Structured, profound and with an engaging minerality on the long-lasting final. SUPERIORE.DE

This is crunchy in feel and full of mineral tension, with perfumed inner florals over a core of tart green apple. The 2022 finishes with medium length and is nearly salty with a sour citrus concentration that pinches at the cheeks." Vinous

“Capo Martino” Bianco Venezia Giulia IGT 2021
"Our philosophy is rooted in family tradition and closely linked to the border region where we are located. A crossroads of Central European cultures that we have always tried to reflect in our wines. Capo Martino expresses these concepts with elegance, body and complexity. We are highly satisfied with the results achieved and are constantly investing in innovative projects to constantly improve the quality of our wines and achieve new goals." Silvio Jermann
Capo Martino is a highly elegant blend of Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana and Picolit. Wonderful golden yellow colour, complex bouquet with the aroma of ripe, local and tropical fruit, a slight hint of vanilla. Velvety on the palate, with a perfectly balanced flavour and delicate harmony. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright straw yellow with a delicate olive green colour. Initially fine exotic notes on the nose, mango, pineapple, fine hazelnut, cold smoke, inviting, subtle grapefruit on the finish. Very juicy and clear on the palate, with great expression and length, salty final." Falstaff
"The 2021 Capo Martino smells of a pretty mix of wild flowers, crushed nectarines, grapefruit zest and flint. On the palate, it unfolds with an onslaught of minerality, ginger and sour citrus, while liquid flowers and savoury spices combine. A saline note defines the final as the 2021 tapers off lightly textured and dramatically long. This is a fantastic vintage of Capo Martino, which is a single-vineyard blend of indigenous grape varieties." Vinous

Good freshness on the palate, yeasty, with light phenolics and a cool core, currently still very young, still needs to age." Falstaff
"This elegant white is vibrant and inviting, with a sense of finesse as a racy spine of acidity is enmeshed with fruit flavors of melon, kiwi fruit and pink grapefruit glâcée, plus accents of green almond and white blossoms. Spice and mineral notes play on the mouthwatering finish." Wine Spectator
"Lots of tangy fruit with zesty lemon, lime, lemongrass and raw ginger character and a hint of waxy undertones. Medium-bodied, dense and focused, with a frame of fruit and a solid finish. Lots of spices and green fruits as well as fresh herbs such as basil and sage." James Suckling

"Wine should move us, trigger emotions and be authentic," says the Jermann winery, whose bottles can deliver on precisely this promise. What began in Friuli more than 140 years ago with the Austrian winemaker Anton Jermann was continued by his great-grandchild Silvio from the 1970s onwards with a uniquely avant-garde approach.
Even as a young winemaker, Silvio strove to swim against the tide of Italian traditions in order to produce wines according to his own vision and without depending on market trends. During his oenology studies and several trips overseas, he learned very innovative production techniques for the then conservative Italian wine world, which would later enable him to set new quality standards in the Friulian wine scene.
His first white wine blend, "Vintage Tunina", made from Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana and Picolit grapes, ushered in a new era for the Jermann winery - and for Friuli Venezia Giulia as a whole - in which the wines became much more flavourful and aromatic. Silvio Jermann was one of the first winemakers in the region to blend local grape varieties with international ones and, moreover, to dispense with the maturation period in wooden barrels.
In the meantime, his other white wines such as "Capo Martino", "Così Sia", the Chardonnay "W ... Dreams" and the Riesling "Afix" have also become absolute cult wines of the region. The winery from the southern Collio region received the individual award "Best White Wine of the Year" from the wine guide Gambero Rosso in 2018 for its "Capo Martino" 2016. However, Jermann pursues an equally incomparable production philosophy in the red wine sector. Among the most impressive reds of the house are without doubt the autochthonous "Pignacolusse", the Pinot Noir "Red Angel" and the Blaufränkisch "Blau&Blau", which recalls Jermann's Austrian roots.
Goal-oriented and without compromising on quality, Silvio was destined to make a lasting impression in the wine world from the very beginning. To enjoy his well-deserved retirement, the talented winemaker sold some shares in his family business in spring 2021. The new co-owners of one of the most famous and largest wineries in Friuli is now the noble Marchesi Antinori family. The Florentines continue to manage the vineyard area of over 175 hectares, which extends to the main vineyard in Farra d'Isonzo in the province of Gorizia and to the Ruttars vineyard in the paradisiacal Collio DOC area, which Silvio acquired in 2007.
Jermann thus fits ideally into Antinori's international portfolio of unique wineries and will continue to be able to successfully meet the challenges of the times in the form of a family business. Under this excellent leadership, there is no doubt that the Jermann name will continue to produce great wines that can duly represent Friuli and delight the international wine connoisseur world.
