“Torrione” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
Bright ruby red with brick-red reflections. Plums and sour cherries on the nose, accompanied by tobacco nuances and dried violet flowers. The fine-meshed tannins combine wonderfully with the notes of red fruit and liquorice on the finish. Very juicy, clear and well-balanced. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, rich ruby red colour. Gentle and inviting nose of ripe cherry, light spice, some candle wax, red apple, sealing wax, precious wood. Juicy on the palate, with pithy tannins, well-integrated acidity, drinky, cheeky, slightly salty on the final." Falstaff
"The Torrione 2021 is one of the best wines of recent years. Bright acids drive through a core of red cherry/plum, blood orange, new leather and spice. The purity of the flavours is impressive. I especially admire the energy of this wine. This is a rare Torrione that I would cellar for at least a year or two." Vinous
"It shows dark fruit with bramble, tree bark, blue flower and sweet cherry. The wine offers mid-weight intensity with a long, silky mouthfeel. There is a point of bright acidity at the end, and even a hit of chili spice." Wine Advocate
"Bright and full of cherry, raspberry and floral notes, this red wine is harmonious and expressive. The finish shows accents of earth, graphite and tobacco, with a beautiful length and compact, chalky tannins." Wine Spectator
"The nose is like a cool, damp forest, with dark berries, fresh earth, but with a quiet rumble of warmth and savoury undertones, and the palate balances cool and warm, sweet and savoury, buoyant but indulgent. Valdarno delivers in every price range, but this one is a particularly good deal." Wine Enthusiast
"Inviting aromas of dark and blue fruits along with subtle notes of chocolate and spice with hints of blue flowers and crushed stones. Medium to full-bodied, complex and structured, but at the same time ethereal and weightless. Here, generosity meets delicacy. It is fluid, dynamic and immediately drinkable, but it is better to give it a few more years in the bottle." James Suckling

Friulano Collio DOC 2022
Schiopetto's Friulano is youthfully unobtrusive with a pretty bouquet that blends lemon peel with mint and hints of crushed rock. It washes over the palate with a tense mix of citrusy acids and salty minerals, while a core of tropical melon develops towards the end. Finishes on a more delicate note, but long and with pretty inner flowers that still linger. The beautiful balance and underlying power of this wine will guarantee good ageing in the bottle. The best is yet to come. SUPERIORE.DE
"Hawthorn blossom on the nose and then that indefinable, seamless, petal-wax smoothness-that-is-Friulano on the palate. It has Friulano's macadamia-nut-carved-into-flower smooth, sweet, floral oiliness. Kind of hard to define, kind of delicate, kind of ploppy (like fat rain drops). Poached-pear sweetness. A wine that would be delicious with anything soft and green and drenched in buttery beurre blanc. Wonderful with cold, minty lamb sausages." Jancis Robinson
"Lithe and well-balanced, this mouthwatering white has lively hints of grapefruit zest, milled white pepper and lemon thyme underscoring juicy tangerine, peach skin and lentil notes." Wine Spectator
"The 2022 Friulano wafts up with a delicate bouquet, blending minty herbs and wet stone with green apples and lime zest. This flows across the palate with ease, crisp and cool-toned in feel, with saline mineral tones adding a tactile feel as candied citrus notes resonate throughout. It finishes clean and with medium length, leaving a salty sensation and the mouth watering for more." Vinous
"Oyster shell, light flint, match stick, dried pear, and apple puree aromas and flavors. Medium to full body. Layered. Very minerally. Tight and focused. Serious." James Suckling

“Vignota” Barbera d’Alba DOC 2022 (BIO)
With the Vignota, vinified from five different vineyards, the winery also proves that a great deal of excitement is possible even in the so-called entry-level range. Thanks to the marl and limestone soils, this wine offers plenty of natural intensity. Delicious bouquet of cherry jam, mint and rose petals. Very densely woven on the palate, with a juiciness, freshness and subtle fruit sweetness that makes this wine an irresistible accompaniment to food. SUPERIORE.DE
"This rich Barbera is full of black cherries, blackberries and plums and shows a slight hint of toasted oak on the finish. Well integrated and long." Wine Spectator
"The 2022 Barbera d'Alba Vignota is a beautiful expression with elegant fruit, dried blueberries, blackcurrants and a dusty mineral note framing the whole with clean and crisp lines. It has a medium fullness of fruit and an alcohol level of 15%, which is picked up by the wine's dense texture. Nevertheless, this is by no means a heavy wine." Wine Advocate
"A red with ripe berries, strawberries and hints of orange peel. Medium- to full-bodied with juicy tannins. Round and slightly crunchy." James Suckling

“Campinovi” Bianco Toscana IGT 2021 (BIO)
Bright straw yellow with golden reflections. Fresh yellow apple, some pear and hay on the nose. Full-bodied and pleasant on the palate, then savoury and with well-dosed acid wire. Wonderfully structured, with a tang that makes you long for the next glass. A great white wine from central Tuscany. SUPERIORE.DE
"This is vibrant and complex, featuring lemon oil, peach, apple, vanilla and toast aromas and flavors. Elegant in profile, this white is charming, harmonious and long." Wine Spectator
"Made with 100% Trebbiano, the organic Dievole 2021 Campinovi shows aromas of citrus, apple, orchard fruit and hints of exotic vanilla. The wine has a slightly waxy or creamy side to its constitution that would work with a pairing of chicken with Moroccan spices." Wine Advocate
"The 2021 Campinovi is a gorgeous, understated white. Floral notes meld into a core of green pear, apple, mint, white pepper and tangerine peel. Airy and gracious, this is impeccably done." Vinous
"A pure trebbiano, showing density and freshness. Full and phenolic with excellent length and depth. Drinks well, but will age beautifully." James Suckling

“Il Seggio” Rosso Bolgheri DOC 2021
Intense ruby red colour. Fresh and crisp fruit, blackberry, spices and mineral notes on the full bouquet. Full and dense on the palate with beautiful primary notes of red berries. The tannins are elegant, silky and warmly enveloping and flank this pretty red in a precise and clean finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep dark, almost impenetrable ruby red colour. Intense nose of preserved blackberry, milk chocolate and oak. Polished on the palate with a savoury fruit component, slightly spicy and powerful through to the juicy final." Falstaff
"Ripe blackberry and mulberry fruit on the nose with a hint of wine gum. Ripe black fruit threaded with chewy herbal, eucalyptus bitterness. Plenty of anxious astringency in the thicket of tannins, although they can't quite contain the juicy voluptuousness of the fruit." Jancis Robinson
"The Poggio al Tesoro 2021 Bolgheri Rosso Il Seggio opens with a dark, inky colour and aromas reminiscent of slate, pencil shavings, curry leaves, sweet blackberries and purple fruit. The wine is broad and rich with a soft intensity." Wine Advocate
"Bright and rich, with flavours of blackcurrant, black cherry, cedar and tobacco, this red wine is also elegant. A firmly built version that shows fine balance and refined tannins on the long finish." Wine Spectator
"A very concentrated red wine with blackcurrant, a hint of dark tobacco and bark. Orange peel. Medium to full body. Juicy and multi-layered with a freshness and finesse. Beautiful length." James Suckling

“Giatl” Pinot Grigio Riserva Alto Adige DOC 2021
Wonderful Pinot Gris Riserva from selected individual vineyards on the valley floor around the village centre of Kurtinig an der Weinstraße. Giatl matures in small wooden barrels for 12 months on the lees, which gives it complexity and finesse. Straw to golden yellow in the glass, with a powerful bouquet of ripe yellow fruit, strong, balanced and slightly salty in flavour. SUPERIORE.DE
"Initially closed on the nose, clearly reductive style. Then pear, hazelnut, hay, a hint of vanilla. Then shows its power on the palate, creamy, spicy, enormous depth and complexity." Vinum
"The Pinot Grigio Riserva Giatl 2021 opens with a gentle sweetness. Notes of camomile complement wild flowers and crushed yellow apples. It is pleasantly round with ripe fruit and sweet spices flowing over a savoury acidity. Ginger spices add a savoury tension to the finish. The 2020 finishes full of tension and with medium length." Vinous
"Graceful and finely meshed, with a silky texture. With detailed flavours of ripe peach and yellow plum, chamomile, broom, lemon wax and blanched almonds, this wine is fresh and concentrated through to the lightly spiced finish." Wine Spectator

“Vigna Montebello Sette” Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2019
Stylistically balanced, very finesse-rich Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from a small single vineyard (vineyard no. 7) in the Castelnuovo-Berardenga area, where the temperatures are always somewhat higher than in the rest of the Chianti Classico. Dark shining ruby. Elegant bouquet of the single-varietal Sangiovese of red berries with very delicate notes of tobacco. Salty on the palate, shows a lot of pressure, very clear, compact fruit, builds up with tightly woven tannin, very intense and long finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna Montebello Sette is a potent, heady wine that also shows the previous style here. Macerated cherry, plum, mocha, new leather, licorice and a kiss of French oak all meld together. This potent, layered Gran Selezione offers plenty of impact in a dense, extracted style." Vinous
"A supple red wine with aromas of preserved cherries and plums that fade into eucalyptus and Tuscan scrub on the palate as it evolves. The tannins are rather firm and finish with a slightly astringent feel, so give it time." Wine Spectator
"It is still very youthful and slightly reductive, but clearly shows the dark fruit of Chianti Classico in the south. Blackcurrant and plum are plump and mouth-filling, while nuances of damp earth, smoke and vanilla add intrigue in the background. The tannins are strong but well pronounced, giving the wine an appropriate power. This wine needs another year to develop its complexity and site specificity." Decanter
"A concentrated and very polished Chianti Classico with aromas and flavours of black cherry, gravel and minerals. Medium to full body, firm tannins and a concentrated finish. Bark and berry character on the finish. Firm and racy. It will get better in a year or two, but I like the focus it has." James Suckling

“Pergolaia” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020 (BIO)
Pergolaia consists mainly of Sangiovese with smaller proportions of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The wine opens with a medium-bodied attack and a bright bouquet characterised by notes of cherry, wild plum, ploughed earth and pressed blue flowers. This very Mediterranean-style red with a strong personality envelops the palate with a delicate, silky intensity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Attractive red fruit character with orange peel, cured meat and wet stones on offer. Medium to full-bodied, firm and straightforward with fine tannins and juicy acidity that gives it freshness and crispness. Bright and velvety finish." James Suckling
"Aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, black olive tapenade, violets and cedar dominate this red wine, which is characterised by purity and precision, while densely woven tannins contribute to a velvety texture. Balanced and long." Wine Spectator
"On the nose, aromas of rose petals soften a bold, tart fruitiness, while savoury notes of earth and ash lead to a palate that starts fleshy and spicy before a gentle, tempering sweetness emerges, providing a sense of comfort. Intentional and satisfying." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2020 Pergolaia, the winery's Sangiovese blend, is a beautiful, exotic wine. Ripe red cherry fruit, white pepper, mint, rose petals and cinnamon bring out the racy side of the Sangiovese. Small amounts of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon round off the blend. All the elements are so beautifully balanced." Vinous

“Brolio” Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2020
Everything is just right here: Brolio Riserva is classic in its composition, in its ageing, in its overall impression from the label to the last sip. Velvety, dense ruby colour, dense nose with rich fruit, especially blackberry, some elderberry and a beautiful herbal spice. Juicy and supple on the palate, the finish is polished with fine-grained tannins and a long-lasting final. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red colour. Dark berries on the nose, fine, spicy notes with a blood orange aftertaste. Medium structure on the palate, polished, present tannins, fresh acidity, lingering finish." Falstaff
"This Chianti Classico is a savoury version with aromas of green olive, tomato leaf, iron and tobacco clustered around a core of macerated cherry fruit. Although lean and sinewy, it is also intense and focused, with a lingering aftertaste that feels the pull of both the savoury and fruity sides." Wine Spectator
"A firm and fresh Chianti Classico with a light to medium body, sour cherries, orange peel and hints of sandalwood. Crunchy finish." James Suckling
"The 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Brolio is a dark, brooding wine. Black cherry, licorice, sage, tobacco, incense and leather fill out the layers as this strapping Riserva shows off its imposing personality. This is nicely done." Vinous
"In the bottle with the black label, this is a very pretty, relatable and well-priced wine from Tuscany. Made with 100% Sangiovese, the 2020 Chianti Classico Riserva Brolio offers blueberry, plum and sweet spice thanks to 18 months of tonneaux aging. I especially appreciate the wine's pronounced mineral signature that gives the wine a salty or savory side, which is perfect for food pairing." Wine Advocate
"Its versatile aroma is reminiscent of redcurrants, Mediterranean maquis, peony and pepper leaf. Sip with powerful tannins, tension and juiciness, finish with a fruity-floral return." Luca Gardini

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Monica Raspi produces her Riserva from a single vineyard with the oldest vines of the winery, planted in 2000. The east-facing vineyard lies at an altitude of 350 metres and the soil is poor and stony with many limestone deposits. With its subtle bouquet, it slowly but surely seduces with aromas of raspberries, cherries and thyme flowers. The palate is wonderfully elegant, with a stony minerality and a tangy, appetising backbone. Terracotta-like tannins sneak up and envelop the fruit rather than undermine it. This is how pristine and good Chianti Classico Riserva goes! SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna Pomona is bursting with wild cherry, smoke, licorice, tobacco, game, incense and mocha. This somber, potent Riserva packs tons of intensity into its full-bodied frame. Graphite, lavender, sage and dried flowers linger on the imposing finish. I would give this a year or two in bottle." Vinous
"A concentrated red wine with aromas of cherry, plum, iron, eucalyptus and resin. Straightforward and taut, with refined tannins for support. Complex and lively, with a firm, long finish." Wine Spectator
"The oak remains very much in the background, allowing the fruit to come through fully. It's beautifully weighted with red and blackcurrants wrapped in terracotta-like tannins and balanced by lively, crisp acidity. Damp earth, green herbs and stony minerals slowly emerge. With time, this wine will show more of its generous side." Decanter

Metodo Classico Trento DOC brut
Fine traditional brut from the Lunelli family, who work tirelessly on the authenticity of their Trentino sparkling wines. A wide range of aromas and an elegant flavour with a good structure offer first-class enjoyment. SUPERIORE.DE
"A hint of nuttiness that underlines the flavours of preserved lemon and pear. Redcurrant richness, creamy, rich and round, with an impressive mousse and tangy red apple bite. The well-formed and well-integrated bubbles give the wine a creamy texture that melds with the richness of the fruit. Sweet spices and nougat cream on the finish. Great stuff." Decanter
"The Brut Trento opens with a blend of dusty dried flowers, cardamom and freshly sliced pears. It fills the palate with a silky pearl of fine bubbles and takes on a savoury to sweet sensation, while tactile mineral tones mingle with ripe fruit trees. It finishes with admirable length and candied citrus fruits that taper off remarkably fresh. I love the balance and complexity of this wine, especially for a non-vintage brut." Vinous
"A refined and expressive aperitif-style sparkling wine. On the palate, it is bright and lively, with a fine, lacy mousse that carries a delicious palette of pineapple, tangerine peel and white cherry fruit, accented by ground ginger, white flowers and fleur de sel." Wine Spectator
"The nose is a tantalizing medley of crisp green apples, zesty lemon, and a hint of toasty brioche. On the palate, a lively chorus of citrus fruits and white peaches harmonizes with a subtle undercurrent of minerality. Impressively structured Chardonnay from the Kreuth estate. The western vineyard produces a very elegant wine that impresses with its fine acidity, creamy structure and elegant interplay of flavours. Bright, radiant straw yellow in colour. Complex and balanced, with an abundance of tropical fruit, underlined by a sensual salty minerality. Long and persistent. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, intense golden yellow colour. Presents itself with fine spice on the nose, followed by fully ripe yellow peach and honeydew melon, mineral on the finish. Flows creamy and with sweet fruit over the tongue, with refreshing acidity, great harmony and finesse through to the very long finish." Falstaff
"The 2022 Chardonnay Kreuth is savoury rather than sweet, as its bouquet contains notes of dried flowers, almonds, raw dough and some ginger. It opens with a lovely inner sweetness and soft textures that introduce ripe stone fruit and sweet spices. The finish is long and fresh, leaving a slight savoury tension that leaves you wanting more." Vinous
"Delicate notes of white flowers and mountain herbs provide a subtle, savoury thread that winds through the flavours of kiwi, pear and tangerine in this vibrant white wine. Dense and finely meshed, with a rich minerality reminiscent of graphite and a slightly chalky texture. Persistent and fresh on the honeyed finish." Wine Spectator
"Grown high in the foothills of the Alps in South Tyrol, this Chardonnay shows how the warm days and cold nights produce unique wines. The wine opens with aromas of warmed peach pie, baked Fuji apples, lemon blossom and crushed stone, evolving with every moment. On the palate, it is full-bodied but has the acidity to support the ripe fruit and stone fruit flavours, leading into a creamy texture and mineral finish." Wine Enthusiast
"On the nose and palate, notes of flint and matches combined with dried apples and sliced lemons. Medium to full body with lots of slightly chewy phenolics. Concentrated and refreshing. Quite amazing." James Suckling

“Valdisanti” Rosso Toscana IGT 2020
The grapes for this Supertuscan come from the San Giovanni vineyard near San Giovanni a Cerreto. In the church next to the vineyard there is a painting by Rutilo Manetti depicting St John the Baptist (San Giovanni). Deep ruby red, youthful, rich, dark fruit, berry and cassis flavours meld with French oak. On the palate with deep, subtle fruit flavours and an excellent balance of fruit and tannin, plus some smoke, liquorice and tar. A rich, almost opulent red with outstanding structure and great ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"An intense red with aromas of graphite, spice and tar complementing concentrated flavours of blackberries, blueberries, wild rosemary and minerals. The wine shows powerful tannins that are assertive but not overly astringent at this youthful stage. Compact finish." Wine Spectator
"A medium-bodied red wine with flavours of currants, berries and sandalwood. It is easy to chew, but shows glamour and tension." James Suckling
"An undertone of Bing cherries provides pop on an otherwise earthy, metallic nose. Orange zest brings out the cherries' subtle sourness on the palate, while strong acid and heat keep things lively until a structured, tannic finish." Wine Enthusiast
"This is a particularly intense and soft red blend that shows impressive and seamless integration. You get the dark intensity of the two grapes used in the blend, framed by the sweet spice and toast of French oak ageing. This vintage has particularly broad shoulders and is especially rich." Wine Advocate
"The Valdisanti 2020 is outstanding in this vintage. Rich, dark and lush, this blend is seductive from the start. Deep dark fruits, grilled herbs, leather, new oak, liquorice and mocha are nicely turned up. The 2020 is opulent, but by no means heavy. The 2020 is a great Valdisanti." Vinous

“La Fabriseria” Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC 2019
La Fabriseria comes across as an elegant, medium-bodied Amarone. Its intensity, tannin structure and density are hard to beat in this price range. Very juicy on the palate, full-bodied and soft, with notes of cherries, cardamom and cloves. And always with the elegant seriousness of the Tedeschi family's great flagship of the same name. SUPERIORE.DE
"Very deep ruby red colour. Spicy notes of white pepper and tobacco on the nose, with hints of coffee and small red fruits. Full-bodied and intense in the mouth, soft, with character, personality and pronounced tannins on the finish, lingers for a long time." Falstaff
"Vibrant and fresh aromas of wild cherry and sour plum give way to exotic purple flower aromas and tobacco on the nose. The palate pops with tart red fruit notes followed by a mix of sweet and savory spices finishing with a bright pop of acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"A dense nose of dried fruit, mainly plums and black berries, which opens up a little on the medium-bodied palate, but the fruit is still essentially wrapped in a cocoon of fine, slightly drying tannin. This wine clearly needs more time in bottle to develop, but it shows great promise. Try decanting it now, but best from 2024." James Suckling
"The 2019 Valpolicella Classico Superiore La Fabriseria has sweet cherry syrup or crème de cassis that transitions to a savory side with hints of spice and tarry smoke. The wine presents bright flavors and enough structure to pair next to a heavy meat ragù and homemade pasta." Wine Advocate
"This is a long-standing and favourite Tedeschi production. The 2019 Valpolicella Classico Superiore La Fabriseria has sweet cherry syrup or crème de cassis that fades into a savoury side with hints of spice and tarry smoke." Wine Advocate
"The Valpolicella Superiore La Fabriseria 2019 is a real delight on the nose, with an opulent blend of crushed black cherries complemented by cinnamon, cloves and cocoa. It is silky and supple, with a lively acidity that further enlivens the ripe red fruit and inner spice. The 2019 tapers off with amazing length but also freshness, leaving a subtle train of fine tannins as the raspberry and liquorice notes slowly fade. This is a real crowd favourite." Vinous
"From grapes left to slightly over-ripen on the vine, with a portion of the fruit left uncrushed for fermentation, it has a deep and perfumed blackcurrant aroma with noticeable tannic structure overlaid by incredibly smooth and plush fruit. Despite this, it's light on its feet and well balanced despite the 15.5% alcohol, lifted on the finish by a touch of balsam." Decanter

“Biancosesto 20° vendemmia” Friuli Colli Orientali DOC 2022
The Biancosesto is a true Friulian made from equal parts of the local Ribolla Gialla and Friulano grape varieties. Fresh, citrus-fruity aroma with hints of apple and pear, accompanied by a full-bodied, harmonious and pleasantly dry flavour. A refined interpretation of down-to-earthness with a beautiful arc of tension. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright olive green with straw yellow colour. Juicy citrus fruit on the nose, elderberry, juicy pink peach, rose petal, grapefruit, pomegranate, inviting. Fresh, juicy, clear on the palate, with well-defined fruit, full of tension and accessible, pure drinking pleasure." Falstaff
"Perfumed, elegant nose with citrus blossom and menthol, rich on the palate with candied fruit." Decanter
"This bright white features juicy pineapple, passion fruit and lychee notes accented by hints of grated ginger, ground cardamom, vanilla and white blossoms. Well-knit and lightly chalky in texture, with a focused, mineral-driven finish." Wine Spectator
"I like the undertones of crushed stone in the grapefruit and gooseberry flavours. It's bright, creamy and citrusy, with a medium body and a lively, zesty finish." James Suckling
"The Tunella 2022 Friuli Colli Orientali Biancosesto emphasises its modernist style with a very rich and creamy texture that comes from ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels. The blend consists of equal parts Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, and the fruit benefits from marl and sandstone soils that develop freshness and sweet concentration. This wine is complex and rich with ripe fruit, apricots and pears. It is a 360-degree expression with an extra dose of opulence to finish." Wine Advocate

“Le Volte dell’Ornellaia” Rosso Toscana IGT 2021
Rich bouquet of sweet red berries, balsamic notes, fine flavours of tobacco and chocolate. Very harmonious on the palate of dark cherries, flatteringly full flavour, perfectly balanced tannins, fresh acidity and good length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Le Volte dell'Ornellaia 2021 offers bright and youthful fruit with dark cherries, cassis, spices and red roses. This wine is made from Merlot, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. You can feel the acidity of the Italian grapes and the rich fruit of the two French grape varieties. The wine is taut and dense with medium intensity. This is the entry-level red wine from one of Italy's best-known wineries." Wine Advocate
"A firm and silky wine with aromas and flavours of bark, berries, chocolate and light coffee. Medium body. Creamy, structured finish. Drinkable and fresh." James Suckling
"Shows expressive, juicy flavours of blackcurrant, blackberry, cassis and lavender that need time to meld with the firm, dusty tannins, some of which come from the oak. Gets even better with a few minutes of air. Offers a nice length. Decant now." Wine Spectator
"Intense ruby red with a slightly lighter rim. Subtle aromas of ripe sour cherry and preserved plums on the nose, with some spice and a touch of liquorice in the background. Well-balanced on the palate, with fine-grained tannins, drinky and a long final." Falstaff
"The nose blends rich fruit notes of cherry, pomegranate, blood orange and raspberry with a woody, earthy, slightly herbal savoriness. The cherries and blood orange star on the palate, with the savory elements continuing to make themselves known before a closing kick of chili heat. Vibrant acidity bounces around chalky tannins." Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2022 (BIO)
The grapes for Poggio Anticos Rosso have always come from 100% Brunello vineyards and the wine is a real insider tip for Montalcino lovers. Several of the vineyards have been certified organic since 2022. After some aeration, it beguiles the nose with an overwhelming bouquet of spices, ripe red cherries and fine leather notes. Full, firm and fleshy on the palate, the structure is very polished and balanced. A Rosso that could easily be a Brunello with a little patience and further bottle ageing: precise, delicious and with a beautiful, long final full of depth and a delightful aftertaste. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant ruby red colour. Gentle expression on the nose, of redcurrant and blackberry, some hay, earthy notes on the finish. Juicy palate entry with precise acidity, dark fruit and a certain pressure on the palate, juicy." Falstaff
"Pretty, youthful purple-ruby red colour. Still quite closed and brooding on the nose, with fresh fruit and electrifying acidity on the palate. Cranberry and raspberry on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"The 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is a spice box. It blends cloves with allspice, dried citrus peels, sage and cedar. Racy yet potent, it possesses a core of ripe wild berry fruit guided by zesty acidity. The 2022 doesn't miss a beat, finishing with a subtle tannic crunch and last licorice tones that carry on." Vinous
"Fragrant and full on the nose. The palate is bright and lively, very forward and intense, but in a juicy, fun way. It has energy and drive, a wonderfully filling wine with lots of sour strawberry and fleshy strawberry elements. Pairs beautifully with food and is a lovely wine for this price. It feels very natural and well-crafted without trying too hard and without its fruity nature being compromised by high acidity. Clean and crisp." Decanter
"This powerful red wine is infused with cherry and iron flavours, accompanied by a strong acidity. Balanced and long, with an aftertaste that picks up on salty mineral and wild herb notes." Wine Spectator

“Le Difese” Toscana IGT 2021
Le Difese is the freshest and most accessible of the three wines from San Guido. For us, it is one of Tuscany's finest price-quality wonders. Magnificent, sweetly perfumed fruit aromas in the opulent bouquet, equally generous and broad in the long-lasting flavour of dark cherries, wild strawberries and tangy rosehips. Le Difese shows the estate's great class in a more playful way. SUPERIORE.DE
"This red delivers cherry, berry and rose flavors shaded by earth and a touch of minerality. Tips to the tannic side on the finish, with fine length." Wine Spectator
"Le Difese 2021 is predominantly Sangiovese (55%), departing from the traditional 70/30 split in favour of Cabernet Sauvignon. The third generation of Tenuta San Guido, Priscilla Incisa della Rocchetta, explained that this decision was made to enhance the "local Tuscan" character of the wine and improve its drinkability at an early stage as a "first step into the world of Tenuta San Guido". While the Cabernet is grown on the estate, the Sangiovese is, as always, sourced from long-standing partners in Chianti Rufina. Bright, incredibly vibrant red, black and blue fruits are accompanied by subtle, fine-grained tannins with notes of wood and chocolate. It is simultaneously juicy, tangy and crisp, with good ripeness and great acidity." Decanter
"The 2021 Le Difese smells of crushed red berries, rose petals, lavender, spices and sweet pipe tobacco. The 2021 is medium-bodied, but beautifully complex and impeccably balanced. Even at this early stage, it is a real pleasure. In many vintages, Le Difese is a fruity, forward wine, but the 2021 has a classic flavour that is very appealing. It is one of my favourite vintages of recent years. As has been the case for some time, Le Difese is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate and Sangiovese purchased from various estates in Chianti Classico, with the energy of the Sangiovese coming through very strongly in this vintage." Vinous
"Dark, sparkling ruby red colour. Opens up on the nose to ripe sour cherry and blueberries, followed by notes of sage and wood spice. Flattering on the palate, with pithy tannins and concentrated fruit, pleasant right through to the lingering final." Falstaff

“Grave di Stecca” Vino Spumante 2016 brut
Grave di Stecca is Nino Franco's exposed single vineyard on the slopes of the Prealpi. The south-facing vineyard is planted exclusively with the Prosecco grape Glera. Brilliantly shiny white gold, gently emerging perlage, a bouquet of sage with a fresh fruit scent. Very pleasantly dry on the palate, silky and long - the undisputed great top growth of the renowned Prosecco forge. SUPERIORE.DE
"Powerful bright lemon yellow with green accents. Distinctive aroma of delicate herbs (thyme), ripe pineapple and passion fruit, plus fine brioche notes and nut butter. Builds up richly, fills the entire palate, delicate and multi-layered in the drink, coherent, also complex and long-lasting in the finish." Falstaff
"Lush aromas of glazed apples and baked nectarines are well defined by a bright, lively acid structure in this elegant example. The texture is soft and creamy, with fragrant notes of lime zest, Earl Grey tea and graphite in the mid-palate and finish, with a hint of fleur de sel melting on the finish." Wine Spectator
"On the nose, a rich blend of cider apple, yuzu and hints of green tea and almond. Very fruity on the palate too, with a medium fizz and a tasty, spicy finish. Lots of character." James Suckling
"The 2016 Brut Grave di Stecca displays a brilliant golden colour in the glass, with a stunning bouquet of peach jam and sweetly spiced flowers, contrasted by wild herbs and crushed stone. The texture is creamy yet edgy, with zesty acidity that pinches the cheeks, but also an abundance of ripe fruit trees and floral scents that arch across the palate. It leaves a hint of ginger and a bitter hint of roasted hazelnuts, but the finish is one of cleansing freshness. The 2016 is not about power or fruit, but delicacy and graceful impact. I love it. Grave di Stecca is a single vineyard in the hills of Valdobbiadene with old Glera vines." Vinous
"Light and airy, this lovely sparkling wine has inviting aromas of ripe white stone fruit, spring flowers and baking spices. On the dry, foamy palate, elegant perlage and fresh acidity accompany ripe yellow apples, Bartlett pear, vanilla cake cream and a hint of white almond." Wine Enthusiast
"Grave di Stecca represents both the best of Prosecco – specifically Valdobbiadene – and the best of what is not ‘Prosecco’; the authorities refused to certify it as DOCG due to its atypical style, so to this day Nino Franco bottles it as a vino spumante in protest. The grapes are sourced from the walled Grave di Stecca vineyard, the site of the family residence, purchased by Franco in 1991. Super-aromatic and exotically scented, with passion fruit and ripe banana, in the mouth it’s very mineral and earthy, intense and rich but well sculpted. Tropical and spicy, it’s slightly creamy – almost mushroomy – with a lip-smacking saline finish. This wine can age well thanks to extended lees ageing of the base wines then long maturation in bottle before release." Decanter

“61” Franciacorta DOCG extra brut
A subtle, delicate aroma of bread crust and white peach, with hints of almond and beautiful citrus notes. The fresh, clear flavour is long and precise - Berlucchi's affordable classic is now available as an extra brut with less dosage. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow with silver reflections and a fine perlage. Yellow apple and pear, brioche and acacia blossom on the nose. Animating acidity on the palate, salty and agrum notes on the final." Falstaff
"This fresh Franciacorta is lightly chalky and fine in texture, with an aromatic apple blossom overtone to its well-meshed mix of white cherry, nectarine, pink grapefruit peel and salted almond. Very sippable." Wine Spectator
"Clean and straightforward, with a dense nose of green apples and lime blossom. Large but soft bubbles, refreshing acidity and a lean body with a fruity finish." James Suckling

Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Deep ruby red colour, as expected from a good traditionally and organically produced wine. A wonderful, elegant and open-hearted aroma spectrum between sour cherry and nutmeg. Clear and savoury on the palate, beautifully balanced and with plenty of youthful freshness and minerality on the long finish. This medium-bodied Riserva is already drinking well today, but also has enough energy to develop positively in the bottle for at least a handful of years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Attractive red-fruity character with notes of walnuts, dried leaves, ground cloves and crushed stones. Medium body with polished tannins and chalky texture. Firm and straightforward with lively acidity." James Suckling
"Cherry, plum, leather, iron, sanguine and eucalyptus aromas and flavors mingle in this firm, linear red, which unfolds nicely on the palate, with fine staying power. Just a bit crisp on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The key is the territory. This winery creates a very authentic and clean expression of Gaiole in Chianti, one of the wildest corners of the appellation with winding roads that lead through dense forests. This wild character is reproduced here with flavours of forest fruits, spices and earth." Wine Advocate
"The 2019 is beautiful and lively and enchants with evocative aromas of hibiscus, coriander and orange zest. Medium-bodied with slender, graceful fruit, it offers crunchy redcurrants and raspberries carried by juicy acidity. A fine, subtle framework of chalky tannins provides elegant support for the next six to seven years - but it is also very enjoyable now." Decanter

Chianti Classico DOCG 2021
Maurizia di Napoli Rampolla and her brother Luca describe their strategy of natural viticulture in Panzano as "gentle farming". The very successful Chianti Classico with its clean fruit bouquet, precise flavour, firm tannins and beautiful texture and depth is a delightful wine that is unfortunately very limited in quantity each year. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Chianti Classico 2021 is an elegant, graceful wine. Crushed flowers, bright red fruits, tobacco, cinnamon and dried flowers take shape in a decidedly delicate, restrained wine from Rampolla. The 2021 is a model of elegance and finesse and is at its best today." Vinous
"Maraschino cherry, pomegranate, smoked meat, earth and rosemary flavors highlight this sleek red, which is defined by vivid acidity and solid tannins, with a dry, sinewy finish." Wine Spectator
"A dense, velvety and delicious Chianti Classico with aromas of sour cherries, wild berries and dried flowers on the nose. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Lots of texture, with a core of berries coming through. Aromatic finish." James Suckling
