"The 2017 Marciliano shows dark and brooding in the glass, with a mix of blackcurrant, wild herbs and white smoke. The palate is silky and round with a polished feel, while ripe plum and hints of sour cherry give way to tobacco towards the finish. The grippy tannins assert themselves on the finish, but there is a pleasing burst of inner sweetness to balance it out, along with an aftertaste of primary concentration that promises many good things to come with further ageing.
