Bright, aromatic, almost exuberant Falanghina that focuses on its well-defined, brilliant fruit and pleasantly pleasing style. Fine summer meadow scent, citrusy tones and a dry cereal note on the palate. Very endearing and full of character at the same time! SUPERIORE.DE

Fiano Campania IGT 2021
This Pietracupa wine perfectly combines the aromatic grace of Fiano di Avellino with the mineral strength of the Montefredane soil. Citrus notes on the nose, a variety of fruit flavours on the palate, rocky minerality, complexity and an excellent structure beguile the senses. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Pietracupa 2021 Fiano is a linear and crisp white wine that opens to a flinty mineral tone that dovetails into unripe peach, white flower and pulpy grapefruit. The whole presentation is smooth and very true to this fantastic white grape from southern Italy. The wine ends with notes of freshness and saltiness, and it's all beautifully balanced." Wine Advocate
"Colline di Montefredano, province of Avellino, a commendable project of denial of the territory from which this Fiano comes, produced exclusively in steel. On the nose, marjoram and white peach, then wisteria and lime, salty, crisp, slightly almondy on the palate." Luca Gardini

Taurasi DOCG 2016
Pietracupas Taurasi (small edition 4,000 bottles) is a real rarity and still an insider tip. It demonstrates excellent balance and has a very long, silky texture that does not lack power and freshness. You will find lots of dark fruits like cherry and blackberry, but also earthy tones as well as pencil shavings and sweet spices from the oak. Great potential, wonderfully long and strong in character. SUPERIORE.DE
"Aromas of grilled meat, plum and a subtle honeysuckle note. Full-bodied with silky tannins. Spicy on the palate with lots of dried herbs and earthy spices. Finish with coffee." James Suckling

Sabino Loffredo is one of the most talented and successful winemakers in southern Italy. Because he had to give up his career as a sportsman after an accident, the talented wine taster moved to the Pietracupa family estate in Montefredane at the turn of the millennium, which was still managed by his father Peppino, where he steadily expanded his project and led the business to great heights in just a few years. Thanks to his craftsmanship and his great determination, Sabino has succeeded in producing wines in a personal and unmistakable style that are highly appreciated far beyond Campania. Today, the owner of the estate, who works with great seriousness and rather quietly, is not only regarded as one of the most successful newcomers and one of the best producers of fragrant mineral white wines, but also as a much sought-after producer of spicy-elegant red wines.
It is quite astonishing how Loffredo, with his own sensitivity, succeeds again and again in the Azienda Vinicola Pietracupa in forming brilliant plants with a high ageing potential from the great varieties Fiano and Greco. The white wines of the small farm, located in the province of Avellino, which reliably represent the terroir of Irpinia, are vinified without maceration and malolactic fermentation. They are stored in steel barrels for up to several months in yeast residues resulting from fermentation before being bottled. When the white drops are matured, the determined landowner takes great care to preserve the acidity. The juicy and characteristic red wines based on the local Aglianico are in no way inferior to the other creations in terms of purity and stylistic individuality.
The vineyards of Pietracupa reach heights of up to 800 metres. The soils are loamy and calcareous. Thanks to good south-eastern locations, the vines benefit from a microclimate with sufficiently high temperature fluctuations, which allows the grapes to ripen very well.
The successes of Loffredo in the vineyard and in the cellar, which were initially often regarded as the surprise results of an outsider, have already been praised several times by wine critics. For example, before 2006, no other Campania winery had received the award from the Wine Guide Gambero Rosso"A climber of the year" received. The awards have contributed to the fact that the Pietracupa wines have conquered a firm place among the top Italian wines. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sabino Loffredo is undoubtedly one of the most capable, instinctive and consistent white wine producers in Italy."Gambero Rosso
