undertow of interest and substance. Real length looping back to the white-pepper fragrance of the start." Jancis Robinson
"A really good Soave. Concentrated, savoury and well-structured, with notes of quince paste, apricot chutney, curry powder and pronounced pepper, compressed by a reductive minerality, bright acidity and a wave of phenols. A very impressive start. Even convincing. Lasting." James Suckling

Soave DOC 2023
Brigaldara's Soave is a fresh, clear and very successful white wine. Aromas of ripe apples, lime zest, flowers and a delicate hint of spice. Soft and supple on the palate, very focussed on the fruit and the pleasing acidity, with notes of almonds that give it a respectable depth. Subtle notes of kiwi and citrus fruit on the pleasant finish - very successful! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sensibly under screw cap, a fair closure for this type of sharp, mineral, medium-bodied white wine. And it's very good too, albeit in a more traditional form. Orchard fruits, jasmine and a hint of tangerine peel, marking a noble bitter finish of excellent persistence. Very easy to drink. Lasting." James Suckling

“Otto 40 anni” Soave DOC 2023 (BIO)
"I am particularly attached to this wine, which is named after the border collie that lived with us for fifteen years. Otto is the youngest wine we have, fresh and ready to drink. A wine you should always have in your cellar." Graziano Prà
Pale straw yellow in colour. Delicate bouquet of white flowers, spices, lime and green apple. On the palate, the intensity of the green citrus fruit unfolds together with a deep, salty minerality. A balanced inner sweetness lends the whole a fantastic harmony. Otto finishes long with traces of candied lime, and its fresh tension offers plenty of drinking pleasure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium-light yellow colour; fresh, mineral-stone fruit; medium-bodied, fruity, white plums, juicy, drinky, pleasing." (JLF) Merum
"Energetic, medium-bodied Soave. Delicious to drink. Prosaic in the best sense, with attractive notes of garden herbs, aniseed and freshly sliced Asian pears. A certain undissolved CO2 content gives the wine a pleasant length." James Suckling

The floral and citrus flavours of the wine create a beautiful and inviting atmosphere. Bright lemon and lime flavours unfold on the palate, offering a tangy and invigorating experience. This Soave is the perfect embodiment of freshness and makes you want to crack it open and savour its refreshing qualities. “Vigna Monte Ceriani” Soave DOC 2022
The volcanic soils of Monte di Colognola give Monte Ceriani a mineral framework, a symmetrical matrix of flint and phenol in which the fruit flesh is deeply embedded. White pears, almond cream, white peach and lime. A hint of finely ground pepper. The finest silvery streaks of acidity thread the whole into a glittering carpet of light. Harmonious aroma of citrus fruits, especially grapefruit. Powerful flavour, fresh, long-lasting and accompanied by a wonderful almond/peppery mineral finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"At first the wine smelt a little bit of marzipan and grilled pineapple. It began to build, more and more aromatic. Concentric circles of flavour and structure, bringing honeysuckle and green tea, lemongrass and baked pear, bergamot and passion-fruit flowers, and always but almost invisible in the background, a delicate savouriness of crushed almonds and roasted buckwheat. It doesn't have the taut acidity of the 2021 – instead, an almost downy softness – but the wine still has trajectory and focus. And it is still thrillingly complex." Jancis Robinson
"A tightly folded wine that promises a bright future in the medium term. Baked quinces, rusty-brown apples, tatami straw, curry powder and bitter almonds, almost like marzipan. And yet nothing is out of place. A medium-bodied Soave with the right quotient of concentration, power and freshness, and with this winning ensemble, a dazzling length. It gets even better." The grapes for the Soave Classico "Vintage Edition", vinified according to the Veronese tradition, come from Bertani's vineyards on the western slope of the volcanic Soave hill, north of the castle. “Vecchie Vigne” Soave DOC 2021
Wonderfully complex Soave from vines over 20 years old. Sparkling light yellow colour with green reflections. A restrained, reductive bouquet of bitter almond, flint, jam with white and yellow fruit flesh, dried fruit and biscuits. The palate is dry, warm and soft, yet fresh, spicy and slightly astringent, with a full, balanced body. With increasing aeration, it reveals its great complexity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Smells of chamomile and honey, just a teeny bit smoky. Beeswax texture, dense and fondu smooth, but the flavours are anything but. It's fireworks, a kaleidoscope of pepper and sage, candied citrus peel and grilled yuzu. Aloe and lanolin. Pear and tofu curds. Green almonds and walnut. Wonderful saltiness and great tension shaping the finish into long, intent focus." Jancis Robinson
"This Soave is characterised by its indelible concentration, its compact balance and its impeccable details. Complex notes of cardamom, cherries, quince, tamarind and smoked curry leaves. An intoxicating substance. The skilful handling of the skin and careful crafting have produced a style that stands out from the crowd so much that it attracts the drinker in search of loyalty to place and a real point of difference. A whirlwind of intoxicating complexity. A wine for the nerd, the thrill-seeker and the everyday drinker all at once." James Suckling

Give this wine another year in the bottle to develop. A wine full of grace and elegance, full of finesse and complexity. SUPERIORE.DE

“Staforte” Soave Classico DOC 2021 (BIO)
"This wine was born as a challenge. In 2004, when we started making it, ageing it in steel was against the general trend of ageing complex Soave wines in barrique. Today we are glad that we took this risk." Graziano Prà
The grapes for the Staforte come from the core zone of the Soave Classico, which is a pure expression of the mineral soil on which the vines grow. Apricot, peach and crisp golden apple mingle with notes of dried camomile and white flowers. Deep and full-bodied on the palate, very taut, with mineral finesse, fine acidity and creaminess through to a long, impressive final. SUPERIORE.DE
"White peach and peach skin flavours transition into a medium-bodied palate with minerals from gravel in the mid-palate. Crisp, fruity and mineral finish with decent length." James Suckling
"A bright, zesty white, with lively hints of grapefruit zest and milled white pepper accenting peach, lentil and mineral notes. Lingering, creamy finish." Wine Spectator
"The Soave Classico Staforte 2021 seduces with a complex bouquet that combines exotic flowers and tropical citrus fruits with crushed green apples and a hint of mint. Silky smooth yet vibrantly fresh, it floods the palate with crunchy fruit and mineral notes carried by brilliant acidity. It finishes with enormous length, perfumed and energetic, leaving a lemony concentration that slowly fades away. The Staforte 2021 is already a pleasure to drink now, but it is also suitable for medium-term cellaring." Vinous

“Massifitti” Trebbiano Veronese IGT 2021 (BIO)
Massifitti is a great white wine, without question! It is so fine and silky that you can sense beautiful ashy flint notes and crushed minerals on the finish. The Trebbiano di Soave Massifitti is soft and supple with a generous bouquet that exudes citrus, peach and honeydew melon. It shows its clear definition and dimension here, and the Tessari sisters from Suavia have created a wine in a class of its own. Vinification takes place in stainless steel with 15 months maturation on the lees. SUPERIORE.DE

“Monte Carbonare” Soave Classico DOC 2022 (BIO)
Monte Carbonare comes from red volcanic iron soils with plenty of black basalt in the centre. Six hectares of 60-70 year old vines in cooler sites, which continue to rise to the crème de la crème of the top sites as the climate warms. A richer wine than the younger Classico, but without the same cheeky vitality. While the Classico is an unbeatable everyday wine, the Monte Carbonare is a complex wine that demands food and a little more contemplation. Mirabelle plum, apricot pit, a hint of dried mango and plenty of smoky, sharp mineral grip, with dutiful freshness that brings marvellous length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Golden light yellow; yeasty-fruity notes; round, full-bodied, yeasty, complex and deep, juicy acidity, length, drinky." (JLF) Merum
"A serious and very precise Soave with subtle citrus flavours and notes of orange blossom, hay and crushed stones. Finely balanced and concentrated, with a medium body and fine texture. Spicy and exciting with a gentle phenolic note and a hint of lemon peel and ginger on the finish." James Suckling

Recioto di Soave Classico DOCG 2020 dolce
This white dessert wine with DOCG status is made from 100% Garganega grapes from selected volcanic plots in the Costeggiola vineyard in Soave, where the grapes are predestined for drying due to the advanced age of the vines (22 to 50 years) and the resulting very manageable yield. This takes place for three to five months in the "fruttaio", after which the wine is matured for 30 months in stainless steel tanks and 5 hl wooden barrels.
Very concentrated nose of stone fruit, lemon zest and honey. Opulent on the palate with a good balance of sweetness and acidity - overall, this dessert wine is very fresh and well-rounded, making it an excellent accompaniment to not-too-sweet desserts and perfectly matured soft cheeses. Just 2,666 numbered bottles go on sale with each vintage. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, sparkling red gold colour. Inviting nose with notes of apricot jam, ripe pears and slightly resinous components that add playfulness. Lots of sweet, ripe fruit on the palate at first, again apricot, but also honeydew melon, then quite pronounced bitter components on the final, alternating between sweet and bitter." Falstaff

“Carbonare” Soave Classico DOC 2022
Strong, bright straw yellow colour. Characterful, youthful and rich bouquet of dried nectarines, peach, yellow apple, mint and a fresh hint of almonds. The depth of its texture is in perfect contrast to the savoury acids, minerals and notes of sour apples, but a feeling of balanced ripeness always remains. The finish is long and structured and seems to melt slowly on the palate, leaving savoury spices and a fine tannin behind. It already has a lot to offer today, but should mature a little more in the bottle for more structure and elegance. A wonderfully exciting interpretation of Garganega from a small single vineyard in the Carbonare region. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, light golden yellow colour. Elegant, multi-layered bouquet with notes of ripe pear, lime and yellow pepper, with a hint of flint on the finish. Beautifully harmonious on the palate with a compact fruit centre, invigorating acidity and fine juiciness on the lingering finish." Falstaff
"Notes of spiced quince, lemon peel, camphor and salted almonds. Salty wines are all the rage, and this wine has plenty of phenolic saltiness and a distinct acidity. The long and convincing finish is carried by a hint of energy. A brilliant Soave. A true mountain wine." James Suckling

“Monte Grande” Soave Classico DOC 2021 (BIO)
"This wine comes from my family's historic vineyard. It is a wine that is the result of long reflection, study and experimentation, where nothing has been left to chance: Monte Grande is to be my great Soave wine." Graziano Prà
Monte Grande is the house's white cru and a blend of 70% Garganega and 30% Trebbiano di Soave of great complexity with ideal ageing potential. Deep bouquet of exotic fruits and rocks with a fine citrus note. Multi-layered and spicy on the palate, intense and sharply focussed, with mineral notes and a pretty salty core. Beautifully crafted acidity, with notes of orange zest and almonds on the long finish. A terrificmasterpiece! SUPERIORE.DE
"Ripe fruit on the nose, from pineapple to gooseberry and a hint of snowberry. Medium-bodied with a gentle honey note competing with stony minerals that colour the finish. A powerful Monte Grande." James Suckling
"A rich petrol note on the nose that underlines the flavours of blood orange, pink grapefruit granita, blanched almonds and white flowers on the palate. The generous, expressive profile of this wine is well tamed by well-balanced acidity and a hint of salinity on the finish." Wine Spectator
"A vibrant mix of wild flowers, yellow apples and ground ginger form a captivating bouquet as the Soave Classico Monte Grande 2021 blossoms in the glass. It is round and supple, with cooling minerality and fresh acidity that gives a wonderful lift to ripe stone fruit and minty herbal notes. A hint of lime and a saline note give the 2021 a lovely finish that is long and colourful, but graceful and floral. What a treasure." Vinous
"Aromas of an elegant bouquet of white blossoms, crushed stones and ripe apricots. Its palate elegantly navigates between a silky texture and a vibrant acidity, culminating in a flinty minerality that captures the essence of the Soave landscape." Wine Enthusiast

“Le Rive” Bianco Veronese IGT 2019 (BIO)
The aromas of citrus fruit, almonds and exotic fruit are impressive in Le Rive. Its flavour is soft and powerful, with a wonderful freshness right into the long finish. A wonderful, elegant wine that once again puts the three sisters at the forefront of their region. SUPERIORE.DE
"The oldest vines of the estate at 85-years-old. The warmest site, south-facing. While palpably dry, the fruit becomes intuitively tropical of nature by virtue of the site's proclivity for later harvesting. Thus, the 'Vendemmia Tardiva' nomenclature. The only wine at this address that sees oak (large, neutral French), handled beautifully as a buttress for the teeming fruit, laced with gingery spice across a long, bolshy finish." James Suckling

“Foscarino 30 anni” Soave Classico DOC 2022
Foscarino from vines over 40 years old is matured for 12 months on the fine lees in used barrique barrels and stainless steel and is probably one of the most complex Soave Classico wines we have ever tasted. Bright straw yellow in colour with golden reflections. Elegant, inviting bouquet of light honey, dried citrus fruit, exotic flowers and a hint of ginger. Juicy and straightforward on the palate of layered stone fruit, precise and with piquant acidity, all proportions are impressively right here. Complex and multi-layered, it reveals new impressions with every glass and increasing aeration and ends in a salty finish, very exciting! SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant straw yellow colour with greenish-gold reflections. Elegant and inviting on the nose of ripe stone fruit, with notes of camomile and fine fumé. Almost creamy on entry, glides gently over the palate with a juicy fruit centre and great harmony on the long finish." Falstaff
"This wine is very intense with electric acidity. Dried apples, lemons and minerals with a salty undertone. Full-bodied, with phenolic tension and an extremely long finish. Hints of oysters. It needs another two or three years to show its greatness, but it's already fantastic." James Suckling

Few people know that Soave wine from the Veneto is produced in a volcanic wine region, such as Mount Vesuvius near Naples or Mount Etna in Sicily. In fact, it is the only volcanic wine-growing area in the whole of northern Italy. The 1,700-hectare volcanic core zone lies in the heart of the wine-growing area, between the eponymous town of Soave and the municipality of Monteforte d'Alpone, and is known as the Soave Classico DOC appellation. So if you find the name Soave Classico on a wine label, the bottle comes from this ancient volcanic production zone of basalt, tufa and pumice soils, where extremely juicy and mineral-spicy Soave Classico wines can be vinified.
Around the core area, one finds oneself in the larger Soave DOC designation of origin, where a much leaner and fruity-scented Soave style prevails compared to the classic zone. The reason for this is the flat plains with limestone soils on which the vines are planted. These vineyards came about in times of wine industrialisation due to the booming demand of the seventies, when the boundaries of the classic Soave zone were blown up in favour of lucrative mass production. After Soave was sold only by volume and gradually displaced by Pinot Grigio, a number of top winemakers such as Inama and Suavia decided to shift the production focus back to quality. Since this radical rethink, the focus has been on continuous quality improvement and the stylistic range that Soave has to offer in the two growing zones. Happily, today the number of winemakers producing truly brilliant and versatile Soave wines from the 7,000 hectares of vines is higher than ever before.
The revival also introduced a new quality system under which Soave from the limestone soils was classified as the entry-level fruity-fresh category, followed by the more strictly regulated volcanic Soave Classico wines. The top category is for Soave Superiore DOCG, which may come from the volcanic Classico area as well as from the adjacent Soave DOC vineyards and the nearby Colli Scaligeri.
All Soave wines are made from at least 70% high-yielding Garganega, a grape variety that naturally brings intense tropical fruit aromas and a very pleasant acidity. It is one of Italy's oldest grape varieties and may be blended for the three Soave wines with the late-ripening Trebbiano di Soave (also known as Verdicchio) up to 30%, which provides the typical, slightly almond-like finish. In addition, other varieties such as Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc are also allowed to a lesser extent.
Despite the same grape proportions, Soave, Soave Classico and Soave Superiore could not be more different: The volcanic Soave Classico presents itself sharp, complex, citrus-fruity and mineral-salty, while the lighter Soave style from limestone soils brings out fine notes of white flowers, apricots and tropical fruits. If you like it more concentrated and ripe, we advise a Soave Superiore, which has a minimum alcohol content of 12% and likes to be aged in wooden barrels for several months. Finally, there is the ancient white sweet wine Recioto di Soave DOCG made from dried grapes, which is rightly considered the flagship of the breathtakingly beautiful Venetian appellation. SUPERIORE.DE
