    Cerretto is a fruit-driven wine of virile, explosive power that shows, among other things, how different the wines of Serralunga can be. Black cherry, plum, sage, menthol and liquorice hit the palate in a firm, tannic Barolo that will require some patience, but already presents itself with remarkable freshness, purity and nuance.     "Sourced from two different parcels on opposite sides of the hill with different soils and sites, the 2021 Cerretta is so classic and impressive that the sense of place alone is worth the price of admission - but it's also flawless and masterfully balanced. It's youthfully tart, with hints of savoury spices, forest herbs and ginseng. The palate is densely packed with pomegranate, black cherry and earthy liquorice root. On the nose it shows an assertive, floral style with subtle fruit, violets, restrained roses, vibrant red currants, cherry stones, licorice and dark spices.
