Barbaresco Asili DOCG 2020 (BIO) · MAGNUM in OWC
Ceretto's Barbaresco Asili (approx. 4,000 bottles) is the clearest and most complete of the winery's impressive Barbaresco collection. It reveals a fine sweetness of cherries and redcurrants on the nose, followed by an extremely silky and fine texture on the palate. Following on from the bright berry fruit, its bouquet reveals subtle notes of gravel and delicate, salty flavours. Overall, an accessible and highly elegant approach with great freshness, fine tannins and great ageing potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Aromas of black cherries and dried flowers flow along the top of the glass as notes of earth, truffle and incense swirl below. Elegant but firm tannins, with the first sip showing savory flavors of black tea and herbs macerating with wild red fruits that linger for what seems like ages." Wine Enthusiast
"Extremely spicy with rose stems, orange peel and a few pieces of cedar wood. Full-bodied, very chewy tannins. Almost leathery. Becomes mineral and icy. Needs time to soften. Better after 2026." James Suckling
"The Barbaresco Asili 2020 is quite simply a textbook Asili. Fragrant and silky, with tremendous purity of fruit and class, the 2020 is so impressive. All the elements are so well balanced in a Barbaresco that impresses with its pedigree. A long, beautifully persistent finish rounds things off in style." Vinous
"The Ceretto 2020 Barbaresco Asili (a certified organic wine) shows aromas of violet fruits, especially summer plums and some blackcurrant. The wine opens in a dark garnet red colour with the advantage of the beautiful transparency that comes with Nebbiolo. The Asili seems to have a little more fruit weight and vigour in this warm vintage." Wine Advocate
"If there is one MGA that benefits from the volume of the 2020 vintage, it is the Asili, known for its lean, pure elegance. Parma violet is enveloped in watermelon fruit, leafy lightness and a base of spices among smoky woods, liquorice and roots. The lush fruit on the palate is carried by crisp acidity and dense, silky tannins, with a grippy, youthful finish, drenched in a tangy blood orange aftertaste. A very elegant Asili with volume. A great wine." Decanter

Barolo “Campè" Riserva DOCG 2007 · MAGNUM in OWC
La Spinetta's Riserva from the Barolo single vineyard Campè is filled only in the best vintages and is sold exclusively in Magnum bottles. Bright bright red. In the nose a fascinating and constantly changing variety of, among others, liquorice, pipe tobacco, black fruits, cassis, tar, rose hip and dried herbs. On the palate with beguiling sweet, dark red fruit, in addition again fine notes of tobacco and herbal spice. Its silky, fine-grained tannins are precisely formed to carry the wine for many years to come. SUPERIORE.DE
"I tasted some beautiful Barbarescos before this sample, but the power and the vigor of the Barolo appellation comes through with undeniable clarity here. The 2007 Barolo Riserva Campè Vürsù (Magnum) is a wine of muscle, brawn and fortitude. It shows more textural tightness and density than the Barbarescos of the same vintage (also in magnum) that are softer and more streamlined in comparison. This gorgeous bottle opens to dark fruit, black currant, spice, cola and earthy truffle. Ultimately, this wine's most memorable quality is the velvety, tightly-knit nature of its mouthfeel." Barolo “Villero” Riserva DOCG 2016 · 0,75l in gift box
An unrivalled powerhouse and at the same time of a unique beauty and finesse. Villero (only produced in the best vintages) is an overwhelming interpretation of the otherwise rather austere Nebbiolo grape, which here displays a kaleidoscope of life and vigour.
Dark leather, dried rose petals, then candied fruit and dried herbs play together with a subtle minerality to create a symphony concerto that is guaranteed to leave a lasting memory. The interplay of fruit density and structure is simply captivating. Time in the glass brings out a whole range of exotic red fruits, blood orange and floral nuances, together with a large amount of well-dosed tannin. All the elements that make up the great totality of the wine have been carefully delineated, nuanced and brought to a very elegant and beautiful common denominator. Meditation meets supreme pleasure! SUPERIORE.DE
"This wild and untamed Barolo demands attention, as the nose is dominated by tart redcurrants and fresh green herbs, while sour cherries and unripe raspberries hint at its untamed nature. On the palate, tart cranberries, wild strawberries and holly transport you to a wild forest, while the fine, well-integrated tannins provide a seamless structure." Wine Enthusiast
"The Barolo Riserva Villero 2016 is a dense, full-bodied wine. Black cherry, plum, liquorice, leather and incense contribute to an impression of brooding, virile intensity. We must be patient, as the 2016 clearly needs time." Vinous
"This is a very complex Barolo. Reserved at first, it then shows stylish aromas of rhubarb, potpourri, dried cherries, red currants, stony minerality and whiffs of leather and prunes. Full-bodied with tension, good concentration and firm, dusty, yet ripe tannins. Restrained blood orange aftertaste, with acidity that carries the high-flying finish." James Suckling
"Complex aromas and flavours of cherries, raspberries, roses, wild herbs, stony minerals and autumnal woods are the hallmarks of this elegant red wine, which gradually reveals all its facets and is nevertheless structured. The long finish leaves a chalky sensation of refined tannins." Wine Spectator

Complex and multi-layered classic from the old master of Nebbiolo from Piedmont. On the nose cedar, plum, red fruits, undergrowth and some rose scent. Balanced, spicy taste, the tannins firm and the finish precise and long. This muscular monument of a red wine definitely needs a few more years of bottle ageing, with a little patience it will transform into pure elegance! SUPERIORE.DE
"Tart, firm, tobacco, rose-scented and reminiscent of dried leaves, also a hint of cedar, with restrained red berry aromas, a little black berries, dried flowers and earthy tones. Firm and tart-juicy in the mouth, nutty, dried floral and slightly tarry aromas, present, ripe, rather fine tannin, persistent on the palate, rather concentrated, yet for all its power also fine and elegant, relatively bright style, ethereal nuances, a hint of truffle in the background, earthy-salty mineral tones, a hint of coffee grounds in the background, complex, still undeveloped, quite deep, again a hint of tar, very good to long, juicy, finely spicy, complex aromatic finish. Still needs a bit of time, even if it already has plenty of charm now." Wein-Plus
"Sparkling, brightening ruby garnet. Very clear and present nose with distinct notes of fresh plums, pomegranate and rhubarb, balanced. Exceedingly polished on the palate, lots of fine-meshed tannin, spreads out clearly and continuously, juicy fruit, salty on the final." Falstaff
"The 2018 Barbaresco has really come together nicely since I last tasted it. A super-classic wine, the 2018 offers up soaring aromatics, mid-weight structure and fine balance. Pure, transparent and impeccable in its balance, the 2018 is just sublime today. Time has been so beneficial here. Crushed red berry, spice, mint and rose petal grave this effusive, refined Barbaresco from Gaja." Vinous
"This red is beautifully defined by the purity of its cherry fruit, accented by floral, strawberry and mint. Juicy and graceful, with a line of moderate tannins on the extended finish." Wine Spectator
"The Gaja 2018 Barbaresco is a wine of grace and purpose, with an elegant bouquet and a more powerful palate presence. These recent releases from the venerated house of Gaja are some of the most transparent and honest expressions to be found anywhere in the Langa. Some of the flashiness we saw in the past is today replaced by subtle Nebbiolo nuances and finesse, with crushed flowers, coriander, wild berry, smoke, tar and candied orange peel. This shift in character runs parallel to the slow and careful management transition from an older generation to a younger one. This 2018 vintage comes alive in the mouth, thanks to its balanced acidity and the absolutely bright and pristine quality of fruit delivered with such care." Wine Advocate
"In 2018 Gaja did not produce any Sorì. All the grapes of San Lorenzo and Tildin have been used for this Barbaresco instead. 'It was a classic vintage, similar to 1991 or 1993,' said Rossana Gaja, 'however with 14% of alcohol.' It was cool and damp, so don't look for concentration, but the refinement and the freshness of this wine packs a punch. Scents of red berries, fresh violets, orange peel, wet slate and soft chocolate are followed by red fruit flavours. It's medium-bodied, loaded with polished tannins and lit up by racy acidity. More stylish than ageworthy, in my experience classic vintages such as this can give stunning results in the near term." Decanter
"Aromas of ripe strawberries with hazelnuts, blood oranges and some coconut. Full-bodied with very refined and polished tannins that nicely form this young red wine. Fresh and delicious aftertaste of berry, cedar, bark and dark chocolate. Ever so subtle, yet powerful and driven at the finish. Very long and intense. Very classical style to it and cooler. This is a blend of seven vineyards including the Costa Russi and Sori Tilden. Approachable now, but better after 2025 and onwards." James Suckling

Barbaresco “Costa Russi” DOP 2017
Sparkling, medium dense ruby garnet. Barbaresco Costa Russi with a fruity-spicy bouquet and a well-integrated wood note. On the palate very powerful, superbly structured and with an ethereal expression of dark fruit, smoke, licorice, tar and menthol. And then the final that literally lasts an eternity. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright ruby garnet. Fragrant and engaging nose, notes of blood orange, fresh raspberry and rose petals. Juicy and substantial on the palate, spreads out richly, then opens up with plenty of grippy tannin, lots of pressure on the final, but also still slightly drying." Falstaff
"The 2017 Barbaresco Costa Russi is gorgeous. Dark, layered and wonderfully inviting, the Costa Russi expresses the restrained style of the vintage and yet has terrific depth. Black cherry, plum, mocha, spice, leather and star anise build as this sumptuous, classically mid-weight Barbaresco shows of all of its pedigree. The 2017 is a lighter Costa Russi, there is no doubt about that, but this is also the most complete of the three single vineyard Barbarescos." Vinous
"A pretty red with ripe-cherry, strawberry and floral aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied and very tight with a creamy, polished palate that goes on for minutes. Very fine and polished tannins. Give this two or three years to come more together." James Suckling

Sparkling rich ruby with garnet reflections. Powerful, compact and masculine on the nose with tar, some liquorice and lots of ripe fruit. On the palate wonderfully silky, very dense tannin, rich multi-layered taste and endlessly long. Promises enormous development potential. SUPERIORE.DE
"Tasted blind. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Full, ripe yet fine nose with plenty of depth. Succulent and elegant palate with generous, sweet-sour cherry fruit and truly animating, crunchy tannins." Jancis Robinson
"A rich, heady wine, the 2017 Barbaresco Sorì San Lorenzo packs a serious punch. Macerated dark cherry, plum, espresso, licorice, dried herbs and spice all build in a potent, rich Barbaresco endowed with tremendous depth and brooding power." Vinous
"This is generally the most austere of the three Gaja single-vineyard wines, and it has also been described as 'wilder'. In this vintage the nose does seem to have more weight than Sori Tildin, with rich raspberry and cherry aromas. It's sumptuous, full-bodied and concentrated, with considerable density and weight. Despite its youthful chewiness, it's still polished and balanced, with a very long finish." Decanter
"The aromas of fresh rose petals are amazing with strawberries and citrus underneath. Full-bodied and layered with a complete, very linear and long finish. It turns tight and very serious at the end. Please give this at least five years to show it’s potential." James Suckling

Barolo “Sperss” DOCG 2019
Brilliant, rich ruby colour with a slight garnet hue. Fantastic and memorable nose, incredibly dense, aromas of hazelnuts, leather and ripe wild raspberries. Superb on the palate, lots of compact, dense tannins, coated in sweet enamel, multi-layered and dense, builds for a long time, with a finish of plums and liquorice. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant medium ruby red colour. Compact and fairly closed on the nose, with salty, mineral notes. A deep layer of spices and liquorice wood reveals itself with air. Complex, but still quite closed. Elegant weight on the palate, combined with fine, gravelly tannins and crisp, youthful red berry fruit. Long, precise and cool. Finesse and power." Jancis Robinson
"Bright ruby garnet colour with a light rim. Initially somewhat closed, with pronounced mineral components, then lots of raspberry, rich dark rose petals, lots of fresh plum. Very precisely defined fruit on the palate, extremely polished tannins, with a distinctly salty finish." Falstaff
"A muscular red that combines flavours of juniper, sandalwood and tomato leaf with cherries, strawberries, iron and tar, while powerful tannins set the stage for a long, intoxicating finish. Beauty and the beast in one." Wine Spectator
"Very well integrated tannins that spread out on the palate and give the wine tension and shape. Medium to full body. Powerful and juicy. Needs time to mellow." James Suckling
"This Barolo is a powerhouse from Serralunga that leaps from the glass with aromas of dark cherry, raspberry jam, truffle, star anise and fresh wildflowers. A study in power and elegance, the wine is full of firm and refined tannins, while elegant flavours of plums, dried herbs and pressed roses decorate the palate." Wine Enthusiast
"The 2019 Barolo Sperss is a wine of stature and greatness and pure Serralunga power. Dark fruit, lavender, liquorice, gravel and crushed rock rise from the glass. It has plenty of the brooding intensity and powerful tannin that are so characteristic, but the 2019 is also wonderfully refined." Vinous
"This wine offers a delicate embroidery of earth, crushed rose, rusty nail and dark currant. The Gaja 2019 Barolo Sperss also has hints of smoke or camphor ash, and the entire wine is very polished and seamless with underripe dark fruit or sottobosco (undergrowth) that carries through to the end." Barolo Torriglione DOCG 2016 · MAGNUM in OWC
The Torriglione vineyard is a stone's throw away from Annunziata and the Barolo vineyard of the same name is not only released two years later than the other crus of the estate, but is also bottled exclusively in magnums. It first reveals its very own character with a noble reserve and reticence, and its density and complexity only give a flavour of what awaits Barolo lovers after a few minutes of aeration. Everything is in its place here and there is more than enough of it: freshness, fruit, acidity, tannin, and all of it paired with a finesse that is unrivalled and that one would rather expect to find in Burgundy or on the Etna. A wine that is undoubtedly one of those that you absolutely have to drink at least once in your life! SUPERIORE.DE
"A monolith for Roberto Voerzio: multi-faceted and spicy on the nose, beguiling dark fruit flavours; very vinous and drinkable on the palate despite all its power, the elegant final. Only available in large formats, including 857 Magnum." Vinum

Barolo “Aleste” DOCG 2020 · Double MAGNUM in OWC
"This is our flagship wine, a Barolo recognised the world over, which we have always nourished and cared for with greatest respect. Nothing will change. This is why I will dedicate this special wine to my grandchildren Alessia and Stefano. From now on, it will carry their names." Luciano Sandrone on his intention to rename his world-famous Barolo Cannubi Boschis "Aleste" with the 2013 vintage. This Barolo is a masterpiece from Luciano Sandrone in every respect. Not only a historic product but also the only cru of the house from the renowned Cannubi area in Barolo. Rich ruby colour, balsamic bouquet, ripe and sweet. Great suppleness on the palate, lots of fruit, dense tannins, very persistent final with Burgundian elegance. SUPERIORE.DE
"Brilliant ruby colour with a fine garnet shimmer. Opens with notes of plums, rose petals and pickled peach. Polished on the palate, shows layers of tannin, juicy strawberry fruit, flows calmly, very elegant and long." Falstaff
"This wine captivates with aromas of oil-infused rose petals and Maresca cherries overlaid with notes of incense that rise from the glass. The palate is intense, dark and rich, offering a mouth-filling experience of dark plums and an abundance of mixed sweet spices accompanied by dried bay leaves and black tea. The wine finishes with elegant tannins and a powerful acidity." Wine Enthusiast
"This red wine shows broad flavours of cherry, plum, tar, eucalyptus and sweet spices, with an accent of liquorice. It walks a fine line between power and elegance, with a well-integrated structure, refined tannins and a racy, resonant finish." Wine Spectator
"The Barolo Aleste 2020 is a noble, elegant wine that is easy to drink right from the start. Black cherry, plum, mocha, liquorice and dark spices resonate beautifully. Soft and juicy, with silky tannins, the 2020 Aleste is an absolute charmer." Vinous
"The 2020 Barolo Aleste is multi-layered with sweet earth and drunken cherry. It shows seamless integration and a crescendo of intensity that starts with ripe fruit and moves into oak elements, liquorice, spice and balanced acidity. This wine has a beautiful mouthfeel, with length and complexity. The Aleste is made from the fruit of Cannubi Boschis in the commune of Barolo. This is the full programme." Wine Advocate
"Aromas of cherries and hibiscus with hints of tar and dried flowers such as roses. Full-bodied and complex, with lots of juicy and rich fruit that shows the warmth of the vintage but is framed by creamy and chewy tannins that give it shape and intensity. A very serious and structured 2020." James Suckling

The grapes of UnoPerUno come from the cru vineyards Arborina in La Morra, Cannubi in Barolo, Pernanno in Castiglione Falletto, Sarmassa in Barolo and Cerretta in Serralunga d'Alba and are individually destemmed. As a result of this intensive manual work, only 1,500 bottles of this exceptional wine are sold in well-stocked specialist shops, and only in the best vintages. Due to the manual destemming, no green overtones of the stems get into the mash, making the tannins silkier and creamier than in the conventional process. The result is something to be savoured: UnoperUno has a high fruit intensity, incredible depth and structure, and is a benchmark of the appellation every year in its purity and clarity on the nose and palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, intense ruby garnet. Appealing and profound nose, opens with notes of ripe plums and black cherries, some pomegranate and blood orange. Shows lots of plump fruit on the attack, opens with lots of dense, smoothly integrated tannin, creamy, sweet melting on the final." Falstaff
"The 2017 Barolo Unoperuno is sensual, silky and nuanced. Crushed red berry fruit, blood orange, spice, mint and rose petal are some of the aromas and flavors that grace this exquisite, translucent Barolo. Heady and exotic from the first taste, the 2017 is vivid and beautiful, with silky tannins that add to its appeal. The Unoperuno is a selection of grapes, meticulously destemmed, from all of the Altare vineyards. Vinification in small lots, in barrel, has made a big difference here. In 2017, the Unoperuno is hugely appealing." Vinous
"The Elio Altare 2017 Barolo Unoperuno (with each berry selected "one by one") draws its fruit from Arborina in La Morra, Cannubi in Barolo, Pernanno in Castiglione Falletto, Sarmassa in Barolo and Cerretta in Serralunga d'Alba. The wine reveals dark and saturated fruit, but the characteristic that stands out in this wine is its slightly spicy quality, with dried blackberry, ginger and cinnamon stick. This Barolo imparts a soft and thickly textured approach that wraps thickly over the palate." Wine Advocateread more- Grape Variety: 100% Nebbiolo

Barolo “Sperss” DOCG 2020
Barolo Sperss 2020 shows the power, determination and strength you would expect from Serralunga d'Alba. Dark cherry fruit with cassis and wild plum, rounded off by floral aromas that lean more towards red rose than violet or blue flowers. It is a great wine on the palate, with lots of compact, dense tannins, coated in sweet enamel, multi-layered and dense, with a long build-up. Plums and liquorice on the finish with a delicate, mineral iron vein, as we know it from the Sperss. SUPERIORE.DE
"Bright, rich ruby colour with a fine garnet sheen. Finely characterised nose with a fresh fruit component, of cranberries and crisp cherries, some cardamom. Plucky, full-bodied tannins characterise the palate, dark fruit component, full-bodied and salty final." Falstaff
"The Sperss comes from the Marenca and Rivette MGAs, both in the heart of Serralunga. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and ageing takes place in barriques and large oak barrels. The 2020 presents floral and restrained aromas of wild strawberries with mineral notes of tobacco and graphite. The tannins are dense, taut but ripe, infused with orange peel on the refreshing finish." Decanter
"The reduced aromas are earthy, with hints of cherry and raspberry. The flavours are fresh and lively, with fine precision and a tightly wound structure that emphasises the notes of cherry, raspberry, iron, tobacco and undergrowth. The excellent length of the mineral finish hints at the future potential of this wine." Wine Spectator
"Very spicy with deep, dark earth and forest flavours of black truffles, bark, mushrooms, liquorice and iodine. Full-bodied and very restrained, with a linear and racy palate that lingers for minutes. Gunpowder emphasises the character of the dark fruits and the forest floor. Structured. Try it after 2028." On the palate then very powerful and compact, opens on dark fruit, tightly meshed and polished, plus powerful tannin, dark elegance, spans a wide arc, can store for a long time." Falstaff
"The 2018 Barolo Unoperuno is terrific. Bright and beautifully perfumed, the Unoperuno impresses with finesse. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, kirsch, cinnamon, mint and dried flowers all soar out of the glass. Readers will find a Barolo of uncommon finesse and elegance. As has been the case for a few vintages now, the Unoperuno is made from a blend of vineyard sites, with all the fruit destemmed by hand. The purity of the flavors is unreal." Vinous
"Ripe, boasting plum, black cherry and coffee aromas and flavors framed by vanilla, caramel and leather accents. Lush and broad on the palate, yet with ample acidity to drive the lingering finish and keep this balanced. A more flamboyant '18." Wine Spectator
"As the wine name suggests, this Barolo is assembled a single berry at a time, "one by one." With a high price point that reflects a labor–intensive winemaking process, the Elio Altare 2018 Barolo Unoperuno shows some softness and sweetness of a hot vintage. This wine is made of a blend of fruit selected from Arborina (in La Morra), Cannubi (in Barolo), Pernanno (in Castiglione Falletto), Sarmassa (in Barolo) and Cerretta (in Serralunga d'Alba). The grapes of UnoPerUno come from the cru vineyards Arborina in La Morra, Cannubi in Barolo, Pernanno in Castiglione Falletto, Sarmassa in Barolo and Cerretta in Serralunga d'Alba and are individually destemmed. As a result of this intensive manual work, only 1,300 bottles of this exceptional wine are sold in well-stocked specialist shops, and only in the best vintages. Due to the manual destemming, no green overtones of the stems get into the mash, making the tannins silkier and creamier than in the conventional process. The result is something to be savoured: UnoPerUno is of high fruit intensity, has an incredible depth and structure and is a benchmark of the appellation every year in its purity and clarity on the nose and palate. SUPERIORE.DE
"Just medium ruby red. Deeper and more complex than the pure Barolo and a little more closed. Raspberry and the scent of cardamom. Still youthful and compact with an endless finish. Very elegant and very tannic, but beautifully precise." Jancis Robinson
"A beam of cherry highlights this supple red, along with aromas of iron and wet hay, and a hint of eucalyptus. The texture is impressive until the tannins flex their muscles. Firm yet open, with a lingering finish." Wine Spectator
"A crisp and bright Barolo with aromas and flavours of oranges, flowers and crab apples. Medium body. Very crisp and fresh. Fine and polished tannins. Already bright and delicious. But give it time to develop in the bottle. It is destemmed by hand. Better after 2025." James Suckling
"The 2019 Barolo Unoperuno is a wine of absolute class and elegance. Bright and translucent, with compelling inner sweetness, the 2019 is simply beautiful. Crushed red berry fruit, orange peel, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco are all finely brought out. The wine has fantastic energy and resilience. Give it a few years to develop." Vinous
"Silvia Altare calls her 2019 Barolo Unoperuno, made from a blend of fruit from Arborina (in La Morra), Cannubi (in Barolo) and Badarina and Ceretta (in Serralunga d'Alba), a "super mega blend from classic single vineyards". The berries are selected by hand and with the utmost care. Unoperuno actually means "one at a time" in Italian, and this gives you an idea of the demanding work required to make this wine in a very limited production (about 1,200 bottles are released annually in autumn). The result is a gently elegant wine with ripe tannins and lots of dark fruit and black cherry in the background. There are also mild mineral tones and a hint of earth or rust." Wine Advocate
"Shiny ruby red. Inviting nose, of ripe raspberries, peppermint, white pepper, balsamic, of precious wood and minimally of cold smoke, very inviting. Shows very polished on the palate, with pronounced fruit and perfectly integrated tannin, powerful, with pressure, lingers long." Falstaff

"Intensely bright ruby colour with a fine garnet rim. Very clear and appealing nose, inspiring with notes of raspberry and wild strawberry, some dried thyme in the background. Lots of fine-meshed tannins, coated in sweet enamel, builds up for a long time, then compact pressure on the final." Falstaff
"Cherry, plum, fruitcake and mineral flavors are wrapped in toasty oak. Balanced, expressive and inviting, with a lush texture and substantial warmth from the ripe profile. This red lingers, with a long, fresh and spice-infused aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"The Barolo Unoperuno 2020 is an assemblage from the top vineyards Cannubi, Arborina, Cerretta, Pernanno, Sarmassa and Bricco Ambrogio, all destemmed by hand. Silky and floral, with a medium-weight structure, the 2020 is initially quite open. Bright, red-coloured fruit, mint, spice, cedar, tobacco and incense unfold effortlessly in the glass. It is beautifully made and wonderfully exotic." Vinous
"The Elio Altare 2020 Barolo Unoperuno begins with floral aromas of crushed rose and lilac and then moves into rich fruit with dark currant and plum. The nose reveals toasted and baked oak spices, which also characterise the palate. It shows a softness or fullness that is rare for Nebbiolo, and the tannins are already quite silky and accessible." Limitation of 1 articles per customerBarbaresco Roncaglie “Masseria” DOCG 2019 · Double MAGNUM in OWC
First bottled in 1967, the Masseria comes from a vineyard in Bricco di Neive and is essentially vinified and aged like a Barolo. Since the 2018 vintage, it now comes from a small parcel that used to belong to the Barbaresco winery Socré, and it is now deliberately released a year later to provide more harmony and balance.
Floral and spicy notes meld with a core of rich, generous fruit in a generous Barbaresco based on pure resonance. Masseria is vinified and aged like Vietti's single-vineyard Barolos. This means long fermentation, six months in French oak and more than two years in barrique. This, together with the top vintage of 2019 and the broad shoulders of Neive, results in a Barbaresco with clear Barolo hints. SUPERIORE.DE
"The Vietti 2019 Barbaresco Roncaglie Masseria helps to fill out this wide portfolio of wines representing the best of Piedmont. This winery was able to recently acquire new land in this cru site, now totaling two hectares of vines, thus giving considerably more fruit to this program. This Barbaresco is released one year after its peers to show additional depth and fullness, especially in this naturally concentrated vintage. Dark fruit and cherry cedes to pretty spice and tar." Wine Advocate
"Complex aromas of blackberries and black truffle with some lavender. Full-bodied with velvety tannins that spread across the palate. Rich and deep on the finish, with fantastic length and gravitas." James Suckling
"The 2019 Barbaresco Masseria Roncaglie is the best Barbaresco I have ever tasted from Vietti. Bright, translucent and full of energy, the 2019 is stunning from the first sip, and it was poured after all the Barolos in the range. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, cinnamon, mint and orange peel all grace this exquisite, stunning Barbaresco. The 2019 is pure and full of finesse. For many years, Barbaresco was the hidden gem in this range. I'm not sure how long that will last. The 2019 is outrageously beautiful. Don't miss it!" Vinous

Barolo Cerequio DOCG 2018 · 3 bottles in OWC
Vintage 2018 marks Vietti's exciting Barolo debut from one of Piedmont's most famous vineyards, characterised by exuberant aromas and bright, red-tinged fruit. The bouquet is enormously opulent with ripe fruit aromas ranging from wild cherry to red currant. This is joined by original tones of jam, plum and a hint of ragout. The palate is nuanced and very deep, with enormous complexity, volume and character. Vietti's Cerequio is stunning right off the bat! SUPERIORE.DE
"The Vietti winery is a newcomer to this prestigious MGA: multi-layered aromatics of red fruits, flowers, wood spice; the approach is polished, possesses precise acidity and pithy tannin, intense fresh fruit finish. Pleases with its elegant style." Vinum
"Wonderfully fruit-presence of cassis and blood oranges, fresh tea leaves, roses and moss; highly refined velvety substance, casually taut draw, mineral notes, lively and playful with great length and fine fruity finish, great class. Vietti's new site is one of the best of the vintage!" Weinwisser
"Shiny, rich ruby with a slight garnet shimmer. Compact and appealing nose, full of ripe plums, some blackberry, plus lots of white truffle. Shows fine melting on the palate, opens with grippy, present tannin in fine layers, juicy and salty on the final." Falstaff
"Aromas of raspberries and citrus transition to a medium-bodied palate with very fine tannins and a slightly firm finish. Quite a lightweight, but nicely balanced." James Suckling
"The 2018 Barolo Cerequio is a new wine in this range. The Cerequio is characterised by its exuberant aromas and bright, red-tinged fruit. Nuanced and deep, with tremendous complexity and lots of character, the Cerequio is stunning. This is everything a great Barolo from Cerequio should be. In other words, textbook. More than that, it is one of the best wines of this very inconsistent vintage." Vinous
"Here is an exciting new submission from Vietti. The 2018 Barolo Cerequio is beautiful, with a broad and rich bouquet that paints a panoramic vision of this MGA spanning the villages of La Morra and Barolo. Despite this broad vision, this wine also stands out for its subtle aromas of wild cherry, gravel and black liquorice. Cerequio is a wine of great breadth and depth. Taut tannins help to bring it together into a comprehensive whole. Only 4,925 bottles of this first release were made. Congratulations." Wine Advocate
"From a small parcel in the classic cru of the commune of Barolo, about 35 years old plants. The aroma has a nice intensity, notes of red cherries, then undergrowth, eucalyptus and a nice finish. On the palate, balsamic and juniper notes, spicy tannins and great persistence." Luca Gardini

Barbaresco Roncaglie DOCG 2020 · Double MAGNUM in OWC
First bottled in 1967, Roncaglie (formerly Barbaresco Masseria) comes from a vineyard in Bricco di Neive and is essentially vinified and aged like a Barolo. Since the 2018 vintage, it now comes from a small parcel that used to belong to the Socré Barbaresco winery and is now deliberately released a year later to ensure greater harmony and balance. Floral and spicy notes merge with a core of rich, generous fruit in a generous Barbaresco based on pure resonance. Barbaresco Roncaglie is vinified and matured in the same way as Vietti's single-vineyard Barolos. This means long fermentation, six months in French oak and more than two years in barrique. This, together with the broad shoulders of Neive, results in a noble Nebbiolo with clear hints of Barolo and impressive depth. SUPERIORE.DE
"Just mid ruby. Firm, concentrated raspberry-fruit nose becoming more opulent and perfumed with aeration. Impressively balanced on the palate with wired, juicy raspberry and fine tannins. Full aromatic spread on the finish." Jancis Robinson
"The Vietti 2020 Barbaresco Roncaglie Masseria has bright rose, cherry, redcurrant and angel food cake with strawberries. There are mineral notes as well, and the fruit unfolds over the palate with gentle intensity. There is some oak spice, but it is very well integrated; and the wine shows good balance, especially where the tannins versus acidity is concerned." Wine Advocate
"The 2020 Barbaresco, from vines in Roncaglie, sizzles with tension. Bright, red-toned fruit, orange peel, mint, white pepper and crushed rocks are all beautifully delineated. In many vintages, the Roncaglie is quite showy. That is hardly the case in 2020, a vintage in which the wine is classically austere and in need of time. Super-classic." Vinous
"Very perfumed and pretty with sliced strawberries and citrus blossom. Plenty of forest berries, too. Medium to full body. Creamy tannins and a fresh finish. Fine texture and gorgeous." James Suckling

Valter Fissore bottles less than 4,000 bottles of this incredibly classic Barolo every year. Dark cherries, menthol, flowers and tar are just some of the classic notes in the complex bouquet of the Bricco Pernice from the Ravera single vineyard. On the palate, the austere structure and great power are joined by a fine inner sweetness. In the long finish, memories of damp earth, dried herbs and wild flowers. SUPERIORE.DE
"Medium ruby red with orange. A pretty, lifted, complex bouquet with spicy, mineral top notes and minty oak notes. Needs a lot of air. Cranberry and raspberry with crisp tannins. A Barolo of the cool climate. Its character is closer to the excellent 2019 vintage than 2018. Great length and precision." Jancis Robinson
"Very attractive, perfumed nose with cherries and raspberries, hints of spiced cedar, walnut and damp earth. Medium to full-bodied with grainy tannins and chalky texture. Fresh red fruits with racy, citrusy notes on the finish. Taste it from 2026." James Suckling
"Perfumed, it exudes aromas of rose, cherry, raspberry, anise and menthol, with berry fruit persisting on the palate along with mineral and herbal flavours. Although expressive and balanced, it shows tannin and should develop well." Wine Spectator
"Bright, shiny ruby garnet with brightening rim. Great, inviting nose of fresh mint, blackberries, liquorice, then raspberries and candied rose petal. Very polished and with a creamy texture on the palate, tightly woven salty tannin wraps the clear fruit, subtle notes of blood orange, very elegant and long." Falstaff
"This wine shows just how elegant Nebbiolo is with aromas of wild raspberries and cherry preserves giving way to wild herbs, rosebuds and earth. The palate is lifted and dances with vigor and energy showing its core of fruit but with all elements in harmony and balance." Wine Enthusiast

Barbaresco “Il Bricco” DOCG 2018 · 6 bottles in OWC
Barbaresco Bricco di Treiso presents itself with more power and depth than the normal Barbaresco. On the nose, dark red stone fruit, menthol, spices, leather and some cedar. On the palate, punchy even when young and with a great deal of muscularity, which, together with the harmoniously balanced tannin and acid structure, foreshadows a great, long life with a hopeful development. SUPERIORE.DE
"Combines the elegance promised by the provenance with sweet aromatics and abundant fruit, always underpinned by a certain sweetness with a hint of nougat, offering depth, salinity and fine acidity on the quite long finish. Shows what is in the 2018 vintage." Weinwisser
"Sparkling, intense ruby garnet, light rim. Shows notes of rose petals, raspberries, some tobacco and truffle on the nose. Pithy tannin, spreads out richly, lots of tobacco and leather, then slightly sandy tannin in the back." Falstaff
"Lustrous mid ruby. Like an amplified version of their straight Barbaresco. Firm nose which is perfumed at the same time. Cherry with hints of tobacco leaf, iron, orange skin and cumin. Increasingly minerally with aeration. Iron and orange and a hint again of cumin. Fine-grained, long tannins carrying the supple fruit. Can be approached now, but ideally should get more time in the bottle." Jancis Robinson
"A rich, well-defined style, this red evokes cherry, raspberry, iron, menthol and tobacco flavors. Broad tannins announce the finish, yet this remains balanced, intense and energetic, with a lingering aftertaste." Wine Spectator
"The 2018 Barbaresco Il Bricco is a worthy follow-up to the stellar 2017. Menthol, licorice, gravel, incense and a range of deeply-pitched spice notes open first, but it is the wine's overall depth that I find especially alluring. Racy and complex, yet so refined, the 2018 has a ton to offer. Best of all, it can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. It's a gorgeous Barbaresco that captures the essence of Treiso." Vinous
"The 2018 Barbaresco Il Bricco shows ample depth and intensity with dark fruit, smoke, toasted spice and cured tobacco. This is a production of 6,393 numbered bottles. This vintage shows a mid-weight approach with rich fruit weight and polished tannins." Wine Advocate
"This is a very solid red for the vintage, with a medium to full body and extremely refined and focused tannins that run the length of the wine. Bitter-lemon, strawberry and spice flavors. Compact and long. Try after 2025." James Suckling
"The Barbaresco ‘selection’ of Pio Cesare, coming from 3 microzones located in the highest part of the vineyards of Cascina Il Bricco in Treiso. Great freshness on the nose, with notes of raspberry, blood orange, gardenia, then cloves. Palate of density and tension, savory tannins, finish of pleasant persistence." Luca Gardini

Barbaresco DOCG 2019 · MAGNUM in OWC
Complex and multi-layered classic from the old master of Nebbiolo from Piedmont. On the nose cedar, plum, red fruits, undergrowth and some rose scent. Balanced, spicy taste, the tannins firm and the finish precise and long. This muscular monument of a red wine definitely needs a few more years of bottle ageing, with a little patience it will transform into pure elegance! SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, brightening ruby garnet. Fragrant, finely marked nose, of raspberry, rose petals and ripe cherries, inviting. Polished, fine-meshed tannin characterises the wine on the palate, like a fine robe, salty, lots of ripe cherry, long final." Falstaff
"The 2019 Barbaresco from Gaja is magnificent. Bright and edgy, with fabulous balance, the 2019 captures all the best this difficult vintage had to offer. Gaja did not bottle any other Barbaresco crus, instead opting to use the best lots for this bottling. This decision has paid off in a 2019 that is bursting with excitement. The aromas alone are captivating. Bright acids add vibrancy to a core of beautifully pronounced Nebbiolo fruit." Vinous
"Aromas of iron, minerals, dark chocolate, wild strawberries, raw walnuts, orange peel and rotten roses. Medium to full-bodied, with supple and very chalky tannins. Lots of fruit on the palate with a fine, fresh and mineral finish. Pure and linear." James Suckling
"A complex red that reveals multi-dimensional aromas and flavours of rose, cherry, liquorice, minerals and spices. This is fused with a lively structure that gives a taut, almost racy profile at the moment. The wine combines power and grace and finishes on a long, floral and spicy aftertaste. Best from 2026 to 2045." Wine Spectator
"The 2019 Barbaresco is striking and beautiful as a result, with tremendous depth and clarity. It is a generous wine with ample structure, plenty of lively acidity, sweet tannins and a bright core of primary fruit." Wine Advocate

Barolo “Le Vigne” DOCG 2020 · 6 bottles in OWC
The grapes for the profound Le Vigne come from Baudana in Serralunga d'Alba (for the power), Villero in Castiglione Falletto (for the precision), Vignane in Barolo (for the purity of the flavours) and Merli in Novello (for the fullness of the fruit). It opens wide with aromas of fresh red fruit and a delicate spicy note. Very intense on the palate, remarkably elegant, fine-grained tannins, extremely clear, structured and long. SUPERIORE.DE
"Sparkling, intense ruby-garnet colour. Intense nose with notes of plum and wild raspberry, followed by some liquorice and cloves. Salty and juicy on the palate, shows fine cherry fruit at the front, then opens up with grippy tannins, good pressure on the final." Falstaff
"The Barolo Le Vigne 2020 is characterised by its brilliant aromatic intensity and great depth. Crushed rose petals, mint, blood orange, spices, lavender and pomegranate blend together. Le Vigne has slightly more aromatic vibrancy and vigour than the Aleste, but shares its sibling's sense of openness." Vinous
"Black cherry, raspberry and plum are wrapped in a veil of toasted oak in this red wine. Ripe and dense, yet with a sense of elegance, this wine lingers with fine balance and freshness on the finish, which is characterised by iron and eucalyptus." Wine Spectator
"The 2020 Barolo Le Vigne has an open texture with sun-drenched flavours. You get ripe fruit with black cherries, blackcurrants, forest floor and wild mushrooms. With time in the glass, the wine reveals floral definition, grilled tarragon herb and a heavier note of wheat pastry." Wine Advocate
"The flavours of blackberry, spice and tar are enticing and lead to a full but firm body that shows density and depth. The tannins are very well integrated and feel fused with the wine. Slightly bitter orange and mineral character on the finish. Complex and curated." James Suckling
"The wine is a bold expression of dark, macerated cherries, earthy undertones with the nuanced complexity of oolong tea and a medley of spices. The palate is characterised by a dark, smoky character dusted with spice, creating a big and commanding presence in the glass that shows the depth and power of the wine but never goes too far, maintaining an elegant line in the glass." The Torriglione vineyard is a stone's throw away from Annunziata, and the eponymous single-vineyard Barolo is not only released two years later than the other crus of the house, but it is also exclusively filled in magnum bottles. It shows its very own character first and foremost with a noble restraint and caginess, and its density and complexity only give a taste of what awaits Barolo lovers here after a few minutes of aeration. Here, everything is in its place and there is more than enough of it: freshness, fruit, acidity, tannin, and the whole paired with a finesse that is unparalleled and that one would rather expect in Burgundy or Etna. A wine that indisputably belongs to those that you must have drunk at least once in your life! SUPERIORE.DE

Barolo Sarmassa DOCG 2020 · MAGNUM in OWC
Over the years, Roberto Voerzio has changed his winemaking to a gentler extraction and reduced the influence of French oak, making the purity of the fruit very expressive. What is remarkable about all his wines is his non-interventionist approach. In addition, up to two-thirds of each bunch is cut away in the vineyard to ensure even ripening of the remaining grapes. Roberto also chooses different bottle formats to present each wine as accurately as possible.
Sarmassa, for example, is one of his Barolo wines, which he bottles exclusively in magnum formats. Sarmassa is very similar to the style of Cerequio, which is not surprising as the vineyards are close together. It is luxurious and radiant, with a gorgeous inner perfume, bright red fruits and fine, silky tannins that flow from the glass, reflecting a seamless, soft expression of Nebbiolo. The exceptionally long and pure finish is reminiscent of a variety of freshly cut flowers. Barolo Sarmassa is still quite closed today and will mature at a snail's pace in magnum format compared to the other wines of this vintage. But even today, the luxurious fruit and elegance of the wine cannot be overlooked, you just need to be patient for a few years. SUPERIORE.DE
"Aromas of stones, seashell, plum and strawberry as well as orange peel follow through to a medium to full body with chewy tannins that are slightly angular but it turns juicy and beautiful at the end. Needs time to soften. Made only in magnums. Drink after 2028." James Suckling

A beautiful, very sensual, feminine wine, vinified only in the best vintages. Exquisitely scented with dark fruits, elegant and fine on the palate with lots of fruit and long. It was named after the nickname once given to the young wild Clerico by his father: Aeroplan Servaj - wild plane. And the décor of the six bottles is just as wild and creative, but see for yourself! "Quite polished red and somewhat black berry nose with nutty aromas, a little malt, dried herbs, black olives, chestnuts and tar. Ripe, tightly knit, partly preserved fruit with coffee and cocoa aromas, some smoky wood, chestnuts and malt, present yet ripe and friable tannins, lots of power and substance, some molasses in the background, cedary hints, a little tobacco and tar, still undeveloped, lots of power and substance, distinct wood spice, a little peppery and waxy notes, good depth, salt in the background, very good, firm finish." Wein-Plus
"Bright ruby garnet with brightening rim. Smells of dark raspberries, rose petals and blackberries, plus some tobacco. Substantial and dense in the attack, shows a lot of sweet melting, dark fruit, nice juiciness and length in the final." Falstaff
"At first quite a bit of sweet oak on the nose. Supple, generous and succulent palate with plenty of chewy tannins adding tactile fireworks to the finish. Modernist, no doubt, but done with huge skill." Jancis Robinson
"Tight nose with a fine bead of ripe berries that are enveloped in a mildly spicy, vanilla coating. Some smoky, charcoal-like nuances add interest. Medium-bodied with a very silky palate and fine, powdery tannins that are starting to sink in. Compact and displaying quality. Best from 2024." James Suckling
"From the vineyard of the same name (Aeroplanservaj) in the Baudana Cru. A beautiful family history, the first experience in Serralunga for the historic winery of Monforte, bottled for the first time in 2006. Notes of wild blueberry on the nose, with nuances of gardenia and eucalyptus. The mouthfeel has savory-salty tannins, with a fruity return and officinal sensations." Luca Gardini
"Showing nice softness and ample fruit weight, the 2018 Barolo Aeroplan Servaj is a bold and contemporary expression of Nebbiolo with dark fruit, cured tobacco, candied orange peel, rusty nail and ferrous earth. Fruit is sourced from the Baudana MGA in Serralunga d'Alba with vines planted in 1994. The tannins are plush and rich, and this beautiful collectors' bottle awards you with multilayered complexity and depth." Wine Advocate
