"The 2021 expresses the conditions of the vintage with an overall density, but remains balanced and agile. In-house Oenologist Giuseppe Rigoli explains that a small portion of the grapes were harvested very early to preserve freshness and the rest were brought in by the end of September. He also carried out a slightly shorter maceration of 15 days (compared to 20 days in 2020). The wine opens with a hint of vanilla and then fades into mint and violets. The sandy tannins envelop the concentrated red berries and grip powerfully on the finish. The original quality of the fruit shines through and the savoury nuances remain." Decanter

Vulcaia is a soft, full Sauvignon Blanc with tropical fruits and rich toasty aromas. On the nose, citrus and sweet floral scents. Maurizio Castelli does not like fancy names. That's why he took a simple but original approach when naming the estate and his top wine: 414, which is the number of the vineyard in the region's land register. And the Morellino 414 more than lives up to this clear line and proves its stature: smoky notes in the lively fruit bouquet, the contrasting, drinkable flavour convinces with aromatic power and structure. This is the epitome of a trattoria or bistro wine with an unmistakable Alpine flavour. The Carménère and Merlot grapes are matured separately for 12 months, 80% in third and fourth passage barriques and 20% in stainless steel. This is followed by the blending of the "Carménère Più", which then matures for four months in stainless steel before being bottled. Lugana Pievecroce is a beautiful, light-coloured wine with aromas of melon, lemon peel, ripe pears and jasmine, accompanied by a lively acidity. After organic certification was granted for the 2021 vintage, the next generation of Carlettis, namely Maria Stella and Francesco, began working on a new wine. It was to be a Rosso made from 100% Prugnolo Gentile, the local variety of Sangiovese. The vines for the single vineyard at high altitude were selected from ancient clones that had already given Montepulciano wines supra-regional importance in the Middle Ages.

Fiori Rosso, the winery's new "Super Rosso", surprises with its enormous fragrance, reminiscent of blood orange, dark cherries and mulberries, violets and violet flowers. Modern, velvety and accessible on the palate, yet sophisticated - an incredibly hedonistic wine whose label is a promise of the wine's fragrance and an allusion to the fields of flowers between the organic rows of vines. The owner of Selvapiana, Francesco Giuntini, and the owner of the Petrognano winery, Cecilia Galeotti Ottieri, have enjoyed a long friendship. Their small winery on the border between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna is located in the centre of the Pomino DOC, which was first mentioned in a document in 1716 and is one of the first four protected appellations in Tuscany (alongside Rufina Classico, Carmignano and Valdarno Superiore). For some years now, the two have been linked by the "Villa Petrognano" project, under which one of the region's most authentic and best Pomino Rosso wines is produced under the aegis of Selvapiana.
