The name of this powerful, aromatic white wine comes from the Arabic, which means "lush garden on a ventilated plateau". Strong straw yellow colour with light green inclusions. Violets, elderflower, orange peel and apricot on the nose. On the palate, the fragrance merges with a full potpourri of notes of apricot, pineapple and almonds. The Garofoli winery is a true winemaking jewel from the Italian Marche region and is known for its terrificVerdicchio from the Castello di Jesi DOC. The vineyards are located 15 metres above sea level, facing west, on river sediment soils with a sandy texture. The coastal sun shines through in the bright straw-yellow nuances of this wine. Rosso Piancarda is intensely flavoured and perfumed, with medicinal cherries and raspberries complemented by dusty roses and sweet cedar wood notes. On the palate, Piancarda turns to the savoury spectrum. Salty and full of savoury minerality, it shows spicy red fruits, a hint of plum and a lively acidity that keeps the expression fresh. Blend of Sangiovese (approx. 80%) and Petit Verdot from the south-west slope in small quantities < 5,000 bottles. The soil has a brown colour, a clayey-loamy texture, limestone slabs and a rounded skeleton. Only the Sangiovese matures for a few months in French oak, after which it is blended and matured in the bottle. Ruby red in colour with violet reflections. Intense aroma with characteristic notes of ripe fruit such as plum, blackberry and cherry. The flavour is soft and full, with a good structure and sweet, well-balanced tannins. SUPERIORE.DE

The grapes for Maurizio Castelli's new, crisp and fresh white wines come from a vineyard on Monte Bottigli, a "forteto" known to the locals for its wild and impenetrable nature.
