“Collezione Privata” Syrah Toscana IGT 2019
One of the best Syrah in Tuscany with extraordinarily complex aromas such as cassis, praline, exotic spices, black tea and clove. Very dense on the palate, cleanly structured, delicious of ripe black fruits and with earthy notes. Velvety tannins and a long harmonious impression form the impressive final. SUPERIORE.DE
"A big, powerful syrah with a heady nose of violet essence, dried blueberries, sweet tobacco, mocha, vanilla, cracked pepper and grilled meat. Full-bodied with firm, ripe tannins and a chewy and fleshy palate. Delicious sweet-spice notes. Intense. Drink from 2023." James Suckling
"The delightful 2019 Syrah Collezione Privata opens to dark fruit, spice, pepper, crushed stone, blue flower and milky blueberry. The wine handles its oak nicely (with 18 months in barrique, including French oak and a tiny percentage of American oak, and one-third new barrel). It delivers seamless integration, especially in this concentrated vintage, pitting freshness against fruit weight and primary intensity. Its texture is soft and creamy." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 Syrah Collezione Privata is quite delicate and silky in this vintage, with a distinctly red-fruited profile that is unusual. Spice, orange peel, dried flowers and white pepper lend brightness to a Syrah that is both deep and light on its feet. I especially admire the vibrancy here." Vinous

Barolo Mosconi DOCG 2018 (BIO)
The vivacious Chiara Boschis has been a rather modernist Barolo winemaker for over 25 years, although she now uses much less new oak than in the past. She is best known for her Cannubi, but her Mosconi, from 1 ha of this top vineyard in Monforte d'Alba, can be just as good in some vintages.
Medium to deep crimson. Very nice nose of earthy, complex cherry and blackberry fruit with subtle oak notes and a hint of pine. On the palate juicy and smooth red fruit, very concentrated. Delicious, crisp tannins. It is a plump, full-bodied and very concentrated wine that is assertive and youthful when young - but in balance. It is darker and fruitier than most classic Barolos, yet always structured, complex, taut and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, dark garnet with light rim. Very fragrant nose of wild raspberry, dark cherry, plum, clove and some cinnamon. Full and substantial on the palate, opens up with lots of hearty, grippy tannin, nice melting core, of raspberry and tobacco, long finish." Falstaff
"Plenty of tense, wild-strawberry character to this with bright minerals, too. Medium-bodied with a punchy core of bright fruit, tight tannins and a tense, crystalline finish. Needs time to even out. Best from 2024." James Suckling
"The 2018 Barolo Mosconi shows all the gravitas and natural darkness of this site, but in miniature. Black cherry, plum, gravel, smoke, crushed rocks and incense fill out the layers. There is plenty of Mosconi muscle, even if the volume of the best years isn't there." Vinous
"This red puts it all together—macerated cherry and plum fruit, a silky texture, vibrant structure and elegance—without sacrificing power or harmony. Complex and long, with a haunting finish that provides rose, menthol, licorice and iron accents." Wine Spectator
"Chiara Boschis has recently purchased more vineyards in the Mosconi cru located at a cool 370 meters in elevation in Monforte d'Alba. This is terrific news for those who love the focus and precision that Chiara Boschis is known for. The Mosconi carries generous fruit weight and volume over a streamlined mouthfeel and tight tannins. The wine ends with fresh notes of blackberry, plum and wild rose." Wine Advocate
"The wine is quite a dense ruby colour in the glass, with restrained forest floor scents and whiffs of rosemary, chocolate and wild red fruits. Filigreed and complex, the palate has a delicate attack, firm tannins and good density, with flavours of tar and plenty of violet and pomegranate. Biting and still austere but softened by the French barriques - where the wine ages for two years." Decanter

“Chimera” Occhio di Pernice Vin Santo del Chianti Classico DOC 2006 · in gift box
With the 2006 vintage, Monsanto's Vin Santo was released for the first time as "Occhio di Pernice", i.e. it was made from 100% Sangiovese grapes. It is only vinified in the very best years, the grapes are carefully harvested by hand in October and then placed on special racks where they rest until the beginning of the following year. After gentle pressing, the must is sealed and fermented in small oak, cherry and chestnut barrels in the Vinsantaia, where it is exposed to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
The Chimera sparkles majestically from the glass with its dark copper and garnet red reflections; the colour of the Sangiovese grape is immediately recognisable. The bouquet opens with maple syrup, brown sugar, chocolate and dried plums. On the palate, the wine is surprisingly weightless, balanced, graceful and of terrificdepth. An extremely convincing and high-class Occhio di Pernice with a long life expectancy. SUPERIORE.DE
"An intense Vin Santo with a rich caramel-like character, offering dried fruit, walnuts, a hint of chocolate and a touch of mushrooms on the nose. Full and creamy with plenty of depth and density. It is sweet with a hint of volatility that refreshes the wine and gives it direction and tone at this stage. Nutty and chocolaty on the finish." James Suckling
"The Castello di Monsanto 2006 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Occhio di Pernice La Chimera shows a dark amber colour with ruby and crimson hues. The freshness of the acidity stands out and gives this wine a great injection of life and energy. The bouquet is centred on candied fruit, orange marmalade and plum brandy." Wine Advocate
"The 2006 Vin Santo del Chianti Classico Occhio di Pernice is a wild, exotic wine. The long time in barrel concentrated the flavours, but the bright acids add a degree of freshness - quite remarkable for a sweet wine that is almost 20 years old. Nutmeg, dried flowers, candied figs and tobacco take shape in this complex, moderately sweet vin santo. This marvellous wine is a time machine in a glass." Vinous
"Grilled walnut, caramel, burnt sugar and kumquat flavors highlight this complex dessert wine. Feels more off-dry, with light sweetness and the feel of an Oloroso Sherry. Terrific length. Bring on the nuts and cheeses." Wine Spectator

“Il Poggio” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019
Il Poggio 2019 slowly unfolds its breathtaking aromas of cherry blossom, blood orange, eucalyptus and raspberry. Initially taut and straightforward, it then unfolds on the palate with ripe wild berries underpinned by slate. The chalky tannins keep it firmly under control. This wine will continue to unfold its complex nuances for at least a few decades. Fantastic depth and energy. Incidentally, Il Poggio Gran Selezione was the first Chianti Classico in the appellation to be vinified and bottled as a single-vineyard wine (Cru) in 1962 - a revolution at the time! SUPERIORE.DE
"Starts with a lot of esprit on fresh fruit notes, then also spicy nuances and fresh flowers; elegant course, polished and of great length, convinces with its elegant style." Vinum
"The 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna il Poggio is a powerful, tight-knit wine that will need a few more years to show its best side. I wouldn't dream of touching a bottle any time soon. Crushed flowers, herbs, mint, orange peel and spices hint at a flavoursome, vibrant Il Poggio made for the cellar. Today, the 2019 is deceptive, but there is a lot of potential in it. It's a super-classic expression." Vinous
"A very juicy wine with aromas and flavours of raspberries, cherries, cranberries, orange peel and flowers. It is medium-bodied with firm, velvety tannins that extend over the entire length of the wine and a clean finish." James Suckling
"The Castello di Monsanto 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto Il Poggio offers a dual approach with plenty of fresh cherry fruit and blueberry on the one hand, countered by light age and spice from balanced winemaking on the other. There are subtle notes of cloves and roasted spices on the medium-bodied finish." Wine Advocate
"This beautiful 2019 emerges from the glass, first showing mineral flint notes and white pepper, then arbutus and cherry, followed by orange and hyacinth. It is elegant with an abundance of tangy cranberry and ripe strawberry flavours flowing in a steady stream across the palate. Stony tannins and steely acidity add tension. Tarragon lingers." Decanter
"The aromas of earth and wild herbs give way to flavours of cherries, strawberries and pomegranates in this muscular version. Tar, earth, iron and sanguine elements intermingle, giving the wine depth and a tenacity that needs a few more years to refine. The core of ripe fruit reveals the future promise of this red wine." Wine Spectator
"The aroma has notes of blackcurrant, then hints of wild mint and nutmeg. The mouthfeel is salty-juicy, with a return of small fruits, menthol and sweet spices. Excellent finish." Luca Gardini

Barolo DOCG 2019
The grapes for the estate's classic Barolo come from the vineyards/communes of Ornato, La Serra, Briccolina in Serralunga d'Alba, Gustava and Garretti in Grinzane Cavour, Roncaglie in La Morra, Ravera in Novello and, from the 2015 vintage, also from Mosconi in Monforte d'Alba. It is more of a traditional, classic Barolo with an exciting bouquet of deep, dark fruit and a pretty potpourri of rose petals, spices, smoke and tar. It is full-bodied and firm on the palate, opening up with plenty of dense tannins, very powerful, with pressure and a full bite on the finish, designed for a long life. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium red; inviting, undergrowth, not intense; good fullness and sweetness, also depth, long, round tannin." Merum
"Fruity and floral on the nose; harmonious, still youthful texture, the tannins robust, the evolution precise, the finish polished and fruity. Convinces with its noble construction." Vinum
"Bright ruby colour with garnet and a delicately brightening rim. Fine stony tones on the nose, delicate wild berries, blood oranges, distantly reminiscent of cold earth. Polished on the palate, on fine notes of black tea, slightly balsamic, tense, deep and salty, comes in many layers." Falstaff
"Beautiful flavours of flowers, fresh strawberries and raspberries are followed by a medium to full palate with fine tannins that extend over the entire length of the wine. Undertones of citrus and spice. The finish is long and intense. Tannic finish." James Suckling
"The historic house of Pio Cesare produces some of its best wines today. This classic highlights the purity of Nebbiolo with notes of tart red fruits combined with sweet and savoury spices, followed by subtle hints of flowers and earth. Sour cherry flavours dominate the palate with soft tannins, savoury herbs and a lively finish." Wine Enthusiast
"Pio Cesare has done a great job with his classic Barolo 2019 (produced since 1881). At the bottom of the front label it says "Barolo Pio" in memory of the legendary Pio Boffa. He was a wine entrepreneur who was immediately respected and loved by all who knew him. The wine focuses strictly on the bright Nebbiolo fruit with aromas of redcurrant and aniseed. The finish is soft with tannins that dissolve elegantly on the palate." Wine Advocate

“Caiarossa” Rosso Toscana IGT 2019 (BIO)
The world-famous Caiarossa is an extremely exciting blend of the varieties Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Syrah and Alicante, with the rich and dark fruit aromas of the Cabernet grapes in the foreground. On the nose, a beautiful first wave of dark fruits that never seem too ripe, which greatly benefits the wine's elegance. In the drink very balanced and focused with blackberries, cassis and slight hints of salty or rusty minerals. Caiarossa shows a good degree of elegance, not least because of its fine and taut tannins, and despite its density and complexity, it never seems opulent or even overloaded. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, rich ruby with a slight violet shimmer. Opens with notes of cold smoke, slightly metallic components, behind that blueberries and cranberries, some pepper. Plucky, sturdy tannin, opens in many layers, fine liquorice notes in the final." Falstaff
"Everything about this wine is seamless. It cannot shake off its French mould, but this goes further than just imitation. Gorgeous nose of oak, black fruit and cassis building a real unity. Velvet-like, cool and supple on the palate and effortlessly elegant while generous too. Stony, mineral fruit on the finish. This vintage comes close to the most prestigious of Bolgheri at a far more advantageous price tag. Caiarossa shines a light on the unjustly unknown terroir of Riparbella. Keep this at least for another year for it to show its potential." Jancis Robinson
"Richly scented plums and black cherries on the nose. Weighty and full in the mouth but smooth and soft, the fine tannins well integrated and supporting the bright strawberry, creamy red cherry and plum fruit flavours. Tannins give a chalky texture to the palate, gently supporting the fruit which has a subtle toasted spice to the finish. I love the acidity, the intensity of the sweet yet full fruit at the beginning, a smoky spiced element to the mid palate and a mineral tinged - wet stone, saline finish. Still feels very youthful." Decanter
"The Caiarossa 2019 is a complex blend featuring Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Syrah and Alicante from vineyard sites across this beautiful property in the high hills off the Tuscan coast. This organic and biodynamic wine is full and generous to the palate, yet it never feels heavy or too extracted. The wine is balanced and fresh with thick layers of dark fruit, crushed stone, tobacco and exotic spice." Wine Advocate
"This is an intense, full-bodied yet very well-balanced and polished red with velvety, firm and caressing tannins. Ripe black plums, blueberries, chocolate, mocha, sweet spice and dried lavender. Some oyster shells, too. Layered and full of character. Creamy at the end from the polished tannins." James Suckling

“Sondraia” Bolgheri Superiore DOC 2019
Sondraie, from which the wine takes its name, is a large plateau from Aurelia to Bellaria in the north of the appellation and one of the best sites for Cabernet in Bolgheri. The Oenologist Luca d'Attoma is considered one of the best interpreters of Cabernet Franc in Italy and his wines are always a clear buy. Bright violet colour. The nose is leafy, with dark chocolate and a characteristic aroma of coffee powder, plus blueberry, raspberry, black cherry and undergrowth. On the palate, melted cloves and cassis in perfect balance. Smooth and ripe, with a hint of chalk thanks to the oak tannins on the finish. Amazingly fresh and endlessly long, simply superb! SUPERIORE.DE
"Offers a potpourri of notes of blueberries, chocolate, leather and herbs; the attack is pithy, the tannins robust, ripe acidity, finishes superbly on notes of Mediterranean scrub, blackberries and chocolate." Vinum
"Intense, full garnet ruby colour. Complex on the nose with aromas of tar, dark chocolate, compact oak and lots of dark fruit. Polished and elegant on the palate, precise in the fruit, striking freshness, with young but very fine-grained tannins, still needs some time, but with plenty of ageing potential." Falstaff
"Powerful and firm tannins that set the stage for blackberries, blackcurrants, coffee, iron and a hint of dark chocolate. Smooth and balanced, with a dusty, bitter cocoa finish." Wine Spectator
"The Bolgheri Superiore Sondraia 2019 is a powerful, rather sombre wine. In this tasting, the 2019 stands out due to its extracted style and stronger oak character, which do not allow the wine to show its best side. Notes of dark red fruits, spices, tobacco, espresso and torrefaction unfold in the glass. All in all, this is a very good wine." Vinous
"Aromas of fresh herbs such as parsley and nettles, blackcurrants. Pure and concentrated. Full-bodied with beautiful polished tannins that are tailored and concentrated. Delicious finish. Beautiful balance and delicious for a young wine." James Suckling
"A fleshy, savoury bouquet gets its freshness from herbal and stony undertones, while a hint of salt and pepper adds pep. The palate becomes sweeter, with black cherries and chocolate, but retains the salt and pepper backbone. The tannins are tightly wrapped around a strong acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"Although the price has risen sharply due to demand, Sondraia is still one of the best wines in Bolgheri. This 2019 is extremely youthful, with estery notes on the nose, enhanced by restrained but layered and concentrated blackberry fruit, as well as menthol and chocolate in the depths. The attack is fleshy and firm rather than supple. Full-bodied, with angular tannins and firm acidity." Decanter
"The Poggio al Tesoro 2019 Bolgheri Superiore Sondraia makes excellent use of oak ageing, resulting in soft tannins, sumptuous richness and attractive concentration. The wine is very well made overall, with plenty of black fruit balanced by spices and tobacco. Its important structure suggests a long ageing period." Wine Advocate

“Vigna del Sorbo” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 (BIO)
The Vigna del Sorbo vineyard is located directly in front of the winery. The south-west facing vineyard with Galestro soils covers 8 hectares at an altitude of 450 metres. The Riserva was first produced in 1985 and has been labelled Gran Selezione since the 2010 vintage.
Dark ruby red with light red highlights. Deep and initially unfathomable on the nose. But any spirit of discovery will be enchanted when it opens slowly and very balanced with red cherries, redcurrants, earth, sage and liquorice, revealing more facets with each passing minute. Finally, the mouthfeel shows a similar degree of extreme flavour balance with very fine but still young tannins. This medium-bodied structure, coupled with the wine's natural acidity, is an important guarantee of its great longevity. Our clear conclusion: there is not only a lot to discover here, but also to admire. Chapeau! SUPERIORE.DE
"Promising aromas of raspberries and flowers, with subtle notes of pepper; pithy on the palate, perfectly integrated acidity, lots of juice, power, plump tannins, character and a wonderful spicy final on notes of ripe cherries and sandalwood." Vinum
"Dark ruby red colour with a delicately brightening rim. On the nose, pronounced spicy aromas of ripe wild berries, rich Amarena cherries and clear pepper spice, with a leathery aftertaste. Tight-knit and pithy on the palate, spreads out with grip, very juicy, with a subtle salty undertone, powerful and long with plenty of character, still needs some bottle ageing." Falstaff
"Medium to deep ruby red colour. Spicy, mineral, elegant and a little reserved on the nose. Deep, juicy cherry fruit, supported by the right dose of chewy tannins. Very long. Concentrated, lively and relaxed at the same time." Jancis Robinson
"This wine is elegant, with floral, cherry, raspberry and mineral flavours. A hint of earth shines through, while the finish is graceful." Wine Spectator
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo 2019 is a powerful, virile wine with enormous depth and equally impressive tannins. An explosion of dark fruits, herbs, chocolate, menthol and spices flows from the glass. Generous tannins and a hint of rusticity suggest that the 2019 will not be one of the finest Sorbos, but it is a good effort for this year." Vinous
"Vigna del Sorbo lies at an altitude of 400 metres and has the classic Galestro soil of Chianti Classico. The warm, south-west facing vineyard typically produces a powerful, intense wine that requires ageing. The 2019 shows all the wild, penetrating characteristics of this site, but it quickly comes into harmony and reveals its balance and precision. The wood-accentuated notes of smoke and vanilla give way to pressed violets, rosemary and liquorice. Luscious red cherry and dark plum flesh is enveloped by long, layered, chalky tannins. The palate reveals an energetic bar of unwavering acidity that gives the wine a linear feel. Fennel and crushed stone linger on the finish." Decanter
"Usually excellent Sangiovese in purity of great elegance from Fontodi, with the step ahead of a great vintage. Nose of freshness, marasche, with officinal hints of citron thyme, mouth with a nice acidic shoulder, salty tannins, crispiness and incisiveness. Persistent." Luca Gardini
"This iconic wine has a whole new energy as it is now part of an exciting range of potential Gran Selezione wines being made at Fontodi. Two new additions to the portfolio (Pastrolo from cool Lamole and Terrazze San Leonlino from Panzano) help to give greater context to the organic 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo. This wine naturally benefits from many years of experience and the identity of Vigna del Sorbo is well established. However, soil connoisseurs will be delighted to compare the Vigna del Sorbo from slate-rich Galestro soils with the calcareous alternative from Terrazze San Leonlino. I tend to favour the Vigna del Sorbo because I particularly appreciate the mineral notes of pencil and iron ore that I find so appealing. These dusty notes are rounded off by sweet cherry fruit, plum and spices. Rising alcohol levels can be a problem in sun-drenched Panzano, and the wine team lets the vines grow higher in summer to provide shade and takes other active measures to combat this problem." Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019
As every year, the grapes for Riccardo Campinoti's "white label" come from the scattered vineyards of Le Ragnaie, making the wine a precise and classic snapshot of the diverse Montalcino area and the wonderful 2019 vintage: violets and Mediterranean scrub meet wild strawberries, stones and a fascinating earthiness. It also epitomises the vibrancy of Sangiovese, which initially appears medium-bodied and then gains strength as firm, dusty tannins wrap themselves around a tangy core. The finish is energetic and uplifting - an elegantly moulded Brunello with impeccable symmetry and purity of fruit. As with the estate's single-vineyard bottlings, fermentation is spontaneous, maceration lasts 45 to 50 days and ageing takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels. SUPERIORE.DE
"Almost medium ruby red colour. A lively, concentrated nose of fragrant red fruit. A real upgrade on the Rosso, more complex and with great depth without losing its elegance. Juicy, almost racy and pure on the finish with fine tannins that emphasise the fruit." Jancis Robinson
"The sum of the fruit from different plots in cooler and warmer regions reveals the characteristic tautness of Le Ragnaie. Delicately scented, the nose hints at game and then turns to brushwood, rose hips and alpine flowers. The core of cranberries and redcurrants is medium-bodied and firmly anchored. Bright acidity and firm, crisp tannins provide a solid framework." Decanter
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino opens slowly in the glass, dusty and floral, with a depth of dark red fruits and exotic spices. It is silky smooth with medium body and lively acidity driving the tart wild berries and mineral tones, while rosy florals race across the palate. It finishes with admirable length and concentration. Crisp tannins frame the experience without slowing down the momentum. The 2019 is a wonderful result of the vintage and the style of the house. Don't let it pass you by." Vinous
"The Brunello di Montalcino 2019 shows delicate aromas of blue flowers, redcurrants, cranberries and floral earth. It has all the basic components of a classic Sangiovese. The fruit comes from the estate's vineyards, which are located at an altitude of 200 to 600 metres above sea level, the highest point of the appellation. The palate is spoilt with baking spices and silky, almost glossy tannins. The mouthfeel is very fine. This is a very Burgundian Brunello." Wine Advocate
"This red features a core of cherry and strawberry fruit, along with leafy underbrush and rosemary accents. Sinewy tannins take over midpalate, vying for attention with the fruit on the lingering, mineral-tinged aftertaste, yet this is elegant and balanced overall." Wine Spectator

“Il Grigio” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
Dark, bright ruby with garnet colour. Pure power of aromas, dense and complex with notes of black cherries, smoked ham, savoury herbs, tobacco, liquorice and many other nuances. Equally fascinating on the palate, firm tannins, impressive complexity and depth with noticeable potential for ageing. SUPERIORE.DE
"The nose opens with savory notes of tar, topsoil and balsamic vinegar before a bracingly fresh burst of wild fennel and mint. Fresh, crisp red fruit on the palate has a chocolaty undertone with more tar and crushed rock for a mineral edge, emphasized by tightly coiled tannins." Wine Enthusiast
"Discreet flavours of undergrowth and damp earth mingle with tea, tobacco and thyme. The wine is round and flattering and envelops the palate. As it expands, it reveals its power. The dry tannins at the edges should soften with time, but it is still immediately inviting." Decanter
"It is spicy and racy with dark cherries, redcurrants, savoury herbs, walnuts and sandalwood. Medium to full-bodied with ripe, powdery tannins, juicy acidity and a mineral backbone on the palate. Bright and fruity on the finish." James Suckling
"A supple red with a firm grip wrapped around dark flavours of black cherry, blueberry and earth. Lively, with a slight burr to the chalky tannins on the ferrous finish." Wine Spectator
"The San Felice 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Il Grigio is characterised by its velvety richness and expressive flavour profile. The wine offers a measured intensity with bright purple and black fruits, a good sense of energy and dynamism and a certain lingering spiciness on the finish. It is rich but not heavy." Wine Advocate
"Cranberry in the mouth, nuances of pepper leaves and liquorice. The mouthfeel is savoury, sour cherry comeback." Luca Gardini

Barbaresco “Cottà" DOCG 2018
Bright garnet red with a copper-coloured rim. Fine olfactory cinema of red fruits and sea buckthorn. In addition, forest earth paired with a hint of tobacco and bitter almond. In the glass still young, initially loud tannins, with some air then softer tones and a powerful, lasting final. An elegant, aristocratic wine that leaves a lasting impression not only on the first glass. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant medium ruby red with orange reflections. Concentrated and ripe cherry with hints of cinnamon and Moroccan leather. Generous and concentrated palate with plenty of ripe acidity and very attractive grainy, long and animating tannins." Jancis Robinson
"A mix of ripe plum, black cherry, soy, eucalyptus and iron flavors plumb the depths of this dense red, which is vibrant and balanced, with ironclad tannins exerting influence on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Barbaresco Cottá is, as is often the case, one of the more striking wines in the range. It has that extra richness in the mid-palate that is missing from some of the wines in this vintage. The fruit profile leans towards the exotic end of the spectrum. Sweet red cherry, red plum, blood orange, mint, spice cake, kirsch and rose petals fill out the layers, adding a racy flair that is very appealing." Vinous
"The 2018 Barbaresco Cottá is bright and cheerful, with tart cherry and floral aromas that rise quickly and deliberately. The wine's focused approach is exactly what sets it apart. It offers a direct delivery of wild berry fruit, honed and brought into focus by minerals, wild rose and liquorice. With a run of 7,000 bottles, the Cottá vineyard in the village of Neive is truly special." Wine Advocate

“Vigna del Sorbo” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020 (BIO)
"Single-vineyard wine from 55-year-old vines in the Conca d'Oro of Panzano: seductive notes of raspberries, spiced up with notes of dried roses and pepper; balanced texture, the acidity fresh, the tannins velvety and long-lasting. Pleasing with its fullness and elegance." Vinum
"Bright ruby red colour, dark. A savoury nose of ripe cherries, wild berries, graphite, dark spices and peppercorns, with a wet earth aftertaste. Juicy on the palate, with tightly woven tannins and superbly developed cherry fruit, profound and earthy, beautiful length, the months of additional ageing have done the wine a lot of good." Falstaff
"Aromas of stems, dried meat, berries and cherries with some dusty earth. The palate is firm and fresh, bright and crisp. It shows a certain texture of cement and stone." James Suckling
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo is one of the most backward editions of this wine that I can remember tasting. Dark and almost sombre, the Vigna del Sorbo packs a tonne of intensity into its deceptively mid-weight frame. In many vintages, the Vigna del Sorbo is quite showy in its youth. This is not at all the case with the 2020, a wine that will need many more years to show its best side. With time, hints of lavender, dried herbs, plums and graphite emerge, but the 2020 is clearly a child. There is a sense of youthful austerity (in a positive sense) that I find very appealing. The Sorbo 2020 is a wine for those who can wait." Vinous
"This red is tightly wound, straightforward in profile and full of flavours of black cherries, blackberries, blueberries, fresh loam and minerals, supported by lively acidity and dense, soft tannins that combine beautifully with the tension and silky texture. Shows fantastic length." Wine Spectator
"The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo 2020 (with an edition of 25,000 bottles) is a generous expression of Sangiovese of unique intensity, showing tremendous precision and focus. This organic wine offers black fruits, grilled rosemary, pressed rose and crushed limestone. All of these flavours have a particular forward intensity that combines with the generous fruit richness for which this sunny vintage will be remembered." Wine Advocate
"A wine capable of expressing itself for years at the absolute top of the typology, Sangiovese with a small contribution of Cabernet Sauvignon, but above all the territory of Panzano. Intense nose, black currant, officinal scents, of citron thyme, then notes of clementine peel. At the sip is savory, with a fruity recall." Luca Gardini

Barbaresco “Basarin” DOCG 2018
Do you know the small vineyard Basarin near Neive? A bright ruby garnet awaits you and a wine from a particularly beautiful vintage: on the nose, a cornucopia of aromas of wild sour cherry, herbs, some liquorice and tobacco. Firm and very clearly structured on the palate, muscular and yet with an elegance that never loses control due to its power. Basarin is a highly energetic and precise Nebbiolo that reveals its complexity only with some patience and aeration. The neighbouring terroir Neive shows itself with distinguished elegance and marries harmoniously with the volume and weight typical of the site - and in a depth that only vines over 50 years old can produce. SUPERIORE.DE
"Mid ruby with orange tinges. Captivating nose of deep perfumed cherry fruit with hints of white pepper and a minty cardamom hint. Supple, concentrated palate with firm but ripe tannins. Long and multi-layered and with plenty of future." Jancis Robinson
"Steeped plum, cherry, eucalyptus, tar and mineral flavors are backed by beefy tannins in this streamlined red. A core of ripe fruit plies the middle, before the tannins exert their grip on the finish. Muscular, yet balanced and long." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Barbaresco Basarin is a very pretty, classy wine. Dark red cherry, pomegranate, flowers and licorice notes are all nicely lifted. An elegant, supple wine, the Basarin will drink well with minimal cellaring. The purity of the fruit is striking. Readers will find a wine of total elegance and class. This is a stellar showing." Vinous
"Balsamic aromas of camphor mingle with earthy whiffs of forest floor, new leather, cedar and wild berries on this elegant, full-bodied red. The tight, linear palate is delicious and loaded with personality, delivering ripe Morello cherry, mocha, licorice and an earthy note of truffle framed in firm, fine-grained tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it well-balanced." Wine Enthusiast
"The Sottimano 2018 Barbaresco Basarin shows tart cherry fruit and plum backed by lovely layers of crushed mineral, iron ore, spice and crushed flowers. The wine reveals an inner brightness or tartness that tastes terrific next the more nuanced character of the Nebbiolo grape. Basarin shows power and elegance in equal measure, and that is never an easy feat for any winemaker to accomplish. Production is limited to 5,500 bottles." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino “Pianrosso” DOCG 2019
Pianrosso comes from a south-west facing vineyard in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate subzone at an altitude of around 300 metres with mainly Galestro soils. It is dark, rich and deeply seductive, showing ripe black fruit enveloped in hints of gravel, sage and exotic spices. Although it has a velvety and almost creamy texture, it finds harmony through juicy acids and a blend of ripe black cherries and plums. Notes of liquorice and baker's chocolate balance the salty minerality and fine-grained tannins of the Pianrosso in a long and dramatic final. For a wine with such power, this is a beautiful symmetry. Definitely put it away for a few more years. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Cru is a selection of the best vines. Dark, spicy bouquet, extremely complex and multi-faceted, beguiling with fresh, ethereal, smoky and herbaceous notes reminiscent of Mediterranean herbs, with mineral, salty hints and floral nuances (rose petals, violet blossom), backed by redcurrant. Dense and powerful on the palate with a core of fresh, juicy fruit, very cleverly arranged, skilfully framed by fine, polished, almost sweetish tannins that linger on forever, very elegant, with dark, ethereal-balsamic spicy notes on the long final." Weinwisser
"Sparkling ruby colour with a bright garnet rim. Finely drawn, appealing nose with clear notes of rosehip, crisp cherries, some blood orange and clove. Opens on the palate with pithy, gripping tannins, flows calmly, with a lovely sweet mellowness on the finish, very good tension, savoury and long." Falstaff
"Sweet berries and cherries on the nose, along with fresh violet and lilac notes. Full-bodied with juicy tannins and a spicy finish that opens up on the palate. Lots of ripe cherry flavour. Also tar. A rich and multi-layered Pianrosso. One of the bigger, riper wines of the vintage." James Suckling
"The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso tempts the imagination with a darkly alluring bouquet that keeps the taster at the edge of the glass as a cooling whiff of smoke gives way to dried flowers, cedar and exotic spice. It flows across the palate with textures of pure silk, finessed and graceful, with depths of intense red and black fruits that slowly saturate. The 2019 turns inward upon itself through the finish, tannic and long with notes of licorice and cacao bean. This is a serious rendition of Pianrosso that will require patience to enjoy fully. That said, it’s sure to be worth the wait." Vinous
"Pianrosso is a selection from the vineyard of the same name: 11 hectares in the lower south-east of Montalcino. The grapes were harvested between 11 September and 4 October 2019, which suggests a classic vintage. It shines with its earl grey tea aroma, combined with dark cherry, cinnamon, liquorice and a floral bouquet. The fruit character is very dark and precise; marvellous in this vintage. Full-bodied, dense and velvety with firm, long yet integrated acidity, it tapers off on the finish, but this is a sign of its elegance." Decanter
"The Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona 2019 Brunello di Montalcino Pianrosso opens with a broad and all-encompassing bouquet of dried cherries or cherry pie with crust, plum cake and rose potpourri. There are obvious oak tones, but they fade into underbrush, grilled herbs and the generous texture of this wine. Even the 15% alcohol content disappears into the fleshy fruitiness of the wine. Certainly this is a wine that needs more bottle age to develop the suppleness and beautiful freshness of such an important Sangiovese." Wine Advocate
"A cornerstone of the typology, we are in the south-east region of the denomination, a stone's throw from Castelnuovo dell'Abate. Rich nose, notes of red mulberries, then rosemary and hints of Peranzana olives. The flavour is spicy, with a return of red mulberry and iodised nuances." Luca Gardini

“VinSanGiusto” Passito Bianco Toscana IGT 2016 (BIO) dolce · in gift box
One of Italy's best sweet wines cannot be called "Vin Santo" because its high concentration means it does not reach 12% alcohol. However, this is completely uninteresting, because the aromatic, spicy forest honey notes, the sweet fruit balanced by a fine acidity and the wonderful spiciness that characterise this wine do not need any official regulations. It simply tastes delicious. Best enjoyed with strong cheeses, with desserts - or simply take a glass of it "solo" as a dessert. SUPERIORE.DE
"The San Giusto a Rentennano 2016 Vin San Giusto (in a 375-millilitre bottle) is a thick and glycerine-rich dessert wine with dried fruit, chewy caramel, white sultanas and a hint of chocolate or roasted coffee beans. On the palate, the wine is very rich and lingers heavily in the memory until the end. I also perceive a strange mineral note, almost metallic or like a tin can. The wine moves with slow, languid swirls in the glass." Wine Advocate
"The Vin San Giusto 2016 is great. It offers a compelling blend of floral brightness that emphasises its natural textural intensity. Brown sugar, dried flowers, toffee, mint, leather and spice are all beautifully delineated. The 2016 is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted. As always, it's 90% Malvasia and 10% Trebbiano, which has been aged in wood for six years." Vinous

Limitation of 2 articles per customerBarbaresco “Pajoré" DOCG 2019
The Sottimano winery has five vineyard sites, with the Pajorè site near Treiso having the poorest soils of all. These wines are therefore more elegant and ripe. Pajoré is a super-classic, explosive wine, with tremendous depth and character. Although it has a lot of breadth and texture, it remains light on its feet. Lavender, mint, liquorice and purple berry fruit are beguiling and wonderfully vibrant in the glass. Pajorè is a spicy, elegant and sweet Nebbiolo that is fine yet covers the mouth well - and we are always impressed by its lovely salty mouthfeel. SUPERIORE.DE
"The strong site character comes through nicely, the earthy spice paired with juice, velvet and charming fruit can please, the sturdy tannin gives a nice frame." Weinwisser
"Lustrous mid ruby. A concentrated raspberry nose that is a little brooding. With aeration, it opens up and shows fantastic depth of fruit with touches of cinnamon bark. Juicy sweet raspberry fruit and finely ground, chewy tannins vie for attention. Really elegant and still quite youthful, so it needs more time." Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Barbaresco Pajorè is dense and quite closed in on itself. Then again, that is Pajorè. There's terrific depth and density here, but not quite the power of some recent releases. That's not a bad thing, as the more restrained style allows the nuance to come through. This is an especially refined edition of the Pajorè. Today, the Pajorè is quite compact and a bit of a bruiser, but there's terrific fruit intensity that just needs time to blossom." Vinous
"Plenty of red fruit with cranberry and watermelon undertones. Fresh flowers, too. Full-bodied with tannins that are back-loaded and give you a punch at the end of the palate. The center-palate has bright flavors of strawberry and orange with hints of flowers. Try after 2025." James Suckling
"Truffle, red berry, rose and sandalwood aromas slowly take shape in the glass. Taut and linear, the palate reveals truffle, dried cherry, orange zest and star anise accompanied by fine-grained, rather drying tannins and fresh acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"This Barbaresco displays breadth, providing the framework for macerated cherry, plum, earth, menthol, licorice and tar flavors. Chewy in the end, with freshness and complexity. Be patient." Wine Spectator
"Here's a beautifully elegant and fine expression of Nebbiolo from Treiso. The Sottimano 2019 Barbaresco Pajoré shows an earthy personality with crushed stone and potting soil that frame a pretty core of red and purple fruits. I love the depth and complexity of this wine and the slightly more structured tannins that give this wine power and importance." Wine Advocate
"From vineyard located in Treiso, with plants of 50-60 years, a Barbaresco of great finesse. Strawberry tree on the nose, with notes of eucalyptus and white pepper, closed by hints of wild mint. Palate with iodine-brackish tannins, fruity and mentholated return." Luca Gardini

“Nardo” Rosso Toscana IGT 2011
Outstanding Nardo 2011: Dark and powerful, yet highly elegant aromas of wild cherries, spices, liquorice, cassis and leather with exceptional balance and purity. A radiant, cosmopolitan Italian. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2011 Nardo presents on the palate with super ripe dark cherries, smoke from rapeseed berries, tobacco, incense and new leather. Dark and lush, the 2011 has stunning textural depth and richness. harvestshould expect a full-bodied, resonant and immensely rich red wine. The Nardois is 50% Montepulciano, 45% Sangiovese and 5% Marsellan, a blend that works particularly well here." VINOUS
"The 2011 Nardo reveals unstoppable ambition. It maintains a level of positive momentum that is almost impossible to find outside that elite group that makes up the great icon wines of the world. Immediately likable and intriguing, Nardo is an ever-fluid and evolving expression that starts with dark fruit and segues to budding tertiary aromas of licorice and crushed mineral. This style is contemporary and approachable, but the wine's complexity is not to be underestimated. Every piece of this moving puzzle works to achieve unity." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of dark berries, walnuts and hot stones lead to a full body with a solid core of fruit and silky tannins. It is firm and very dense, but shows a very dense mid-palate." James Suckling

“Montevertine” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021
Montevertine speaks fluently the authentic Tuscan language of purity and subtle austerity and at the same time is a reference for the generosity and freshness that are so typical of Sangiovese in Radda. On the nose, lots of dark red fruits, some lavender, leather, sweet pipe tobacco, liquorice and earthy notes that develop beautifully with further aeration, offering a taste of what awaits those who can wait. Complex, multi-dimensional with floral notes as it progresses, opening up further and further, with a long finish. A stunning wine that is hardly inferior to the flagship Le Pergole Torte. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2021 Montevertine is a big, potent wine. Dark, rich and explosive, the 2021 has enormous depth, perhaps too much. You have to be patient. The inclusion of new vineyards in the Docciole sector has changed Montevertine; it is now a darker, more virile wine from mostly younger vines, relatively speaking. In the bottle, I find it stylistically somewhat different from the house style." Vinous
"The Montevertine 2021 shows a very taut texture with precise aromas of bluecurrant, orris root and red roses. The wine needs a moment or two to open up, but it manages to show its full bouquet in a short time. On the palate, the Montevertine remains elegant and streamlined." Wine Advocate
"This is precisely structured with racy tannins that are fine, integrated and well formed. It’s medium-bodied, so long and intense. Classic personality. Cool at the finish because of a cool and late growing season. Give it three or four years to soften, but it’s very impressive now." James Suckling

Limitation of 6 articles per customerBarolo “Bricco delle Viole” DOCG 2018
Barolo Bricco delle Viole 2018 is unusually open and seductive, as it is normally rather shy and needs time before it shows the full range of its personality. Rose petals, spices and red-coloured fruits float in the glass, supported by fine, racy tannins. In the drink, then, the typical, medium-heavy characteristics of Bricco delle Viole, at the same time the contours are soft and the wine's personality demands the next sip. Vajra fans should give it a few more years of maturity, despite its current accessibility. SUPERIORE.DE
"Appealing bouquet with nuances of wild berries, mushrooms and herbs; pithy attack with fine-grained tannin, the acidity well integrated, lots of melting and juice. Pleases with its compact style." Vinum
"Bright fruits, raspberries and citrus, floral and spicy notes; substantial type with taut acidity and balanced tannins; the bright and at the same time spicy character is also convincing on the palate, fine and focused, timelessly elegant." Weinwisser
"Bright, radiant ruby red with a lightening rim. Expressive on the nose, of wild berries, elderberries, also floral, then eucalyptus, plus noble spice, of black tea on the final. On the palate compact, juicy, with dense tannin, comes in several layers, energetic, salty in the final." Falstaff
"Just mid ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Concentrated and subtle at the same time with brooding concentration and beautiful depth. Bags of chewy tannins that make their mark on the still-embryonic fruit on the palate. Long, elegant, fresh and still to open up further. Elegant filigree fruit on the finish. Definitely needs more time." Jancis Robinson
"Intense, flavorful Barolo that shows some good, nutty red-fruit character and fine, firm tannin. Medium-bodied and very tight. Needs time to even out." James Suckling
"The 2018 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is finely cut and chiseled, as it so often is. Dried flowers, mint, crushed rocks, pine and red berry fruit all grace this taut, sculpted Barolo. The 2018 has all of the energy of this site, but its signatures are decidedly dialed down." Vinous
"Heady aromas of violet, camphor, leather and tobacco lead the way on this fragrant red. On the palate, tightly knit, fine-grained tannins accompany ripe Marasca cherry, crushed raspberry and licorice. Fresh acidity keeps it balanced." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2018 Barolo Bricco delle Viole is not super intense, but it is balanced in its own way. The wine is subdued but complete with softly yielding tannins to support an elegantly streamlined mouthfeel. Bricco delle Viole is a high and cool growing site in Barolo at 400 to 480 meters in elevation with characteristic Sant'Agata marl soils with fossils. The wine represents a selection of fruit from over seven hectares. With fermentation in steel tank and aging in large Slavonian oak, you are invited to a silky, lifted and beautifully delicate experience with an accessible personality." Wine Advocate
"An elegant version, this red features rose, black currant, cherry, mineral and a hint of eucalyptus aromas and flavors. Linear in profile, this is solidly built on a graceful frame, with finely woven tannins and vibrant acidity." Wine Spectator
"The nervy style of Bricco delle Viole is excited by the lightness of the 2018 vintage. The nose is dominated by leafy lightness and vibrant aromas ranging from cherry kernel to lemon leaf. It could seem to have low complexity but its focused on a sort of austere freshness that's worth discovering. The firm palate with quite aggressive acidity and almost sturdy youth is allied to great fruit concentration. The savoury finish is loaded with dust and chalk." Decanter

“Contrada Zottorinoto” Rosso Riserva Etna DOC 2015
Just around 2,000 bottles of this noble Riserva are filled each year. With an abundance of aromas of black berries, balsamic nuances and spices as well as the expansive taste - full and clear - this great wine brings together finesse, elegance and softness in an excellent way. SUPERIORE.DE
"Cottanera's 2015 Etna Rosso Riserva Zottorinoto offers a beautiful level of purity and sharpness, with plenty of the electric energy and tightness you should expect of a great wine from Etna. This vintage offers some extra ripeness with fruity tones that veer toward plum and black cherry. But those fruit tones are reigned back by the defined mineral backbone of the wine that cedes to campfire ash and scorched earth. The 2015 fruit is a bit looser and thicker altogether. This wine should come together beautifully with a few more years of bottle aging. Only 1,900 bottles were made." Wine Advocate

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2017 (BIO)
The Brunello from Le Chiuse is made from almost 30-year-old vines from an eight-hectare plot of calcareous clay. As soon as you pour the wine, you notice that it is bursting with energy and temperament. This is also noticeable in the crisp fruit, reminiscent of wild berries, cassis and sour cherries. These red fruit flavours are framed by light smoke, tar, potting soil, blue flowers and crushed minerals or limestone. This is an extremely balanced wine that will increase in elegance and finesse with further bottle ageing. SUPERIORE.DE
"Expressive, elegant herbal spice, sage, sandalwood, fine minty style, blueberry, some musk, extremely delicate nose; powerful, fine, noble cocoa note, dense but not fat, clayey texture, very present but not heavy." Meinigers Sommelier
"Mid ruby. Brooding, sweet, perfumed fruit with a savoury hint. Ripe and concentrated with lots of juicy, supple fruit while the grainy tannins give it a complex edge." Jancis Robinson
"Project in strict organic management, spontaneous fermentations, for a wine with a unique character, as well as beautiful cleanliness. Refined nose, touches of red plum, laurel and floral, gardenia, with hints of juniper. The mouthfeel is taut and juicy, the tannins sapid, the finish balsamic." Luca Gardini
"This shows some balance and polish for a 2017, with plenty of integrated and nicely chewy tannins. The ripe-cherry, bark and light dry-earth character comes through clearly. Give it time to soften, but already attractive." James Suckling
"Offers key themes of black cherry, blackberry and violet aromas and flavors, with mineral, tobacco and bitter almond accents. Solidly built, with dense tannins expanding on the finish. Overall, there is a sense of elegance here, with a silkiness and persistence." Wine Spectator
"Wild herbs, crushed pomegranates, dusty rose and savory spice define the wildly exotic 2017 Brunello di Montalcino. Its textures are silky and pliant, but with a vibrant streak of acidity and mineral tones that add a more grippy yet jovial feel, as potent red fruits and lavender tones slowly saturate toward the close. Fine tannins come forward through the medium-length finale, as this tapers off to hints of sour citrus, rose and clove." Vinous
"Lorenzo Magnelli opted to pick early to avoid opulence in 2017. Along with gentler punch-downs and fewer pump-overs, he aged the wine for less time in wood – 30 months rather than 36 – as he felt it didn’t need too much oxygen. Vibrancy of expression is palpable in the tangle of spices, woodland berries, earthy mushroom and forest growth. The palate is sturdy but not aggressive as well-composed tannins sweep across the palate." Decanter
"The Le Chiuse 2017 Brunello di Montalcino (made with certified organic fruit) exhibits a silky and elegant profile that only a handful of estates in the appellation achieve with consistency. This is the desired direction of Brunello as a whole I believe, and it's nice to see these successful results in a difficult, hot vintage such as 2017. The wine is silky and glossy on the palate with wildflowers, berry and forest floor." Wine Advocate
"One of the best wines of the vintage, this stunner opens with compelling aromas of new leather, forest floor, perfumed berry and menthol. Full-bodied and elegantly structured, the delicious palate delivers crushed raspberry, ripe Marasca cherry, baking spice and licorice set against firm, refined tannins. It boasts remarkable freshness and balance for the hot vintage." Wine Enthusiast

“Contrada Sciaranuova Vecchie Vigne” Rosso Etna DOC 2016
Tasca got involved in Etna early on and the latest result of these years of experience are four new single vineyard wines from the Tascante estate: Contrada Rampante, Pianodario, Sciaranuova and Sciaranuova Vigna Vecchia (V.V.). The wines are delicate and profound, and despite their power, acidity and taut tannin, very elegant, finesse-rich and light-footed on the palate. Each of the four plots brings a slightly different style and personality to the wine - due to the altitude, soil composition and morphology of the historic lava flows. A high annual rainfall ensures that the soil has all the water it needs, and the temperature fluctuations between day and night support the aromatic diversity of the grapes and ultimately the ripening potential.
The Sciaranuova parcel is situated at an average altitude of 730 metres above sea level between the villages of Montelaguardia and Passopisciaro. It covers an area of about 4.9 hectares of vineyards. The soils are of volcanic origin and up to 40,000 years old. Within the Sciaranuova parcel is a small cru site whose vines were planted in 1961. The bottles, produced in very small quantities, are labelled "Vigna Vecchia". Compared to its "younger brother", this rare wine shows increased complexity, depth and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Just mid ruby and already a touch developed. Elegant, beautiful even! Pure, sweet raspberry and cherry notes mingling with earth and minerals. Gorgeous fragrant raspberry and firm tannins that push the fruit on the finish. Still austere and in need of more bottle age." Jancis Robinson
"Moderately saturated ruby-red. Very pure aromas and flavors of blood orange, potpourri, red cherry nectar, minerals and sweet spices. Very light on its feet and extremely suave, with outstanding acid-sugar-tannin balance, this is actually less weighty on the palate than the regular Sciaranuova bottling. The finish is very long and pure." Vinous
"This wine is made from Tascante's oldest vines, planted in 1961. The 2016 Etna Rosso Contrada Sciaranuova V.V. (the initials stand for Vigna Vecchia or "old vines") is a beautifully polished and glossy expression with a fine and smooth aromatic presentation. It starts off with primary notes of forest berry and cassis and spans all the way over to campfire ash and camphor. That range is as beautiful as it is impressive. The mouthfeel is silky and soft with fine, powdery tannins. Put this delicate wine aside for a few more years. Some 5,000 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate

“Magari” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2021
Magari is a dark, rich and voluptuous wine that faithfully reflects the signature of Gaja in Bolgheri. On the palate, plump and supple fruit, dark berries and spices mingle with seamless intensity. The wine offers firm grip and long-lasting power on the finish. There is nothing not to love here. SUPERIORE.DE
"Impresses with lush wild berry flavours, surrounded by pepper and herbal notes; powerful on the palate, has perfectly cut tannins, ripe acidity, elegance and plenty of length." Vinum
"Aromas and flavours of tobacco, liquorice and cedar frame the core of blackcurrant and black cherry in this intense, vibrant red. An iron element also emerges, developing through to the lingering finish with fine balance and a lingering aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"Lots of Cabernet Franc character with blackcurrant bush and fresh herbs such as basil and lemongrass. Medium to full body, with firm tannins and a savoury finish. Some undertones of tomato leaf and redcurrant." James Suckling
"The 2021 Magari is the most elegant Magari I can remember tasting. Lively, nuanced and medium-bodied, the 2021 has remarkable energy from start to finish. All the elements are very well balanced. Dark cherry, mocha, dried herbs, liquorice and menthol are all delicately brought out in this expressive Bolgheri red. Fantastic." Vinous
"It brings forth a floral bouquet, showing subtle elegance at the start. Give it a few moments and the wine hits on all cylinders with integrated oak, bright fruit, black cherry, pomegranate seed, iris root and dustings of oak spice that never overshadow the fruit. The wine is refreshingly uncomplicated but shows refined nuance instead. This is the proverbial understated elegance that Gaja achieves so beautifully. It closes with lovely acidity and dusty tannins." Wine Advocate

“Giusto di Notri” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021
The excellent Cabernet-Merlot blend Giusto di Notri is a concentrated wine with an intense, rich flavour. A perfectly balanced bouquet of blackberry, blackcurrant and fine herbal spice. Compact on the palate with a well-tempered balance between fruit and oak, plus a distinctive tannin, promising and powerful in the final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich, deep, dark ruby-purple colour. Present and rich nose, inspiring with notes of blackcurrant, mulberry and blackberry, spicy cedar wood, some grape sugar. Fine-meshed tannin, unfolds continuously, shows full grip, clear, dark berry fruit, firm pressure on the final, good freshness and juiciness." Falstaff
"Black currant, blackberry, plum, violet, green olive, graphite and wild rosemary aromas and flavors are the hallmarks of this impressive red, which is lively and refreshing, with dense tannins gripping the long, oak-tinged finish." Wine Spectator
"Intense aromas of redcurrant, sweet tobacco, lead pencil and terracotta. Medium to full body with polished tannins that are very well integrated into the wine. It is racy and long with lovely mocha and subtle fruit on the finish." James Suckling
"The 2021 Giusto di Notri consists of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. Intensity and depth are beautifully emphasised here. This benefits the complexity and flavours. The vintage also offers more freshness and balanced tannins. This is a beautiful wine that is designed for long cellaring." Wine Advocate
