“Sergio Zingarelli” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2016
The estate's top wine, named after the owner, is the result of many years of work in the vineyard and dates back to the year 2000, when the winery began to replant many of its own plots with Sangiovese. To this day, Sergio Zingarelli pursues the goal of interpreting his existing terroir as authentically as possible. The result is the highest classification Gran Selezione, which is confirmed every year by the consortium and is only awarded to the best wines in the appellation.
Rich ruby colour. Concentrated nose of herbs, black cherry, chocolate, earthy notes and oak spice. Juicy and soft fruit on the palate, refined tannins, glides dynamically and spicy into a respectable finish. SUPERIORE.DE"Dark, elegantly shining ruby colour. Opens on the nose on notes of black tea, incense, sage, then a little fumé, ripe cherry, wild berries. Dense, taut, very full-bodied on the palate, opens with many layers and tightly woven tannins, warm and clear fruit, with a lot of pressure on the finish." Falstaff
"Closed nose, needs air and/or time. Fragrant, clear floral nose, violets, menthol. Ripe fruit on the palate, cherry, strawberry, a little cocoa powder. Delicate, yet powerful, clearly structured. Offers great pleasure now, is fun, but has the substance for further maturation. Finishes long." Vinum
"Vibrant cherry, plum and chocolate flavours are balanced by loamy earth, sage and sanguine notes in this tasty red, which has considerable depth and intensity, though it is restrained and closed at this stage." Wine Spectator
"The Rocca delle Macìe 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Sergio Zingarelli is the top wine in this winery's portfolio. A dark and beautifully concentrated expression that shows lots of dark fruit and plums." Wine Advocate
"Beautiful sweet fruit with plums and cherries as well as some walnut and smoky character. Fine, polished tannins. It's medium to full-bodied with firm, creamy tannins and a fruity finish. Delicious now, but will improve with age." James Suckling

“Kairós” Rosso Veneto IGT 2019
Kairós is the "little Harlequin" in terms of grape variety composition and is always produced in the years when its big brother is not in production. This is really not a flaw, because with its comparatively attractive price and above all its crazy blend of four white and 12 red grape varieties, it is an incredibly fleshy and juicy wine with an impenetrable, dark appearance. The bouquet is equally charged, almost voltaic, with rich layers of dark fruit that remain surprisingly airy and fresh despite the considerable weight and concentration. This is a wine of extremes, but there is no doubting its mad drinking pleasure and the harmony it offers to the senses. However, you need to be in the right mood, because only then does the eclectic Kairós blend offer an intoxicating and incomparable experience with guaranteed memorable value. SUPERIORE.DE
"There's plenty to savour on the nose, from baked cherries and red berries to graphite and pressed flowers. Medium-bodied with the same broad spectrum of complex flavours, tamed a little at the moment by firm, clean tannins. An interesting blend of 16 indigenous and international grape varieties, 12 red and four white. It's still approachable now, but will develop into something very special after another year or two in the bottle." James Suckling

“Rivarossa” Rosso Venezia Giulia IGT 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
Deep ruby red. Bright, fresh and savoury aromas and flavours of blueberries, flint, coffee and fresh herbs. Long and clean with soft tannins and very good clarity on the bright end. A beautiful, very refined wine with early appeal but also velvet paws creeping concentration and complexity. SUPERIORE.DE
"A delicate blend of smoky sage, wild blueberries, cracked chalk and dried violets makes the 2018 Rivarossa a total pleasure to take in. This is silky and cool-toned with a balanced inner sweetness that offsets its tart wild berry fruits as peppery herbal tones amass toward the close. The Rivarossa tapers off structured with edgy tannins that pinch at the cheeks as a note of black licorice lingers on and on. A lot is going on beneath the surface here, but it will be several years before the 2018 comes entirely into focus." Vinous
"Lovely blackberries, violets and blueberries with hints of dark chocolate. Medium to full body with creamy, polished tannins and a flavourful finish." James Suckling

Chianti Classico Terrazze di San Leolino Gran Selezione DOCG 2020 (BIO)
The years of the COVID-19 pandemic were particularly fruitful for Giovanni Manetti, you could call them an epiphany. He had time to reflect and walked through his vineyards in the Conca d'Oro in Panzano in Chianti, an amphitheatre of postcard-perfect vines, and decided it was time to expand his portfolio. In particular, he was looking for a way to better articulate the concept of Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, which is essentially a perfect vehicle for a grand cru winemaking philosophy. His existing Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo is a flagship for this highest category of appellation, but unfortunately it only represents a single vineyard site. The fruit comes from an area with a higher proportion of schistose galestro for dark fruit, etched mineral notes and pencil shavings. Now this wine can be seen in context.
This is how the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Terrazze San Leolino was created. It comes from a vineyard in Panzano, not too far from Vigna del Sorbo. However, this small parcel near the San Leolino chapel is characterised by calcareous Alberese, which produces fresh wines with a less dark character. SUPERIORE.DE
"New Gran Selezione from the Manetti family, the vineyards are located below the Pieve di San Leolino above the Conca d'Oro of Panzano: Seductive forest berry nose, topped with herbal and chocolate notes; full of melting and juiciness, the acidity lively, the tannins powdery, long finish on beautiful spicy and forest berry notes." Vinum
"Brilliant dark ruby red colour. Hearty on the nose, fine black tea notes, ripe cherry fruit, with some dark chocolate, hazelnut, rich spice on the finish, earthy. Juicy on the palate, with tightly woven, salty tannins, very tightly woven, shows beautiful freshness and elegance despite its 15%, long, pure, as if from a block." Falstaff
"The Fontodi 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Terrazze San Leonlino is a new addition to this exciting portfolio, now in its second vintage. With fruit from the upper part of the Conca d'Oro of Panzano, this wine shows a robust and powerful personality with a strong alcohol content of 15%. The bouquet is rich in cherry liqueur, blackberry cherry and dried plums. The fruit is stronger and you can taste the ripeness of the grape skins. The wine has an almost carbonated quality that reminds me of cherry cola, and it finishes with a sweet note and soft tannins. Only 5,000 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate
"Flavours of ripe cherries, bark, damp earth and spices follow through to a full body with soft and velvety tannins supported by a juicy acidity that gives the wine complexity and focus." James Suckling
"Deep in colour, this luscious red shows both power and finesse, packed with aromas of blackberries, blackcurrants, violets, iron and spices. Expressive and beautifully balanced, but ready for a long development thanks to its solid structure. It shows great finesse and finishes with a long aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"A pure Sangiovese gem from a vineyard of the same name, a wine of impeccable tension and drinkability. The aroma has notes of red mulberry, wild iris and sage. On the palate savory, with a return of small red fruits, floral nuances and a magnetic drink." Luca Gardini

“Contrada Sciaranuova Vecchie Vigne” Rosso Etna DOC 2016
Tasca got involved in Etna early on and the latest result of these years of experience are four new single vineyard wines from the Tascante estate: Contrada Rampante, Pianodario, Sciaranuova and Sciaranuova Vigna Vecchia (V.V.). The wines are delicate and profound, and despite their power, acidity and taut tannin, very elegant, finesse-rich and light-footed on the palate. Each of the four plots brings a slightly different style and personality to the wine - due to the altitude, soil composition and morphology of the historic lava flows. A high annual rainfall ensures that the soil has all the water it needs, and the temperature fluctuations between day and night support the aromatic diversity of the grapes and ultimately the ripening potential.
The Sciaranuova parcel is situated at an average altitude of 730 metres above sea level between the villages of Montelaguardia and Passopisciaro. It covers an area of about 4.9 hectares of vineyards. The soils are of volcanic origin and up to 40,000 years old. Within the Sciaranuova parcel is a small cru site whose vines were planted in 1961. The bottles, produced in very small quantities, are labelled "Vigna Vecchia". Compared to its "younger brother", this rare wine shows increased complexity, depth and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Just mid ruby and already a touch developed. Elegant, beautiful even! Pure, sweet raspberry and cherry notes mingling with earth and minerals. Gorgeous fragrant raspberry and firm tannins that push the fruit on the finish. Still austere and in need of more bottle age." Jancis Robinson
"Moderately saturated ruby-red. Very pure aromas and flavors of blood orange, potpourri, red cherry nectar, minerals and sweet spices. Very light on its feet and extremely suave, with outstanding acid-sugar-tannin balance, this is actually less weighty on the palate than the regular Sciaranuova bottling. The finish is very long and pure." Vinous
"This wine is made from Tascante's oldest vines, planted in 1961. The 2016 Etna Rosso Contrada Sciaranuova V.V. (the initials stand for Vigna Vecchia or "old vines") is a beautifully polished and glossy expression with a fine and smooth aromatic presentation. It starts off with primary notes of forest berry and cassis and spans all the way over to campfire ash and camphor. That range is as beautiful as it is impressive. The mouthfeel is silky and soft with fine, powdery tannins. Put this delicate wine aside for a few more years. Some 5,000 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate

Barolo Bussia DOCG 2018
The Barolo Bussia DOCG comes from the vineyard of the same name in the shape of an amphitheatre in the Bussia Monforte d'Alba area. This historic wine was first made by Prunotto in 1961 as a single-vineyard wine. The balance and complexity of the Nebbiolo grapes are enhanced by the different south to south-west exposures of the vineyard and the traditional ageing in large barrels.
A great wine that combines the power of Barolo with the finesse of the Monforte terroir. A radiant ruby red with garnet reflections, the bouquet is intensely fruity with small red berries and a delicate hint of vanilla. The juicy, harmonious taste is full of character and continues well into the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Light red; complex, spicy, truffle, fruity; very round attack, fine, then depth and fine tannin, nice length, pleases very much." (JLF) Merum
"Scarcely medium ruby red. A little leafy with hints of garden herbs, but otherwise quite closed on the nose. Fresh, juicy cherry fruit on the palate with a layer of sandy tannins that play up a bit on the finish. While the tannins are quite demanding at the moment, the juicy fruit lingers on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"Fragrant, with aromas of flowers, berries, cherries, cut hay and eucalyptus, underpinned by an open profile. Firms up but remains compact and lean overall. Shows fine balance and length." Wine Spectator
"So perfumed and beautiful on the nose with juice, roses and plums, followed by a medium body with very fine tannins and a long creamy finish. Delicious to drink now, but it will get even better with age." James Suckling
"The 2018 Barolo Bussia is smooth, elegant and silky. Crushed. Flowers, spices, mint, cinnamon, sweet red cherries and aniseed meld together beautifully in the glass. The 2018 is light on its feet and has tremendous depth, it has so much to offer. Sweet floral notes lift the finish beautifully." Vinous
"Prunotto is one of the most classic names of Barolo and Bussia. Today, under the direction of Antinori, the winemaking is more precise and somewhat more modern in style. The nose is dominated by dried cherry, complemented by a rhubarb note combined with sweet cinnamon spice. The acidity carries the fruit across the palate, with velvety, light and super-ripe tannins that give the wine a particularly graceful style for a Bussia." Decanter

Barolo Ginestra “Pajana” DOCG 2018
Pajana - most modern wine of the entire Clerico range - presents itself closed, compressed and with great potential. Rich ruby with a light garnet rim. Compact nose, shows rich notes of blackberry, dark cherries, a little cinchona bark in the background. Explodes literally on the palate, lots of ripe, present fruit, then opens up with lots of fine-meshed tannin, salty depth, rich pressure. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling garnet red with ruby reflections. In the nose after pickled plums and pomegranate, in the reverberation forest strawberry, saffron and forest floor. On the palate tight and grippy tannin, deep and complex, well balanced, harmonious and elegant, final with rich fruit." Falstaff
"Clear, polished, fresh and quite tightly knit nose of mixed berries with a hint of cherries, floral nuances, slightly fleshy hints, nutty and very fine buttery aromas, Mediterranean herbs as well as some pepper and tar. Ripe, juicy, again polished and amazingly fresh fruit, moderate, delicately cocoa and coffee spicy, also a hint of smoky wood spice, fine, present, youthful tannin, persistent on the palate, good depth, a hint of liquorice, peppery ethereal traces, still undeveloped, increasingly mineral in the background, very good, firm, juicy and spicy finish. May mature." Wein-Plus
"Mid ruby with the beginning of orange tinges. Still youthful with leafy cherry notes and oak hints. With aeration minerally and earthy notes showing through. Supple fresh cherry and raspberry fruit with touches of oak and lots of powdery tannins gaining in weight on the finish. Very long and tannic and with great lift of fresh fruit." Jancis Robinson
"Rich, raspberry-coulis nose, adding mineral and bark aromas with air. But it all remains very contained. Medium-bodied palate with very fine, firm tannins and a tight finish. Super-clean with a very tight core for now. Give it time to expand. Try from 2024." James Suckling
"It's more approachable and less austere than usual but juicy, tasty and savoury - almost salty on the palate with intoxicating flavours of fruit and flower. Despite the graceful attack, the wine is then supported by a firm structure with slightly dusty tannins. Crisp acidity carries a camphor note to the persistent finish." Decanter
"The 2018 Barolo Ginestra Pajana shows a savory character with some delicate spice and smoke that is carefully folded into dark fruit, plum and earthy flower or iris root. Fruit comes from a site in the Ginestra MGA that was planted in 1971 with additional vines added in 1991. The wine shows excellent complexity and balanced intensity that is well-suited to long cellar aging." Wine Advocate

Barbaresco Albesani DOCG 2020
"From the very first moments of fermentation of this wine, we realise every year that we are dealing with a very high expression of Nebbiolo. The MGA Albesani is a very beautiful vineyard in the municipality of Neive with ideal exposure and perfect altitude. From there comes a rich, elegant, sometimes austere wine that combines its great appeal with excellent ageing potential." Franco Massolino
Barbaresco Albesani shows all the breadth and resonance so typical of this famous hillside vineyard in Neive. Red-purple fruits, spices, rose petals, lavender, menthol and liquorice develop with a little time in the glass. Bright acids and lively tannins give this classic, inviting Barbaresco from Massolino plenty of energy and stamina. SUPERIORE.DE
"Freshly mown hay and green tea accents frame cherry, strawberry and white pepper flavors in this sleek yet dense red. Overall, this remains balanced and elegant, with a beam of fruit persisting on the aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"Exciting and racy red fruits with dried herbs and hibiscus with undertones of nutshells. Clean and lively on the palate with medium body and compact, ripe tannins that give the wine a firm and long mouthfeel. Velvety finish. Attractive already, but even better from 2025." James Suckling
"The Massolino 2020 Barbaresco Albesani from the village of Neive shows more balance at this young age than the winery's classic Barbaresco. This single-vineyard wine also has more depth with nuances of dark berries, cassis, blue flowers and crushed limestone. The floral aromas emerge with beautiful intensity. The wine's tannins are very fine and silky." Wine Advocate
"The Barbaresco Albesani 2020 has more substance and depth than the pure Barbaresco. The differences between the two wines are not so pronounced at first, but that comes with aeration. With time, macerated cherries, plums, spices, lavender, rose petals and sage develop in the glass. All the richness and power of the Albesani come out. For harvestwho want to understand what makes Albesani tick, this is the wine for you!" Vinous
"Very restrained on the nose, with smoky forest notes, preserved flowers and chocolate, wrapped in a fresh, elegant currant fruit. Very tasty on the palate, with fresh acidity and velvety, chewy, youthful tannins that are very precise and woven into the finish. Given its firm structure, this is not an easy wine to drink now, but it shows a quality in terms of texture and liquorice length that will keep it interesting for a long time." Decanter

Chianti Classico Riserva Castello di Volpaia is a dark, powerful wine. Black cherry, smoke, liquorice, incense, mocha, menthol, lavender and leather give this virile, brooding Riserva plenty of character. The palate is very aromatic with sweet red cherries, cedar wood and nuances of blood orange, yet very powerful and multi-layered with terrific depth and structure. A dream for Sangiovese lovers. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant ruby red colour with delicate rim brightening. Magnificent, complex nose, lots of small red berries, raspberry and wild strawberry, violets, subtly leathery. Elegant and very juicy on the palate, beautiful tension to peppery-spicy notes, ripe cherry fruit, vibrant acidity on the finish, powerful tannins in the background." Falstaff
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva is terrific. Macerated dark cherry, spice, leather, tobacco, dried flowers and underbrush are some of the many notes that grace this super-expressive Riserva. The 2020 is a touch somber, but that only adds to its considerable allure." Vinous
"In the bottle with the black label, the organic 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva offers ripe fruit with measured intensity that never feels heavy or overdone. Achieving this level of balance is not easy in a hot growing season such as this. This wine is characterized by an especially linear and direct personality that pushes it over the palate with good momentum." Wine Advocate
"Attractive aromas of ripe cherries, dried strawberries, dried orange peel, spices and crushed stones, following through to a medium to full body with compact tannins that are firm and finely grained. Smooth and textured with vivid fruit underneath and a lingering finish." James Suckling

“Orma” Toscana Rosso IGT 2021 (BIO)
Deep ruby red, intense, fresh aroma of dark fruit with delicate roasted flavours. Complex and full-bodied on the palate, full-bodied, with balsamic notes, perfectly integrated tannins and a finely balanced fruity-spicy finish. An intense wine that doesn't want to be a lightweight and which shows off its power perfectly. SUPERIORE.DE
"In colour, the 2021 appears less dark and viscous than usual. The nose is deep and spicy, with a chocolaty richness, a lot of Merlot presence and aromas of bay leaf, rosemary and incense, as well as banana peel. Very youthful, reductive and full-bodied, very dense in the mouth, with seemingly blunt tannins, firmly fleshed out. The all-encompassing sweetness masks the subtle brittleness in its youth. Wiry acidity, a lot of tannin presence, plenty of wood and very little melting." Weinwisser
"Brilliant and impenetrable purple colour. Lifted, vibrant cassis, blackberry and blueberry flavours with a hint of dusty oak. Juicy and finely moulded around the cassis and blackberry fruit, with gripping tannins that need more time to settle. The whole clearly expresses the excellence of this vintage." Jancis Robinson
"The Orma 2021 is a rich, heady wine. Juicy dark red plums, spice, new leather, mocha and menthol are beautifully interwoven. This lush, flamboyant wine offers a lot of immediacy and appeal." Vinous
"This wine is heady and voluptuous with a bouquet that brings out black fruits, plums, spices and floral notes of lilac and blue flowers. These flavours are released in waves of varying intensity. It is a proverbial food wine that calls for a dish with a high fat content. The freshness is there and it has a considerable fruit weight". Wine Advocate
"This red is broad and dense yet lively, with flavours of plum, blackberry, vanilla and chocolate shaded by toasted oak. A hint of rose lingers fresh and focused on the long, gripping finish. Balanced and complex." Wine Spectator
"Aromas of herbs such as basil and laurel with blackcurrants are followed by a full body with creamy and round tannins and many undertones of coffee beans and walnuts. Powerful, but not over the top. Velvety texture. Fine on the finish." James Suckling
"Spicy, brambly berry aromas with some dusty wood and chocolate notes are followed in the mouth by super-fresh acidity, introducing some ripe black fruits then a stony mid-palate. A fine web of silky tannins supports the fruit, while herbal and balsamic edges bring a sense of freshness and levity to the concentrated fruit. The finish is long, succulent and fresh, with some fresh and dried black fruits accompanied by spice and chocolate. Great balance." Decanter
"Bright ruby violet colour. Fragrant, floral, of wild berries and light-coloured resin, cassis, expressive, pure, inviting. Powerful on the palate, with lots of tannin, vibrant, finely juicy, currently still very young, will develop very well." Falstaff
"The great classic of the house, now a staple of the type. Blueberry notes on the nose, a hint of marjoram, cloves on the finish with a slight hint of undergrowth. Crisp and exciting on the palate, with salty-sour tannins, persistent and again with small black fruits." Luca Gardini

Deep dark ruby-purple colour. On the nose, cassis, blackcurrants and a strong herbal spice with a good dose of pipe tobacco, tar and crushed gravel. On the palate, dark berries, chocolate and a cornucopia of herbs define the full-bodied palate. This juicy wine monument has precisely integrated tannins, an enormous silkiness and an almost endless finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dark, intense colour. Rich, sweet and chocolaty, the Oreno smells of rum pot and shows a beautiful fullness, yet the wood shines through a little, as the core flavour is still underdeveloped. Sweet, broad and compact, it appears in the mouth with a lot of substance and core, with an equally concentrated centre. The powerful tannins are arranged in a straightforward manner, accompanied by a fine woody shimmer and good texture." Weinwisser
"A juicy red characterised by blueberries, boysenberries, cassis, wild herbs and oak spices. It shows a range of dusty tannins that have a firm grip on the compact finish, but it has freshness, plenty of fruit and persistence." Wine Spectator
"Fruity, floral aromas of dried cherries, raspberries and violets on the nose segue into spicy notes of pencil shavings and hot tar, before more mixed berries overlay spicy, earthy notes on the palate, with a hint of orange pith providing astringency on the long, umami-rich finish." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2021 Oreno richly concentrated aromas to match. You get black fruit, toasted barbecue spice, mahogany and smoke. There are pronounced herbal notes with grilled sage and rosemary. This wine definitely embraces a full-bodied, old-school style that is heavily influenced by Bordeaux." Wine Advocate
"The 2021 Oreno is great. In fact, the 2021 is one of the best Orenos I can remember tasting. Aromatic, rich and deep, with tonnes of textural resonance, the 2021 has so much to offer. Scents of tobacco, espresso, spice, new leather and spice open up first, leading to waves of dark, resonant fruit that build over time. Impressive. This is a particularly heady, flamboyant Tuscan red wine. A style that works very well in 2021." Vinous
"Dark blackberry fruit and intense floral and spicy aromas, liquorice and olives with nuances of blueberries and roses. The tannins are grippy but give direction rather than being heavy or broad. On the palate, it remains quite straightforward, persistently in line from start to finish. I love the juiciness, the strawberry juice with herbal accents and clean, ferruginous minerality that comes across as slightly tangy and savoury on the finish, lingering with a zesty olive note." Decanter
"Bright ruby violet colour. Opens with an elegant nose, notes of elderberries, chocolate, stewed blackberries, some liquorice. Present on the palate, with nerve, grippy but very energetic, clean tannins, full-bodied, long, juicy finish lasting many minutes." Falstaff
"Blackcurrants and black cherries with beautiful flowers on the nose. Medium-bodied with ultra-fine tannins that give the wine focus and tension. Pretty and balanced. A little shy now." James Suckling
"Unique location, south-facing vineyards in the river basin of the same name. Taut nose, blackberry, eucalyptus, pink pepper and capers, peony and balsamic finish. Dense on the palate, crisp, spicy tannins, fresh citrus flavours with a long, drinkable finish." Luca Gardini

“Terre Alte” Bianco Rosazzo DOCG 2021
Terre Alte Rosazzo is made from Tocai Friulano, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Bianco. It is a spice bomb that seduces with a beguiling blend of flint, dried flowers and ginger, balanced by vividly ripe nectarines. Terre Alte washes over the palate with an opulent, textured wave of mineral fruits and savoury spices, while taking on a citrus-derived tension towards the finish. The finish is long and floral, with tart fruit and wild herbs complemented by a hint of lemon custard. The balance, but also the depth of its character and personality are almost unreal - a beguiling, very great Italian white wine! SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow with green-gold reflections. Very fresh nose of fresh hay, green apple and gooseberry, then hints of exotic fruit. Silky and broad on the palate with juicy fruit of peach and pineapple, very juicy, balanced and long on the finish." Falstaff

Le Cupole offers excellent value every year. You get a glass full of sunny Tuscany and rich intensity at an affordable price. The wine is packed with black fruits, spices and leather, resulting in a classic bouquet, especially for a warm corner of Tuscany, off the beaten track, in Sarteano. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, dark ruby colour with a fine rim. Intense and elegant on the nose, ripe cherries, cedar wood, leather and cloves on the finish. The palate reveals savoury, sweet fruit, velvety tannins, fresh and juicy with a lingering finish." Falstaff
"This blend of 57% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Franc, 11% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot has gorgeous dark berry aromas with pretty floral overtones. In the mouth it's focussed and vertical, with crunchy red and black berries and a balsamic overtone, finishing with plenty of spice and a long, bright line of acidity." Decanter
"A fresh and vivid young Tuscan red with currant and mineral aromas that follow through to a medium to full body with crunchy tannins and a vivid finish. Creamy texture. A little tight at the end. Second wine of Trinoro. Give it time to open. Best after 2026." James Suckling

“Novecento 30 anni” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
The anniversary edition of the Novecento opens on the nose with layers of dark fruits, spices, tar and smoke. Then on the palate, there is terrific depth and hints of earth or crushed black rock. Novecento offers a great texture that is velvety and rich without ever seeming heavy or sluggish. Long and crisp on the spicy finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Ripe nose with aromas of maraschino, herbs and leather; the tannins robust, showing character and length, solid finish. Pair with a T-bone steak." Vinum
"The organic Dievole 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Novecento opens slowly and is neutral on the first nose. It eventually shows some dark fruits and wild cherries that blend nicely with spices, leather and tar. The wine has a warm and spicy quality with autumn leaves and forest floor. The blend is 95% Sangiovese, 3% Canaiolo and 2% Colorino. This release celebrates the 30th vintage of this wine." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 vintage was one of the most balanced in recent years in Chianti Classico. Here, as Antonini confessed, there is no intention to make an accessible wine. The colour glows ruby red, the nose is intensely fresh, floral and slightly reductive at first before an orange tone rises from the depths, overlaying black cherries and creamy strawberries. The attack is firm, crisp and rich in extract. Powerful acidity supports the youthful expression of the cherry fruit with sufficient concentration and a dense finish. Quite austere for 2019, but amazing considering how well it can age." Decanter
"A tight, tannic version, this red has a strong grip on its currant, cherry and strawberry fruit. Revealing mineral and tar details, this remains succulent and breezy through the lingering aftertaste; just needs to absorb the tannins." Wine Spectator
"This wine is very aromatic, with notes of strawberries and cherries and hints of orange peel and flowers. Medium body with very fine tannins that are integrated and polished. Bright acidity on the finish. Made from a blend of plots from Dievole's highest vineyards. Lovely to drink now, but it will also age." James Suckling

“Rovittello” Rosso Riserva Etna DOC 2016
After almost thirty years of experience in the vinification of the famous Etna Rosso "Rovittello", the Benanti family decided in 2015 to extend the vinification, ageing and refinement of the wine to 60 months. The result is an exclusive Riserva, produced in small growthfrom vines more than 100 years old in plot no. 341, which is rightly considered one of the best reds in the region. The Nerello grapes (85% Mascalese/15% Cappuccio) come from a terraced vineyard (pre-phylloxera) in the Contrada Dafara Galluzzo in the upper area of Rovittello, part of the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia.
Pale ruby with light garnet tones. Fine, ethereal, floral, intense, spicy, delicate bouquet with hints of ripe fruit, young tanned leather and cedar. Firm, powerful on the palate, opening up only gradually and then revealing bit by bit its depth and secrets, marked by impressive weightlessness and elegance. An extremely harmonious red with meditation potential - mineral and of remarkable persistence! SUPERIORE.DE
"Ruby red with garnet reflections. Nose with notes of small red fruits, currants, cherries, nectarines and slightly wilted red flowers, mineral final. Mineral and taut on the palate, leaving a pleasant fruity trail. Pleasant to drink." Falstaff
"Aromas of redcurrants, berries, soy, spice and ash follow through to a full body with round and polished tannins that are beautifully crafted and poised. Very fine-grained, silky texture. Persistent and beautiful." James Suckling

Barolo DOCG 2019 · MAGNUM
"Our Barolo (Classico) has been a successful synthesis of the various characteristics of the Massolino vineyards for over 70 years. Thanks to traditional ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels, we maintain its pure and unadulterated identity and its complex flavours." Franco Massolino
Traditionally vinified Barolo from the estate's best vineyards. Deep garnet red colour. Complex, spicy bouquet of liquorice, tobacco, dried flowers, violets and damp leaves. Very emphatic, firm and full-bodied on the palate. Its racy and forward style is still flanked by noticeable, rough tannins. Finishes with a fine sweetness, elegant and long. The already undisputed high level will continue to develop in full beauty over the next few years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Light ruby red in colour. A subtle, lifted aroma of cherries and cranberries dabbed with spicy oak notes and a hint of orange peel. Juicy, lively cherry fruit on the palate with a long, grippy tannin finish. Fresh, long and elegant." Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Barolo is a very serious wine. harvestlooking for an uncomplicated, entry-level Barolo will not find it here. Bright and crackling with tannin, the 2019 will need at least a couple of years to fully develop. Crushed rocks, red/purple fruits and dried flowers emerge with some coaxing, but this is truly a wine for the cellar." Vinous
"This red straddles the line between power and elegance, featuring delicate flavors of strawberry, cherry and rose hip, plus notes of earth, tar and iron. Finishes with more power and the grip of refined tannins, offering terrific balance and length." Wine Spectator
"Lots of lavender, raspberry and orange blossom flavours follow through to a medium body with fine tannins and a polished finish. Beautiful drive and balance. Clear and fine." James Suckling
"On the pale, cream-coloured label, Barolo 2019 is elegant and understated, with a very concentrated and linear style that makes a big impression and awakens the senses. There is wild cherry, blue flower and crushed stones supported by balanced freshness and tannins." Wine Advocate

Barolo Ginestra “Vigna del Gris” DOCG 2019
The grapes for the exceptionally deep Vigna del Gris come from vines over 40 years old from the 1-hectare plot of the same name in Monforte d'Alba. The bouquet is beguilingly harmonious, with a convincing attack, weightless and powerful at the same time. Firm tannins and plenty of flavour on the palate, with a great texture and very juicy. Long, rich finish. Don't make the mistake of opening this wine until it has gained in maturity, personality and elegance after a few more years in the bottle. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Barolo Ginestra Vigna del Gris is another great wine from Conterno-Fantino. Crushed flowers, cedar wood, pipe tobacco, mint, dried flowers and worn leather give the 2019 an impressive aromatic presence. Fabio Conterno has also managed to tame the tannins of the Monforte here. The Gris is really impressive. I would drink it before the other 2019s." Vinous
"Offers attractive notes of cherry and raspberry as well as flavours of iron, tar and undergrowth, wrapped in an embrace of toasted oak. Overall, this red wine is balanced, and the fruit should develop over the next decade as all the elements integrate. Long, resonant finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Barolo Ginestra Vigna del Gris is very robust and powerful on the nose. It needs more time in the bottle to develop and overcome its youthful phase. This wine is definitely ready to give more to those who wait. It opens with a dark garnet colour and ripe aromas of cherries, plums, roses and orange peel. After a few minutes, additional spices and nutmeg emerge. The tannins are still grippy." Wine Advocate
"Notes of red berries, crushed herbs and orange blossom with hints of lilac and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied. Fleshy and mouth-filling with polished tannins. Refined and supple. A hint of slightly bitter spices on the finish." James Suckling

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Here comes the second vintage of Barbara Widmer's Chianti Classico Gran Selezione. It is vinified from the estate's best Sangiovese grapes, all of which come from clay soils at an altitude of around 200 metres. Complex and very aromatic bouquet with notes of red fruit, herbs, leather and liquorice, rounded off with a fine toasted note. Multi-layered and radiant on the palate, yet never opulent or broad, the well-balanced tannins guide it into a deep and refined finish. Even at a young age, Brancaia's Gran Selezione combines the unmistakably aristocratic style of a pure Sangiovese with impressive elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"As so often, scores with a fine balance of fruit and appropriate use of wood and shows a compact core, vitality and a fine acidity; then goes on for a long time with red berry fruit and mineral spice." Weinwisser
"Sparkling ruby red colour, slight edge brightening. Complex on the nose, sour cherry, cigar box, subtle ethereal notes, reminiscent of eucalyptus. Elegant, prancing on the palate, vibrant acidity, silky tannins, lots of herbs towards the end, lingering finish." Falstaff
"This is another impressive organic wine from the talented winemaking team at Brancaia and owner Barbara Widmer. The 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is rich and endowed with dark cherry, spice, clove and grilled herbs. This vintage is a real pleasure to drink straight away." Wine Advocate
"Captivating bouquet of berries and lilac, casually accompanied by spicy notes; the attack is pithy, the lively acidity and excellent tannins well balanced, the finish long on notes of fresh currants and lots of suppleness. Can still mature." Vinum
"Notes of ripe cherries and redcurrants with savoury herbs, ground spices and crushed stones. Full and structured with dense and compact tannins that are ripe and well integrated into the wine. Refreshed by a consistent acidity that gives it crispness and emphasises the red fruits. I like the texture and length of the wine." James Suckling

Barolo Castelletto “Vigna Pressenda” DOCG 2019
The sandy soils north of Monforte d'Alba give this Barolo its immense power and structure. The bouquet is very open and appealing with dark cherries and raspberries, as well as notes of mint, cedar wood, rose petals and sage. Very lively and expressive on the palate, with deep beauty, seamlessly contoured and spectacular resonance. A fabulous wine from a very good vintage, classic and exotic at the same time. SUPERIORE.DE
"Intriguing bouquet with notes of cherries, leather, with a touch of sage flavours; juicy, harmonious texture with finely chiselled tannins, finishes long and multi-layered. Pleasing with its elegant style and character." Vinum
"Presents cherry, raspberry, sun-kissed hay, mineral and spice aromas and flavors that curl around an acidic spine and tannins. This has all the right components, matched to a slim, taut frame, with fine length." Wine Spectator
"Fresh and vibrant with red berry, blood orange, crushed hazelnut, hibiscus and spice aromas and flavors. Medium- to full-bodied, tense and linear with a backbone of firm, finely grained tannins and steady minerality. Needs some time. Try after 2027." James Suckling
"The Conterno Fantino 2019 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda is medium dark and more concentrated compared to many of its peers. This wine shows a solid bouquet with fixed aromas of wild cherry, long-stemmed rose and candied orange. With time, even more floral aromas are coaxed forward from the bouquet. Beyond those are oak-driven notes of allspice and cinnamon. The tannins are polished, and the wine offers quite a bit of fruit texture." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda is gorgeous. Delicate and perfumed in the glass, the 2019 offers up a beguiling mélange of dark red cherry, rose petal, mint, cedar, blood orange, spice and crushed autumn leaves. In 2019, the Monforte tannins are especially refined, something that is very rarely the case here at this stage. What a wonderfully precise, sophisticated, nuanced wine this is. Impressive." Vinous

“Renaissance” Pinot Nero Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2019
Bright, medium ruby colour with a brightening rim. Pinot Nero Renaissance Riserva opens smoky in the glass, with fine aromas of wild strawberries, blackberries and sage. On the palate, it soothes with its soft textures, which are enriched by salty, mineral tones and tart wild berry fruits. Very polished tannins, complex and multi-layered with further aeration, yet highly aristocratic. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, medium-dense ruby colour with a light rim. Opens with smoky, spicy components, then lots of raspberry, some pomegranate, exciting. Spreads out on the palate with lots of juicy fruit, raspberry and sour cherries, fine-meshed, dense ruby, spreads out for a long time, good tension." Falstaff
"The 2019 Riserva Pinot Noir Renaissance is extremely bright and focused, with a beautiful bouquet that shows elements of roses, wild berries, blood orange, crushed slate, smoke and camphor ash. The flavours are outstanding and the wine continues on the palate with medium intensity. Only 3,000 bottles were produced." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 Pinot Noir Riserva Renaissance is decidedly savoury, with a spicy blend of dried cherries accented by ground ginger, cloves and grilled herbs. It glides effortlessly across the palate, silky and round, with lively acidity and mineral tones giving way to tart red and black fruits. The finish is medium-long and slightly tannic. A hint of sour citrus gradually fades." Vinous

Limitation of 3 articles per customer“I Sodi di San Niccolò" Toscana IGT 2018
The wine icon, rare every year and very highly rated, presents itself in a shiny, rich ruby. On the nose, crisp berry fruit, ripe dark cherries, sweet plums and delicate notes of cinnamon. In the mouth it is full-bodied and firm, very juicy, unfolds a finely woven tannin and glides in a wide arc into a powerful, long final. A great wine full of tension and elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Dense, sweet and with great seductiveness, it smells out of the glass with lots of chocolate and nutty aromas. Fine-grained and clearly structured on the palate, it has excellent breed with playful acidity, which in turn gives it depth and length. Impressively typical I Sodi, which has never lost its traditional character. Even though it was one of the more modern top wines from Tuscany in the 90s because of its ageing in barriques, today it has to be classified rather with the classics." Weinwisser
"Rich, sparkling ruby with a slightly pale rim. Opens clear and deep on the nose, with plums and blackberries, discreet smoky notes, some cardamom. Firm and sturdy on the palate, shows lots of tightly woven tannin, builds up firm pressure, lots of plum, long final." Falstaff
"This is marked by new oak initially, then the plum and cherry flavors shine through. Vibrant, with leather and earth elements joining in before the oak spice and tannins frame the finish. Fresh and complex, with a lot going on—just needs time." Wine Spectator
"Bright and vibrant, the trademark lively and vibrant acidity at the fore straight away giving life and lift to the caramelised cherries, pomegranates and strawberry fruit. The wood is a little apparent, giving the frame a spiced edge that sticks out a little and pulls the fruit forwardness back a bit. Clearly powerful, there is a richness and ripeness to the fruit with massy tannins. Nuanced and generous with precision and focus from beginning to the end." Decanter
"This celebrated Tuscan red is a blend of mostly Sangiovese with a smaller part of Malvasia Nera. The Castellare di Castellina 2018 I Sodi di S. Niccolò shows the elegance and grace of these native grapes with aromas of red and purple fruit, cherry, wild rose and gardening soil. However, there is also a strong oak element that adds spice and toast to the bouquet and textural weight to the wine's generous build." Wine Advocate
"A vibrant, balanced and fresh red with raspberries, pomegranates, cherry stones and spice box on the nose. Sleek, tight tannins. Focused, with a very fine structure and wound-up energy." James Suckling
"The 2018 I Sodi di San Niccolò is the most elegant Sodi I have ever tasted, and I have tasted them all. Sodi can be quite the bruiser in its youth, as the tannins are often imposing, but the 2018 is impressive because there is more than enough fruit to balance things out. Dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and gravel build in a Sodi endowed with mind-blowing purity and exceptional finesse. Superb!" Vinous
