It is only since the early 1980s that Chardonnay has been vinified as a single-varietal wine in South Tyrol. The pioneer was the St. Michael-Eppan winery, which experienced a tremendous upswing at that time. The pure Vermentino Meri is stylish and crisp. Wonderful notes of lemon, honey, orange, pear and apple on the nose. Fresh and lively, but at the same time full and intense. The grapes are cooled in the vineyard immediately after harvest and are protected from oxidation - this allows them to retain their best possible flavour and gives the wine a richer, more complex bouquet.
