“Fides Vigna Mosconi” Barbera d’Alba Superiore DOC 2021 · MAGNUM in OWC
Barbera d'Alba Superiore Fides from the famous Mosconi vineyard offers a very nuanced bouquet characterised by blackberry, black cherry, cassis and plum on the one hand and pronounced mineral notes on the other. Fides offers a dark concentration and a soft, intense texture. Lavender, mint and sweet floral notes give it additional vigour and make it one of the best single-vineyard Barberas in Piedmont every year. SUPERIORE.DE
"Fruit for this wine is sourced from an excellent site in Monforte d'Alba. The Pio Cesare 2021 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Vigna Mosconi Fides is dark in color and rich and concentration. The wine offers a soft texture with plenty of dark fruit and blackberry. Those bleed nicely into sweet spice and light toast over a full-bodied finish." Wine Advocate

Barolo Margheria DOCG 2020
"The Barolo DOCG Margheria comes from the calcareous soil with a slightly higher proportion of sand than in our other sub-areas, which has a strong influence on its character. It was produced for the first time in 1985 and has great ageing potential. The grapes come from our vineyard in the MGA Margheria in Serralunga d'Alba." Franco Massolino
Barolo Margheria is very refined and elegant, but also classically austere, like so many top wines of the 2019 vintage. Bright red berry fruits, wild flowers, mint, blood orange, rose petals and cinnamon adorn this very beautiful, nuanced Barolo. Margheria is medium-bodied, and despite its austerity, it is very pretty, not to mention incredibly inviting. It will be even better in a few years when the tannins soften. SUPERIORE.DE
"Rich garnet red colour with a fine shimmer. Presents itself on the nose with notes of graphite and salt varnish, then rose petals and raspberry. Full-bodied and dense on the palate, expands powerfully, then a little rough on the final." Falstaff
"Beautiful shiny medium ruby red colour. Firm, serious, mineral bouquet, cherry with notes of oatmeal and iodine. Multi-layered. Juicy, compact cherry with spectacular, crunchy tannins. Great, tactile fruit finish and fantastically balanced." Jancis Robinson
"The Barolo Margheria 2020 is a very beautiful wine that shows the softer side of the year. Dried herbs, menthol, incense, new leather and liquorice take shape in the glass. The 2020 is a soft, atypically open Margheria that is easy to drink with minimal cellaring time." Vinous
"This Barolo from Margheria is a stunning expression of elegance, with captivating, high-toned fruit and delicate hints of strawberry. The palate is refined and graceful, with fine-grained tannins and delicious acidity enhancing the pure, precise flavours. This wine is a true embodiment of finesse and an outstanding example of the potential of this cru." Wine Enthusiast
"This ripe red wine is characterised by aromas of cherry, raspberry, plum and eucalyptus, with a hint of liquorice and iron. It firms up in the mid-palate, leaving a compact but complex finish that reflects the fruity and spicy notes." Wine Spectator
"I like the freshness and lively red-fruity character. Medium-bodied with firm, slightly chewy tannins. It is compact and structured with an exciting and lively aftertaste. Vibrant and bright, with hibiscus undertones in the orange and berry flavours. Try it from 2027, but it's already very nice now." James Suckling
"The Massolino 2020 Barolo Margheria is a classic expression. You get all those pretty Serralunga d'Alba elements with dark fruit, ferrous earth, orange peel and blue flower. I find this warm vintage to be especially fine-textured and elegant. There is a note of sweet cherry on the close. This bottle needs to flesh out with more cellar time." Wine Advocate

Limitation of 3 articles per customerBarolo Cerretta DOCG 2019
Barolo Cerretta is a dense, concentrated and energetic expression of Nebbiolo. Red and purple fruit flavours of cassis, dried cranberries and cherries set beautiful accents, but there is also plenty of room for the equally beautiful aromas of liquorice, campfire ash and candied orange peel that play such a deft supporting role. On the palate, it is a brilliant, polished wine with enough tannin to allow it to mature in the cellar for another 10 or 20 years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Classic, delicate colour with an orange rim. It has a youthful nose, fragrant and delicate, with some marzipan and nutty sweetness, less intense than in 2018. With a beautiful juicy style, it presents itself dense and clear on the palate, broad, very harmonious and classically tannic, less fruity than expected. Rather, it appears like a masculine Serralunga with a firm handshake and shows a dense tannic flavour on the finish, very long and balanced." Weinwisser
"Concentrated and delicately perfumed at the same time. Raspberry fruit with a hint of orange. Juicy raspberry fruit on the palate with plenty of supple acidity and beautiful, enveloping tannins that absorb the lush fruit. Complete." Jancis Robinson
"Bright ruby-garnet colour with a shiny core. Deep nose, earth and iron, delicate herbal notes, very subtle hints of raspberry, appears cool, like cold wax. Very full-bodied on the palate, with pronounced, tightly woven tannins, present, long final, juicy on candied oranges." Falstaff
"The Barolo Cerretta 2019 is soft, delicate and noble. Dried rose petals, cinnamon, blood orange, mint and dried flowers complete the layers. This effortless, multi-layered Barolo opens up beautifully with a little time in the glass. It has a wonderful resonance and plenty of class." Vinous
"Baked strawberries and pink flowers on the nose, scented fruity, floral and herbal - lifted and full of aromatic intensity. Supple and charming from the start, intensely juicy - the acidity adds a tangy, sharp note to the cherries and raspberries, while the tannins coat the mouth with a fine powder and support the red berry fruit. Round, generous, bright and really well delineated, you can feel the sinew of this wine, it has muscle but is soft and moulded. A core of savoury minerality, wet stones and olives give the wine a spicy balance and add complexity and interest. A beautiful, elegant glass of wine with nuance." Decanter

"Enchanting perfume of raspberries and herbs, enveloped by chaste violet notes; pithy attack, robust tannins, long finish. Pleasing with its verve." Vinum
"Sparkling, medium-dense ruby garnet colour. Opens with notes of ripe plums, some dark bread crust, truffle and wild raspberry. Compact, present tannin in many layers, interspersed with sweet melting, firm pressure, full-bodied in the final." Falstaff
"Palish ruby. Spice, dark earth and minerally, salty notes over deep raspberry fruit. Impressive depth on the palate while the fruit is still a little backward. Very long with lots of supple acidity and a long grip of super-fine grainy tannins." Jancis Robinson
"Enticing aromas of cinnamon-dusted cedar and sandalwood intertwine with dried cherries, rose petals, and a hint of sage. This full-bodied wine boasts a firm structure, while the palate reveals blackberry and plum flavors. The chewy texture and intricate aromatics create a captivating and memorable experience that makes this wine worth the search." Wine Enthusiast
"The Giovanni Rosso 2020 Barolo Cerretta, with fruit from Serralunga d'Alba, is quite generous and ripe, owing to sunny vintage conditions. It opens to a dark ruby color and pretty concentration with perfumes that are fine and elegant; they recall lavender, wild berry, plum and rusty nail. The Cerretta vineyard delivers a lingering sense of sweetness, and that becomes a signature for this wine. These results are immediate and up front." Wine Advocate
"Davide Rosso’s 2020 Barolo Cerretta is laced with sweet dark cherry, spice, lavender, cedar, pipe tobacco and dried herbs. Medium in body, with compelling sweetness and inner perfume, the 2020 has much to recommend it. Readers will find an especially open Barolo that is typical of this sector in Serralunga, where the wines are a bit more forward and less potent than those from vineyards closer to the center of town. This is beautifully done." Vinous
"Pale ruby with a dark, complex and vibrant nose of prunes, roses, violets, balsamic, licorice and restrained peach peel. On the palate this is concentrated, with a full body, firm yet ripe tannins and crisp acidity. Overall more powerful than elegant, but very refined in the finish. It could use a bit more depth, but with bottle aging it will increase in complexity." James Suckling

“Ai Suma” Barbera d’Asti DOCG 2021
Ai Suma offers great balance and tension. Intense ruby red with garnet-coloured reflections. There is a lot of black fruit on the nose and on the palate, along with spices, tar and leather. The wine ends with a hint of sweetness, but the natural acidity of the grape comes through to add a pinch of freshness at the end, emphasising the class of this wine. Full-bodied, powerful, full of character, but at the same time elegant, harmonious and very persistent - every year a Barbera in a class of its own. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium, transparent ruby red colour with garnet reflections. Very intensely fruity and spicy nose of ripe cherries and plums, liquorice and toasted notes, with hints of leather and dark chocolate. Juicy and fruity on the palate, very harmonious with a good tannin structure and a long final." Falstaff
"A spiced and earthy red with a medium to full body, firm tannins and rich, exuberant fruit character. It goes deep in dark cherries, plums, ground spices, cocoa and smoked cedar. Tight and lingering." James Suckling
"Plum, blackberry, chocolate, spicy pipe tobacco and earth flavors mark this dense, muscular red. Compact and burly on the finish for now, where a bitter almond note emerges. This improved with air, so decant now or age for a few more years." Wine Spectator
"The Ai Suma, a rare gem made only in the most exceptional vintages, is a paradox in a glass. This opaque late-harvest Barbera may seem imposing, but it's a bear hug of a wine, with blackberry compote, dried violets, star anise and fresh vanilla melding together in harmony. Lush and mouth-filling, it's a powerhouse with restraint, thanks to well-structured tannins and lifting acidity." Wine Enthusiast

Barolo Parafada DOCG 2020
"The Barolo DOCG Parafada is perfect for long ageing and surprising development. Elegant, refined, austere. Vinified in vats, matured in large barrels. Made with Nebbiolo grapes from our vineyard in the MGA Parafada in Serralunga d'Alba." Franco Massolino
Barolo Parafada is fabulous. The natural richness of this site blends with transparency and class to produce a weightless yet powerful, highly nuanced Barolo that hits all the right notes. On the nose, dark cherry, lavender, spices, mint, rose petals and liquorice. And on the palate, it is the interplay of richness and lightness that elevates the Parafada to the realm of the truly sublime. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Barolo Parafada 2020 is a delicate, concentrated wine. Bright red fruits, mint, white pepper and crushed herbs are all nicely delineated. This medium-bodied Barolo has class and is very approachable now, but it needs time to show its best side." Vinous
"This Barolo enchants with a captivating blend of herbal notes that include dried thyme, rosemary and a hint of mint. Tart red fruits, such as sour cherry and redcurrant, intertwine with tantalising spices such as cinnamon and clove. The palate is generous and round, offering ample flavours of ripe red berries, fresh herbs and a subtle earthiness reminiscent of damp forest floor. Pleasant, well-integrated tannins provide structure, while the harmonious balance between herbal elements, fruit and earth creates a truly beautiful expression of Nebbiolo." Wine Enthusiast
"A blend of bright cherry and raspberry fruit, eucalyptus, menthol, iron and tobacco heralds this structured yet juicy red wine. Expressive, with the potential to mature. Shows fine balance, complexity and length." Wine Spectator
"Notes of dried raspberries, cherries, dried orange peel and ground spices. Some tar. Medium-bodied, structured and firm, with polished tannins. I like the energy and length of this wine. Round and refined with a bright finish. Very well made." James Suckling
"The 2020 Barolo Parafada is an exceptional wine that doles out elegant tones of iron, rusty metal, blood orange and lavender. The high alcohol content presents a small distraction, but otherwise this wine is very tight, supple and almost glossy in texture." Wine Advocate

Limitation of 2 articles per customerBarolo Parussi DOCG 2020
"For the Barolo DOCG Parussi, we left the confines of Serralunga and opted for a vineyard in Castiglione Falletto. Thanks to the characteristics of Nebbiolo, which is perfectly capable of capturing the differences in microclimate and soil composition and translating them into sensations, the result amazed us. Structured, important, austere. Made with Nebbiolo grapes from our vineyard in the MGA Parussi in Castiglione Falletto." Franco Massolino
Parussi is the most open-hearted and fruity Barolo in Massolino's collection. It has a striking immediacy and sweetness in the mid-palate. Juicy red and violet berries, spices and mint combine in the glass. On the palate, Parussi is silky, floral and medium-bodied, displaying all the sensuality typical of Castiglione Falletto's Barolos. Best of all, Parussi can be drunk much earlier than the wines from Serralunga. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby-garnet colour. Very appealing and open nose with notes of pomegranate, cherries and raspberries. Grippy tannins enveloped by fine melting, builds up very well over the course, firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"Brilliant medium ruby red colour. Still quite closed and more spicy than fruity. The palate is much more open with lush, supple, fresh fruit and gripping tannins on the finish. Pretty great." Jancis Robinson
"A lively bouquet of tart red cherries, juicy raspberries and delicate purple petals greets your senses when you discover this Barolo. On the palate, a solid fruit core is complemented by well-structured tannins that promise a fascinating development. This harmonious interplay of lively acidity and depth demonstrates the fascination of Nebbiolo." Wine Enthusiast
"The Barolo Parussi 2020 is an elegant, nuanced wine. It shows lovely textural depth and resonance, but in the mid-weight style of the year. Dark red cherry, lavender, rose petal, mint and spice all build beautifully and fill out the layers effortlessly. The 2020 is weightless and elegant, with the understated textural depth that is so typical of this vintage." Vinous
"Vibrant red fruit with subtle floral and citrus notes and a hint of crushed stones. Medium-bodied with firm tannins. Structured and focused with a lingering, expanding aftertaste. Impressive density. Taste after two to three years." James Suckling
"The 2020 Barolo Parussi is a stunner. The wine is radiant and bright with an especially direct and focused quality. I would describe it as razor-sharp. This adds to a general sense of fine polish and tightness. I can't get enough and I can't wait to see where it goes 10 or 20 years from now." Wine Advocate

Limitation of 3 articles per customerBarolo “Via Nuova” DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Every year, Barolo Via Nuova proves anew why the blending of several vineyards was the favoured method of Barolo producers until the 1960s, when the fascination with single-vineyard wines began. Its grapes come from the Liste, Terlo, Baudana, Gabutti, Ravera di Monforte and Mosconi cru sites.
And certainly the old days were not so bad: silky and fragrant and with exceptional balance, Via Nuova is a real eye-catcher. On the palate, it has plenty of volume and power with beautiful mineral tones that stand proudly above the dark fruit, cassis and wild roses. A mineral, salty note on the finish, which together with the wonderful acidity gives it freshness and great potential. Wonderful balance and convincing in every respect! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling ruby with a fine garnet rim. Seductive nose with lots of sweet fruit of raspberries and plums, some liquorice in the background. Firm, gripping tannins characterise the palate, juicy and with good tension." Falstaff
"A rich, ripe style, boasting cherry, raspberry, iron, tobacco, herb and spice flavors. This is dense, with aggressive tannins tipping the balance slightly in their favor, yet remains long and full of fruit to the end, with fine length." Wine Spectator
"Barolo Via Nuova 2020 opens with a little more dark fruit and ripe berries in this vintage. The wine is a small package of flavours from all sides. There is orange peel, bright cherries and fragrant spring flowers. There are hints of herbs, tar, violets and chalky minerals. The tannins are finely honed and soft." Wine Advocate
"The Barolo Via Nuova 2020 is outstanding. It clearly benefits from a blend of several vineyard sites. Dark cherry, gravel, spice, menthol, liquorice and dried herbs are all present in this powerful, structured Barolo. As always, the blend includes Paiagallo, Liste, Terlo, Gabutti, Baudana, Ravera di Monforte and Mosconi - an approach that works very well. This is an outstanding achievement by Chiara Boschis." Vinous
"Bright and complex nose with excellent depth and complexity. Expect fresh strawberries, white pepper, stones, fine herbs, chalk and even a hint of mezcal. The palate is broad and savoury with fine, chalky tannins that drive it to a long and luscious finish." James Suckling
"On the nose, notes of sour cherry and liquorice root, complemented by hints of eucalyptus and star anise. The sip returns to black fruits and balsamic notes, with a finish of spicy flavours." Luca Gardini

The great Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra from the historic Clerico vineyard. Bright garnet red. Open-hearted bouquet of ripe fruit and spices, the elegant tannins are accompanied by a pleasant freshness in the complex taste, deep and long on the finish. SUPERIORE.DE
"Clear, firm and deep, multi-layered, slightly juniper red and black berry scent with dried herb notes, some tobacco, dried rose petals, a little tobacco and mineral nuances. Ripe, dense, juicy fruit, some cocoa and coffee spicy wood, present, very fine tannin and some acid bite, smoky and dried meaty hints, a little leather, persistent, good depth, again distinct minerality, ethereal, mainly peppery and juniper spice, lots of power but also polish, very good to long, firm, juicy and spicy finish, again with polish." Wein-Plus
"Bright ruby garnet, medium density. Appealing, intense nose with rich notes of raspberry, prune and peach, rhubarb in the background. Lots of fine-mesh tannin on the attack, coated in sweet melting, builds well, juicy fruit." Falstaff
"Great purity on the nose, with beautifully integrated oak and spicy-sweet cherry fruit. Compact, fruity palate with lots of juice and grainy tannins built like a house. Fantastic length, focus and energy." Jancis Robinson
"Super concentrated and super focused red berry and oak vanilla character on the nose. Medium-bodied with very fine, firm tannin. The deep, pristine core of fruit pushes through. Give it time to balance itself out." James Suckling
"The 2018 Barolo Ginestra Ciabot Mentin from Domenico Clerico, one of Piedmont's iconic producers, offers stunning complexity with a fine mesh of aromas ranging from black and purple fruits to rusty nails, candied orange peel and liquorice. Barolo Ravera “Bricco Pernice” DOCG 2017
Dark cherries, menthol, flowers and tar are just some of the classic notes in the complex bouquet of the Bricco Pernice from the Ravera single vineyard. On the palate, the austere structure and great power are joined by a fine inner sweetness. In the long finish, memories of damp earth, dried herbs and wild flowers. SUPERIORE.DE
"Lustrous mid ruby with orange tinges. A little rich on the nose but not lacking in precision and showing great depth. Still not completely open. Brooding but with aeration becomes more floral and perfumed. Mouth-filling juicy fruit with polished, fine, almost velvety tannins. Closes up on the finish but showing impeccable balance. Outstanding for the vintage." Jancis Robinson
"Deep-set nose of bright, spicy cherry with layers of minerals, from chalk to river stones. Medium-to full-bodied with really nicely placed, still firm tannins and excellent spicy and mineral drive on the finish. There’s a cool feel to the palate. This is in the full bloom of youth and, though attractive now, will age nicely. Try from 2024." James Suckling
"This is a medium-bodied Nebbiolo from a hot vintage with a ruby-tinged appearance. The 2017 Barolo Ravera Bricco Pernice shows generous inner fiber and richness with dried cherry, blackberry, plum and dark spice. Fruit for this wine comes from a beautiful amphitheater of vines with the perched town of Novello high up on the skyline. I love the especially smooth and soft quality to what is a powerful and lasting wine. Only 3,500 bottles were made." Wine Advocate
"A pretty red, boasting rose, strawberry and raspberry flavors accented by mown hay, leather, iron and tobacco. In terms of texture and structure, this is like an iron fist in a velvet glove. Fine length." Wine Spectator
"The 2017 Barolo Bricco Pernice is superb. Silky and soft, with gorgeous textural finesse, the 2017 is all class right out of the gate. Hints of rose petal, orange zest, cinnamon and star anise meld into sweet red cherry and raspberry fruit. The 2017 can be enjoyed now or cellared. It's a gorgeous, gorgeous wine in every way." Vinous
"Defying the heat of the scorching vintage, this fragrant red has aromas of iris, violet, wild berry, leather and eucalyptus. On the full-bodied, delicious palate, fresh acidity and firm, fine-grained tannins support dried cherry, nutmeg and licorice before a tobacco finish." Wine Enthusiast

Barbaresco “Currá" DOCG 2013
Garnet red with delicate violet reflections. Currá 2013 is initially archaic and unapproachable. With time and oxygen it reveals dark berries and a fine chocolate note. In his style he is rather angular, but does not deny his greatness and harmony at any point. Tobacco, plums, smoke and tobacco: with every glass this exceptional wine reveals new facets and a firework of impressions. So Nebbiolo goes from 65 years old vines at the highest level! SUPERIORE.DE
"A fresh, cherry-, mineral- and tar-flavored red whose great structure provides support. Elements of underbrush and earth come into play on the lingering finish." Wine Spectator
"The 2013 Barbaresco Currá offers a savory side that is seamlessly juxtaposed against a plump fruity side. Those two halves paint a pretty picture of this unusual and slightly cooler vintage. The wine shows power and a great sense of forward thrust or momentum that will serve it well as it ages in your cellar. The 1.5-hectare vineyard is planted to 65-year-old vines in the Neive subzone." Wine Advocate
"A rich, explosive wine, the 2013 Barbaresco Currà possesses remarkable depth, intensity and power. Dark cherry, smoke, leather, spice and savory herb nuances saturate the palate in an explosive, full-throttle Barbaresco. Readers will have to be patient, as the 2013 is going to need at least several years in bottle to fully come around. A final blast of exotic, perfumed aromatics makes it very hard to move onto the next wine." Antonio Galloni

Barolo Serra DOCG 2020
Davide Rosso's Barolo Serra is bright and vivid in flavour. Lively acids and tannins give it a marvellous, translucent energy. On the palate, this enormously linear and lively Barolo shows orange peel, crushed stones, mint and cinnamon. Powerful and rich with excellent tannin management, suggesting increasing suppleness and elegance with further bottle ageing. SUPERIORE.DE
"The bouquet is spicy with aromas of forest fruits, truffles and flowers; the finely chiselled tannins and acidity in perfect balance, the finish on notes of ripe fruit, spices and leather." Vinum
"Bright, medium-dense ruby-garnet colour. Fragrant nose of preserved peach, pomegranate and raspberry, some smoke in the background. Firm, gripping tannins, underpinned by sweet melting, but still needs to come together." Falstaff
"The Barolo Serra 2020 is a nervous, taut Serralunga Barolo. White pepper, chalk, mint, dried flowers, crushed rock and orange peel permeate a core of red fruit, adding brightness and tension. harvestwho like tense Barolos will find plenty of these qualities here. Pretty floral overtones brighten the finish in a pleasant way." Vinous
"A very pale ruby colour is supported by a complex, multi-layered nose of rhubarb, earthy strawberries, redcurrants, violets and cinnamon. The palate is full of sucrose and shows good concentration, medium body, refreshing acidity, finely tuned dusty tannins and a polished finish. Cherry stone and floral aftertaste. A stylish wine with ageing potential, but also ready to drink." James Suckling
"The Giovanni Rosso 2020 Barolo Serra comes from a beautiful panoramic amphitheater of vines. This wine has an etched and vertical quality that you recognize in its lifted bouquet. Sweet cherry and plum are folded into riper aromas of blackberry coulis and raspberry tart. The tannins are quite elegant and firm, and the wine offers very good length and lasting freshness." Limitation of 2 articles per customerBarolo Mosconi DOCG 2020 (BIO)
Chiara's Barolo from the Mosconi single vineyard of the same name is powerful, muscular and full of opulence. Rich, bright ruby red colour. Rich aromas of eucalyptus, wild rosemary, plum and black cherry. Deep and powerful on the palate with beautiful spicy accents, dense tannins and a very juicy structure. For us, this Barolo belongs in the top class of the appellation, it always carries its great weight with maximum elegance and is highly authentic, completely in the style of Chiara Boschis, who has once again delivered something really great here. Please leave it in the cellar for a few more years! SUPERIORE.DE
"Stately reception on notes of pomegranate and undergrowth, spiced up with aromas of dried flowers; the tannins are full of character and well integrated, the acidity accentuated: A well-fitting wine with finesse and style." Vinum
"Rich ruby colour with a slight garnet shimmer. Opens with notes of tea, plums and raspberries, some rosewood and incense. Grippy, well-placed tannins on the palate, emphasised earthy notes, firm pressure on the final." Falstaff
"Though clearly focused on its cherry, raspberry and plum fruit flavors, this red also boasts savory elements of eucalyptus and woodsy underbrush. Well-endowed, with dense, dusty tannins that shape the compact finish." Wine Spectator
"Barolo Mosconi 2020 is a powerful, flavoursome wine. Black cherry, gravel, incense, menthol and liquorice all build in this virile, taut Monforte Barolo. The 2020 has a lot to offer, it's big and powerful. Spicy herbs, earthy notes and powerful minerals permeate the powerful finish. Outstanding." Vinous
"Mosconi 2020 has something of the special ripeness of the vintage with cherry cream syrup, grenadine, watermelon sweets and a drop of pastis. The wine finishes powerfully with a balanced combination of fruit and fine oak tannins. It is very lively on the palate and the fruit is very vibrant at this young stage." Wine Advocate
"Flavours of dried oysters and intriguing wet stones with a hint of lovely peppercorn funk to the cherries, hibiscus and plums. Broad and compact on the palate with a full body and plump morello cherries in the centre. Quite extensive and long, but transparent. Even more powerful than her exciting Cannubi from this vintage." James Suckling
"A Barolo of great olfactory and flavour significance. Notes of blackcurrant, a hint of undergrowth, white pepper and citrus notes, nuances of clementine. The mouthfeel is savoury, with a spicy return and floral notes." Luca Gardini

Limitation of 6 articles per customerBarolo Ginestra “Pajana” DOCG 2019
Pajana - most modern wine of the entire Clerico range - presents itself closed, compressed and with great potential. Rich ruby with a light garnet rim. Compact nose, showing rich notes of blackberry, dark cherries, a little cinchona bark in the background. Explodes literally on the palate, lots of ripe, present fruit, then opens up with lots of fine-meshed tannin, salty depth, rich pressure. SUPERIORE.DE
"This Barolo features eloquent strawberry, cherry, currant and rose aromas and flavors. Gains depth from earth, wild herb and mineral accents, while the harmony and aftertaste are impressive. Resonates on the finish, remaining persistent and elegant." Wine Spectator
"The Pajana vineyard, planted between 1971 and 1991, is slightly lower than Ciabot Mentin and faces southeast. This 2019 is full of restraint: dill and liquorice are to the fore, then fresh violets and cherry with citrus freshness. It's firm and extracted, with powerful, dusty tannins and a refreshing acidity that balances the warming alcohol. It will develop well." Decanter
"The Domenico Clerico 2019 Barolo Ginestra Pajana shows a more open first impression with soft black fruits. The wine shows greater impact in terms of texture with firm structure and silky tannins. It is a little more open and approachable." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of raspberries, cherries and orange peel lead into a medium to full body, with firm and very fine tannins that are chewy but fine-grained. The acidity is also strong. Try it after 2027." James Suckling
"Notes of wild plums and rhubarb on the nose, a hint of mint from the Aosta Valley, nutmeg notes on the finish. Dense, compact mouthfeel, salty-spicy tannins, finishes with a fruity-mental aftertaste." Luca Gardini

“La Crena” Barbera d’Asti DOCG 2018 · MAGNUM in OWC
The extremely complex Barbera d'Asti La Crena comes from vines up to 90 years old in the heart of the Nizza Monferrato region and smells of ripe red fruits, hay and pastries. The full-bodied, warm taste lingers long with plenty of dark fruit, well-proportioned acidity and fine cocoa tones. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Vietti 2018 Barbera d'Asti La Crena sees its fruit sourced from very old vines with some of the plants approaching the 100-year-old mark. This is a rich and darkly concentrated wine with a lovely bouquet that is lifted and bright. The wine reveals dark cherry fruit, raw blackberry and plum. That opulent, old-vine fruit drowns out much of the acidic sharpness of the grape." Wine Advocate
"The 2018 Barbera d'Asti La Crena is a powerful, tightly wound wine. Readers should be in no rush here. In 2019, La Crena is a bit reticent and less opulent than it can be, but then again, this is a wine that only blossoms with a few years in bottle. Inky dark fruit, gravel, smoke, crushed rocks, spice and lavender open with air, but only reluctantly. The 2018 will be a jewel for those who can wait." Vinous

Ginestra is a large and beautiful vineyard site in Monforte d'Alba, bathed in morning light and offering a panoramic view of the castle of Serralunga d'Alba. The flagship wine of the house with great personality and balance. The bouquet is multi-layered and multi-dimensional with dark purple, balsamic fruit on the one hand and impressive notes of spices, tar and tobacco on the other. In the glass, the Sori Ginestra is characterised by a pronounced, strong backbone of taut tannins and an acidity that leaves nothing to be desired for this cru in terms of structure, completeness and longevity. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Conterno Fantino 2020 Barolo Ginestra Vigna Sorì Ginestra has notes of perfumed oak spice, pine cones, liquorice root, pastis, root beer, plump cherry fruit, baked ripeness and wild mint on the finish. This is a generous, complex and well-structured Barolo. The oak impression is particularly strong at this young stage and the wine needs more time in the bottle." Wine Advocate
"Saturated with cherry, plum, iron, tar, menthol, tobacco and spice aromas and flavors, this powerful and complex red is defined by a vibrant structure, showing vivid acidity and energetic tannins. The finish brings nice closure as all of the components gather together." Wine Spectator
"The Barolo Ginestra 2020 Vigna Sorì Ginestra combines finesse with power, as can be the case with the best vineyards here. Crushed flowers, orange peel, spices, mint, white pepper and tobacco give it a remarkable aromatic presence. The 2020 starts light, then explodes in the middle of the palate and on the finish, showing remarkable structural depth and finesse." Vinous
"Generous oak spices are in great harmony with the rich fruit and agile structure of this classic, memorable Barolo. Tantalising aromas of cedar, cinnamon, iodine and sour cherry combine with warm red cherries, cranberries and chalky mineral notes on an appropriately tannic texture. Best from 2030." James Suckling

“Solea” Bianco Langhe DOC 2020
Solea is a white wine that is not only unique in Piedmont. Chardonnay and Nebbiolo (vinified white) - from the hand of Luca Roagna, this is an elegant and independent answer to the great white wines of Burgundy. Herbal bouquet with a smoky note, paired with fine citrus, pear and apple notes. Before you forget to take your nose out of the glass, indulge in the palate-filling aromas: Yellow fruits, plus a delicate nutty almond note and delicate creamy tones of the truly refined use of wood make this great white dance on the palate, swinging and carrying it into a terrificfinish. Impatient people enjoy immediately, wise connoisseurs put a few bottles in a safe place for a few years. SUPERIORE.DE
"The 2020 Solea is Roagna's unique blend of Chardonnay and Nebbiolo vinified off the skins, as a white wine. Sweet floral notes give the bouquet lovely breadth. Soft and caressing, the Solea is super-expressive today. It's an intriguing Piedmontese dry white with pretty aromatics, lovely orchard fruit character and fine balance, with a distinct kick of Nebbiolo structure that frames the finish. I know of no other wine like it. I would prefer to drink this over the next few years. It strikes me as best suited to starters and lighter fare. " Vinous

“L’Insieme” VdT s.a. (2020) · MAGNUM in gift box
"L'Insieme" is a small but concrete project of eco-solidarity. Just seven winegrowers from the Langhe have come together to support concrete solidarity projects every year with a part of the yield. The members include Elio Altare, Gianfranco Alessandria, Giuliano Corino, Federico Grasso, Giulio e Paolo Morando, Lorenzo Revello and Mauro Veglio. Under the label of the same name (L'Insieme: together, together, together), the wine producers support solidarity projects all over the world with 5.16 euros per bottled wine.
In the past years, L'Insieme donated over half a million euros to forty-two different projects. Today they donate about 60,000 euros a year. Whether it is building a childcare facility for single mothers in Alba, funding the development of schools in Kenya or improving hiking trails along the Tanaro River, the goal is to support national and international communities.
The deep dark L'Insieme combines the typical grapes of the Langa (Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto) with the racy spiciness of the Cabernet. A wine with a firm, powerful structure, harmoniously rounded tannins, a delicate melt and a beautiful finish. SUPERIORE.DE

Translucent purple colour with a fresh, garnet-red rim. The bouquet is a potpourri of dried fruit, truffles, dark chocolate and delicate nougat notes. Opens on the palate with a fruity, velvety flavour and will continue to delight for many years to come with its straightforwardness and wonderfully integrated acidity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Straight, medium ruby red colour. Mineral and stony notes over slumbering raspberry fruit. Embryonic fruit on the palate with a firm core of tannins. Elegant yet with a certain power." Jancis Robinson
"Incense, warm spices and liquorice roots dance with savoury and dried roses, forcing you to look twice at this Barbaresco. High-toned red berry fruit plays a supporting role to the seductive savoury and spice flavours that add a mysterious accent. The fullness of the mouth reveals macerated black cherries, crushed pepper, crushed bay leaf and dried porcini mushrooms. The initially assertive tannins soften and emphasise the elegance of the wine." Wine Enthusiast
"With notes of macerated cherries and kirsch, this exuberant red wine offers an abundance of red fruits, rosehips, eucalyptus and light tar flavours. It firms up nicely and leaves a chalky feel on the long finish. It offers a refined texture, with great harmony and intensity." Wine Spectator
"The Sottimano 2021 Barbaresco Fausoni delivers more oomph and texture thanks to clay and sandy soils that definitely make the difference. In terms of aromas, this wine is quite floral and delicate with citrusy oils, dates, tamarind and lavender. The tannins are elegant and chalky." Wine Advocate
"The Barbaresco Fausoni 2021 is a wine for those who appreciate the more straightforward, old-school Nebbiolo style. Chalk, white pepper, mint, tobacco, cedar, blood orange and sweet red cherry fruit race across the palate. The 2021 won't be ready anytime soon, but it's an absolutely outstanding wine in the making." Vinous

Barbaresco “Basarin” DOCG 2021
Do you know the Basarin vineyard near Neive? You can expect a bright ruby-garnet colour and a wine from a particularly fine vintage: the bouquet is a cornucopia of wild sour cherry aromas, herbs, a little liquorice and tobacco. Firm and very clearly structured on the palate, muscular and yet with an elegance that never loses control due to its power. Basarin is a highly energetic and precise Nebbiolo that only reveals its complexity with a little patience and aeration. The neighbouring Neive terroir reveals itself with distinguished elegance and blends harmoniously with the volume and weight typical of the site - and with a depth that only vines over 50 years old can produce. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Barbaresco Basarin 2021 is a dense, rich wine. Preserved cherry, plum, lavender, rose petals, spices and new leather are recognisable. The natural intensity of the vintage is expressed in this decidedly dark, intense Barbaresco. However, the return to super-classic winemaking balances things out nicely. I expect the Basarin to be the most approachable of these 2021s." Vinous
"This Barbaresco opens with a seductive nose that stimulates the senses. Hints of spiced wild berries, smoked black tea, crushed dried leaves and baking spices swirl in the glass, while delicate floral notes further ensnare the senses. Elegant and refined, but with a classic Nebbiolo structure that highlights flavours of dried cherries along with wild thyme and bay leaf, which combine on the palate with the hurried acidity on the finish." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2021 Barbaresco Basarin is expressive and complex with very precise aromas of cassis, navel orange, pulverized stone and licorice root. The tannins are chalky, and the wine offers a pretty sense of lingering sweetness. Winemaking is traditional, with up to three months of submerged cap and aging in botti. Fruit comes from a three-hectare site in Neive with old vines on white soils." Wine Advocate

Barolo “Vigna Ped” Mosconi DOCG 2020
Impressive, very complex aroma of tar, smoke, liquorice, scorched earth, dark fruits and pebbles. With some aeration, dark, rich red fruits, exotic spices and smoked bacon. Very virile, dark and muscular on the palate, with an exciting contrast of austerity and extract sweetness. The opulence and intensity of the flavours and the still monumental tannins give an idea of what a great red with a strong personality is maturing here in the bottle. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Conterno Fantino 2020 Barolo Mosconi Vigna Ped has aromas of brandied cherries, Luxardo cherry liqueur, oak toast, liquorice and dark rye. This Barolo is relatively dense in texture, with good intensity, chalky tannins and enough fruit to stand up to the tannins. The fruit comes from a one-hectare site with a combination of sand, silt and clay." Wine Advocate
"Well-defined flavors of cherry, raspberry, rose and wild herbs are the hallmarks of this elegant yet firmly structured red. There's a mineral undercurrent and a crisp, persistent aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"This exceptional wine is deep and sombre, packed with mineral, floral and savoury notes that will blossom with time. It shows iron, iodine and rose petals on the nose, then supple tannins wrap around cranberry, bitter orange and sour cherry. Best from 2028." James Suckling
"The 2020 Barolo Mosconi Vigna Ped is the most powerful and tannic of these wines, but it retains the mid-weight signature of the vintage and the more nuanced style that is the norm at Conterno-Fantino these days. On the palate, the 2020 is dark, lush and broad, offering a beguiling mix of dark fruits, leather, tobacco, incense, liquorice and dried herbs. The 2020 is a complex, dynamic wine that is constantly changing in the glass. It should offer exceptional drinking pleasure over the next 15-20 years. This is a classic Mosconi." Vinous

Barbaresco “Pajoré" DOCG 2021
The Sottimano winery has five vineyard sites, with the Pajoré site near Treiso having the poorest soil of all. These wines are therefore more elegant and mature. Pajoré is a super-classic, explosive wine, endowed with enormous depth and character. Although it has plenty of breadth and texture, it remains light on its feet. Lavender, mint, liquorice and purple berry fruit are beguiling and wonderfully vibrant in the glass. Pajorè is a spicy, elegant and sweet Nebbiolo that is fine yet covers the mouth well - and we are always impressed by its lovely savoury mouthfeel. SUPERIORE.DE
"Just under medium ruby red in colour. Salty and savoury, the minerals leap from the glass, with hints of Moroccan leather and raspberry. Lots of soft, ripe red fruit on the palate with a firm structure. It needs at least another year in the bottle, even if the fruit suggests that it is already ripe. Very long and the tannins still need to settle." Jancis Robinson
"A floral and fruity journey of discovery awaits you with every sip of this enchanting wine. Tantalising aromas whisk you away to a garden in bloom, where fresh wild cherries play amidst swirling rose petals and fragrant herbs. On the palate, ripe red fruits combine with sweet spices, fine tannins and a lively acidity that keeps every sip lively and balanced." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2021 Barbaresco Pajorè is a wild, exotic wine that combines the intensity of the vintage with plenty of classic structure. It is rich and full-bodied, but the Pajorè is quite closed today, as it almost always is at this stage. Sage, lavender, menthol, liquorice and a whole range of balsamic influences lead to a strong, brooding finish." Vinous
"Pajoré tends to produce austere wines with an etched mineral note and without the glossy softness you can get in some of the other parcels. This pretty wine has a ferrous or metallic note coupled with crushed mineral. These shape an angular, almost cubist personality. However, you also get tart cassis and crushed peppercorn. The wine is indeed more austere, and this bodes well for a long aging window. The tannins are grippy and tight." Wine Advocate
