In the 2018 vintage, Bruno Giacosa decided not to vinify any single vineyards, so here comes a special wine that combines the advantages of the Asili, Santo Stefano and Rabaja vineyards in a terrific way. Rose petals, sweet red berries and mint are some of the notes that flow towards us. The Barolo Falletto from the hillside of the same name in Serralunga, where the winery is also located, has a wonderfully complex and racy personality. It impresses with the intensity of its dark fruit and the excellent overall balance that can only be found in this coveted site. Its spectrum ranges from small dark berries to menthol, flowers and liquorice to a tannin that is present yet trimmed for consistent elegance. It is a particularly precise and direct Barolo without being loud. However, its full character, aromatic diversity and delicacy will only really come to the fore with further bottle ageing.
