“Montecitorio” Derthona Timorasso 2018
Walter Massa's single vineyard Timorasso Montecitorio is created through a cold maceration of about 40 hours, a subsequent fermentation of about 12 months in stainless steel tanks under regular batonnage of the yeast for about 12 months.
Timorasso Montecitorio smells of orange confit, petrol, wild flowers and honey. Rich and complex in the glass, it takes on Riesling-like nuances of minerality. After some aeration (or better: further bottle ageing), it reveals countless layers of aromas and a depth that, together with its overall exotic feel and salty notes, make Montecitorio distinctive and great! “Eós” Vino Bianco 2020
Only 2,500 bottles of the debut vintage were filled. Eós, named after the Greek goddess of dawn, is the result of a selection of the best Erbaluce grapes from our own vineyards on the volcanic porphyry soils of Boca. The grapes were pressed slowly with a vertical press (torchio) without being crushed or destemmed (whole bunch press). The juice was then poured into large Slavonian oak barrels, where it was aged on the lees for a year. This was followed by a further year of refinement in the barrel and in the bottle. Eós is rich, complex, creamy, with a long mineral finish and a fresh acidity that keeps it in marvellous harmony. One of the very great and rare white wines of Alto Piemonte. SUPERIORE.DE

“La Court” Barbera Nizza Riserva DOCG 2021
Ruby red with violet reflections. Intense notes of sour cherry, wild berries, chocolate, undergrowth and coffee on the nose. Velvety, structured, full and rich on the palate with dark spices, candied cherries and cocoa, finishing juicy and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Deep dark, rich ruby red colour. Smells of mint, milk chocolate and rich Amarena cherries on the nose, with some earthy tones, elegant and inviting. Great juiciness and acidity on the palate, pronounced, fresh fruit and a tense final with young tannins." Falstaff
"The Michele Chiarlo 2021 Nizza Riserva La Court opens to an inky-dark appearance and very black fruit aromas that give the wine a distinctly powerful impact. It offers a very smooth and texturally enriched mouthfeel with thick padding that covers the entire palate. This is a full-throttle vintage that has produced a big Barbera." Wine Advocate
"The Nizza Riserva LaCourt 2021, Chiarlo's top Barbera, is another great wine. Deep dark fruit, chocolate, leather, dark spices and espresso characterise the palate. This wine is also a real powerhouse." Vinous

Barbaresco DOCG 2018
Bright and radiant, with lots of Nebbiolo character, it is a successful interpretation of the terroir and shows the great class of the winery. On the nose, sweet red cherries, tobacco, mint, anise and white pepper. Medium-bodied and graceful on the palate with a good balance of perfume, acidity and structure. With further bottle ageing, it looks forward to a great evolution. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium-light red; fruity-smoky, also barrel, caramel, rubber, inviting; fruit, medium-bodied, powerful, lots of round tannin, length." Merum
"Sparkling, medium-dense ruby garnet. Inviting, very finely marked nose with pronounced notes of wild raspberry, rosehip and black tea. Substantial, with pithy tannin on the palate, showing lots of pressure, savoury, lingers long." Falstaff
"Straight medium ruby. Perfumed cherry fruit with subtle oak and a hint of cumin. Fresh, supple cherry fruit with a spicy note and firm but ripe and crisp tannins. Great length and juiciness." Jancis Robinson
"A rich, earthy style that evokes aromas of cherry, raspberry, iron and tobacco. Broad tannins announce the finish, but it remains balanced and long." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Barbaresco Pio is noble, elegant and wonderfully polished. Sweet spices, cedar, tobacco, leather and dried cherries open up effortlessly. This graceful, medium-bodied Barbaresco has a lot going for it and is very drinkable from the start. The silky, ethereal qualities of the Nebbiolo are evident." Vinous
"Pio Cesare stands out for its classics, and this wine is one of them. The 2018 Barbaresco (released a year later than its competitors) offers a light ripeness of candied raspberry with lilac, tarry smoke, cedar and spice. The mouthfeel is silky smooth with gently integrated tannins." Wine Advocate
"Strawberries with notes of walnuts, asphalt and bark. Also dried flowers. Full-bodied with fine, racy tannins and a very long, beautiful finish. Fine tannins. Shows excellent length for the vintage." James Suckling
"The Barbaresco of Pio Cesare, always a certainty, from the Treiso and San Rocco sub-areas. On the nose, red currants in jam, with nuances of star anise and rhubarb. The mouthfeel is crisp, dense, with spicy tannins and a fruity finish." Luca Gardini

Barolo DOCG 2018 (BIO)
Ceretto vinifies four masterful site Baroli with the Bricco Rocche, Bussia, Brunate and Prapò. If you cannot decide between these wines, you will find this excellent alternative in the winery's basic Barolo.
Elegant, bright ruby red. Dark intensity with great aromatic richness, including ripe cherry and raspberry, paired with noble spice and gentle use of wood. Fruity and floral notes are followed by traces of iron and a delicate portion of liquorice. The aromas are delicate and fragile, and the wine cleverly hides its power in the soft folds of its slender, medium-weight mouthfeel. Polished and clear on the palate, spreads out with delicate creamy tannins, salty undertones, great length. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby red with light garnet reflections. The nose is light and elegant with notes of cherry, raspberry and blood orange followed by elegant spice. The palate is juicy with a spicy aftertaste. Pleasant length and persistence." Falstaff
"A round red, boasting plum, cherry, mint, iron and tar flavors. The tannins are firm but meld nicely already at this young stage, leaving room for an aftertaste of fruit, savory, earth and mineral notes on the finish." Wine Spectator
"Very floral and attractive already on the nose. Bright and clean fruit on the palate with medium body, dusty and fine tannins and a chewy finish. Solid and age–able. From organically grown grapes. Very well made for the vintage. Best after 2024." James Suckling
"The organic 2018 Barolo falls in line with vintage expectations with a very smooth and silky personality that caresses the palate. Dark rose, cherry and licorice cede to a polished, mid–weight palate." Wine Advocate

Barolo “Briccolina” DOCG 2016
This top Barolo comes from the enchanting Corda della Briccolina parcel in Serralunga d'Alba and is the only one of the estate's impressive Barolo range to be matured in barriques. Garnet red in colour with a beguiling aroma of rose petals, rock candy, caramel and dried fruit. Powerful, solemn on the palate, with present tannins and a long, harmonious finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Nose of black cherries and ripe raspberries. Great intensity on the palate, followed by firm tannins and a long, fresh finish." Decanter
"The Beni di Batasiolo 2016 Barolo Briccolina sources its fruit from Serralunga d'Alba, and you can count on more fruit weight and power as a result. This wine shows a dark garnet red colour with sweet cherry and blackberry nuances. These dark fruit tones are underlined by spices, earthy loam and grilled herbs." Wine Advocate
"Rich and smoky with lots of fruit and toasted oak, but not overdone. Full body, crisp tannins and a juicy finish." James Suckling
"Somewhat dried-vegetable and very slightly iodised aroma of red and black berries with distinct tar. Clear, firm, juicy, polished fruit, fine, youthful, yet present tannin, dried floral nuances, cocoa and a little tobacco, again also tar, persistent, good depth, also coffee in the background, multi-layered, has a certain elegance, very good, firm, again quite juicy finish with bacony and fine spicy nuances." Barolo DOCG 2018
The grapes for the estate's classic Barolo come from the vineyards/communes of Ornato, La Serra, Briccolina in Serralunga d'Alba, Gustava and Garretti in Grinzane Cavour, Roncaglie in La Morra, Ravera in Novello and, from the 2015 vintage, also from Mosconi in Monforte d'Alba. It is more of a traditional, classic Barolo with an exciting bouquet of deep, dark fruit and a pretty potpourri of rose petals, spices, smoke and tar. It is full-bodied and firm on the palate, opening up with plenty of dense tannins, very powerful, with pressure and a full bite on the finish, designed for a long life. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium, warm red colour; red fruity, caramel, coffee-like, leafy, deep, very inviting; round, fine, then dense, warm tannin, caramel, length, pleasing." Merum
"Even the colour is surprisingly transparent and light-coloured. The entry-level Barolo has an open, attractive bouquet with freshly picked cranberries and redcurrants, persimmon, ripe cherries, playful, shimmering, linear and multi-layered. Rather cool than opulent. Very finely woven on the palate, very elegant and almost floating, a finesse piece for elegance drinkers." Weinwisser
"Clearly fleshy-animalic aroma with red berry and fine vegetal flavours, a little dried herbs, a hint of juniper and dried floral traces. Clear, taut, almost cool, tart and juicy fruit, a little cocoa, coffee and allspice, also juniper tones, present, youthful, yet very fine tannins, some bite, persistent, elegant style, very good, juicy and finely spiced finish. A beauty." Wein-Plus
"Bright, radiant ruby red colour. Delicately spicy on the nose, some cherries and raspberries, with a hint of undergrowth, medium expression overall, yet inviting. Polished on the palate, with velvety tannins, already extremely accessible, drinks excellently, salty and radiant on the final." Falstaff
"Brilliant medium ruby red colour. Balsamic nose that slowly rises from the glass. Hints of garden herbs, brooding cherry and cranberry. Still a little tight on the nose, but more approachable on the palate with ripe, supple fruit and plenty of richness without being heavy. Lots of grainy, flavoursome tannins and a fairly firmly structured, fruit-driven finish." Jancis Robinson
"Classic bright garnet red in the glass, the wine focuses on cherry stones with tar, violets, a little camphor and sweet spices. The attack is firm and crisp, with a brilliant crispness on the palate and grainy tannins that carry through to a slightly austere finish. There's a little lack of flesh - a feature of the 2018 vintage - but this is one of the best Barolo from the village this year." Decanter
"Pio Cesare is on a wave of success, producing outstanding Barolo vintage after vintage. This wine is of tremendous intensity and beauty, with fragrant layers of pressed flowers, wild berries, vanilla and spice. It boasts a dark, powerful appearance and firm tannins supported by an excellent quality of fruit." Wine Enthusiast
"The Barolo Pio is once again impressive in 2018. Deep, multi-layered and so expressive, the 2018 offers an unusual elegance right from the start. The dark, mentholated aromas and flavours are fascinating. In 2018, the Barolo Pio also offers a certain depth that is rare in wines of this level. All elements are perfectly balanced. This is a very good vintage for the Pio." Vinous
"The 2018 Barolo opens with ripe aromas of dried plums and tobacco. This vintage lacks some of the complexity of a cooler growing season, but the results are anything but monochromatic. Those tobacco flavours recede to cedar, earth, forest floor and a hint of shaved truffle." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of spicy red cherries on a loamy base, along with savoury notes of forest floor and walnut shells. Also some orange peel. Full-bodied with very fine, firm and silky tannins and lots of long, concentrated fruit and spice flavours. Good structure for 2018, best from 2024." James Suckling

Barbaresco DOCG 2019 (BIO)
Ceretto's entry-level Barbaresco comes from different sites, mostly younger vines from Asili (35%) and the lower part of Bernadot (65%). Bright, elegant ruby red. It has full energy and vivacity and offers excellent persistence and remarkable balance. On the nose, sweet red cherry, mint, pine, liquorice and candied orange peel. Taut and ferruginous on the palate, very juicy, salty, stretches precisely across the tongue, with some pressure, considerable juicy-long finish. After good aeration already impressively accessible when young. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright garnet red with ruby reflections. Intense nose of sour cherry and rosehip, then some leather, tobacco and forest floor, complex. On the palate filigree mouth entry, with soft tannin, harmonious and well balanced, elegant, juicy finish." Falstaff
"This has aromas of oak and toasted nut that come to the forefront while berry and spice stay in the background. Tightly wound and primary, the palate offers raspberry jam, vanilla and licorice alongside close-grained tannins that grip the close. Fresh acidity keeps it bright." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2019 Barbaresco is bright and nicely focused. Crushed red berry fruit, cedar, tobacco and spice are lifted. Veins of supporting tannin and acid give this mid-weight, nervy Barbaresco lovely energy. The 2019 is elegant and also quite promising." Vinous
"The 2019 Barbaresco displays high-toned aromas of sweet raspberries, rose petals and liquorice that anticipates an open-knit palate with clear-cut flavours of crunchy raspberries and redcurrants. Ripe acidity and well-extracted tannins extend the attractively floral and balsamic finish." Decanter
"This is a very firm young Barbaresco with dried strawberry, crunchy fruit and fresh flowers, such as roses. Bitter lemon and tar, too. Full-bodied, chewy and polished. Flavorful finish." James Suckling
"The Ceretto 2019 Barbaresco is an organic wine that paints a clear picture of a beautiful vintage. Tart cherry, white licorice and dusty earth lift from the bouquet and give this wine a sharp sense of focus and intensity. Ceretto has released a superb set of Barbarescos this year, starting with this classic expression." Wine Advocate

“Oltre in Vallo” Grappa invecchiata
Oltre in Vallo - a noble spirit aged for 24 months in oak casks and 6 months in casks of single malt Scotch whisky. It combines the Highlands and Monferrato, because the casks come from the oldest and most renowned distilleries in Scotland: Lagavulin, Caol Ila and Mortlach, which wrote the history of the best Scotch Whisky.
Amber-coloured, soft and mild taste. At the beginning an explosion of flavours rich in dried fruits and almonds, then notes of smoke, peat, malt, tobacco and honey. Very exquisite. SUPERIORE.DE

Barbaresco Ovello Riserva DOCG 2019
The single-vineyard Barbaresco Riserva Ovello is, as always, one of the outstanding wines in this series. It shows the energy and tension so typical of this site, but with a slightly more mature profile than is the norm. Ovello dives straight into the volatile Nebbiolo aromas, with a focus on liquorice, tar, blue flowers and campfire ash. The palate is full-bodied, with flavours of crushed raspberries, juicy Marasca cherries, liquorice and nutmeg as well as firm, tight-knit tannins. The fresh acidity provides tension and balance. Looking at the timeline of Riserva wines, this wine reaches the magical threshold at which Nebbiolo begins to unfold its unique aromatic appeal and mystique ... SUPERIORE.DE
"Floral lightness with a fleshy character and earthy notes of cherries and pomegranates. Firm tannins and crisp acidity on the classic, extract-rich palate, with a massive structure, medium body and juicy finish." James Suckling
"The Barbaresco Riserva Ovello 2019 is powerful, savoury and intensely straightforward in the style of the Ovello Classico, and yet behind its imposing tannins it seems to have enough fruit to develop well over the coming years. In this tasting, the Ovello feels quite closed after bottling, but its inherent balance and qualities are there. Clean savoury notes extend the finish in a promising way." Vinous
"Round and supple, this red wine shows flavours of cherry, raspberry, rose, iron and menthol. Although well-structured, it finishes with a bloom of red fruit and energy. All the elements are there, so give it a few years to integrate." Wine Spectator
"The Produttori del Barbaresco 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Ovello is a tighter wine with more elegant mineral definition. However, this wine is not as accessible and remains a little shy or closed at this young stage in its life. The tannins are well managed that naturally delivers more richness and concentration. It needs a little more time to shed that nervous tension." Wine Advocate
"A perfect mixed garden, with aromas of upturned earth, harvest-ripe blackberries, fragrant herbs and warmed raspberries sitting in their pool, making their way in and out of the glass. Spicy aromas of mixed herbs, tobacco and liquorice root open the palate, while flavours of cherry and cornberry flash with fresh acidity against a backdrop of elegant and taut tannins." Limitation of 6 articles per customerBarbaresco Pajè Riserva DOCG 2019
Pajé is a small vineyard near the village of Barbaresco, whose calcareous soils generally produce bright and floral wines and this wine fulfils this expectation in an impressive way, combined with an already remarkable density, which it only gradually reveals. On the nose, it shows intensity and purity, with penetrating aromas of red fruits. The attack is supple, bright but weighty and very focussed. The lively acidity lends tension and persistence to the finish. Already tantalising today, but with the unclouded prospect of further positive surprises! SUPERIORE.DE
"The Barbaresco Riserva Pajè 2019 is full of character. Strong mineral, spicy and floral notes jump out of the glass before tannin veins make themselves felt on the palate. The Pajè is a powerful, young Barbaresco that will need a few more years to develop. Nevertheless, all of its characteristics are very present." Vinous
"Plenty of fruit character on the nose with dried cherries and potpourri. The tannins linger on the palate, with a medium body, refreshing acidity and warming alcohol. Focused with liquorice notes on the finish." James Suckling
"This elegant and expressive red wine with aromas of roses, strawberries and cherries is harmonious and charming. Mineral and wild herb flavours add notes of grace to the wine, while the finish lingers with a blend of fruit and minerality." Wine Spectator
"The Pajé always represents the lively, sparkling wine within Produttori's Riserva range. This vintage remains true to this, albeit with a slightly darker note on the nose. Aromas of crushed raspberries mingle with black cherries, fresh bay leaf and sweet spice. At first sip, the head spins with delight as wild berries, dried roses and sage quickly emerge, tamed by fine tannins and a lively acidity that acts more as a leader, inviting all to wait a little longer to show their merits." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Pajè reveals a medium-dark appearance with purple and redcurrants, heritage rose and spicy cardamom. A pretty note of iron ore or metallic mineral is folded within. Pajè brings us an accessible profile with silky, resolved tannins." Wine Advocate

Limitation of 6 articles per customerBarbaresco Pora Riserva DOCG 2019
Pora overwhelms with incredible complexity and a variety of aromas ranging from stone fruit, raspberries and liquorice to dried flowers, spices and white truffle. Despite all its lush fruit, the Pora has a good structural foundation. Juicy notes of dark cherries, plums, espresso, menthol and liquorice unfold in this forward, wonderfully inviting Riserva from the Produttori. The wine overflows with flavours, but its lean and polished personality continues on the palate. Multi-layered, exciting and still quite youthfully austere today, it needs a few years to relax and develop. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Pora is still a fairly tight-knit wine, certainly more so than is typical of this Barbaresco, which is often much more inviting in the early stages. Dried herbs, tobacco, cedar and earthiness give this decidedly dark Pora a remarkable savoury nuance. It has good fruit intensity and plenty of character." Vinous
"Attractive notes of redcurrants and cherries with hints of cedar, walnuts and crushed stones. Juicy with bright fruit and firm, chalky tannins. Medium to full-bodied. The finish is long-lasting and slightly viscous with notes of bitter orange." James Suckling
"Full of cherry, strawberry, rose, stone and spice flavours, this tight-knit red wine is both open and muscular, with refined tannins that come through on the finish. Broad and intense, with plenty of energy on the finish." Wine Spectator
"The Produtori del Barbaresco 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Pora represents a classic vintage. This results in medium-plus concentration and a velvety texture. The bouquet shows blackberry, spice and sweet earth. This is a pretty wine with some grit to the tannins but otherwise shows a soft and accessible personality. More oxidative in character, this is great for near or medium-term drinking." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of sandalwood, rosewood and plums lead the nose of this Barbaresco. As the wine develops, notes of violets and dark spices emerge. There is a certain seriousness on the palate. The dark fruits stand firm, while savoury flavours fill out the ranks. The tannins are firm but not overpowering, yet remain taut and polished." Wine Enthusiast

Barolo Le Coste di Monforte from the top 2019 vintage is extremely beguiling in the glass. Rose petals, cedar wood, mint, sweet pipe tobacco and blood orange are the first flavours to open up. It is deep and complex on the palate and exceptionally beautiful and harmonious for a young Barolo. Time in the glass brings out its countless nuances. SUPERIORE.DE
"Monforte d'Alba. Brilliant medium ruby red colour with orange reflections. Concentrated, perfumed nose of red fruits, sweet cherry fruit on the palate, with a layer of sandy tannins. A beautiful wine that needs more time. It certainly has what it takes to age further." Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Pecchenino Barolo Le Coste di Monforte displays a smoky character with campfire ash and roasted spices. At its core, the wine shows dark fruits and plums that come together to form a medium-thick texture. It has the structural dynamism of the vintage with a more open and approachable side that can be drunk over the medium term." Wine Advocate
"Tar and roses with freshly cut plums and some cherries. Medium body with racy tannins that are chewy. Juicy underneath." James Suckling
"A beam of pure cherry anchors this rich, fleshy red. Strawberry, iron, tobacco, wild thyme and rosemary flavors chime in, all supported by a line of dusty tannins." Wine Spectator

Barolo Bussia DOCG 2019
Bussia 2019 is a powerful, intense wine that shows great depth and intensity, with a powerful tannin that gives the wine its masculine, virile personality. Notes of black cherry, wood smoke, liquorice, leather, menthol, pine, scorched earth and pebbles unfold in the glass. Although it is already very expressive, it still needs some time in the bottle so that the tannins can calm down a little. Nevertheless, it is already impressive and represents the 2019 Piedmontese wine year in a great way. SUPERIORE.DE
"Quite light red; reductive, undergrowth, arouses curiosity, with aeration also raspberries, very nice; round approach, fine, then a lot, nice tannin, depth and length, very nice Barolo." (JLF) Merum
"Juicy and chewy with liquorice, sweet berries and cedar with a hint of asphalt. It is medium-bodied. Spicy on the finish." James Suckling
"When tasted about three weeks after bottling, the Pecchenino 2019 Barolo Bussia shows a beautiful ruby red colour that glows in the glass. There is a subtle note of candied cherry or fragrant rose, but once this disappears, the wine returns to characteristic Nebbiolo flavours of tar, liquorice and blood orange. Bussia offers a classic sequence of flavours, elegantly enhanced by the added intensity and concentration of the 2019 vintage." Wine Advocate

Barolo “Le Coste di Monforte” DOCG 2020
Of the three Baroli from Pecchenino, Le Coste di Monforte shows the greatest focus and the greatest spiciness. Compared to this wine, the other two wines are significantly softer in their aromatic focus. Its fruit comes from a vineyard of just under one hectare at an altitude of 450 metres. Le Coste di Monforte offers dark fruits, balsamic herbs, spices, campfire ash and ferruginous earth in beautifully balanced proportions. This wine has a long maceration period of 60 days (at 28 degrees Celsius), which is concluded with 36 months of ageing in oak barrels. This gives the wine its rich flavour profile. SUPERIORE.DE
"Still closed, muted nose. Super juicy in the mouth, finely contoured fruit, slightly woody touch that resonates, salty style in the finesse-rich finish. Will need time." Weinwisser
"The Pecchenino 2020 Barolo Le Coste di Monforte delivers the pronounced mineral signature of pulverized stone that you often find in wines from the village of Monforte d'Alba. This expression also shows hot-vintage fruit that lands on the sweet side of the spectrum with almond paste and spice. You don't get the floral fragrances often present in Nebbiolo." Wine Advocate
"Vibrant and fresh, red forest berries leap from the glass, intermingled with an abundance of baking spices and a hint of vanilla, accentuated by the fresh herbal quality of crushed leaves. The wine has well-structured tannins and presents itself on the palate with earthy, spicy nuances and dark tones. Its good structure suggests that it is both immediately appealing and has potential for ageing." Wine Enthusiast
"Ripe cherries and raspberries with notes of chocolate, dried orange peel and a hint of sandalwood. Firm but bright and juicy with lively acidity that drives the energy. Medium to full-bodied. Lively and chalky on the finish." James Suckling

Barbaresco Rio Sordo Riserva DOCG 2019
Rio Sordo Riserva is particularly dense, rich and balanced. On the nose we find roses, spices and raspberries. Very complex on the palate, with marvellous depth and juiciness. Rio Sordo offers a taut and sharp fruit on the nose, which is rounded off with some tannin and crispness on the finish. The floral notes that develop with good aeration or further ageing in the bottle through to the final make this Barbaresco Riserva irresistible even at a young age. SUPERIORE.DE
"Blackish ruby red colour. Sweet, albeit somewhat restrained nose. Powerful on the palate with plenty of tannin and liquorice. Dry finish. Very promising!" Jancis Robinson
"The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Rio Sordo is quite profound in this vintage, with remarkable depth in its dark-toned fruit. This is a particularly powerful Rio Sordo that is still emerging. Its intensity is palpable, even if I see less of the finesse that I associate with wines from this site. Today, all the energy of the wine is directed inwards." Vinous
"This red wine begins opulently with aromas of cherry, raspberry, mint and iron before the powerful tannins gain the upper hand in the mid-palate and characterise the long, gripping finish. Nevertheless, it remains lively and long, it just needs time to break down its tannins." Wine Spectator
"Bright ruby red colour with a surprisingly restrained character and floral lightness. Very elegant, with flavours of liquorice, sweet violet, minerals, cherry stones and peach skin. Over this layered complexity, the wine is firm, with still dusty tannins, but velvety and ripe. A viscous finish is balanced by a full body and crisp acidity. Delicious." James Suckling
"This is a rich wine with dark fruit flavors that extend over a linear and tight approach. You notice the depth and complexity of the fruit and the fine chalky tannins." Wine Advocate

Barolo Garretti is a wine from the slopes of the La Spinetta estate in Grinzane Cavour. These grapes were previously used in Barolo Campé. It is bold, racy and super-expressive. Juicy dark cherry, lavender, spices, menthol, red flowers, liquorice and French oak come together in this creamy, racy wine from La Spinetta. Garretti captures all the richness and pedigree of the vintage in a forward, juicy style that is sure to find many admirers. This is a particularly strong vintage for this wine, even if it needs another year in the bottle to soften the powerful tannins. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Barolo Vigneto Garretti is a plump, juicy Barolo that will delight La Spinetta fans. A burst of dark red/purple fruit, herbs, flowers, vanillin and sweet oak makes a strong first impression. Soft contours give it immediacy and charm. The 2020 is very nicely made." Vinous
"Accessible and subdued, the La Spinetta 2020 Barolo Garretti sources its fruit from the village of Grinzane Cavour. It reveals a medium-rich texture with moderate definition and a mild bouquet layered with black fruits, spice and earth. There's a pretty note of dark maraschino cherry on the finish that hints at the warm growing conditions of the 2020 vintage." Wine Advocate
"This wine has beautiful ripe fruit, with rich plum and peach fruit on the nose, but also hazelnut, orange and bread crust. It is full-bodied, creamy and structured with melt-in-the-mouth tannins. Delicious finish." James Suckling

Barolo “Pisapola” DOCG 2016
Pisapola from the vineyard of the same name in the municipality of Verduno offers a beautiful richness of texture and an impressive softness. This wine is open and honest, with an approachable style that highlights red cherries, undergrowth, wild berries and roses in a very harmonious way. The tannin is precisely measured, and on the finish, its harmony and balance are again inspiring. Not a powerhouse, it brings out the character and elegance of this great Nebbiolo site all the more amiably and authentically. SUPERIORE.DE
"Tasted blind. Medium ruby red with orange reflections. Compact and still reserved nose with a hint of Moroccan leather. Supple and generous palate that doesn't quite open up yet. Polished, chewy tannins that taste of liquorice. Long, but needs more time in the bottle to reveal its hidden depths." Jancis Robinson
"The 2016 Barolo Pisapola is the most airy and perfumed wine in this range. Crushed flowers, mint, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco and red berry fruit grace this finely meshed, medium-bodied Barolo. The 2016 is understated, stylish and very pretty." Vinous
"Enticing aromas of macerated cherry, licorice, leather and spice greet the senses, with sweet fruit, licorice, tobacco and spice flavors. Balanced and open, this is will be approachable soon, yet also has the structure to age." Wine Spectator
"The Ascheri 2016 Barolo Pisapola is the most immediate and approachable wine from Matteo Ascheri's series of single-vineyard wines, which makes perfect sense given the geologically younger Tortonian marl and Messinian limestone of the site. The Pisapola site is in Verduno and the wine shows a loose, thin texture characteristic of this subzone. The bouquet is subtle and elegant, although the overall intensity of the wine is lower compared to some of the better-known comuni or villages in the Barolo appellation. It offers a mild structure and a silky finish." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of roses, wild berries, scrub and new leather characterise the elegant nose. The savoury palate mirrors the nose, with ripe Marasca cherry, liquorice, menthol and a mineral note reminiscent of rusty nails. Taut, fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity give support, while a hint of game signals the finish." Wine Enthusiast

Barbaresco Muncagota Riserva DOCG 2019
Muncagota is rich, deep and super-expressive every year, hitting all the right notes. Black cherry, plum, spice, leather and liquorice emerge, but all very hesitantly and with plenty of aeration, better: with further bottle ageing. Muncagota is one of the examples from the famous series of nine Riserve that clearly needs time. And you should give it time, and the patient will be richly rewarded. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Barbaresco Riserva Muncagota 2019 is developing into a great wine. The 2019 is characterised by a very clear brightness that is not always present. The Muncagota is medium-bodied and graceful, with excellent balance, and is very impressive in this first tasting of the 2019 Riservas. It could prove to be one of the surprises in this range. Keep an eye on it." Vinous
"Aromas of raspberries and wild berries with hints of graphite, tea leaves and cocoa. Medium bodied with a polished and silky mid palate that finishes with a firm and chewy aftertaste. Overall it is fresh and lively." James Suckling
"The nose opens with aromas of dried cranberry and redcurrant, mingling in a bowl of aniseed, cloves and freshly cut herbs. Firm and structured with a lifted freshness that cuts across the palate. On the palate, it translates the flavours perfectly, with a hint of crushed stone adding another layer to this wine that needs a stay in the cellar." Wine Enthusiast
"A smooth, high-toned red wine with aromas and flavours of roses, strawberries, cherries, minerals and wild herbs. Straightforward in profile and racy, it builds beautifully to a long, complex aftertaste. Overall very balanced, with finesse and intensity." Wine Spectator
"Showing depth and a profound character, the Produttori del Barbaresco 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Muncagota pulls back initially and is a little shy in terms of its first wave of aromas. Give it a few minutes and the wine opens to delicate tones of tart cherry, blackcurrant and soft earth. It offers lasting freshness over a silky, medium-plus mouthfeel." Wine Advocate

The cru sites Liste, Terlo, Baudana, Gabutti, Ravera di Monforte and Mosconi are the origins of the grapes for the terrificVia Nuova. It is a monumental, exciting wine that combines the best that the vintage had to offer. Explosive in the glass, with breathtaking aromatic depth, it is stunningly beautiful from the first sip. Dark macerated cherry, lavender, spice, menthol and rose petals are enhanced by the underlying acidity and tannin that give the wine its energy and drive. Via Nuova is a wine of exceptional harmony, purity and finesse with an everlasting finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Shiny, lightening garnet red, light rim. Exceedingly fragrant nose of fresh roses, lots of raspberry and strawberry, a little candyfloss. Polished, finely meshed tannin, red berry fruit, tobacco on the final." Falstaff
"Fascinating aromatic complexity that keeps your nose hovering over the glass. Raspberries with ginger biscuits, flowers and a twist of basil. There’s a deeper layer of crushed goji berries and talc-like minerals, too. Full, intense, silky and dainty with well-integrated tannins that even add a chocolatey touch. So tempting to drink now, but better from 2024." James Suckling
"The 2018 Barolo Via Nuova is marked by palpable brightness and tension that lend energy. Like all of these wines, the 2018 is restrained in feel, but all the elements are so well balanced. Freshly cut flowers, mint, crushed rocks, chalk and white pepper give the Via Nuova notable energy. Intense veins of supporting tannin and minerality provide the backbone." Vinous
"This is an organic blend of fruit from six MGA sites: Terlo and Liste (in Barolo), Ravera di Monforte and Mosconi (in Monforte d’Alba) and Gabutti and Baudana (in Serralunga d’Alba). The 2018 Barolo Via Nuova is fermented in steel and aged in oak according to time-tested local tradition. This mid-weight blended Barolo has a more prominent herbal or balsam signature at the back of red and purple fruits, licorice and pressed violet." Wine Advocate
