“PIRIA” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2023 secco
Light ruby red colour. A small fruit basket with red berries and cherries on the nose, delicately floral with violets. Quite full-bodied, very dry with fine fruit and extremely fine sparkling mousseux, lingers for a long time, very finely balanced. The winery recommended it with tortellini in brodo - we can only agree, a perfect match. SUPERIORE.DE
"The nose of this stunning frizzante reveals a distinct interplay between fresh bay leaf, thyme, and crushed cherries, delicately sprinkled with rose petals. On the palate, it offers a mouthwatering mix of freshly chopped raspberries, green herbs, and a hint of white pepper, accompanied by subtle gamy notes. Versatile and delightful, it pairs wonderfully with a range of dishes promising to please all palates." Wine Enthusiast

“SOLCO” Lambrusco dell’Emilia IGT 2023 semisecco
Dark cherry red with violet reflections. Intense aroma of sweet, preserved Amarena cherries and sour cherries, with a delicate herbal flavour, very inviting. Sweet fruit again on the palate, embedded in a fine, sparkling mousse, long-lasting and fresh, with a lively acidity on the finish. A fine aperitif, but also a very good accompaniment to hearty pasta dishes. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lifted and pretty, this Lambrusco exudes a bouquet of vibrant purple and blue flowers, such as violets, lavender, and iris. Wild plums and sour cherries seem to have been steeped in a bowl of wild mint and thyme, with intriguing hints of mushroom and freshly turned earth adding depth to the aromatic profile. The palate is lush, brimming with a medley of purple fruits, and the finish is touched with a delightful sweetness that lingers and is lifted by an energetic pop of acidity on the finish." "A lovely pink with orange hues, the 2023 Lambrusco di Sorbara Sant'Agata wafts up with a vivid blend of orchard fruits, chamomile and sweet florals. It's more savory than expected, with a wild core of sour citrus that adds tension as notes of nectarine and exotic spice swirl throughout. The Sant'Agata leaves the palate completely refreshed, tapering off classically dry and quite long." Vinous

“RADICE” Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC 2023 secco
Out with the clichés, in with the surprise! Paltrinieri's most famous Lambrusco wine will also delight every connoisseur. Radice is produced using the Pét Nat method (Metodo Ancestrale) and therefore undergoes a second fermentation on its own yeast after bottling. This naturally cloudy, dry frizzante impresses on the nose with notes of rhubarb, a fresh citrus flavour and a hint of bread. The persistent, fine perlage and its drinkynature make it a racy accompaniment to savoury, spicy antipasti, light meat dishes or simply a lively celebration in the midst of nature and cheerful people. SUPERIORE.DE
"Pale coral red in colour with a slightly veiled appearance, it opens with aromas reminiscent of a basket of berries and a hint of pie crust in the background. The palate is razor-sharp, with a juicy acidity and a long, savoury finish." Decanter
"A very pale, blush-coloured sparkling wine with aromas of raspberries, strawberries and grapefruit. It is tangy and refreshing on the palate, with a light body and slight bubbles. Barely perceptible tannins. Drink it now." James Suckling
"Tropical melon combines with a cascade of rose petals and sweet spice as the 2023 Lambrusco di Sorbara Radice blossoms in the glass. It washes across the palate with a silken bead of fine bubbles driven by brilliant acidity, while mineral-drenched orchard fruits add a crunchy sensation. A liquid floral concentration coats the senses as the 2023 tapers off long and gently tannic, leaving hints of wild strawberry and licorice to linger. Fantastic. As good as this is today, I’m tempted to lose a couple of bottles in the cellar for another year or two." Vinous

"The wine is characterised by a remarkably bright colour and vibrant notes of candied fruit, particularly strawberries and cranberries. On the palate, these flavours develop into a refreshing blend of lemon and raspberry notes, culminating in a bright and tangy finish." Wine Enthusiast
"A whiff of ground ginger gives way to freshly sliced pears, white cherries and hints of sweet smoke as the 2023 Lambrusco di Sorbara Leclisse slowly evolves in the glass. This wine is elegant upon entry, with a stern mineral core that adds contrast as silken bubbles carry notes of ripe melon and peach across the palate. The Leclisse cleans up beautifully, floral and perfumed yet classically dry with a slightly salty tinge that resonates." Vinous

A vineyard with fifteen hectares of vineyards is almost ridiculously small in Emilia-Romagna. Nevertheless, Alberto Paltrinieri and his wife Barbara decided to continue the tradition of his grandfather, who founded the company in 1926. And yet to do almost everything in a completely different way.
Nobody dared to press a pure Lambrusco in the late 1980s. Then, a little later, to go one step further and select grapes from individual vineyards, as in the French "Cru" system. The two dared to do so, bet on the extremely delicate and in need of care grape variety Sorbara, and went to almost unbelievable lengths in the slightly hilly country between the two rivers Secchia and Panaro. Working hours like in a Mosel steep slope. To produce Lambrusco. The "bubble" that had just reached the low point of his image. They were called complete nutjobs. Who wants pure Sorbara Lambrusco, and that from a single vineyard? Absurd. You can't earn anything with that.
But quality prevails after all. And so it soon rained awards all the way to the coveted three glasses, the "tre bicchieri" of the famous Italian wine guide Gambero Rosso. It also brought reputation. Not only the Paltrinieris, but the whole region around Cristo di Sorbara. And slowly the wine world at Lambrusco no longer began to think of sweet dark supermarket sparkling wine, but of light, pink and above all dry Lambrusco, just a Sorbara. Fine fruity, with fine mousseux. In different variations, from Charmat pressure tank fermentation to the "Metodo Classico" spumante in bottle fermentation, as in Champagne.
The relaunch was a success that hardly anyone would have believed in. And one of the pioneers was Paltrinieri. The portfolio ranges from Bianco with Trebbiano and white fermented Sorbara to the red Solco from the grape variety Salamino and the pure Sorbara. Lambrusco Sorbara in purezza. Forget everything you've ever heard about Lambrusco! SUPERIORE.DE
