This wine is practically a Barolo, except for the fact that it is released a year earlier. Langhe Giàrborina draws its fruit from the top Arborina site in La Morra. Blackberries and plums are surrounded by smoke, tar and black liquorice in the most refined and elegant way. "This wine is a 100% Nebbiolo, made like a Barolo but released a year earlier. This wine always gives you a good idea of what to expect the following year when the Barolos are actually released. The Elio Altare 2020 Langhe Giàrborina definitely hints at warmer, sun-drenched fruit with ripe cherry flavours and a fairly soft texture. Maceration times have been shortened and barrel ageing fine-tuned to adapt to the warm fruit of the vintage. This vintage is more approachable overall." Wine Advocate
